20 Best Thermal Coffee Carafes (2022 Updated)

This review is only for the 10 cup thermal carafe that fits several cuisinart coffee makers with a button valve under the grounds cup. This carafe has a lid which presses against the button so the coffee flows into the carafe.

It also has a gravity/flotation device which is supposed to seal the coffee in the carafe. The thermal stainless steel jar keeps the coffee hot without using a heating pad for a day or so. It gets progressively cooler and the coffee is definitely cold after 2 days.

It still tastes pretty good the first day so that is a good thing. The coffee flows without taking the lid off or pressing a latch which is convenient, although the last bit of coffee in the pot is hard the pour out without removing the lid.

I don’t think that is inconvenient because I rinse out the pot as soon as I empty it anyway. Cleaning the pot to remove dried on scum is less convenient because you have to use a brush to get inside the opening.

I have used it for only a short time so far but it is stainless steel and looks like it is rugged enough to last a long time. I tried brewing coffee with a glass carafe and the process is messy because of the button valve under the grounds which must be pressed in for the coffee to come out.

Only the thermal 10 cup has the proper shape to fit the grind and brew 10 cup coffee maker. The coffee maker itself is finicky. I believe the carafe will outlast the coffee maker.

I hate this carafe! Two significant design flaws outweigh any positives. It is very messy. The spout spills. Every. Time. Pour over the sink if you don’t want to clean spills. Even worse-you have to turn it upside down to get the last cup or two out, and since I only brew 4 cups when I’m by myself, this wastes a great deal of coffee for me, especially when you add in the spout spillage.

Come on Cuisinart! Send me your concept carafe that fixes these problems, so I can change this post to reflect the usual Cuisinart quality.

The thermal pot is very durable and keeps coffee made in it nice and hot. However, the lis design is horrible. The coffee does not pour well out of the spout and when used to get the last cup out of the pot, it had to practically be turned completely upside down – even then, if the lid is completely removed you can still pour out a good amount that remains.

Even with the poor lid design, the coffee pot is worth purchasing if you can live with the design flaws.

I bought this carafe to use for Turkey gravy. I prepared it as instructed by pouring hot water into it and letting it sit for a few minutes. I then poured all of my turkey gravy into it. It poured beautifully.

Best alternative to a gravy boat ever. Used it at the table. Looked nice. Gravy HOT like everyone likes it and held all of the gravy from the pot i made it in. You will not need to get up and down for refills.

I put carafe in the fridge afterwards and i kid you not the gravy was still warm in the late morning when i went to put it in tupperware. Truly amazing. Highly recommend. Paid full price for it as Canadian Tire flyers can be tricky and was drawn to it because i thought it was on sale but went too early i guess for the Boxing Day price.

Which is the usual for me. Great for transporting hot stuff to events as well.

This Thermos brand Carafe is better than the previous (non-Thermos brand) carafe I purchased just about a month ago. It keeps the boiling hot water for my tea and instant coffee perfectly all day! It holds 1 liter of liquid (hot or cold, your choice) which is better than a glass lined carafe.

No issue with potential breakage of a glass liner if the carafe is dropped. It is so easy to clean due to it’s nice WIDE opening. It will be perfect for when I take long distance trips and want to have hot soup or stew along the way, enough for two! I like the brushed exterior finish as it does not show fingerprints from handling.

It was well worth the purchase!.

This is a replacement for a Thermos Stainless Steel Vacuum insulated Carafe (slightly different design) which I had for over 20 years and which was lost in a fire last fall. It keeps beverages hot or cold for extended periods as advertised and I was actually excited when I found this replacement for the carafe which was lost.

Keeps coffee hot for hours. Nice heavy construction. Would recommend!

Very sleek-looking, with nice finish. It keeps our tea nice and hot for several hours. We haven’t been able to try the 24-hour test (as advertised on the label) because we drink lots of tea, so have to refill it often.

This is our second Zojirushi – the first one was broken accidentally and we did not even consider a different brand. We use it everyday for our morning coffee – either hot or iced. This thermos keeps your hot beverage piping hot or your cold beverage cold for hours, balances well on a tray, is aesthetically pleasant to look at and is the perfect size.

It is also works well on both a formal or casual table. For the price, it is a great value.

This Zojirushi Brand Carafe is exactly what I wanted. My goals were to find the perfect sized carafe which would hold two large cups of tea or coffee, easy to use, AND keep it HOT! To boot, this Zojirushi is beautiful.

I like to drink warm water so I bought a Zojirushi water boiler (not from qvc since it’s sold out). I used to have to go to the kitchen every so often to fill my cup and it’s not fun when your kitchen floor is cold.

When I got this Zojirushi thermal carafe I immediately used it to hold hot water @ 200 temperature. Omg, I wished I had purchased this sooner. (It has been on my wish list for over a year) The hot water was still hot 10 hours later.

I can still make a cup of tea from it. And 15 hours later, the water is still warm. And it’s so easy to use and clean. The handle has a button that you press to open and closed the spout. This is the best carafe I’ve purchased, period!.

I like this carafe, it really does keep my tea hot for a long time. It’s easy to clean with a bottle brush, sometimes just a rinse does the trick. Light-weight, easy to open/close and pours with a touch of the tab.

It is sleek. I tried some better looking carafes, but they leaked and didn’t pour well. I am very satisfied with this one.

Love it’s -I wanted a cheap carafe to keep my tea hot, and since I have several Zojirushi items (electric hot water kettle, 2-3 hot/cold travel mugs, rice cooker) I went with this one. I also liked that it stated clearly that it’s made in Japan, which is also stamped on the bottom of.

Replaced a 10+ year old thrift shop purchase. Much lighter and sleeker design. Easy to use. Keeps morning brew of coffee HOT all day until I rinse it out for use the next day.

We recently began supplying coffee to a catering business and needed to also supply the brewer and carafes. After a lot of research on brewers I whose one that worked with these carafes as it DID NOT have a warmer.

A warmer makes burning the coffee really easy. This carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours WITHOUT burning it. (It honestly is something that everyone comments on “its magic! It doesn’t get cold”) It is also easy to clean and looks slick.

We applied our business sticker to the exterior for branding purposes, but it was tricky due to the curved nature of the carafe. One down side, some folks think the lid is upside down when it is installed properly, so it is something we addressed when we set it up in a facility that we were not actually making the coffee in.

Just leave the power ON/burner switch off and pour in the water with the now extra glass decanter. Perfect for an outside patio or outdoor kitchen. This carafe will keep your coffee warm enough to drink till next morning.

Amazing quality, well designed with the lid and spout.

These things are pretty tough. I have had them hold good hot temps for upwards of 6 hours. These have no glass inside so they can be dropped smashed whatever and still probably be good. I’ve tried alot of other options, I know this one pretty expensive, but long term so much cheaper since I doubt I will have to replace!.

I believe, after years of ownership, that this carafe gets a majority of good reviews because the actual coffee maker (mine is DCC1200 model) itself is so good. good basic features, heats water properly for brewing, well ranked in Csmr reports; HOWEVER: the carafe is VERY FRAGILE, AND EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE! Also I have not been able to find a generic replacement that fits the maker or sits properly on the heat plate.

I like the removable lid for easy washing, but, as other reviewers have stated, IT LEAKS WHEN YOU POUR IF YOU POUR TOO FAST! you must pour slowly, especially when it’s full. And DO NOT TAP IT AGAINST OTHER GLASSWARE, HARD SURFACES, PORCELAIN SINKS, GRANITE COUNTERTOPS, ETC.

IT BREAKS VERY EASILY. Do NOT put silverware in it when you wash or soak. So, even though I like the coffee maker very much, THE CARAFE IS THE ACHILLES HEEL, OR CUISINART’S “CASH COW” HOWEVER YOU LOOK AT IT.

Another note: I strongly recommend saving money on their expensive filters and use your own filtered or bottled water – We use water from a PUR countertap tap-style dispenser. I’ve probably paid twice over the price of the coffee maker for the replacement carafe’s cost, I just love the coffee maker and cuisinart appliances in general, so this is how they “getchya!” like the replacement blades of the razor industry.

So I would give the coffee maker four out of five stars (one less for this carafe) but the carafe in general only one star. Buyer beware! if you want a good coffee maker and have kid gloves, great. But there may be quality coffee makers with more rugged (stainless steel?) carafes out there.

While this is a wonderfully made carafe, it is not the same for as the one the one that came with the DGB-800 model. Apparently, they don’t make that exact one anymore!! How disheartening!! This carafe fits but it’s a tighter fit and can create a mess when trying to use the coffee maker’s pause brew option when pouring a cup midway.

For now, we will keep this option bc there are no there replacements that work and we love our grind and brew. Terrible shame that cuisinart decided to get rid of the carafe that is part of a great system.

This is my third replacement crarafe for this coffee maker. It just doesn’t hold up to every day wear. The glass bottom formed a small hole each time. The only reason I kept replacing it was I was bound to the Cruisinart coffee maker which was not cheap.

I have a metal carafe that I have used but I just like glass.

I have broken a number of glass coffee pots over the years. The glass just does not hold up well when swung against a cast iron sink. So, when we went to Bad, Bath and Beyond to get a replacement, we noticed the metal carafe.

We thought it was a safer coffee pot. It should last when I hit the sink with it. Well, not a good choice. The carafe does not have measurement markings on the outside or more usefully inside the pot.

We could only estimate the amount of water in the carafe to put into the coffee maker. It pours with a larger arc and often missed the reservoir in the coffee maker. So, to bring us back to pleasurable coffee making, we bought a glass coffee pot and keep the carafe for emergencies and carafing duties.

This is the third one of these we have. The first one the snout rotted off of after a few years. So we bought another and it was just as good as the first one. These guy’s really keep stuff hot for a long time.

Then I bought this one and the lid won’t seal on it. So if you happen turn it a little stuff leaks out. So these used to be good, they look the same but like so many other things in life, quality took a dump as of late.

I brew coffee with a Hario V60 right into this carafe, and it stays hot for hours and hours. When my husband came downstairs to the kitchen the first time I used it, he laughed and said, “It’s just like the Hampton Inn, except the coffee is better and I don’t have to wear shoes.

” So if that’s a vibe that you’re into, go for it. It’ll keep your coffee piping hot all day.

I read many reviews of this product before purchasing and am very disappointed in its performance. The coffee does stay warm for a couple of hours. However, if you boil water and let it sit inside before pouring the coffee in, it stays warm maybe 4 hours.

However, it is not hot enough, in my opinion. By the time you add cream, its lukewarm. If you need something to stay warm two hours, its good. I was looking for at least 4-5.

These coffee servers are awful for commercial use. If you use this in a busy healthcare setting where they are used heavy they wont even last a month. I purchased 36 and every single one is broken. Either the covers broke or better yet when placed in the dishwasher they buckled.

The top half of the pitcher separated from the bottom, while still functional they look horrible with a the plastic part showing. I would stick with the brand name and not buy this junk again.

The carafe has an amazing, sleek design and a snug lid that will aid in keeping my coffee hot. I researched several brands and read the reviews before purchasing this particular carafe. The price is great and shipping was quick.

Perfect for our high volume restaurant. Our servers can be so much more efficient and cater to many more tables by allowing large parties access to as much coffee refills as they need without having to wait for a server or bussboy.

I have searched for a few of these and was always sceptical as I wasnt sure if the item *actually* kept the liquid hot for many hours. I actually purchased this for my mum. It looks exactly as the pictures.

Very easy to open/ release the water with the press of a button. I tested it out before giving it to my mum incase I needed to return. I put boiling water and tested it. It stayed Boiling hot for many hours (12+ hours!) To my surprise i tested the water after 2 days and water was still WARM.

Amazing product. Plus after using it daily for 3 months it still has not built in limescale! Price is a bargain.

Very good quality carafe. It is lightweight and keeps water hot for a very long time. The liquid pours out well and there is no condensation of steam which would sort of ‘leak’ when pouring hot liquid into a mug.

I already have a cream carafe in my caravan. At home I have been using a black carafe, but as I have just bought some white containers for tea, sugar, milk and a white kettle I needed a white/cream teapot.

Yes, I use the carafe as a teapot. It keeps the tea wonderfully warm for several hours (if it isn’t drunk) and I would recommend others follow my example.

This carafe keeps coffee amazingly hot for a long period of time. I made a pot in the evening and had a mug or two and the next morning the next cup was almost as hot as freshly brewed! The only minor drawback is when you near the end you have to tip the carafe almost completely upside down to get the last drops.

Other than that it is awesome! Cleans up easy too so far. Had it for over a month.

Large enough for more than 12C coffee. If youre gonna use the beverage in the next couple hours, its ok. At a buffet for example. I wish it kept coffee warm for longer time tho. Nice design. Feels sturdy.

Wonderful product. Purchased to keep water warm for open water swimmers as they emerge from their swims. Works like a charm and has proven durable and well designed for this particular purpose. I bet it would also keep coffee or tea hot!.

good airpot. if you only put a small portion of coffee 4-6 cups it doesn’t work as well at keeping the coffee hot, but if you fill the airpot full (12-18 cups) it keeps it hot for at least the 6 hours I tried.

I don’t think it’s a defect of this airpot that it doesn’t keep the smaller batches of coffee hot, I just think these are designed to be used with a full pot. I’d buy again.

I am in charge of catering at my job. Sometimes we order coffee in a box for early morning meetings. The coffee quickly gets cold and bitter. This carafe keeps the coffee hot and fresh for hours. It has paid for itself.

I was so excited to find a stainless steel thermal carafe, but was disappointed to discover that the interior of the cap and the handle are made with nylon plastic. Much less durable materials than expected/visually indicated.

I wish the specs had included more details about how much nylon was used and where. However, it is an attractive piece and pours smoothly.

I would recommend this carafe for about 12 cups of coffee. We use it to store the hot coffee. It keeps it hot for a couple of hours. Pouring is easy. Nice looking.

I received this coffee maker as a Christmas gift, and I hope they didn’t pay the advertised price for it. As my motto for most things are function over fashion, this coffee maker fails miserably in function.

In the fashion sense it is very attractive. 1) the ability to pour/load the water reservoir is nearly impossible using the SS carafe, 2) the clock display does not stay on no matter what the instructions say, but it doesn’t lose the time once it is entered 3) the other reviews mention.

and the corresponding customer service replies, indicate that the warming/hot plate will not function w/o the clock display being on 4) you cannot get all the water/coffee out of the carafe w/o making a mess and if you leave the top on when pouring it comes out of the top also, making a mess.

5) it isn’t a very hot cup of coffee to begin with, I assume that pre-heating the carafe might help in this area but using more water and energy to pre-heat doesn’t make very much sense to me 6) as a suggestion, before mass production, try the design out for functionality before producing a pile of garbage/scrap metal for recycle.

7) as a GE stockholder, with wishes that GE would get back into small appliances THAT WORKED WELL and were made and designed in USA; I am terribly disappointed if this is what the company is putting out for the consumer.

8) for comparison I still have a 1955 GE refrigerator in the garage that STILL works!!!!.

I brew a pot of coffee every day, so over the past few months I have made at least 100 pots of coffee using this brewer. First the good: • Most importantly: It makes a fine pot of hot coffee in a relatively short time.

• The insulated carafe keeps it hot for about an hour or two, after that I need to microwave it to warm it up… not bad. • The pour spout on the carafe does not drip… nice design. • Preparation to brew and clean-up is basic and familiar to anyone who has used a drip coffee maker before.

• I have not had any overflow/backup/spill issues. • Although big, it looks nice and matches my other GE appliances. Now the bad/quirky things: • The clock does not display unless it is actively brewing coffee, or the auto-brew function is on.

• There is no beep, tone or other signal to indicate that the brew cycle is complete. • Filling with water is tricky… it is hard to tip the carafe enough to fill the reservoir without spilling water into the uncooked coffee grounds.

I usually open the top and pour water into the reservoir from the back, pouring onto the open top and down into the reservoir, which sounds like a disaster but works. • Finally, you need to take off the carafe top to pour the final few ounces of coffee into your cup.

I usually get a several years of use out of any coffee maker, so I will review again after 1,000 pots.

This makes great coffee. Looks like it’s made by Tesla. Takes about 5 minutes to brew a full carafe of coffee. Keeps the coffee warm for about 2 hours. However, In my opinion, It has it’s flaws. It’s difficult to pour water into the reservoir.

It’s nearly impossible to use the carafe to fill the reservoir. I had to purchase a pitcher to fill it. Once the coffee has been brewed and you’re about to pour your first cup, the coffee comes out of the carafe like a really slow urine stream.

It probably has something to do with the cap of the carafe to keep the coffee warm. When the carafe is half full, it comes out a little quicker but not much. When tilting the carafe more than 90 degrees to increase the flow, coffee comes out of the top hole of the cap causing coffee to drip outside of the cup.

The coffee maker is near the kitchen sink so I pour coffee into my cup over the sink to prevent spills. Lastly, it is impossible to pour the last cup of coffee out of the carafe even attempting to pour the coffee holding the carafe upside down.

I end up taking the cap off of the carafe in order to pour the last cup. Also, putting the carafe back into the coffee maker is not smooth. It takes a little force to push it into place. Would I buy it again? Probably not.

My new carafe arrived on time and in perfect condition. It is exactly what I was expecting! The customer service was friendly and they answered my questions promptly and thoroughly. I would order again from eReplacements anytime.

Needed a nice carafe for a hosted brunch. Had my old hand me down carafe that looked sad among my new coffee cups and plates. Imagined my company on their drive home sayomg that everything looked great except for the flea market carafe.

The taste of the plastic stopper gets into the coffee making your best coffee taste terrible and artificial. Whatever that plastic is does not feel safe to drink from so I have stopped using it. The coffee also does not stay very hot.

I don’t even feel good selling it to anyone, or giving it away to a friend.
