20 Best Pad For Dog Crate (2022 Updated)

This crate pad is well built, pricy and short of perfect like every other dog bed out there. I am giving it a 3 star rating because the foam pad itself, with the washable cover removed, is not water resistant at all.

Since the pad is neither machine washable nor water resistant, it kind of defeats the purpose of a crate pad. If you are crate training your puppy, hold off on buying one until your pup is able to fully control its bladder.

If your pup has an accident on this Snooz pad, the urine will seep through the cover, through the pad and down into the tray making a mess everywhere – so not only do you need to wash the washable cover and disinfect the tray with enzymatic cleaner, the foam pad acts like a sponge and soaks up some of the urine that didn’t completely pass through it.

Despite the instructions advising not to do so, I tossed the entire pad into the washer anyways and set it to run on cold + delicate. The foam puffed up from soaking all the water and disoriented itself from the pad’s thin casing due to spinning inside the washer, as expected.

I had to wring out as much water as I can from the washed pad, then completely air dry it outdoor in order for the foam to shrink back down enough so I can wrestle it and conform it back in place within its thin white case; this can be a two day ordeal, depending on the outdoor temperature (see photos).

Pain in the rear all around, but at least the foam pad is clean of urine. You’d expect paying this much for a crate pad that its pad casing would be like that of a child’s crib bed lining, made of thin plastic/vinyl water resistant material that you can easily wipe clean with a sponge or disinfectant wipe.

That is not the case with Snooz. I’ll be wrapping the foam pad with a thin plastic lining beneath the washable cover on the mean time until our pup is 100% accident-free. Also, how is the washable cover NOT machine dry-able??? Another annoyance.

Recommended with reservation. Pro-tip: If you dog sheds a lot, get a Snooz color that matches closest to the color of your dog’s fur so the excess fur doesn’t contrast against the Snooz pad as much.

After receiving this product, I really wanted to like the Snooz. The cover felt nice, the bed seemed of decent quality. My initial thought when we got the product was that it was incredibly overpriced.

Its a nice bed but I was expecting a remarkably top of the line, best of the best dog bed. Instead it felt relatively average. It works well in the sense that it is a bed that my dog enjoys laying on.

I do not believe the bed is water resistant, my puppy peed on it and it soaked through the entirety of the bed. When we attempted to wash the bed and the cover, the bed came out completely torn, misshapen, and damaged after ONE wash.

This bed is not cheap but unfortunately it is cheap. I would save your money.

This is a fantastic crate pad! The ONLY reason I knock off one star is the fact that you can’t buy replacement covers. I wish you could. Otherwise, it cleans so easily and dries pretty fast which is invaluable considering other pet items I have that are air dry only take over 12 hours in an apartment setting.

Not this though! I’ve only had one instance in almost 6 months where the cover was soaked though and I sprayed the dog spray I had on the foam insert cover. That resolved the issue which was nice though there is still a stain but that’s no problem.

In spite of the cover replacement issue (I just have some frayed corners), I strongly recommend this product!.

Great cushion, I use it as a ride/lay mat in the back of the truck. Once I get where I am going and after a long days work it comes in handy for the dogs to lay on, keeps them off the ground dry and comfortable.

Durability is the best, not chew proof although tuff as nails. I will assure you many years of great service unless it is lost or destroyed. Cleanup is easy, brush it off or hose it off let it dry and you are good to go.

I like these for the ruffland but I bought it for my car kennel. Unfortunately in the climate I am in they sweet really bad in my metal crate. For the Rufflands they are perfect!

I really liked this pad. My dog seemed to like it as well. He threw up on it once and had another mess on it another time. The cleaning was very easy. Just had to take it outside and spray it off with a hose.

It seemed durable, but after just a few weeks of having it, the dog decided to chew it up. If your dog doesn’t chew up his pad, I would recommend this product. Unfortunately for me, it was money down the drain.

The quality and design are very nice indeed but the main problem is when you start driving. It vibrates and makes noises. Usually I am not using any cases for my phones (s9 galaxy currently) and in that situation the noise is far too frustrating and it’s not happening just over bumps but even when I tried using a case, it was better but there was still an annoying noise.

I don’t think my holder got an issue, I think its design is the issue, the silicone that got in the edges it’s not fat enough thus the back of the phone in the center it’s touching the holder at place that got aluminium so that’s where the noise is coming from.

I expected an excellent quality and design for that price, which I found on the product but also an excellent noiseless result which is far away from perfect or excellent.

Very good quality case fits my i phone 5s very well. Bought as my i phone 5s occasionally would die without giving any notice so hopefully this battery case will stop that from happening. Too early to give feedback on battery life with case fitted but so far very pleased.

Very pleased with the unit, the only problem that I found with the unit was there is no memory for the volume control, so that every time that you switch it off and back on again you have to adjust the volume otherwise you could be defend by the volume.

I would of liked to have a tone button to adjust for treble, bass to suit my hearing.

I purchased 2 of these 14″x22″ self warming pads at a huge discount just to see if they were real and worked as described!! After receiving them I put them to the test and placed my hands on them and they began to heat up within seconds!! I have 4 outside kitties who have a Large Igloo Dog House and I have a xlarge Dog Pillow Bed inside it.

Unfortunately the Dog House is very cold with the temps being in the teens. The Pillow dog bed is 32″ wide by 48″ long and 5″ deep so I purchased 2 of the 14″ x 22″ long self warming pads and I stitched them together and now they are 28″wide by 44″ long.

By doing this it was cheaper to buy these in the smaller size instead of the xlarge size 32″x48″. Now this covers the Dog Pillow Bed inside the Igloo Dog House Perfectly and 3 of the 4 kitties are inside and are laying like they have central heat on!! Again Chewy has given a great price on a item so I could buy it just to test it and it has been a 100% satisfaction by me and 3 of my sweet Kitties!! I am going to purchase 2 more so I can fix my other outside kitty a bed inside a storage tote so he will have a warm place to sleep!!! He is a loner and doesn’t want to share with the other 3 outside kitties.

The other 3 are a Mother cat and her son and daughter who are now 6 years old and they still love to sleep by their Mother. I feel so Blessed to be able to have kept them together when the pregnant mother cat found her way to my back door 6 years ago!!! All of them are so precious and spoiled so they depend on me for everything so I try to help them when and where I can!! We do TNR of the cats in our neighborhood. We used to keep the cats in the traps while they recovered (that is what is recommended for feral cats), but this time we decided to transfer them to cages so they would have more room.

So, we bought four of these cages. They are great!! This allowed the cats to have access to a litterbox, as well as a small carrier/bed to hide away in, and still have plenty of room for their food and water.

I love the double doors!! Having a door on both the end and side made it so much easier to clean up the cage, and interact with the cats that weren’t feral. :).

We LOVE these new self-warming pads! They are great quality for a super price (haven’t washed yet, so not sure how that will go, but I suspect great as well); nice color and soft fabric; sized just right (I bought small for my smaller animals); they are obviously warm; they fit well in a crate or bed due to the side slits; so many great qualities! I bought some for my inside dogs (they sleep better than us humans do!), and also bought some to put in my outside “feral” cat houses so those critters can stay warm and out of the elements this winter.

They apparently love them because I noticed they had been slept on inside the cat houses in the recent cold nights we’ve had. Now if I could just convince my neighbors to spay/neuter/adopt, but that is a whole other story! Buy with confidence, you’ll be glad you did!.

Price is right, so I have one of these in the travel crate for my Lab as well as a second I keep out in my shop for the dog to lay on while she is out there with me. Well made, and I have found them ti be durable, especially for a puppy who is in a mouthing & chewing stage.

I also like the fact that I can easily clean the pads with water and “scrubby”-sponge soaked in dish detergent. I then hose it off and put it in the sun to dry. Could probably be thrown in the clothes dryer as well with no ill effects.

Pippy is a world class picky eater, probably because she came as a rescue with some dreadful GI issues and simply didn’t want to trust anything. On top of that, she would vomit almost daily. Our wonderful ver team figured that out but it requires sticky medicine twice daily.

When the stix came out the web blew up with folks praising these as “kitty crack” especially for picky paws. Pippy loves these so much (salmon and tuna) that I can mix her medicine in and she laps it up.

Sure, it took a few days and she kept giving me the “do you really think I don’t know what you’re doing” look, but she wanted the treat so much she gave in. Now she wakes me up every morning at 6 to get her “tuna treat” – then waits patiently for the medicine to take effect before breakfast.

And sometimes she is just so sweet when she begs for a freebie that I can’t resist.

After buying the variety pack, I realized my cat only liked the chicken and chicken and duck. So I went out and bought only those broths. But it seems more dense than the one I had in the variety pack, not much broth.

With I think is weird, since what I’m trying to do I add moisture to his dry food. He still eats it up, but the consistency is different. Maybe it’s just this batch? No sure. I checked the expiration date, it doesn’t smell weird, seems fine, minus the lack of broth.

I’m constantly trying to get my kittens to drink enough water a day as they are pretty bad at it. Enter the Tiki Cat broths. They love it! I give them the Salmon flavor occasionally but they also love the Chicken flavor.

I dilute one pack with warm water on a 1:1 ratio per cat and they lap up the whole thing and licked the plate clean. It was so satisfying to watch and I’m glad they are getting their hydration intake for the day.

My German Shepherd Dog has never chewed on her Furhaven Faux Fur & Velvet Sofa Dog Bed that is located in our in living room. She is fully crate trained and is provided toys in her crate for nap-time.

However, within two days of receiving the Furhaven Water-Resistant Kennel Pad, she tore it to pieces. The material is not durable enough to withstand chewing, even if your dog does not normally have destructive behavior.

I would ask Furhaven for a replacement or order another one, but I’m not sure the product is worth $32. 99.

These are not as easy to find as you would think. Nice padding with a casing that isn’t so easily chewed or ripped up bu a puppy! I went through 5 other kinds of kennel padding and beds before finding this one.

Our puppy Bella has a thing about scratching up whatever is underneath her when she is mad that she is in her kennel. This one has held up over a week and I heard her trying to scratch at it so I am VERY SATISFIED!!! Easily cleaned with a wipe or soapy rag when she has an accident.

I purchased an indoor/outdoor memory foam bed and a crate mat. We use the indoor/outdoor bed in the crate and the crate mat in the basement on a cement floor. They are exactly what I expected based on the descriptions.

I am happy with the quality of the materials. My dog seems content to lie on them, and her fur does not get stuck in the fabric. I have yet to wash it, but don’t see why it wouldn’t hold up.

I purchased 4 of these. Originally, I purchased an extra-small one for my female duck to use as a nest in our duck house. Oddly, each of my 3 drakes would take turns sitting/laying in it on the eggs.

I thought this was a perfect bed for them, with the exception of a small tear in one corner, since it was being used as a nest I didn’t worry about it, eventually, I purchased 3 more (2 extra small and medium) for the other 3 ducks so they could have their own beds, yes they use them, except the female LOL, she only used it to lay her eggs.

When I purchased the other 3 and returned home, each of those had a hole in the corner of the bed as well. I could maybe understand if these were cat beds and it was there for catnip or something but there’s nothing like that for dogs.

Since they were rather cheap I left well enough alone, besides it not like my ducks can dig any of the bedding in the corners out.

I bought this to put inside a crate. It fits perfectly. It is lightweight and thin. It is not like a fluffy mat, it is just better than the floor. It is soft enough. Easy to wash, I just throw it in the washer and dryer.

For what I needed it is perfect. Because anyways I put some fluffy blankets inside the crate. Great size. And the color is perfect.

I bought this for a pregnant dog I rescued. She had her puppies while in my care. I put them in a dog crate I already had so I wanted another mat so I could swap them out if need be. Who would’ve thought that a simple dog mat could be so bad? This mat sheds horribly.

There was lent everywhere – all over mom’s belly and the puppies. I returned immediately. For the price, the quality was very poor.

My Golden Retriever has anxiety issues and ripped through 2 high quality expensive beds in 2 nights. She is crated at night because she’s a little naughty and has been known to chew through cords and steal shoes and help herself to cat food and worse cat litter 🤢 so we crate her at night.

Luckily I work from home so night is really the only time she’s unsupervised. Anyways I was feeling like I was going to have no choice but to crate her without anything comfortable to lay on as I was afraid she would swallow some filling and end up with a bowl obstruction ( too much Dr.

Jeff ) leaving us with a big problem. So I decided to do a search and came across K9 Ballistics and their chew proof armored did crate bed. This bed is incredible. It’s almost like a cot but you can tell it’s comfortable.

I’m actually a bit tempted to crawl in there with her and cuddle up sometimes. I have watched her scratch at this bed like she’s trying to dig a hole, not one mark and it’s easy to wipe down. She is a Pomeranian so that MIGHT be part of it, it’s definitely why I can’t crawl in her crate and cuddle with her…… I kidd, she’s a Golden Receiver.

For those not familiar she is a receiver of love but not much of a giver but I think that’s because there’s more to her story then she’s shared, she’s coming along though and now her bed can handle anything she throws it’s way.

I don’t normally do reviews because I have too much fun writing about our little furr lives but this was worthy of a review and the possible get to the point suffering of its reader’s 😊.

This elevated bed was purchased for our dog after she destroyed a prior bed. Once received, it was put together and we attempted to get our dog to lay on it. She did not want anything to do with it. We tried placing her on the bed and she immediately walked off it.

The bed also did not appear to be chew proof as claimed and is not worth the $150 paid for it. We decided to return the bed before it was damaged by our dog. After receiving instructions to return the bed for a refund, we were told the bed was not new anymore when they received it and it was not able to be sold again.

K9 Ballistics would only offer store credit. They claimed we removed a tag from the bed even though we didn’t. We never had a reason to remove anything from the bed being our dog did not like the bed.

K9 Ballistics has poor customer service and does not care about their customers like top businesses do. So they will not issue a refund and after calling about this they will not send the product back.

They will only offer store credit which is unacceptable especially when it is clear we purchased an item from them and returned it in new condition within the 30 day return window. We have already replaced our dog’s bed with a $40 elevated bed from Amazon which has a valuable return policy for its customers.

Our dog loves that bed and immediately got comfortable on it when we got it. Our dog has had it for almost two weeks now and its has not been damaged…not sure the same would have been said about this bed.

Over the last two years I have purchased a chew proof armored cot, I was so impressed that my 8 week old ASD couldn’t chew or destroy in some way that I ordered him a bolstered bed for his one Year birthday.

The bolster bed is absolutely amazing completely 100% indestructible and so comfortable! We brought home my new Kangal puppy two weeks ago for my birthday and she claimed my boys cot by the third day.

Since he is two now he has kinda outgrown it just a bit so today we just received the new padded chew proof armored cot for him. This time he climbed on it and posed just to show how proud he is of his K9 Ballistics beds! I’ve had large and giant breeds for 40 years and the dog beds I have gone through could probably claim it’s own section at the landfill not to mention the constant replacement cost!! Thanks guys for making the absolute best beds and cots out there.

You truly have a customer for life and everyone I talk to I refer them to K9 Ballistics!!! There is something to be said for the statement: “You get what you pay for” and those people that see the price and go oh that’s expensive have never added up how many beds and blankets they have already gone through….

We love this crate pad! Please bring back the extra large’s! I’ve been waiting for them. I’m going to have to order it on P. L. A. Y’s site. I do layer it on top of another Frisco ortho crate bed that I love because my one husky is getting older & the other although only 4 yrs.

old has IVDD & hip dysplasia. So I like to have the extra padding for them. My babes love it!My chewer who will chew the frisco pad underneath it any chance he gets, does not bother trying to chew this one even though it’s on top.

The is a beautiful coral color with a tan/taupe underside. It’s nicely cushioned. My pup loves. I should’ve bought a large instead of a medium since I’m not using it as a crate pad. It’s her place to when she’s eating treats and just relaxing.

Really love this crate mat! Fits perfectly in our intermediate Ruffland kennel and adds a pop of color. Our pup seems to like it and I love that it’s machine washable. Would definitely purchase again in the future.

New pup, new crate We got a crate for our new pup and we love the look of it and the way the pad fits in so perfect. The one thing that’s concerning to me is the quality of the plastic. I know it’s not meant for chewing but with a puppy it’s inevitable at least some what and even though we stop him when we notice it he has still done significant damage to one of the clips in the front.

That’s a little disheartening since we’ve only had it a month and doesn’t bode well for the longevity of the crate. We shall see! Super easy to set up and otherwise a nice crate.

Perfect home for our little girl We received the new kennel very quickly and it only took 5 minutes to put it together. The first kennel we bought for her was soft nylon/mesh and she managed to chew holes in the mesh.

Don’t have to worry about her doing that with this. Plus the color looks good in our bedroom. It’s perfect for our little princess!.

Gorgeous crate – easy to travel with and our pup loves it! Our puppy Corgi learned how to chew the zippers off his soft sided crate and once that knowledge fell upon his large ears, we couldnt figure out where to go! We travel a lot and a big metal crate was not going to cut it.

I have a senior doggy with severe arthritis, so I bought this just to see if it would help her any. I can’t really say on the heating of the pad, as I barely notice anything when I sit on it. But it’s soft, which my dog loves, and it covers her spot on the couch, keeping hair and dirt off of the couch.

I only took one star off because I don’t think it really heats, or traps heat. If it was a regular sturdy mat, then five stars as it is high quality and comfy when placed on the couch.

So our girl Mimi was a rescue, she is about 10 years old and 45 pounds now !! She seems to see a kennel as a safe spot for her, so we bought her an oversized open kennel without the door so she can go in and out as she pleases.

She has latched on to our entire family and adores my children and cats (4) as much as they adore her. We bought her this bed and she absolutely loves it, she literally fell asleep on it in her kennel as soon as we put it in.

We are thinking of buying several more of these self warming beds only bigger just so we can spoil her and place them around the house so she can feel as this house is as much hers as it is ours and feel that everywhere in this house is her safe.

We are so thankful for this item because it has seemed to allow her to have peace and feel comfortable enough to sleep soundly. We highly recommend this bed to everyone 100%!!.

I chose this pad to support American products, and businesses, and for its washability and natural fibre content. It doesn’t move around, is supportive, the brown solid color works for us, the sewing and matching up is perfect.

Time will tell when summer comes around if it will be too hot – I doubt it, due to the natural fibers. The price reflects these particulars. My dog just loves it and can snuggle into it, but when he leaves his crate in the morning, I have to close the door as our cat has taken quite the liking to it! In fact, she has slept on it in the daytime for many days until I put a halt to that.

She has many other places to sleep! I highly endorse this pad. (And their crate covers, too. ).

I was excited about this purchase, especially for its wool fill and cotton covering, which is hard to find in dog beds that are mostly made out of polyesters. But I was very disappointed to see that this bed does not hold its shape over time.

In a few months of using, the wool started to bunch up inside the bed not providing an even surface to sleep on and my dog was not happy about it. The color also started to fade, but that is a lesser concern than the comfort issue.

I expected better for this price point and brand.

i’m a realist is not really grey to me. It is very dark brown. I am not too happy with it. I feel that it is not fair that I have to pay for shipping when I want to exchange. I read information about that grey color.

When I recieved a crate pad cover, I was puzzled that it was not really grey to me.

Very happy with this purchase! My dog absolutely loves her new crate mat/bed. She would never use her nice “bolster” type bed so I finally gave it away. It seems that she loves to stretch out on a flat surface when she’s sleeping.

She is a 9 year old, 75# Black and Tan shepherd mix with long fur and double coat. This is a really nice mat whether used as a crate mat or as a bed. It’s well constructed and I think it’s good value for the price.

My dog is totally happy on it. This is perfect for her with the 3” memory foam and she’s loving it!.

I am very disappointed in this product. The layer of memory foam is very thin, and there isn’t much cushion. There is a large advertising tag sewed into two corners of the cover, which must be removed prior to use.

The tag can not be torn or cut off without damaging the bed cover. The cover is made of a thin, loosely woven material that tears easily. This is a poor quality product, and not worth the cost.

I ordered one for each of my 11 year old dogs’ end table crates and they love them! Especially my little Morkie that has arthritis and knee problems, he even goes back in during the day to lay on it rather than on my sofa, so it must be very comfortable to him as he always liked to lay on that sofa before I got the new crate mattress, he never did that with the under two year old “My Pillow” dog mattress I bought to try to help ease his joints! Even my larger dog no longer has to be ordered into her crate for the night, now when I say “It’s time to go nite-nite” they race to their crates and are inside waiting for me to close the doors before I even make it into the room!.

I purchased this for my cat’s carrier. It’s very soft and stays put in the carrier when she’s in it. I have a PetMate medium-sized carrier, and was looking for one to fit it perfectly. However, this is the closest one I could find.

The width fits well inside the carrier, but the length is about 4 inches too long. I just fold the extra length under and it works – which is why I gave it a 4 rating.

Got it on sale, so that was good. Not my favorite color, but cheap, and goes into carrier, so doesn’t really matter. It’s soft. The cats like it. But it’s not very thick. So if you’re looking for any cushioning, this is not it.

And while it states it fits in the small 24″ kennel, take note it means the wire sided kind. With the straight sides. I didn’t notice that. I bought several to go into the plastic kennels and it is too big.

But the 3 stars is for the non-skid bottom. It is definitely NOT non-skid. Slides around as much as the towels I usually use, which is what I was trying to replace. One of the thicker mats with the side bolsters would probably work better.

The non slip backing doesn’t work in the crate I use in the car for my 12 pound Havanese dog. It slips around a lot! And it’s not a large crate, the pad fits the bottom exactly. Also the pad is very furry on top and I expected my dog would be tearing the fur out.

So far she hasn’t torn anything but she has been under the pad for one car ride. The next time she flipped it over and was laying on the backside of the pad and the next time she moved the pad to block the door of the crate.

Maybe it’s just her amusing herself but the pad doesn’t work as I intended.

I bought this for my Bernese Mountain dog. It was great for a little while but as soon as his puppy teeth got through the very thin bottom of the mat it was game over. He did not rest until the padding was out of it.

So if you have a small dog, it should be fine but I just wish the material under the mat was a bit more durable.

This fit perfectly in the 500 series dog crate I bought for interstate travel with my lab in the cargo hold. It is comfortable and kept her warm. I recommend.

This mat is good quality and washes well. It’s just enough cushion without being too thick in the crate. I took off a star because it has a “grippy” surface on the underside that doesn’t work at all.

My dog still slides the mat all over the crate when she rolls around.

The kennel mat is very well made. The top is soft without catching every stray hair or bit of flotsam brought in with the pet; easy to brush off. The bottom has good traction so it does not slip. And it is washable! A must! A very good product at an excellent price.

This fit our dog’s medium kennel perfectly! It is a little thin but I wanted something easy to wash. Our dog doesn’t mind the thinness as she loves laying on carpet over her cushioned dog bed. I’m very pleased with this purchase.
