The good, the bad, and the frizzy. Let’s start with the good, the formula is definitely light and weightless. It’s not too greasy and it gives your hair a nice shine. It applies well and smooths upon application.

The bad. it’s in an aerosol can which isn’t the best for the environment. It did not hold up to humid weather. I went out into foggy rainy weather and within seconds my hair began to frizz up. While my frizz was less than usual at first, but the end of the night it was almost as if I didn’t put in any frizz reduction product at all.

Re-application is definitely necessary and I can say for certain it does not last for 24 hours. I even used it as a finishing spray and then smoothed it down with a straightener and sprayed again for good measure and that still did not seem to help.

I am not sure exactly how much of this product they intend people to use for the achieved effect but I felt that my application was generous. Applying any more would have left my hair too greasy. As the weather improved so did my hair.

I had no frizz or fly aways and did not re-apply. The moral of the story is nothing is going to stop the weather from frizzing up your hair. If you know of anything please share the info because I haven’t come across any fool proof products yet.

This was the first time I have purchased this cream after reading many positive reviews. I found that a little goes a long way with my medium length hair. The product has a very refreshing clean scent and once I have warmed it up in my hands, I evenly disperse it through my hair and just do a wet set, by taking a small strand and curling it with my finger.

I then leave it to dry naturally and am left with soft ringlets. I’m extremely please with this product.

The first time I used this. I pumped a quarter size amount and that was too much. I have medium length hair and just under a dime size is more than enough to control your hair. The scent is sweet almost like a mild perfume.

I use it to tame my “fly-away” hair especially during humid weather. It’s is also very good if you want to have that sleek shiny look, but as I said before, use very little at a time.

TL;DR – small but impressive bottle of styling powder more effective than I gave credit for. Worked for my 3in, thin (not thinning) short hair very well. Plenty of floof and texture. I’m always on the lookout for styling products.

I’ve stepped away from gels and sprays some time ago and used to just run my hair dry. Having wanted a bit more floof and texture, I first started with the putty, which was decent, then the Salt spray, which worked great, even keeping hair from not being as oily.

Then I decided to try this powder and was not disappointed! To get my one gripe out of the way, the bottle is small, around the size of my middle finger. Offsetting that negative are two things. The first is that it doesn’t take much to get the hair doing it’s thing.

Having medium lengthed short hair (. ? about 3in length), I do a very light sprinkling, back to front, just inside the start of the top hair length on the left and right side and then the same down the middle, also back to front.

I then work it in with my fingers. The little bottle has quite a few uses in it, at least compared to a can of dry shampoo, if you know how quickly that runs out. I have between 1/2 and 2/3 of the bottle remaining after using it about 6 times.

The second benefit I forgive the small size for may or may not be applicable to you, but it’s this: I have really oily hair. I can shower in the afternoon and wake up in the next morning with hair that’s just barely presentable.

I shower in the morning and wake up the next day and it looks like I just got back from exercising. It’s gross. The powder allows me to not have to wash my hair everyday. Now, whether it cleans the hair or not, I don’t know.

It could just be absorbing the oil, leaving my hair just as filthy without looking like it. But, while I don’t recommend taking it out this long, a test had it making oily head last 4 days while still being presentable.

I’d only recommend this if you wash your face regularly and don’t sleep on one side of your pillow for several days as I cannot speak to how clean or dirty your hair will be from this. So, all that said.

There’s a little bottle of powder that has at least 20 uses on it, each use being good enough to maintain very impressive, restylable floof and texture as well as keeping oily residue hidden for 3-5 days in 3in long hair.

That’s well worth it to me. I was skeptical at first. Now, I found a great companion product to the Salt Spray.

This powder is seriously magical! It can use it at any time of the day without washing my hair prior to use. All the hold I need to do just about anything I want with my short to medium length hair, without the oily shine.

But the best part? It’s versatile for my every day life! No more helmet head after a ride on the hog, as it is very easily restyle-able. This is now my go-to styling product, as everything else is now at the back of the closet.

Awesome! Only ever used a styler powder once before this with my barber and loved it. The P&P has a slightly less strong hold but has better ingredients and does what I need it to do. My hair is very thick so I do require a bit more product than others and paired with the sea salt spray it keeps my hair flowing but not glued down (which is what I like).

Overall another fantastic product from Aaron and the team at P&P!.

I have a bone to pick with Redken. I think I speak for many loyal customers when I say, you stopped making the REDKEN #Waterwax3 and rebranded it for MEN. Girls, if you check out Redken Brews WAX POMADE (not clay or cream) BUT WAX POMADE, you will see that it looks identical to the WATER WAX 3! This product was the ONLY product that would work by texturizing my waves/curls.

I loyally used this product for the better part of 10 years. Noe, while I get there are many curl products for women, and men need products too. , I begrudgingly am buying a MENS HAIR WAX PRODUCT for the lack of a replacement of the Water Wax 3.

I just wish the “Marketing Folks” at Redken would have been an loyal to their female customers as they are their “bottom line” $$&. I don’t mind using a mens product but it just took me A YEAR to run out of my #Waterwax and find a good replacement.

I am a fanatic about finding great hair styling products. I like strong hold, but not rock hard. I like flexibility that also keeps your hair styled throughout the day. This was a great choice for what I was looking for.

Easy to wash out, smells nice and easy to rub into your hands to shape that hair. I have hair that’s short on the sides and long on top (long part is pushed to one side). Cool branding/packaging too.

I had high hopes for this product because it’s redken. I have a pixie cut and like to push my hair back, almost slicked but not shiny. Literally all this did was make my hair look dirty and greasy, even though I used a tiny amount.

It had zero hold. It really weighed my hair down and took away all of the volume I worked so hard to put into it. I just all around hate this product. Returning it ASAP. Don’t recommend.

I had been a fan of Living Proof Molding Clay for years. It held my shorter fine/medium textured hair beautifully throughout the day without being waxy / greasy. I could count on it no matter how I decided to style my hair.

Unfortunately, it is no longer available. It’s so disappointing because it was a great product. I’ve tried the amp texture volumizer before, but do not care for it like I did the clay. I find that I have to use quite a bit more of the amp to style my hair the way I want, which weighs it down.

It does not have the hold /staying power as I had hoped it would. I guess I’ll be on the search for something similar to the clay I was using. Too bad :(.

I always hesitate to give something a 5 star rating. But I have had this for a month and I feel like I have used it in combination with all my fave shampoos and conditioners as well as other styling products I use regularly and it performs consistently for my hair type.

I have light blond highlights to enhance naturally graying hair that’s cut in a short multi layered asymmetrical bob, it’s also naturally wavy and fine with NO natural body or texture. I mostly use Aveda products to wash and condition.

After applying a curl creme and diffusing my hair, I apply this to my palms and rub to liquidate and turn my head upside down, rubbing my palms through my scalp. This fills in all flat spots like magic.

Then I finish with Aveda Air Control hairspray. To fluff during the day all I have to do is run my fingers through my scalp and shake my curls back into place.

I think the bad reviews are due to people not using it correctly. Unless you’ve tried and tried and just can’t get it to work, ok then it may not be for you lol BUT, I tried it the first time, following the directions, making sure I rubbed the product between my hands until the product was completely clear, rubbing the hair from ends to roots so most of it goes onto the shaft thus preventing oily roots.

and the first few time my hair didn’t look good: oily, dirty, and limp. Total opposite of what you’re supposed to get right? What I came to notice after a couple of times trying it out is you need a TINY amount.

You may be using way too much. Even a dime size can be too much. Of course, this depends on hair type, hair length, hair porosity, etc. So try and find YOUR tiny amount. I have normal-ish, kinda fine hair, long, natural wave, limp.

I seriously only need a DAB on my middle finger. That’s it. I literally just dab with my middle finger and that amount spreads just enough and works wonders! My hair looks fuller, volumized, slightly textured and lived-in but in the most beautiful way.

It’s like a dry, texture spray but at the control of your fingertips (literally), to place and put exactly where you want and need it. Try it out! You might just fall in love too.

Yum!! 😻💕 soo the first time I used it I tried it on day 2 hair and I didn’t love it. I thought it made my hair too stiff, I hate feeling product in my hair! Today I used it on my clean washed hair more like a “hold hairspray” and I like it like this instead!! I keep trying diff texture sprays trying to find a dupe for Oribe but nothing compares to Oribe!! However, when I use this not so close and a few inches away from my hair- like I would a hairspray I like it way better! Plus is smells amazing, I love cocktailng products with delicious smells in my hair bc I want to be able to smell my hair at all times 🥰 LOL I sprayed it today and my cousin in the next room yelled that smells good!! So expect compliments 😊😊 I just wouldn’t over do it like a dry shampoo bc it does have grit!!.

smells good and definitely one of the lighter feeling sprays Ive used. doesn’t leave heavy residue, but my hair is a light brown/dark blonde so it doesn’t show up much anyway. my hair is quite fine and pretty thin, so I never expect too much from a texture spray, but this definitely adds a little extra oomph without too much weight and grit.

I was nervous to try this because I love IGK Beach Club spray for texture. But the price point is so great and I have loved all the other EVA NYC products I’ve tried so much. This had no reviews on it at the time I bought it but this stuff is amazing.

It could easily replace the Beach Club spray. All I like better about that one is the smell. But this smells good, and gets the job done. I love that it’s not sticky or heavy. It gives just enough grit and texture right before I want to curl it after blow drying it.

Then I finish with it too. I love it! Thank you EVA NYC for making several products that are easily saving me money without compromising results and quality!.

So sad the product made my hair straight took out my curl my hair look like I relaxed my hair very disappointed

STAPLE ITEM!!! I absolutely adore this texturizing dry shampoo. It gives a light, workable hold, NO RESIDUE, No powdery look/feel that other dry spots have. I have short, fine hair that does best with less washing and this has been WONDERFUL at keeping my hair feeling great between washes.

It has a refreshing, light scent. The price is perfect. I definitely recommend trying if you’re in the market for a good texturizing dry shampoo.

I liked finding a brand I didn’t previously know about that has options. This brand is worth the money in exploring!.

I have fine, oily hair and was looking for something to absorb oils and give me volume, so I gave this stuff a shot. Unfortunately, the volume it does provide is short-lived (my hair is flat again within an hour or so) and it leaves my hair feeling heavy and sticky.

Also I’ve been breaking out all around my forehead, neck, and shoulders – wherever my hair touches – since I started using this spray and I think it’s the culprit. Will be returning and trying something else.

I have worn texturizer for many years, but Texture my way is by far the best. I can find where I live which is an inconvenience. Highly recommend this prouct!

How she looks initially was buying this at the hair store was unable to find and again my Walmart came through thank you Walmart another excellent purchase

I’m usely write good reviews because I believe what does work for me will for from some one else. But not this product all thought the product smell good its dry out your scap with cause breakage. The only positive thing I have to say is this product is the reason I’m been natural for 4 years now.

The product is good, but I was a little disappointed because its qualities are very different from what is advertised. They promise a matte effect, but it leaves the hair shiny, very shiny. They promise total control over the hair, but the correction is not very strong (at least for my type of hair with thick strands).

The product resembles a type of glue and leaves the hair very heavy and gooey. Summary of the work: it looks like I applied a gel. herg. The smell is interesting, but, unlike the other TIGI products I’ve used, it is very strong, persistent and nauseating.

My hypothesis is that it is more suitable for very fine hair, where the amount of product needed is less to provide good control. To raise thick hair, I recommend TIGI Mastermind.

To say that I can’t live without the Bedhead Manipulator is a gross understatement! I have a short pixie cut and seriously love the strong hold of this molding paste! A small dime-sized amount goes a long way and once applied to hair, it’s easy-peasy to shape into any hairstyle.

I wouldn’t recommend this product for those with long, thin hair but if you have thick short hair, then give this a try!.

I love this product and the green one (a matte firmer putty). It isn’t too sticky and doesn’t weight my short thick hair down. I usually go a few days between washes and this product holds so well through those no wash days that I can just finger style in the morning without really adding any more of it.

Doesn’t make my hair dull either, like some pomades.

I really like how this texture spray performs, I use it for extra volume. I have naturally wavy hair (2B/2C) that is very soft and fine. I style as usual with gel on my soaking wet hair, then after it’s completely dry and I’ve scrunched out the crunch, I use this spray by lifting up layers of my hair and spraying underneath near my roots, then I add a little more down they lengths of my hair mostly focusing on just the top 2/3 since the ends tend to get a bit dry sometimes.

This spray really gives me lots of extra volume, and it’s lasts the entire day! I don’t love how my hair feels after the spray dries, it feels a little rough and gritty but then again, that’s probably how all texturizing spray feels.

It doesn’t bother me too much because I try to touch my hair as little as possible anyway, otherwise it’s frizz central over here! This product is the only thing that will give me successful Day 2 hair (sometimes even Day 3!) without completely wetting my hair down and starting from square one.

Without it, my waves/curls look flattened and limp unless I re-wash/re-style. On day 2 I just get my hands wet and glaze them over my hair a few times, then scrunch a few times and it reactivates the product enough that I don’t need to apply more.

I first experienced this spray when my hair stylist (who specializes in curly girl cutting and styling) used it when she cut my hair. I loved how my hair looked that day so I bought the travel size to try it out and see if I could get the same results (and I did!).

I plan on buying the full size bottle once my travel size runs out. It smells great too and my boyfriend commented that he liked the smell.

This product has saved my thin, flat hair. I use multiple Kenra products which include the blow dry mist thermal mist, hair spray, thickening shampoo and conditioner, hair thickening glaze, root lifter spray and air dry creme.

I love all of their products to be honest and they all have given my natural and oily hair life again. If I was stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, it would be the dry texture spray.

This spray is light, non sticky, leaves your hair touchable. I have never received compliments on my hair before, but thanks to Kenra, now I do. I haven’t tried one Kenra product I do not like. 10/10 would recommend the entire collection.

I do not recommend this product at all! I was trying something new since I have fine hair and heard good things about this brand and I will never use their products again! It instantly melted/burned my hair off!!! I followed the instructions on the bottle you can use before and after styling, I even let it dry before using my hair.

I went to cosmetology school and so this is not something new to me just was trying a different product and I do not recommend at all.

My long, dry and wavy hair usually falls flat and doesn’t have a lot of volume. This texture spray makes my hair easy to manage and gives it a amazing body and texture without a crunchy stiff feeling.

It has long staying power. I shake the bottle and then spray it onto my dry, styled hair, tousle with my fingers for that extra volume that my hair needs. It has a wonderful scent. The spray does not weigh down my hair or leaves my hair greasy or sticky.

The spray feels very natural and does not make my hair crunchy. It gives my hair a boost in volume, makes it look shiny and healthy and defines my natural waves. This spray is just perfect for easy to style, manageable and natural looking hair.

I was a faithful user of Amika’s Un-Done Texturizing Spray until I found this! It’s amazing! I get so much volume and it lasts all night! I don’t even need to use hairspray with it. It smells great and doesn’t leave a film or feel sticky.

Works great on my fine hair. Just spray it where you want added volume and/or texture and it works. I was skeptical at first because of the price but should have known better as Eva NYC has other good quality products and they all deliver.

This product leaves a horrible flaky residue which made my scalp itch horribly, and got all over my clothes. I only wear black, so it looked like my dress was covered in dandruff. Not cute. As for the hold- It was fantastic for about 5 minutes until my hair fell flat again.

I made sure to work it into my roots but it just didn’t hold. I tried adding more, but the same thing happened again. So really all this spray did was make my hair feel dry and damaged. The one positive thing I will say is that this product smells AMAZING.

I would wear a perfume or lotion with its scent.

Don’t let the outer wrapping put you off. On opening this product, you are faced with what looks like a tub of custard. I was worried about placing this on my hair. But I did, and I’m so glad I did. Over the years, my permed hair has had a lot of curl and fizzy easing products on it.

This product is hands down the best one. The smell is not for me, but it’s not unpleasant. My top tips would be to start using a small amount and add more as your hair needs it. Will I be buying another jar? You bet I will.

I have found my perfect nappy killer! This product by far has been the best! I’m happy I can comb through my hair with a Plastic pic to the back n it does not break. I have very thick medium coarse hair.

This is the loveliest hair product I have purchased in years. It is non sticky, holds my curls beautifully and smells divine! It comes in a large tub and is definitely value for money. I will be throwing away heaps of unsuitable products out of my vanity and staying with this one! I will certainly be buying it again.

I recently did the big chop due to damage hair. I am a 4c so i decided to use this texturized to Loosen my curls and it Literally straighten my hair. I’m so upset

S curl is lovely on my hair, im a woman, i used to use hair relaxer but S curl is much better for my hair because it gives it a bit of curl, and its never burned my hair, my hair feels great after using it.

I have been approached by women complimenting me on my hair after using this. My hair looks healthy, just a minimal hint of shine, and great volume even though I have semi-thin hair. I’m fortunate I still have hair.

By the way, my hair is long on top and tight on the sides Kind of a like a semi-skin fade. It smells great when the product is in my hair. really great. I’ve heard from more people that they love the smell.

I see what they mean. It has a professional salon-like smell. I’ve been told that as well. In fact, several friends and family of mine all asked me what I was wearing that smells good, and I told them to smell my hair.

They all said, “yep. that smells really clean. ” I don’t want to compare this to other brands but I feel I would be holding back information that could help someone make a definitive decision, so here goes: I have tried Pacino’s, Dove, and Clubman mostly including numerous drugstore brands.

This seriously replaces all of them. Absolutely no competition. Reformer has the best smell, best hair volumizing properties, amazing shaping ability, and just a hint of shine. I mean the absolute slightest shine, while still appearing matte-like.

Lastly, it washes out so easily. Seriously, I feel that you will not regret buying this. One last thing. I can smell my own hair when wearing the product and I the strength of the smell definitely varies directly with the amount used.

So, start light and wear it for a few hours. The smell lasts all day. The smell complements whatever cologne you’re wearing. So far, this is the best hair paste I have tested.

I forget how I discovered this stuff but ever since it’s been a constant in my hair routine. A little goes along way so tread lightly guys! Applying it to mostly dry hair works best. When you apply it to damp hair, it doesn’t really seem to work into the hair but when applied to dry/semi dry hair its amazing.

its that effortless bed head (no pun intended) rockstar looking like you just rolled out of bed and gave no effort to your hair yet it still looks great look. hair stays in place but its still workable throughout the day.

i run my fingers through my hair constantly during the day (nervous habit) and my hair still molds and sculpts back to how i want it. the original container it came in was black with a pop up top that unscrewed i kind of prefer the old packaging better because i didn’t have to worry about losing the lid haha but in hindsight a lot of product would get caught underneath the crack of the lid so i guess this new packaging is alright i don’t know though i still feel like the packaging could use a better redesign but overall this is hands down my #1 hair product I’ve tried a lot of waxes and pomades and this is by far the best I’ve come to find.

byrd is a close second but the hold of byrd can’t really compare to bed head. i just need to find something now to give my hair a little bit of shine and a little bit of hold something to cocktail with this product would be ideal.

I bought this along with the B for Men Pure Texture Molding Paste. You can tell this is a wax once you get it in your hands. It’s tacky and makes your hands sticky but I love how it’s still lightweight and effective.

Along with the paste this product really helps bring out your layers. However, I suggest washing your hands in between using the paste and the wax because mixing the two may make them flake in your hands.

Either or both may not be good at cocktailing. You will also have to wash your hands once you’re done with the wax. My hair is coarse and thick so I may have to use more than necessary to make sure I get all of the layers in my hair and to help shape it.

The hold is pretty decent IMO. I think I may have to dip into hairspray so that my type of haircut and style really holds. This product is pliable and seems not to build-up at all. A day after using the paste and wax I brushed out my hair and no flakes whatsoever.

I naturally have a really dry scalp so not having to deal with flaking from styling products is a huge plus for me. Overall a great wax that I will never stop using!.

This is one of the better hair paste/waxes I’ve used. The label calls it a “workable wax” and at first glance its really hard white clay substance. It smells clean like a slight citrusy soap, nice and not overpowering shouldn’t interfere with any cologne one might wear.

So even though its hard at first once you scrape some on your fingertips it gets really malleable which is good using your finger tips to blend in your hair. Since I have really curly/wavy hair I comb it through my hair then fluff with my fingers.

My curls stay in control, but remain soft and natural looking. I work out doors , but neither sweat or the elements really affect the hold. Its very long lasting requiring minor touchups through an 8+hr day.

The only downside might be the price which can be $17 or more for a small tub. Still the longevity of it alone makes it worth it. I received this product for free, for testing purposes.

I am an avid Surface Hair product user and was elated to try the new blowout line. LovelySkin was the first site I found selling the products without the need for a cosmetology license. Of the three sprays in this product line (I have yet to try the shampoo and conditioner) this is my favorite and the product that really carries the line and is worth boasting about.

When using the texture spray I get extreme boost in volume at both my roots, and my ends, as well as everywhere in between. This is for both straightened and loosely curled hair (I have natural ringlet hair).

The look lasts for 8 solid hours with strong volume, hold, and a “freshly brushed” look. It also smells nice without being overwhelming and my hair still feels soft without any residue. Washes out easily.

Definitely will be buying and using this product for years to come.

This product is really good. I find with Surface products a small amount gives good results. This texture spray gives the volume without weighing down my hair. Also does not leave hair looking dry. Glad LovelySkin carries this brand.

Surface uses amazing ingredients in their products. This blowout spray helps give texture and helps my hair stay styled through the day. It does not smell the best but honestly it works so well it makes it easier to get over! Definitely one that will be repurchased.

I’ve embraced my natural gray and have naturally wavy hair that will get very bouncy curls with the right products. This is one of them. Without color, my hair is very soft and whispy, but this gives it just the right amount of texture, curl, and hold when I scrunch it in.

Not greasy or stiff. Plus, no overpowering scent. Great price, too, for the size of the tube.

I’ve been looking for a product that would give me the ability to separate & texturize without that “tacky-sticky” feeling, that most pomades do! I have short corse bleached hair & I just use a bit more than a pea size & whatever is left, I run it through at the roots for great lift!!! My hair looks great the next day too! Great for those frizzy hair days too! I’m so excited about this paste & I’m going to give the shampoo & conditioner a try!.

I use this product on my daughters 4C hair. So far I’ve used it to touch up her twists. I’ve used it to snatch her edges when she’s wearing it up in a ponytail. It has a light hold, and gives a fresh stunning, glossy sheen! I bought this because my daughter has a very sensitive scalp.

She can’t tolerate ANY dyes or perfumes what so ever. I mean none! So I love this whole line by Kristin Ess!.

This is absolutely incredible product worth every penny. Lasts long as little goes a long way. It is super versitile. I ise it either pre styling or post styling. It makes your hair salon like. It adds texture, bounce make your hair style lasts much longer without this crispness.

I have a bob cut and my hair is fine, so I use this product to give my hair the lift and oomph a bob cut needs. It leaves the hair a bit messy texture which is exactly what you need for backcombing and volume.

I think it washes out well, too as some other brand products don’t. Goes well with the dry shampoo from the same range.

I have always struggled to find a hair or texture spray that could hold curls or any type of styling in my dead straight hair. A Mecca makeup artist recommended this while I was in store and I’m so glad she did, it’s fabulous.
