20 Best Tampons For Clots (2022 Updated)

I only purchased these because the full length have been discontinued and are no longer on the shelves. I hoped that Kotex merely shortened the applicator mechanism, but that is very much not the case.

These are ultimately smaller in radius and hard to hold, shorter in length and therefore do not deposit the tampon where it is needed, and I’m pretty sure the tampon itself is also smaller overall and does not stay in place.

The end result has been leakage and massive discomfort from a tampon hitting areas it should not. That’s at least just the product result. Then there’s the mental result. I am utterly devastated that I can no longer trust ANY tampon to perform the way the discontinued full length tampon performed.

I’m embarrassed at having to now discuss this issue with other women and my gynecologist. And I’m generally saddened that previously I could easily recommend Kotex brand with a true smile on my face, but not now.

I cannot recommend these or any other Kotex tampons currently on the market to anyone with heavy flow like mine. These simply do not work for extended protection. They work only for a very short while in an emergency, which to me was the whole point of the smaller, compact version, but since I always planned ahead, I always relied on the full size and never previously bought the compact version after testing then one time when they were first brought to market as a “discrete in your purse” emergency item.

These were never marketed to be an everyday use item, not should they be used as such, because they simply don’t work as well. I cared more about my comfort and the “secure mind” I had using the Security full size, so I carried the full size everywhere with me.

I never even bought the compact for my purse, because I knew they would simply be an inferior alternative. A forced decision to purchase this product again by discontinuing the full size product has not changed my mind nor my long-standing review of such compact version.

This compact version is simply insufficient for my needs.

I mostly have either a wallet or clutch so the perfect little compact size they come in are genius. Leaving room in my wallet for other essentials I carry. Not only are they held in my wallet, these are in the glove box of the car to grab in case one of my girls or I need to make an emergency pit stop period run to a public restroom.

(This design could go either way though depending how experienced you are with using tampons. ) 2) They are unscented chlorine free! Which is highly recommended being tampons, any tampon, are NO GOOD but scented tampons are even more dangerous.

Please read into this if you are someone who uses scented tampons. 3) These “Supers” hold up very well holding up to 12-15g of absorbency. Just as well as other name brands. The box recommends changing before an 8 hour period.

I have a very heavy flow my first two days and this lasts for about two and a half hours. com The only few downfalls in my opinion would be. 1) These are a bit too expensive for my liking @ $7. 12 for a 30 count box, I feel there are other brands that do the same job for a lesser amount. 2) The compact size as I stated above might not be the best option for a less experienced/younger female because it could be uncomfortable/hurt with insertion.

I have always loved compact applicator tampons versus any other tampon with applicator. If I use tampons, I have to have a plastic applicator because it is the most painless way for me to insert a tampon.

The more environmentally friendly ways to insert tampons are painful to me, I tried. U by Kotex has the most slender applicator, so slender, I hardly felt it inside when I inserted tampon! Painless and quick insertion! The wrappers all have beautiful, unique colorful patterns on them and were marked R for regular absorbancy and S for super absorbancy on a black circle on each wrapper so you can tell them apart.

The wraps also have an open guide to take the guess work out of which end to open along with a convenient knotch in wrapper side for easy opening. My only negative was that it was hard to tell which tampons were regular or super when pulling them out of box as some had similar colored wrappers.

May want to consider narrowing the main wrapper colors down to 2 distinct colors for each absorbancy, but still keep with the artsy patterns. My period is starting off a bit lighter so I am testing the regular absorbancy 1st and will switch to super for bedtime if flow increases.

Applicator extends and clicks in place and stays locked in for easy insertion without you worrying about it collapsing like some older brands did. I don’t work tell tomorrow so will be curious on how these perform on a more active day.

So far experiencing no cramping which is something I had with a different brand so that’s plus. I receiving these tampons #complimentary from @kotex and @Influenster in exchange for my honest review.

I was a happy customer with the regular and super combo pack I received monthly on subscribe & save but the redesign is awful. The cotton tampon expands length-wise which was fine before, but now when it expands, it actually expands out of my vagina which we all know that feeling is so uncomfortable.

The plastic applicator was great before the new design, which I assume is to save plastic because the area where there are several bumps for grip to compress the tampon inside while pulling the application out is so thin and flimsy now.

If you have any bit of hair, you are pulling the hair while trying so hard to pinch the applicator tightly to pull out. I have to use my nails (thankfully they have some length this cycle), otherwise I would not be able to pull these out.

I had a box left over from my previous order, and the plastic applicators are totally different.

I really wanted to like these as my old brand of tampon was no longer working for me. I really like that the applicator is clear so I could see that there was no fraying of the tampon (which had been happening with my old brand).

However, I did not love the grip on the applicator and found it hard to get the tampon out of the applicator. My major issue was the feel of the tampon itself. They seem to expand lengthwise rather than outward like most other brands.

After awhile it felt like it was poking me and starting to stick out of my body. I tried several times with the same results. I am very disappoinyed because these are expensive tampons.

These used to be the best organic cotton tampons. Everything about the was perfect. I was so disappointed when I opened a new box to see they were totally different. The new packing/wrappers are fine, but the tampon applicator doesn’t work anymore! You can’t grip them and it’s back to bathroom gymnastics to get the stupid thing in.

The plunger doesn’t push and it’s so hard. You took a great product and downgraded it to being the same as all of the others. I am SO disappointed. PLEASE bring the old applicators back.

As we all know, Kotex has discontinued the Security line of tampons which are the only ones I have ever used. I have tried their Compact Click in different absorbencies without success. The entire line is HORRIBLE!!!! The Click tampons are MUCH smaller & shorter than the Security tampons and insertion is super uncomfortable because they don’t advance far enough to feel securely in place.

Once placed, you’ll leak within an hour if you’re a woman with a regular to heavy flow. In addition to being shorter, the applicator doesn’t have the raised ridge that the Security tampons had to easily grip while inserting the cotton part or when removing it.

I’m a 46 year old woman. I have NEVER used both my hands to insert a tampon until Click! Believe me, the creators of the Click tampon have found a way to make it an uncomfortable experience as well as a messy one! It’s unfortunate that they’ve decided to discontinue the Security tampons that work and that so many women depended on, but it’s the bottom line ($) that drives those at the top, not the loyalty or dependency of the consumer.

Saying “it was a difficult decision to discontinue” is just a nice and a shrouded way of saying it’s too costly to maintain the Security product and they’re probably hoping to transition their consumers to a teeny-bopper product while saving on cost.

Must have been a man who made the decision to discontinue. So much for trying to END “period poverty”!! Ha! I wonder if they realize that they have STARTED period poverty for all of the women who depended on their product for DECADES who now have to try to find a period alternative.

The irony! Thankfully, I have found a comparable product in CVS brand of Super and Super Plus Tampons. They’re VERY similar to the Security line and much cheaper! Try those and forget these Click tampons (and the Kotex brand altogether).

These are worst tampons I have ever used in my 20 years of needing tampons. They leak more than a drippy faucet. I can’t trust them at night that’s for sure I have to wear a pad and a tampons to feel like comfortable enough to sleep without a towel under me so I don’t have wash sheets.

Kotex you messed up bad by getting discontinuing your other tampons. What a stupid business practice to only have type of something you specialize in. Let’s use underwear as an example Hanes probably sells 4 or 5 different styles because not everyone is everyBODY is the same tampons are the same way why would you discontinue a very, very popular style in lue of a style that isn’t a very obviously doesn’t work for alot of your customers? It sounds more to me like a bunch of men running the company made $ by just producing the horrible click tampons.

Heck even Tampax has more than 1 choice, Walmart has more than 1 choice. I just don’t get it I have reading angry messages on your site for months it seems like no one cares. It’s been months and months or angry a n d begging messages for YOUR CUSTOMERS get the hint just sayin before maybe it’s too late and people have moved from you.

I’m a small business owner I know customers are important I also know that right now there are other newer options on the market that are more cost effective than your products so I might think that keeping what customers we do have would be a very good idea.

So, this is the first time I’ve purchased the “Radiant” style and I did so simply due to ‘price + multi-size option’ comparison and felt this was the best choice for me. That said, I kinda like this style better than the others (I’ve used the standard and Pearl varieties) and think I’ll stick with it.

I like that the wrapper isn’t loud (okay, I know it’s not something we should be embarrassed about but I also don’t especially feel like advertising/announcing it in a public bathroom), and I really like that the wrapper is resealable for easy disposal of the applicator.

After a couple decades I may have just stumbled upon a style that I’ll become loyal to; something that previously I didn’t really care or think much about (brand/style) one way or another. PLUS I like this type because the wrappers have a sticker that allows you to put the used applicator in and toss in the trash.

AND These are some of the most comfortable feminine products I have used. SO What ELSE Can I say. they do what they’re supposed to do. I like them they work well and are very comfortable so my conclusion I would definitely recommend them.

I like almost everything about these! I love the resealable wrapper, and how quiet they are! The tube is not like some others I’ve tried that are like too plasticy and aren’t good for use. The only issue I have with these is the braided string.

In theory, it sounds great! I actually think with a few tweaks to it, it would/could be great!! But for now, the string for me always seems to become unbraided like half or 3/4 the way up, so it becomes extremely thin string that is almost impossible to grip, without hurting your fingers.

Then it seems like it’s going to get stuck and that’s terrifying! It becomes an anxiety filled situation an that’s just not cool. It could be that my body is part of the issue? But when that happens it seems really really difficult to get out, and the light is the lowest you can find.

Right?? Idk, other than the string situation they’re great. But maybe a thicker string or more secure braiding all the way down. or both. I think that would help. unless it’s just me lol.

Alright so, the compact tampons are terrible, just why? And the regular tampons USED to be great, then they changed them. The change was a complete difference. The applicator was a huge downgrade. The new one is flimsy and hard to use.

The tampons also DOUBLED in length. I used to love these because they were shorter and opened all around. Now they are very long and open only one way. I can’t even use the new ones, they’re so bad. I’m very disappointed, as these used to be my favorite.

What were the makers thinking?!?! Serious serious downgrade, not new and improved.

I really wanted to like these, but I feel like the tampon is too long in length. I don’t know if it just my body—even though women tend to have similar sizes on the inside—but the tampon feels very uncomfortable when inside.

It feels like I has not been inserted all the way. I usually use L tampons from Target and I compared the actual length of those to raels and raels is way longer. It’s a shame because I just bought a jumbo pack from Costco :(.

I received a sample of Rael Organic Cotton Tampons With Compact Applicators (Regular, Super, & Super Plus) through PinchME in exchange for my honest review. I have tried other organic cotton tampons from a different company in the past, and the ones from Rael were far better.

I appreciated that the applicators were semi-transparent, so I could see how nice and clean the cotton inside was. The applicators functioned well; they had good grip areas, slid smoothly, and were of appropriate size and length.

I did not feel they were quite as absorbent as the mainstream tampons I have used, but I’m assuming that is because they are organic and not filled with who-knows-what. The only real negative about them was the fact that, when full, the expanded shape is cylindrical, as opposed to being tapered on the end that the string is attached to, which makes them slightly uncomfortable to remove.

But that is a complaint I have had with all but one specific non-organic brand of tampon, so I did not remove any stars for that. Overall, I was very pleased with this product.

I’ve been loyally using o. b. for something like 30 years! I have tried applicator tampons and found them absolutely impossible to insert properly and comfortably. Agree with other reviewers that the original is more absorbent than these new “pro comfort” ones though.

And the multi-packs REALLY need more super and ultra absorbency ones. Am I the only one who has three full boxes of leftover “regular” ones just hanging around for my half a light day every month? My favorite thing about this product though is the convenience—I’m not much of a purse girl, and I can fit THREE of these into that weird tiny front pocket of my jeans.

When I find out. b. Ultra on shelves I purchase several boxes. It is the only product to give me 2-3 hours of manageable peace on heavy flow days allowing me to go to work and not bleed through my pants.

My doctor says my only other option os to cauterize my uterus lining. thst is NOT a choice. When o. b. Ultra is not available and my stockpile has run out I have a very big and messy problem. I’ve been using non applicator OB tampons since I was a teenager and they’re still my preferred tampon. It’s so shocking to me that A. More people don’t use them and B. I still get wild (and negative)reactions from women (no applicator!?).

Grown women saying “ew you’re sticking your finger up there” #1, ladies liberate yo self lol and #2 how far up there you think you need to go!? Anyway, best tampon on the market from less packaging, less space it takes up in your purse (fits in your pocket!) And absorbability.

10/10 can’t recommend enough (currently hard to find though #shortage).

I received these Oi Organic Initiative Super Tampons and I was certainly intrigued. They are mostly comfortable, absorbent, and supposedly naturally expand to your form. Oi cotton tampons are made with 100% certified organic cotton and are hypoallergenic.

If you are sensitive in that area, than these are for you. They are individually wrapped with a twist to unlock cardboard applicator that is biodegradable. Very easy to use. I don’t know if I will be converting to these on a regular basis but the provide pretty decent support for that time of the month.

I love this brand in either super/superplus, with my condition monthly this is a great long lasting tampon compared to all others on market! All other brands are compact now and dont even compare to the flow count of the kotex brand! BEST PRODUCT FOR ME BUT HARD TO FIND NOW!.

I have tried pretty much every type of tampon out there. I have always had a pretty normal period and flow and Feel like these have provided me with the best absorbancy hands down. I feel like for a “regular” tampon this is better then just regular.

The price point was perfect for my budget. After all these years I finally found my brand.

I’ve had the opportunity to try o. b. organic tampons. I received the product for free, but the following are my true thoughts and opinions, which I know sounds cliché to what everyone else says, but I am being serious.

I’ve only spoken to 3 people (my mom, my sister and my husband) about the o. b. organic tampons and my Smiley 360 mission. Obviously, my husband doesn’t really care about feminine products as long as I like them, my mom didn’t really say much, but my sister informed me of other brands that also do organic feminine products.

She was aware of the o. b. brand, which she didn’t mention if she had tried or not but told me she was going to go with another brand that delivers the products to her. When looking up information on it I noticed that it is similar to a monthly subscription, in which you can customize what you want to get, but you have the ability to stop receiving the products with no cancelation fees if you so choose.

Furthermore, not only do they have tampons, but they also have pads, pantiliners and wipes. When I tried the first tampon all I could think about was how clean I felt. I’m not the type of person who usually uses products and writes reviews, but this time seemed different.

During the entire time of using the product all I could think about was what I was going to write in my review. Now I’m not some hoity toity person that just creates reviews and completely brags or degrades products to get money or other types of products, etc.

I am a real person and I seriously think that this is a good product. It may not be a good product for some, and some may think it’s complete BS, but I am on the fence about it. That is because I have grown up using a different type of brand than o.

b. , but I was more than happy to try something new. When using the tampon, I seriously felt clean, good and happy for not only myself but my body as well. It legit made me feel happy and warm inside to know that I didn’t have toxins from a product in my body that I did not want or need.

I would recommend the product to anyone who would like to try something new just to see what their thoughts are as well. The only thing that really bothered me was that I wasn’t sure if the tampon fully worked the first time as I did notice slight leakage.

I noticed that the applicator seemed bigger than that of a regular tampon from a different brand, which I didn’t have any issues with, but it was something I definitely took note of. Also, upon looking at their website, I noticed that they do larger absorbencies, but they do not have a light absorbency.

I would like to see and possible test that product as I feel I use light tampons more than regulars. Oh, the joys of having a menstrual cycle, and to boot, having a menstrual cycle after the birth of a child! The ups and downs and all arounds, the joys of being a female.

But seriously, I think this is a decent product although I do not know if I would continue using it as I mentioned that they do not have a light absorbency which I prefer. #freesample Update: I know this is probably TMI, but I think everyone should know in the case that they decide to purchase and use o.

b. tampons. I just went poo and what happened to fall out. my tampon! Now this is something that rarely happens so either I did not insert it all the way or it was longer than I thought. I guess we won’t know.

The reviews for this product were super misleading. I was so disappointed. I bought these because they are organic, but they are so cheap! The initial insertion is smooth, but then after that, it doesn’t continue to go in smoothly.

I can feel how rough they are. I noticed these only expand sideways and not in a 360 degree manner. I found they are also super difficult to remove. I do realize we are all different down there, but after using 10 tampons, I just knew it wasn’t me.

The absorbency is decent, but could be better if they didn’t just expand sideways. I won’t be buying these again. I’m finishing up the box, but these are crap.

These compact tampons are junk. I have used Kotex security full size for over 20 years and these new compact tampons are poor quality no matter how much shelf space Kotex gains at the store. The applicators are smaller, there is no plastic ridge to grip for easy and clean insertion.

The tampon itself is smaller in length, is supposed to expand like a parachute, and is sharply edged so when you go to dispose of it it is very uncomfortable. I’ve had my children buy some section so I do not have the stretch available to accommodate a tampon that’s supposed to open like a parachute and so they leak.

Part of that reason they leak is because they are half the size of the original full size tampon. Now there is some weird extra material on the string that causes leaks as well. If you look at the other reviews you will see the exact same thing I have said in my review.

You say that you listen to our feedback but apparently you’re not. I’m 47 so I will buy all the Walmart around generic invitations that I can find for now and hopefully menopause will come and I will no longer have this problem.

Congrats on joining the other companies who are making their products all the same in order to attract young teenagers who think they have to hide their tampons and gain more shelf space. Your product is the exact replica of Tampax tampons which I have disliked for the same reasons I have listed above.

In a curvy women and I cannot use one hand to use your click tampons. I need your discontinued line to come back. I can’t be going to the bathroom at workever hour to change a tampon that takes me forever to insert.

You say u discontinued the tampons that everyone here is obviously been buying for years because of “business reasons”, but it seems like u are loosing more customers when u discontinued a line that makes women better about having to deal with periods.

I feel gross and dirty using ur product now. I’m in tears now every period because I don’t have the ease from the original product that has worked for many women. Every month is now a horrible mess. The only product that’s comes close is walmart equate brand that’s similar, but I can never find them in stores now that everyone is moving to that brand.

You have no idea what we curvy women have to go through every month now. I was skeptical after reading reviews that they were uncomfortable and people couldn’t hey them out of the packaging. I had difficulty with the first one, until I realized that the wrap around label has a pull around tab.

Once you pull that, it comes off and you can pull the top and bottom off. No issues since and so worth not wasting all the plastic. These travel nice in the purse or the pocket. I found before that the ones left in the purse would open up.

I didn’t want to use them then because it didn’t seem clean. No issues with these and they are small. I do not find the tampons uncomfortable at all. Yes the plastic applicator makes it more comfortable to insert.

It’s not that bad though and as long as you push the tampon in as far as you can, I can’t even feel it. Worth it for the environment and so easy to carry around discreetly.

This is one of the only brand, type of tampon I can actually use and feel comfortable knowing that I am 100% positive it will not leak on me. I only like the plastic applicators because they glide right in with no problems! I have super bad periods which is genetic runs in my family as my great grandmother, my Mammy, my Mother have all had it bad when it comes to periods.

When I tell you filling up a super tampon in an hour or two is easy for me to do, I’m not lying! I’ve always had issues finding tampons that didn’t leak even when they weren’t “full”! [brand:tampax] is a reliable brand and trustworthy when it comes to knowing your going to be okay to go to cheer practice, or yoga and not have an accident.

I use a thin pad for extra protection (on my heavy days) for extra caution and I end up never bleeding through UNLESS I have slept through 8hrs, then sometimes it’s only obvious that you would bleed through your tampon.

I truly stand behind [brand:tampax] and all of their products.

For all my ladies out there, I would always suggest this product. Obviously there are different absorbancies for your different flows. I for one am someone that suffers with PCOS so its always a little (or sometimes very) heavy to begin with and these have always worked great.

I can only use an a plastic applicator. I can’t figure out a non applicator tampon and the cardboard ones are actually pretty painful to insert 😳 but these make the job smooth and simple. Another plus side is theyre pocket size! So you can discreetly put them in your purse or wherever.

The only reason I haven’t given them 5 stars is because they’re not too great on the environment unfortunately.

My go to tampons, great absorbency never had a leak with these, last a few hours before they need changing. They don’t irritate my skin either and have no perfume or chemical scent to them which I love.

The packaging is nice though that doesn’t really matter. They aren’t bulky and fit snug with no issues. Not too expensive and a lot more compact to hide in your handbag. When in the packaging it’s only about 2 inches long so easy to slip up your sleeve if you need to nip to the toilet at work and don’t want to carry your bag with you.

The string is a good length too it won’t get lost easily or be hanging out too much either. Overall great product.
