20 Best Teethers For Puppies (2022 Updated)

I actually buy my two little girls mostly Kong brand stuffed toys-they are the best! They’ve had a Kong like this for years & love it. I decided to buy another so that they could each have one now. For some reason neither one has any interest in it.

It doesn’t matter what treat I put inside, but neither tried to get it out for long, When comparing the new one to the old one, it looks the same. Maybe it smells differently to them & not in a pleasant way? I also purchased the new Kong biscuits that are supposed to go inside.

My one dog who will eat pretty much anything finally ate it, but my other baby sniffed it a bit & never ate it. The biscuits were also hard to get in & a couple started to crumble. Not what I expect from this brand.

I ordered this to help with a chewing problem I had with our new puppy. The puppy enjoys it at times, she doesnt play with it daily. It has held up to her chewing and it sort of bounces and rolls on the floor so it does encourage her to move and chase it around a bit.

I have used peanut butter and apples in it but it isnt necessary for her to have food inside. In some ways the food seemed to be frustrating to her as she struggled to get it out. I bought the appropriate size but she still struggled to get the pb out.

Have to watch her snack intake as she is getting multiple snacks and bones to chew during the training process. She doesnt seem to mind if its empty. It’s a little hard to clean after food has been used.

However, it has not broke or lost pieces and that’s a plus.

My dog is a super chewer lol. She can and will chew through ANY toy I get her. I wanted something with extreme durability that she could have fun with. I heard Kong was great for extreme chewers. So, I went and bought the pink one for her and let me tell you she’s had this toy for MONTHSSS and it still is in one piece and just as strong and durable from when I first purchased.

You wouldn’t even think I bought it that long ago. It’s her go to toy not only that but it’s a treat dispenser. So, I put the Kong treat spray in it every once in a while and it keeps her entertained for hours.

I would highly recommend this if you have a pet that enjoys tearing her toys up like mine an your tired of buying toy after toy. This toy will last forever!.

We’ve got two puppies that are teething right now and chewing on EVERYTHING. The boys are really small so the larger teething treats we’ve used before were too big. These sticks are just right for them (diameter about halfway between spaghetti and the inside of a straw, but solid) and will keep them busy and not chewing on anything else for about 15 minutes of blessed peace twice a day.

Will definitely be buying more as they work the last few teeth out.

I have been buying these chicken sticks for the last couple years, lots of them! My little 5 pound and 10 pound chihuahua LOVED them and would get so excited when they got one or maybe two each day. This recent batch of 11 bags that I bought were darker in color, so I read the package and it says added DHA for healthy brain development.

I’m assuming that’s why they are darker and not as appealing to my dogs now. They both look at me and after a minute, they decide to pick it up and eat it. You should have left well enough alone.

I got these healthy chew stick treats for a 3. 5# Pomeranian puppy that visits me. She loves them and it massages her gums while she enjoys a treat. I like that she consumes all of it with no choking risk.

Way better alternative to risky and unhealthy rawhide chews!.

My 3 month old son LOVES this teether. I bought it cuz bears are our nursery theme and I thought this one was so cute! My son loves to chew on the ears or any other part of this teether – I’ve just ordered another in sage in case we lose it.

I’ve also ordered another style teether from Mushie brand to see if he likes that one too. I’ve got an early teether and he goes to town on this adorable teether.

This has been such a great product, our baby is just 3 months and had started to gum his fist and so we thought we would try this although he wasn’t holding or grasping anything so we knew we would have to hold it for him, but after a couple of times he reached out and grabbed the Mushie which is brilliant.

So not only does he enjoying chomping on it – it has also helped him develop motor skills too!.

My sons absolutely loves this teether! It’s easy for him to hold and it’s soft on his gums! Can’t kept it out his mouth! Also love that it’s super easy to clean. Will definitely be buying more

I bought this from Tractor Supply! This toy is also good for teething puppies. I definitely recommend these toys. This is his second teething toy and he absolutely loves them. They are long lasting and puppies seems to love them.

Lasted 10 minutes. Puppy swallowed pieces of the toy. DO NOT BUY.

Bought for my two little puppies and put it in their crate at night. They do like it though they don’t use it as much as other chew toys. But I like it, its the perfect size and great quality.

These are not the larger round brown chewable flavored pills that my dog normally gets. Instead, they’re little chalky off-white colored pills. (Picture attached) At this point, I don’t know what the pill-type classification actually is for these.

The label says “tablets. ” My dog’s bottle from our usual pharmacy also has the brown flavored chewable pills labeled as “tablets” but that’s not what I received from Chewy. Clearly, their definition of “tablets” is different from Chewy’s definition of “tablets.

” So I will just refer to them as “pills. ” I only bought these from Chewy because they have been on backorder for over a month at my normal online pet pharmacy. The price should have been the red flag but I thought I was getting a “deal” because Chewy has a wider variety of items than other online pet pharmacies.

The description is very misleading and I doubt they’re actually flavored since my dog won’t touch these but doesn’t resist the brown ones. It would benefit everyone if Chewy provided a picture of the medicine like every other online pet pharmacy does.

The brown chewable flavored pills usually look similar regardless of which generic version it is and that would cut down on confusion and prevent people from wasting money by ordering something their dog won’t take.

I will be canceling auto-ship and will not be ordering any of my dog’s medicine from here anymore. This was my first pharmacy experience with Chewy and it most definitely was not a good one. I’m highly disappointed and expected better from such a well known company.

I’ll go back to buying them from my veterinarian’s clinic if necessary.

I think this is actually a very good chew toy in general, but the size was a factor in my dog’s response as far as playing with it went. My dog is an 8 lb, one year old with the chewing strength of an at least 20 lb dog, so it’s challenging to find the right toys with the appropriate combination of being small enough for her to hold onto, yet sturdy enough that she doesn’t destroy it in the first 5 minutes of play.

I had originally purchased the extra small size of this same wishbone, ( at another seller, because now I’m pretty sure Chewy doesn’t carry that size ), and due to it’s very sturdy material, she chewed on it eagerly without being able to wreck it.

Another small dog we know also liked it so much that I gave that one away to her, and purchased this “Small” size toy to replace my dog’s bone. When it arrived is when I realized that the small is not Chihuahua-sized, like the one I gave away.

This one is almost like a Nylabone Medium size. So my dog doesn’t care for it because it’s too hard for her to hold. I found out that the XS only comes in a two-pack “Puppy” size set, which I got elsewhere.

Hopefully Chewy will carry that set sometime too.

We have one normal chewer, and one power chewer that’s can literally chew through the “toughest” chew toys on the market within an hour. This toy is by far the longest lasting and worth every penny. Both dogs love it — alright, I’ll admit they each got one! — and both dogs return to them again and again.

It wasn’t this way at first. They were completely uninterested, walking away after a single sniff, but I threw them into the toy basket and waited. And waited. A month went by, then two. I lost patience and decided to take some heavy grit sandpaper to one end, in case the slick surface was the problem.

And waited some more. Three or four months later one of them was pawing through his stash and decided to give it a try. After a few minutes, the other one noticed and asked for a turn. Nothing doing.

He waited awhile, being a demanding sort of dog, before deciding to chew on his own. Now both of them chew these, not every day, but often enough to have worn down all three ends on both bones. I guess the flavor runs all through the whole bone? Regardless, it looks like these bones will last for years and, considering what we’ve spent on bones that last a week, they’re well worth the price.

Just have patience and leave them around.

1st off I have a mega chewer puppy. She loves the game of shredding something. She also loves the kids plastic toys. This has lasted 2months which is a feet considering She destroyed her non shreddable and ballistics material toys in less than 5 minutes.

The puppy loves this being tossed for her and she loves to drop it on the hard floors to hear it clatter. Best toy that travels in and out of the house with her because it just rinses clean.

Vet advised me firmly not to give puppies or small dogs hard plastic. It must be pliable like rubber or the Kong products they can eat from. I had to throw this away. In no way is this a “teething item”.

It can in fact caused the underlying permanent teeth to impact into jaw bone and/or crack them. The surgery is very expensive. Plus your dog then looses teeth. Please write your manufacturers and ask that they should not sell this type plastic for dogs.

This chew toy is SOLID. I can’t imagine a teething puppy would be able to crack through it. It’s maybe a bit too much for a smaller pup, but my mini doodle puppy has enjoyed it since she was about 9 weeks old.

I did take it away for a few weeks just because I thought it might be too much for her. To increase her excitement around this toy and others like it, I recommend pulling the blue circle flat across the floor so the yellow connecting ring spins.

The movement makes it more interesting and fun for pups.

I bought this to replace other hard nylon chews for my dog to have under supervision and he was obsessed with it over a full hour. He didn’t manage to chew any small pieces off, but there are some tears along the middle grooves that I know will eventually break off.

This is a much safer chew toy compared to the harder Benebones/Nylabones as dogs can’t crack a tooth or make their gums bleed after chewing on it for a while. Once this one gets a bit more beaten up, I’ll likely buy the larger size to see if that can prolong its usability for my medium sized dog.

As for improvements – I REALLY wish Kong would make a version of this toy using their extreme/black rubber like they do for puppies. The design of the toy does a good job at stimulating the teeth and gums, and I think the stronger rubber would be a significant improvement for many dogs.

It doesn’t need to be indestructible (no toy ever is) but as my dog will happily chew on his classic/red rubber kong without it tearing, it’s not like I bought the wrong durability option.

My puppy loves this rubber chew toy. She loves the way it unpredictably bounces. She is not an aggressive chewer, but she is a constant chewer. She is currently teething and this rubber toy is one of her “go to” favorite toys.

I didn’t read the description of the toy close enough to realize that it comes in both pink and blue, and the color is randomly chosen. I thought I ordered pink, but received blue. That is when I re-read the description and realized that I’m an idiot.

Although, it is probably good that I didn’t originally see that the color is random because then I most likely would not have ordered it, and my puppy would have missed out. I whole-heartedly recommend this chew toy for puppies, especially small, non-aggressive chewers.

Well, it’s a kong toy, so I figured it would hold up to my year old pup’s attempt to destroy anything handed to him. Unfortunately, he had chunks torn off of this within 10 minutes. If you have a dog who just carries toys around, or licks treats out of the nooks of stuff like this, then maybe this is fine.

But if you have a dog who chews, especially if trying to get at the treat you hide inside, then get ready for little bits of red rubber (or whatever the toy is made of) to litter your floor. And, if you have a dog who’s a walking intestinal blockage waiting to happen like mine, then get ready to pry their jaws open to retrieve the little pieces before paying your vet to.

I have a 14 week old Scottish Terrier puppy named Layla. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a puppy so I wanted to make sure I helped Layla with her teething. I randomly purchased Good Lovin’ No Rawhide Pumpkin Flavored Teething Rings.

It was an “excellent” choice. Layla loves these teething rings. I’ve ordered them online and at PetCo. She looks forward to receiving a ring and they keep her from chewing on other items. plus these Pumpkin rings are very healthy for her.

my sweet 3 month old yorkie just began chewing everything recently and these have saved my sanity! He is pretty small (5lbs), so I cut them into 3 or 4 pieces and he will get 1 or 2 pieces a day. These seem to soothe his teething and keep his attention for 10-20 minutes (longer if I gave him a whole ring, I’m sure).

We have not seen any digestive issues like we do with some other chewy treats.

Dog LOVES these things. Perfect for giving when all she wants to do is bite fingers also. She will not be distracted when she has a pumpkin ring. I literally have to buy more, Our fav thing to give when we will be gone from the house for a while to distract her.

I originally bought these for my new dog because a worker at the pet store suggested them. I thought these would be cute for my little guy so why not give them a try, however he didn’t play with them at all.

I tried to get him interested by using them when we were together as well as by himself but nothing. I then got another puppy a year and a half later so I thought why not give it another try, after all this was a different dog.

The funny thing is no matter what I tried my new dog didn’t want anything to do with them either. He surprised me the most being that he will play with just about ANYTHING!Even though it did not work for me and my dogs I can’t say that someone else wouldn’t have better luck.

Each dog is different and it seems that one toy my dogs really like other dogs hate. I however will not purchase these again. (I should mention that I have worked with dogs for over 20 years in all aspects including kennel work, breeding, grooming, training and even working at a veterinarian’s office.

I was super excited when I FINALLY found a large Nylabone toy with puppy teething material. Large puppy parents can understand the struggle! I have a male standard poodle puppy and he’s just growing so quickly that small, normal puppy-sized toys are just too small.

He seemed to like this, but he mostly chewed on the hard plastic ring, not the keys. After about a month or so, he one day decided to chew on the keys and easily a chunk came off. He was never attached to this toy, but I’ll be throwing it away since now I know he can tear chunks off of it and swallow them.

I will say that for some reason my dog doesn’t seem to like Nylabone products (after me buying several I’ve noticed a pattern) and I think it must be the material that the puppy teething stuff is made of.

So if your puppy doesn’t like a Nylabone, I would probably just buy other brands because changing the flavor and style of the toy hasn’t seemed to have an effect on my dog’s preferences.

My little guy Rascal (Boston Terriorist) loves this toy. At about 5-6 months we got the first one. Now he is one year old and just got a new one. Great excitement around the homestead! However, he is forced to share with Old Dog Emma (also Boston) , because she was The Queen before he was ever thought of! She lost her litter mate sister at 12 years old, and was not real crazy about our new Boy Dog.

But she came to see that resistance was futile. She shares with him. He whines until she finally gives in. Sometimes they play ‘keep away. ‘.

My pup loves these so we will be keeping them to finish the bag as occasional treats; however, these are not at all useful for a teething puppy. They pretty immediately dissolve into sticky mush once they contact saliva so it takes my light chewer about 30 seconds to eat a whole stick.

They don’t last long enough at all to be called “teething treats. ” Just get some bully sticks instead. They’re actually long lasting and great for teething.

I have a 4 month old Yorkie female who chews on everything. The biggest problem is however, that she loses interest very fast with pretty much every toy and chew we got her. She will play for about 5-10 minutes tops and lose interest then move onto chewing on me! These are the only thing that keep her busy for hours.

I honestly think she would keep chewing until it’s gone if I let her. I ordered the pack of 3 to test the waters bc a previous pumpkin teething chew I got her gave her horrible diarrhea. She seems to love pumpkin and these don’t give her a bad reaction and they keep her busy for hours.

I would say if your dog likes pumpkin definitely try these out. But if your dog isn’t a pumpkin fan, maybe pass. The only downside is Bubbles went through these really fast. Like I’m talking less than a day for each.

I ordered both the chicken and pumpkin flavors for my new puppy, since she’s teething and I wanted a variety of things for her to chew on. At first she couldn’t have cared less about these rings. until I accidentally stepped on it and broke it into 2 pieces.

Now that they’re easier for her to pick up and chew, she loves them (as well as my roomies dog) I’m now going to order all the flavors for her to try. They also leave her breath very fresh and last a decent amount of time, keeping her occupied from doing anything destructive.

They’re easy to store in any room of the house and I even keep one in the car. Great product for teething puppies.

Disappointed. These contain Red 40 and the ingredients are misrepresented on Chewy. The product received is not as advertised. My dog doesn’t care what color his treats are, but I do care about giving him a toxic chemical, staining his beard, AND my carpet/furniture.

We got this water fountain because our youngest cat who just turned 1 is also our biggest and dumbest lol, and he is OBSESSED with running water and also the filters in the water bowls. We had a plastic one that he kept knocking over, spilling water Everywhere, and then playing with the spongy filter around the house!! So bad lol.

So we needed a heavy water fountain and this is perfect! He did try to tip this over for the first few weeks, but was unsuccessful and now just drinks out of it! Although the younger two were scared of it at first, all of them drink out of it no problem! We do have to top it off at least once a day, but we also have 3 cats sooo Planning to eventually buy another, we just have to figure out where we can fit it upstairs and find a big enough mat the cats can’t chew up so if the water does spill it’s fine!.

Our 12 week old puppy (springer spaniel? Spaniel mix? We’re not sure) absolutely LOVES these things. He loves them so much that when he sees the bag, he cries pitifully if we don’t give it to him quickly enough.

Nothing else matters when he has a teething ring. The first time we gave him one, we gave him the whole thing at once and because he’s a glutton, he tried to eat the entire thing in one sitting. Since then we’ve broken them into thirds for a more reasonable sized treat.

9 week old Siberian Husky. You know the drill, chewing, biting, must put every single thing in their mouths. They have an attention span that lasts 3 seconds. But these things here are amazing. She actually sat there and chewed on one of these for an hour straight.

Eventually she had small chunks breaking off and I kept an eye on that so she wouldn’t choke on a large piece. I am used to senior huskies so this puppy is definitely a lot of work, but these chews are fabulous for keeping them entertained for awhile.

We have a French Mastiff who goes from one moment thinking she’s a puppy to being and old senile grandma dog who is super sensitive. Her teeth see, to be more fragile these days so we thought the puppy teething ring was a good idea and she loves peanut butter.

I smelled the product myself and was kinda impressed with the smell. It smelled kind of sweet. JAZMINE grabbed her treat and ran off into her dog house to enjoy it. She loved the flavor, it was not too hard on her teeth and kept her occupied for a whole 3 minutes.

The bag comes with 10 rings and it’s re-closable. Overall a nice treat for both puppies and mature dogs.

My puppy is about 2 1/2 months old and he loves these. They work great to get him to calm down and settle into one spot. Only issue is that he eats it so fast, the calm doesn’t last long. I was nervous about the price at first (what if I bought them and he didn’t even like them).

I gave him a whole ring the first time and it basically just disappeared. The next time I tried to give him one, he would barely touch it. He must have been full or maybe he wasn’t feeling good, because now every time I hold one up, he immediately calms down and sits to wait for it.

I only give him half of one at a time. They are great to keep him busy when in his kennel. I just hold it up and say “kennel” and he knows where to go to get it. Definitely recommend it.

My 2. 5 yo Wolfhound X loves these bones, she chews them for about half an hour each time and comes back to this chew toy 5-6 times per day. They last her a long time as she just chews the ends. We have bought her a new one for when she is cage resting after cruciate surgery to reduce bordem.

My dog won’t touch this thing and he loves to chew. He’s not allowed any more bones or antlers because he broke a few teeth. I hoped this would be a good substitute for him to chew but he isn’t interested at all.

Love this product & so does Billy. He can chew it indoors without making a mess. Perfect for when the weather outside is not great.

Dog I bought the bone for: Spaniel/terrier mix, 30lbs, 4 yrs old My pup has really sensitive teeth (has dental work soon) and every nylabone/nylabone knockoff she has eventually makes her gums bleed.

She can chew on this bone the longest without making her gums bleed. She does chew it into small pieces but she is the kind of dog that just leaves the plastic be. Some of her doggy pals have tried her bone and they always try to eat the little pieces that break off.

And depending on the dog, these pieces can be pretty big. So if you have the kind of dog that swallows things they shouldn’t, this isn’t for you!! It’s a bit annoying to find little piles of plastic discards throughout the house, but this is still my favorite bone for my dog.

Bits of plastic after an hour of chewing are way better than having to take away a harder bone after 5 min because her gums bleed. Seriously – this is the only non-edible chew that I give my dog and she loved them so much.

My dog loves chewing bones, especially nylabones, but cracked both of his back molars from chewing and had to have them removed. To be safe, we had to take away all of his hard nylabones so he doesn’t crack anymore.

I bought him this flexichew and some rubber chews, and this is his new favorite. I even have to take it away from him because he chews it for so long. It’s held up pretty well, almost as good as the hard nylabones which was a surprise.

I wish nylabone made more flavors in their flexichews. This is the only one I can find in the medium or large size. Hoping they add more flavors and sizes to the flexichews soon!.

My Pug puppy won’t touch them at all (12 pugs over 30 yrs). I’ve bought at least 15 bones at different times of year, different flavors, different stores, rinsed them, stored them in dry dog food for a couple days, dabbed with a tiny amount of bacon fat and can dog food everything people have suggested to do.

It has kind of become a quest lol! I keep trying to think of what to do. I always use a freshly bought bone each time also different flavors, size and shapes. I never wash with soap. I just keep hoping maybe a different dog or age might make them like them.

NOPE! Not one flavour, dog or at any age. I’ve had other people give them to my dogs and at different places. Maybe a pug thing? 🙁 I welcome any advice.

I really like the product and so does my 8 month old. It’s small enough to be held and chewed on. Some tethers are way too big and bulky and impossible to chew on but this one is perfect. It does the job.

It’s easy to wash as well and hold up well. They have great designs. I’m considering getting another one.

This was my babies first choice of teether. It was the only one that she could hold with both hands and bring to her mouth easily to chew on. Some of her other teethers are still more difficult for her to hold.

She is four months. This one was very easy for her to grasp and enjoy. She still enjoys it now!.

We have a large variety of teething toys at our house, but Bella Tunno teethers are by far our favorite! They are easy for my five-month-old to grip and the round ridges feel good on her sore gums. The fact that they all come with fun and/or inspirational messages is a huge added bonus!.
