20 Best Pac Boots For Hunting (2022 Updated)

Amazingly comfortable PAC boot, that is also safety toe and EH rated. I bought this boot first and foremost as a “WINTER” boot, and at that it excels. You can read the features I’m not going to list them here, bottom line they keep your feet warm and dry and they won’t sweat outdoors in cold Temps.

That being said, they are a PAC boot, not meant to be worn indoors for long periods of time or in warmer Temps, this is NOT an all season boot and your feet will more than likely sweat in warmer conditions.

The added bonus is that they have a composite safety toe and heal protection as well as a non-marking, oil and slip resistant, electrical hazard sole and something very important to my job and not listed in the features.

ladder-lock. I work aloft a ladder for a lot of my day and need either a 90° heal or ladder-lock. This feature keeps a good solid grip on ladder rungs and prevents you foot from slipping while climbing, descending and standing at the top of a ladder.

As winter boots go, these are fairly light and form fitting, unlike most PAC/winter boots and they run true to size. Everybody’s feet are different and some here have commented that there was some break in time and getting blisters on the heal during break in.

I have not experienced this and believe if your order the right size for your feet, they won’t require any break in as they are soft and flexible. The only downside I have experienced with these boots is the lacing.

I have never worn a 10″ boot before, all my boots are 6″ so there is a bit of a learning curve here, but once I got used to the lacing system I was able to get into and out of these boots with little difficulty.

Overall, these are a fantastic WINTER work boot and I will definitely buy another pair when the time comes.

I have had this boot now for about a month while working at an outage in Michigan during the winter. I will say, my feet were absolutely not cold with wind chills down to 7’F. My feet stayed very warm the whole time.

That said, it doesn’t really allow for ventilation, nor is it very breathable. That is one aspect that Carhart can work on. Bring an extra pair of socks that you can rotate out of while at work as your feet will potentially sweat and give you bad blisters which happened to me.

I have no doubt that these boots will do you well. Again. I have only used these for about a month, so I am not sure on the longevity they will provide, but they are constructed solid. They look like Frankenstein’s boots on my size 14 feet.

These boots looked exactly like what I wanted with tall uppers and a solid water proof base, and that’s what I got. What I didn’t see is these boots are not normal work boots, they are much larger both in height and width then most normal boots.

And the simple reason is they are hardcore WINTER boots, which so far with winter slamming us in the north east late in the season just fine. Come summer I know that the lack of breathability and warmth of these boots will make them oppressive on even the coolest of days.

The lacing has a learning curve as you have to unlace underneath the lace guard things about halfway down to even consider getting your feet out. The rear heel cup also takes time to wear in so expect a nice blister before your heel gets callused enough to deal with it.

TL;DR Good winter work boot, bad general work boot.

I’ve been using these boots 5 days a week for 3 months now and I truly enjoy these boots they are a tank that tracks through any terrain you can think of, without feeling a thing or even noticing romping though 2 inch sticks.

2 things to know before buying 1)they are very stiff at first. For me, it was a whole 2 weeks of stomping around before they had any give, they were still very comfortable, but I was literally walking around like Frankenstein though before they broke in enough for a normal gait, And now that they have, they are a still a solid (comfortable) boot that should last the test of time (hoping to get at least 3 years) 2) They are not light weight trail boots, I switched over to these from a pair of Solomon Quest 4D GTX Forces, and these(Desert Guides) are better but a completely different animal.

I really believe tank is the best description for the Desert Guides. When your feet are in a battle with elements you want them to be in a Cadillac lined tank, if that makes any sense. I will definitely buy another pair when if every my current pair dwindles in comfort.

They could use a bit longer laces though Kenetrek if your listening. I always Ankle wrap tie my boots for better ankle support and to keep down friction burns/ hot spots. The laces can do it, but just barely.

Also advise on weather or not the water repellent will adversely effect the breathability of the desert guide.

I purchased these boots in 2019 after a few hunts in the Idaho Sawtooth Mountain Range. I didn’t want to post a review until I got a chance to beat the heck out of them. Took about 50 miles to break in, but ohhh was it worth it.

I like to stack a wool sock on top of a dress sock and ratchet these things down using the “Heel Lock” lacing technique. Go find an insole that actually fits the bottom of your foot. Factory insoles are never the right answer no matter what the price tag.

You gotta find something that properly fits the shape of YOUR foot. I used to limit my movement to a couple miles a hunt. Once I ruled my feet out of the equation. 15, 20+ miles a day is pretty easy to do when your feet aren’t sad at you.

I’ve spent days and days moving in rain, creek beds, frost and dew covered meadows, climbing granite faces, shale, loose-dry-sage embankments. stayed perfectly dry, and no foot slop at all. Granted. don’t expect the boots to be a miracle worker for poor planning.

If your pants get wet. your socks get wet and water moves down. Wear gators. be smart. have happy feet. I’ve got roughly 150-175 miles in these and could easily triple that before I need to send them in for a new rand and resole.

Keep the leather waxed and brush off the metal grommets. You’ll never remember the 500$ price tag. Buy these boots and go be awesome.

Background: I’m a utility plant operator/millwright. 12 hour shifts of combined indoor/outdoor work. Timberland, Red Wing, Doc Martens, Carolina, and most recently Wolverines. I’ve tired and worn multiple pairs of them all.

All have worked well enough but I’m always seeking my perfect boot. Now for the Kenetrek Hardscrabble ST I purchased these boots online through Baker’s Boots and Clothing 5 Stars for initial quality.

Will follow up with long term review. My feet feel locked into these boots. Somehow they manage to give a ski boots worth of support without restricting flexibility or feeling cumbersome. Comfort is great, build quality seems excellent.

I do notice a loss of traction when indoors on wet, epoxy coated warehouse flooring but I don’t believe these boots are rated as “non slip” so I cant hold that against them. I have high hopes for these boots and so far feel confident they will perform great.

Im going to be straight because winter and cold is my life. I bought my Baffins back at the beginning of Dec 2021 and have waited until Jan 31, 2022 so I could wear them regularly for a month doing different chores and activities as to make a good review.

I’ve owned just about every Cold Quality boot on the market. That being said This is a Good Boot. I went with Eigers because Velcro instead of laces dont get wet and freeze as bad. Wet frozen ties are no fun if you need to remove or re-tie your boot when its below 0.

These Boots are comfortable although they are alittle tight but that maybe my fault, Ill explain later. Take note At -10F my toes get abit of a chill when Im not moving/walking around. This is sad because I’d loose my toes at the Temp-rate they say this boot is rated for.

My feet stay nice and dry in the boot walking through creeks, they dont leak water. Ive always liked boots with a top Shin pull tie, I like this feature thx. I also like that these boots have a calf extension to make the boot taller when needed.

Id say the saddest thing for me is at -10F my toes should not get a chill in these boots. I have $80. 00 name brand winter hiking boot that the foot warmth feels the same as these Baffins do at -10F but Im pretty sure I may know why: I wear a USA size 12 in a normal Summer hiking boot or shoe.

In winter boots I always buy a USA size 14 (except my USGI boots and they are a 13) so I can wear nice quality wool socks in them. With these Baffins I bought a USA size 14 like normal and I can only wear a regular white cotton socks in them my foot is tight in these Baffins US size 14, so maybe I should have bought a US size 15 or 16 but a size 16 would be like wearing snow shoe.

If I wear a normal shoe of 12 and a winter boot of 14 I should not have to wear a 15-16 in Baffin I wouldn’t think. That being said these Baffin size 14 will not fit in my snowshoes (Super Bummer!) I catch myself hiking in 2 ft of snow sometimes and snowshoes are helpful and are always in on my pack.

Long Term Hiking/Pack-camping 4-6 hours this boot is abit bulky but Im starting to get use to it. As mentioned I can not wear a good quality sock in my Baffins which is sad because I bought the Expedition socks for that extra comfort and I can only wear them in my other sets of boots.

Over-all Im going to be so truthful it may hurt you but my US Government Issue Mickey Mouse Boots cost me $59. 95 on a surplus sight 8years ago and they are just as good as these Baffins BUT! in all fairness to Baffins their Boots are cooler looking then my USGI boots.

The Expedition Socks fit nice in my USGI size 13 Boots and Im very Happy with my Expedition socks I highly recommend them. No matter what your wear on your feet Enjoy the Cold Weather and Pray for more Snow.

I’ve had knee replacements and currently have arthritis in my hips. I walk – alot – in the fight still. The problem our home is in a remote area on a lake in Manitoba. We can get fierce winter weather.

I have never missed my daily walk because of weather and that requires a quality boot for extended time in extreme cold. The boot must also trudge through deep snow and keep my feet warm and dry. In the last several weeks this has been tested and breezed through – always keeping my feet warm, but never overheating.

These things I expected from a boot of this pedigree, though the never overheating was a surprise. What really exceeds expectations is how I can walk in these boots. When I first put them on and felt how they pushed out the air I thought they would never work.

However, after getting used to them, I can put on the miles quite comfortably. This I did not expect from a extreme cold weather boot. I really thought I would have to drop my program on the bad weather days and just get whatever I could.

I am really impressed all around. To date I have nothing on the “CON” column to report. Owing to other reviewers, I ordered mine a full size larger. They fit perfectly.

I bought the Eiger Boots this winter for moving up to northern BC due to the temperate getting down to -58 C. I was initially pleased with the weight considering the size and insulation value. Worst part of these boots are the straps, they do NOT work well.

The boots are a bit big and your feet slide around inside, so I tried to tighten the straps to help it stay on my foot, but when I tightened them the metal rings immediately bent and have continued to bend when the straps are being tightened.

Seems like the metal rings are made from coat hangers. Inability to secure your heal meens that it rubs the inside if the boot, can cause blisters and wear the boot out quicker. I was sitting out ice fishing in -30 C (no shelter) and after 1 hr my toes got very cold.

All that being said they are a decent boot but poor quality strap design. I would like to see a more effective strap system or at least a tougher ring.

The boots took a little longer to ship than expected but that’s ok. I got them today and I have to admit, I am quite impressed with the quality. Each boot is stitched very well and the fit on each foot feels very consistent.

The leather feels like it will stand up well to the outdoors. Time will tell but based on experience of other boots, I am confident they will hold up well. I haven’t had a chance to get them wet so I can’t speak for how waterproof they are just yet but we have snow coming in so that should be answered very shortly.

As far as comfort goes, they feel great on my feet and the sizing is right on. I tend to wear thicker wool socks in the winter so I tend to go up a half size from my ‘sneaker size’ and that was a good decision for these.

There are no hot spots or areas that cause irritation, which you get sometimes with taller boots. Not with these. No hot spots or discomfort anywhere. The only issue for me are the laces. They seem OK but are a little thin for my liking.

It’s just a preference thing for me so I’ll change them out for some thicker ones. Overall, the quality and comfort of these boots is outstanding and for the price, the value is hard to beat. I have no doubt that they will hold up well as a winter / cold weather boot.

Have not worn them much yet, hour or so to start break in. First impressions are. 1. Nice looking boot. 2. Not sure yet, but the left boot fits much looser than the right boot. I REALLY have to crank on the laces to get the left boot to not wiggle around on my foot.

3. came with 2 different laces lengths. Left lace is easily a foot longer than the right. No prob. just weird. 3. With all the leather, a largish sole, and the insulation, it is a heavy boot. Shouldn’t be a big problem as my longest walking distance will be right about 3 miles + or -.

But I think it will last a long time. The stitching and glue points are all nicely done. These will strictly be winter boots, used from November 1 to February 1, most years. Probably last me a good long time.

4. All in all, I think the size issue will resolve itself as I break the boots in better. Can always add another pair of socks to the equation.

I bought this boot, and I could not be more dissatisfied with them. I bought them over a year ago and never got around to writing a review, and never got to send them back. I bought these boots to go on a week long bird hunting trip, and within the first week they were leaking, thankfully I had a pair of backup boots with me.

Within one season the leather was completely cracked out. I am very meticulous about my hunting gear, after every trip I would clean my boots, and after they were dry I would lightly oil them, but no matter what I do they leak.

It’s a shame because my last pair of Rocky boots lasted well over 15 years, and never leaked. I put those boots through some of the worst conditions you can imagine and they always performed, and kept my feet warm and dry.

Just bought for my hubby’s birthday. I researched a LOT of boots. He wanted warm and obviously comfortable while easy to mice in. We haven’t gotten into our coldest season yet but he seems to think they’re warm for November.

He uses a tree stand and said the boots make it a challenge to manipulate the climb. I feel he wanted something warm but lighter – I’m sure he’ll appreciate them a little more in December. Overall a great quality boot, going to take a season or 2 to wear them in a bit but I see them lasting for a very long time.

Boots do not dissapoint! They were a little tight around the instep when I first put them on but within a hour they felt fine. I wore them out to the barn yard and walked through puddles of slush and mud, broke through some ice on my pond for the ducks to get in and my feet stayed dry and warm.

I didn’t slip and slide in the mud or the partially frozen rutted horse pasture. So far I’m loving these boots and would recommend them to anyone.

I purchased this boot because I needed a warm boot with better ankle support than my LaCrosse Iceman’s. They are comparable in warm to my Iceman’s and very comfortable to wear. My only issue was they were tough to climb with in my climbing stand.

The book was so big they had a tough time staying under the hooks on my climber. For most people they don’t use climbing stands for late season bow hunting, but I do. I did manage to make it work. As for walking in the woods they were awesome.

I didn’t feel like they were too bulky or heavy. I always hunted with one pair of socks and my feet stayed decently warm for 2 1/2 hours in the tree. That actually says a lot since my feet get cold fairly easy.

Good boot. Last note I was told they run a bit small and to get a size bigger. This is very true! I got a size bigger and they fit perfectly.

Purchased these for all of my winter adventures. They are very warm while you are moving but tend to cool off a bit when standing in knee deep snow not moving much. They performed as expected however as I haven’t found a pair of boots I can actually hike in that keep my feet warm when standing still for long periods.

Speaking of hiking, they are sufficient and offer plenty of traction. I was worried my Kenetrek gaiters would fit around them but they fit just fine (xl) and were a perfect combo for deep snow. As for sizing, I generally wear an 11.

5 so I went with a 12. Not too big and had a little room for some thicker socks. Definitely couldn’t go down to the 11. I would, and have recommended these to my outdoor companions. Worth the money so far.

My Brother in Law has worn these same boots for years and have secretly coveted them – I finally ordered my own and they have not disappointed! I had a really severe heel break that required surgery 2 years ago – finding comfy shoes that provide adequate support has been an ongoing challenge since.

I have been amazed and surprised by care these boots give my feet for hunting and ice-fishing – Thanks Kenetrek! PS – another of my hunting buddies bought a pair too!.

I have worn these boots ever since we carried them in our Western Store in 1980 through 1988. I am a farmer/rancher, very involved in the cattle and all aspects of ranch life. Which means, I am outdoors in all kinds if weather.

We live in Eastern Washington, near the Canadian Border, and have snow and cold temperatures. These boots never fail me! They are comfortable and keep my feet warm, even in below zero temperatures. I have never been without them since 1980.

I even wear them as snowmobile boots and they have kept me warm while putting 100 miles a day on my machine while vacationing in Montana! I will never ‘ve without my Lacrosse Insul Pacs and I’m pushing 80!.

These boots are pretty tough and hold up well. Both my farm in Missouri and my ranch in Oklahoma are creek bottom places. These boots suit me well. Spring, summer, and fall these boots handle the moist wet morning dew and rains.

In the winter they handle the frost and snow always keeping your feet dry and cozy. I recommend liner socks and outer socks to keep your feet happy and healthy. They have enough tread to keep you upright but not fill the house with mud.

Good value and service. Great all around work boots.

The boots are a fantastic quality. The support and arch give these boots a walkability that is hard to beat in a rubber boot. The height of 12 inches is perfect for a work boot that is worn in mud and manure on a daily basis.

I work on farms everyday and these boots are so easy to take on and off multiple times. The boots have good traction but are easy to clean off with a hose and a little water. I like the comfort and fit.

The insulation is just enough to keep you warm on cold days and not too much to make you sweat on hot days.

While browsing for something else, I was directed to Wal-Mart’s website, and that rabbit hole brought me to these boots. They were on sale and delivered for free the same day I purchased them. Bonus.

What surprised me is that these are fairly good boots. I’ve taken two 3-mile walks in them in 10-degree weather and they were warm and comfortable. There is a bit too much heel for my particular walking pace, but that didn’t affect the boot’s performance.

There is a Velcro closure strap at the top that allows for plenty of adjustment. There is also a bungy-style lacing at the ankle, but I didn’t find this useful at all and will probably replace the bungy with something stronger.

One helpful tip for these boots is cushioning. In the $30 range you aren’t paying much, so I took a pair of insoles from an old pair of running shoes, and the cushioning improved immediately. I like these boots and think they are well worth the money.

Typically, I buy much higher end winter boots just to have the assurance that I will be warm and dry throughout the winter. I bought these boots to have something that I can throw on quick to take my dog out during heavy snow and these things are amazing for the price point! Very spacious and roomy but not in a bad way.

I would not recommend these for hiking but for walking around in the snow and snow shoveling these are the perfect boots! It also has 3M insulation which is typically found in higher priced boots so that is a major plus!.

Got my ice kings for my 15th birthday, which was almost 25 years ago. I turn 40 this year and I still wear them. A little tight but they keep my feet dry and warm when snowmobiling, ice fishing, and snow blowing the driveway.

Just a great boot. Still waterproof, dry and extremely warm! My 14 year old son started borrowing them this year to go ice fishing but their big for him. Guess it’s time to buy him a pair of ice kings! Thanks for a great product Jeremiah.

The sizing is confusing. I wear a 7. 5 had to order a 9. They run very narrow and are extremely bulky and heavy. That being said my feet stayed warm and dry while snowmobiling for 10 hours. I did place toe warmers in to make sure.

Second day it was warmer out and my feet were sweating because of the warmers. So not sure I really needed them. They performed well.

This will be my second pair. Keep my feet warm in the extreme cold of northern Minnesota. Quality suffered greatly when manufacturing moved to china. The rubber lowers cracked ,like dry rot , on last pair.

I was shocked and disappointed but couldn’t find a decent alternative.

I went to the local Cabela’s with the intent of purchasing a pair of Grange boots. I had a pair 15+ years ago that I gave to my brother because they were too small but I loved them. He still wears them today.

I bought the hip boots maybe 10-12 years ago and they are excellent, love them! I need another pair today so I ran to Cabela’s because they had one pair in my size. I opened the box to try them on and I looked the boot over.

First, the material is thinner and flimsy, but I could get over that but then I looked at the sole. The soles used to be rubber, softer rubber that gripped on anything you walked on. When I looked at this new pair the sides of the sole were the typical rubber but the sole itself that was molded into the rubber was of all things plastic! Hard plastic.

I put the boots on and I could literally slide on the carpet in the store!! There isn’t a chance in the world I’d buy a boot like this. I wouldn’t stand a chance on a wet rock or on ice when the plastic hardens even more.

So sad to see a true classic go to junk in exchange for keeping the price low. What’s worse is that the sole in the picture on the website is NOT the sole that I looked at! It was so painfully obvious that the plastic sole was molded into the rubber.

The colors were different. So the website shows the traditional sole while the one I tried on looked cheap as all get out! So now I’m done with La Crosse. Onward to a competitor’s boot today that I didn’t want to buy, but now I am.

Just wanted La Crosse to know it lost another customer because of its cheap boots.

I’ll start by saying I was a long time user of the original burly and they outlasted any new boot today on the market. Unfortunately it came time to buy a new pair and I decided to go with what I knew.

Upon receiving my new boots they lasted about 3-4 weekends of hunting and the inner seam came apart on the boots. Although the fit was great out of the box it seems as if the materials are not the same as before and they came apart quickly from walking the north woods of NY.

I sent the pair back to Lacrosse for a refund and ordered another pair. Ordered in the end of October I just received them 1/29. Starting to wonder what happened to the company I once knew but customer service was amazing and would never be nervous to work with those folks who gave me great direction on the return.

Durability of the new pair…. we shall see.

These are the perfect all round soft-toe rubber boots. They have a classic North American design all their own. The fit and feel is perfect. The rubber is softer than Hunter, as soft as Le Chameaux, (both much more expensive), and thinner than either, thus creating an extremely cofy tactile fit for a relatively economical, but very high quality male rubber boot.

My only quibble is the only color, green. Wish they had this model in classic black too. There are many occasions besides gardening when you need a top quality high soft toe rubber boot, like, rain, or slushy snow, but also need a more dressy color than gardening green.

And speaking of a range of wet condictions where you aren’t afraid of a hammer falling on your toes, why isn’t there a short version of this boot in black or any color. Seems like reverse sexism to me when their are a whole handful of short La Crosse women’s rubber boots, but not a single classic rubber boot in ankle size for men who have a man sized foot.

Hunter has them. Le Chameaux used to have them. But until the design team catches up for men, these are the best feeling soft toe real rubber boots you can buy , even if only in green, and at a very fair price, a hidden winner.

I bought this a month ago as a replacement for the same ones I bought a couple of years ago. I wear a women’s size 7XW and these fit perfectly. They are easy to slip on—I wear them 2 or 3 times a day when I go out to feed our horses and goats.

I even wear them horseback riding. They are nice and warm in our Minnesota winter. I highly recommend them for adults or children.

I bought these last winter. The were great at keeping his feet warm until the rubber on the bottom started getting holes and his feet started getting wet by early March. By This time it was almost impossible to find him another pair of boots.

It snowed in Wisc all the way till the end of April @nd he really needed a pair that lasts a hole season.

Bought these less than a month ago for my oldest son. He really likes them. They are very durable and have nice thick liners that keep his feet warm and dry. We’ve had good luck with this brand over the years.

Just needed a bigger size.

Bow Hunter 30+ years, bought the original Lacrosse AlphaBurly series Mossy Oak Breakup (400 gram) in the early 2000’s. The boots fit like a glove, and felt like you had nothing on your feet. I bought a 2nd pair knowing that LaCrosse would change them, and they did of course.

Both pairs are worn out now, so I went to look at the ones. Very disappointed with the fit, they rubbed the outside of my ankles, foot slops around inside the boot, and the boot opening is much larger and doesn’t tighten up like the old ones.

The size 13 boots are heavy weighing almost 3 lbs. each, compared to 2. 8 lbs each of the originals. I’ve tried on the other brands thinking maybe someone copied the original LaCrosse Alpha’s, and no luck with those either.

I’m currently gluing the soles back on my old boots trying to keep them hunting. Even with the all cuts in the boots, and leaking a little, I’d still pick them over any of the new ones. Hey LaCrosse, think about reissuing the original design, it wasn’t broke, so why did you change it? *Note my hunting buddy has these new Pro’s, and he loves them! He’s a size 11D.

I may have gotten a defective pair, but the left boot is near impossible to remove with a single pair of thin socks on, right one is only slightly easier. Wore them out in 26 wind chill this AM, toes were freezing after sitting for an hour.

Boots are too tight at ankle to wear thick socks or 2 pairs like I used to. I had to stick my foot in a door and use that as leverage to remove the boot. My brother recommended them to me, but he was unaware that they don’t all have side zippers like his.

He highly recommends the brand and boot, but I do not recommend getting the one without the side zip. You cant stuff pants leg in them as the top is also too narrow, so pants end up soaking up whatever the boot is protecting you from.

In my case, swamp water and mud. And if my pair wasn’t defective, then they are poorly designed at the ankle for removal. A quick google search shows many complaints of them being hard to remove, so again, great brand, but find the ones with the side zip, not these ones.

I have purchased two pair in the last three years. The first pair lasted two years and I thought it was due to my using a shoehorn to take my shoes off at the end of the day. So I purchased the second pair with a discount from your store and they have lasted less than a year.

This time the wear is on the front of the ankle allowing water into the boot. These are very comfortable shoes and I really wish the quality was better if you could figure out a way to design these shoes without the seams I think you’d have quite a product.

If this had lasted even another year or two longer I would be a lifetime user of lacross footwear. You have a great product but you have to figure out a way to decrease so many seams because that’s where the water is getting through and nobody wants to spend $200 on shoes that last 12-15 months:/.

About a year ago a blizzard hit my town and I had to work outside in 2. 5 feet of snow, so like many I pulled out my trusty timberland steel toe winter boots. To cut it short I came home with sore, bruised and cold feet, they were getting old anyways so I went looking for a new pair of boots, so I found these, did my research, and ordered a pair.

First impressions were good, they fit great, extremely comfortable, Felt sturdy. But It wasn’t until I used them in the extreme cold that I truly appreciated them. They kept you warm even with the steel toe, Very durable, they stayed comfortable during extensive work in the cold and afterwards I had no sores or bruises.

Long term durability has been great. Long story short, I’m never going back to timberland or other brands, these are the best winter boots I’ve ever had.

It’s hard to buy from a magazine and I normally look in person before I purchase. This time I didn’t. These boots are awful to get on and off. I would think Rocky would put a loop on the back of every boot they make but nope.

These boots will be the last Rocky boots I ever buy and will list them on Marketplace within the week. These boots are warm but honestly look poorly built. I will be moving brands to Baffin. This is my 5 pair of Rockys and my last.

After researching 100’s of boots, $50 – $500 I settled on these as reviews were great, and price was more than reasonable. These boots are very warm, and that is saying something for someone who has ice cold feet! Not the easiest to put on, and the laces are little long but easy stuff.

The reason I did rate a 5 is they are not as light weight as some rated. I find them average to slightly heavier, but for the warmth, great trade off that I will take everyday.

I grew up on over 3000 acres, joined the Infantry at 19 and served 10 years, worked 20 years standing on concrete, hunted for over 40 years so you can say I have worn my share of boots. I have worn Timberlands to Cochran’s from rubber boots to G.

I. Issue and these are the best waterproof, insulated, comfortable, lighter, boots I could find. I looked at every brand and type and many of the top names have reviews that say the waterproof wears out in a year.

Didn’t see any leaky reviews on these. Hiked 4 miles in marsh lands today and feet were bone dry. I usually do this hike in rubber boots and my legs are beat by the time I get done. Rubber boots are heavy and awkward.

I felt good at the end of day and don’t expect sore legs in the morning. No break in period needed, no blisters or hot spots. Boots do feel a little big on your feet but that’s comparing them to a pair of Cochran’s and those are slippers, just not waterproof.

I knew they were good when I saw the Vibram soles. My feet and legs feel like I walked the dog in tennis shoes compared to my last walk in rubber boots. Only question I have is how long will the waterproof last? Expecting good performance.

Boots run true to size and my feet are a little wide and they fit fine in these. Order your true size.

I wore these for about a day inside the house and just were not that comfortable. Also made mostly of synthetic “leather” and thin nylon cloth on the camo part. Sole is not very thick. I put arch support insoles in them as soon as they were out of the box.

The sizing is 1/2 size larger than normal on me. I normally wear a 9 1/2 and the 9 fit fine. I ordered both sizes to see which one I needed. I sent back both pairs. I think with wearing them outside for my farm/ranch work they will not stand up to the wear and tear.

I am used to wearing Gen 4 Danner Pronghorns and Kenetreks, so way heavier and sturdier boots. I do wear Vaprtreks and will continue getting them as my “light duty” boots. These may work out for others, but I think they are over priced for what’s in them for me.

Picked these up on sale just this month for next hunting season. I’ve worn them on a few day hikes already to break them in and I noticed right away how warm they are. They seem to be very well made.

Would have given them a 5/5, but the grip on ice is basically nonexistent. I’ve never had boots that are “great” on ice. Some are better than other thought and the soles of these are too hard for any grip on ice.

It was just like hard plastic sliding on smooth ice. Every other surface I found the traction to be good enough for me, including hard packed snow that vehicles had driven over. So other than zero grip on ice, I think these boots are awesome!.

I have owned 3 pair of Grange boots over the years: 1) orig. O. D. green w/ the gusset @ the rear of the calf 2) orig. M. O. Breakup w/ the gusset @ the rear of the calf & 3) new style M. O. Bottomland w/ no rear calf gusset & an adjustable side tab.

The 3rd pair I wore once & turned around & sold them for 1/2 what I paid for them. They were extremely hard to put on & take off & did not allow you to tuck your pants in & were not nearly as comfortable as the original Grange.

I can not attest to their lack of durability, because I got rid of them about as soon as I bought them. The 1st two pair lasted for many years though & I tromped comfortably many miles through wetland bottoms Turkey hunting.

I wish I could get a hold of a pair of the original Granges.

They are a little bulky and have some weight to them but its expected cus of all the features (insulation, leather, aggressive sole, etc). They kept my feet warm and dry at first while taking Xmas lights down and burning brush while there was snow on the ground.

Aggressive sole dug into snow with no problem and didn’t slide and slip. BUT NOT waterproof. When I came inside noticed inside of boots were damp at the toe. Thought it was sweat, so let them dry out overnight.

Put them on again next day while in slushy snow for less than an hour. Came inside and took boots off. There was moisture again from slushy snow seeping into boot from the welt at the tip of the boot.

Returned to the local Tractor Supply store the following day. Only used them two times. Disappointed cus it’s a nice looking and comfortable boot that was going to be my hunting and winter work boot.

Maybe it was a faulty pair, but wasn’t willing to risk waiting for another pair to ship and end up with the same issue.

Great Gortex Waterproof Boots. Very warm with 1000 thinsulates. I had been looking for a boot that had the combination of a work boot, Gortex Waterproof, warm, and very rugged. I had a tough time finding everything I wanted in one type of boot.

Then I saw this pair of boots. The price was a really good deal for what you get out of this boot. I had to have Gortex, as they are the only type of boot that’s has ever kept my feet completely warm all day.

My last pair of Wolverine Gortex 1200 thinsulate lasted me almost 7 years It’s before they started to fall apart so I insisted that I get another pair of Gortex. I highly recommend these boots for anyone who works outside in the cold.

You won’t find a better pair of boots for the money.

Ok, this boot is comfortable, as long as you stay on flat ground. Beyond that I cannot recommend this for serious offtrail hunters. I bought these for hunting elk, & I am a serious hunter who goes where the elk are, which is steep & rugged country.

They were not up to the task. First off, the width is much too wide for my normal “D” sized foot. No matter how tight I pulled on shoe strings, I couldn’t get a tight fit. Consequently my foot slid around inside the boot when traversing across steep (& also not-so-steep) hillsides, causing quite uncomfortable foot jamming.

When walking across those steep hillsides, you need to dig the upper edge of soles into ground to keep from slipping. These boots offered little or no sideway support to do that: instead the soft leather allowed your foot to roll downhill, lossing the upper sole contact, thus slippage downslope.

A few minutes of this sidehill walking only made the lower leather to soften more, further asservating the problem. Also, the tread design doesn’t work well, even though they look aggressive. They would not hold on snow covered grassy slopes.

Part of problem with the tread is likely due to the formentioned poor side support, but I found even when going straight up a snowy slope, they did not hold well. Sorry, but I am retiring these boots after only 2 times out (I didn’t learn the 1st time) & will be looking for a brand name boot I’ve used in past & can depend on.

I’ve had two pairs of these boots now and both have leaked. The first set I use for a total of 3 weeks in the woods before they started leaking. I did not use any waterproofing on this boots. After contacting customer support Cabela’s exchange them for me suggested I use a silicone waterproof spray.

So I bought the spray and used it on the new boots. The second set of boots I’ve worn in the woods for about 10 trips. I walk on trails that are already made and there is a lot of water on my property.

The boots are not scratched the not torn they are not worn looking in any way. One of my boots was absolutely soaked on the inside. And the water I was walking through was only 6 to 8 in deep it did not go over the top.

I bought these boots because I need waterproof and I need warmth. I shouldn’t need spray waterproofing on a waterproof boot but I agreed to it. However that still did not work going, I will be contacting Cabela’s to try and resolve this issue and get a new set again.

Good stitching, double rivet roller bearing eye loops (should one rivet fail, there is two) quality material, very warm, and it’s not heavy. While it may be true to size for some, would recommend trying a pair on at the store before purchasing.

Normally wear a 9-9. 5. The size 10 felt okay length wise but really narrow. With the 11 that little bit of extra room does help alleviate some of that snugness on the side of the foot. If you can’t try them on before buying would recommend purchasing at least one full size larger and if it’s a half size then round up.

Deducted one star because it’s not wide enough.

I am on our local VFD and also participate in Search and Rescues. We got a call that individuals have fallen thru overflow. The temperature was noted at the time -30 out. I had these boots on at the time and were noticeably falling apart on the front and sides.

We had to push a boat in some slush and I was worried i would freeze my feet while getting in the slush because of the visible wear on the outside. The slush and water was nearly up to the “Cabela’s” logo and to my surprise, I DID NOT GET WET AND DID NOT FREEZE MY FEET.

I will be buying another set of these boots because they are truly proven boots and i would suggest these over bunny boots! Although after 4 season of heavy wear from hunting and hauling fire wood, it is time for a new pair as I finally felt moisture in my boots.

These are excellent boots. I used these for multi-day hunting hikes in Wyoming. Both in cold, snowy weather and on warmer (but still cool) dry days. I have covered about 50-miles in these boots so far and just love them.

I retrieved my bull elk in these and appreciated the stability in extreme vertical conditions even with a lot of weight to carry. When hiking, they boots are comfortable, warm, and very dry. My feet never got wet once, even while crossing creeks and hiking in deep snow.

They are pretty warm, too, but not so hot my feet got sweaty. Overall, an excellent hiking boot in cool to cold conditions.

I have had these boots for a few seasons now. I enjoy them for fall deer hunting, sitting or walking in the boots. I think the traction is good and support on your ankles. Fall they keep my feet plenty warm.

As the temps start to drop you might want to find a better pair of boots for your sitting. I normally wear thermal socks and toe warmers to combat the colder months to get by.

I purchased a pair of Red Head Expedition Ultra Bone-Dry boot with a Bass Pro gift card for the 2020 WNY deer season. I ended up using them very little that year and the following year the first time I used them one of the plastic rivets broke.

When I went to the Bass Pro in Cheektawaga, NY and told the young woman in the footwear section of the store about it, and asked if anything could be done, her response was “No, this is a known problem with those boots and walked away quickly.

As I stood there thinking about how customer service has become a thing of the past and how different Red Head products must be from before, I looked down and spotted a pair of the same boots on the shelf and they have the same rivets! Beware of a company that will knowingly put a product on their shelves with a known recuring failure.

Outfitters especially.

Comfortable, warm, waterproof. Great boot for still hunting in the northern Minnesota woods or sitting on stand in cold weather. Not too heavy for long walks. Nice and high for the occasional stream crossing.

Supportive while still allowing your ankles to move with the terrain. Good grip on slippery rocks and logs. Highly recommend. Wish I hadn’t waited so long and made due with other, lesser boots.

I had wanted a pair of SCHNEE”S BOOTS ever since I was a child. I would watch the professional hunters on the hunting shows Trek through deep snow and say how great the boots were and about how warm they kept their feet.

So I decided to get a pair for my hunting trip out west this year. I’ve worn them out and did a little squirrel hunting to beak them in but they didn’t need it. They fit like and old glove right out of the box.

Most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn right out of the box! And my feet stayed dry and warm. And the tread kept my steady on wet muddy trails. I would recommend these boots to anyone who wanted a great quality boot for hunting.

I ordered these knowing I would be spending a week in the Adirondacks hiking and spending time out doors. The hunter boots did not disappoint. They kept my feet and legs warm even standing on ice at -6.

I couldn’t be more thrilled to have mine and I also purchased a set of hunter II 10” for my girlfriend and her sentiments are exactly the same. So what are you waiting for?! Put those boots in your cart and get your own pair coming!.

Probably the best boots I’ve ever purchased. I used to buy some cheaper ones at academy and these are the first hunting boot I spent over $100 on. Walked out into a cow pond we were duck/goose hunting that I thought had solid ground.

I was mistaken. 23 degrees outside and I sunk in mud up to my knee. Boots filled up with water. I got on actual solid ground, dumped my boots out, wrang my socks out, and put everything back on. Everything was still pretty wet but the 1000 gram thinsulate literally kept them warm.

I was honestly shocked. Highly recommend.

Husband works on farm n also drives truck. He lives them. His feet are dry and warm. Thinking ima order myself a pair.

I bought this boots with the purpose of crossing a creek located in Azusa, CA. and let me tell you that I couldn’t walk properly in the beginning but after a few minutes practicing these boots made me feel like I was walking on the clouds.

Don’t forget that all outdoor shoes must be bought a size larger for maximum comfort.
