20 Best Pants For Wide Hips (2022 Updated)

I have been a photographer for over 40 years. Neck straps basically never worked for me. I have always carried an SLR by wrapping the strap around my wrist and carrying it at essentially waist level.

Much better for speed, balance, and being able to candidly observe my surroundings without the presence of the camera changing how people act and relate to me being in their space. For me, a neck strap has always been wasted bulk.

I found this Joby strap while putting together a mirrorless system. This allows my camera to pack much more compactly. It’s strong enough for just about any camera and comfortable on my wrist. This is just what I need.

I love these pants! They are not too high waisted and are long enough. I could hardly ask for more. The fit is great. I don’t know what butt lift is and I don’t think I need it but these pants came in brown and my size so I grabbed them.

I loved the fit of the light denim pair so much that I purchased the black and medium denim pair. I had just put the black pair on and they ripped right down the seam like they were dry-rotted! I really loved them so, I will be purchasing another pair and hopefully this won’t happen again! If it does, I will be returning them.

These fit like a glove! Proportionately Hugs through waist, hip and thigh without being too tight. I hope they retain their shape. I love them (so far) not sure how they will wear and wash. But I have High hopes! you really can’t find good trouser like flare jean like this anywhere.

Dress them up or down! Super flattering and trendy but also a timeless retro classic! They are the perfect flare. 5’7″ 180 and got size 32, 34 inseam. definitely a one trick pony I will only be able to wear these with some sort of heel, platform or wedge for fun spring/ summer boho vibe.

I want to get a short inseam to wear with birks! Love them. The flare is perfect for example they completely cover my mirja Swedish hasbeens which is exactly what I wanted! Just a peek of the shoe as you walk.

Will probably look great with high platform espadrilles as well. Super excited to wear them. Side note. I exchanged from a different color to these lighter ones and I’m super glad I did! This color actually feels more structured so I was very pleased.

Okay, so here we go. I got a pair of these jeans for Christmas this year. At the time, they fit perfect but after losing a bit of weight and the normal wear of the jeans, they became a little baggy. Let’s fast forward to this week, I couldn’t stand not having another pair of these jeans.

I took the dive and ordered a size 26. I originally thought I was a 28. I got these jeans yesterday and freaked out because I thought they wouldn’t fit over the badonkadonk that I have plastered on the back of my 5’4 frame.

I wiggled and squirmed and to my amazement, they hugged the booty PERFECTLY. Wrangler, you outdid yourself with these pants. I must say I am beyond impressed with the style, support, and all around vibe of these pants.

I would own 30 pairs in different colors and patterns if provided and my wallet could afford it. I already have another pair ordered through boot barn than seem to be discontinued on here. I cannot express my love for these jeans in words other than HOLY BOOTY!.

These are a nice looking pair of flair jeans. They are a nice wash, they are nice quality denim, and have a little bit more of a wide leg trouser fit rather than the fit and then flared out look that some other flare jeans have.

They do run a little bit small in my opinion. I’m consistently a 29 in jeans but the 30 fit me best. Unfortunately the rise was not high enough for me. I think a 10. 5″ or 11″ rise looks best with flared jeans.

The rise on these hits below my belly button. I wish they had the rise measurement in the product details like some other jeans do. I’ll be returning them and will continue my search for the perfect flare high rise jean.

Ordered a size down from the recommended size for me (based on reviews advising to do so). Jeans specified for a curvy figure. (Im an hourglass shape) On me the were nice & snug on the legs a size too big in the waist.

Jeans are quite expensive for just an average fit. On a positive note they were an excellent length & looked nice. Return was easy enough at my cost. Although still waiting on that to be finalised to get my refund.

They are good but I had high expectations for these. Pondered over buying these for quiet a while. Fit nicely but sit below my belly button so, not high waisted. A little disappointed but they are okay.

Super comfy. Perfect length and fit. Love the high waist. Just not quite as thick denim as I was expecting. Would definitely buy again.

The Travelers Collection is my favorite Collection without a doubt for several reasons one of them being how beautiful they look on and how comfortable they are to wear for a long work day. When I dress like that for work clients assume I am in a position of authority and treat me differently, they are more respectful.

These clothes are pricey and absolutely worth every dollar because of their quality, how well they launder, how easily they travel, how great I feel when I wear them and how they affect my overall attitude.

Beautiful clothes make you feel great, it’s infectious. My whole day goes better when I feel like a million bucks! As far as their fit, once you’ve determined what number you are at Chico’s they fit perfectly and look great all day long.

I weigh 206 and wear a 2 and they look very nice, anything larger and I’m pulling them up all day long.

I have several pairs of these Travelers Classic No Tummy Pants. I recently purchased my second pair in black. It isn’t because the first pair has worn out, but, because I wear them so often that, I figured I should get a second pair.

Now I will have a clean pair available to wear more often. The fabric is very forgiving, washes and wears well, and always looks neat because it is wrinkle-free. It also never fades. I wash mine in Woolite Dark wash in the washer machine.

I think everyone should have a set of the tank top and matching pants. It really is a wardrobe stable that I go to time and again. Well worth the price. It is great with a cardigan or jacket. I also love that it comes in Tall sizes.

Not all of us look good in the tapered leg look that is so popular.

I have been a huge fan of the traveler series clothes for years. Sadly Chicos seems to have abandoned these clothes in many of their outlets. I was so pleased to find these pants on a recent trip to Rochester NY.

They are durable, don’t wrinkle, machine washable, and very good looking. My Chico’s pants have traveled all over the world with me. And I was pleased to find a petite pair so I don’t have to shorten them.

Now if only Chico’s would recognize that a large majority of the population is overweight and include the larger sizes in their stores. And it’s also time to make the travelers widely available in all stores.

We came to shop because we want to look at items and try them on before purchasing. I used to come more often when things I liked were in the stores.

I liked how these fit but they were sooo long. You have to get them hemmed unless you are 5’8 and above. However, once they are hemmed, they will be cute. Picking even up today from the alterations lady!.

These are so cute and I wanted to love them but they definitely run very very small. I’m lean and they were still at least two sizes small. The fabric doesn’t have much give and is waxxy and thick.

I typically have problems finding pants long enough. What I Like MOST about these pants is that you can slightly adjust the length by pulling the pants higher and folding it over more. The pants are EXTREMELY light too.

Perfect for summer when I don’t feel like shaving my legs.

These pants are very stretchy and made of a soft material. I would have kept them if the waist band was able to fold down. Although these are fold over pants the waistband is still high. The legs are wide and very comfortable.

However, I’m 5’8 and the length was hitting the floor. You would need to wear a higher heel shoe with these.

These are cute pants and fit very nicely on my wife who is 5 months pregnant and looking for some comfortable clothing in the warmer summer months. She is 5ft 6in and now about 150lb. My only complaint about these pants are that the fabric seems very thin and tears easily.

The second time she wore these pants she caught them on our 2 year old’s heights chair, just a round nob near the bottom, and the pants ripped. Just a little quarter size hole by the ankle but it was not caught on a sharp object when it happened.

I did not contact Venus to see if they would replace the pants as it was technically her fault and the way the pants sit you cant see the hole but I would be cautious is you are going to be chasing kids around or near anything these pants could catch on.

I love ❤️ the fabric is so soft unfortunately I ordered the wrong size, now my daughter is wearing and it’s like a leggings!!! I ordered two more the right size 😅

Unfortunately while unbuttoning the pants to try them on the top button can apart so I was forced to change the buttons.

Please do not ever stop offering this jean, it is the best fit and most adaptable pant on the market. Every advantage of a denim jean; durable, classy enough for the office, looks good under clingy tops, and the stretch allows complete freedom of movement and comfort for very long days.

Unlike other smooth-front “leggings”, this one has nice large pockets – an absolute must – and the look of standard jeans. Perfect!.

I have bought these jeans for several years. They have always fit perfectly, that’s why I buy them. This order I received is very disappointing. They are much longer and larger than any others I have ever ordered.

It would cost more for me to have them altered that what I paid for them. I have requested a return order form since there was not one included in my shipment.

Legs are wider than I wanted and a half inch longer than expected. Pants are comfortable. I am keeping them because chic pants are becoming harder to get online or in a store. I prefer the jegging fabric and legs.

Just can’t get them in my size 18 womens!.

These jeans are the best! How ingenious to have stretch where you actually need it without having to have stretch in the legs. I wish ever pair of jeans out there had this feature. These are super comfortable and the wide leg allows you to feel a little cooler in Texas heat too.

I absolutely love these pull-on, skinny jeans! They look great and do offer some support in all the right places. I would say the sizing is normal, no need to size up or down. Best of all, they are incredibly comfortable to wear.

When you order online it’s hard to know sometimes how to choose the size. With skinny jeans I thought since I’m in between size 8 and 10, I’d error on the not as tight option, but now I’d advise people to do the opposite.

At least with this Jean. I am slim hipped with a small derrière. As I walk, these jeans keep falling down. If you have more of a booty, this might not be a problem.

I rarely buy pants online unless having first bought or tried on the same brand and fit in a store. I’m very picky about the fit. But these were on sale so I took a chance. Glad I did – they were a perfect, true to size fit.

The material is thin, but adequate. I don’t remember the description saying low rise – they are. Overall I am pleased. Just don’t wear them around an ever shedding golden lab! Lol!.

Listen. I am a chronic review reader, scouring for help with sizing/decision making, and I never write them. These jeans deserve a review. I am 5’6, 180 lbs, somewhat apple shaped. I wear a 30-32 in Madewell – 30’s in very stretchy jeans, 31 in most, 32 in shorts I want to fit looser or more rigid fits.

These are PERFECT. The length is perfect with boots or flat mules. They hold my tummy in but aren’t restrictive. The width of the legs isn’t too much, they are trendy but not too far off from a straight jean, and are perfectly almost A-line with how flattering they are.

The denim has some mild stretch/give and are so comfy to sit down in (I HATE when jeans look and fit perfect standing up but you cannot sit without your midsection in pain from a tight fly and need to unbutton them) – nope, these are perfect.

I want to buy these jeans in every wash – PLEASE PLEASE give us a super dark blue wash! I would cry happy tears. These are the real deal, friends.

Love these jeans. I’m new to Madewell and I probably own 30 pairs of jeans, each fitting just ok. These are a game changer and have given me hope that there are jeans that fit my body. Hoping to get find these in another color.

I’m 5’4, 30in waist, and 42in hip, 30in inseam (pear shaped and have a longer waist, not longer than average). I bought a size 28 at the recommendation of another reviewer and I’m glad I did. They are perfectly relaxed on the hip and the length is great.

Short enough to wear with flats or 3” heels. The waist is not too tight and no gaping in the back. Only downside is waist is super high rise, wish it was and inch or two lower. But they keep everything tucked in nicely and would be great with a cropped top.

Would not recommend these for a short waisted gal. They have a good amount of stretch too, I anticipate they will stretch out when I wear. Overall a great pair of relaxed jeans that are very flattering.

So I hate buying jeans. I’m 5’4 which means petite is too short and regular too long. I have a small waist, no butt, but thick thighs and calves. Curve styles don’t work because I don’t have the butt.

It makes me so happy that wide leg and flares are back. I tried these on in store and they are amazingly cute. The denim is thick and rigid and the wide leg is a slim wide leg. They are really flattering.

The petite was a little too short but if I wanted the cropped look they would be perfect. The regular was prefect. I wasn’t walking on the ends. I would say these are a little big but I say that with my body type in mind.

With jeans like this I don’t need to account for my thighs and hips so I got a 25 when I usually wear a 26 regular or 27 petite. While I know they have other wide leg styles- this one has been the best.

Please make more just like this.

I was tryingbto get into wude keg jeans again as all i have are skinnies. I tried another pair from buckle and they just weren’t cut right for me. These however fit beautifully. They have a lot of stretch so i could order my regular size even with a couple extra COVID pounds.

plus they make my butt look so cute wheresas other wide leg jeans I’ve tried made it look flat. For reference I’m 5’5″ 133 lbs and ordered a 26.

Great jean style. They are high waisted and unfortunately a little too big in the waist. I am going to send them back for a smaller size.

These jeans have a very flattering fit, makes me look like i actually have hips lol, in a good way. like other reviews said, definitely go up at least 1, but maybe 2 sizes. I’m usually a 27 and got a 28 bc the 29 was out of stock and they are just manageable enough, but a bit snug.

I don’t have wide hips or much booty so 2 sizes up may be better if you do! tbh i might go back and get another color in a 29 for more comfort. My only complaints are that the color (ginger)is lighter than expected, was hoping it was a bit richer of an orangish brown, but seems more like a dark tan.

Second, the button popped off without much effort, which is unfortunate 🙁 i’ll probably try to replace it myself but sucks that i have to. Overall cute jeans with a flattering high waist and wide leg!.

these are probably the best-fitting non-stretch pants i have ever worn. they fit the same in the hips as in the waist, which is bonkers and amazing. i did experience 2 issues with them, 1 minor and 1 pretty huge.

1) it’s quite hard to get the pants up over my ****, which make sense: if it the waist of the pant fits well with no stretch, it’ll have trouble with the hips. this is fine with me, but part of the pants quickly broke as a result of repeated tugging.

there’s a small panel of fabric that backs the zipper and attaches to its base and along its length. eventually, the stitches at the base of the zipper wore out and broke from tugging. this didn’t create any visible problem, and the panel stays put pretty well without the bottom stitches, but still: it’s a design flaw.

2) i soaked the pants in oxiclean overnight, and the metal hardware in the pants reacted with the stain remover and bleached them in places. i believe the dye in the fabric (i had them in brass) also reacted with the oxiclean and became discolored.

the tag on the pants definitely says that they may bleed in the wash, but i don’t think it said anything about avoiding non-chlorine bleach. the pants are unfortunately ruined now. i wish there had been a note about this in the cleaning instructions!.

I have two pairs of these and I love them. They’re very versatile and flattering; I have a big butt and short legs and these flatter both areas. However, as other reviewers have noted, they can be hard to get over the hips, and I also experienced the tacking under the zipper breaking on both pairs that I own, one within a week of wearing them.

In one case, it led to the whole zipper breaking. There is just one reinforced stitch in this area and too much tension is put on it when you pull them up, so it breaks easily. I brought them both to my favorite tailor, who did a much more complete job of addressing this area, so now they’re perfect.

Another issue is with the crotch of the pants. It is meant to be tight here; you can see slight camel toe even on the models pictured. But because my butt is big, it takes up disproportionate real estate in the jeans and therefore it can be uncomfortable to sit in these for a long time (like if I sit a lot at work, etc), especially if I’ve just washed them.

I try to go a long time between washing them for this reason, but because they suffocate my cooch it can get moist and stinky compared to more relaxed jeans, and it makes me need to wash them more frequently than I’d like.

Overall though they’re cute and I love em.

After reading the other reviews after pressing “Pay” I was worried these would be too small – however I was pleasantly surprised to find these fit so much better than I expected! For reference, I have a 70cm waist, 93cm hips/butt and bought size 27.

There’s a tiny bit of wiggle room in the waist but that’s easily fixed with a belt/can take them in a bit. I’m 161cm tall so these are super long on me but again, super easy fix by taking the legs up.

Butt looks awesome in them and also blessed with thicc thighs so these jeans are dream with the wide leg pants! Dr Denim, you’ve done it again :).

I finally managed to buy these when they came back in stock in my size. I’m so happy I found these jeans because they fit perfectly. I struggle to find jeans that fit me well because all the jeans I try, there’s always a massive gap at the back, but these don’t do that!! I am usually a size 26 waist but managed to fit in a size 25, so I recommend sizing down.

These are genuinely the best fitting jeans I’ve ever found and I’ve tried dozens the last few months. I bought L30 and they were just about the right length for me – usually struggle with things being too long.

Love the hoodie for anywhere – but the pants are simply comfy – lounge wear. Good quality and well made but unlike the Muse sweatpants I wouldn’t wear them out.

Geez. I waited for my Sydney pants forever it seems. Availability brutal, sale went off and on. Really tried NOT to purchase seconds before a big sale. but I just had to grab them at full price before my size sold out again.

SO thrilled I did!! Fabric perfection (slight texture/interest, structured flaw-hiding, all-season) and the deep navy color is spot on. The fit/style is divine. Rise is flattering high, not “I can’t sit down” too high and the button pocket detail prevents any hateful pocket gap without looking like I’m dating a sea captain.

These pants are gorgeous! I love them with a sleeveless shell sweater. Style done! I got the white and am currently waiting for my second pair in black. I am 5’7 and the length is perfect. After washing according to directions, they do need to be ironed, I had pants in this material before and you have to use the iron on the lowest setting or else it will mark the material.

So, I’m actually considering dry cleaning in the future. I love the button detail. A great addition to my closet. Thanks Jcrew another winner!.

I bought all 3 colors in 2T I’m 5’4. 5” 118-120 slim hips long torso short legs. These in tall fit like regular length. They are superb. Really stretchy. The size charts are not reliable. I initially bought 4T returned for 2T and third times the charm.

The 0 T are perfect. They almost graze the floor. They do have a lot of stretch. Very flattering the white are not see through!.

Full disclosure- I also purchased the Nili Lotan jeans (Megan). So the price points are completely opposite. I am 5’1 and heels will always look best with wide leg jeans. These are great for what they are.

I love the length, wash and thankfully I didn’t have a button issue. These hit me a little below ankle length making a flatter shoe or sandal possible. I purchased the 1 so they are TTS. High ankle boots would be adorable for winter.

Love these! They are very flattering on the hips and butt (hubby approved). I am usually an XS/25/0 and the 2 fit perfect. EU brands tend to run small, so I do recommend sizing up. I am 5’2, so they did not hit ankle length like the pic, but I love that they hit at my foot since they are so wide leg.

Very trendy and fresh with a white tee or paired with boots and sweaters for Fall. Very comfortable as well. Don’t feel the need to unbutton after a burger.

This is a review posted after purchasing this style in both the pale lilac colourway and now the light brown. Both pairs worn once and washed per instructions. and both have had issues with garment dye running and turning patchy – I have never experienced this before – both pairs returned.

this must surely be a manufacturer bissue? Such a shame as these trousers are a super flattering fit and ideal muted colourways. until first wash that is !.

The jeans themselves are very cute and flattering (esp for smaller waist, wider hips— though if you’re on the shorter side- I’m 5’3- you’ll probably have to wear heels). So here’s why I rated it 2 stars- the tag says the dye might bleed onto other surfaces or materials- don’t do what I did and make the mistake of washing it with white jeans (it snuck its way into my white clothing pile- strangely enough, my white linen dresses were still white, maybe with a very, very light blue tint).

However, a linen top I had was tinted blue more noticeably, but at least it was consistent and not patchy. My white jeans are also Frame, but the style isn’t sold anymore (and this was my first time washing them, never got to wear them), which is why I’m writing this long review to emphasize being cautious (I’m beyond annoyed- both at myself and the jeans).

When they say may stain lighter colors, they don’t mean you can wash “like” colors that are sorted light and dark, they mean blue and blue, white and white. My white jeans came out with blue spots and very big, splotchy stains.

I’ve actually never had this happen with jeans before, so maybe it’s the dye they use. Tried soaking them in vinegar and detergent over night (didn’t work), spot cleaning and letting set with laundry detergent (I used ECOS and it helped a little), then using oxyclean revive not once, not twice, but three times.

It’s lighter and not as noticeable (I hope) but not completely gone. If you get these (or maybe any jeans from frame) double check that you only have like colors in the load. It probably wouldn’t be too great if you washed their black jeans with lighter blue jeans either, but I’m not about to find out… just really disappointed that in this day and age, jeans that cost this much use dye that can quite ruin your clothes (and quite literally, your day- I’ve spent hours trying to fix this.

If I could replace the white jeans I would but like I mentioned- the style isn’t sold anymore).

The stylist helping me find all the white pants in the store in my size brought these in for me to try. There is is A LOT of fabric in the legs—both wide and long. In my opinion this picture on the internet doesn’t commuincate at all how much fabric there is.

I would have needed a major hemming for starters and I’m 5’7″ and not short-legged. I think they’re super trendy. cool as heck. fit very well, have good not show through fabric density But I wasn’t sure how to style them so I brought them home unaltered to research.

Watched all the YouTube vides on Palazzo pants, and decided the look that appealed to me was to match them with a very small top, maybe a crop top, ideally a bra top. I’m older and that style isn’t in my comfort zone these days so I’m returning them, getting another pair of white pants that suit me better.

If Palazzo pants are your style you may not be able to do better for summer than these in white, hence the 5 stars.

I LOVE these 70’s inspired jeans but as another reviewer said, had to order a few sizes to get the right fit. I’m 5’8″ 142 lbs and typically a 27 in most jeans but could pull the size 27 off without unzipping; the size 26 were also too big so ended up with size 25.

Unlike the other reviewer, I did not find these to be too long; rather the perfect length. 70’s “bell bottoms” should ideally skim the floor, which these do, but there’s still enough stretch to “slouch” them down to work with higher heeled boots, etc.

Liking the Natoma Clean wash more than I expected too (other washes were out of stock). The side “pleat” is a little funky but not a deal breaker – adds to the 70s vibe.

I ordered two pairs of the “Loose” Rigid Non-Stretch Black Jeans and they are simply not true to size. The fit is way too tight in the waist and thigh. I have a slim, athletic build and these jeans disappoint.

I’ll be returning the items to the store.

I have some older Old Navy relaxed fit jeans, and they have 8″ deep front pockets. You have made the pockets smaller on this and I can’t fit everything into it that I once could. The pockets on this are 7″ deep.

If you still make jeans with 8″ deep pockets, please contact me so I can buy those instead.

Love the quality and fit of these jeans! With a lean athletic build, I have a hard time finding women’s jeans that aren’t far too big in the waist. These fit like a glove!
