20 Best Tape For Skin (2022 Updated)

I bought this product to use as anti snoring tape on mouth after it was recommended. I was using the 3m nexcare cloth tape before. The cloth tape sticks better and lasts all night but not true for this tape.

Most people are not buying the product for this use, so likely not designed fory application.

Band-aids with extended use for large wounds can make my skin even worse. I think I’m allergic to the adhesive. This tape is a GAME CHANGER. I’ve used it to cover a burn on my stomach and most recently an weirdly placed road rash on my arm.

It’s just the right amount of stick and comfort without breaking out my skin.

Great tape for sensitive skin. Adheres well but comes away without damaging skin. Very difficult to purchase at regular chemists. Online purchase easy in comparison and parcel turned up within a few business days.

The absolute best adhesive bandage for my foot injury. I cut the sole of my foot on something and the injury wasn’t a candidate for stitches. It was in a really awful/awkward spot so normal bandaids, Tegaderm, and even gauze wrapping just wouldn’t quite stay where they needed to.

Then I tried the Nexcare Absolute Waterproof 3M tape. let me tell you. one swatch of this over a simple gauze square, on the bottom of my foot, in the middle of summer, and I didn’t have a single problem keeping the site protected but still breathable.

AND the thickness of it provided enough cushion to reduce discomfort at the injured site. Will definitley stock up to keep on hand for any future injuries. Also, bonus, it is NOT painful to remove.

Does it work as a decent bandaid? Yes. It holds up well. Sticks without falling. I bought this for blister prevention with new shoes. The tape is thick but not too thick. Oddly I still felt the burning of the friction.

So if you’re looking to prevent blisters. This isn’t it.

I don’t know where to start, ’cause this stuff’s truly amazing! It stretches and stretches for a nice, snug fit. It tears easily. The adhesive is very, very strong and couldn’t care less if it gets wet.

I have eczema on the palm of my left hand. Keeping an ointment on it for very long is quite difficult, if not impossible with normal medical tape. It invariable comes loose, causing the gauze I use to cover the affected area to release.

But, now that I use this almost magical Nexcare tape, that issue is history. It sticks to the skin without releasing through all kinds of motion and stress because it flexes with you! It’ll stick to itself or to skin with a vengeance, yet it releases more easily than you’d think when it’s time to change the bandage.

OK. Now for something extra. I needed to tape together large diameter silicone tubing to smaller diameter tubing to make a drain hose for water, long enough for a project of mine. Electrical tape just wasn’t doing the job.

Then, I thought about Nexcare tape. Holy Toledo! It perfectly attached them together, and it was leak-tight! Though I haven’t tried it yet, I think it might even make an excellent non-slip grip tape for some tool handles of mine.

I’ll be trying that next! Like I said, this stuff’s amazing!!.

We use Steri-Strips often and in general think they’re terrific. They’re best used for narrow cuts. My blind husband walks into walls and splits his forehead open every couple of months. I clean him up with hydrogen peroxide and apply however many 1/4″ Steri-Strips are appropriate.

They stay on for many days even though he washes his hair every day. I tend to get cuts on my fingers from the dry weather. Although I’d love to use Steri-Strips on them, the Steri-Strips peel off within a day or less because I wash my hands quite often.

Sometimes I can get them to stay on longer if I cover them with a BandAid which holds the ends of the Steri-Strip to my finger while the Steri-Strip is actually holding the cut closed. Overall, I highly recommend Steri-Strips for anywhere on the body except fingers.

I had a minor surgery three weeks ago to release my trigger. It required around 3/4 of an inch incision on my palm. The doctor closed the incision with 2 stitches and were removed after two weeks. However, the day after the stitches were removed, the incision separated resulting to a gap.

Instead of going back to the doctor, my niece (who’s also a physician) recommended Steri-Strip Skin Closure to close the incision without the need for re-stitching. After a week of using it, I saw that the incision is now closed.

However, I decided to use the strip for another week to make sure that it won’t open again. Now, because of the Steri-Strip, the scar on my palm is not very visible! Thanks!.

I recently had surgical incision stitches removed (16) and the dermatologist applied 12 strips (1/4″ x 1″) after first applying an adhesive solution around edges. I was told they would fall off after 2 weeks.

Didn’t make it home before most had come loose. I purchased a 30 piece package of 1/4″ x 4″ strips. I first tried replacing them with 1″ pieces, then 2″ pieces and now am using the full 4″ piece. They continue to come loose.

The package retail price tag has a date of 070519. The lot/expiry date on the envelope is 2024-01BC. I will try “Additional closures. 1/2 inch from. ends and parallel to the wound. ” as detailed in step 6.

Pro: it is gentle on my skin, it stayed on (abdominal and back dressings) 24 hours plus Con: it is pricey, it doesn’t tear, other tape cannot adhere to it, not much on a one inch wide roll. To explain: I had my husband get this for my post-op dressing changes, mostly because of our great experiences with Nexcare brand.

I was at home and he was describing tapes to me over the phone. He said it was expensive, but I just thought it was higher than most. No, it IS expensive! Now that it has run out (after four dressing changes) I will find another kind of tape.

We had to go over the dressing with a different (micropore) tape to secure it, but that tape didn’t adhere to the Nexcare. This one I do not recommend, especially if you need a lot of tape for larger areas.

I first tried this product as a free sample in exchange for my honest review and I’m honestly honored that I got the chance to do so because this tape is AMAZING! I unfortunately have very delicate skin and have a hard time finding first aid products that won’t give my skin a rash or anything if that sort.

I’ve tried other tapes that said it was for sensitive skin but sadly it wasn’t. This tape on the other hand is true to its word. It was as if it was never there. The removing process was a breeze as well because it didn’t leave any sticky residue behind nor did it feel uncomfortable when it was on.

It really does help protect my small injuries while they heal as well. I loved this tape so much that I went out and couple a couple more to add to my first aid kits throughout my home and car. I recommend this to anyone out there with sensitive skin or anyone in general that wants the extra delicate care for their small wounds.

This tape is amazing!! If you have sensitive skin like me, this skin friendly tape is for you!! I do Dialysis 3xper week and I go through a lot of tape to secure the needles in my arm. But this tape is so gentle, will not blister your skin, is so easy to tear, repositionable, and when they remove my needles you can reuse the same tape saving you money!! It will not tear the your gentle skin especially in the elderly.

I give it 10 stars and I highly recommend it to anyone everyone with or without sensitive skin!!! You will not regret buying it and it comes in multiple sizes to fit your needs!!! I LOVE THIS TAPE ❤️!!.

I have sleep apnea and use this tape to tape my mouth shut so the forced air from my CPAP machine will go to my lungs instead of blowing out of my mouth while I am asleep. Other tapes are way too harsh.

This is the only tape I have found that will not tear at my skin, esp. around the mouth where it is tender. I use it every night. It tears easily with fingers too but is nice and thick. Highly recommend to anyone who has to use tape over and over.

Gentle enough for kids too.

Living temporarily with a foley catheter as a gastric drainage tool. This is a great tool for stabilizing the catheter for comfort and it also provides a deterrent from pulling the tube out accidentally.

Have applied my 4th one (they recommend changing once a week). No issues with the adhesive holding it in place and so far no skin irritation. Lifesaver for me!.

Tried purchasing silicone scar removing tape and I received this tiny roll of surgical tape in a huge box. Check details closely. Wasted time in having to re-order correct product through Amazon.

I have very sensitive skin and in the past I have had problems with tape on my skin. This is easy to remove and stays in place. Very easy to work with. Doesn’t leave a rash or tears the skin.

This stuff is great. I was using paper tape on my baby, but it comes off so easily. Regular surgical tape irritated her skin greatly. This is the perfect combination of sticky yet gentle. Also, it is able to be repositioned.

Expensive, but I highly recommend if taping up someone with sensitive skin like little children.

Definitely very gentle on the skin, but this necessarily comes with the tradeoff of being a weak adhesive. The adhesive seems to be the same or very similar to sticky tab or post-it note adhesive, only maybe about twice as good at bonding to skin.

That’s still not very strong. if there is evena small constant force on the tape, the adhesive will slowly creep until the force is relieved The tape backing itself is not very pliable, so being slightly stiff and having a weak adhesive means it could spontaneously peel with a little movement.

However, this could be the perfect product for someone with very thin or irritated skin that needed taping every day or more often. Most other tapes, even so-called “gentle” tapes are much too strong for those purposes.

Following scalp surgery, my dermatologist offered paper tape for sale. I thought I could buy the “tan” tape at my local drug store. Not so. I checked at least 5 drug stores without success. They offered “white” tape only and I was also advised that their distributor did not offer “tan” tape for sale.

I checke with a local medical supply company, and while they said they could order “tan” tape, I would have to wait 3 days for their regular order day, and then additional time for shipment. I saw Vitality Medical on the internet, placed an order and even though I chose routine shipping to save cost, I received the shipment the very next day.

I processed my order about 1:00 p. m. and UPS delivered at 12 noon the next day. I like the tape a lot, but the service offered by Vitality Medical was superb. Thank you.

Needed more of the paper tape that the dr. ofc. gave my husband after facial surgery. The stuff in the drug stores was a little too touch on his post surgical skin. This product works great and isn’t harsh when removing it from your skin.

The Gentle Paper Tape is a great product which I usually buy at Target. However, you have chosen to redesign the dispenser. Instead of the standard design which works extremely well, you have given us the most clumsily and pathetically designed dispenser I have ever encountered.

It’s difficult to use and totally annoying. This is so unlike 3M to do something so DUMB. Get rid of it! Bring back the other dispenser. It is so, so much better.

This tape is very hard to peel off of your skin and leaves a sticky residue behind. It also smells bad. I do not recommend this for anyone especially with an incision. I used it on my forehead to hold a piece of gauze in place to cover some dermatitis.

I also had foundation and powder on and it pulled my skin terribly when I tried to remove it 8 hours later. The sticky residue made my skin itchy as well. I will be returning this!.

I received this product to try in exchange for my honest review. My son was recently diagnosed with a skin condition on his hands that requires medication to be applied and then covered with something like an adhesive bandage or gauze with tape.

Adhesive bandages contained too much adhesive to aid in the healing process. We purchased a large box of roll gauze, that was very delicate, to wrap around his hands. Most tape we tried adhered to strongly to keep the gauze on and would loosen the gauze and cause it to fall away, defeating the purpose of what we were doing.

Nexcare Gentle Paper First Aid Tape was just what we needed. It held the gauze in place and allowed my son’s hands to begin healing. It has just the right amount of adhesive to hold while not pulling apart the gauze.

Using this to tape my mouth shut at night and ensure I am breathing through my nose. Product works great for this! Look up the benefits to taping your mouth shut while you sleep. Sounds strange, but I’m sleeping much, much better and not snoring.

Not waking up with a super dry mouth, either.

This paper tape is good guality and value. so great if you have sensitivity to other tapes. I have had no bad reactions to tape when i remove, thats what im looking for. i would recommend, ive purchased several boxes before and will again.

got a good box of tape. have bought from others & tape didn’t stick. it’s hit & miss on ebay with micropore tape. must be improper storage in hot warehouse or shed or something because date codes were years left to go & it still didn’t stick.

i switched to curad & never had any troubles.

Tape came as just a roll of tape. no packaging what so ever and in a zip lock baggy. Unacceptable for medical or really anything else that is “new”. description does not say “open box or unboxed” or I would not have purchased.

I do not recommend for medical purposes as you want new – clean material and who knows what this has been around. money down the drain.

It is truly an unbelievable value – for $9. 28, delivery charge included, not only does it blow every single offer I have seen so far – locally and long-distance – but it is actually almost unbelievable.

And that is especially true if one were to look at local prices and quality. There is one place where it is still much more expensive as well as so sticky on the outside of the tape that using it is virtually impossible, as it sticks to the last place it touches (which is your hand, NOT the gauze around the wound).

Furthermore, when it comes to removing it – after having had it attached to you for a day, day and a half, or even close to two days – this tape comes off pretty much without a hitch, while the other two that I was forced to try come off in small pieces, leaving sticky residue behind.

The best tape on the market for what it does. Affordable too. I use it to secure tubing and it comes off gently.

3M sent me a free sample of the Nexcare Gentle Paper First Aid Tape to evaluate. It couldn’t have come at a better time — I was in need of paper first aid tape to help keep a wound covered while healing, which also meant that I had to change the dressing frequently.

The Nexcare Gentle Paper First Aid tape sticks well – I’ve used other brands of paper tape that did not stick well at all – yet it comes off easily and does not tear or hurt the skin. This particular roll of Nexcare tape came in a plastic tape dispenser (like you would use with invisible tape) and tore off easily for hassle-free use.

I even used this tape to help add some “grip” to a very slippery hairbrush handle that was impossible to use before adding the tape. In other words, the Nexcare Gentle Paper First Aid Tape will be the only paper first aid tape I keep in my home and first aid kits because of its superior quality and gentle, yet secure adhesive.

I received this Nexcare Gentle Paper Tape from 3M in exchange for my honest review. As a mom of 4 busy kids cuts and scrapes are just part of my day to day. I’m constantly buying gauze and tape for the scraped knees and elbows.

I got this tape in time for my daughter learning how to ride her bike. Knee needed to be bandaged so we used this tape since it was convenient. This tape says it’s meant to be for frequent changes which, if you have a 4 year old, you know they never leave the bandage on for long! It peeled off easily without tears but held on tight over night.

That is a win for me! In the morning it peeled off just as easily which was great. I will definitely be keeping this tape in my first aid kit.

This last delivery was assembled correctly. With the two previous orders all the tapes in the packs were assembled with the tape spool inserted in the dispenser upside down – very annoying. The dispenser is virtually a sealed unit with no capacity to the correct the spool insertion.

However all is well now – I am just whinging!.

The dispenser is really handy, we are using this to secure 24 hour Holter Monitoring electrodes and leads. They are less sticky on our equipment and less harsh on our patient’s skin, than the transpore tape we had been using previously.

The picture shows a roll of TAN or Flesh colored tape which is what I wanted. I received white tape. I will NOT Be using this.

This tape is wonderful for a variety of injuries that need to be taped. I primarily use it for bandaging needs on my feet where it can be hard to bandage. This slim tape goes easily between the toes if needed.
