20 Best Pads For Sports Period (2022 Updated)

So I was prompted Three times to add a picture or video of this “product in action” but hopefully everyone is ok with leaving this one blank. I am not making fun of our periods or shaming products because this is something most women have felt embarrassed abut at least once if not 20 times in their lives.

The wording just made me laugh. Regardless, I tried this product because Walgreens has a $1 section and I needed something in the middle of a work shift and this was what my co-worker brought back. I can honestly say that you couldn’t tell I had a full absorption pad under my skinny jeans.

Plus I was bartending a busy shift, moving around a lot and the product moved with my body and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable or unhygienic by any means. I’d say if a pad could be “breathable” this would be one of the closest examples I can think of to match that word.

I don’t know if there is still any stigma within a certain age group regarding tampons vs pads (and now menstruation cups and something called “period panties”) but the bottom line is it isn’t safe to keep a tampon inserted after a certain length of time (depending on size of product and flow) and this is a good alternative that absorbs well and isn’t visible.

So that is my first review like that ever and I hope it wasn’t too terrible or embarrassing. Cheers All!.

My girls love these for there sports & workouts & period use, they seem to love them. And the ask for these by name. I like them myself just i wish they would fit my underwear much better have easer removal, have more of a bigger size & flow absorbshion pluses extra softness like natural base cotton core, a natural aloe or lavender soothing and have vaginal health propertys yes these pads are good pads for what they are.

We women needs a great pad for vaginal health propertys to help with extra moisture & leakage due to over active bladders, and overian cancers, HPV who wants to a thin protective pad that protects them and stay active life style.

I know i do, but if I could make it a pad this is how I would think In design and for vaginal health inspire of my mom who has vaginal cancer. Thankyou!.

Best Pad ever for any woman who ‘moves’ during her period. I live actively and cannot use tampons. These pads are the best shape, absorbency and secure stick for anyone who likes living during their period.

No other pad compares! (The cleanwear ones that have ‘replaced’ these fitness ones are only good if you like being stuck on the couch watching TV for a week and even then they’re rough, stiff and same old shape as every other mediocre pad put these.

) Please bring them back!!! Why mess with the perfect product. If it wasn’t selling well it wasn’t the product’s fault it was lack of advertising by Kotex.

I’ve worn Kotex ever since I started my period in 1987. When the thinner pads like these came out, they became my ultimate favorite and it was all I would ever use. Over the past year, the last couple packages I’ve used are terrible quality.

The top layer of the pad comes off after only a little while and makes a mess with blood on all layers. The glue on the bottom has left “traintracks” in my underpants and they do not come off. The outer packaging is thin and does not stay sealed.

When I have them in my purse, they open and become unsanitary. Please go back to how they were. I have recently been using Carefree’s newer line of pads instead. At least they do not fall apart and don’t leave me with a bloody mess in my pants.

I will not buy your products again unless this issue is fixed.

Kotex is ALWAYS my go to. It doesn’t feel like plastic, they are comfortable, and they get the job done. However, I am highly disappointed in the new individual packaging of the pads. The trifold design where the whole thing opens and peels off the pad makes me feel like I’m putting on a diaper.

I’m a grown woman, I don’t want to feel like I’m putting on a diaper. Also the old packaging with the little pouch was very convenient with discreetly discarding of the product after use. Rolling it up doesn’t keep it all covered.

Please bring back the old packaging.

I have been using Kotex for probably over 20 years and have never had any complaints. I would have given them 5 stars with no hesitation. In the past year, you have changed the quality of the pouch. It is now almost completely unusable.

It is a hassle to open, and I have yet to open a pouch without ripping it. And so it doesn’t stay closed when disposing. I will be switching to a different brand due to these problems. If Kotex fixes things, I will come back.

I used to use these all the time before I had issues finding them. Finally found them again and I’m extremely disappointed with this product. I don’t remember them being so cheaply made despite being budget friendly.

They feel cheap and the adhesive on the wings and pad itself is not very sticky so it’s hit or miss on whether or not it adheres properly. The packaging of the individual pads are not properly sealed at least in the box I bought.

Some of them were coming open already, had tears in the packaging, or they were stuck together and they tore open when I took them apart. I also don’t feel like they have great odor control (I have used this for the last bit of postpartum lochia but also for my first postpartum menstrual cycle).

I’ll give them credit – they ARE absorbent despite being ultra thin which is a plus. However I do not think I’ll ever buy these again.

The Teen/Tween line has always been my favorite line since starting my period 10 years ago. These pads had such fun designs and fit my smaller body perfectly. But every single ‘new look’ has gotten less and less fun.

I loved the stars and hearts back in the Tween packaging and even the zig-zags but now these pads have the exact same design as the Clean Wear line (which is just boring dots currently), the only difference is that the Teen line is smaller.

There’s nothing exciting about them. I probably won’t buy them again until the next design change. I know I’m in my 20’s now and don’t need it but the pads used to come with a small little pamphlet with some education about your first period and a little calendar tracker, I thought these were always good for younger girls.

I have used U by Kotex products for at least 7 years now. I’m not sure why they decided to change the products but you can clearly tell these are not the same pads they used to be. They’re SO FLIMSY.

They move constantly whereas before they NEVER moved. They’re also thinner but not in a good way. They feel extremely cheap and even with the heavy or overnight you go through them QUICK. You’re using twice as much with this inferior product so spending twice as more.

I don’t think that’s a coincidence since companies always want more of your money for less of theirs. I’m definitely finding a different company for pads/tampons and you should too.

*Warning: TMI Ahead*. I really wanted to find a practical alternative for my usual Bamboo and Charcoal cloth pads. We have a family vacation coming up, and I really didn’t want to bother washing pads on vacation, whether mine or any of my daughters’.

I haven’t used disposable pads years, and just one night of trying these “over night” pads made me remember why. I don’t know about the rest of you ladies, but when I sleep, I want to feel comfortable, clean, dry, and refreshed in the morning.

My attempt of trying these made me question “modern technology,” really. Like monthly cycles aren’t terrible enough punishment, can we not induce more suffering. I know, you’re thinking, a modern menstrual pad can’t be THAT bad.

Oh yes, they can, and these are!! Within the first hour of wear, I had to attempt adjusting the pad at least 3 times because it kept folding and wedging itself in my rear. By the time I was ready to crawl in bed for the Night, I knew this misshapen pad had to go in the trash.

So what do I do, I give a second pad a try, being extra careful to make sure the wings and entire length where properly placed and stuck to my undies. I made sure to make minimal movement before falling asleep, oh sweet sleep.

NOT!! I swear, the terrible itchy and raw feeling that this pad caused woke me up before I could even fall asleep, can you guess why? That carefully placed liner rolled itself up like a burrito with wings and at least half of it’s sticky backside was sticking to mine.

Thanks for reminding me that nature is best treated naturally. A few minutes of sacrificed time washing pads is a million times better than the misery that these torture devices caused.

All I can say is how lucky I am that I happened to have a box of the Always Radiant Teen Pads Get Real Regular because my 10 year old (OMGosh, yes 10 year old) daughter just stated her period for the first time! She knew everything about periods and what to do, which made this easier, but she was so excited there were pads designed for younger girls, like her! I’m pretty sure that if she had to use one of mine in her underwear it would be like a diaper, lol.

I have two teen daughters and I got these because so thought they were a smaller size. I don’t actually think they are really much smaller if any. I had to use one when I ran out and it seemed to fit just like a regular size one pad would.

I noticed no difference in the absorbency either. I have nothing bad to say because this style in this brand is awesome. They are super comfortable and unscented. The only thing that could make them better is if they can with a without wings option.

My daughters and I don’t really care for wings so I try to only find options without them. It seems most of them have wings unfortunately. These are thin and flexible which helps keep them unnoticeable which I feel is very important for young girls while in school.

Other than giving more wingless options, another improvement for these would be quiet and more discreet wrappers.

Im so disappointed these have been discontinued. Nothing compares, they had the best shape and feel, no rashes at all. literally nothing compares. I had stocked up and recently ran out only to come and find they have been discontinued.

I had tried the clearwear as a replacement that Kotex suggested here and am so disappointed. The pad is DISINTEGRATING AS I WEAR IT. Not to mention the shape is nothing like the fitness and horrible all around.

My daughter used them and had no issues with leaks and they are thin enough that they were comfortable to wear. They aren’t quite enough for heavy days, but are perfect for the lighter days. I have peace of mind that they are made of organic cotton and aren’t introducing harmful chemicals into her body.

I have used natural cotton pads for the lady times for many years now, and had a store brand I liked for a while, but couldn’t find them anymore. Tried a bunch and basically didn’t like most of them.

I buy this set of two types every month and it basically is the perfect amount of each. It’s great that they make this kit that’s so easy to order in one swoop. Makes my life so easy. They are comfy to wear, just sticky enough, and the absorbency/length is just the right amount.

I wouldn’t know what to do if I had to change brands cause these are so awesome.

I love the idea of these and avoiding the toxins in the regular brands. But they leak easily, and I have to change them 3-5 times more than any other pad. They are way thinner than you would expect a “regular” pad to be.

I have to change them so often that it seems like I will probably go through the whole box in one period, which is not at all what I planned on. They cover such a tiny area, and because they have wings, you can’t even move them around to where you want them very well.

I hate that this company only makes liners without wings. Maybe I will try to track down some of the super ones, which don’t seem to be available in any targets near me, and see if they are any better on the other issues.

I’ve been using for 3 months and I’m considering a new brand. The chemicals, fragrance, and dyes in mainstream brands causes yeast infections for me so I have to use natural/organic maxi pads. I started with This is L but they’ve gone downhill over the years in terms of quality.

I tried Rael and that was a no right away. I’ve been using Cora now for about 3 months and I do like them but they leak out of the sides! I wear an overnight during the day at work, I have to remember to change every 2 hours otherwise it will leak into my pants, and that’s annoying.

I don’t know how these could be marketed as overnight. My flow isn’t heavy either! I really wanted to love these but they’re just not holding up like I want them too. I will continue to use them, for now, until I find something different but just be weary of the leaks!.

This is unsanitary and can cause so much damage to women. So hearing that every box purchased, helps someone in need, made me feel better. The overall pad feels super soft and the packaging is the least to say pretty but powerful as it is not colorful but informative.

The pads are absorbent and I actually have no big complaints on the pad but it is a little less adhesive. This most likely is to remain as natural and organic as possible. They do offer other products like organic tampons and I have also purchased those as others made me in a way almost feel itchy while inside.

and I had allergic reactions due to whatever chemicals are in the other brands. our bodies are strong yet sensitive at the same time so what we put on our skin or in our bodies matters a great deal. The pads I would definitely recommend.

I tried these out for just a day and realized they are much too thick for me. I normally purchase thin pads with wings, but I saw that these were extra long with wings and decided to give them a try.

First, I learned while wearing these that I do not like to feel like I am wearing a diaper or postpartum undies. And because these go so far up the buttocks, I feel like my pad can be seen through my pants since I mostly wear stretch pants or jeggings for comfort.

I brought these at the start of month ready for that time. I’ve been needing some more and on arrival at the shop the product I would usually get had ran out. However to the immediate left I saw these and thought why not.

Well I’m not kidding it was the best choice I ever made, I’m a heavy bleeder and constantly bleed onto the sheets. Since wearing these I’ve still been bleeding the same amount but the pad is never fully absorbed on removal which is so surprising because it’s not that thick.

And I’ve not bled through to the sheets yet!! There also comfy and genuinely are comfy for something in your pants 4hrs a time. They don’t leave me with marks like others do and I can easily sleep and change positions In the night l.

I’ve been using always for 20 + years now, but stopped using the green ones because of chaffing whilst having random cycles now I thought I’d try the sensitive towels instead. I’m glad I did try as I was pleasantly pleased with the feel of these.

Sensitive is actually what they are. No chaffing no uncomfortable days. So yes I would recommend for any lady with slight bleeding that is causing sensitivity.

If i could rate these a 0 I would. I normally wear organic cotton pads but I ran out and bought these in a pinch, worst decision ever. They were not soft or comfortable and rubbed so badly that I became itchy after one day.

The itching and other issues progressed after stopping using them so I had to get some medication. Was itchy for a solid week. Not to mention they don’t stay in place at all. Worst product ever will never buy these again.

I can’t stand pads with wings, and it’s gotten kind of hard to find pads without them lately, so it has been great to discover these. They are long, very absorbent pads with a very sticky adhesive on the backside to attach them to your panties.

No messing around with annoying wings! These are unscented, which is good. To be honest, though, I don’t like long pads, and I only wear them when I have to. However, the length of these didn’t really bother me! That’s very surprising to me, but I think it’s because the pad itself is so thin.

Our periods suck enough already, why are you gleefully forcing us to hate them more? I get that there are some who women who are blessed with a lighter than air period but for the rest of us, well we were gifted with a monsoon of slime.

I understand the need for a more compact tampon. That doesn’t mean that you get rid of what works. The “click” is too flimsy, gives an ineffective application and doesn’t absorb anything. You can’t tell me to my face that that tiny tube holds nearly as much these standard tampons.

I would be willing to say something nice about the “click” if they were made more sturdy, had a ledge that you could actually hold on to, and absorb as much as these did. But if you were to change them.

well then you should have kept these then, yeah? I will buy ANY brand that has some sense left and continues to make tampons that work over your nonsense trash. I spent the last 6 months buying the Walmart brand of these exact ones until THEY did a dumb thing and discontinued these as well.

I feel like panty liners need to start having a “sample display” in the aisle next to the product like they used to do with LEGS Pantyhose! Anyone who remembers that, I just gave away my age. Or, for those born 1990 and after, something like a lipstick display where you can get a pretty close idea of the color you’re buying.

Point Here: These are Waaaaay more narrow then they used to be. I mean, if I wanted a teeny tiny little patch for a daily liner I could use a bandaid and not spend $6 on a box of cotton I’m going to throw away.

Since these are pretty good quality compressed cotton, perhaps I’ll cut them into makeup pads and use to remove my makeup. Should last me for the remaining yrs of my life. So, I purchased a box of 96 Long & the smaller box of the Regular.

I’ll have to wind up using 2 regular to make one of the same product they used to be. If I could’ve given 3. 4 stars, that’s really what I would’ve rated this as bc the only thing that’s really changed is the sizing.

The rest I like and favor these over most others bc (a) NO FRAGRANCE; (b) never shreds; (c) no adhesive issues on or off; (d) holds up for an entire day, that’s a big PLUS. Just very frustrated and aggravated with how companys are trying to increase profits in a real shady, deceptive kinda way.

Such as, shaving 2 mm off the sides of a liner and charging the same amount. Listen folks, bleepin charge an extra. 50 cents and make them the width they used to be that covers an entire panty. Not some thin brazillian-wax landing strip that serves only as lingerie decoration.

I’ll buy lace panties if I want that. When I buy a “DAILY LINER” – ACHEM, operative word here is: LINER. As in, line the panty for the day. that’s all I got. thanx for listening.

I have been using these liners for 20 years. They are the only ones that didn’t bother my Vulvadynia. About 4 years ago there was a change and I have to keep on ointment to avoid the Vulvadynia swelling and bleeding.

Recently with the change to this box design I noticed the liners also changed. At first application the adhesive doesn’t keep the liner in place, so I have to be extremely cautious pulling up pants and sometimes need to try again as sideways liners are uncomfortable.

I notice that within the hour the cotton starts to separate from the adhesive “Plastic”. The liner leaves behind a massive amount of adhesive that the washing machine does not remove. Literally can go from not sticking to leaving behind adhesive.

If I went much longer, I would be like the pictures in other reviews of the plastic staying behind on the pants. The company advice to use oil to remove is ridiculous as that ruins the underwear. I have used vinegar to dissolve glue from students’ hair and classroom table and floor, so I will be trying that in my wash.

Why does Kotex keep changing how the liners are made? Each change is adds to the negative column.

They removed the long strip of waxy paper that use to keep the adhesive from sticking (they did something similar a few years ago with the wings) so now the pad sticks to the wrapper leaving the adhesive less tacky which causes movement.

I’m sure the company will find a way to blame COVID, but I think these companies looking for more ways to increase profit with little regard to quality. I guess it’s time to start considering Diva Cup type options.

They removed the long strip of waxy paper that use to keep the adhesive from sticking (they did something similar a few years ago with the wings) so now the pad sticks to the wrapper leaving the adhesive less tacky which causes movement.

I’m sure the company will find a way to blame COVID, but I think these companies looking for more ways to increase profit with little regard to quality. I guess it’s time to start considering Diva Cup type options.

Ive been using these pads for about 20 years, everyday for both period and incontinenance. They are the only ones i loved and could use and lately the quality has certainly taken a turn for the worse.

I’ll start with manufacturing issues- The new pads arent as adhesive, they slide, bend, and move during use, often become lumpy, they no longer stay in place to provide coverage. The less adhesiveness causes more leaks.

They often come damaged with some kind of purple stain on them. Bring back the extra strip of plastic wrapper. These new pads stick more to skin than to actual fabric. They also ruin manicures while unwrapping them the glue sticks to hands, nails.

My biggest concern is comfort level- has the formula changed?? They are now causing my skin to be extremely itchy which is not at all comfortable. For the first time in decades— I am now in search of other pads.

Very disappointed. These pads were a guarantee in my life and now a total let down. It wasnt broke, it didnt require “fixing”. Quality for women care shouldnt cut corners.

I read other peoples reviews before i bought them, but i thought id go ahead and try them anyway. Theyre relatively thin. But like many people said in their reviews they definitely DONT want to stick to your underwear.

I positioned them in my underwear and applied the wings. When I went to the bathroom not 15 minutes later the “wings” had already came loose and were all twisted up and stuck to themselves. The pad itself was barely hanging on.

Theyre too expensive to have to be just throwing them away. When I went to the store I bought some double stick lingerie tape im going to try using when I have to go out in public. They seem to have a moderate amount of absorbancy.

Hopefully theyll work for my bursts I have when I stand up and won’t embarass me. But I think I’ll be looking for something better.

I received the Poise Extra Coverage Liners for free to try and review. I gave this product 3 out of 5 stars. My main reason for 3 stars is because the liners would not stay in place. Upon pulling down my underwear when going to the restroom it would always be pushed in on the left and right.

On one specific occasion it even became detached from my underwear and was just between my legs when I went to change it. Due to that my underwear was not protected from staining. I was however pleased with the size and thickness of the liners.

They were much bigger and a tad thicker than many of it’s competitors, but unfortunately in my opinion that did not help the liners provide any extra coverage. The packaging was cute, and they were wrapped well.

The paper and sticky tab remained in place after being loose in my purse and bumping into many things. I was also very pleased with the quantity that came in the box. Ultimately I have decided that I may or may not purchase these in the future.

I suffer from a latex allergy and a lot of sanitary towels contain latex so I suffer a reaction. Always are latex free and although I take a slight reaction, it is nothing compared to other brands! The pads are light and comfortable while wearing and a mainly leak proof.

I just wish they were a little more sticky as sometimes the wings come loose.

As a paediatric nurse on a very busy acute children’s unit & a mom of 5 I need something that I can trust 100% to keep me clean, odour free & feeling secure and confident all day. Spending 14 hour shifts on my feet all day gives a lot of opportunities for pad movement & less secure fixing and therefore increased risk of leaks.

I have always a had a very heavy and painful menstruation. Since tampons increase the pain and leak after 2 hours, I switched to Always feminine care products. Always Radiant Size 2 Heavy Flow Pads, Light Clean Scent is what I reach for at the beginning of my menstruation.

It’s super heavy flow. Between frequent walking and sitting and standing, I need a longer pad with wings. I also need it to not leak and be able to withstand a 5 mile jog. The size 2 is excellent for moderate to heavy flow for use during the day.

The pad is so absorbent and flexible, so I can get my workout in and not feel uncomfortable at all. The wings are a must to avoid that folding/curling thing they do if you are active. The length of the size 2 heavy flow pad is exactly what I like so much about this particular product from Always! The light, clean scent is a tiny bit to strong for me, but they do smell fresh and clean! I would recommend Always Radiant Size 2 Heavy Flow Pads, Light Clean Scent to all my menstruating family and friends! Even co-workers! I will never switch to another brand.

As someone with extremely heavy and painful periods, I had no clue what to do anymore. I had exhausted pain killers, different products and had seen doctors asking what to do. I was even recommended to go on birth control to ease symptoms.

I decided to try reusable pads as a way of helping the environment, saving money, and to stop the irritation that disposable pads caused me, opting for something completely natural with no chemicals.

Firstly I thought that the price was completely acceptable. It was cheap in fact. The amount of money I was paying for disposable sanitary products, pads I was changing very frequently because of how heavy I was.

It’s saved me so much cash. My first period using Dame products was insanely easy. The irritation I was used to didn’t make an appearance. The annoying swishing sounds every time you walk. gone. I even had a martial arts class which I would usually avoid when menstruating because of it being so physical.

After a few periods while using I’ve physically noticed a difference. Very little pain, no irritation, lighter and shorter periods and I feel good when I start menstruating – not anxious. Do not suffer through your periods, buy reusable products, seriously.

I have been using the regular pad for the majority of days of my period (night pad for heavier days/if I know I won’t be able to change it for a long time, and liner for the last 1-2 days of my period) and I’ve found it great.

It stays in place pretty well, I haven’t had too many issues in that regard although occasionally have had to adjust it. Saying that, I haven’t done any significant sport/activity where I was moving in lots of different directions.

The absorbency has been fine for me, no issues with leaks. I like the soft fresh feel of the product and find it washes really well. After 6 months the products look almost as new.

It offers what was promised. I used it now for a cycle. To make it work, I have select underwear was the right gusset. Too small it twists and too big it leaks(as the product would pinch together and create gaps).

The towel moves a lot if you gets up and sit down often. Unless you wash it in the washing machine, handwashing always leave it smelling bad. Not to mention it doesn’t survive the spin cycle that well.

All in all, it feels like a good first goal but it certainly needs more work. I use in tandem with tampons only.

Breathable against the skin, thin and comfortable.
