20 Best Tape For Concrete (2022 Updated)

I was a little skeptical about this product just because it seemed like a “too good to be true” product. A piece of tape to be able to stop water leaks, just seemed too easy. Upon receiving it I tested it with 3 different tasks.

First task: solve a leak at an inside water disconnect valve. I cut off a piece of tape, carefully wrapped it around where the leak was and made sure that the joint was dry before applying(more so out of habit, not thinking about the fact that the product would adhere fine with moisture).

I then attempted to recreate the leak by completely closing and opening the disconnect valve, and even after a few minutes the product was keeping it dry. Next up was an extension water nozzle for watering tops of trees.

I had previously used a liquid glue product to secure an adapter for the sprayer type I needed and after a few minutes use it had instantly sprung a leak. Repeating the same steps as above I applied the product, but this time it wasn’t as successful.

It certainly slowed down the leak but it didn’t completely contain it, even after attempting multiple wraps around the area. To be fair, the water going through this area is under a decent amount of pressure, so I just don’t think the product was able to stand up to that amount of pressure it was producing.

The final test, was to mimic the ads I saw on TV. I had a 5 gallon buck I use for project around the house with a small hole in it. I filled it up to the brim, and left a hose running in it so it would constantly be refilling any water that leaked out of the hole.

I then applied a piece of tape inside of the bucket in the water, and gave it a good rubbing to make sure it was locked into place. Sure enough, it stopped the water leaking. I left the bucket over night filled with water and even the next day it was still holding the water just fine.

I had even set the bucket on some tissue paper to make it more obvious if a leak had occurred and I couldn’t find any hints of water. Overall, a very nice product, as long as you aren’t using it in an application this is more than moderate pressure.

Definitely a great thing to keep around the house for any homeowner. Camera with photos of the uses accidentally formatted over the photos, so sadly I have no good photos to share of the places I used it.

A few months ago we redid the shower surround in our bathroom. What happens is you have three parts and you apply them to the three walls around the bath/shower. You apply it with adhesive of some sort.

Well now a few months later where these sheets/walls meet together with each other, they are peeling. We’ve tried everything trying to get them to sit together properly/seal so water doesnt get behind the wall – but haven’t had any luck.

I came across this Flex Tape and wanted to try this as a last resort – couldn’t hurt anything. I have to say that using it was a trick. It’s very sticky and it’s a learning process on finding out the best way to apply it in strips where I needed it.

I figured out a great way to do it. I cut the tape before removing the plastic film and I also would apply the strips I cut while also peeling back the tape slowly. This made it so it doesn’t stick anywhere but where I need to apply it too.

This process made it so much easier and so much quicker. Now that I have applied it and it’s been over 5 days, I have to say that it works so well. The walls are laid down at the edges together, they are sealed perfectly, no more peeling at the wall, it’s all laid down properly, and now I we don’t have to worry about water damage behind my wall.

This has been such a great thing for us. If it wasn’t for this flex tape, we would have ended up having to remove the outer shower walls and replacing with brand new and that wasn’t in the budget right now.

This works flawlessly, it is a little tricky getting it figured out how to use it properly without making everything sticky/making a mess – but once you do that it’s awesome.

Flex Tape is a great product for making quick repairs to a leaking window, gutter, broken water hose or any other fixture at home, in the RV or anywhere else! It has a very powerful adhesive that bonds tightly to seal out rain, cold air, water, etc without the hassles of mixing adhesives or handling caulk.

This product can be applied in all weather conditions and provides sufficient repairs to any surface until more permanent repairs can be made. Flex Tape is an economical solution that all homeowners should keep for that u foreseen emergency.

It’s easy to use and does not require skills as a do-it-yourselfer to use. Highly recommended!!.

This 8” wide super strong Flex Tape works great. I have used this product for a while now in black and the white tape works just as good. It is a 5’ roll which lasts a long time. I use it for home repairs, camping etc.

This product almost instantly stops leaks and it holds pretty good too. It even works underwater for pool liner repairs. I have also used the spray version in the black color to touch up seams on a rubber roof.

All in all this product works well and I will continue to use it. I will also tell my friends about it. Thanks.

I greatly disliked this product, because even though the rubberized tape was very sticky after the backing was removed, it didn’t stick all that well onto the shingles of my roof. After reading on the package how this product is waterproof, even under water, I expected it to stick as good as scotchtape on a wrapped gift.

I believe that the roughly $80. 00 I paid for it was way overpriced. Even if it worked like the package said it would, it should not have been priced over maybe $35. 00 or $40. 00. I definitely don’t recommend anyone else buy it.

I wasted $80. 00 of my hard-earned cash!.

Flex tape seems to hold up well when not under too much pressure. I tried fixing a hole in my hose, followed the instructions, and let it cure overnight. It still leaked after a few minutes of the hose being turned on.

I didn’t give up though, and decided to try it on a PVC pipe under my kitchen sink. My house is older and the plumbing has become sort of a mixed bag. There seems to be on area under the kitchen sink where the pipes just don’t want to join together as they should.

I finally gave up and just put a bucket under there that I empty periodically to catch the small amount of water that leaks through. For that application, flex tape worked like a champ and stopped me from having to worry about this continual leak under my sink.

I have been checking the bucket and it is dry as a bone. So, I think there are definitely applications that flex tape works well, as long as there isn’t a huge amount of pressure. I also had a loose piece on my car bumper and wheel well that I had secured with a screw, but was still worried it would come loose.

I was able to use the black flex tape to help secure the wheel well cover to the inner bumper without it being noticeable. I like the security of knowing it’s there, keeping the wheel well cover in place and preventing anything from entering that area.

Overall, I would recommend flex tape, as long as you have reasonable expectations. It is very, very sticky, so I wouldn’t peel the backing off completely. I would peel it off a little at a time as you stick it to whatever surface you are sticking it to to prevent it from sticking to itself and essentially wasting it.

It is a decent product that works well for the correct applications.

I have been searching for a do-it-yourself repair solution for our large hard plastic pond liner with a long crack, as you can see in the photos, one that was environmentally friendly so that I could continue to use it as a garden pond.

Flex Tape is the perfect choice. After washing the liner and letting it dry completely, I cut a long strip of the 4 inch wide Flex Tape, rounded the corners of the strip with kitchen shears, and carefully peeled off the protective backing.

I was surprised at how thick yet flexible the Flex Tape is. I was able to carefully place one long edge on the outside of the liner and then slowly work the tape into and onto the plastic molded-bubble bottom outside the crack and then slowly ease and smooth it across the crack and up the side of the liner.

A second strip was laid down on top of the first strip, starting a little further in toward the side, and it too was easy to place precisely where I wanted it. I placed a spare paving stone on top of the crack inside the liner to weigh it down, bringing the two sides of the crack in contact with each other and with the Flex Tape.

When using this Flex Tape, be sure you start it carefully right where you want it, making sure there are no wrinkles or bubbles as you continue to lay it down and smooth it in place as it seals tightly as soon as it is down, and you cannot lift it again to reposition it.

The next day I cut another strip of the Flex Tape, rounded the corners, and sealed the crack again from the inside of the liner. The final step was to add water and let the liner sit overnight on the back deck.

There was no leakage at all. From personal experience, I highly recommend Flex Tape as a truly versatile product whenever you need a watertight seal.

I got an opportunity to try the FLEXTAPE Clear, Large 4” X 5’ and have to say that it is an ok product. The Flex Tape is described as being a super strong, rubberized, waterproof tape that can patch, bond seal and repairs virtually everything.

It is specially formulated with a thick flexible, rubberized backing that conforms to any shape or object. This is great but it makes it kind of hard to take off roll and cut it is very sticky. I used it in my bathroom and had a very hard time cutting and getting it off because if you are not careful it will stick to itself.

Other than that this is a great tape versus other tapes and it comes in a variety of colors such as clear which is what I got and it also comes in white and black. I do wish that it was a little more on the roll but it did get the job completed that I needed it for.

This tape would surely be good for window time if you wanted to put around your window or doors if you have any kind of air coming in which this would help keep heat in and air out. This tape says it can be applied hot, cold, wet or dry even underwater but not too sure about that.

It is suppose to instantly seal out water, air and moisture to create a super strong flexible, watertight barrier. FLEX Tape is UV resistant, environmentally friendly, VOC- free and has a wide range of temperatures so it can be used in extreme weather conditions.

I must say it does bond like glue and if it happens to gain strength overtime it would be perfect. The only con like I stated is that it is not enough on roll. I suggest using a very sharp pair of scissors or box cutter to cut product but this makes sense because it is very strong.

I recommend giving this tape a try and see if you like it and it has a variety of uses but it is very very sticky. Absolutely I say gives this tape a try.

Had to do some emergency surgery on the driver’s side mirror on my mom’s car. No idea why though as I think she doesn’t use any mirrors anyway – she’s more of a drive by feel person. She makes a lot of friends by accident that way.

I first threw in a bunch of Gorilla glue in the separation and thought to add the clear Gorilla tape as I thought the glue might get lonely. I hear a barrel of monkeys is a lot of fun so having a couple of Gorillas to hang around with my mom would also be a blast.

The tape went on really well. And that’s were the problem started. I showed it to my mom who thought that I didn’t put anything on it. She called me lazy and then demanded that I clean up the basement.

I second guessed it as well as it was so clear I thought the tape got in a fight with the glue and left the party. Upon closer inspection, I could still see it hanging in there although the glue was nowhere to be found.

My mom still made me clean up the basement though.

Works great on my awning. I had purchased a similar looking product on line that is supposed to be specific for repairing awnings. It seemed to work the 1st week but then after about 20 minutes of rain and the sun coming out it started to come unglued and lifting everywhere.

A friend of mine told me to try this Gorilla product and so far it has worked perfectly. It is also 25% of the cost of the product I purchased online. Fortunately the seller came through and gave me a full refund.

When you look at this ‘tape’ it looks quite thick, once you have fixed it to one surface and removed the backing tape, it looks like a very thin layer of silicone. I used it to stick 2 plastic units to car plastics.

At first it seemed to hold tight and some of the ‘gel’ substance squeezed out as it moulded itself to the slight convexed surface shape of one unit, whilst the other was a flat surface. Both units had flat surfaces.

All seemed great and it says it takes 48 hours to ‘set’. Having left and checked it every 24 hours, all seemed good, then a week later both units fell off. One was exposed to normal daylight, the other is in the boot.

Both taped surfaces were still very sticky, so I pushed them back on and they seemed to stick. Sure enough a week later, both had fallen off again. Gave it a further week and they seemed to have stayed put, albeit not confident on for how long.

Been 2 weeks since I last checked them, seem to be okay. I used very slim slithers of this tape to fix a new screen digitizer to a friends phone. It has been 4 weeks now since I made the repair and all seems well.

It helped that the ‘gel’ is transparent to a degree. It is reasonably easy to cut providing you use very sharp scissors and don’t get frustrated too easily. I found using a cutting board to make the shape using a crafting knife worked okay.

I purchased Gorilla Tape for fixing some small holes in our camper awning after seeing a u tube video. Now, I will never be without it again. I will keep a roll in my house and another in my camper. This stuff is amazing.

It sticks to almost anything and is super sticky. When it sticks it really sticks. Like I said we used it to cover some small holes in our camper awning. We applied it to the top and we have had some very heavy rains since and it is still there.

I totally recommend this product.

Wow! I for some reason am always using lots of packing tape/ clear tape in my house. I use it for packaging to quick fixes and crafty stuff and beyond. I have purchased tons of tape over the years and let me say this, this tape is everything and the Only tape you will ever need to purchase again.

I was super impressed with the quality. The sticking power is amazing and you will not need to use a ton. It will get the job done efficiently and it will stick. I can’t say enough good about it. Don’t hesitate to purchase it, you’ll never use anything else again.

I used this tape to repair book bindings on my daughter’s books. VERY sticky, so a little tricky to use. However, it worked beautifully. The edges don’t peel up & it is very sturdy. Very handy to have around the house.

My grandkids somehow got a hole in their vinyl inflatable pool. So I went in search of a waterproof tape to make the repair. When I found Duck made a waterproofing tape, I figured it would be ideal. Though it says on the packaging “Applies to wet surfaces” it does not! It barely sticks to the vinyl and the edges constantly came loose.

The packaging gave no indication as to what surfaces were not appropriate for using this tape. Additionally, I couldn’t tell through the outer wrap that the tape was not going to be flexible and stretchy.

It was also expensive, hopefully I can find some other use for it, so I won’t feel it was a total waste of money.

The Duck Brand makes useful products. This tape isn’t a miracle worker but fixes small issues. Make sure you clean the area well before applying the tape. The stuff is super sticky and will leave a residue behind, so do it right the first time and reinforce on both sides if needed.

It’s not the most flexible tape but I was able to use it on a leaky window and a leaky hose faucet outside. The tape works, but won’t fix every problem you have because it’s not as flexible and will only patch small issues.

It really comes down to trial and error.

This tape works very well to waterproof things. We recently used it to seal up my daughter’s apartment windows that leak air and water terribly. It sticks really well and no wind or rain can get past it.

It’s hard to find tape that will work well to waterproof AND have strong adhesive so it won’t peel off. This stuff works like a charm! I’ve used it outdoors and indoors multiple times and each time I have been really impressed with how well it holds up to water and wind.

This is your tape if you need something strong that truly is waterproof.

Durable and super sticky. The adhesive is super aggressive and bonds to most things. The tape seems to be pressure sensitive, I repositioned it a few times before locking it into place. The tape is thick and can adhere to an unsmooth surface.

I was surprised by this product because I assumed that “flexible” meant stretchy, that is not the case. The backing material is flexible meaning it can bend to conform to a surface but it will not stretch if pulled with moderate force.

That makes this tape unique and it is more durable than other products on the market (ex. window flashing which are not UV resistant. ) Stretchy materials support a different function than this tape was intended for.

The manufacturer also added features that increase the durability of this product with direct exposure to the elements. I was able to span unsupported holes and the product worked wonderfully. The tape material was firm and resisted poking/prodding without leaking.

I also did a repair to the portable basketball hoop’s counterweight base that we punctured during assembly. With the clear backing, I was able to visually confirm that the patch conformed to the irregular shape and pressed out all of the visible air bubbles for complete adhesion.

I added a second larger patch as a wearing surface for additional protection. The hoop is regularly moved and the repair is watertight, as expected. I’m looking forward to seeing how the repair holds up over the winter.

The chance to review this product couldn’t have come at a better time. A few months back, I opened my “glassware” cabinet and a circular cut crystal vase that belonged to my Mother, hit the floor. I didn’t see any damage so back in the cabinet it went.

Well. my wonderful husband bought me a “for no reason” (lol) bouquet of mixed flowers yesterday. I went right to this vase, filled it with water and put the flowers in. Yep, a steady stream of water was slowly dripping from the side of the vase.

I found that there was a hairline crack in the middle of one of the circular cut glass edges that was about an inch long. I hate those liquid glues that always make everything look messy and “fixed” so out came the Flex Tape.

This is a waterproof tape that feels kind of stretchy or rubbery. I had the clear variety so this was perfect. I cut a piece to cover the damaged part of the vase then put water in the vase to test it out.

Sure enough, NO LEAK!! In seconds, I had repaired a 50 year old vase with such an easy product to use. Because it was clear, unless you knew the damage was there, you wouldn’t see the tape, AND, I did it myself with no sticky glue mess.

I was thrilled that it worked so easily and quickly. The Flex Tape can be used on wet or dry objects and even underwater. (The pool liner). I highly recommend this product to everyone who wants a permanent repair for their projects.

Previous to more recently, I have always been happy with Flex Seal Products and have used them for a very long time – but, in my recent order of two rolls of tape and some previous flex seal products I have purchased; I have been quite disappointed in ther quality and usability.

The two rolls of tape I purchased, one was fine – but the other was a sticky mess to say the least. It was almost as if it didn’t have the protective seal that you peal off, as it was all stuck together, all the way through the roll.

Just previous to that encounter, I had purchased the liquid rubber and it had chunks in it, like it was dried rubber. We could not separate it enough to use more than a small portion. Not sure what’s going on with Flex Seal Quality but, its far lacking.

Sorry for the negative but, when you’ve bee nhappy with a product for a long time and then you encounter this. It makes for an unhappy customer.

I really love that you can get this product in such a long wide piece. It worked really well when I put a small piece toward the bottom of my pool. I did find out not to use any glue with it as it doesn’t stick as well when you do that.

So, use it alone. It doesn’t work as well above the water line, for some reason it seems to peel away over time. Might be the sun on it when it is on pool liner material? Not sure. I was disappointed when I could not find it in white like I had before but used the gray and that was okay.

This last time there was a piece about 6″ long where it did not have the backing to peel off. Therefore, that piece was no good. Other than that, I really like the flex seal, it works very well.

I bought this several months ago to patch some holes in the roof of my car (well, the white, not the clear, but same stuff and I can’t find the white to review). It’s a former cop car and they’d drilled holes for various equipment.

The holes had special plugs in them, but one fell out. This stuff has handled -40C like a champ and saved me from having to go to a bodyshop for actual patches. Stopped the cracks in my fender (that’s what you get when you buy used cars with new bumper stickers) from spreading.

Seriously considering covering all the other plugs once the weather gets nicer in case they fall out too. I love this stuff. Thank you!.

Well, so far so good anywayNeeded to do some guttering repairs as somehow a piece of gutter had snapped in two leaving a 1cm gap between the two bits. Tape arrived late afternoon. Was going to have a go with it the next day but heavy rain was forecast overnight so I had to get out and get the job done before that.

Pretty dark, up a ladder wrestling with blunt scissors. I cut several strips of tape, stuck them in various places and hoped for the bestNext day, it was chucking it down with rain as it had been most of the night.

No leaking at all from the gutter In the daylight, my patch job looked a bit of a mess but it had done the job. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts for as I need to get the length replaced properly at some point but very impressed with the tapes performance so far.

If it does start to fail then Ill have another go in daylight as Im sure I could do a much better job if I can see what Im doing. But, as it stands, very happy with this magical stuff.

Some people have had issue with rolls that have no tack. These are defective rolls and should be returned and replaced. Tip: check the end of the roll to see if it’s tacky. If not, hand it to a member of staff and explain why.

Find one that is sticky. I had 1 roll in about 20 that have been faulty. And my first weatherproof one took some real work (warming it up worked) to get it to stick as advertised. These are the best I’ve found.

Okay so reason for the bad review. This product is absolutely the worse product. It is waaaaaaaay over rated for it’s “wonderful performance. ” People have used this bad product to seal roofs on RV’s, trailers, etc.

Once this product is on a surface it is almost impossible to remove it. And if you are planning on doing this as a temporary fix on anything and remove it or put a sealer over it to do a more permanent job down the road it won’t work.

Nothing will stick to it once it is applied. We do RV repairs and if this stuff is applied to a roof or anything else we won’t even take on the job. It is really that bad. So buyer beware!!!.

Ive never used waterproof or rubberized tape before, so that probably contributed to my surprise once opening this product up to use. It is unlike any tape I have used and completely different than I expected.

I am impressed with how unique it is! I Included some photos of the tape; the roll itself along with photos of the inner sticky side of the tape and how much comes on a roll. The tape is very smooth on the outside, unlike other tapes and closer in my opinion to the texture of inflatable plastic pool toys.

The inside of the tape is completely different and is covered in a decently thick layer of a gooey glue type substance. It doesn’t leave residue if you remove the tape after a short period of time, but I am positive it will leave a lot of you remove it later.

Because of the unique materials used to create this tape and the width of it, it does work really well to fix things that are wet or hold water. However, I would not use it for small projects. Cutting into this tape causes the scissors to get a little gunked up, and considering most people don’t have a ton of scissors laying around I don’t recommend it.

If something has a hole in it, I would suggest using a larger piece anyways to prevent the water from easily separating the tape from the surface. A couple things to note, I’m not very confident in this product holding in the heat.

This type of glue gets thinner and more gooey when it is hot so I would take that into consideration for projects. Also I think heat would cause the residue left over to be much more significant. I would use this on something you don’t plan on removing the tape later.

Overall I think this is a very cool, unique, and useful product. It isn’t something you will use for a lot of items that need fixed but it is such a unique product that when you can use it there won’t be many other options out there.

This is actually a perk because a roll can last you a decent amount of time! Great job Flex Tape!.
