20 Best Tape For Carpet (2022 Updated)

Used under a floor rug on top of carpet. Laid strips of shipping tape on the carpet first. Adhered floor rug with 2-sided tape attached, to the shipping tape laid on the carpet. Did it this way because the two-sided tape is extremely sticky, so if and when I need to move or change the floor rug, there will be no damage to the carpet.

This carpet tape is amazing. Instant hold for rugs on tile floors. I have not tried to remove yet, but works great for hold corners of the rug down.

This was the absolute WORST double sided tape I’ve come across. Unable to remove the blue backing to make double sided. It might as well be duck tape itself. It was like glue and never got a start to get the blue back or front or whatever you need to call it double sided tape.

Blue duck tape effectively – not double sided. Poorly made or poorly stored at the local store I bought it at. Expensive for what it was and is not. This product makes me believe that the quality of the duck brand has shot into the dumpster.

Double sided duck tape. Angry laugh at how long it took to not peel backing off and cannot hang a simple poster with double sided tape! Super sad the state of prices increases while quality decreased horribly!.

this works or I did something right in installation following instructions. Would have rated 5 but want to wait much longer to see how it holds up. I placed the tape on porch areas to hold down rugs regular runner, piece of area rug, and pieces of grass looking rug carper pieces.

It is very sticky I think taking my time to clean porch with soap bottle mix with water and rubbing with towels allowing drying time. Taking the time out and sitting closer to the floor of the porch.

I started out late (procrastinating putting off) got some of the rug pieces applied with this tape. Im in the mid west it is cold so what didnt get done may not until warmer weather. I was happy withthe results and again yes this is sticky, dont get in a hurry and make sure area is cleaned and dried, etcetera.

The Duck double sided Duck Tape has worked perfectly for all of my needs. While strong, the tape is thin so when attaching items it’s not apparent that the tape is in place. For example, one of our feline family members discovered that he could pull off the vented access panel to the jetted tub – and crawl inside.

I needed to put an end to that adventure & pulled out this trusty tape. It worked like a charm – he can no longer get inside, the panel rests flush on the tile, and with a little effort I can still remove the panel if needed.

The tape easily comes off the roll & the protector being blue makes it easy to see when separating it from the double sided tape. The blue sheet peels off cleanly & easily making it a snap to use. Scissors easily cut the tape to the desired length and it’s easy to find the edge on subsequent uses.

Works great. I have an area rug that slips and slides on the floor. I put tape just around the edges and NO movement. It’s so much better – wish I bought it sooner. We are moving and we’ve taken the carpet up and pulled the tape off and it came off easily and didn’t damage the flooring.

Held down low pile carpet samples onto hard wood and ceramic. It hasn’t moved so far. 1 month. Easy to use

Suited my purpose with my carpet squares. Firm hold and squares can be removed if really needed

I used this for vinyl baseboards. I had initially tried baseboard glue (maybe works on thicker vinyl but w/ absolutely no tack, I found it impossible to use) but this was MUCH easier and held way better.

When first applied it could sometimes be tough to get the baseboards to stick flush in some places (areas w/ bumps, old glue, holes), but miraculously when left alone for a few hours it seemed to tighten the adhesion and pull the baseboards evenly against the wall.

Definitely recommend for this application.

I used this tape to stick vinyl plank flooring on top of a porcelain tile floor. I didn’t want to use a glue product. It was installed 8 months ago and there has been NO lifting or release of the vinyl.

Based on my experience I recommend it.

Good for garage flooring, I use it with G-Floor, perfrct match, easy to use and the mat won’t move after installation!

Like you on sick of marketing hype and trying to understand if this product will really do what you want it to. Well believe me this will do it and more!!! Car mats never move, rugs never move and pictures never move.

Its brilliant. Just dont try and cut it with scissors as it will jam up. Use a craft knife. A roll of this will last you years. I promise no affiliations- just a rocking product.

This was easy to use and seemed to do a great job on the first day. By the second my carpet underneath had started creeping away from the walls ? On lifting the top carpet I found the double sided rape gad melted on to the carpet underneath (hence the 3 star rating).

Admittedly the carpets are in a sun spot but I expected more from this product. The small rug I stuck down in the porch is looking good, but I am afraid to look underneath in case I have sticky yellow goo which was very difficult to remove from my already mentioned creeping carpet.

Terrible tape which strips the varnish off floorboards when you remove it. So upset! Should not be sold!

The backing on the double-stick tape is too thin and tears too easily. Makes installation extremely tedious. Would give a zero star rating if I could.

Holds carpet in place like it was nailed down. Put on my bathroom throw and it holds it in place wonderfully. Just put some on each corner of the carpet and it works great. I have a large throw and it is not really made for the bathroom.

Actually I’m using it to keep my front seat car mats down; they tend to move around, which is very annoying. So far it works great; I’ll definitely keep using it.

The first batch used lasted five years and still worked fine but was getting dirty so we reordered. Excellent product.

I was happy to find your company online and your tape works better than any I have tried. Most of the tape is only 1-1/2″ wide which just doesn’t do the job when you are attaching rugs to carpeting.

We have tried all kinds of tape to hold the carpet inplace and this one has been the BEST we have tried doublesidedfelt and all kind of different tapes.

Works great for its intended purpose of holding carpet runners and Matt’s in place, works equally as well for projects that require double sided tape. Loses its stickiness after while buts thats after many removal/ resticks.

Comes off fairly easy when it needs to also. I will be re-buying more of these.

Horrible Product. Purchased for my office to hold an area rug in place and does not stick to the bottom of the area rug which causes it to move when you walk across it. Very disappointed. May work better in linoleum or hard wood but definitely not carpet to carpet therefore it does not “hold rugs in place on all floor surfaces”.

Best tape ever! Great staying power. It is a little hard to cut, because of the stickiness of the glue but alcohol cleans the blades and no damage to the scissors. Hold my carpets down, so more sliding and turned up ends.

Easy to use and fastens really well to the rug.

This stuff is strong! Since I am not very handy – it’s either fix it with a duct tape or forget about it. I love this Double Sided Duck Tape! You can literally stick anything to anything with this duck tape.

The quality is great, it is fairly easy to work with, great adhesion, lots of tape on a roll and it does not leave any sticky residue on the surface. I’ve used it for several projects around the house.

I’ve fixed my door mat to the floor because my iRobot always gets stuck on the mat edges. You know what, the mat looks permanent now – it does not move at all. I also used this Double Sided Duck Tape to hang picture frames in my living room.

I am so happy I did not have to put holes in my walls – these guys aren’t going anywhere now. I taped the plant stand down without ruining my floors and taped the plants down so that my dogs do not make mess around the house anymore.

This is a experience. I’m still trying to figure out how to work this tape. I wanted it for my kitchen rug where I stand to do my dishes. But the heavy foot traffic didn’t help when my 6 year wants to rip everything out of his playing zone which I forgot kitchen is.

Other than that I don’t have another rug at the moment. But the tape lasted in place for about 3 days. But my son kept pulling and yanking and tape came off. I did had to use tape remover on my floor because it was sticky.

And it came out nicely. So I would say this works if you don’t have a child that wants to destroy everything.

I used this tape to fasten rubber stair nosing on to my basement steps. I have an older dog who loves to spend time with me in our recroom but had become intimidated to use the steps because of the slippery vinyl covering that wason them.

I attached the new rubber coverings using the carpet tape and it has worked out great without a lot of effort ! Ive also used it to keep rugs in place.

The tape you sent was fine. However, I wanted double-sided tape! I’ve spent 15 to 20 minutes trying to peel what appears to be the backing (??) off. I felt silly until I realized it was one-sided tape.

If you have a runner or other rug that you need to stay in place on top of another rug, well, this is the tape to use. Fantastic, very sticky, and now my runner is staying put. Also used it on another rug which is on top of linoleum.

Strong, easy to use – just what I needed to stop a pesky small carpet from slipping on a vinyl floor. The edges kept curling up too so that the door wouldn’t open over it. Now, however, those annoying curled up edges are stuck down and the carpet looks neat and flat.

It’s good to buy a ‘sticky’ product that actually is sticky. I used this for a rug in the hall that’s secured to a wooden floor underneath, along with using it to secure the stair carpet in place. Nothing’s budged an inch since being stuck with this tape.

Excellent product at most acceptable price. Do be careful when handling/cutting though so it will stick to anything – including itself and yourself!!!! FAR superior to other makes I have tried in the past and adheres much much better.

Polyken 100D – absolutely the best double sided tape we’ve found, won’t use anything else. It’s a key component to our manufacturing process and it never fails to perform!

I misunderstood the name of the item, apparently I needed carpet binding tape instead. I used this product anyway. no time to get replacement, and found it worked adequately by leaving the backing in place.

Removal 24 hours later was easy.

The best you will find. Carpet on carpet tape – read the directions! Excellent product when used right. If you chose not, hammer and nails or carpet clue is the next option. Last for many years!

I love this carpet tape, as I have a huge area rug in the living room, and just taped down the corners…. 2 runners in the hallway. you do not need a lot just a little square we’ll do it.

This carpet tape has held my mat in place for two weeks so far without moving. That’s something the previous tape wouldn’t do for more than a day. I would definitely recommend it.

I stuck carpet to carpet with this tape weeks ago and the top rug has not moved at all and its ina place where there is a lot of tread excellent

This double sided tape was purchased to stick down heavy duty carpet tiles, the tape is super sticky and has made them stop moving but as the tiles are old and have been loose for a while it hasnt stuck the edges down.

So its a great product if you have new carpet tiles or if you want to stick a rug down and Ide even go as far to say it would probably stick down Lino/wood but not so great if youre trying to repair older curled up edges of carpet tiles.
