13 Best Tessa Dare Books (2022 Updated)

The Duke of Ashbury needs an heir and when Emma shows up in his library wearing a wedding dress, he decides she will do. Of course, there are rules she must agree to, they will be husband and wife at night only and only until she is pregnant, she can never see or touch his scars, and once there is an heir, they will rarely see each other.

Emma has rules of her own as she refuses to be married to someone she doesn’t know, they must have dinner together every night, with lots of conversation. Of course, those dinner conversations turn into conversations during the day, and favors, and getting to know one another, and once Emma gets to know the man beneath the scars, he’ll never stop her from falling for him.

The Duchess Deal was my first 5-star read of the year and I absolutely loved it. It’s funny, sweet, emotional, and filled with banter. The Duke is witty and had a dry sense of humor that just makes you fall in love with him and Emma is smart and courageous that you can’t help but root for her.

The writing style is wonderful and the story is intriguing. With the addition of the side characters, it was a book I couldn’t and didn’t want to put down. ✔ Marriage of Convenience ✔ Class Difference ✔ Grumpy Hero ✔ Dual POV 🔥 Spicy.

I received an ARC of this book I loved this book and all it’s characters! The Duchess Deal is the first book in Tessa Dare’s newest series and I am really looking forward to the next one after how much I loved this book.

The Duchess Deal had a Beauty and the Beast aspect to it which was fun to read but I really loved the way all the different characters interacted and learning more about them. The relationship between Ash and Emma has it’s ups and downs but I was happy to see how everything works out for them and thought the Epilogue was really cute.

I also loved seeing how Ash acted with Trevor and I hope to see more of Trevor in the series. The relationship between Ash and his butler Khan was also a lot of fun to watch, I really liked Khan’s character.

This book is everything you need if your hooked on reading romance regency novel that are on the steamer side. Engaging main characters that have sassy attitudes and comebacks. A excellent read that made me laugh and brought out my inner ‘fan girl’ and I especially loved the authors dedication note to her father.

I decided to partake in the journey of The Love Dare on my own; not so much to make my relationship better, but to make me better. And in doing so, that will make my relationship better. Today is April 23, 2020 and I am on day 6.

I love the changes that I see in myself so far. I absolutely love doing this journey. Even my husband says that he sees changes in me. He said he likes the vibe of what is happening. (I did not tell him that I am doing The Love Dare.

I just asked him to be patient with me because I am experiencing personal changes for the better. ) I know I’m still in the beginning stages, but I imagine it is going to be an awesome ride just from what I have experienced so far.

This book is suppose to go to my husband but he is so ignorant that he refused to read and understand the meaning and now he’s becoming my ex-husband. I tried to make it work and he decided to be a jerk.

The book is amazing but I guess I’ll keep it and pass the good word to people who would be willing to understand and learn that there world does not revolve around them.

I have read this book twice and have put sticky note tabs throughout where there are points to come back to. I have read a lot of leadership books, and though I’m already a fan of BB’s work, this is hands down, the best leadership book I’ve read.

It combines the latest research and learning from academia, with amazing stories from a range of industries including the military. If you manage people in the modern age, this is essential reading to better understand yourself, the people you manage and who manages you.

Empathy and compassion are top leadership skills that are critical for taking is into a sustainable and inclusive future.

I’m an avid kindle user to prevent the destruction of trees but I needed a physical version of this book. In regular Booktopia fashion it arrived relatively fast but 2 books were packed into a box big enough for 10! Ridiculous! I wont be doing that again.

Better off going to the local book store and saving on any additional carbon footprint.

I don’t have enough words for the work of Breene Brown. I love how she speaks about shame and vulnerability and her research interest. I would recommend all of her books if you are struggling with insecurities and need encouragement to be yourself and to dare to lead.

After, was a dreamy story line. I brought the book after in a bookstore after running out of reading material, not realizing it was a 5 part series or a movie. I finished the massive first book within 3 days and had to come to booktopia and wait shipping till I could continue reading the series.

I hate leaving series left unfinished and I counted the days till it arrived. The #Hessa bandwagon is something I dreamed about. It broke my heart put me back together then shattered me. I actually cried reading this series but couldn’t stop.

Due to these books being so large I ended up reading them within 3 weeks. I love the naive Tessa that was so innocent but corrupted by the damaged Hardin, Hardin who realized his downfalls and protected and destroyed everything just to love Tessa.

His love and loyalty is every women’s dream. His damaged past, a girl he couldn’t even dream off just to fight the right to have her. Would RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE.

Third book of the after series. Probably one of the biggest books from all the after books. Many secrets are revealed towards the end that they’ll make you go crazy. Many secrets,emotions and betrayal but in between an improvement.

I KNOW!! Too many things happening in a small span of time. But hey! That’s how the after books are! I love them and I recommend it for the people who are willing to go through Tessa’s and Hardin’s journey.

I loved it most among first 3 books. The wordplay, plot twitsts, character development. I think I cried most during reading this most. People who are only watching movie are missing out so much!!! The movies have only given me some of the faces except Harry and Zayan.

Those are okay-ish to watch but don’t hold the actual essence of the novels even a bit!!.

In an instant Gilbert abolishes all bad energies about living a creative life and ultimately pushes me to do nothing but embrace my creative nature even more. I don’t want to give too much of the book away, because if like me, you are a creative person, you have to read it, but Gilbert makes a point of allowing yourself to embrace your creative interests without it becoming your career, perhaps just a hobby – and thats important.

For me, I’ve always focused on forever having a job that I enjoy, but I’ve always feared for the future and having a ‘normal’ job. But this is exactly Gilbert’s point, if you can have your passion as your career, great that’s awesome.

But if not, thats absolutely fine too, make sure you can stand on your own two feet but also devote time to your creative talent as a hobby that might progress into something bigger. I urge you to read this book if you’re looking for inspiration or are even on the verge of giving up on your dreams – it is life-changing.

I don’t actually have a physical copy of the book but I did listen to it on Audible and I loved it. I love self-help books but there are some that seem a bit dry and hard to get into. This wasn’t. And I loved being able to listen to this while driving as it felt like having a nice therapy session with a friend.

I was so excited to learn of this book, to order this book and to anxiously await its arrival. As I began reading, it seemed to be exactly what I wanted. The words made me take pause, at first, marveling introspectively.

Then, I reached the end of page 15 and wondered why someone with such compelling talent would feel he/she needed to use language such as that. After putting the book down, I went and actually read reviews for it in the one star and two star ranges and have decided I’m not going to read further.

Definite disappointment.

I did not enjoy the contents of this book or the manner in which these contents were presented. Some of the information was outdated for the modern workplace (e. g. tattoos which are a lot more common now days) or even saying women with long hair would not be taken as seriously.

I did not appreciate the stereotyping. This may be suited for an American audience.

If you are a self-reflective person who routinely assesses your own work, this book is really basic. I was very excited to receive it, but I found it TOO basic. Not only that, the information pertains to very specific kinds of work environments.

As someone who’s worked in progressive non-profits, arts organizations, at universities etc. , I found a lot of the information didn’t apply. This is especially true of the sections that tell you how to dress.

That said, this would probably be best for someone who’s utterly clueless about these kinds of thing (and this isn’t condescending – I’m utterly clueless about stuff too). I actually think that for women, books that focus on building self-confidence and building good and mutually beneficial relationships are actually more helpful.

Gloria Steinem’s Revolution from Within in extraordinary in this regard, a LOT smarter, and still incredibly relevant. Add to this the fact that it speaks to both genders and it makes it even better.

Covers a lot of ground on subtle mistakes made by women in the workplace, resulting in being perceived as a ‘girl’ rather than a strong, respected women. Includes practical tips to address these mistakes and a reading list.

Absolutely love Danielle Steel books and have read many of hers in the past. Always come back to them as i find they are light reading but the stories are completely different and you never want to put the book down.

It transports you into the world of the story!.

Danielle Steel never writes a bad book. I am a fan, and have most of her books. Every book has a hidden theme which goes along with the title, and you will find it hard to put the book down for that reason.

Love Danielle Steel books….I am trying to read them all. I like the romance, and mystery of some of her story’s. I really liked this one.

NAILED IT!!! I have been collecting all of the Goodman Games “5e Conversion and Homage” books, and Expedition to Barrier Peaks is where Goodman Games found the perfect balance of new material, the classic stuff, and a gorgeous end product complete with a beautiful new piece of Erol Otis artwork as an inside cover artwork.

For those who complain about getting too much “old stuff” they clearly do not understand what Wizards of the Coast is allowing Goodman Games to produce for them. A classic D&D experience!!! Again of the (so far) 3 classic modules Goodman Games has produced, Expedition is the Gold Standard version to which all the others should be judged.

They really did a good job on it. Not sure why Isle of Dread lost them but, I am so happy to see the bookmark ribbon has returned to the books spine! Feel free to double up in the next printings. A great help.

This is a great book so far, just started to read the 5e section. The reprints of the original are perfects, and I was glad to read all the interviews in the front. The inner cover art by Errol was great.

I’d have loved to see more color Errol Otus Art. He is one of my art heroes from way back. The only think I’d like to have is more color maps and color art. I’d pay more for color versions of all the hand out art.

The maps are so complex with the lighting information a color map would have helped that a lot. But that would just be icing on the cake, and this is some great cake.

This is a great homage to one of the classics of D&D history. The conversion & extra material are well done & add to the greatness of the adventure. The book itself though thick appears to be well made & the binding is solid & so that it should last for many years as long as the book is properly cared for.

Great Regency era historical novel! Great price, too. I’ve read it at least 3 times.

A lovely story with engaging dialogue and an amazing variety of pet names for the hero.

Loran Seilstad is a new author to me and reading this novel was an introduction into her writing style and her love of telling a story. The series revolves around three sisters who after losing their parents make a promise to always support each other’s dreams.

The novels in the series order are When Love Calls followed by book two While Love Stirs and ending with As Love Blooms. I read a lot! Just ask my family anytime of the day what I am doing and more than likely they let you know I have my nose in a bookÖagain.

In As Love Blooms women are marching for the suffrage movement and finding a balance between running a home having a family and taking care of a home. The youngest sister Tessa is fun-loving thrill-seeking and a living life on the edge kind of gal who wants her sisters to see her as a grown woman no longer a little girl.

Reese is a man who can tend a garden much like his father but lacks the ability to bring creativity to his planning of fauna and shrubs. When Reese meets Tessa it seems together they bring something the other lacks in horticulture along with a possible friendship.

Throughout the book I so enjoyed seeing how close the sisters’ love for each other brought both tears and gladness when tied to the life experience of the others. If you haven’t read the other two novels before reading this one you would still enjoy it as much as I did although I do plan on reading the other prior books now.

There are many themes in the book such as faith decisions and supporting family praying and going through life trusting above all the Lord. When one night Tessa turns up missing the whole family pulls together including Reese to piece together the clues to her possible location.

Another trying time for Tessa is learning the hard way that no true friend would ask another to do an action considered unethical. Tessa is a character I can relate to in many ways like her love of learning something new or doing something just because it was wrong dangerous or unladylike.

However Tessa does it anyway. I love that indomitable spirit that seeks to soar learn and enjoy life! So grab a copy or perhaps during the summer join a book club that is reading the book or series. You will enjoy the story of the Gregory sisters.

Book three of The Gregory Sisters series follows the life of the youngest sister Tessa. After losing their parents the sisters agreed to support one another in obtaining their dreams. Each of them ended up pursuing careers that were male dominated in the early 1900s inspired by their own passions and their suffragette foster aunt.

While the older two sisters had not had an easy road to career success it had been a fairly direct route for each of them. Not so for Tessa who had dabbled in photography acting and working for the Pinkerton Agency before discovering her true passion for horticulture.

As with her sisters career pursuits led to romantic ones. Seilstad’s research and personal knowledge of the St. Paul area the culture of the early 1900s is a tremendous asset to her storytelling. From the building of the Como Park’s conservatory to Nabisco’s introduction of the Oreo biscuit she transports her readers across time and space into the Gregory’s world.

The gardening theme is carried across the spiritual lessons within the story. Seilstad explores the meaning of having faith as big as a mustard seed. She also explores being rooted in faith family and convictions.

Important lessons one hundred years ago and now. As Love Blooms is a delightful read that reminds one of the values once held dear in American society values that we can and should still foster in our families and communities.

As Love Blooms is the third book in The Gregory Sisters trilogy however it can easily be read as a stand alone novel for those who have not read the first two books. I have read all three books in the series and have enjoyed each one of them very much! The author writes about strong female characters who are all trying in their own way to break into fields not usually open to females of the time.

Sometimes an author can write a female character that is so stubborn and set on changing things that I can’t really feel compassion for her. However that is not the case in these books. In As Love Blooms Tessa has strong goals and is a likeable character.

This story also deals with the fact that all people tend to keep some things secret. And although some things are small and inconsequential secrets others have the possibility of truly hurting others when that secret is revealed.

The author also delved into why various characters in the story feel the need to keep things to themselves that might be better out in the open. I thought that the author did a great job of creating an interesting story fun characters a good romantic attraction and the possibility of damaging secrets hanging over the story.

This book was a good way to wrap up the series. My thanks to Revell for the complimentary copy of this book that I received in exchange for an honest review.

Personally, I had watched the first three movies before reading the series. The first book was very sexual and detailed. However, I found myself obsessed. I have completed the book two times before ever finishing the series of books.

The books are in my opinion way better than the books. However, watching them first allowed me to imagine Tessa Hardin as the characters presented in the movies. My mother has tried to read the series but found no interest.

She prefers the movies and is a book junkie. With all that being said I would say give the book a shot. 👍🏼.

In this twisted and trying tale, an ambitious, college-bound girl, Tessa Young, has found herself entangled with a wild boy that she would have never have given the time of day. Her main goal was to focus on school, her too-good-to-be true boyfriend, Noah, and to start her career in English, but all of that changes after.

After she meets Hardin. He is a bad boy with a traumatic past he has completely captured Tessa’s attention. In the first book of the After series we find Tessa trying to find out how she fits into her new college life while also figuring out if she is falling for Hardin Scott.

My favorite trope is that of enemies to lovers and this book fulfills that fantasy!.

Let me first say I usually don’t write reviews about anything, but this deserves it. First off, it’s an easy read and understanding everything that is going on so you could get thru the series fairly quick, and that is the hard part because you want to finish it as soon as possible, but want it to continue.

Hardin and Tessa’s relationship is one of the hardest I have ever read, but it is raw and passionate love, and it is the worse kind of love, but that is what love is about, sometimes. I have never cried in my life as much as I have over a book, not even when Dobby dies in Harry Potter.

I even threw the books a few times, cursed at it, curled up under my husband’s arms because the emotions in their story is so raw. I hated Hardin, loved Hardin, hated Tessa, and loved her again. This book is not for people who take things series , as it does have a lot of emotional abuse in it.

At the end of everything no one should go through the process that this couple goes through, but again some people actually do. That is what makes series so great, it could actually happen. And to think it started with a One Direction.

I will honestly reread the whole series again, and I don’t do that.

I loved The God Dare by Kate Battistelli! Kate provides real life and Biblical examples of God Dare’s and how they bring about transformation and change in the world. She beautifully retells Bible stories that focus on particular Bible characters that accepted God’s Dares.

She also shares several examples of Biblical characters that accepted the devil’s dare and some that accepted both. Even though I knew most of the Bible stories Kate shares, she retells them in such easy to understand and engaging ways I felt like I was reading them for the first time! I love that each chapter ends with Scriptures to Think About, God Dare Secrets, and discussion questions that can also be used in a group study.

I also loved the 7 Spiritual Secrets and God Dare Enemies that Kate explains in detail. Kate authentically bares her soul and shares her truths, and sheds light on her own sins of the past, which I found powerful! She expresses her hopes that everyone graciously accepts God’s dare’s, no matter how big or obscure they are, they all matter.

I was deeply touched by Kate’s writing, her honesty, and her faithfulness in walking the path the Lord has laid out before her. The God Dare tenderly inspired, encouraged, and motivated me. Kate writes with a no-nonsense, “I’ve been there” approach which I find engaging and refreshing.

Her faithfulness, authenticity, wisdom, and passion were poured upon the pages of The God Dare and I love the sprinkles of light hearted humor Kate shares. I think these quotes by Kate Battistelli sum up The God Dare: “The God Dare answers the age-old question: Am I enough? When God dares you, He proves without a doubtYes.

You. Are!” “The God Dare is the unexplainable effects of obedience. ” “The whole point of the God Dare is to believe in the impossible, walk by faith and not by sight, and take God at His word in complete trust.

” I really enjoyed reading The God Dare. It awakened new possibilities for my life, God’s possibilities. I have been working on my first book for over 4 years and I have been stuck, too paralyzed by doubts and fears to complete it.

(Which Kate shares as 2 of the enemies of God Dare’s. ) Since reading Kate Battistelli’s wonderful book, my eyes have opened to new insights and perspectives and I feel compelled to finish the work the Lord has placed upon my soul.

I accept God’s dare! If you feel you or what you’re doing aren’t enough, I recommend reading The God Dare, to be reminded that you are enough, and you do matter! The God Dare is the type of book you can reread and glean more from it each time you read it.

“The God Dare” is a fabulous read! Kate Battistelli has written an encouraging, challenging book that many could benefit from diving into. In her second book, Battistelli shares her own personal stories of challenge or triumph in a way that both seems like a memoir of her life and a reminder of God’s faithfulness.

I had to spread out my reading over a couple of evenings, and I enjoyed the quiet moments to catch up. Battistelli is the mother of Christian singer Francesca, whose story she shares a bit of in “The God Dare,” but Kate has plenty of stories of her own interesting life, from performing on Broadway with Yul Brenner and other famous actors to her personal struggle with infertility and depression.

Kate is all at once the supportive voice you need and the honest motherly figure who pushes you out of your comfort zone, all while cheering you on. So many in this world settle for less than what God wants for them.

Sometimes being bold and brave enough to take the “God Dares” that are placed before us make the difference between settling and soaring. Battistelli uses stories of people in Scripture who decided against accepting what was offered by the world to be challenged to reach for the better things God had for them.

Each chapter end reminds the reader of pertinent Sciptures, points to remember from that portion and helpful questions for self reflection. This can be deep work, so be prepared to finish the book different from when you began.

“The God Dare” will speak to people of all ages who are through with doing the bare minimum in their walk of faith. If you’re ready to jump in with both feet and do some things the world says is crazy, “The God Dare” is the book for you.

This beautiful book has become something that my husband and I read nightly. The Love Dare for Couples Devotion is a short 1 page per day devotional of encouraging reminders that the greatest gift is love.

After so many years of marriage it seems that everyone tends to take their mate for granted. With Bible based tips, I really look forward to the weekly love dares to become closer to God and my spouse.

It’s a good reminder that God put a husband and wife together as one on earth above all others. Renew your love for your husband or wife the way God meant things to be and trust Him. Couples should always be there for each other especially when life gets in the way.

It includes 365 days of devotions for a very reasonable price.

Update. Ordered another one. When done with this one gonna give to son and his fiance. Every couple should have this book. Time will tell. After 13 years of marriage, the best 13 years of my life, my wife tells me she isn’t happy and not in love with me anymore.

She is the love of my life so I will try anything to get her to find her feeling. A friend recommended the movie and books so I ordered The Love Dare Day By Day. Then realizing what I did then ordered The Love Dare.

Still waiting for it. But I will do anything in my power to save my marriage. I got into church already and pray pray pray. I won’t give up on my wife. A LITTLE UPDATE! I have read ahead to day 50 in 3 days and going back each morning to the day I’m on and reread and do the dare.

I know after this three days that if I had this book 13 years ago I would not be in this situation today. I’m not taking any shortcuts. Putting 200% in this and the 40 day challenge also. I’m praying my wife sees the difference and comes home.

I was great to her in many ways before it was just my attitude. Now that I know and these books, if it’s not to late and she gives me the chance with the help of God I will never let my wonderful wife down again.

After my husband’s 4 year affair came to light, we were struggling to put our marriage back together. As we read, prayed and talked, I came to realize that my husband had no clue what love really is.

To him, it was bringing home a paycheck on his part and my having sex with him for my part. After digging into his past, we discovered why this was his view of love but then we had to figure out how to teach him what love really is.

and we found the Love Dare book. After reading that, his eyes were opened tremendously, so we ordered the Love Dare Devotional book and the changes in him have been unbelievable. He’s wept at some of the devotions and has begged my forgiveness for the hurt he’s inflicted on me.

We read our devotionals every night before praying together. Between prayer, and good Christian books, we’ve come farther in our healing than any one we’ve known who have gone to counseling. And as long as we continue to heal and grow, we’ll continue to find good Christian books to help us.
