20 Best Tf2 Trade Server (2022 Updated)

In general, it appears to be made to look and function in a foolproof manner for the casual home user. But as you peel off the layers, you start to see that it is dangerously lacking in data preservation tools.

As an example — I moved all disks from one ASUSTOR system to another. Easiest thing to do per ASUSTOR’s documentation to migrate your existing data to a larger or newer system. Except that the system did not behave like what the document said.

but warned that it will wipe all existing data on the disks! Luckily, I had a full copy on an external disk I could restore from. As for NAS performance, the throughput is decent. The UI is intuitive and easy to navigate for the most part.

Apps can be downloaded to the system — photo sharing, DLNA, etc. — which makes it much more than just a file-server with UNC paths. I especially like the SSD caching function for random reads/writes (you need 2 separate SSDs for that, or one SSD for read-caching).

But if you decide to buy this, you are probably better off keeping a full copy of your data elsewhere at all times. Not because the hardware is unreliable, but because the software is a hit-or-miss. It does not provide clarity and lacks the tooling required to preserve your data as you swap disks, move them to another system or upgrade them.

I am running this NAS with two 6tb iron wolf drives in a Raid 1 config. So far so got. It was easy to set up. The things I had to learn were the different ways of creating backup schedules, mapping network drives, using some of the apps and how to use the Cloud access via the internet, but that would be similar with any other NAS.

The NAS looks good, performs well, currently only serving the role of remote storage but I do have it connected to a keyboard and monitor so that I can play around with its HDMi capabilities. I have tied a few of the Asustor mobile apps to access the Nas remotely.

So far so good. I like it but I don’t have any previous NAS experience with other products. I pick this device to have future proof hardware (i. e. 4 bays for expansion, Celeron quad core and ram upgradeability as well as 2x 2.

5gbe ethernet ports.

Works OK, but the setup isn’t all that easy. You have to setup via the browser and security rules make that difficult. A fully capable MacOS/Windows 10 app would be an improvement. The cloud storage sync app doesn’t support multiple cores so is very slow to download files despite having three CPU core idle.

Does all the typical NAS functions. The unit itself is very quiet (the drives you put in it are a different story). Overall, a solid but not polished user experience.

The QNAP TS-451D2 NAS solves a long-standing problem of where to save backups in my home business network that comprises 3 Windows PCs (two of which are mobile) and 2 smartphones. I am also decommissioning an old Western Digital TV LIve Hub media server.

The QNAP TS-451D2 NAS will hold all that media as well. I don’t have it all working yet, but the NAS provides the storage foundation while letting me clear the desks of all the USB external hard drives.

I installed a mix of drives, i. e. 3 x WD and 1 x Seagate, in a mix of capacities, i. e. 1 x 8 TB and 3 x 4 TB drives, and a mix of grades, i. e. 2 x Red (NAS quality), 2 x desktop quality, etc. The NAS accepted them all.

Unfortunately, under QNAP’s RAID-5 implementation, the total storage is determined by the smallest drive in the group. Thus, even though I have a total of 20 TB installed, RAID-5 is only using 16 TB from which the RAiD-5 provides 12 TB of addressable user storage, which is 10.

92 TB in binary units. The ability to upgrade capacity in place does works. My initial configuration was 8 TB+4 TB+4 TB+3 TB. I later freed-up another 4 TB drive and used to replace the 3 TB drive. The procedure is documented online.

It is not difficult, but it also not drop-dead obvious, so read and follow carefully. Be prepared for the process to take *many* hours and as the capacity of drives increases, the timeframes get longer.

Eventually, I will replace all the 4 TB drives with 6 TB or 8 TB. That process will take several days. The Plex Media Server is working beautifully on the QNAP TS-451D2 NAS. Streaming over Wi-Fi throughout the house is smooth using the Plex Windows App.

I am disappointed in the QSync app for Android for two reasons: 1. It does not backup *everything* on the phone. So it is not the disaster recovery solution I had hoped for. It is a “sync” solution only and I already use Resilio Sync for that.

2. You need to configure individual subfolders one by one. It doesn’t let you sync Android’s main Internal storage folder, which would at least sync all user data with a single setting. So I am still looking for a high quality solution to backing up the smartphones.

Despite a few minor nits, overall, I am very pleased with the QNAP TS-451D2 NAS. In the few weeks that I’ve been using it, is has been trouble-free and working completely as documented.

I’ve owned QNAP before and given the software is not as good as Synology’s I chose this for, the hardware spec and price point which for me represents good value. There are tow things to bear in mind when buying QNAP.

The first thing I do when buying new hardware like this, is update the firmware to the latest stable version. This one came with 4. x which I upgraded to the new 5. x. I recommend you DON’T DO THIS until version 5.

x is a few releases more into the cycle. I use this to host my Plex server on, now the older version of Plex that can be installed works fine. But recent versions of Plex have a nicer UI and Categories for Movies which I use a lot of.

Later versions of Plex seem to run slow as and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve run Plex on a Pi as a docker container and never had issues so wtf. The library scans are also ridiculously slow on the NAS, my music collection took over 24 hours which is just ridiculous.

I abandoned the Plex idea and installed the Photo software that comes with the QNAP. As soon as I did, the NAS slowed down to a crawl. Looking at the system processes, I had heap of zombie processes(not good).

Did some investigation and turns out there is some kind of malware that can be installed with some versions of the QNAP Photo software. Whether this has now being fixed I’m not sure, but its not what I would expect from a reputable company.

Anyway, it was eating too many system resources. A reboot sorted the issue for an hour or so then it came back. That did it, I went back to my Asustor until QNAP fixes these bugs. QNAP needs to do better on the software side.

They should follow Synologies lead and optimize the software better for its platform. QNAP has excellent hardware, but the software seems to have gone downhill since I last owned one. If you want a basic NAS for storage and maybe stream music and Video, Asustor have some good offerings, software ain’t great but for the price you pay its not bad.

If this is your first NAS then this will be a good experience getting into the nitty bitty grits these NAS has to offer. ADM is easy and intuitive to learn. Has a decent processor for plex transcoding.

I have setup VMs in this NAS to load balance my servers. It runs great! I Just had to upgrade the RAM from the 4gb it came with to 8gig for the setup and tasks that I intend to run. Good NAS. Good app store and plentiful features to dig into.

I’ve built 3 of these for medical clinics, I got it with a RAID Card and ran ESXi with it. Server is super fast, doesn’t skip a beat, and doesn’t glitch out. AMD chips provide very good multitasking for cheap.

Setting up a SSD RAID 10 I was able to get 1800MB/s in IO.

I don’t think that I’ll ever go back to the brand names. I’ve saved my employer (professional services, 250 employees) almost $100k in server refresh by sticking with white box Supermicro. In a recent example, we wanted some lightweight servers with redundant power supplies.

You simply can’t get that from Dell, HP or IBM without getting spendy.

I appreciated the link to the Microsoft Partner website that proved the company’s status. I saw other sketchy vendors WITHOUT such links (though claiming to be authorized MS resellers) offering lower prices.

There was nothing to complain about re the speed of acknowledging & processing the order, and issuing the product license after I responded to their email inquiry for more info on the licensee. I was impressed with the quantity and applicabilty of the instructions (with links to further documentation and how-to videos) that came with the emails, very helpful for someone navigating the fussy procedures for the first time => everything a customer needs to be successful.

Indeed, I would not have been able to get the license server working correctly without the instructions, of which some seemed counterintuitive in part, yet turned out to be necessary.

I am a musician/ animator and after many years of using the industry standard Apple products and paying an arm and a leg for proprietary gear that still doesn’t have the specs I need at the price point I want, I succumbed after doing some research.

I saw that gamers have been on PC for years and the specs seemed great. I picked this comp bc my Mac died and I needed a quick solution. Now this computer isn’t THE worst but I can see now why folks stick with Apple and that pains me to say that.

I am a pretty tech savvy enough guy but locating all the folders for my plugins and vst’s is a nightmare. I spent 3 days uninstalling and re installing stuff I have been using for years. I watched all the tutorials on trouble shooting my issues.

all were sound advice but it was only through accidental mishaps that things worked eventually. The keyboard it comes with is garbage as is the mouse. The mouse started turning up the volume on the scroll wheel.

I uninstalled that driver like the vids said to no avail so I have literally tossed it out the window and gone back to my old mouse. The screen is ok but if you want to play any sound outside of your ear phones the sound is total garbage.

I think if you are a 13 year old gamer this computer would be alright otherwise save yourself some time and money and either build your own computer or just save for the Mac you actually want.

I don’t not recommend this computer was the worse I have ever purchase, I return it. it has nothing like wifi, hdmi. and when i check the memory are so expensive about $379. 00 each. you would need to buy everything separate.

this computer doesn’t come with nothing that is so important in a computer. it was made for you to spend a lot of money by buying the pieces separately.

Five stars for out-of-the-box performance and ease of adding hard disk(s). One star lost because you really, really need to be careful adding third-party memory. Better to pay the overhead for Dell memory sticks.

Otherwise, the thing is a real barn burner.

This was my first foray into the ebook world and after researching the subject before looking on Ebay this Sony seemed to tick all the boxes that I was after. Extremely neat and stylish and very easy to use as you would expect from a Sony.

It’s dimensions are that of what would be most recognisable as a medium size paperback only extremely slim. It is able to utilise the following formats of publications for reading: EPUB eBook, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, TXT, RTF, BBeB.

It has a touch sensitive screen which is great allowing you to turn the pages by swiping your finger in the manner of turning a page in a regular book, and a stylus is also provided should you wish to use that instead of your finger for a more defined usage of the touch screen as it can record your stylus movements and handwriting in the form of notes something which maybe useful to some people particularly if studying a book.

There are also buttons that allow you to turn the pages that way should you not wish to touch the screen at all. It has a good built in memory enough for around 350 eBooks and also two different expansion slots for SD and Memory Stick Duo cards so you are able to expand your library as you need to.

It has a very useful instant bookmark allowing you to continue reading from the last page of the last book you were last reading. It also allows the user to store and play music (through headphones) or other popular media files including MP3 and AAC audio.

There is a built in dictionary allowing you to tap a word on screen bringing up a dictionary definition. The screen itself and quality of the display is superb and allows you to change between five different font sizes for easier reading and can be read from almost any angle in sunlight in a very easy on the eye 8 level grey scale.

It also displays book covers extremely well and can store image files in various formats (JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP). It comes with a neat neoprene protective case which is basic but does the job. The only disapppointing thing I have found is that there is no backlight to the screen so a separate light source is definitely required for any late night reading.

Battery use is extremely low witha four hour charge lasting for approximately 7500 page turns. The unit comes with a USB cable that charges and syncs the reader at the same time utilising the built in eBook library software.

It would be useful at times to have a separate AC adapter but it doesn’t come equipped with one, although they are readily available accessories. All in all I have been extremely impressed since I have had my PRS-600 and cannot recommend it highly enough for ease of use and features and most importantly the price.

It has a great battery length and the built in memory is more than enough for all my needs.

This is my first eReader and I bought it to travel on Holiday with – there were a number of issues. It wouldn’t take a charge from a 12v Car-Type USB adapter, in fact it appeared that when connected to this kind of device charge was actually lost! The adapter charged phones and Camera’s OK, just not this.

7000 page turns! That’s a laugh,I’ve actually calculated the turns I did with it now and it was down on the last bar with only around 2000-2200 turns – I don’t think it would have reached 3000 on a full charge (couldn’t finish the charge as See above!) It’s actually quite uncomfortable to hold and operate, particularly single handed.

I found this quite suprising (I think this might be true of all eReaders though since they all follow the same physical format so I think to say this is a problem unique to this device would be unfair – it’s just VERY different to holding a book.

) I could show Sony (and other manufacturers of these devices) a thing or two about ergonomics! Take note Amazon!!! Screen Glare can be a problem, very easily solved by moving the eReader but this may not end up being the most comfortable position, particularly lying down in limited space with an unmoveable light source (I was on a boat).

Functionally, I think it’s OK, it’s quite easy to use though I gave up using Sony’s software to load stuff on it and use the open source (and excellent) Calibre software instead. The screen is clear and easy to read, and it’s fairly quick once it’s turned on and has done its indexing.

I’m not into its gimmicky features, MP3 and annotations – why bother? I don’t annotate my hard copy books, why would I do so with an ebook? Get rid Sony! Its a READER not a WRITER – duh! I suppose some people like listening to music whilst reading so I suppose that feature is OK for them but it will only cut further into an already highly unimpressive battery life.

Overall, now I’m aware of it’s limitations, I think its an OK product and I can work round it’s shortcomings, It was lucky that on this holiday I’d also taken 4 hardcopy books and my wife had another 2 and since the major issue was the inabliity to charge it I’ll happily take it with me again but with a real (non-USB) charger this time.

Having said that I won’t be giving up hard-copy to buy more ebooks anytime soon.

The software was original packed and sealed. I used a basic Dell T20 server for this application. The software installed without any problems, some additional drivers needed to be installed, which have been available at the Dell support site.

R2 is the important version of this MS Server software 2008 which makes this installation possible. The setup works nicely as an FTP server now. I can recommend this software for an inexpensive server set up if you don’t want to go into the cloud.

Sideboard ends up looking great and quality is as one might expect for the price. But–the amount of work required to put this together is one rung shy of brain surgery. I had very qualified and capable workers put two of these together and the 2 I ordered required more than 8 hours of assembly time—and I was present for the majority of it.

Honestly–it is a huge undertaking with VERY poor instructions. —Again, if you are someone who loves a good puzzle—you will end up with a great looking piece for the price.

This product has breathed new life into my expensive HD broadcast lenses. I can go back to shooting documentaries as I grew up doing with a REAL zoom lens that tracks and and aperture ring on the lens!.

These envelopes are just the thing for packing my Marvel Essential and DC Showcase books to sell online. The price is a bargain.

Works well and is a flexible mount system that also incorporates a solution for EF mount lenses

If you have experience in at least three different versions of Microsoft Windows Server versions, old to new, this is a very powerful operating system that is still widely used for databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and for app servers (IIS, etc.

) that will serve you well for the money. Skip the later operating systems unless you have a specific need/requirement, and go with this. This is also an excellent solution if you want to use virtual machines on some older but still powerful hardware.

I recommend any of Oracle Virtualbox, VirtualPC, or VMWare to use with this OS for those images.

An excellent e-reader which allows you to buy your e-bokks from a variety of on-line retailers (unlike the kindle which ties you to Amazon) The interface is really user friendly and in use is very similar to the Apple iPhone/iPod interface.

The unit doesn’t have wi-fi or 3G so all purchases have to be done on your PC and then transferred to the reader, but I personally don’t view this as a problem. The touchscreen feature works well with the page refreshing very quickly The build quality is excellent and the reader feels more robust and substantial than similar units I looked at from other manufacturers, although this does mean the Sony is slightly heavier as a result.

The only small negative is that the surface of the reading panel is prone to reflections, although in use I have found that this just means that a small change of the angle you are holding the reader at solves this issue.

The customer service from Waterstones was first class with the item arriving quickly and having been well packaged to prevent any damage in transit.

I have owned a different companies laptops for years, and they were incredible. I never had a Lenovo but heard great things about them, so I purchased one, other than a black screen once in a while the computer has been fine.

About six months ago, I purchased an extra AC Adapter to use my laptop in another room. I can’t believe this company sells such great computers, but an important accessory is such junk. The power cord has to be perfectly aligned and Very still to stay connected.

As long as I don’t move the cord or computer it continues to charge the computer, but move either, and it disconnects.

This is the worst, most fragile adapter i have ever owned in 20 years of laptop ownership. I bought this as replacement for the one that came with my laptop. It broke after 2 months. The replacement broke after 1 month.

It is really sad to see such an excellent computer laid low by such an abysmal adapter. For my first month i was absolutely enchanted by the computer i bought. I am about to buy my third adapter. If it craps out, all my goodwill for this brand will be gone and i will describe Lenovo as the company that builds incredible pieces of art, because you sure as heck are not going to be able to use anything they make as a computer because to can’t figure out how to make a piece of technology that has existed for 40+ years last more than 4 weeks.

i got an email saying i should write a review so here I am – it’s a charger. i don’t know what else to say, if you need a charger, this’ll work fine. got the fancy yellow rectangle thingy that’s fun to plug in and the outlet-to-block cord that’s identical to the original.

is it exceptional? no. it’s like a solid 1/1. it does what it needs to do and it does it pretty well – if you’re actually looking for something deeper than that, go read someone else’s fancier review.

I haven’t used any MS Server products in decades, since NT4/2000 era. I wanted to learn all of the ins and outs, plus have another home server in addition to my linux box. The price was nice, and I didn’t need to buy any CALs for what I intended of it.

It is limited compared to the standard version, but for what I intend, the less expense was a good trade off. For a small business that needs a file server, email server, web server, and want/need active directory, this works great.

I know there are other solutions, cough, Linux, cough, but this isn’t a bad solution, either. Right now, I have this running on an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Gigabyte B450M MB, 32GB RAM, 500GB WD NVMe with 3 1TB WD Blue drives in RAID5.

Nice cheap Windows Server chugging happily along. Server Essentials 2019 on better hardware would run exceedingly well.

I’m glad I bought from Trusted Tech Team. They have great support and fast responses with orders and questions. Microsoft is a terrible company though. Buy the OS and then buy access for each person to use the software you already paid for.

They can’t go out of business soon enough. We are moving to Linux to avoid their greedy price gouging business practices. Windows desktop/server are awful in almost every way. Terrible broken documentation, band-aided buggy ancient features and apps, nothing works as their instructions specify, constant disregard for customer preferences, awful support, etc.

The Microsoft Licensing model is very confusing and can be costly. If you are a non profit Microsoft has generous price cuts through tech soup. Because windows server is a traditional software model you will need to maintain it and upgrade it after the product is replaced with the next version.

If you have over 20 employees and want the fastest possible access to files than Windows server is probably well suited. Many on site software solutions also require running on Windows server as well.

Windows Server is being used across 3 clients that I manage. It is primarily being used as a Domain Controller (with Active Directory), DNS server and file server. In addition, some clients are using the Hyper-V functionality built directly into Windows Server to create a virtual domain controller.

In the organization that I manage that are using Windows Server, All business computers are apart of the Domain created by Windows Server and users are authenticated against the Active Directory.

Software was easy to set up but I’ve been doing this for years. If you are a novice then I would suggest allow some time for learning and trial and error the installation can be confusing at times. Once installed all updates were applied and software was activated by MS.

The product was new, never activated and setup was very easy. Thank you.
