20 Best Texturizer For Curls (2022 Updated)

I am very pleased with the results of this hair texturizer. I wear my natural curls 365 a year, STRICTLY. I wanted to show off my length of hair. Throughout the corona virus, I have kept my hair strands healthy and mostly wear a bun, on the top of my head.

Now, that it seems like America is opening up again, I feel the need to do something nice, different and upgrading to my hair. Right now, I want my hairstyle to reflect the way that I feel, with covid being almost ending.

I feel like I am coming out of the dark ages, because winter season and covid are ended. I want to begin enjoying all my natural length, that has grown much more than what I could notice. I liked the Exotic Oil Boost, included with the kit.

This helps me to know that I can safely apply chemicals to my natural 3a/3b hair strands. For this Spring/Summer 2021, I am definitely enjoying for myself every stretched inch of my curl pattern. This texturizer helps to boost my self-confidence to wear my out and down.

I am happy with my hair’s texture – smoother, softer, and easier to style – while still retaining my curl pattern, and a natural look and feel.

I LOVE IT. I was only trying it out, because I use different texturizers. But I liked the end result. Most texturizers get my hair too straight, this was PERFECT!

I have naturally curly hair, but have used this product after I straighten my hair and am on day 2 or 3 and want to give it that beach wave look. It doesn’t seem to do the trick. I have also tried using it after I’m on day 3+ of using the Le Duo or 32mm Wand.

I don’t think it does much for my waves. I did however, just read a post from jasmine Rae on how she uses this product BEFORE curling her hair to help give texture and grip for the curl to hang on too.

I am definitely going to try that. I have used another brand of the same type of spray and would have given it zero stars, because of how it left my hair feeling. This product is not as bad, but you have to keep in mind it is a sea salt spray.

If you been to the ocean, you know how the natural ocean water spray leaves your hair feeling. I’ve read comments how people are really disappointed about this l’ange product, but it is meant to give the same effect, so you can’t really be surprised at the feel it leaves behind!.

This is one of my absolute favorite L’ange products. I use it for a quick wash and go when I don’t have time to heat style. I have straight hair with no wave whatsoever, but with this product I can actually achieve a beach wave curl using no heating tools.

I let my hair airdry while I apply makeup then spay Sat and Sea on hair and scrunch a bit, let it dry up a bit then spray Troi Chic Hairsprayand scrunch some more. Instant Beach waves. I figured this out on vacation going from pool day to dinner with limited time to style, and I have been doing it ever since.

Smells so amazing and refreshing. Adds body and volume to any type of hair and is very lightweight, not sticky at all. Also great to use on 2nd and 3rd day hair to refresh style.

Salt and sea texturing spray is truly unique! The smell is like vacation puts me in a good mood! Day 1 use thermo heat protection before blow out and curl with Le Duo. Day 2-3 I lightly brush my hair using the Lange vent brush vertically lightly to like fluff my hair before I spray salt and sea.

I gentle run my fingers thru underside of my hair flip head over and it holds on to my curls!!😃 I absolutely love this spray. I’ve try others and they make my hair flat and feels heavy. Im amazed how it drys so quickly adds texture and holds my hair!! Still experimenting next I’ll try on wet hair before blow out see what happens!! Buy and enjoy!.

I have very thick, 3C/4A curls in a shorter afro cut (growing out a big chop). I really wondered how helpful this would be considering my density and texture. I sprayed it one one morning getting ready for work after my shower and it does what it says it does.

My hair looked shinier and more defined like I had restyled it with product but I had not. I wouldn’t put it at holy grail level but it does refresh the style with minimal effort. I am a product junky who would buy this again, especially the travel size for vacations/trips.

I really wish this worked for me because it smells heavenly and I love the packaging, but unfortunately, it just isn’t enough for my fine, oily roots. It doesn’t seem to absorb any oil; my hair feels pretty much the same with or without it.

That being said, I think it would work well for drier roots. It comes out completely invisible and does feel lightly moisturizing.

Found out about this product from my curly hair expert hairdresser. Her trick was to apply it on wet/damp hair. It helps speed up the drying process when diffusing & gives added volume. I have thin 2A-3B hair & it works like magic to define my curls & give them more volume.

The best advice I can give you when using this is do not overdo it! You want to use a couple of quick sprays scrunch up your hair and then be done with it. And honestly I would only use it on shorter hair.

My hair is about shoulder length now and it’s getting too long for me to use it. I feel like once my hair gets longer it just becomes a mess. It smells amazing, I do think that it doesn’t hold very well.

You can probably find better products for less price. I have found a few that I prefer to use. If you get stuck outside in the rainstorm and you get your hair wet this is going to get kind of clumpy.

I Only use this every once in awhile but it is a good product. It will do what it says it’s going to do. It’s just not my favorite product.

I’ve had this product for awhile. I used to try to make it work on my damp hair. I don’t have curly hair but was hoping it would add some texture or something to help my fine hair look a little fuller.

On damp hair, it just was yuck. Kind of felt grimy and stiff. So I put it in my bathroom cabinet and didn’t use for a long time. Then one day, after drying my hair, I wished I had something like a pomade to put on my dry hair to shape it or just anything for fluff and volume.

I gave this Texture Tonic a try and wow, did I love the results! I spritz it on and kind of use my fingers to shake my hair and mess it up. It gives my hair the look of volume, it dries quickly and just works.

I even like my hair the next morning when I wake up. I brush my hair and still have fluff to my hair. So glad I tried it on dry hair. I’ll continue to buy this product!.

I know smells are a very personal preference, but I LOVE the smell of this stuff. Even if the product didn’t work as well as it does, I’d find a way to use it for the smell, alone. It does a great job at cutting down some of the frizz and enhances my waves/curls very well.

It’s also easy for me to re-wet my hair on day 2 or 3 and spray with texture tonic and let it curl and set again. I don’t have much time to spend on my hair and this really helps give it a little bit of purposeful chaos instead of just looking like a fluffy mess.

I had high hopes for this product, but I don’t like the scent which reminds me of the suntan lotions I can’t stand. The day I tried to use it, I ended up pulling my hair back so that it wouldn’t disturb me.

Too bad. My son doesn’t like it either, and we both use salt spray texturizers from other companies. I couldn’t say if the product works in terms of adding texture. It’s strange. I wish companies would leave scent as a separate component.

Obviously I have other products with odors. I don’t want to have a dozen scents emanating from my face lotion, eye lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand cream, detangler, texturizer, serum, lip balm and goodness knows what else.

Much better to keep it simple.

My hair has turned white. I’m 70. And this spray actually does give my hair a little bounce, fullness, texture and curl. After washing I blow dry enough to keep it from dripping, and while still quite damp I lightly spray the sea salt texturizer from root to ends.

Then continually shake my hair and run my fingers through as it air dries. It’s very difficult to find products that actually give my new locks fullness and curl without weighing them down. This does a pretty good job.

But I must keep from using too much or it feels dirty.

OMG, I chopped off my thick, healthy long ‘past my shoulder length’ permed hair 3 and a 1/2 years ago so I can regrow my hair 100% natural. for that entire time I kept my hair in braids because my natural hair texture is really really thick and hard to manage.

My here is back to shoulder length now and I decided to try this texturizer because it claims to retain your natural texture but with a softer looser curl pattern. Lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all it took two boxes to do my hair and it completely straightened my hair.

In addition, it advises that you shouldn’t keep it on your hair for longer than 20 minutes and I only had it on my hair for 15 minutes! I should have just left my hair alone three and a half years ago because now it would have been down to my waist and permed right now! I would not recommend that anyone uses this product if you want to keep your hair natural.

I finally purchased this kit, after months of hesitation. There is nothing to mix, all in one tub and easy to apply. Also in the box was the neutralizing shampoo, a conditioner, gel and pink lotion. I applied the texturizer and kept it in for about 10 minutes and it came out well.

My hair is short, full and thick. I applied it quickly because I didn’t want it to over process. There were no stringy hair pieces but spiral type curls. Did not have that chemical smell, like most relaxer type products.

My goal was to loosen my hair a bit because it draws up quite easily. It stays full and curly, even when the DC humidity hits it. I washed it about four times, to ensure the product was completely removed.

I had no problems with the product-burning etc. It was very easy to use. My hair combs through better, with this texturizer. Although it is a chemical product, it didn’t feel harsh. I would use it again.

Very disappointed with this product, misrepresentation of results. wanted to loosen my natural curls and in less than 10 minutes I’m left with brittle dry straight hair. Al my hard work in maintaining my natural hair disappeared in under 10 mins.

Ive used this twice now. my hair was all natural in a 4b/4c texture. I leave it in for about 20 minutes ( my hair is very thick ) it makes your hair SUPER manageable. All you need to do is make sure that you dont leave it on for too long because you will get straight hair, better too use a perm if you want that.

The curls are usually activated on its own. however to keep it moisturized spray it will water everyday and put in a curl pudding and the Scurl gel, make sure to have your scalp moisturized with oil or grease every few days.

an application lasted me about 2 to 3 months before i noticed i had to use it again. It cost about $5. 99 Canadian so its a great price. also it makes your hair look so natural unlike a regular perm.

If your hair is a bit too thick and hard to manage but you still wanna have that natural look then this is for you !.

I used this product everyone I wanted curly hair. It works really well I’ve only ever had one problem with this product, they accidentally packaged the product wrong. If your worried about your hair falling out as long as you follow the directions you have nothing to worry about.

It says “do not use on colored/bleached hair, I didn’t listen and all the colored hair fell out after 3-4 months so I wasn’t bald or anything. Hair damage is nothing to worry about if you listen to the warnings.

I Would have gave 5 Stars but Mislead me. I love this product on my sons hair, however I normally purchase two kits because he has a lot of thick medium length hair. It’s cost is $3. 99 per box so I believed I purchased a deal when this box said it contained 2 Applications for $6.

Another product I have been using since I was a teenager. I am mixed so my hair is curly. I never like products that made my hair hard this product is not. It keeps moisture in your hair and my curls without making anything hard.

I’ve used this product before to help with moisturizing my hair, but I started realizing that once my hair was dry my curls were more defined (I have 3c/4a curl pattern). Other products I’ve tried before have never gave my curls more definition than this product has.

I’ve been natural for close to two years now and I’ve been trying to experiment with different types of products that’s suppose to ‘moisturize’ natural hair. Mine have several types going on in the type 4 category and I have dry skin, dry scalp, dry hair.

I’m just dry period. I was a kid in the 80’s and remember this stuff when the ‘Jerry Curl’ came out. I never had one but this was used everywhere! Even my parents had the Jerry Curl and used this. When I went natural a Sallys worker suggested I try this.

I immediately thought of the Jerry curl and was set against it. Since then I’ve been using this like the plague. I have a moisturizing spritz that’s pretty good but this is better. Since I’m now natural I will have to stock up on this stuff because it works.

This was my second time trying an [brand:ouai] product and this was highly recommended to me by more than one person. I first tried the and loved it. I need to get my hands on a fill size of that baby ASAP.

But I needed a new hairspray that did more for me than just “hold” my hair. This texturizing spray really adds dimension to my hair. I like to use my (that I’ve had since I was 12 by the way) and spritz this product into my roots to finish it off.

It really does make a difference and I’m glad I purchased this to add into my hairstyling routine. I did take away one star because the smell is. a lot. Its not bad, its just very fragrant and enough to turn some people away from buying.

I still haven’t decided if I’m going to repurchase this or not, but I’m happy with it for now, and time will tell!.

I bought the trial size, and the first time I tried it, I was immediately struck by how strong the fragrance is. I also found that I needed to spray a lot in my hair to see a noticeable effect compared to other texture sprays I’ve used.

I suppose this is actually more of a hair spray (for hold) and not as much of a texturizer. Anyway, about an hour after I applied it, my boyfriend came home and immediately commented on the strong smell which had filled the entire house.

He couldn’t stop coughing! We had to open all the windows, and I decided to wash my hair right away. I had to return this. There’s no way I could continue using it.

Pros: I have fine hair and this product is perfect for me. This is a light texture spray, so it doesn’t weigh my hair down & leave a waxy film. I love the clean smell. Yes, it’s strong, but lasts all day and I still smell it the next day.

Cons: it’s overpriced and the contents don’t last long if you use it every day. If the product lasted longer I wouldn’t have an issue with price. I recommend this product for those who have fine hair and don’t want a heavy texturized feel.

If you don’t like strong smells, this product is definitely not for you.

I have used this product for a very long time – years and years — loved it for my hair however, with the change in the overpowering perfume smell, I cannot recommend it. I did end up getting a small bottle – leaving pump off to see if I can get rid of that horrible, heavy perfume smell you decided to ruin this great product with.

People actually ask me what is that heavy smell? Hey, guys, it’s me and my Bouncy!! – Hope someone is listening — and you go back to what you had or no perfume at all. Most people DO NOT want that heavy smell.

Great curl enhancing spray to use when you want beachy waves or to just spruce up a tight natural curl going on. I love to spray it all through out my long hair after a shower and either let it get a loose wave or put it in a braid to sleep with.

Either way I get a nice effect of waves without a high perfume scent or product weighing it down to look chunky, dirty.

I have used the cream for years and it doesn’t weigh down your hair. If you use just a little bit and work it into your hair, it will give you a nice amount of curls. You can use the diffuser on your blow dryer and get a little more lift as well.

It has an awesome smell that I always get compliments on.

I have been using this product for at least two decades. I have super fine hair, and not much of it. After towel drying, I work in a good “glop” of Texturizer, combing it through from roots to tips. Then I blow dry, using a detangling brush with head upside down while drying.

As soon as my hair is dry, I stand up and voila, flowing locks. I have NEVER found a substitute for this product.

Only had time to use it once, but worked nicely on my naturally curly hair which never curls the same way twice and gets a little frizzy in damp weather. This product gives me the definition I was looking for without looking wet or oily.

I’m a fan of Sebastian products in general.

does ok for my 4c hair. The only thing I don’t like is I have to shampoo every 3-4 days because it’s get gummy and flaky. I would recommend to others. It last for me a few days. There’s always room for improvement.

Make it less gummy.

I went back to my natural roots two years ago. For this reason, I needed an non sticky activator Stylin’ Gel to go along with my other stylin gels. I found that this gel is a little too sticky for every day use.

So, I prefer to use after my two week washes. With this information, I hope it helps with ones buying decisions. The four rating is because the jar is smaller than my other stylin’ gels. Thanks Miss Kitty.

This is great for short (or medium) length natural hair. It’s really thick so you would have to dilute with water to use (and that makes it last longer) worth the money for a small jar. Doesn’t flake and gives your natural hair a nice sheen and keeps it soft.

P. S. It’s NOT just for men I’m a woman and I use it on my natural hair and I love it!.

My nephew’s hair looked great. Kit was easy – no fuss and little mess. His hair is a bit longer that the fellow on the box but the product worked nicely.

Works well for people with short hair as shown on the box. Why don’t they have an Appointment curl cream for afro hair? They have it for females I don’t know why they don’t have a male version. I can totally see why companies are unisexing more products now.

I ordered two boxes, one for now and one for later. When I received them, I found the tops of both of the texturizing cremes screwed off, and the contents of one of them had made a mess inside the box.

The other crème had become hard from prolonged air exposure. What a waste of money!.

I use Pro-line 11 Men’s Texturizer to make my hair manageable without completely changing the texture. It’s great also if you want deeper waves. Either way you’ll get a natural look. There are no unbearable odors either.

Recently went natural and remembered that I used this product for my son years ago, it worked just as well for me now as it did then. Would recommend.

I used to have naturally curly/wavy hair and now after many bleachings the curl pattern has disappeared. But with this product, I can spray a generous amount onto wet coarse hair (after my leave in) and flip my head upside down, scrunch it, and let it air dry.

Man I love the results! This will not leave you with curls so don’t expect that type of hair pattern! It will give you that fresh off the beach salty waves. There won’t be any crunch to your hair and honestly surprising that my hair isn’t a frizzy mess from the air drying but it never is.

I have tried blow drying with a diffuser with this product in and the results are very lackluster so I wouldn’t suggest that route. I also LOVE to spray this is in my hair, comb it through and sleep with 2-4 braids in and when I wake up in the morning and the braids are dry- I comb through my hair with my fingers and get the best texture and wave pattern.

I have naturally wavy/curly hair that I spent years straitening, but now I have embraced the curls. One of my daughter’s friends introduced me to this spray several months ago, and now I use it every day.

First, I apply a volumizing curl mousse, mostly at the roots, then flip my head upside down and spray this all over to make sure I have good coverage. I then lightly scrunch my hair, end to root, then let it air dry while I apply make-up, fix munches, etc.

I then use my diffuser to fluff and define. I absolutely love the results and my hair is not sticky, greasy, or stiff. I will admit, my hair feels a little dry, but I can’t say it is the fault of this spray, but most likely a combination of products, styling processes, and environmental factors.

Don’t expect this to miraculously create curls or waves without a little work to help create them.

this product is so effective and a little product goes a LONG WAY! i barely made a dent in my jar and i used it for the first time today to style my wash and go in sections. i have tight curls with coarse surface texture.

i made sure to warm up a pea to dime size of product in my hands by emulsifying then applied on wet hair. i layer on top with i create hold and i’m left with beautiful definition that’s soft and has a bit of fluff and volume.

i would totally recommend this product. the fragrance is heavenly too! it’s so delicate, i love it.

My hair was up in braids for about 4 years, I took them out with the intention of relaxing my hair. Once the braid were out, I loved the length, but not the extensive greys and the unruly mane. I decided not to use a typical , “relaxer” as in the past relaxers have damaged my hair.

My hair dresser suggested that I use a texturizer. So,, being an organic aficionado, I went searching for something like that for my hair. I stumbled across Innersense whipped cream texturizer. Well one application and a moderaterly temperatured flat iron later and voila.

My hair is silky, smooth, strong and so very easy to style. No harsh chenicals envolved. It’s been almost a week and the onlly thing I have to do is wrap myhair in a silk scraf at night and in the morning, still relaxed and beautiful.

Section your hair into about 4 different sections, apply a dime size amount of Quiet Calm from roots to tip (repeat for all sections), follow with your Whipped Cream Texturizer and follow the same process.

After all the products are applied spray your hair with water again and rake your fingers through your style from root to tip. Scrunch your curls with your hands and then to scrunch the excess water out scrunch your hair with a towel.

Wash & Go Style #2- Whipped Cream Texturizer (The way that I would recommend you to style your hair is once outside the shower on very damp hair section your hair into about 4 different sections, apply a dime size amount of Whipped Cream Texturizer from roots to tip (repeat for all sections).

After the product ia applied spray your hair with water again and rake your fingers through your style from root to tip. Scrunch your curls with your hands and then to scrunch the excess water out scrunch your hair with a towel.

I’ve been using this relaxer for over 20years. It hasn’t damaged my hair and its better than S-curl or sny other mens relaxers.

Best mousse I have ever used in my natural Loy curly hair. A tiny bit goes a very long way unlike most others. My hair is soft without being frizzy, looking crunchy or wet. Fantastic product! The price is steep but it lasts bc less is needed.

My hair stylist recommended this for my 3A curly hair. My hair is very fine and it seems every product weights down my hair and takes away my curls. Not this! This is a dream come true product! It defines my curls and gives my hair body! I can use a diffuser for “bigger” hair or let air dry and am never disappointed.

I have had a life time of product disappointment until now! It’s a bit pricey but so worth it!!.

i have fine, wavy and oily hair. my fav way to use this is to spray on damp roots before i blow dry for volume. it’s also great on dry hair. it is pretty drying when used on dry hair, but honestly that’s a plus since i’m oily.

it gives nice grit and a little grip too. smell is very strong (but nice) coconut. i’m not easily overwhelmed by strong smells and this one still gets to me a little. it’s really only an issue while spraying it.

once it settles down in your hair it’s very yummy!.

HG texture spray for me. Nothing gives my wavy baby fine hair volume like this. I spray only at the roots. The scent is strong like IGK’s dry shampoo (my other HG) so I am lucky that I am not sensitive to smell.

I’ve used Oribe texture spray before and it did nothing for me, made my hair feel sticky and gross. IGK does not do that in my hair. Yes, it’s obvious you have product in there, but the volume I get is incomparable.

Even though I have wavy hair I don’t spray this beyond my roots as I think it would be too heavy for that application.

I was looking for a product that was a dry texture spray and would provide volume to my short pixie hair. I came across this at Ulta and decided to give it a try. I absolutely love it! I spray this on after as a last product, and it really does give my hair volume and lift that I was looking for.

I’ve tried other textured sprays, but they were wet/gel and actually flatten my hair. So, this product was truly amazing, which I would definitely recommend, especially my “pixie hair” people:).

If you spray it in your hands first and then distribute the product in your hair you’ll get nice definition and control. Also, I use a microfiber turban towel and make sure that my hair is still really damp if not totally wet when I start applying the spray gel.

If I let it dry too much my hair won’t lay nicely. I have the type of frizzy wave/curly pattern that requires hold. I can’t use oils, creams or moisturizers alone otherwise my hair is out of control.

My hair is so high maintenance but I think most naturally curly haired people would say the same. If you want an equivalent for $5 Garnier makes a spray gel. I stopped using it when they added sulfates but they must’ve gotten enough feedback because the ingredient list no longer contains SLS.

I’ll be switching back to Garnier once I finish my bottle of Redkin.

I have used many different Redken products and am never disappointed; the curvaceous line they have is another excellent line they have for my curly waves that conditions my curls without weighing them down.

It’s definitely best to use a line all together as the companies always say you see better results all together. I have been using this reactivating spray the second day after it’s been washed to do exactly that: reactivate my curls without having to wash my hair all over again, and do all the necessary steps it takes me to get my curls.

The second day after my hair has been washed and styled I use a comb and just softly comb through my hair so I do not mess up my hair. Anyone with various curls know that the moment curly hair is brushed through it turns into a giant lion’s mane of frizziness and is such a nightmare to tame.

I spray mid shaft to ends and scrunch all of my hair to let my hair become kind of damp but only so that I know the hair is being penetrated with the spray. I absolutely love the smell of this spray; it’s like a beachy smell but still smells like the signature curvaceous line I love! Love love love!.

I’ve tried a lot of curl boosters for my fine, thin, wavy hair. Most either are too stiff, too greasy, don’t control frizz, or don’t do anything for curly/wavy hair. This product answers all of those concerns.

It’s most effective, I have found, when applied to wet hair that’s allowed to air dry. Under those conditions it leaves my hair soft, the curls are able to be separated, the curls stay lively and aren’t weighed down by being made greasy.

My only two complaints are: that if it’s applied to dry hair, it can make hair a little crunchy, and bind the strands until a painful brushing, or until it’s washed out. The second is that if I used my blow dryer with the diffuser attachment just to speed the drying process a bit, I have to add a smoothing product as well.

Otherwise, this is the curl spray I’ve been hoping to find for a long, long time.
