20 Best Plus Size Denim Shorts (2022 Updated)

These shorts are great, but the sizing is way off compared to the ones in the lighter colour. I ordered two pairs, one in light, one in dark, but the exact same Levis shorts. The darker pair I had to exchange twice as I needed two sizes smaller.

Weird. No mention of any different sizing or stretchier fabric – which it was.

I don’t really like to wear shorts but we had a spring heatwave and I needed to try to wear shorts again. I am a plus size woman with a smaller waist so shorts are hard to find. I really like these. The shorts have some stretch and are very comfortable.

The length is good. Very happy with this purchase.

These shorts are super cute and SO comfortable! I am petite and sometimes struggle to find a good length for jean shorts (either too short or too long), but these fit perfectly, hitting mid-thigh. They also have just enough stretch to them to make them incredibly comfortable.

Definitely recommend.

I bought the gifts for my wife. Any time I buy clothes for her, I get them from Avenue. The clothes FIT HER. I mean, there may be one or two things that don’t quite fit her body TYPE but for the most part ANYTHING I buy her fit the way she wants them to fit.

My testimony shows you how easy it is to buy from Avenue. I am a man. The only information I am allowed to have is a size…lol. So, I pick out things I think she would look great in. I find the size she says she is and I make the purchase.

It is a fail safe way to buy Plus Size clothes!!.

These are not for curvy women, first of all, so expect them to slide down and sag because it’ll be big on your waist. Secondly, they just stretch and stay stretched out. Need to bend down? Expect the waistline to roll and stay bent out forever.

Poor quality, I hate them. Also, they are only form fitted around your legs in the beginning. One wash and you go from cute capris to Huckleberry Finn. I gave it 2 stars because the color doesn’t bleed and I like the button/zipper combo, everything else sucks.

Look. I hate shopping for shorts and am VERY wary of ordering them online without being able to try them on. I’m an apple shape and it’s so hard to find shorts that look flattering AND feel great. These are them.

These are the shorts. I’m thrilled with this purchase! I typically wear a 14 in pants/shorts and I ordered an XS/14.

I needed a air of white capris for an upcoming vacation and was familiar with the brand so I got these. For me, an older, plus size woman, they are a no. First – they say they offer allover slimming.

Not on me, I don’t expect miracles on this size 16 body, but no slimming effect. The fabric does offer stretch and movement and comfort. I got white and the fabric is a bit thinner than I would like, even with beige panties on you can see the pockets against the rest of the fabric.

That is not a big deal for me because I dont wear things tucked in, I wear long, loose tops to conceal my tummy and tush, but for a slimmer woman who can wear tucked in tops, the lighter weight, white fabric could be an issue.

Otherwise – in a blue or black fabric these would be great as they are comfy, stretchy, well made with nice tight stitching, no loose ends or fraying, and non wrinkling.

I got these because I needed something comfortable to wear when I am out and about with my family at slightly dressier occasions, where I need comfy capris that fit well and looked stylish and these fit the bill perfectly.

The fit is spot on! There is a little stretch, but I feel like it isn’t needed in my case. These capris have a short slit mid calf, at the hem, and a small metal round button at the end of the slit. I feel like adding that little detail dresses them up slightly.

These are soft and comfortable to wear, and I love them! These have instantly become my favorite go to summer capris for special times.

These capri pants are so comfortable. True to size with a bit of wiggle room in the waist for any weight fluctuation. They are made well with high quality materials. They are much softer after washing than other demin capri pants I’ve had.

The pockets are good size as well. I can fit my phone inside my pocket without having it stick out. So that’s a huge plus for me. Overall, these capri pants are great. It’s hard finding any comfortable denim pants but I have that with these.

Holy crap these are awesome! I am a person that has been super nervous wearing shorts. I’m a full hourglass and now down to a size 22. Decided I’m wearing shorts so hot these stretch high rise 9” in black.

Love love love these. If you wear the high rise straight jeans by Ava & Viv, these fit exactly the same. I was hoping the sides were lightly stitched so I could self consciously let the roll out for more coverage.

Nope, sewn well and strong. But guess what? I don’t need to roll them down. They look great! And they are stretchy enough that the higher rise doesn’t cut you in half when you sit. All wins, 10/10 stars for sure.

Going back to purchase more colors. The black is a nice rich black with some faded whispering and texture. Love!!!!.

Very pleasantly surprised by these shorts! I usually have a hard time with denim bottoms from target, I feel like the cuts are weird and sizing up is pretty much always necessary. NOT THE CASE WITH THESE! In fact I think I could have sized down.

These have amazing stretch! After a long day in jeans, I always am ready to get into something more comfy. Not with these Jean shorts, they are soo comfortable! There is only one thing about these shorts that I don’t love.

the frayed hemline. The strings keep getting longer and I feel the need to trim them. So I am concerned that after many washes and wears they might be unraveling a little too much. But over all would totally purchase again.

This is such a flattering short! I had this style from another manufacturer that I wore out and for a few years now I’ve been wanting this style again. The length is perfect because it’s covering but not to long and not baggy at all so it is flattering and can easily be dressed up but with that little rolled cuff at the bottom it’s not too dressy and looks great with tee’s too.

I wish the denim color was available in my size! Trust me I’ll be checking back! A must for your summer wardrobe!.

The fabric is wonderful! These were expensive and they look it! They fit in the waist with room to spare. Legs were tight (and my legs are small) and caused the “smile” in the wrong place. They had to go back.

I ended up spending $16 to try on and send back.

I love these shorts! Finally found jeans shorts that fit comfortably around the middle and still slim in the legs. I’ve also ordered the long jeans and they did not disappoint. Fit perfectly.

Love the shorts, hate the location of one of the. predistressed spots. I mean, really? Lower front?!? If the pocket isn’t poking out of the hole – empty or not – then you have to worry about the world seeing your panties! Not the most convenient placement for it, guys.

And if you’re plus sized. Ugh! Just draw attention to the fat why don’t ya?!.

These are super cute and I expected the stretch denim to be perfectly accommodating for an upcoming road trip. Fresh out of the package, they felt comfortably loose in the waist-hip, but seemed very snug at the “hemline”, and more so after cuffing to wear as shown.

After normal around the house sitting, standing, etc, for maybe two hours, these were already so stretched out that they fell to my hips when i stood up. I was able to completely remove them without unbuttoning with no effort.

interestingly, the hemline never did settle down and stretch with the rest of the pant. I am going to take these up in the waist and add a teensy inset to the hemline. I’d recommend ordering a size smaller, but be prepared to cut or inset the hem.

These are very cute shorts and I couldn’t wait to wear them. Unfortunately, I took them out of the package, put them on and proceeded to go about my day thinking the fabric would loosen up…it didn’t.

They were so tight in the thighs and stomach, I couldn’t believe it!! These are not true to size and I mean, these are at least 2 sizes small! If you purchase them, order 2 sizes bigger. Very disappointing☹️.

Again, don’t like hidden warning of color bleed. Nice looking, nice fabric (except for color bleed, which should have been in the item description).

The elastic band on the waist band is a wonderful addition. It hold up my pants with no need for a belt. Love it.

Unfortunately, these did not work for me. I ordered my typical size but they were just too big. Would recommend sizing down. They also are a little longer in the leg that what they look like in the picture.

Love these shorts! Fit great and I love the waistband that doesn’t gape. Ordered a pair of capris , same size and they didn’t fit as well .

These shirts fit like they were made for me. I love the soft denim and the elastic in the waist band means no gap in the back. These bacame my favorite the moment I put them on.

I love the shorts but I have lost over 50 lbs and the size 12 are still to big for me. I have to wear a belt with the to keep them up. LOL BUT THEY ARE BETTER THAN MY SIZE 16! I really like them though!.

These are comfortable, cute shorts! They have some stretch to them, but it’s not too tight. These actually fit a little loose, but not too much, in comparison to other shorts I bought from Silver with holes all in them in the same size in Suki.

They did tighten a little after i washed and dried them They fit as expected-I bought them in my normal size I wear and they fit fine. I like that these do not have holes in them. I wish the website carried them in light denim too.

Love this mid rise boyfriend shorts. I love silvers jeans period. Perfect length. Not too long and definitely not super short. Very much the sweet spot. Has stretch. So comfy. No muffin top. Nice support.

Flattering fit and cut. Bought 2 pairs so I would have a pair at home and a pair at the cabin.

First off, the product is well made and comfortable just like all of Silver Jeans products. I have several pair of jeans and consistently wear a 28. These shorts, however, literally fell off of me in a size 28.

I sized down to a 26 and they are still a little large. I decided to keep them loose rather than exchange them again. Consider sizing way down. I hope you love them as much as I do.

These are really nice shorts. I love the length, I am tall so the length on these is just perfect. I feel very comfortable in these and feel like they look nice on me. Shorts are a difficult thing for many women to feel comfortable in, especially as we age and have vein issues, etc.

These are beautifully cut with great thigh coverage, and the fabric is soft and forgiving, true to size in my regular size and I love that they wash nicely as well. I never put them in the dryer just air dry for a few minutes and hang to dry.

I bought twilight which I really like but I also want to buy the black at some point if they come back in stock. I love the little slit on the side hem, I think it’s very flattering on the leg. These shorts are very similar in cut and fabric to the Brigitte pants capris and shorts at Chicos if you have purchased those.

Except I think I like this material a little better, it seems a little softer to me.

These shorts are super cute. The length is nice. The 5-in inseam is a nice length the leg is straight enough. That doesn’t make it look frumpy or flare out at the bottom If it’s nicely against your leg They fabric is very soft but when you have them on they look like traditional denim.

If you like wearing the athletic biker shorts, you will love these shorts. They’re elevated version of that type of short. I got the light camo and traditional camo receive many compliments on them where the pocket is placed.

You can tuck your shirt into kind of do a half tuck which makes a short look like a traditional short instead of a pool on short. I love the functioning pockets. The waistband does not twist and it gives you a little bit of support in the tummy area.

The frayed cuff is a nice touch and they do not ride up when you walk.

Let me preface this by saying I absolutely love the Bellle tops – but the bottoms, not so much. I’ve tried several bottoms in jeans, pants and shorts and they all had a very odd fit. They pull in the crotch, grab at the thighs, and don’t have the type of give I would expect for ease of movement.

Every single bottom I tried from the Belle line (in various sizes) were a hot mess. I don’t have this problem with the other QVC fashions. These particular shorts looked cute on TV but I wouldn’t wear them out.

When I moved, even though I went up a size and they fit large in some areas and binding in others, they would still grab at the front of my thighs and various other places. It’s not a size issue, it’s a construction issue.

The frayed bottom was poorly sewn and the frays were already going up the shorts. I’ll pass on the Belle pants or shorts from now on as the quality control and fit are not there.

For sizing: -00 in tops, 0 for fabrics without stretch or swimwear. -0 (or a 12) in bottoms, sometimes 00 (or 10) depending on the cut. 0 in swimwear. -5’4, hourglass. I bought these in a 14 and a 12, kept the 12: These are so cute!! The colour is amazing, and they are perfect for summer! I have a bralette from Free People the same colour, so I style it under Torrid’s white eyelet cami and then it peeks out to match the shorts.

Anyway, I bought them in a 14 because the fabric content doesn’t have much stretch. They were too big everywhere. I bought them in a 12 and they fit beautifully! My waist is really small compared to my hips, so the waist being big is always an issue, but with the 12’s they aren’t so big that I need a belt.

You can roll them if you don’t like the straight frayed look or leave them as is. If I had anything to match them, I’d also get the lime coloured ones! <3 :).

I loved the light wash for summer and the distressing is just as pictured/ in the same spots on the shorts. I really liked the way they looked on my legs and the little bit of distressed details/ not too much distressing and skin doesn’t show through.

I took off 1 star because these have absolutely no stretch. I would say these are true to size normal denim fabric that doesn’t stretch. I ordered a 20W, which is what I normally wear when jeans/denim has a bit of stretch, but I had to return and order a 22.

I recommend size up 1 for a comfortable fit. The 20 barely fit me, but I had a muffin top going on; when denim stretches, this never happens to me. I’m hoping the 22 works better. I also really like the unique pockets.

I feel like the square cut of the pockets isn’t super common/ makes these a little more unique. These are very cute. I just find it ridiculous and quite frankly unacceptable that the company calls these stretch shorts or stretch denim when they have absolutely no stretch to them.

I used my rewards on these and I didn’t even get my rewards back/ I feel like this is on Torrid for the misleading title so while I loved the shorts/ this was kind of a negative experience because of the inaccurate title.

I recently lost a little weight and suddenly had no shorts that fit anymore. Living in Tennessee where we often have summer weather through October, I really needed something to get me through the rest of the season.

So about a month ago I hit up the clearance at Torrid and found these. I was a little on the fence when I first saw them because I typically don’t like a button fly, but after receiving them I realized I only have to unbutton the top 2 buttons to slide them on and off.

They are so cute and fit perfectly! I love them and have been wearing them practically nonstop. Highly recommend!.

I usually wear a size 8, so I was surprised when the 8 was way too tight. I figured it’s because it has no stretch, sized up and got a size 12. When I first put them on, the fit was great. But within an hour, the material has completely saggy and they ended up being so loose.

They were even coming off from my waist and I kept having the pull them up. I can’t return them since I wore them, but just beware. These do not keep their shape. The fit ends up being just horrible.

Even on my thighs, the material was saggy!! Horrible quality.

I bought these exact shorts in a size 12 last summer. This summer I bought them in a size 14 and they came in today. The 14 is literally SMALLER than the 12. I know the numbers don’t matter but it made me feel awful.

Last year sizing was 90% consistent which made online shopping easy. This year I bought several of the “same size” and all fit wildly different. Very disappointed. The shorts pictured are supposedly both 14s.

I really wanted to keep these shorts. I did buy a size up (typically 8, went up to a 10) and they fit fine. However with the sewn in cuff, there was extra material on the inseam (mirrored to match the outer hip area) that kept rubbing together and made a popping noise when I walked.

For ladies with bigger thighs that rub together when walking, I don’t see how this couldn’t be a big issue. Had to return.

Wow, these were everything I was hoping for and are the perfect white shorts! The fit is great, including the rise, and the length is perfect. The light distressing gives them a little pizzazz but it’s subtle, which is a perfect mix of trendy and classy.

These are my new favorite shorts! I’d love to see them in a light denim.

I am always skeptical of ordering clothes online. I’m an odd shape. Larger lower belly, zero junk in the trunk, and giant boobs. I LOVE THESE SHORTS. They are the perfect length if you like your shorts on the shorter side which I do.

They have a good amount of stretch but hold their form well. I typically wear 18/20 in shorts depending on where they are from. I ordered the 2x in these shorts and they fit like a glove. Buy these shorts!! They are worth it.

I have struggled to find shorts/pants from the site. Love the tops but find that the bottoms aren’t meant for anyone with any kind of midsection. They are cute and I kept them for a maybe in the future but I don’t feel they are inclusive as I am not a 3x in any shorts/bottoms and these were a struggle to even button.

Buy. These. Shorts. Buy them. After seeing them all over @roseybeeme ‘s instagram page I finally caved and am happy to report they are 100% worth it. I typically stick to Bermuda shorts because I’ve felt uncomfortable in shorter shorts but I feel SO CUTE in these.

I’ve seen these shorts recommended all over the internet and was hoping they would be my new favorites. They fit true to size and are a bit longer in the back which is nice. Another plus is that they have a good amount of stretch.

However, the material feels extremely cheap and after one wear, they pilled between the thighs. For almost $70, the quality of these shorts is not good. I wouldn’t buy again.

These are cute cut offs! The style and distressing is stylish. I bought my normal jean/pant Eloquii size and feel these shorts run a little small. That’s why I gave four stars instead of five. They “fit” and I can button/zip them, but there is not one bit of extra room as I would have expected for cut offs.

I’m keeping them in hopes of losing a few pounds so they are more comfortable.

I purchased these shorts because they have an elastic waistband. These are still too large around the waist. But fit well in the hips. It doesn’t do any good to put elastic in the waist, and continue to make the waistband the same as without elastic.

The material is very thin. The same sizes fit differently in the different colors! The light blue fit perfectly, but the dark blue was tight. I think they are over-priced for the quality.

Shorts arrived quickly. Not happy that the light denim pair has bleached front legs? They were not pictured that way when I viewed them online! It is too costly to return and they do fit so I will just keep them.

I heard so many good things about Good American and needed some new shorts this year. I order two pairs and was looking forward to having some high quality denim that fit properly. I have trouble finding bottoms that fit all over – I have a small waist, hips, smaller legs, and a booty.

For reference my measurements are 26 waist 39 hips. I tried these on and they were SO tight in the waist and loose on the bottom. It made my bum look baggy with how large the pockets are. I wish I could fit into these.

They are so cute, but unfortunately are made for a VERY SPECIFIC body type (don’t let the all inclusive denim fool you). Disappointed.

I was a little nervous because the fit for these shorts said that it was a rigid denim and has no stretch. As someone who has never worn Good American and I can’t compare to other fabrics of theirs, I can say that they definitely have stretch.

They are comfortable, fit well – especially with a high rise fit. I’ve purchased other high rise shorts for them to bunch up on the seat making me look like I have diaper butt. This denim is thinner than most because of the composition of the fabric.

For reference, I purchased a size 6: I’m 5’6, 28/29 waist, 39/40 hip, 150lb of mostly muscle on my lower half. Size chart seems to be fairly accurate with consideration of the stretch in the shorts.

I typically dont buy shorts because my thighs are super thick and have cellulite but these jean shorts are so flattering my legs look longer and you cant see the top flabby parts and my butt looks cute to boot! Helps having curvy girls make clothes for curvy girls! Thanks Khloe!.

I was pretty nervous to buy shorts online but these are amazing! I’m so glad I pulled the trigger. Fit is great. They are pretty stretchy and comfy. The holes are just the right amount and the rise is perfect to hide my mom belly.

I will be wearing these all summer! 5 stars!.

The leg openings in these shorts are ridiculously huge……they are not sized correctly. And their return policy stinks. So I’m stuck with a $50 pair of shorts that I will never wear because they make you pay to return them and then you get a gift card credit to the store.

You simply cannot get your money back. It costs to purchase anything here. I will not buy anything from here again. Not worth the headache or cost involved.

The length is perfect if you’re looking for shorts that aren’t very short, but also not so long they’re not flattering. I’m 5 2” I weigh 136 athletic build and my usual size is 4/5. I purchased a size 7 based on reviews and I’m glad I did.

They run small so size 7 fit like a size 5. Purchase 1 size larger than your usual size and you won’t be disappointed.

These are cute summer pants. Not short & Not long, just right. I ordered a size 11, I had to jump to put these Jean’s on and once I got them up, it fit good. These jeans have stretch not that much but they do stretch.

I could have went a size up but it would have fit loose in my waist area.

Love them. True to size & comfortable 10/10 recommend esp if you don’t want shorts that are ass cheeks short or knees length long.
