This thermostat was for a friend who was impressed with the one I had purchased and used for the past 2 years. I bought the first one to control the small electric heater in my camper. It cycles my small portable heater perfectly.

No more waking up at night to turn it on or off. My friend wanted one for the same purpose. I have never used it for cooling nor have I used the programming feature. Works best with a short heavy appliance cord to get it away from the wall and let it hang over the edge of the counter to better sense space temperature.

This is an innovative plug-in thermostat that brings energy-saving and convenience to a portable heater or room air conditioner. Here’s how it works: Instead of plugging your heater or room air conditioner directly into an electrical outlet, you plug this thermostat into the outlet, and then plug your heater or air conditioner into the outlet on the front of the thermostat.

Then, the thermostat will cycle your heater or air conditioner on or off in response to your programmed settings — just like a central system. This thermostat provides for both weekend and weekday programs, with up to four different settings per day.

Anyone who has used a programmable thermostat on a central heating or air conditioning system knows the advantage of this: You can pre-set the house to warm up or cool down before you wake up, then use a higher or lower setting during the day when no one is home, followed by an automatic re-adjustment so the house is comfortable when you get home from work.

Finally, the thermostat can automatically set the thermostat up or down at night, while you sleep, to save energy then. This thermostat works in exactly the same way, allowing you to give all of these functions to a room heater or air conditioner.

The primary advantage is that you have a digital thermostat controlling the heating and cooling, so you will no longer waste energy by just leaving a room heater or air conditioner running constantly.

Second, you can use it specialized areas of the house, such as a room that is always a little cold: Plug a heater into the thermostat, set it at a moderate value for the daytime, such as 68, and the heater will run just enough to take the chill off of this room.

If the room stays warm enough, the heater will never come on. At night, when no one will be occupying the room, set it back to 50 so the heater will never run. You could also use it for “fail-safe” heating backup when you’re away from home: Get a few of these, plug heaters into them, and set them to hold 45 degrees F.

Normally, the heaters will never run, but if your central heating system fails, these heaters will come on and keep your house at 45 degrees, so things don’t freeze. You can also use this to control a window fan: Just plug a fan into the unit instead of a heater or air conditioner, and the thermostat will run the fan to exhaust hot air whenever the room exceeds your pre-set temperature.

One suggestion: If using this to control an air conditioner, buy an air conditioner with manual, dial-type controls. Electronically-controlled air conditioners (such as those with digital thermostats and remote controls) may not work with this thermostat because it controls devices by interrupting and restoring power.

If you interrupt power to an electronically-controlled window a/c, often it will not come back on when power is restored until you turn it on with its own power switch. This is actually a plus: Instead of paying extra for a digital-control a/c, just get a cheaper one with manual controls.

I have two of these thermostats, and will be buying at least one more. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I’ve owned one of these for years and have used it for several applications. I originally bought it to turn off a “whole house” fan at night when the temperature dropped to 72 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent the house from getting too cold.

Then I used it to control the temperature of a faux fireplace to keep the master bedroom at a comfortable temperature. Now I use it to control when to turn on/off a heat pad that we keep outside on the porch for our cat.

It has lasted me for many years.

Just got to install it in chicken house. Once there was a cold enough night, I can see it had turned on when it was 30 deg outside. Used it to be a temperature switch for a crude homemade heater for the chicken water.

Hope it holds up. My rating is based on a single night’s observation. I have seen some reviews bashing these as not working properly or failing in a short time. Hope I do not have that experience. But, so far, so good.

UPDATE: It is Dec 2021 and still working perfectly. Since it is used to turn a 60W lightbulb on & off for the water heater, I can clearly see it working day or night as the outside temps raise & fall.

My wife has an extensive collection of succulents that she grows in pots that are very sensitive to temperatures below freezing. Here in Tucson we can have as many as thirty nights where temperatures dip below 32.

I rig strands of C-7 Xmas bulbs through the plants, put them under frames covered with frost cloth, and connect to the Thermo Cube. When it gets cold at night the lights come on automatically. Enough heat is generated to protect the plants and I don’t have to guess if it will freeze and then manually plug in the lights.

The Thermo Cube not only protects the plants, it saves marriages. A happy wife means a happy life !This lighting-heating system has saved our potted plants when the overnight low dipped to 18 degrees.

We received our TC-3 switch today and began testing in our lab to ensure operability before installing. This unit is inoperative. It works, but does not activate until it reaches 21 degrees F. The switch should activate at 35 degrees F as advertised.

In addition, the switch turns off at approximately 55 degrees F when in fact, it should turn off at 45 degrees F. We want our money back or a proven switch that works and that we can depend on to safeguard a $1000 pump in our pump house.

The thermostat control function works well. This is my second unit. The internal relay contacts are rated at 10 amp at 120VAC; there is a similar unit available with the contacts rated at 15 amps. Setting the temperatures takes a bit of time and thought; I note that the listing information is very limited.

In the past, the listing provided all the setup info and hence there were no challenges or surprises when one received the unit. Now it appears one has to find the unit on YouTube to learn how to operate it.

The unit does come with written instructions which in the past were posted with the listing. The controller appears to be well built and as it is my second unit, I guess I regard it as a good product.

yes it has maintained the heat on my closed in deck better then the thermostat on the heater itself. by pluging the heater into the unit and setting the easy to use digital controls it has been working around the clock over two weeks without a hitch.

it most certainly will save money on elect. over time it will have paid for itself. these type of devices in this design should have been here many years ago. they can be used to control many appliances for heating and cooling etc.

within rated wattage. if you understand the concept you will love them. i at this time highly recomend them for room heating and cooling, and attic fans. this is my personal experince. over 40 years working with electrical controls.

i feel safe with this device. check it out. i don`t think you will go wrong. have a pleasent future.

I was not expecting great quality from this watch band, just something that would look nice for occasional wear. However, the minute I took it from the packaging the band fell apart from the frame. The locking mechanism on the small pin that holds the band on fell out at the slightest touch so I never got to wear it.

The band seems very light weight and cheaply made. Before unpacking it, I had been impressed by the inclusion of a gadget to resize the band and links to an instructional video, however I didn’t get to try it.

I needed a thermostat switch to heat an insulated cuntainer about 1/3 m/square using a hologin globe as heatying element and opted for this one. It is working very well and seems to be long lasting compared to many others I was using that seem to go faulty and or burn out in the past.

the temferature cut in and out works very well too. The only fault I found is fhe setting instruction is not very easy to understand and missing the fact that every setting has to individually be locked by pressing tha set button again and holding before moving to the next setting.

this is not explained at all in the instructions. all else it O. K.

This humidity controller is perfect for anyone who has a sensitive humidity range with the dual outlets you can have a humidifier and dehumidifier to really dial in your environment. I have my dehumidifier plumbed to my humidifier so the dehu fills the humidifier.

this item did need small adjusting out of the box. for my measuring equipment i had to subtract 3% in the calibration menu. All in all this is a nice work horse with enough amperage for some serious units.

Not much else to say other than it works well.

I purchased this reciprocating saw as a broken saw. When you pulled the trigger the motor will click but not engage Blade, The reciprocating part of the saw was jammed very badly But I was able to free it up and lubricate and get everything working again.

It works perfectly like a new sawzall all and I am very happy with the purchase. Its likely that it became well at some point and this causes rust to seize up the gear where the saw part moves. I will continue to look for more deals like this one.

I use this thermostat for my dog house heater. I have the thermostat enclosed in a sealed container, which is mounted inside the dog house. Attached to the thermostat is a infrared “Sweeter” heater and on at 38 and off at 50, and with the dog house being insulated, keeps it comfortable and warm for my dog during a long Nebraska winter.

A second thermostat is mounted for my dogs water bowl, which works like a charm.

Works well. Has relatively high wattage capacity, will handle a 1500 watt electrical heater. Turns on power when temp drops to 38 and off again when it rises. Will save water pipes, water well equipment, various other cold sensitive things when coupled with an electric heater, heat lamp, or other heating device.

It was a good buy. The product performed well at the ambient set temperature. More trials are being conducted to get accurate readings. PURPOSE:- This unit will be used to maintain 70 degree F in a closed metal cabinet, when the outside temperature is 45 degree F or lower.

I recommend this device to all, where LiFePo4 cells need to be climate controlled.

I have only used the thermostat controlled outlet for about a week. Seems to work for my application. The temperatures on the dial are tiny and hard to read. The temperature values on the dial are not accurately indexed to actual temperatures as measured by my thermometer.

So I set the thermostat according to my thermometer or by comfort level. It turns on and off by temperature which is what I needed. If the dial had readable temperatures and it matched actual temperatures in the room I would have rated it higher.

Well made and simple to use. I used mine to run a circulating fan when the control area requires heat. It seams to have a 3 degree differential from set point and actual desired temperature switch engaging which is well suited for home heating operations.

This thermostat makes the amaze heater work more efficiently and is well worth the money . I just set it to the desired temp and it turns the heater on when the room temp dips below the desired temp.

Great little thermostat for the wall heater in our bathroom at our vacation cabin. We can leave it on a low temp and we know it will keep the bathroom warm but not waste energy.

It is hard to imagine a better bargain for process control. I have been using PID controllers for years and for most applications, you don’t need proportional control. My typical PID with SSR control costs about $300.

This is a less sophisticated controller and is a typical bang-bang controller. The control is referenced for cooling which means if you want to turn on a heater you set the heater turn off temperature in the set point and the heater turn on point in the hysteresis band.

For example, I am using this for my green house where I turn on lights to keep the plants warm. The set point is 42F. At temperatures above 42, the heater is off. The hysteresis band is 2 degrees. Therefore, the lights turn on at 40F.

The quality is very good too. For home projects like green house heaters, this is the ticket!.

So there is no plug and play here. All goes well until you realize that if your router does not automatically work in 2. 4mhz or has the capability of doing 2. 4mhz this will not work. So if router only does 5.

0 u are toast. So now there is a bit of configuration that has to be done to get 2. 4 set up for it to communicate in/out to the App. Am waiting until the weekend when I have time to mess with it and hope it works out.

If not returning. Otherwise its just a really expensive yet accurate thermometer.

Seems to be good quality. It was easy to set up once I got my head wrapped around the set-up concepts. It is installed and ready for use but in my application it has not yet been “used. ” I want it to control an engine block heater in my truck.

It is set to trigger ON when the outdoor temperature dips to 15F or below, and trigger OFF when the outdoor temperature rises to 20F or above. Set point is 20 and the heat differential is 5. So it will trigger on at PV – HD (Process value or set point less Heating Differential or lower, then back OFF at PV or above.

This will prevent rapid cycling as the outdoor temperature fluctuates. The heater cord is plugged into the “Heating” receptacle while the “cooling” receptacle is unused. Since being deployed the outdoor temperature has not yet dipped below 20F.

We shall see how well this works as the winter progresses.

I have these Thermo Cube on 2 fans in my horse barn. When the day warms up the fans turn on. As it cools down in the evening they shut off. Saves energy and wear and tear on the fans having to be turned on before leaving for work.

I love these thermo cubes. I hav had one for three years and just bought two more for myself and one for a friend. It works great in the barn with the Horses so the fans don’t have to run all day when I go to work.

I also use it for a little dog kennel I have. I like that if the weather changes it will turn off if it cools off as well as turns on when it gets hot. Very dependable.

I board my horse at a boarding facility. Since they have a small staff and a large amount of responsibility, everything I can do to make their job easier is appreciated. My horse stays comfortable in his stall due to the fan being on when needed and no guesswork (need or not need!).

He is 29 so his comfort is of upmost importance to me. I have had thermo cube in the past. I wish they would last a little longer than a season or two. but for the price, I guess I can’t complain as it is not so costly that I can’t afford to replace it when needed.

Durability: 3.

1. It is difficult to setup and troubleshoot since some settings are only available on a person’s web account, others only on the phone app, and still others only on the device itself. Why aren’t all settings available in one place, preferably the phone app? 2.

The device display is confusing. It appears to show the heating range but actually it is a combination of the heating and cooling temps in one graphic. This information is not useful. It would be better to have the info in two separate ranges, maybe showing only the applicable range; such as the heating temperature range when the furnace is being used or the cooling temperature range when the air conditioner is being used.

3. Finding answers to questions and problems is difficult. A good source would naturally be a searchable user’s manual available through the app but it is not easy to find or use. I couldn’t figure out why my furnace was overheating the house to 85°F in the middle of the night.

Turns out, an extra sensor accidentally fell into the garbage and was taken out with the trash. Since the Ecobee averages temps among sensors, it was averaging the outside and inside temps and trying to heat up the house since it was cold outside.

I had to figure out this on my own since I couldn’t get assistance online or from the app. Overall this could be a nice piece of equipment but it isn’t terribly user-friendly and help isn’t easy to find.

Pros: 1. Has the usual Honeywell hesitation period like my old T5 when setting the temperature, unlike the Google Nest which on/off equipment immediately as the temperature is being set or mistakenly touched.

2. Has touch screen at the thermostat and can be easily set at the thermostat while google nest has no touch screen. 3. Can control AC rest time, heat/cool cycle per hour. Google nest learning cannot do so and Ecobee asks a premium for it.

4. Backplate is sort of universal. Google’s backplate is not even universal among its own products! 5. Cheaper than Google nest and still has 5G wifi support. 6. Can control the fan without selecting a mode while google requires selecting a mode to run the fan.

Cons: 1. Not easy to buy for home owners, has to go through EBay and then no warranty. (Though I don’t expect it to break. ) 2. Even it is towards contractors and also the flagship model, there are not as many setting as the Ecobee Premium! 3.

The Resideo servers and apps has many trouble and bugs. For example, my internet is backed by UPS, but Resideo says unable to communicate every few days. So Resideo servers are unreliable. The app needs to go to some privacy tracing website which is blocked by my router to set up the account and I need to by pass it, this is really bad.

4. No greenleaf sign to know if I saved yesterday. (Resideo not having enough data?) 5. No “Nest Airwave” like features. 6. No PC end web application, only broken cellphone apps. Thus not computer geek friendly! (Google nest and ecobee have it.

) 7. Unlike Google Nest, does not show which pin it is drawing power from or the voltage and current being drawed.

The T10 Pro thermostat is overall an EXCELLENT Thermostat. It works wells and was easy to set up. However, there appears to be a slight issue with the built-in temperature sensor. It reads about 2 to 3 degree F higher than the actual room temperature.

I have four (4) additional RedLink wifi temperature/humidity sensors linked to the T10 Pro that ALL report the CORRECT room temperature. I have to use one of the remote sensors to get the correct set temperature, in my case one that I mounted on the wall about 12 inches off to the side of the T10 pro itself.

This is an apparently common issue as reported by several online web reviews that one can easily find with a search. They state, as I have experience too, “Some folks have noted the unit (T10 Pro) can get a little warm, which can throw off it’s internal temperature sensor.

This can be resolved by simply setting it to only use the remote room sensors instead. You get one with it, and can add more as you wish. ” Is this an issue that Honeywell/Resido can resolve in a FIRMWARE upgrade to the thermostat.

It seems to be that the (bright) LED lighting might be causing it to get too warm to display the correct temperature? Customer service?.

If you need something to control more advanced systems, this can do pretty much anything. Everything works great so far and their app is alright. This puppy really unlocks when you use something like Home Assistant, though.

Remove Honeywells servers from the equation and you have a perfect setup. Sensors could use a bit more granular control. The fact that active and selected rooms are just averaged out is alright, but being able to set min/max temps for rooms would be nice.

It can be annoying when a bedroom sensor stays active for 30 minutes because you were in there for 30 seconds also. Turning the sensor on low didn’t really help. I think I will point that one at the bed so it’s only active if I’m in the bed.

You can do things like turn motion off on specific sensors though, so it’s not entirely useless. You might see people talking about how Honeywells aren’t great because they lack “swing/deadband” adjustment.

This seems like an older concept that is still lingering, but not really used with the HVAC equipment of today. Honeywell will keep the temp on target without overshooting or letting it get too far out of range before conditioning the air again.

It does this without turning on constantly as long as everything is set up correctly. Couple it with a humidifier and you will be living comfy.

I had previously owned the Honeywell T5 Smart Thermostat and was happy with how it operated for the most part for a number of years. When it started to have some connectivity issues I decided it was time to upgrade.

I debated getting the “Amazon Smart Thermostat” since it was created by Honeywell, and the price was good, but I was swayed over the to the T9 because of some the Amazon Thermostat limitations, and I liked some of the additional features the T9 has.

First off if you are upgrading from any of the Honeywell T-Series thermostats (or the Amazon one for that matter) the wall plate is exactly the same so you just unplug the old one and plug the new one in.

in my house I have a radiant heat boiler for heating, and a forced draft AC. So basically two separate systems for heating a cooling. The T9 not only is able to combine them in a single thermostat, but it is able to understand that the blower fan should not come on when the heater is working.

Also during the set up it verified if it was a hot water or steam heat system. That was a first for any of my thermostats past or present. Setting the thermostat up is pretty straight forward. It connected to my wireless (2,4Ghz) just fine, even though I have a mesh WiFi network, and that is not always the case with many devices that require 2.

4Ghz). It also completed the set up BEFORE it performed a software upgrade. So I did not have a three minute pause in the middle waiting for software updates. I already had the Honeywell home application on my cellphone, so adding the new thermostat to my account was a breeze.

It would have been nice if there was a way to clone my schedule over from the old one, but that is not really a big deal. Overall it works great and looks nice on the wall, and so far I am not having any of the connectivity issues that showed up on the T5.

Other thoughts: – I appreciate that you can use the thermostat to perform a majority of the settings instead of being forced to use the phone app like a lot of other units like the Nest line. Exceptions being things like Geofencing that is tied to the cell phone, or Honeywell account settings.

– The display is bright by default. I mean really bright. I ended up turning my non-active display all the way down to 10% (from 70%) and the sleep mode to 0% at night since there is no reason for it to light up the room after 9:30 at night if you are not interacting with it.

– Alexa works great with the T9, and if you have remote sensors, you ask Alexa the temp in the individual rooms you have them installed. – If you use the remote sensors you can prioritize the heating an cooling a few different ways such as the average temp in you select it to throughout the house, the temp in the room you have sensors if it detects movement, or you can pick one sensor and make it the room that the thermostat uses to manage it’s heating and cooling.

If you have multiple people living in the house, you will need everyone to have the app installed if you want to use Geofencing properly, or else the one phone you have it installed on, will control the home/away mode.

Overall, this smart thermostat works well. With the optional additional temperature sensors that can be placed around the house, I am able to program the thermostat to respond to temperature in different areas of my two story home depending on the time of day.

The upstairs is always warmer than the downstairs, but I can have the control respond to the downstairs temperature during the day and the upstairs temperature at night. I can also program the A/C fan to run on call, intermittently, or continuously – something I was not able to do with my previous smart thermostat.

That helps even out the temperature across the two stories as I transition from day to night. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the interface on the app and on the thermostat itself needs some improvement.

The app always shows the main thermostat on the first screen instead of the sensor that it is using to control the AC. You have to click through two screens to see all the sensors. It has 4 default schedule blocks that you can’t rename (but you can disable), but you can add your own additional schedule blocks.

The thermostat itself shows the set temperature. You have to touch it to see the actual temperature. Otherwise, it works great and has all the standard features of other smart thermostats. Temps reported on the main unit and the sensor seem to be accurate to within 1 degree of a bulb thermometer.

I installed it myself, but had to add the C wire, so it took about an hour overall. I’ve had it a month now, and am satisfied overall. I haven’t tried the geofencing, and so far it’s just been doing cooling (no heating).

I’ve also used the vacation setting, and was able to check on the temperatures in house while I was across the country.

My system: Geothermal Heat Pump with Energy Recovery Ventilator and electric Aux heat This is a very good thermostat, but the reason I can’t give it five stars is because the built in temperature differential (1.

5 degrees F) and cycle rate are not quite adequate for a geothermal system. I appreciate that you can select a geothermal system in the settings, but it seems like the cycle rate is about 3 times per hour when selected.

It should be less. Here’s why: Geothermal systems take a lot of time to heat up/cool down when the system turns on. In heat mode, for instance, it may take 10-12 minutes for the output air to go from 70 degrees to 100 degrees.

If the thermostat only stays on for 7 or 8 minutes, it never achieves maximum efficiency. And no one buys a geothermal system unless they want maximum efficiency. With short cycle times on a geothermal system, you are taking an incredibly efficient and expensive heat pump system and running it at 50% efficiency.

For Geothermal heat pumps, the thermostat should keep the system on for at least 15 minutes. At a minimum, the user should be able to select a higher temperature differential (up to 3. 5 degrees?) manually, or a minimum on or off time, or a lower cycle rate.

This could be a simple software update for existing thermostats. For most systems, the default settings on this thermostat are perfectly sufficient. But for Geothermal, it would be nice to have the option to change them.

That would make the T9 thermostat 5 stars for sure. Please update the software with these options for geothermal heat pumps!.

One difference between the Premium thermostat enhanced thermostat is the air quality monitor. The thermostat is fine. The air quality monitor is mostly useless. TL;DR: save your money, don’t buy the “premium thermostat” for the air quality sensor.

It has two problems: 1) It measures only volatile organic compounds. If you’re astute, you’ll see that ecobee infers CO2 concentration based on an average correlation from human breath or something. This is a fancy way of saying they take one number, and then it multiplies and divides and adds and subtracts to get another number.

(It may be a nonlinear transformation, but it’s still just a deterministic transformation. ) Imagine if Ecobee marketed separate measurements of Fahrenheit and Celcius using “the average correlation between the two measures on the surface of the earth.

” Even if literally true, it’s a fancy way of saying that they derive two numbers from one number. (My day job is a statistician. Most of statistics is to take many numbers and reduce it to fewer numbers.

This is doing the opposite. ) 2) The sensor is a relative sensor. Ecobee admits to this. This in itself is not bad–even your alcohol thermometer that you measure fevers is a relative sensor–the key difference is that your alcohol thermometer is calibrated.

The Ecobee air quality sensor is both not calibrated and worst of all, the calibration changes, so it’s impossible to infer when your house is relatively polluted. What this means in practice is that when I open the window, the sensor shows “Clean” and when I close it, it shows “Poor.

” During humid east coast summers when opening a window would let in a lot of humidity, “Poor” changes into “Fair” into “Clean” over the course of several weeks. If you open a window for a few hours and then close it, it immediately goes back to “Poor.

” Ecobee technical support suggested that I expose the sensor to indoor air pollutants. I’ve done this with all the detergents I could possibly find in my house. Nothing changes. “Poor” air quality stays “Poor.

“.

I really like the Ecobee, but I think its not quite as simple as some people may think it is. It’s very easy to install (in my home at least), the app is intuitive, so is the Ecobee itself. Overall its a nice package, but it does require some fine tuning to make the most of it.

First off, I think a few smart sensors are needed to make the most of it. This comes with one which is really nice, and the Ecobee itself is one. The more sensors you have, the more data points the Ecobee has to determine which rooms are occupied and what temperature the rooms are.

This allows it to factor in the temperature of some rooms and factor out others depending on if they are occupied. The Ecobee itself has this functionality as well, so if its in a good spot this Ecobee is a great option.

If your thermostat is somewhere where occupancy sensors aren’t helpful, I would consider the Ecobee 3 lite. Past that I think its important to play around with schedules, which sensors are used in each schedule, and messing with the Eco+ settings.

After some fine tuning this thermostat can make the house much more comfortable for everyone and can save some energy while its at it. A good example of this was the old thermostat was downstairs and all the bedrooms were upstairs.

The old thermostat would need to be set to 67 to keep the upstairs below 78 during hot summer days, but if you forgot to turn it back up to 71 or so it would cool the entire house to 67, some rooms would get even lower at 64 or less.

The Ecobee has sensors in every room so during the day it makes sure the upstairs stays comfortable, but at night it makes sure rooms don’t get too cold. Its very flexible and with some fine tuning it can be used to optimize comfort and electricity usage in any house.

TLDR: Very good product, buy some additional smart sensors and spend some time fine tuning its schedules and behavior.

I purchased the ecobee smart thermostat with voice control and two extra sensors instead of a nest thermostat because: 1. The software is much more user-friendly due to the constant updates which since February I have been more than 12 making it better and I have not had any problems with bugs of any sort.

When I compare the ecobee software to google moving everyone from Nest App to google home app the ratings on the ecobee app are much higher much more user-friendly than the Google home app instead of Google nest app! 2.

The sensors work on a 900 MHz system which is a low frequency communication between the main thermostat and the sensors so if the Wi-Fi is down the thermostat can operate independently and still communicate with the built-in sensor in the unit of course and then the three sensors I have throughout the house.

Advantage to the 900 MHz frequency in the transmission is that being a low frequency it will go through walls and doors and have a good reception in the far reaches of the house through walls. With the Google nest that you cannot do everything on the thermostat itself so you have to have the app to have complete control of everything available.

The ecobee thermostat also can operate as a standalone in the event of no Wi-Fi available and you can do everything on the thermostat and more than you can do on the app, contractor settings are also available on the thermostat itself when I research the nest top-of-the-line thermostat if you didn’t have Wi-Fi and software control from your phone you could not do everything on the thermostat itself.

4. I also like the integration on ecobee with Alexa and then Apple if you want to use it. 5. After three months of using the ecobee system with three sensors off unit total I have no cons against my house it has been a great system and very reliable and virtually bug free, at least in the no bugs I haven’t run into over three months.

1 Minimum off-time – Don’t be fooled. If you set this to 15 minutes minimum off time and your set point is reached first, your AC will run. So if you buy this to overcome short cycling on down time due to poor home insulation etc.

it probably won’t work in our south Texas heat like you want it to or like the wording or advertisement says. 2 Use to dehumidify – doesn’t do much as that’s a big part of your air conditioners job anyhow.

Maybe in a low temp high humidity environment. The jury is still out on my decision to keep this thermostat or return it. I could have gotten a much cheaper product to address short cycle issues on the cooling side that would not have created near the headaches and research I’ve endured just to use this product which does had remote room smart sensors as well.

They seem to do as they are billed as. Appears to be fairly well made. Mounting backplate and contact lugs are cheaply made so be careful installing. It’s easy to install but you better know how to set this thing up correctly.

The scheduling is atrocious. Have not even attempted to use it as of yet but not near as straight forward as most other thermostats. Originally purchased to overcome short cycle on the cooling side as I have an oversized unit.

It does fit that bill at the present time. Most online data reports are unavailable until 15 days after a full calendar month after online registration. Install April 2, data will be available June 15.

Downloaded data that is available is all in seconds so if you want to make heads or tails of it you’ll be in Excel quite a bit. There is also a known firmware issue where temperatures can appear in decimal format but the thermostat reads in whole numbers.

The fix is supposedly pending but mot a big issue. I could go on but most of this is either nuisance issues or lack of a standardized and/or well written user manual so you will be using SUPPORT quite a bit.

Support is hit and miss depending on the person that fields the call. I give this an Average product rating because there are cheaper alternatives that in retrospect will do most of what this thing does.

I can’t recommend not buying because it does work. Just not how it’s advertised. Ease of use only gets 4 stars now because I’ve spoke to Support enough to di what I personally want to. Easy to install but not easy to understand or use without help.

Because I really like them, this is my second LuxPRO PSD010BF. The first one was used to replace the analog thermostat in a pop-up tent trailer which had about 7 (or more) temperature swing between turning the furnace on and shutting off.

The LuxPRO adjusted that swing to about 1-2 swing, which helps keep a more constant comfortable temperature, uses less battery and propane to work the furnace. This second thermostat is replacing the analog thermostat in our new travel trailer.

Super pleased with this model as I was looking for the smallest digital thermostat footprint. It’s also nice because it shows what the current room (camper) temp is and illuminates when a button is pushed, which is excellent at night.

Super easy and obvious to turn it on and off or auto, really takes the guesswork out of operating it.

Good value. Easy to install. Works and looks good. Max temp setting is a nice feature. Hard to find battery-powered thermostats anymore. We have a few of these to operate overhead gas heaters in our gym.

I bought this as a replacement for an old Honeywell round mercury thermostat that went bad. Have used for two months. Its being used as a heat only unit. Basically I needed a little zone thermostat to turn off and on accurately when heat was called for.

This is exactly that. The accuracy is within. 5 degrees. I compared it against a thermopro thermometer for about a week. When set at 67 it holds it very close and the display reads either 67 or 68. The other thermometer confirmed that.

The bottom line is-Temp is even and performs very well. A good value for the price. 5 stars.

Easy to program. Blends into the wall you cannot notice it is there. Keeps very accurate temperature, and keeps the window A/C from short cycling as it is not in the path of the air discharge which is common on small A/C’s with low air flow.

With the unit in the receptacle down low in you have to stoop to see the display. Hard to read. BEWARE You will need a A/C or heater that will return to its previous setting if power is removed from it.

Unplug your unit and wait 2 minutes then plug back in. If you have to reset the unit temperature or turn unit back on then this product will not work for that appliance. Otherwise a very good product.

I use them in the summer to control the air conditioners and in the winter to control space heaters and they work great. The units they control keep the rooms @ almost a constant temp. I use them to set the temp.

back 10 degrees @ night which is the main reason I use them.

Bought this to use with a wall panel heater. It is about 3 feet away from the heater and works well. I have a separate temperature gauge across the room to verify the room temp. This unit activates/deactivates the heating panel within 2 degrees of accuracy of the independent temp gauge that sits 9 feet away.

That’s pretty accurate. The set-up was simple and now just sits there and operates as it was programmed to. Very pleased.

I builded a solar panel with soda can, the thermostat start the fan when the air is warming and stop it when the sun set. Work perfectly. I don’t use the program. My daughter was using it with a heater, she program the thing and if it was warm enough the Heater didn’t start, if the temperature were going lower when she was gone it start the heater to keep the minimum temperature programed.

We have used another pass-through thermostat like this that had a remote and it ate batteries at a rapid rate and then stopped working as soon as the remote control batteries died. I use these to control parts of a heating system in buildings that are unoccupied for weeks or months.

I need something that I don’ have to watch all the time.

Bought Ecobee 4 with smart sensor 2 years ago with an additional room sensor so that I could use room sensor to regulate by the temp of the bedroom at night and the hall mounted ecobee sensor to regulate temp during the day.

It took multiple calls to tech support over a year to figure out an obtuse workaround of a frustrating bug that engineering would not fix. The bug: If you set up a simple day/night schedule and are in bed at night and want to give a verbal Alexa command to raise the temperature of the room based on the currently properly functioning room sensor, it properly changes the temperature setpoint but at the same time, it switches control to the hall sensor defeating the desire to just continue to use the new setpoint with the room temperature sensor doing the sensing.

so yo could find yourself asking for a 1 deg temperature increase and ending up with a 2 degree decrease in the room because the bug switched control to the hall sensor. Instead of fixing it after our numerous requests, A year later we were told to create a third mode called “new day” and use “Day” for only 30 minutes and new day for the rest of the day.

It works but it is hardly intuitive to implement. The other issue is equally frustrating. the IQ screen of the online app has a great screen of graphs that you can pan and scroll to see historical graphs of indoor and outdoor temp, HVAC on time and temp set point.

But if you have the added a room temp sensor, you cant see the hall Ecobee temperature and the room sensor temp on separate graphs. They are simply averaged together to “indoor temp”. So the graph/data you see is neither the room temperature or the hall temperature.

I guess the graph would be representative of the temperature of the inside of the wall between the bedroom and the hall. What use would anyone have for a graph of the temperature of the inside of a wall? We bought a room sensor because the areas have enough disparity in environment to warrant separate sensing and control at different times of the day.

So we want to know the temperature of both of the areas with separate traces on the graph. So if you want an accurate indoor temperature graph on the IQ screen, don’t buy or turn on the room sensor because the indoor temperature graph gets tainted by the averaging of the 2 sensors and means nothing unless you live inside the wall.

I requested regularly that this be fixed by adding a separate trace for the room sensor but I have been told that it is up to engineering. Tech support guys (smartly) agree that it is pretty dumb to be just showing an average if someone had gone to the trouble of buying the extra sensor and trying to understand what is going on in the 2 areas.

But there is nothing they can do to get is done. to show an extra graph trace for the second sensor. So good luck trying to verify that the second sensor is really working or working well (following the setpoint) unless you want to take readings with a separate thermometer and graph them.

I am hoping Ecobee will fix these issues but I am looking for another solution or an open source thermostat solution so I can be sure to make it work sensibly. When I find it, I will post the video of using the Ecobee as a target at the skeet range Ecobee works fine if you are not using room sensors.

But don’t have high expectations of a fix if you find a bug or something that does not work sensibly.

We moved into our new build in December. When the weather got hot a couple months ago, we noticed the AC would turn on and then turn off repeatedly, in 5 minute intervals. It seemed the thermostat was installed in a poor location, which caused it to cool down too quickly and then heat up quickly after the AC turned off.

After several weeks of troubleshooting we finally tried the ecobee. I bought a couple extra sensors and deployed them throughout the house, and used the clever feature that allowed me to set the thermostat to ignore its own temperature, and only use the readings from the sensors.

Since then, our AC has run properly and our house temperature is much more consistent. I had an ecobee in our old house, so I already knew about its other clever features. In my opinion, this is the best thermostat on the market today.

First off the geo-fencing works sporadically. At times I’m home for over an hour and it still says “away and holding” and I’ve got the home zone set at 5 kilometers. At other times I check on it hours later when I’m at work 15 miles away ant it says “home and holding”.

Then numerous times I open the app and it goes into the setup screen as if it’s the first time I’m using it and it gets stuck there until I force stop the app several times. Another annoyance is when I lower the cooling temperature by one degree it immediately tells you that suddenly it’s one degree cooler so the AC won’t turn on, in turn I have to lower it by 2 degrees so that the AC starts to cool but then it gets too cold.

No I wouldn’t buy it again or recommend it to anyone much less a friend. I don’t have any experience with the Nest thermostat but next time I’m going with that. I figure it can’t be any worse than this overpriced trash.

I bought this to control a 3000W item and after purchasing I realised they only go up to 10 amps or about 2200 watts which will power most devices but not all devices. It was too late and I’d already bought.

Once I received it I found that it was very difficult to set the thermostat and the settings weren’t being retained after powering off which doesn’t suit long term use in the event a power outage causes the settings to clear.

Being so hard to set, once the settings clear and a long time has passed since it was last set, you might even need the instructions handy to reset it to your desired temp. This is OK for a supervised device but I wanted to control an unsupervised device and was attached to the large display as I also have CCTV on the device so I hoped I’d see the temp through the CCTV so that was my main reason for buying this item and the temp control was about frost control and turning on a backup heater if needed.

The seller said it should retain settings after powering off so it’s possible I got a faulty one. My main reason for posting this review is that everyone else is positive 5 stars, but nobody mentioned this is a medium 10A use and not a high power 16A use which is common in the UK but 10A is common in the rest of the EU so check your applications need before buying.

This device allows for precise temperature control, either heating or cooling through a VERY wide range of temperatures. You can choose the heating or cooling differential also (for example if you want to heat to 70 fahrenheit, you can digitally program the device to activate the heating circuit at any desired amount below that temperature, and vice versa for cooling.

If you wanted to turn a heater on at 60f, you would set the target temp to 70 and heating differential to 10. ) I’m using it to control an electric heater to keep a room at 35 degrees fahrenheit to keep a tank full of water from freezing during winter.

It would also work great for a chest freezer to refrigerator conversion, if you are using AC power. This device has many setting capabilities, and also you can choose fahrenheit or Celcius. Excellent product with endless uses.

I have only had mine for a couple of weeks but its working great. A bonus is the display always shows the current temperature at the probe, so even if its not in use, you can use it as a thermometer.
