The tent is great. Didn’t leak through rain storm and 16 mile an hour winds no problem. The only thing is there was no place to hang a light. Door you have to be careful of catching your foot because of door shape.

Does not at all fit 8 people. Does pop up though. Great for a couple

Great, great tent. Incredibly easy intuitive to set up. I have camped in rain storms and had water flowing under the tent with no ground tarp and everything stayed dry; great bathtub (was very impressed as I thought my stuff would be wet for sure).

I have not experienced extreme wind but tent held up very well in strong winds. The Dark Room technology stuff is true – it really stays dark in there even when there is light out. Mind you, it’s not a photography dark room.

but yes it’s dark enough to sleep in accidentally. SUPER roomy inside. Easy to put away and handy little carrying bag. Great tent for car camping or short portage or backpacking trips. I fit 2 sleeping bags, this tent, cookware and some other stuff in my 85L portage bag.

I was pretty cold at night with an older 0 degree bag and this tent when temperatures dropped below 0 degrees but haven’t tried another brand in extreme cold to compare. If your goal is to portage and do single trips, you may want to find a smaller tent but if you don’t mind the extra 2-8 lbs and the odd double carry, this tent is luxurious in the backcountry.

I just prefer a smaller tent for longer portage trips that will also take up less volume in my pack – this is self preference and nothing against product.

We bought this for our first camping trip for us and our 4 year old. You can’t depend on perfect weather while camping so I was sold on the “storm proof” claims for wind and rain. The first night was fine, it rained a little and everything was fine.

It was totally dark in the tent as the sun came up which helped our kid sleep a little longer. The next day, the wind picked up to 20mph (claims it can handle 35mph) and it completely ruined the tent! At least 4 large rips in the seams and the rain fly has multiple holes in it too, including where the rope ties to the stake to keep it down.

Also the zipper is GARBAGE, constantly snagging and was so hard to open and close because it would just get stuck. Super disappointing that a name brand for camping gear would produce such a bad product that fell apart after one use.

Pros: – really dark in the daylight – person 6ft and under can stand up fine – it felt roomy with a queen size matress in it Cons: -can’t handle wind, will literally rip at the seams – probably couldn’t handle rain because wind causes holes in the rain fly – zipper will cause extreme frustration.

You have to use 2 hands on the zipper door, inside and out. The zipper does not move with one hand, and it gets caught in the rain flap. Maybe it’s just me, but camping with children, you rarely enter/exit a tent with both hands free.

Seems you always have something in one hand, clothes, flashlight, shoes, etc. Having to put down whatever you are carrying made me think about my last tent that we wore out, it was a one hand zipper, always.

The Skydome tent we have has an led rope with control box. The LED rope goes through a skinny sleeve at the inside front of the tent. There is a pocket sewn to hold the control box, but it is on the opposite side of the door zippers.

Like having your room light switch on the opposite side of the door opening. It’s just awkward. The Skydome feature is not a good feature to have when looking for an all around tent. If you put the rainfly on, which you have to, to have any privacy at a camp ground, then there is zero airflow through the tent.

The only opening you can have is the half moon on the door. To get more airflow, we pulled back one corner of the rain fly every day. The other problem with skydome is the whole top 1/3 of the tent is screen.

If you camp anywhere with wind and dust, then it blows dirt right up the rainfly, through the mesh top, and all over your bedding and belongings. Last, the poles are permanently attached to the tent, and instructions say to roll the tent up around the folded poles.

The poles are the exact length of the storage bag. With the bulk of the tent and rainfly, and poles in the middle of the tent, the storage bag zipper is extremely tight and feels like it will fail in a few uses.

Background: I went to Cabela’s a long time ago and saw this tent and decided I wanted it for Christmas and I got it. My parents spent about three hundred dollars, so I can’t say it was worth every penny since it wasn’t my money, but I would spend three hundred dollars on it if I had to.

And I think you should too. When I got it for Christmas I was in cub scouts, maybe a few years before Webelos. I’m writing this review as almost an Eagle. So I’ve had it for years, more than 6. Review: This tent is efficient, effective, and extremely comfortable.

It takes anywhere from 2mins to 40secs to set up and it is not difficult to put away. The tent is very comfortable, it keeps you off the ground and it doesn’t even need a sleep pad. You can run it with a blanket, poncho liner, or even a sleeping bag.

The tent is also very light for it’s size and girth. The rain cover keeps the rain out, the poles are practically unbreakable, and the fabric can withstand high winds, even hail. Story: I decided to write this well deserved post be just 10mins ago after coming back from the worst campout ever.

I was up in northern Missouri and saying it was windy had to have been an understatement. It was like 40mph and sunny. Until it decided to go to around 60mph and raining and hailing. Everyone’s tents got ripped out of the ground and sent airborne, poles shattered, and fabric ripped.

Everyone his in cars. The trucks and trailer got stuck in mud up to the floor and then it got stuck in the gravel, everyone was wet, muddy, and miserable. All of this happened while I was doing one thing.

Sleeping in my tent. All of the tents were destroyed, probably a thousand dollars worth of damages overall. And this tent cot survived through it, (even though I was scared it was gonna finally break, it didn’t), kept me warm, and wasn’t even scratched.

The tent was hit hard and shaken but is still standing. Which is incredible considering how old it is and how many campouts it’s been on. Best tent ever. Problems with it: It hasn’t been an issue yet, but I would like a way to steak it to the ground, (just in case).

The tent when it’s packed is kind of bulky. Overall is recommended for your run of the mill camping.

Two years now. Short and sweet. Live in Arizona, use in Arizona. Low humidity here right? It sweats. Older fellow, 70’s, not for the weak, it is heavy and awkward. It is to low for me. I roll out on the groung to get up.

Check the size of your trunk. If it is raining stay in bed, or get dressed on your back. You still need a bulky bag to sleep in. Now the good. The zippers work, and you can take your dog to bed with you.

Call it “special needs equipment “. Just get a tent. Grumpy old man.

I freaking hate this tent! First off I’m over 6 ft so right away this tent is way to small for me but if you’re 6 and under this might be a good choice for you. Second it’s heavy as hell. No way you’re taking this and your gear deep in the woods and camping it would be better to drive to the beach and set it up there.

Last because the tent is so small I get a ton of condensation and wake up soaked by 4am. It’s easy as hell to set up though. Great for kids I would say or a small think adult.

Just got back from our first trip with this tent. One night, car camping. We’re two young, moderately experienced campers/backpackers. This was the first tent we’ve bought (others have always been borrowed).

Overall, the tent worked out great for this trip. It took all of 5ish minutes to set up. There’s only a single pole, which is convenient. Easy to mix up the rotation of the pole, but that’s a non-issue.

Typical pole clips, nothing fancy or easily breakable. The rainfly has two vents at the top, which while we preferred them closed this trip could be convenient if it was humid in the tent. There is an abundance of head space inside, especially for me (6’1″).

With some gear inside and two sleeping pads, the floor space was starting to get a little tight and would probably be tighter if we had had our backpacks. I’m not sure we realized this when we bought, but the most of the tent is mesh.

It was ~35F and dry when we were out and not much heat stayed in the tent. I’m really looking forward to taking this out in the summer without the rainfly though for some night sky viewing. Not much in the way of little pockets or pouches for organization inside the tent.

Guylines included and seem standard too. We staked out the rainfly and that was easy, the stakes seem a little fragile though. We had it packed up in 10 minutes which was great. The tent material seems somewhat durable, and it’s nice that the footprint comes attached to the tent bottom so there’s one less thing to coordinate when setting up and tearing down.

Overall, I think this’ll be a good warm-ish weather tent for just a couple typical campers. Packed up, it is a little on a bulky/heavy side, so I’m a little hesitant about how it will feel when backpacking.

It’s also a pretty large tent, which might make it slightly tougher to find a good spot for it when out on the trail. The blue is a lot more vibrant in person, which we actually like more than the gray blue pictured.

I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a 2 person tent with a great length and height, really quick setup/tear down, and something to take car camping or on not very technical backpacking trips.

Our first camping trip after 25 years of marriage, the forecast sunny and bright with cool late summer weather we set off with hope in our hearts and a cooler full of ice, drinks and hotdogs. This tent set up easy and fast (within minutes)! However, we did run the poles through the lower loops instead of just the main guide tubes which added some time and hassle – turns out, the little gray and orange clips are all that’s used so save yourself from our mistake and inevitable suffering.

don’t run them through those little loops that hold the clips, just use the clips – you’ve been warned. We put on the rain tarp more for privacy than rain protection since we had clear skies and a pleasant forecast.

We did set a 10×12 tarp under the tent to give us a little room in front of either door to take off shoes; that worked perfectly. The tent is roomy, we set up two 4” air-up mattresses and had plenty of space between them to maneuver in/out of the tent.

It says for 4 people but two adults was better. I pity the fool who tries to fit 4 adults in there – y’all better like each other a lot. We had room to spare for our suitcases and clothes and some miscellaneous items.

There is a clip for a lantern in the center of the roof and held our small battery-powered lantern just fine. The zippers all zipped like zippers should, though you can stake down the tent too tightly and make it difficult to zip up the door so don’t over stretch it when staking it down.

The triangle windows let a nice cross-breeze gently engulf us with cool air. The large screen roof and generous openings on the doors would be perfect for those wonderfully star filled nights where privacy or weather wasn’t a concern.

With so much ventilation the air inside it never got stuffy. During an adventurous day hike, my wife noticed the leaves were upside down and claimed it meant rain was coming. Pfft! I said. The forecast was perfect, no rain.

She was adamant and I said we’ll see but if it does I intend to beat you in (the card game) Gin Rummy once and for all! So hours go by and the tent sat there looking like a tent. While campfire cooking, over the delightfully powerful aroma of burning cherry wood charcoal and some random logs, we smelled something.

A hotdog you speculate? Nope. Rain. It wasn’t upon us yet but it was coming. We gathered up our stuff to put away and in just in time! A downpour unleashed itself on our tent, assaulting and battering it with ourselves inside inspecting every seam for leaks like we were QC testers for REI Corp.

UmmHmm, this corner is damp! My wife proclaimed. I checked it but it just felt cold to me, not like water was coming through. So we monitored those little triangle windows like they were under FBI surveillance for crimes unimaginable.

This time the windows didn’t do anything wrong but we’ll be watching them closely. We settled in and played rummy as the rain eased but remained steady throughout the evening. It continued steadily through the night, easing in the early morning to a light rain/sprinkle.

We and our things in the tent were all dry, the only thing damaged was my ego for continuing my 3 year rummy losing streak. The wind never picked up in any meaningful way so not sure how it’d do in the wind but it did have 8 points to keep it nailed to the ground – I feel like it’d hold up as least as good as my wife’s rummy skills.

We took down the tent during the sprinkly bits and hurriedly stuffed into the back of the jeep dripping wet and muddy while the light rain/sprinkles kept us moving faster than the wicked witch of the west from a rain cloud.

We live in an 1100sqft apartment so no yard to dry the tent. We set it up inside the living room with a blanket under it to protect the flooring. It dried out within a few hours but we left it out for 24 hours to be sure.

Upon inspection of every square millimeter our detective selves found a very small tear (2mm) in the door screen mesh, near the bottom corner. The basic tent maintenance/repair kit will take care of the tiny hole and will use it to keep the seams in ship shape after use.

We love the tent and highly recommend it.

We bought this product for an unusual reason. We are not tent campers but we recently adopted a small dog and found, during our housetraining sessions in the rainy and snowy season, that she would not go outside and “perform”.

We have no appropriate covered area and so we tried retraining her to go inside on a pee pad. or even in a tray with rocks to imitate the outside yard. She had learned to go outside so well that she would not use anything we had to offer inside.

So I got the idea of purchasing a small tent with the plan to cut out the floor and offer her desired ground surface plus shelter from the elements. I certainly wanted something waterproof and sturdy but I did not want to pay a lot if I was going to cut out the floor.

The tent arrived in the time promised and we were delighted to find that it was easy to set up, was sturdy and stable, and had an easy access door, but seemed very secure when it was zipped closed. in other words, great shelter from the rain and snow.

but functional for our purpose of using it for her shelter when she had to go outside. We live in the mountains in Arizona and we experience downpours of torrential rains and hail and lots of wind during the monsoon season.

The little tent that cost us less than $40 is performing like a champ. We do have it set up in a corner that is somewhat protected by a fence and the house, but it has seen a lot of that rain, hail and wind I was talking about.

We are not certain what it will do in the snow. The shape of it suggests that the snow will not build up too bad and be very heavy, but we have made a center pole just to be safe. I intend to keep the snow off the sides intermittently during the day if we get a bad snowstorm.

I have confidence, given what we have seen so far, that our little shelter will work just fine. And with the floor cut out, she will no doubt feel dry and protected. The floor that we removed is of a strong material also and I am using it as an additional cover over the door.

Perhaps I will try to fashion some kind of awning to keep the rain from getting inside when the door is open and our fur baby is inside doing her thing. As a person who did a lot of tent camping in my younger days I can tell you that this is a product as good as promised.

It would be an affordable tent for and extra for the little kids in the family. It would easily sleep 3 or 4 children. or roomy for 2 adults and those extras that one needs nearby, like boots and coats and morning clothes to wear when starting the fire, Thank you for giving what you promised and then some.

I got this tent pretty fast. It arrived and I took it out at home to see how big it was. I’ve never bought a tent before, nor gone camping on my own, so it didn’t occur to me at the time to check the tent for holes.

Sure enough when we got to the campsite and were putting the tent up – my boyfriend noticed a small hole on the side which did upset me since we left the repair kit at home. I can’t say if this hole was caused by us or if it arrived like this but nonetheless, please check your tents before camping.

This tent can fit a full size bed inside, but it will be cramped so I suggest sleeping bags for each person. To truly test this tent out, it actually started to rain and I was extremely worried about the hole so my boyfriend and I tied a trash bag over the hole and it worked.

As the rain came down and we were stuck inside, the sides of the tent became slightly damp, but nothing alarmingly wet. It did stop raining though so we took the trash bag off – yet during the night the rain had picked up.

This tent held up though and surprisingly enough, there were no wet spots inside the tent by morning – I was really impressed! For the price of this tent, this is a great start and good material just be sure to check your tents when ever you buy one.

I wont return this tent but instead repair it and keep it for a back up. My boyfriend says this tent was “fantastic. ” hehe.

Very easy to set up. came with all hardware needed. Very roomy for two, but not too good for taller people over 6 feet. It’s water resistant, but moisture did get in when rain heavily. An extra tarp on top made a big diffence.

Very nice color combination and nice seam works. It’s quite compact when folded so you can hang it below or in your backpack. I set it up in my backyard for tanning purpose. I found the temperature rises pretty fast during a bright sunny day at around 75 degree.

I wish it has an extra window so the air would cool the inside temperature to a comfortable level. Not too much headroom, you might have to kneel down to perform all the activities such as changing clothes.

I also like the idea that two fiberglass rods were used to support the structure of the entire tent and it was holding up pretty good at twenty-five miles wind. It’s been set up in my backyard for over a month and I used it almost everyday.

It’s quite comfortable in some rainy and windy weather but not yet tried it under forty-five degree days. This tent is truly worth the money and I would strongly recommend it. Top screen very helpful when sun beating on tent.

We bought this tent because our family of five was just crammed in an eight persons tent. We use air mattresses and a cot so this gave us the space we needed to leave our bags on the floor of the tent and still have room to walk around.

The set up was easy once we figured out the directions, lol. We decided to color code our poles the way we wanted. Definitely worth the money you won’t be disappointed.

When looking for a lightweight 2p tent most options were very expensive and most did not actually have the room to fit two 25″ sleeping pads. Then I came across the Stargazer 2. 0. Let me start by saying the price was half of what I would have paid on EB’s site.

And for the price you get enough room for 2 25″ pads plus extra room, two doors, two large vestibules (larger than most competitors), included guy lines, high quality ground stakes (similar to msr groundhog), glow in the dark zippers (WHAT?!?!) and all under 4 pounds (pack weight).

Go ahead check the specs against other brands because I did. somehow this tent has everything all of the other tents have PLUS! Now, my only negative is that some of the competitors include a footprint which this does not.

As far as set up goes, it is very similar to other top of the line tents- color coded front of back so it goes up very quickly and stores away in a compression sack very easily. The sack is small enough for me to fit inside my 65L pack and I store the poles on the outside.

Purchased this for motorcycle camping, and we’ve been on two trips already this summer — it is a total win. The poles are all connected and color coded so assembly is a cinch, even in the dark, even the first time.

Very lightweight, durable, and we were surprised that there is actually room for two full-sized people (and a little gear) in this two person tent. Stake the fly and you have two little gear garages to keep the rain off as well.

Doors on both sides are also super helpful. Can’t wait for a clear night to go fly-less and watch the stars.

I bought this tent and recently used it for a car camping trip. The tent was so easy to set up because of the color-coding and I was pleasantly surprised by the glow in the dark zippers that helped me get in and out of the tent in the dark! We remained comfortable and dry in the tent despite a few nighttime thunderstorms and 90 degree weather.

We were even able to fit a full-sized air mattress in the tent.

I bought the Woods Pinnacle because a friend has the 2 person version for himself alone (plus gear etc), and thoroughly enjoys hiking and camping at -30C and much colder without ever even wanting a hot water bottle or extra bedding – good reference.

I have the 4 person size, to accommodate living in it for large periods of time with my dog and a heck of a lot of stuff. I’ve lived in this tent for much of the past year, through four seasons. Yes, it’s good.

The front entry door shape is a little funky, but you get used to it quickly and it’s well worth the heat retention it facilitates in winter, as well as for the bit of extra shade/coolness it allows in summer.

I’ve had crazy-hot summer days in this tent as well as downpours, windstorms, blizzards, and stupidly cold temperatures. I did set it up inside a larger summer tent for a while to create extra storage space for my scooter and dog trailer, but even before that, with good bedding, we were quite comfortable regardless of what was going on outside.

It’s got enough space without sacrificing warmth or circulation. Quick and simple to set up or pack alone, not too heavy, good quality construction, nice ventilation, stuff sack works well. The little “gear loft” storage hammock thing is too small to be useful and is (at least mine is) placed on an angle so nothing really stays in it, but I don’t really care and never really use those much anyways.

I suspect they’re all a bit wonky in any tent, being a small extra sort of thing. So, I’m happy with my tent. Bonus – with the orange fly over the pale inner walls, morning always seems sunny inside this tent.
