20 Best Teen Period Underwear (2022 Updated)

My teen daughters tried a pair of Thinx period underpants each right before they changed name to Thinx Teens and both my girls were extremely happy with them. I definitely wanted to buy them each some more pairs.

The relaunch happened and the model we had bought changed name but we managed to find the same kind and sizing was still right. They are still great but one thing really made me sad. Our first pairs had a double layer of knit, so they were like a lined pair.

Now they only have one layer of knit but it’s the same thin knit that is used. That’s the reason for my 3 stars and not 5 stars. That is not an acceptable change. That knit is too flimsy and thin to work as one layer underwear fabric and they will for sure not last very long.

We will not purchase any more from this company unless that changes. Which is a shame because our first pairs before the relaunch would have gotten 5 stars.

They all work really well. I’m not too pleased with the fit/coverage area though. The size is accurate but the material coverage is very off. I have the Thinx hiphugger size M that fits higher up on my waist but covers less of my butt and very narrow in the crotch area.

The Thinx brief size M that covers my butt better but too short on the waist. The Thinx (TEENS) shorty size 15-16 for my 15 year old and she didn’t like one of the colors. So I tried them on instead of returning them and they fit great and for me with better coverage of my butt and high enough on my waist go figure!! 🙂 (I’m normally a size 10 in womens clothing and have a bigger than average butt) at 5’4″ height.

I hope my review helps you find your perfect fit. I no longer have my period but they work really well for my occasional pee accidents and I definitely have more self confidence when I’m wearing them then when I’m not.

My 15 year loves hers and feels confident when it’s that time of the month for her.

Not just this purchase but all of them: I am impressed! I won’t lie. I went into the period underwear thing very skeptical. I tried multiple different brands, and was the most worried TBH about Thinkx as they themselves seemed to make it clear that any period panty made for higher than a light flow was intended to be worn with extra protection.

I have super and non-supers of Thnkx and of all the products so far Thinx is by far the best, for many reasons. First off let me say this: I have not worn anything but underwear during my periods now for 6 months!!! That’s half a year with no tampons, no pads, nothing! I throw on the undies and as long as I think of them the same way I do pads I don’t have any leaks.

The same way you would expect a pad to start to leak around the edges after wearing them long enough you’d expect a period panty to leak, and that goes for all brands. You need to change them eventually! But Thinks keeps me dry, and gives me the most longevity of any product so far.

The product has no odour (one of the brands does) and it doesn’t feel wet (one of the brands does). They are soft and flexible (one of the brands isn’t at ALL) and they feel arguably the most like underwear, and come in many different styles and cuts.

Online ordering is pretty good – so far all the undies have fit well and comfortably (and I am picky!). For anybody new to period undies it’s worth mentioning that they aren’t like pads – the “soiled” area is not wet the way a pad would be and you don’t need to worry about them soiling anything else if you have to wait a laundry load or two before getting to them.

Just fold them up, pop them in a washable bag with the others and toss them in to be washed when it’s time. From wash to next wear I have found it’s about 12 to 24 hours depending on the day/humidity.

Of the brands I have tried they are my fav. Some were not comfortable, some were a tiny bit less effective (though none leaked, but some of them I feel like I really have to keep an eye on) and some are heard to get the right size when ordering.

One brand is more comfortable to wear than this one but not by much, except that particular brand has a lot of other downsides to it, which makes it not in the running for first place. Thinx has greatly impressed me.

Now all they need is to work on more overnight solutions/options!.

I bought a size 13-14 in the Super Shortys and Super Briefs. I’m 5 feet, 100 pounds, 32/25/35. Both styles fit similarly. I prefer the Briefs over the Shorty style. They both fit the same way in the back but the Shorts style has a little more fabric in the front to look more like a short but they’re not real shorts.

The absorbent panel in the Shorts style does not fully extend to each side of the gusset and I experienced leaks from the sides. However, the Briefs did have an absorbent panel which completely extended to each side of the gusset and I had minimal leaks when wearing the that style.

I recommend the Briefs over the Shorty style for this reason. I don’t know whey they didn’t make the absorbent panel on the Shorts style extend completely to each side of the gusset where you would need the most coverage.

I will only wear the Super Shorty on medium-light days. They leaked when I wore them on heavy days after only about 2-3 hours. The gusset went up far enough in the front and back for day time use but I don’t think there’s enough absorbent leak proof material in the back to wear to sleep on heavy days.

I bought these for my 13 year old at her first sign of spotting. 8 weeks later and her first full period came. We ordered 2 different pairs of TEENS underwear and the TEENS pajama shorts. Not comfortable with tampons, she chose to wear underwear with pads during the day, and her thinx at night.

On Wednesday and Thursday night there were no issues, but on her third night she had no school the next day and slept in. Unfortunately she leaked through the underwear, through her pajamas and onto her sheets.

She had them on for about 12 hours, longer than she probably should have. The liner built into these underwear did not go high enough in the back, and she leaked there (thanks gravity). She also leaked through the sides of the underwear, they were FULLY soaked.

It was her first full period and she’s just getting the hang of it so we totally understand that they’re not full proof, I was just hopeful that we could avoid ruining sheets by purchasing these underwear.

She will continue to wear them. She’ll just make sure to wear the pajama shorts if she hopes to sleep in.

I bought a starter set for my 13 year old when I saw the dreaded sighs of her first period approaching. I wanted to make her first monthly as easy as possible for her. stocked up on advil, chocolate and pads.

soooo many pads and liners!!. Then I saw an ad for thinx. I’d probably seen that add 100 times before and ignored it, after all this “free bleeding hippy dippy stuff” was more for women who braided their body hair and put jade eggs in their vaginas to ward off evil spirits.

BUT then I thought about my first monthly. When having to wear a pad was more like walking around with a rolled up bar mat down ur knickers! Having to sneak away in class to the bathroom with one in ur pocket for an emergancy change.

I didnt want my daughter to deal with that so I figured I’d buy one pair of the womens version and give them a test run. and omg I am so sold on these things!! I went and bought my daughter the starter pack and sure enough it was mom for the win! She can wear them to school without worrying about pads and leaks or other kids seeing them through her pants.

She went to visit family and instead of packing a box full of pads or trying to calculate how many she may need she just took a few pairs of thinx and no one could tell the difference between those and regular underwear.

I’ve so far bought 2 sets and a bunch of the newer funkier prints for teens. I will deff be stocking up for when my younger ones join the club.

I’m 23 so I’ve been getting my period for awhile but these were cheaper and fit my measurements so I wanted to take advantage of the sale. That being said I think every person who might be getting their first period should have something like this- it would save so much trouble and embarrassment in school to throw these on if you think your period is coming, esp if your cycles aren’t regular.

They just feel like regular full coverage underwear. So much nicer to wear if you’re in bed with bad cramps. My goal with these products was to reduce waste and have less fuss during my period and they definitely achieve that! I have the original line of thinx in a 3 different styles as well and I’m so glad I made the switch from pads.

I even prefer the TEENS, I think they hold the same amount and are softer than the other pairs I have. I can have very heavy days and even then and sleeping overnight in weird positions I have no major leaks.

They are simple to care for, always come out clean in the wash, and are comfortable day or night. I’m not someone who really cares how they look beneath clothes but these in particular lay flat and are soft! They fit pretty true to size, I was in between sizes 13-14 and 15-16 and went with the bigger size and they have enough give and space while still staying close to the body.

It is so nice to not have to worry about having to buy pads or tampons, not have to wash stains out of my sheets and clothes, and have almost zero extra trash during my period. This is a very glowing review considering I haven’t tried other brands but I just love not having to purchase, remember, and throw out disposable products.

I wish I had bought these sooner and I hope to see these become more affordable and accessible for all!.

I bought myself the Thinx period starter pack in 2019 and absolutely love them. I knew that when my oldest daughter started her period I would be buying her the TEENS starter pack. We ordered these in September and my daughter really likes them.

I only ordered her the 3 pack because of the price and I want her to get some good use out of them before she doesn’t fit in them anymore. She is pretty slender and the 11-12 fits her great and the different styles are so comfortable she says.

I think these are great for younger girls like my daughter because she enjoys not having to remember pads and worry about leaking onto her clothes. She can literally get dressed for school in the morning like any other day and not have to think twice about it.

She loves that aspect of it. We will definitely be buying more in the future!.

I loved these originally! Thought the price was amazing with the quantity and quality. However, as time passes I am no longer satisfied and will have to discontinue there use after only a few months of ownership.

I bought them at the end of September. Is it April so about 7/8 months of ownership. They now have stretched out and cause a rash type feeling from the fabric of the pantries rubbing against my inner vaginal thigh – essentially the spot where the leg and vagina meets and folds.

The fabric is to rough and thick now and no longer fits sleek so it rubs. You sort of feel like you are wearing it backwards but you are not. Anyway pretty sad it didn’t last even a ‘em year and I will need to try another set.

I originally loved these though and thing they are great testers!.

These underwear were EXACTLY what I was looking for. The first day of my peroid and the last 2 to 3 days I have very little bleeding. I felt so wasteful using pads during these days not to mention the unneeded uncomfortableness of a pad.

I flow really heavy for two days and am scared to death to try them on those days not to say they won’t work but I would have to change them so often I might not catch it in time. But for light bleeding its been a game changer for me.

They fabric is soo soft and comfortable and not bulky at all in the crotch. I totally dig the black, for obvious reasons, but maybe changing the inside of the crotch area to a light grey would be better.

It’s challenging to see how much you have bled on lighter days with the crotch being black.

My daughter is visually impaired. She has very limited vision, absolutely no night vision just to give some context. When she got her first period in Jan this year at age 10. 5, I got her to use regular pads, which she was fine with until the third cycle where she got her period for 15 days straight.

It completely annoyed her that she had to wear pads at night time but now to have to do this every night for 2 weeks really upset her. The last thing I wanted for her to feel was any negativity toward her monthly cycle, so I promised her we’d figure out a way around this.

Next contender in the ring were reusable menstrual pads but they came with their own problems for a vision impaired kid trying to deal with these new changes in her body. The main complaint was the pads not staying put and hence major leaks.

This was all still during the lockdown and she was home but I still worried about so many situations when school would start. Would she be able to spot a stain if she got her period in the middle of the day in school? And what about having to change a pad in school? And then I started looking into period panties and came across Thinx! OMG was I relieved! Quickly placed an order and pinned all my hopes on it.

It did not disappoint. I am not someone who leaves reviews let alone the mini essay that I’ve written, but truly one of those products that have a life changing effect. I don’t have to help her position pads anymore, it’s a simple pull up and take off! Just like regular underwear.

NO leaks! With regards to washing the underwear, I got her one of those makeup brush cleaning pads so she can scrub the underwear against it to make sure it’s clean and then she can hang it to dry. This was an adaptation for her unique situation, but you don’t have to.

I’ve watched my daughter use these for a year almost and I couldn’t be happier and more grateful. Hope this helps another mama decide!.

I’m really glad that the fit is comfortable and the look is great. It doesn’t feel or look like a diaper and everything claimed about the comfort, smell control, absorbency etc is true. There’s just one minor design flaw that makes them almost completely unusable for me.

It leaks out the sides. Constantly. The pad NEEDS to be wider. I thought that the shortys would be better about that and would have the pad go down the leg a bit more, but no. Basically if you can’t use no-wing pads then this probably won’t work either.

In the future I might get a lightweight one to wear with my cup, but the whole point of getting these was so I didn’t have to use the cup. I have severe pelvic tension so having the cup in causes me great pain.

I’m really disappointed. I even saved up money to buy these and now I can’t use them.

Growing up as an active girl in the 1980s with a heavy period and pads the size of diapers, I didn’t believe it was possible for a thin pair of underwear like Knix to work – especially on the heaviest flow days.

When my teenagers started using them I would ask them, “So they work on day 2?! And you need no pads??!” Yes mom; eye rolls. After which I would launch into a nightmare story of having to change out the diaper and deal with spotty pants using the flimsiest school toilet paper in the girls’ bathroom in 1987.

I was convinced I’d be getting call to come pick them up from school because of leakage. Didn’t happen. After two years of periods for two teens I have had zero calls home for leakage. A miracle of technology, and a reminder of what the world can be when women are in charge of designing their own products.

The bonus – and ultimately this is the main thing – is the waste reduction. Saving the planet and our self-confidence with every use. Bravo!.

I bought these underwear for my twin girls. They are just turning 11, and while they have not gotten their periods yet, some of their friends have already gotten their periods, and this gave both my girls anxiety thinking they would be caught off guard.

I’m sure we still have a few years before they will need these underwear, however the peace of mind and confidence they’ve given my girls was totally worth every penny! I will continue to purchase these underwear for them as they grow! Thank you so much for making such a wonderful product! My girls are both very slender, and wear a youth size 10 or 12.

I purchased both the XXS and XS sizing. The XXS fits them both perfectly right now.

We had the same experience/issues as others. Very disappointed with these. Bought 5 pairs with the hope these would save on pads for my 13th old daughter. Pads are so uncomfortable for her and we thought these would be the magic bullet.

Nope not even. Major leakage and embarrassment at school. She had to wear a jacket around her waist because they leaked so badly. She doesn’t even have a very heavy period/flow. Needless to say a waste of money – if you have to still wear a pad I would just buy regular underwear at a fraction of the cost.

Wish we could return them.

Love these period kits for my 12 year old twins. One prefers the bikini cut, and the other the boyshort, but they both feel completely confident during the day at school in the underwear and overnight in the briefs.

One has a heavier flow and I feel confident sending her to school in the super absorbency underwear, knowing she’ll have the protection she needs. I highly recommend this as the perfect starter kit for your tween, preteen, or teen! Ps – I also have this same kit in the adult size for myself and it has been a game changer for me! LOVE it.

So much more comfortable than other period underwear I’ve tried. As soon as I tried them, I knew without hesitation this was the brand I’d buy for my daughters when their cycles started.

I find the underwear very comfortable. I like the material and though I think the product works well overall, there is not enough coverage on the front and it has leaked through the front. I wish the padding was 1-1.

5 inch higher at the front. I found to have more leaks through the front with the Knixteen leakproof bikini model than the regular knix model, though I also find the regular knix model not high enough at the front.

I had tried knixteen to see if it would be better than regula knix and was dissappointed, as it it had less coverage, and I dont have heavy periods.

My daughter prefers this style over the bikini because it has greater backside coverage. My daughter likes that it’s not obvious she is wearing something specific to deal with her cycle. She was embarrassed, in the past, when others, especially classmates at school, could hear her disposable pads crinkling as she walked around.

I’m thrilled period. co offers period panties in sizes up to a 30W/32W because no other company is so size inclusive. This is amazingly awesome but I’m pretty sure the company simply took their standard sizes and made them larger and unfortunately when it comes to plus sizes starting about a 22W+ and going up that’s really not adequate as proportionally just making something larger start creating some pretty significant fit issues.

I wear a size 26W in popular on trend plus size fashion brands, I can wear a size 24W but prefer the flexibility of fit in a 26. These panties unfortunately the leg holes were so wide and high that they really weren’t able to be worn as intended.

I did order a 6X which was a size up Based on the sizing chart, but I really don’t think sizing down would have fixed the significant fit issues. I do carry quite a bit of weight in my lower abdomen or apron area and as these are period panties they need to fit pretty close to the body to provide coverage.

I was able to achieve a decent fit however I had to wear the panties backwards. This trick worked perfectly because even the light high waisted panties have generous absorbent coverage through the front and back.

A major reason this worked for me is because while I Carry weight in my lower abdomen in the front my bum is wide but flat. If I was curvy in the front and the back I don’t think this would’ve worked.

Some plus size women who have weight in the lower abdomen/apron area will choose to wear panties that fit under the apron area. That is not a viable option with these panties as even with the lighter absorbency the material is thick enough that it would be added bulk and cause unsightly bulges in clothing.

Panty lines are absolutely going to be visible with these panties that’s not a concern for me and I think this is to be expected, but if that something that someone consciously tries to avoid that is something to take into consideration.

Not only would panty lines be visible in the typical area around the legs but also along the seeming for the gusset which is going to fall in a different position than traditional panties. I Really liked the cotton fabric as it was breathable.

I followed all the care instructions as printed on the garment and they washed and dried very well. The only other potential drawback with the heavy absorbency it’s because it can absorb so much it’s awesome potentially you could wear it for an entire day without needing to change; however, that also means it’s a fluid trapped inside has been exposed to the air for potentially an entire eight hour day.

Anytime menstrual flow exits the body and is exposed to air the longer it’s exposed to air the more potential there is for odors. Odor is natural and expected and this definitely comes down to a personal preference.

I don’t mean to say the pennies had a smell of some thing rotting but I do knowI know for me by the end of six hours I could actually smell an odor while I was driving. It was the scent of blood and if anyone has ever worked in healthcare it’s a very distinct smell not necessarily good or bad.

It was not noticeable to anybody else however I do you know that it potentially could cause some embarrassment depending on the bathroom situation someone may have when using a public restroom particularly in a smaller office.

I don’t think this is necessarily a drawback but it’s definitely something to be mindful about. I think it’s easily solvable if somebody had a wet bag with them and could change panties midday. Overall good product I would say be cautious with fit Particularly when it comes to plus sizes and be aware because this government does hold a significant amount of fluid and can be worn for a significant amount of time before becoming full it needs to be tempered with a personal preference regarding potential odors.

Had to wait weeks before I could test them out (excited to get my period—say what?). I got both the sporty high-waisted and the regular high-waisted, and I would say both seem to be okay overall: waist band doesn’t dig and feels comfy throughout the day, cut is pretty flattering for period underwear/paraphernalia (no noticeable bulges from the absorbent layers), and the absorbent part absorbs—for the most part.

In addition, I have hip/waist sizes of both the small and medium, so I went with sizing down which seemed like the right option—the leg holes weren’t too restrictive for my thicker thighs and made me feel secure.

Cons: I’m skeptical of their claim that these types hold as many tampons as they do because when I was on my heavy days (my period is moderate, I believe), I started to have some leakage along the gusset threading.

I could only tell because there was dried blood on the outside. In addition, I was disappointed by the design of both types because the absorbent layers don’t go up very far in the back; I ended up staining the tag of my black joggers because I was lying down for a good part of the day (you know the vibe).

The absorbent layers vs regular material are all-or-nothing: they’re thick like a pad but are sewn too far up the front that the front practically covers more than the back does, which is odd, and the non-pad material does nothing to absorb fluids.

In the future, I hope they extend the pad material far up the back because I’ve ended up leaking through the material farther up my butt. Speaking of fluids, when I noticed the underwear absorb a decent amount, the upper pad material remained wet which is not ideal—and this was after 8+ hours of wear on a heavier day.

Would I solely rely on this on my heavier days in the future? No, unfortunately, but it would be fine for lighter days. I definitely recommend testing these out while wearing black pants throughout your “period” days.

Because the absorbent layers aren’t sewn far up in the back, it defeats the purpose of using it as a back-up for reusable pads since they would simply overlap the same area—not extend coverage. However, I could see it as an effective back-up for menstrual cups/other internal menstrual products.

I really wanted to love these, but the drawbacks outweighed my appreciation for this period underwear option.

As a person who has had extremely heavy and painful periods since the age of 12 I spent almost 30 years never finding a solution that felt good for my body. Using massive pads that would still leak at night or have to be changed every 30 minutes (maximum) or choosing tampons that made my cramps worse, getting yeast infections because of the plastic of pads on top of the sheer amount of waste they were producing.

it’s been a brutal journey. Now that I am in my forties I have hit peri-menopause and it sucks. For all the same and new reasons. That being said, since I switched to period underwear over 4 + years ago and previously trying washable pads my quality of life during my period has genuinely improved.

I almost never have leaks and if I do it is because I haven’t changed them or because peri-menopause sucks. But it has helped ease my cramps, I can actually work out during my period if I feel up to it (EVEN ON A BIKE!!) and when I have anxiety around bladder issues because of this stage of my body I just sleep in the underwear and I don’t have issues.

There have been multiple times over the past few years that I have been exclusively using the Period Company where when I was approached by the usual person in the movie theater bathroom asking if I had a pad or tampon I have given them a pair of my clean period underwear if they were open to it.

I honestly, can not say enough good things about these. They are super comfortable, I love that they are cotton (take that yeast infection!) and I feel secure wearing white pants during the day and white nightdresses during my period.

If you are considering trying them, I highly recommend the high waisted ones for heavy flow in a color close to your skin tone both in summer and winter tones. Oh! I also have a young friend of my son who just started their first period AND THEY ARE USING THEM!!! We also both used the swim bikini bottoms all summer.

Life changing.

I love that this is organic cotton. In the beginning, I was still scared about leakage and so I put my usual pad on top and the underwear served as backup. However, I hated that every time I used the bathroom to change the light day or regular day pad, the sticky part would pull off a thin layer of the cotton underwear with it (some threads here and there).

I didn’t like the thought of my expensive underwear slowly being thinned out over the months or years because of the sticky backing of the pads. I finally decided to use it on the first day of my period showing (a super light day).

Of course that means the underwear is barely absorbing any blood lmao but at least I have drastically cut down on my light day liner purchases! This past Christmas I decided to gift myself my second period underwear and I use this one on the last day of my period, also when there is barely anything left to absorb lol.

So now I basically STOPPED buying liners which I see as a win. It’s taking me forever to finish that last box. Anyway, I will buy my third period underwear next and use it on the days I happen to be home on the weekend to test out the absorption.

Cos then at least I’m at home and can change asap if needed. I’m excited because even though I’m still buying pads, I’m slowly getting to my goal of zero plastic =).

I really wanted to love this product! First, it is not super comfortable but I could tolerate that if it worked well. I first got a small size which was not holding up too well during the night. I then got a medium which was initially better, After a couple of months, it is no longer absorbing the flow.

It is leaking through the middle of the panties and got into my clothes multiple times. So unfortunately they will go to the trash. I wish I could get a replacement. This is hugely disappointing.

Used to be I had to have at least 2-3 grundy grandma panties to wear with the super long pad – and it still managed to leak. Now the period underwear takes away that feeling of wearing a diaper for that time of the month.

Although I would only recommend using them in the very beginning when the period starts and toward the end of the flow when you play the “I thought you were done” game. Depending on your flow – heaviest in the middle – then you still have to rely on pads but at least I’m cutting down on purchasing pads.

I’m also looking into other alternatives for the pads such as cloth with wing snaps – who wants to risk carrying bulky pads, (even if the wrapper is pretty) that might get dropped in front of everybody letting them know your cycle – embarrassing.

I’ll be buying a few more period underwear for my daughter to use. It’s a start!.

I really had high hopes for the Saalt period underwear and I loved the cups, so I went ahead and purchased a bundle of 7. I really wish I hadn’t purchased that many without testing them out first, but I figured I was making an investment.

When I received them, they looked well-made and soft. I tried them on, but they all felt just a tad too tight (around my bikini line). I figured maybe there was tightness on purpose to help alleviate cramping so I moved on and chose to not worry about it.

I don’t bleed super heavy in general, but I immediately found that without a cup in place on my first 2 days, I would quickly bleed through within an hour. The more I used them, the more I realized that the pad lining inside was too small of an area to fit to me.

If I was leaning forward in my chair for too long or laying down on my back/side, I would eventually bleed passed the lining and then stain the pretty part of the underwear. Heavy day or not, I found this would still happen regardless.

I understand it’s to save money, but the absorbing lining really needs to cover most of your front pelvis and all of your bum so that you can have the ability to lay on your back or on your stomach without worrying about leaks.

Not sure if it was because my thighs and hips are thick, but it the underwear felt like it was too small for me in general (that was after having measured myself and carefully followed their sizing charts on the website before purchasing).

Not long after, on my second cycle since using the underwear, one of my pairs started to rip along the seam. It’s now become a gaping hole with another starting on the side. Throughout the year, having purchased these back in April of 2021, I’ve had 3 more rip in the same locations.

I tried to be gentle with them and care for them properly. I really wanted to like these and have tried to ignore the problems. I’m 5″6′ and 170lbs. and my hips are 42 in.

Love the style of these panties, they look beautiful. I am a big fan of the elemental lace – beautiful pattern and very soft. Also the high waist is just really comfortable when you’re feeling crampy.

I do wish the gusset would go up a little higher in the front & back. The gusset technology is Saalts specialty – very quick to absorb and therefore leaves you feeling drier than other brands gussets.

I like the fabric from the Comfort Collection better than this poly fabric but that’s really up to individual preference. I am between a small and medium and usually get a medium in Saalt wear and that fits great.

For some reason a part of the stitching ripped on both sides in the exact same place (front of the leg openings, left and right side) while wearing them for the first time – not sure what’s up with that.

It looks a little unsightly but there haven’t been any other issues so far.

I have been using period underwear from various brands for years, and was excited to try these. The material is soft and silky, and the mesh adds a luxurious touch. I do wish Saalt had a natural fiber option, rather than only having polyester – recycled poly still sends micro plastics to the ocean and becomes trash when its life is over! The gusset is notably thinner and more flexible than any other period underwear I’ve tried, and is sufficiently absorbent.

I’ve had problems with every brand of period underwear in that the gusset does not extend far enough in the front to allow for nighttime (stomach sleeping) wear. These are no exception – better than most, in that they have enough coverage to avoid leaks in the daytime, but I still wouldn’t be able to rely on them at night.

I have a 41. 5” hip, wear size 10 pants and the Large fit comfortably.

I tried these because they were on clearance. I wear an XL and have bladder leakage when I sneeze or cough. Around the house, I do not wear a pad. Outside of my home I do. These are more comfy than other brands I’ve tried and they don’t make a rustling sound when I move.

The crotch is soft and the overall material is smooth. I am going to try a moderate pair since these worked well and I don’t want to keep polluting the environment with disposable pads. Additionally, I don’t want to wear pads in the summer.

I wish the crotch protection was longer in the front and back. That’s my only suggestion.

I was so pleased with these silky-smooth panties that really do prevent embarrassing leaks; I ordered a second set. I’m so tired of wearing pads to trap the occasional bladder leaks especially when I’m dressed up and going out.

These panties look and feel like the most expensive lingerie and more importantly they provide peace of mind. Priceless. I ordered the high-rise version in XL and the fit is perfect. Thank you, QVC for offering a product like this for those of us women who need them.

Please continue to offer these because they are just as described and “worth every penny. “.

I’ve been looking for leak-resistant underwear that wouldn’t be so bulky and these really are exactly what I was looking for. I’ve tried other brands but they are way too thick and very uncomfortable when walking.

These on the other hand are perfect and you barely feel them on. The absorbency if great for pregnancy leaks/discharge. For reference Im 5’6”, pre pregnancy 136lbs, currently 154lbs at 33 weeks pregnant and I purchased a Small which is my pre pregnancy size and it fits great! It does roll down a little bit under my belly but it doesn’t bother me at all.

I would definitely recommend them :).

Knix has completely changed my period process. I used to wear pads and had to deal with leaks and general bulkiness. I started buying Knix products, and with the Super Leakproof shorts in particular, I have been able to nearly eliminate pads altogether.

I’ve used one pad in six months (ONE, people!), and I’m never going back. (And yes, if you’ll be out and about all day, you can totally layer a pad inside of these, then ditch it once it’s full. Lets you go all day without having to find a way to somehow tuck an extra pad or tampon inside your running shorts, ya know?) Never mind the fact that this is for teens (I’m 31 and love the fun colors), and that these are supposed to be for sleeping (full coverage AND crazy high absorbency? Yes, please!)–I use them all the time.

I told my husband that I don’t dread my period anymore because I hardly know it’s happening now. If you’re on the fence, this is totally worth it. If you’re an adult like me, look past the crazy eye makeup on the models (kids these days!), find your size (they’ll have it), and buy this much cheaper KT version of the Knix Dream Shorts.

You will be very glad you did!.

Disposable pads for heavy flow always seem to make a lot of noise. So I was interested in trying something a little quieter. These shorts definitely fit the bill! I’m an adult who has a terrible time finding underwear that fits.

I have to buy girls’ underwear, and usually in what seems like a ridiculously small size. For these shorts, I went by my measurements. Big mistake. The shorts were HUGE. Thankfully, with Knix’s size guarantee, I was able to get a pair in the next size down.

They fit much better! I still find the gusset a bit wide, but I suppose it needs to be to provide proper coverage. I love the feel of the shorts themselves. In fact, I kind of wish Knix made everyday underwear in the same style so I could wear these cute shorts during the rest of the month! One thing I’m a little unsure about is how to clean them.

I tried rinsing them in cold water before putting them in the laundry basket. Not much seemed to come out during the rinse. But, as they sat waiting to go into the washing machine, they sort of released the blood into the surrounding fabric.

They did come clean in the wash, but I’m not sure if this is what’s supposed to happen. In any case, these are a nice option to disposable pads. I feel much better about using something like this and not contributing more plastic waste to the landfill.

If you are having trouble deciding on size, please read all the way through. I will try to remember to update my review once I’ve actually tried these during my period. For now, my review is based solely on fit/size and customer service.

I am a woman in my 40’s – I am 5’2, 117 pounds with 36” hips. In clothing I am generally a size small, but sometimes in panties I am a medium. I cannot stand underwear that cuts into the inside of my thigh.

In the regular/adult Knix line I wear a small. I can wear the medium, but they do stretch over time. I wanted to order from the KT line as I preferred the fun colours offered. I ordered 2 Period Kits that include the Sleepover Short.

One kit with the Super Leakproof Boyshort option and one kit with Leakproof Bikinis. Based on the size chart and some reviews I ordered both kits in a size medium. The Sleepover Shorts, in medium, fit perfect, they are my favourite part of these kits.

The bikini and boyshorts were both too small. The bikinis were not as tight as the boyshort, but both were too tight around the inside of my thigh. I realize these will probably stretch some too, but the medium was just far too tight – very uncomfortable for me – I needed a large.

I contacted customer service and they were excellent. KT allowed me to exchange the boyshorts and bikinis for a large and I could keep the sleep short in medium. As per the return instructions, I only opened one pair of boyshorts and one pair of bikini.

KT advised I was to keep the ones I opened, send back the ones I didn’t open. They would donate the unopened mediums. Today I received the boyshorts and bikinis in large, I tried them on and as far as I can tell they fit perfect.

When I compare them to my adult Knix undies in a size small, the waist is a similar measurement across, but the coverage on the bum in the KT is more modest, covering more of the bum cheeks. I definitely don’t mind this as they are for my period and I think the extra coverage will be good.

I measured the underwear I received. I hope this helps anyone who is having a hard time with sizing. The measurements are taken with underwear laying flat. Size Large Leakproof Bikini – 13” or 33cm waistband, 9” or 23cm leg opening Size Large Super Leakproof Boyshort – 13.

I bought these because I loved the pattern selections – they looked super cute and fun while serving a greater function, lol. I really do like these. They are nice and comfortable and light, mimicking regular underwear.

It definitely does NOT feel like period underwear, or even worse – like wearing a pad! I wish they were a teeny bit thicker. I compared them to my Thinx and I would definitely use these on my lighter days vs.

the Thinx on my heavier days. But overall these were a great buy and I am very happy with my purchase.

Initially, I was excited try a product that eliminates purchasing feminine hygiene products altogether. On the date of purchase of the “Alice” panty, my cycle had already come and gone. As a result, I waited another month for Aunt Flow to make her monthly return visit.

Needless to say, “impressed” is a mere understatement! Although back-up sanitary protection was worn at the very beginning as this was my initial experience with Joyja and I was away from home, I gradually relaxed, and allowed nature to run its course without any assistance whatsoever.

I also paid close attention to the presence or lack thereof of any odor. I detected none. There was no staining and menstrual fluid rinses out of the panty with ease. It is with the utmost confidence that I give this product a 5-star rating, and highly recommend it if searching for an alternative to traditional feminine hygiene protection!.

I’ve been using disposable products for 30 years. (Even though I diapered my kids in cloth!) I love these absorbent panties – eco-friendly, long-term cost saving. I took the plunge and bought four pairs.

These are comfy, don’t ride up, even though they’re nice and snug. Odor masking, too! My biggest complaint is that the black lining (while very attractive) makes it pretty impossible to tell if it’s time to change, which so far has left me a little nervous about leaks, even though I haven’t had any yet.

They’re easy to wash out (I did cloth diapers, remember?) and I’m hopeful they’ll hold up after the washer. So far I’m changing twice a day, so will need to invest more in this if I’m going to switch completely.

This is almost perfect, but still falls short. The good I’ll list first. The absorbency of this product is excellent. I have never ran into a menstrual product that had absorbency this good. I have a tendency of being a back sleeper.

This is detrimental for me on my period. That means the dreaded leak and run up your crack all the way up your back issue is almost always a problem. And you wake up feeling nasty, with stained underwear, and a sticky butt.

This underwear allows me to sleep on my stomach and my back freely without any concerns whatsoever. The blood doesn’t travel. It immediately gets absorbed the minute it comes in contact. So when I take the underwear off, majority of the blood is in one spot an the back is completely stainless.

Plus it absorbs so it doesn’t leave you feeling wet like my regular pads. Now for the negatives, the negative for this brand seems to be a common problem from my observation. The sizing is way too small.

And the pad part needs to be larger. Though I listed that you can sleep on your stomach and back freely without any concerns. You cannot sleep on your side. It will come out and leak on the side, the black part of the underwear that doesn’t have a pad will not stop it from coming out.

And the times I use this product, that has remained an issue. I will still leak out of the side if I roll over sideways. Now for the sizing issue. I got the small to medium. It says it goes up to 190 lb and a waistline of 40 in.

This could not be further from the truth. I am 120 lb. My lower waist measures 25 in. This underwear was entirely too small. I don’t know why this underwear goes off a waist measurement and not hip. Because I have a derriere on the larger side compared to my waist (over 40 in).

I could not pull these things over my butt completely. The crack of my butt was hanging out of the underwear. And the more I tried the pull, the more I heard the underwear starting to tear. THIS IS AGAIN FROM SOMEBODY WHO IS 120 LB.

NOWHERE CLOSE TO 190. I saw people complain about the thigh area being much too small, that is the other problem. The thigh area is entirely too small, and it’s quite uncomfortable. It digs into your thigh and groin and causes pain.

I was left having to do what other women said they had to do. And that is I had to tear the thigh part a little so that it was not digging in and squeezing me so tightly. And so that I could fit into the underwear better.

I think this also was another cause to for the leakage in the corner sides.

These are great. I’m practically bedridden during my periods. These allow me to remain horizontal worry free. Usually i wake up in the middle of the night and I’ve bled through my overnight pads and ruined my sheets.

So I started wearing super tampons and an overnight pad. So when these were released, I tried them and was SHOCKED. I had no leaks and no reasons to feel anxious through the night. They’re comfortable so I wear them in the daytime if I’m staying home.

I don’t recommend wearing them out because they are essentially diapers and probably won’t look great under your work trousers. Also there are scented and though that’s not a bad thing in general, i don’t prefer it.

I wish these came in larger boxes. They should also extend the size range because some of us have round booties and thick thighs. These fit me now but if i put on any weight it’s game over. TLDR: these are phenomenal and take away the stress of bleeding into your bed sheets.

They are very comfortable as well.

Throughout my menstruating life, I’ve been plagued with that wake-up surprise nobody wants – being awakened to discover you have accidentally stained yet another pair of undies, or worse yet, your undies AND your pajama pants, or even worse yet, awakening to stained underwear, pajamas, AND stained sheets (and being that I value comfort, my sheets are always 500 thread count or up, which means these sheets are NOT cheap)! It seemed that the price of a good night’s sleep was sometimes ruining clothing or bedding, and well, I’m not one to sacrifice a valuable good night’s sleep when I’m able to get it.

So when I happened upon these in my local Walmart, for around a buck a pair, I couldn’t NOT try these! The verdict? I LOVED them! I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit put off when I first opened them to see how much their appearance reminded me of a diaper, but I was relieved to discover they didn’t feel at all like one when on.

Absolutely no accidents or stained wake-up surprises, and I did not have to sacrifice comfort WHATSOEVER! In fact, these were so comfortable I didn’t want to have to take them off in the morning! I will say though that I am typically a large in underwear, and being that these fit me perfectly, I am not too sure if they would be too tight for someone who wears an XL.

But if you’re a L like me, these fit perfectly! I honestly forgot at times that I was wearing anything! So if you’re like me, and you believe NO woman should have to sacrifice a good night’s sleep because of a period – ESPECIALLY with a period (because we all know how tired those make us feel) – these disposable undies are worth every penny! No woman should have to set an alarm halfway through her sleep to get up and change menstrual products, or awaken to a mess, or sleep poorly from the worry she is going to have some kind of accident.

No woman should have to give up the comfort of their expensive sheets or comfy bed clothes because of their periods either. Thankfully with these period underwear, you don’t have to! Try them: I promise they’re worth every penny!.

Are these pricy? Yes, but what does it cost to continually ruin your underwear month after month? I’m 6 months post partum with my last baby. Had my tubes removed and my flow has been super heavy, in fact, heavier than I remember it with my first.

My 2nd day is horrible and I am not comfortable with tampons just yet so I was looking for something that could help me along and here they are! Here are some things I have learned so far: * Size up.

If you are close to the border on the chart, size up. * personally wouldn’t wear these out in public. They make a sound that I am sure people can hear…. maybe you don’t care lol but I do. * these are not completely leakproof, but use common sense, if you’ve bled a lot in them you should probably change them more frequently.

*they are not individually wrapped so if you need to take them anywhere you need to be aware of this. * the box is kind of bulky, wish the packages could be redesigned *some have commented on the scent- didn’t bother me as I let them kind of air out before use Bottom line, if you see these, give them a solid try.

I will be purchasing more.

I bought a dozen of these and a few of La Senza’s similar cotton string thongs at the same time. The elastics are slightly wider on these, just enough to keep them from curling unlike the LaSenza ones.

Also the first LaSenza one I tried had an elastic on one side sewn on twisted and another La Senza has stitching coming loose already; the Aerie ones are better constructed and stitched. Although yes the elastics on these aren’t sewn 100% perfectly aligned if you are examining them way up close, but it isn’t something that is visible or bothersome when being worn, and there is sometimes threads that can be easily snipped.

The stitching seems strong. Consider how little material there is here, they are well put together. I chose these when looking specifically for cotton underwear, and the simple design caught my eye on the mannequin at the store.

So comfortable it really feels like wearing nothing (using the washroom one time, I almost didn’t notice I hadn’t pulled them down!). The little lace detail at the back is a nice hint of sexiness for otherwise straightforward minimalist underwear; not scratchy while wearing as I had worried.

This is not my usual style but I’m glad I switched it up. I’ve found my new preferred style! I already got more during the 10 for $40 deal. So glad Aerie makes these in cotton. More solid colours to choose from would be nice.

So first, I like how the pad goes further than most period underwearI ordered 3 pairs. Easy to wash. I let mine air dry. I used them on a light day and I STILL felt wet. I didn’t leak, but it seems as if the underwear don’t absorb.

I don’t know if id feel comfortable using them on my medium days. im on a birth control so my periods aren’t super heavy. but I can’t shake the wet feeling and immediately took them off and rinsed them and washed them.

You’d think that they would absorb the blood and not be “wet feeling”?? I guess not. So I don’t know. I might just use them for overnight since the pad is so long in the back in case if I were to ever leak.

They also get sweaty easily if you are outside if you live in a hot climate so that’s not fun either. Sizing is good, true to size for me. not much cheek coverage though as previous reviewers stated.

also the thigh fabric rolls up and found myself having to roll it back down and waistband is a little weird fabric? like sticky almost? I don’t know how to describe it. But I would prob use these with a pad and just keep them for overnights.

The underwear are beautiful & so flattering! I was pleasantly surprised by this the first time I tried them on. This is my first ever experience with period underwear. The quality is very nice. I wore the mesh lace hipster the first day I started my period.

I was very comfortable all day & it was so nice to not have to worry about a pad. However, today is the second day of my period & my flow is significantly heavier. Though I am wearing the moderate to high absorbancy, I was only able to wear the underwear for 2 hours & they started to leak through, mainly through the sides.

Luckily I brought pads & underwear to work just in case. It was quite an uncomfortable situation. I think this is a great product for lighter days & the company has great potential. Saalt, I love what you are doing.

Just think you just need more research & product development for those heavier days. My hope is to be able to wear solely underwear throughout the length of my period.

I purchased these for my daughter who, up until now used pads. I remember what a pain pads are so when I saw these I was intrigued. Purchased her three pairs(in two different styles) to start. Was very happy to find the pink pair was lined in black.

Not gonna lie, the thought of them just being a super light pink made me not want to order them, I only did because she really wanted pink. When my daughter called me and told me they just make her feel better as a person I was elated for her.

I know how free I felt when I purchased my first cup (saalt obviously lol). It’s odd the amount of weight that comes off your shoulders when you find products like these. You don’t think, at any point, about how much stress you carry around over period management until it’s magically lifted.

My daughter and myself highly recommend finding your perfect Saalt fit for you. If your on the fence just do it. You will not regret it! My only regret is using tampons until I was 40! Never again!!! 🎉🎉🎉.

I bought a pair of these after using a few pairs of Thinx for a year or two. I think these are higher quality and I really like that the padding is much thinner. I wouldn’t use these for a heavy or moderate flow, but I like using them as backup to my Saalt cup (also a fantastic product) or on light days.

Actually, one of the things I like most is that I can use these when I’m not on my period, they do a great job of absorbing sweat and discharge. I’ve been looking for an alternative to pantiliners and I think these are it! Also, I love the design, they’re so pretty! I’m hoping the mesh will hold up over the long term, but so far, it’s been better than I had hoped.

Please don’t stop selling these. Ever.

I’ve been using TomboyX leakproof underwear for a while now and I really like them as backup on heavy days or as the only protection on lighter days. I’ve tried the hipster and bikini styles so far (the hipster being by far superior, in my opinion) and thought I’d give these a shot, but they disappointed me.

The general fit is not as good as regular TomboyX trunks nor the other styles of leakproof underwear. The legs ride up much more than regular 4. 5″ trunks in the same size (which is the smaller of two sizes that I’m in between, so it shouldn’t be too large) and the floating gusset just feels awkward and easily moves around or bunches up uncomfortably.

The main issue for me though is that the gusset doesn’t reach far enough forward – which, admittedly, may just be my anatomy – meaning that I’m partly bleeding through the regular fabric instead. Normally the awkward gusset placement is simply annoying, but in this case, it unfortunately kind of makes the whole garment unusable, since I can’t actually trust it to wear during my period, and it doesn’t really have a use beyond that (at least, they’re not *that* comfortable that I would wear them for fun on other days).

I much prefer the hipster style which has a wider gusset that also reaches further front, but I thought I’d try the trunks since the leg holes of the hipster are starting to stretch and ride up. Oh well, now I know.

Even though the quality of the product is great as always, the fit just isn’t right for my anatomy, so it’s honestly just a waste of money for me. I would advise anyone who runs into the “gusset is not where my vulva is” issue on a regular basis too not to get these and go for the hipster style instead if you’re looking to try the leakproof underwear.

I really wanted to love these, but I am incredibly disappointed. They do not work AT ALL. My complaints: 1) There is a little sewn-in pad in the crotch. This was not clear on the description or photos.

I thought these were made of an absorbent fabric throughout. I would not have purchased them if I knew that this was the design. 2) They do not work AT ALL. I have a very light flow and I soaked through the front right away.

Twice. I am thankful I tested them by wearing them around the house before going out in public or ruining some pants. To be clear, I did not soak the pad, the pad is poorly placed and/or too small and/or does not absorb quickly.

Plain cotton underpants (not period panties) leak less. 3) The legs ride up on my thunder thighs and get bunched up. Thus doesn’t affect the period performance (or lack thereof), but it’s annoying.

Fantastic underwear!! Size run large. I’m typically a medium but smalls are what I order in Tomboy x. Leakproof for sure – perfect for when you’re expecting your period any day but don’t want to wear liners all the time and perfect for at the end of your cycle when you think you’re done but your body has other plans … doesn’t matter anymore! Length is great.

No butt cheeks peeking out here – no wedgies – no bunch. They stay right where they should. I’ve replaced all of my underwear with First Line! Plus – no Oder issues like with other period underwear. It’s literally breathable comfortable perfect underwear for women with periods and/or other fluid leaks!.
