20 Best Period Products For Tweens (2022 Updated)

I have used U by Kotex products for at least 7 years now. I’m not sure why they decided to change the products but you can clearly tell these are not the same pads they used to be. They’re SO FLIMSY.

They move constantly whereas before they NEVER moved. They’re also thinner but not in a good way. They feel extremely cheap and even with the heavy or overnight you go through them QUICK. You’re using twice as much with this inferior product so spending twice as more.

I don’t think that’s a coincidence since companies always want more of your money for less of theirs. I’m definitely finding a different company for pads/tampons and you should too.

The title says it all. These are god tier pads if you have super heavy periods. If you struggle with blood crawling up your crack and causing stains in the back of your underwear, these are the answer.

I’ve used them for like 4 years now and I’ve never looked back. One thing I’ve seen people fail to mention is how much better these are then the Always ones are texture-wise. I tried the Always ultra thin overnight pads and the edge didn’t have any adhesive so it was just itching my butt the whole night, on top of having this odd, almost plastic texture.

These don’t do that, you put them down, and bam! All the edges stay flat and leave your poor booty alone when you’re trying to sleep. The only complaint is that sometimes the adhesive sticks to the bottom of some of my underwear near the crotch area so I have to rip it off and it leaves behind some of the pad.

I then have to spend like 10 minutes trying to remove it and struggling because the adhesive literally has glued itself onto my underwear. It’s only with this one very specific set of polyester undies though, so for most people this shouldn’t be an issue.

If you wear cotton underwear like you’re supposed to, these come off like a dream. The protection they offer outweighs the annoyance I feel when I have to remove the adhesive though, and not even once have I considered changing the brand of pads I use.

BUY THESE!!!!!.

I recently tried kotex brand for the coupon incentives as being a new mom period poverty is real. I have always been brand loyal to my last company but here are some pros/cons I’ve noticed. Kotex is much softer and i get less irritation from rubbing against my skin.

I fond kotex to always have good sales and coupons to help with cost. My only complaint is the adhesive is not strong enough on most to properly stay in place. I always choose “with wings” but find that it shifts causing leaks which is sad because inwould love to remain brand loyal to you.

If you could improve this inwould shout KOTEX ONLY from the mountain tops !!!! Your truly. a heavy bleeder.

I wanted to be proactive and get my daughter some underwear so that she’d have them, when needed. Unfortunately, I ordered them one size too large. A happy thing occurred from this mistake though! I realized that that was my perfect size and was able to re-order my daughter one size smaller.

So, now you have two new fans. Product works really well and customer service is so helpful and fabulous!.

I loved these originally! Thought the price was amazing with the quantity and quality. However, as time passes I am no longer satisfied and will have to discontinue there use after only a few months of ownership.

I bought them at the end of September. Is it April so about 7/8 months of ownership. They now have stretched out and cause a rash type feeling from the fabric of the pantries rubbing against my inner vaginal thigh – essentially the spot where the leg and vagina meets and folds.

The fabric is to rough and thick now and no longer fits sleek so it rubs. You sort of feel like you are wearing it backwards but you are not. Anyway pretty sad it didn’t last even a ‘em year and I will need to try another set.

I originally loved these though and thing they are great testers!.

Yesterday, I bought the Kotex pads for heavy periods and I have been leaking through almost all of them. It’s day one which is normally a little heavier for me, so the absorbency level “heavy” is usually perfect.

However, this new design is way too thin with very little absorbency. It’s as if the liquid just rolls off. It’s like and extra large panty liner. Wtf!! This is a real vagina here, not a flat plastic doll that sits in one position all day.

I have to add a layer of toilet tissue for extra protection which completely defeats the purpose. If you (Kotex) are running low on cotton, just say that! I’ve gone through so many pads in just one day! Ridiculous!!.

I’ve been using these for a while now, and while I like the product, the packaging has gotten worse over time. First of all, sometimes I get packaging with the name written all over it. I do not need that – there is nothing discreet about advertising on my period packaging.

I already know who you are. I much prefer the plain white packaging. Also, I have to completely mangle the individual package to get it open lately. Are used to be much easier to open them. Not sure what happened there.

Also, when I’m done using a pad and I pull it out of my underwear, it now leaves visible track marks of sticky residue from the pad. This was never happening before. Somebody’s going overboard in the sticky factory! Finally, anytime I have tried, whether on my cell phone or on my laptop, to go to my account and make any sort of adjustment, it’s simply not possible.

I have to email customer service and they send a special link and say there’s been glitches lately but honestly I’ve never been able to go directly to my account and see anything other than my order history.

This is frustrating. I’m currently waiting for them to get back to me about this because I need to adjust the frequency of shipments. E-mailed over a week ago and haven’t heard anything.

I have PCOS and a very heavy 3 days in the middle of my cycle. It’s very hard for me to find coverage I can trust and hard for me to even try something new. Lately I’ve noticed that using natural organic pads have seemed to help with my flow.

I learned that because I noticed that using my go to. A!₩@¥$ pads seemed to almost increase my flow as well as cause some irritation down there. I tried one brand of organic, but they didn’t stay in place and I had sheets to change in the morning, actually the middle of the night.

I did find that I seemed to have a slighter flow with the organic. I kept reading reviews and they were all over the place. I decided to give nanocare a try because I was interested in the claims, they were organic and the reviews were pretty good.

I was surprised actually. On my three heaviest days, I did wear two all day and night to increase coverage front to back even with the overnight size, overnight in back, normal length up front. ( this is normal for me with any pads).

My flow seemed less, I had zero irritation, and they stayed in place. I had zero leaks. One day I came close but that was my fault, because I knew I needed to get home, but I delayed. They held their own.

I’m glad I found these.

I bleed heavily most like due to a combination of fibroids, ovarian cysts and perimenopause. Sometimes my menstrual flow will last for months at a time. These are the ONLY pads I have found, and I have tried many, that prevent leakage.

I haven’t had one single oops moment using these the last couple of months. They are comfortable, thin, super absorbent and I have a sense of security knowing I won’t wake up in the middle of the night to change or clean up a mess.

I have a pre-teen who is new to the whole menstruation thing and I’ll be honest — it’s awkward. She complains a lot about how it feels to wear a pad and she’s not wrong, it is a lot like wearing a diaper.

It’s uncomfortable. Always Teen Pads are lightweight and they’re made of foam, so they keep their shape and they don’t weigh as much as other kinds of pads. Like other Always products, they have wings to help keep them in place, even during gym class.

The part that confuses both of us is the tropical packaging. It’s very. odd? They also put “radiant” and palm fronds on it, which seems like an odd choice. Fortunately, it doesn’t take away from the function of the product.

So great product, strange marketing.

I received my items earlier than expected. I ordered the green paisley chamomile scented bags. This is a present for Christmas so I haven’t opened the bag, but I can still faintly smell the chamomile! ! I’m so excited to give these to my grand mother, especially the eye bag after her recent cataract surgery.

Bought these for my 12 yr old daughter who got her first period over the summer. I showed them to her and we agreed that they would be perfect for her to wear during school. She’s able to wear them throughout the school day without any leaks.

I’ve already recommended them to several people.

My daughter was stressed out with starting school and her period within the same timeframe. She tried pads and she always said they made her walk funny and she can personally “hear it when she walks”.

Then I just introduced these to her and she loves them. I also introduced them to her school nurse too.

My daughter likes this underwear. Great fit and very comfortable. There is some leakage on the sides of the underwear, which makes her uncomfortable thinking it might go through to her clothes.

Love these, I will not use any other brand. They’re perfect. No stupid design or disgusting fragrance. I really like that they’re petite so they don’t reach from your belly button to your tailbone, but they still get the job done.

I highly recommend them. They’re actually fairly comfortable too- you can even forget you’re wearing one.

These are handy as inital starter for teens who start their first periods. My daughter tried these and she liked the packaging being discreet. As the pads are small they are idea for light flow and as young teens get used to their cycle/ first few months of their periods.

They are also handy for when wearing shorts as teens want discreet and comfort and handy for the humid weather. You have to change the pad often but i suppose it is a good way for teens to get used to their cycle and for night time these are handy for sleepovers and at home.

The wings help the pad stay in place better. When teens are ready they then go onto the longer pads.

This is another great product from Lil-lets. My daughter liked the packaging as she was able to stick them in her draw and they weren’t falling out of the bag. The towels are absorbent and easy for her to use She found them comfortable and it didn’t annoy her in the night to wake her up.

It also didn’t give her than nappy rash feeling that some towels give as the material is very soft. They are a good fit too as the ‘lady’ size towels are enormous on her! The only complaint as I had with the day towels is the name they are Teens my daughter is 11 and she thought that they were not suitable for her because of the name but with a little persuasion she gave them a go.

Maybe a rethink to the product name is in order.

Growing up as an active girl in the 1980s with a heavy period and pads the size of diapers, I didn’t believe it was possible for a thin pair of underwear like Knix to work – especially on the heaviest flow days.

When my teenagers started using them I would ask them, “So they work on day 2?! And you need no pads??!” Yes mom; eye rolls. After which I would launch into a nightmare story of having to change out the diaper and deal with spotty pants using the flimsiest school toilet paper in the girls’ bathroom in 1987.

For someone who identifies as non-binary and menstruates, these have been a game changer! Pads and tampons make me feel dysphoric and are just plain uncomfortable. I have PCOS and am often spotting even when I’m not supposed to be on my period.

That’s why I decided to give these a try, because sometimes for weeks I can be spotting. These have significantly improved not only my dysphoria when menstruating but also my confidence. I can wear these and not have to worry about quickly finding a bathroom if I suddenly start to spot.

I have not had any issues with bleeding through and they’re so easy to wash. The sizing fits good even though I’m an adult.

I recently purchased 5 pairs of these for my 13 year old. I wear the women’s style and love them. The teen style doesn’t seem to have the same protection although they are both labeled Super Leakproof.

I have a heavy flow and have only experienced very minor leakage in the Women’s style twice. My daughter wore the Teen style and was a complete mess within 4 hours. They were leaking everywhere and it looked like she was wearing absolutely nothing at all.

The sleepover shorts don’t seem to have to have the same issue, she can wear them overnight with no issues.

My daughter hasn’t started her periods yet, but we wanted to pick up some sanitary protection for her ‘just in case’ She really liked the look of the product – the pretty little drawstring bag with ribbon ties, and she also really liked the fact that she could take off the cardboard band so it wasn’t so obvious what they were.

The individually-wrapped towels are discreet and easy to keep in her schoolbag. The pads are soft and the wings are great for added confidence. The smaller size is also ideal to fit in smaller pants, but they still look like they’d be substantial enough to cope with being worn all night.

I bought these for my daughter who recently I got these for my daughter to test as she recently started her periods. She is a very slim petite build and was finding regular sized pads bulky / uncomfortable and it affected her confidence.

These teen pads are great. She says they are comfy, soft, discreet and they work! No leaks at all and pretty packs to put in her bag for changes. The night pads are great, comfortable and no leaks. Great product.

I’m very impressed with Oi Girl’s initiative to start bringing organic cotton pads to the market. I’ve been hearing more and more about the synthetic chemicals in the pads and tampons and was looking for a safer and healthier alternative.

The Oi Girl organic cotton pads were the perfect alternative to other conventional pads. They are individually wrapped and have the same absorbent power as regular pads. These are meant to be day pads and are great for light to moderate days.

My daughter used them and had no issues with leaks and they are thin enough that they were comfortable to wear. They aren’t quite enough for heavy days, but are perfect for the lighter days. I have peace of mind that they are made of organic cotton and aren’t introducing harmful chemicals into her body.

The wings are a nice added touch to avoid any leaks. Overall both my daughter and I are very happy with the Oi Girl cotton pads. They absorb well, avoid leaks and are comfortable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an alternative to conventional pads that actually works.

Oi Girl Organic Cotton Ultra Thin Pads with wings wrapped individually, Night 10s Are comfortable and discreet. These are organic cotton which means dad there will be a minimal moisture. I must say that the curtain has a nice feel up against your skin and the wings keep it securely in place.

These are ultra thin and they do an amazing job at absorbing. And being protected well maintaining an extremely high comfort level is most certainly a plus for this product. I recommend this product to all the ladies there I looking for a great quality product, without brokenness, they get the job done.

I have used natural cotton pads for the lady times for many years now, and had a store brand I liked for a while, but couldn’t find them anymore. Tried a bunch and basically didn’t like most of them.

Either they were the wrong absorbency, weird fabric, or they looked like a gosh darn diaper. I’m not ready for diapers yet, mkay? Finally found these, and they really work for all the different kinds of days you have as a lady, wink wink, nudge nudge.

I buy this set of two types every month and it basically is the perfect amount of each. It’s great that they make this kit that’s so easy to order in one swoop. Makes my life so easy. They are comfy to wear, just sticky enough, and the absorbency/length is just the right amount.

I wouldn’t know what to do if I had to change brands cause these are so awesome.

I bought a period bag for my granddaughter who is approaching the age when she will get her period for the first time. My daughter and I decided to get her one to put in her backpack so if it happens when she’s at school, she’ll be prepared.

I actually bought this to use as a small “medic” bag in my backpack that holds a card with my basic medical information and emergency call list, band-aids of all sizes, alcohol wipes, Tegaderm, aspirin, Goody’s powder, etc.

, and it’s perfect. It’s actually a bit larger than I thought it would be but that’s okay. The one I’ve been using for years is not as sturdy and I need to retire it to be used for something else. Plus, this one is pretty! 🙂 The only bad thing is the tassel came off the zipper pull.

I’m going to try to get it back on there because it does add to the cuteness of the bag. If you do buy it to use as a period pouch I’m certain you will not be disappointed.

I expected this to come with with a few supplies and it doesn’t. It’s just the pouch, so I will fill it myself before I give it to my daughter when she starts her period. I’ve already bought her supplies and pamphlets and we talked about everything so she feels comforted and ready.

I’m holding onto this for a happy gift after she starts (she’s got a cheapy little bag with some of her supplies ready for now). Even without the supplies this gets 5 stars, it’s so cute, well made, and the perfect size.

The sleep saved the bedding from being Trash. My daughters is 12 with special needs. This experience has been my biggest challenge. I have a older daughter that it was smoother transition. This had me experience accident on clothing and bedding in trash.

A products that works n recommend to teen moms.

When my daughter with Autism started her period at 10 1/2 I was mortified! I was having a very difficult time helping her understand the process of pads. It was messy to say the least. Thinx has been a lifesaver.

I was skeptical but they actually work. AND WORK WELL! One pair will last all day, and the sleep shorts are great. I can’t believe how absorbent they are. They are simple to rinse out, throw them in the washer, hang them to dry and your done! So grateful I found these and thank you for making such a perfect product!.

My daughter has Autism Spectrum Disorder and recently started her period. She struggles with cleanliness or caring about being clean, and this product seemed like it would help with that issue. I highly recommend Thinx products to caregivers of special needs girls! This took a lot of worry off of both of us! She seemed less afraid and anxious of the bleeding because she couldn’t see it.

The only thing that is difficult is knowing how heavy her flow is. Also these shorts are super cute and I could tell my daughter felt comfortable wearing them.

I am encouraged to write this due to the quantity of reviews that say exactly what I feel, that the redesign of the liners was a poor decision and the liners are no longer the wonderful product that they were.

As many others have noted, they used to be thin and felt like you were not wearing anything at all, very comfortable. They stayed put. A fantastic product to feel fresh and clean, and although I no longer need them for it, others have noted their efficacy for spotting and light days.

Now the pads are thicker- but would appear to offer no added advantage for the thickness- and they do not stay in place. They bunch up, roll inwards at the sides, and although they do not stay in place the adhesive is apparently different as residue is left behind on the fabric of the undergarments.

They are also shorter in length which is not an improvement. You have offered responses stating that changes can be difficult; but you have changed the product from a superior one that was the best of its kind, to a vastly inferior one.

You have also mentioned that you were responding to customer feedback; but perhaps if anyone wanted better leak protection which would require a thicker pad, they should have been directed to your pads.

These are, after all, liners, not pads. Please note also that all of the ( well deserved at that time ) glowing reviews for the liners are dated 5/7/21 or prior; EVERY review after that date, which is evidently when the new design hit stores, is negative.

If you will not be switching back to the original design then please consider offering the original design in addition to this new one, so that those of us who prefer the original design – of whom there are obviously many- can have that choice.

I love love love the material that is used, its comfy and absorbs leaks the best compar3d to anywhere brand I’ve used in the 25 years. I have an issue with on demand orders as I am new to using your products I under stated my first subscription of the extra long bladder liners, when I tried to order it , you seem to be already back ordered on them so I now have to wait 2 weeks out before I receive them.

I hate to go back to my old brand. I also ordered from a previous order before this issue arose and ordered 2 kinds overnight and extra large, I was told that XL was backordered and did not receive the XL pads almost 2 weeks out from my original order date.

The XL bladder liners also changed in design, not very impressed with the new XL liners as they scrunch up wayyy too fast which I think thats why I ran out so quickly, I highly suggest bringing back the other shaped design as it never had scrunched up issues and it absorbition in it had a cute little odor liner on the tip which made me love it even more as a no stress no mess.

I absolutely love my Cora products and subscription. My favorite aspect of it is that my subscription helps provide feminine products to young girls around the world. As a non-profit director who works in the developing world, it is so important to me that the products I buy make a positive impact.

The second thing I really value is the cleanness of the products – no synthetic dyes or harmful chemicals, and made from organic materials. This is a huge deal – my lady parts are important to me! 🙂 And lastly, I cannot overstate the convenience of the subscription plan.

After 10 years of medication, pelvic floor therapy, pads and constant concern about incontenence, I finally found an acceptable alternative to some of the frustration of time, environmental guilt, inconvenience, and money wasted on this issue.

What I like: After my initial investment, I know I’ll save money and not have to fret over “supply chain” scarcity, 2 snaps give a little better fit, easy on sensitive skin, comfortable, odor control is good, feels dry, does not need to be changed as often.

Charlie Banana could be improved, however. During the day, I layer the pad over an incontenence pantie because it shifts occassionally; no leaks to outer clothes so far. Tho I ordered the longest, most absorbant size, I found it does not stay put during sleep.

I must wear a disposable at night to make sure it is long enough and secure enough be successful.

I received the ballerina print reusable cloth pads and let me just tell you I was so worried about how pretty these were would not measure up to their effectiveness. I typically use and LOVE my diva cup.

I’ve used one for about 5 years in addition to my thinx underwear on heavier days or for extra protection. I feel comfortable and like I’m not wearing anything period related. With that being said I know and feel when I’m wearing the CB pads.

Personally I don’t like that feeling but they work! I just don’t know how I would like wearing them to work with a par of jeans because I would feel like they wild be noticeable is all I’m saying but that’s not a deal breaker.

I’m more of a dress girl anyways. I wore one on my heavy day at home, a light day at work and at night. At no time did I leak and they held their own for almost the entire day on my heavy day at home ( which I was active cleaning/ lounging) I will definitely be using them in future cycles and would recommend them! They were very easy to clean with my Branch Basics concentrate that is amazing and no fragranced so perfect for that sensitive area! Let’s not forget about the cute matching bag they came in! So practical and able to fit an additional one or even my cup/ disposable liners if needed.

I bought these last month because I’m tired of the discomfort from conventional, disposable menstrual products. I always felt uncomfortable and I had tried using every product, from organic disposable pads, organic tampons, cups, discs.

you name it. Nothing was the perfect solution. The adhesives and plastics made me itchy, the discs were too hard to remove (and resulted in messes and a uti) and tampons hurt too much. I wanted to find a product that didn’t have anything that would irritate me, and when I found Charlie Banana pads online, I was so excited! Charlie Banana was a brand I had heard highly recommended from my friends with kids.

I ordered myself a 3 pack of pads. After my first day on my cycle (pretty heavy) I’m happy to say, no leaks, no discomfort and they’re so easy to care for. I will be buying 6 more pads soon! It also makes me happy to know I’m not generating more single use plastic waste.

The prints are absolutely adorable. My only wish is that the pads were sold in larger than a 3pack! I am concerned the super+ pad in the variety pack of 4 will be too big (I wear XS petite in clothes!).

I wish we could order a 6 or even 12 pack of pads, which is a more realistic amount for the purposes of doing laundry than only 3! (Now I have to use a disposable pad while I do laundry tomorrow. yuck!).

As someone with extremely heavy and painful periods, I had no clue what to do anymore. I had exhausted pain killers, different products and had seen doctors asking what to do. I was even recommended to go on birth control to ease symptoms.

I decided to try reusable pads as a way of helping the environment, saving money, and to stop the irritation that disposable pads caused me, opting for something completely natural with no chemicals.

Firstly I thought that the price was completely acceptable. It was cheap in fact. The amount of money I was paying for disposable sanitary products, pads I was changing very frequently because of how heavy I was.

It’s saved me so much cash. My first period using Dame products was insanely easy. The irritation I was used to didn’t make an appearance. The annoying swishing sounds every time you walk. gone. I even had a martial arts class which I would usually avoid when menstruating because of it being so physical.

After a few periods while using I’ve physically noticed a difference. Very little pain, no irritation, lighter and shorter periods and I feel good when I start menstruating – not anxious. Do not suffer through your periods, buy reusable products, seriously.

I am an environmentalist so am always looking for ways to reduce my carbon footprint. These pads are the future! I stay in a very hot area so the usual pads plastic backing sometimes make me overheat and react if i dont change my pads atleast 3 times in the day- which is horrible because so much waste.

The soft cotton helped me solve this problem. The bagbis cute and comes in handy for soaking the pad pre-wash discreetly. I really love these. I only wish i had gotten more than 1 pack at first buy because they are so thick and take long to dry so found myself still needing regular pads.

Back to buy an extra pack now. Worth every penny and reduced carbon footprint.
