14 Best Tank For Flavor (2022 Updated)

It’s a propane canister. It’s tougher than some from other manufacturers. It doesn’t rust as quickly. I use these to power camp stoves, lanterns, space heaters, blow torches and my sailboat’s galley stove in a marine environment.

An inexpensive adaptor, a few videos and some practice allows you to refill these from a 20 lb. tank. Once you master this, you never feel guilty using them again. Eventually they corrode or the valves wear out and it’s time to discard, but you’ve probably gotten another 20 or more uses out of a single canister.

Official refillable canisters are great, easier to refill with the proprietary kit, and more durable, but cost significantly more. I’m the guy at campgrounds taking empties from folks and refilling at home.

I have two milk crates filled with canisters. I refill about twice a year, and it’s easy. Just get brass caps to seal them. Nothing wrong with this tech, but I do wish that a recycling and/or returning option was addressed by society.

No one can deny the convenience of these propane cylinders. However these cylinders take an extra effort to dispose of safely and properly. Coleman’s “Green Key” program has been terminated because of several difficulties with the program with recyclers and hazardous waste programs.

I will need to find alternatives to these propane cylinders. So top marks for convenience but a low score for sustainability.

Have only used it a few times. For the most part, I am happy with the grill. One thing that I do not like is that there is no place the hang a grill cleaning brush from its handle. Other grills I have had have always had a hook you could hang something from.

Also, I agree with other reviews that I have read that the bottom plate is slanted in such a way that the grease does not run out the hole into the grease cup. It pools at the bottom of the grill and you have to scoop it out to clean it.

For the price I paid, I am satisfied.

I purchased this, a spun gas tank, along with a bunch of odds and ends for an obscure jet boat build currently underway. Everything has fit the needs of the project thus far. Could not be more pleased.

This is perfect (with the 5’ attachment hose also available from Sportsman’s Guide) for use with my Mr Heater Portable Buddy allowing me run it at either 4K and even 9K settings ALL NIGHT without having to change out / replace the 1lbs.

bottle you usually run it on. Prior to this I’d hate waking up to a cold tent in the wee hours of the morning and have to change the bottle and start the heater up again!!! I simply run the connecting hose though the zipped tent door enabling me to keep the tank outside.

I also use it to supply my propane torch burner. This allows me to move around easily as I burn brush etc. without having to lug around a 20 lbs tank. Sportsman’s Guide also sells a similar tank except it’s 10 lbs.

I bought this 5-lb. propane tank mainly because of its price, which is about the best I could find either online or in brick-and-mortar stores. I use it for my camp stove in place of the annoying and expensive 1-lb.

disposable canisters I made myself an adapter for hooking up this refillable bulk tank to my stove through an adjustable pressure regulator. For this purpose, the tank performs perfectly, and its already well on its way to paying for itself by dramatically reducing the cost of cooking with my camp stove e.

g. , a 1-lb. canister costs about the same as a 5-lb. refill!. The tank came with a little plastic level gauge that can be easily removed and re-installed. The gauge works by magnetically detecting the level of the tanks overpressure-protection device OPD.

At first I thought the gauge was faulty because after filling the tank for the first time, the gauge showed that the tank was almost empty !. However, now after using the tank on a three-day camping trip, the gauge is reporting that the tank is almost completely full, which I believe.

I suspect that when the tank is filled to the brim, the OPD is so close to the gauge that it saturates the magnetic-detection method, rendering a nonsensical measurement. Now that the level in the tank has dropped a bit, the OPD is within the gauges usable range, and the gauge therefore now registers a reasonable value.

One final thing:the tank comes with a sticker on the valve indicating that the tank has been vacuum purged. Keep this sticker: since this was the first time to fill the tank, the guy at the propane store wouldnt fill the tank unless I could prove that the tank had been vacuum purged.

I had one of these some 20yrs ago. And worked for hunting & camping trips. One time I was camping in the deep woods of Oregon and I forgot to get my tank filled. Mind you, I was riding a Mt. Bike at the time.

So I had pulled up to the LP filling place and asked for a fill up. The said, “Well, where is your tank?” I got off my bike and took off my backpack. The guy looked at me like I was mad. I opened my backpack and pulled out this size LP tank and said, “Here you go Sir.

The product itself works great. However, my comments are directed towards purchasing through sportsman guide. If you are new to having your own tank as I was, be aware that tanks only have a 12 year life span because of the valves.

All tanks have dates on them and propane refilling stations will not refill them after the 12 year mark. Unfortunately, I was not aware of this fact until I got to the refill station and they already starting filling my tank making it not returnable.

I bought 2 tanks in April of 2022, but the dates on them were over 2 years old dated from 2020. This means sportsmansguide sold me tanks that were sitting on their shelves for 2 years, but still charging full price (not to mention higher than what Amazon was charging) for a product that only has 84% life time capacity of a new tank.

Beware if you buy a tank from sportsmansguide and make sure you check the date before you fill them.

Glad I found this with the gauge already attached. I have never used propane and as with anything else gas powered, its good to know that you are about to run out of gas before you actually do and the price wasn’t bad either.

I bought it because of the harsh winter we had in the Dallas area last year. I didn’t want to have to rely on firewood again. I’m going to use this with the Big Buddy Heater and this will be a welcome difference.

Yes, the item appears to be well made. I really like the fact that the OPD valve is already installed. It has been stated by others, that this type is more accurate, however that remains to be seen. I purchased item to refill Flame King 1lb bottles for a Big Buddy Heater.

I purchased their refill kit, the legal and safe way to refill the 1lb bottles, no waste. Flame King products are good and their made in the USA!.

Not worth the cost OR the gymnastics you have to perform to get into the canister. Pros: Relatively quiet as long as you have the canister located away from you. Cons: Top locking knobs pop off the canister easily but are practically impossible to pop back on.

Inner layers of the canister are awkward and messy to remove and place back in (locking arms to lift the canisters falls out of place and off way too easily) Despite the fx4 being overkill for my 125 gallon tank that only has 3 juvenile tinfoil barbs and a pleco, it doesn’t keep the tank crystal clear, and I have to dig into the canister almost weekly to change out the polishing pad because any debris in the polishing pad stifles the outflow of water down to a trickle and throws my tank cycle off.

Starting up the canister filter after cleaning the tank and changing even just the cleaning pad jettisons residual particles from the lines into the newly filled tank making it look dirty again. The particles eventually cycle out of the tank but add to the burden on the polishing pad and it’s a never ending cycle.

I’ve been struggling with this canister filter for 7 months thinking it would be a better alternative to hang on the back filters, but find myself wishing I would have just bought two of those for a fraction of the price of this canister filter.

Although Fluval customer service was very timely in responding to my questions, the only real solution they had was to purchase more of their brand liquid products to help with tank clarity (I had already informed them I use Seachem products).

For the price of this unit, and the continued cost of replacement medias internal to the canister itself, if the only solution to get the quality performance I wanted is to purchase even more Fluval products in addition to the unit, it’s a good indicator that the fx4 unit is not all it’s cracked up to be.

I needed a quick replacement for my Penn Plax that was going out. Based on availability and reviews, needing something that is about 3 times the gallon strength due to the large bio load and wanting to get something that would last a while, I went with this Fluval model.

Pros: it’s quiet (as long as each and every piece is sealed and no air can get in) and is powerful enough for the bio load to keep my tank clean (so far) Cons: it requires water in the filter to start making it heavy to carry to start.

There are A LOT of pieces to put together and take apart which will make filter cleaning longer. Screwing and unscrewing 8 knobs, forcing 8 long screws out of their connection, cleaning, doing the reverse with the screws and knobs and ensure the seal is tight is difficult and time consuming.

The tubing is very ridged to conform to the clamp on the rim, where you want the in and out positioned on the tank and where you want the filter positioned under the tank. The intake is REALLY long for a 40 gallon long tank so I couldn’t use the clamp for the intake without it sucking up all the sand substrate.

I had to be creative so the intake wasn’t lopsided without the clamp. Because of having to conform with the ridged ness, I had to sacrifice organization and appearance until I can figure out what to do for long term future state.

But for now, it does what it needs to do.

I’ve been hesitant to move to canister filtration because I thought the noise level would go up dramatically and that it’s overall harder to maintain. Let me tell you how wrong I was. I must have purchased at least 3 different hang on back filters one more expensive than the other and was always dissatisfied with the the noise.

This filter is dead silent. My aquarium is 3 feet away from my bed and you can’t hear anything, no clicks, rumbles, nothing. There is a very slight hum, but you have to listen very closely. It’s absolutely wonderful.

The only thing is that you will still have to have the outlet nozzle above the water line. I tried it with the outlet below the water line and was completely silent but the problem is that the water then doesn’t have enough aeration and it affects the fish.

It needs to be slightly above the water line to create a slight waterfall and turbulence, which does create some extra noise, but it’s just the nature of how these things work. You’d probably need a sump or aerate the water in some other way if you want complete silence, but it is achievable.

As for the actual filtration, it’s great. I thought I wouldn’t notice a big difference since my hang on back filters were pretty powerful, but it’s 10x better. With the hang on backs I had occasional cloudy water, some occasional bacterial blooms and such.

Never with this filter, and I had it for 6 months now. The water is always crystal clear. Just load it up and it works. I can’t believe I was using those crappy filters for so long, this just feels like night and day.

The construction is very solid, the looks are great too, kind of looks like a piece of high tech scuba gear or something. Overall there are zero complaints. I’ve watched some YouTube reviews and more experienced keepers say that the interior compartments are too small to hold enough bio media, but It’s got 3 compartments for that.

Literally half of it is used to hold bio media, so I can’t really complain, but then again I don’t have a huge tank (using it on a 30 gallon). The cleaning is super easy, nothing like the hang on back filters.

I had to remove those from the back of the aquarium while they were still full of water and always inevitably spilled some of the debris inside it back into the tank. Then cleaning out the tiny spaces was always a struggle.

Not with this filter. The hoses unclamp in one motion via the dual head latch. You pretty much just take the top off and carry the bucket to a bath tub and it cleans out easily. After you remove all the stuff inside it’s literally just a bucket so cleaning is a breeze and never any spills.

So overall I can’t recommend this more. If had known the benefits of canister filters before I started the hobby I would have just went straight for them. The hang on backs are a just a complete waste of time, but it’s hard for a beginner to realize that until they try one of these.

I don’t care if you have a 10 gallon, get a Fluval 107 model instead and adjust the flow. You will not be disappointed.

Great bottle to keep your water icy cold. I used this bottle when I go kayak fishing and it kept my Gatorade icy cold. I went for about 6 hours in the scorching heat and the ice cubes I put in there still remains.

I used to use a normal esky bottle but the ice melts and is not cold anymore.

I bought this after reading several reviews about it’s performance and toughness. It does keep your drink cold, or hot. But what it doesn’t do is keep it inside the bottle. Look at the website of this company, people are climbing mountains, and keeping hydrated with this bottle.

Well they better not drop it. Mine fell off my desk at work, a fall of 30″ onto a carpeted floor. The top sheared off. The black 2 fingered part that you see in the pick sailed 10′ away and the part of the top with the threads stayed in the bottle, as the contents leaked all over the floor.

I figured that there must be a fault in the casting of the top, (or worst case scenario an engineering shortfall that would need to be addressed, some type of recall. ) Contacted the manufacture, they got right back to me and said.

Too bad, buy a new one. Why would I ever by another one if they wont stand behind their product? It’s junk, at least the top is. And the flippant customer service is unappreciated. The seller on eBay was wiling to do more than the company.

I’ll never buy another 50/50 product. Maybe the hint is in the name. 50% trash.

I had previously bought one on clearance at a different store. I love it and use it nearly every day. I recently thought it’d be nice to have in other colors and began to search. BBB had the best price! I love the color and although there are some small dents (but hey that’s the risk you run by buying online and not personally inspecting an item in store) its performance should not be affected and I will get great use out of the product.

I have been limping along with two 5 gallon plastic jugs as my containers for the ATO. They were a pain to fill without making a mess, and were not clear. This activity was also hard on the back. This Crystal reservoir has a large opening which makes filling from my wheeled 32 gallon RO container a snap.

My ATO pump hose is bigger than the drilled 1/4″ holes so I just ran the hose through the cord hole in the lid opening, it is big enough for the 5/8″ hose and the power cord to fit through and I am still able to close the lid.

Easy setup and looks great. I should have started with this.

I purchased one for my ATO and was so pleased decided to purchase another for my salt water. I use Neptune products for ATO and also water changes (DOS system) and these containers work great in conjunction with those systems.

The size / shape works real well for cabinets, tight spaces, etc. I think the price is a little high – however – they are well made, good quality products. Of course – BRS service, delivery, “frequent flyer” program, etc is industry best.

I have a 50 gal cube tank and needed an ATO reservoir. I’m limited on space, so the Trigger Systems 5 gal crystal reservoir was the perfect option. The reservoir sits on the floor between my tank stand and guitar amp.

Risky??? I am completely confident the reservoir will not leak. The lid keeps moisture inside the reservoir while preventing dust and dog and cat hair from falling inside and making its way into my sump and tank.

I have had my tank since December 2018. I hadn’t had any issue until late last night when I heard running water coming from the front of the tank. The silicone had a significant leak; thank goodness I was home to empty the tank.

The live rock, fish, and years of work are a complete loss. The clean-up is ridiculous, and the customer support from the Red Sea is just the same. Good luck if you have any issues.

I will admit that Red Sea does make very nice setups. The tank features low-iron glass and a shaded back panel, and black silicone edges that are perfect. The tank sits flush on the stand with no bulky stand sticking out around the edges.

The top of the stand and the inside floor feature a nice rubber top. The plumbing is fine; I have no issues with plumbing, as that is something that a reefer always changes. The only drawback I see is the small RODI reservoir.

It really is tiny. I will eventually convert that to a fuge though.

The quality of this tank is hands down at the high end. The tank sits on top of a layer of neoprene so it looks like it is floating. The soft close doors work perfectly. The overflow can actually be adjusted to be perfectly silent.

My one quality issue is that the return line is 1/2 inch, where the specs say 3/4 inch. Also there is absolutely no shipping or tracking notification whatsoever. Even if you inquire you just get a guesstimate.
