20 Best Tanning Accelerator Outdoor (2022 Updated)

I remember my Mom having her friend pick this tanning lotion up for her from FL from when I was a little girl, I always remembered the smell of it and loved it! When I got older, I went on a hunt for this tanning dry oil and lotion and as soon as I saw the Koala and orange cap, I knew I found it! I always purchase this exact one and it really helps jumpstart your tan especially those of us stuck in the Midwest lol! I love how it soaks into your skin so quickly and it isn’t oily or sticky and smells amazing!!! I would absolutely recommend this to others who haven’t tried it! I will continue to buy Australian Gold for as long as it it available, which is hopefully forever!!!.

I can’t find this on Wpg. shelves as of last year and a half, so glad to find it on well. ca. Don’t let the label fool you into thinking it’s oil, or oily, because it’s a gel. I have always used this because when rubbed on your skin it doesn’t roll off into “dimethiconey like balls” or pieces like the others, especially when layered with other lotions or creams.

It is a transparent brown gel. It has a small amount of natural bronzer from walnut. I don’t like dha bronzers, they tend to make me turn orange. I like to use the dry oil as a serum on my face before i put on another cream.

This dry oil is safe for indoor tanning beds, and is a cheap alternative for pricey tanning lotions. I like to use it as a starter before I move on to tingle lotions. I use this dry oil for outdoor tanning too, and it is nothing like an oil, and doesn’t clog my pores and make me break out.

Love the scent!.

Since I have dark olive skin (when I’m tan) this is my go to. It’s got a great summery feel to it, scent is tropical and delicious. Helps keep my skin softer as well. I tend to have dryer skin and suffer from ketosis pilaris so this doesn’t irritate my skin, it instead helps with the dry cracking.

When I’m out at the beach I like to feel sexy and tan, and once I get my base tan going this is all I use all over, except my face. It doesn’t get five stars because the package can get greasy and hard to manage in sand.

Fix that and I’ll be super excited. I keep my products in a ziplock bag and then in a pouch for protection, however I still get sand everywhere and on this packaging it tends to stick and stay. If you want a nice deep dark tan and can handle it, use this for your tanning lotion or oil.

For a sunscreen I’m kind of picky. To me is important that it’s lightweight, doesn’t leave a greasy skin (typical oily skin problems) and doesn’t feel sticky. I love the formula of this sunscreen. It’s light, stays nicely and is hydrating.

I use my daily moisturizer before putting this sunscreen and I’m so glad I can enjoy the sunlight without feeling like my skin is all oiled up. I’d say this is nice for anyone, whether you have tan or not.

If you’re pale and want to get a bronze skin then this is the right product, if you have a tan this will enhance it and still will give you a nice golden, bronze glow. ✨.

I love this now. I never before used an instant bronzer, so I’m an inexperienced newbie, and this stuff was effortless!! I didn’t even try that hard and there was no streaking, no blotching, no orange tone.

You should know the bronzing tone it gives you is subtle, which is perfect for my Irish complexion! It gives me just enough color so I don’t look anemic. It’s highly moisturizing, but the fragrance is not what I imaged after reading the other reviews.

It’s the one thing I’m not crazy about. People rave it smells like heaven, but to me, it smells like cheap bubble gum. BUT, when it dries, it smells pleasant. It also has a tiny, TINY amount of shimmer, which is absolutely flattering to the skin tone.

It is extremely faint, not glittery or juvenile. Just helps give a subtle glow. Will buy again!.

I’m on a vacation with my husband in the Dominican for our 5th anniversary, and I bought some of this before our trip. I used it on Monday, and kept using it throughout the week…only just yesterday did I realize that the painful and extremely itchy rash that has developed on my arms was caused by this oil.

Nothing like this has EVER happened to me before, and it was my first time using this product. I’m obviously not near my home, so I can’t just go to the doctor. The concierge at the resort at which we are staying called a pharmacy to have some hydrocortisone cream delivered for me.

It cost us $40 for a tiny tube. We fly home tomorrow and I’m not sure I’ll have enough to last me until I get home. I’m very upset as this has definitely affected our vacation. I’m miserable and it’s all because of this oil.

I’m seeing now that there are tons of reviews all over the internet where people are saying this have them a horrible rash. Even if I had seen them, I probably still would have purchased this, because I have used Sun Bum products in the past with no issue, and am not allergic to ANYthing.

So instead of enjoying my last day in paradise, I am in pain and so very itchy. Even the cream doesn’t really totally relieve it. I really feel like this product should be removed from shelves until something is figured out.

I will be telling every one of my friends to steer clear of this. I really wish I hadn’t used it, but it’s too late now and I’m stuck with this agonizing rash. Please do better.

I’m on a trip with my husband in the Dominican Republic and I’ve been using this oil since Monday. I am covered in an extremely itchy and burning rash, mostly on my arms and chest. I have never reacted like this to ANYthing, so my first thought wasn’t even to blame the oil.

I bought it for this trip so that I could get a nice tan; haven’t used it before. I’ve always tanned easily so the bumpy rash that developed scared me. I haven’t been in the sun like I used to in my younger days, and assumed that I’ve just become sensitive to the sun or that the sun down here is stronger or something.

Continued using this, but kept my arms out of the sun today. now I’m seeing it start to develop on my legs where I used it. I’ve been using aloe, taking an antihistamine and ibuprofen, not realizing I was just doing this to myself! Taking a shower now to wash it off, and I’ll be returning it and making sure others know that this rash is a possibility.

I have to reiterate that I DO NOT have sensitive skin and have never reacted like this to any other product. Very frustrated that I’m taking home a rash instead of a tan. :(.

I found this stuff on the ulta website and despite mixed reviews decided to give it a try. I took this stuff with me to South Padre in hopes of laying on the beach and getting a nice tan but this stuff did not work for me at all.

Mostly because I couldn’t get it to absorb into my skin. I followed the instructions, applied sunscreen first then after giving that a few minutes to dry I applied this lotion. It just made a mess all over my swimsuit and towel.

I thought maybe the sunscreen was preventing it from absorbing completely so I tried applying this before the sunscreen and still couldn’t get it to absorb. And it has a really bad smell. Smells like cocoa butter and chocolate.

I would have returned it but I ordered it online because there’s no ulta store near me and mailing it back is more hassle than it’s worth so I ended up throwing it away and buying some banana boat tanning oil.

we have been using this product for years, BUT the formula has been changed. what used to be absorbed into the skin immediately now lies on top and needs to be tissued off. Even the fantastic fragrance is gone.

I love Australian Gold, PERIOD! I was first introduced to AG when I was a teenager and went tanning in tanning beds. This was one of the products that truly broke through my “tanning plateau” I love using AG tanning lotions, with various SPF’s.

This 100% protected me from getting a sunburn and kept my skin moisturized. If you haven’t tried you need to. Its extremely affordable and rather easy to find.

Australian Gold will always be one of my favorite tanning lotions and SPF. Been using using for years. The smell is heavenly. It does enhance my tan, evenly, without a burn. I’m prone to burning and never worry with this.

I used to go to the tanning bed when I wasn’t laying out at home and one of the best of the best tanning oils you could use was the Australian Gold Dark Tanning Intensifier. It’s not too pricy. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone just starting out tanning or anyone with fair to light skin because you will burn extremely bad.

I do recommend it for someone with a light to medium tan. It works so good. It only takes a little while in the sun or tanning bed to turn dark.

This product works. Maybe not as well as some others. It is also kind of runny. I do like the smell of the lotion though. All in all it wasn’t a bad experience. The product is very affordable and is effective.

I would recommend. There are others I would be more likely to recommend.

This formula is terrible! while it has a pleasant smell, it is incredibly runny and greasy. I’m so glad I wasted my money on this …….

This lotion does not have a tint to it, but don’t let that fool you! It smells amazing and I was extremely dark in just a few tans! LOVE THIS LOTION! Also, I do not have that tanning smell after like I do with almost every other lotion.

Finally found a lotion that works doesn’t stain or streak gets you dark the first time and it does last more then one day going to keep using this lotion…..

Love the way it smells. Not greasy. No streaking. Plus it is indoor/ outdoor tanning lotion. I ran every day and it has lasted me for about a month.

I just tried this yesterday at the tanning salon I go to and thought it worked really well. Only $3.00 a packet at the salon but I want my own bottle now.

I am bummed on my purchase, it is not what it say it is by no means is this a dark tanning lotion. Dont be duped.

I was dubious about the great reviews I read about this lotion but decided to give it a try anyway. I started using this before the summer and I can’t believe the difference it makes. I would have naturally pale skin and it used to take forever for me to get even a base tan but with this lotion I can see the difference after the first session! It has no bronzer in it so at least you know all the tan is really yours lol and it leaves your skin really soft and smooth!.

I thought that this was a tanning lotion that was to be used outside to accelerate the tanning process, but this is an actual self tanner, and I usually do not like a self tanner. This one though, because of it’s thin consistency is easy to apply with no streaking and it is not at all orange! I am wearing a light yellow dress today and nothing transferred nor did it when I placed a light pink purse on it the first time I used it.

I will order this again.

I have used many creams on n off over the years and none have quite been as described for me. I wanted to use this before I wrote this review. It smells lovely, not strong and its a lovely light cream texture.

Goes on the skin nice, a little goes a long way and doesn’t leave a sticky feel. Iv used it twice now on 6 min sessions. I hadn’t been on the sunbed for 5 weeks due to illness and I only tend to go on once a week.

Others have said I look lovely and tanned even my legs. So its a thumbs up from me Super fast delivery too.

I absolutely love this sunbed lotion. It has quite a runny texture, but soaks into the skin beautifully, therefore you dont need as much as you would a cream, which means it lasts longer. It smells wonderful and my skins feel gorgeous after use.

I have also noticed that I dont feel sticky after application, so is perfect for use during a lunch break tanning session. No wonder this lotion has been going for so many years! I would definitely recommend this product.

Ive been going on the sun beds on and off for the past two month. I some times go 3 times a week or once a week. I dont tan very quickly but this cream works amazing. I exfoliate well before applying the cream.

Its always best to apply the cream just before going on the sun beds so that it hasnt sunk in. It smells like oranges too! See the attached pics for two month difference (please note your tan may differ to mine depending on how many sessions you go and for how long).

Great product, lovely fragrance, glides on my skin an feels silky smooth. My tan has been enhanced since I started using the lotion.

I’ve been using this product for years now, both in a tanning bed and a out tanning in the sun. Pro’s: It’s very effective, especially used in a tanning bed. Also cheap! Con’s: I found that if I use it on my face, I’ll break out, so I only use it on my body.

Also I’ll develop these small bumps on my back from this but they tend to go away after some time. My skin is pretty sensitive so I really just use it on my arms and legs.

This is the best tanning lotion ! It is not oily or greasy. It absorbs quickly. Does not stain tour clothes and gives a quick and great tan. I Will never use anything else. I have tried a lot of them but this one is the best and it doesn’t wash off either when taking a shower.

I discovered Australian Gold back in my tanning bed years and I loved it. I wouldn’t go without it. Now that tanning beds aren’t the thing to do I’ll have to try the self-tanner. Haven’t found one that is not Oompa Loompa orange.

This formula is the best outdoor tanning solution hands down! I immediately see a darker tan after 10 minutes of being in the sun. I only have to lay out for 30 minutes and I am bronzed to perfection 🙂 highly recommend this product if you don’t want to self tan but also don’t have a lot of time to lay out.

Price point is around 20 dollars which may seem steep but pretty good compared to Sun Bum products.
