20 Best Thermals For Women (2022 Updated)

For years I have worn long underwear as my pyjamas about 5 months out of the year, and also when I was an avid snowboarder for 9 years. These fit horribly–the worst I have ever had, and the material has ZERO stretch.

The waist is way too big, and the backside is way too small, as well as the calves of these, which are tight. When I bend over or squat down in them, they don’t stretch and not only give me a plumbers crack (crack hanging out), but they pull my underwear down too.

I actually have small hips and a small butt relative to the rest of my body (my hips are essentially a size 8, while my waist and bust are a size 12 or 14). So the fact that these don’t fit at all in the way they do (too tight in the butt/hips and too loose in the waist) is rather amazing.

Also, the elastic band is crap, and it’s sewn into a loop of the fabric so it twists. My husband’s pair has a separate elastic band sewn on the top, which would fit better. Big fail Champion, and I am highly disappointed, as I have loved all my high impact, large breasted Champion bras.

I will never buy these again. Luckily I got them on sale or I would be very upset at the cost. THEY NEED STRETCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I have been buying Duofold pants and tops for at least 15 years. The original “Originals” came in two weights — heavyweight (which was only available for men) and midweight (which was only available for women).

The heavyweight had 65% wool in the outer layer and the midweight had 25% wool in the outer layer. When I moved to Montana, I had to get the heavyweight version, even though it was made for men. Then, around 5 years ago, there was a change in the elastic being used for the waistband in the pants and it didn’t hold up through a normal wash cycle anymore.

(I used warm water for the wash and medium heat for the dryer). I still have one pair of pants that’s at least 12 years old and the elastic is still fine, so this was the first step toward lower quality by substituting inferior materials as a cost-cutting measure.

NOW the product being called “Originals” only has 25% wool in the outer layer. I had to buy some new pants and got the men’s version again. These are so thin that I have to wear two pair at the same time to get any kind of warmth from them.

They are not much heavier than my cotton leggings, and aren’t even as heavy as the old midweight ones I used to get. I realize that many products are shaving costs(and quality) in order to keep prices down, but this has gone too far.

These are NOT the Duofold “Originals” anymore and if I had an alternative to them (none of the other options have a good fit, according to online reviews), I would not buy them anymore. PLEASE — bring back the old “heavyweight” version and use a good elastic for the waistband!!!! Even if you have to charge more for them, at least they would be worth buying! These that I just got are NOT!.

I bought four different styles of Champion base layer pants and their coordinating tops to determine which worked best for me. 3 fit very well while this one didn’t. The waistband of these pants didn’t make it fully over my bum.

No other pair had that issue. Every time I squatted I felt like a construction worker. And they weren’t very easy to move in, not like the Varitherm flex weight pants which almost feel like you have no pants on at all allowing all kinds of movement.

The coordinating top of this style is long in torso length and sleeve length. That I loved. It was only because of the top that I didn’t reveal even more of my bum to the world. And they are definitely warm.

but I question if they’re very breathable. I’m a person who runs warm and these were making me overheat just trying them on. The other three pairs didn’t do that. The wool Originals felt warm but breathable, the Varitherm flex weight are super light, and the pink basic Varitherm pants fell somewhere in between.

As for these brushed back base layer pants, I’d never be able to do high intensity activities in them as I’d overheat. In my opinion, these are best suited for those who run cold, those who don’t have round muscular bums, or perhaps for anyone (whose bum fits in them) who needs some warmth during more sedentary activities.

I am 5′ 7″ tall. 132 pounds. Ordered the small and it fit good. Not too tight, not too loose. It is comfortable and handles sweat pretty well. Are items from other companies better?. Some of their stuff is, but not everything.

Some of their tops are too tight in under the armpits. And their stuff is about twice as high also. Do I like the thumbholes?. For running I do, but for running only. I am not handling anything while running.

As far as thickness, I think in the tops you can get too thick. I had rather layer than have a scuba shirt on. They just aren’t comfortable, and this top strikes a good balance. Not too thick not too thin.

They were out of the gray color so I had to get the green. I usually wear something over it so, not all that big of a deal. Except the part on top of my hand showing. What would I change. If your wearing this.

it is probably at least cool outside, if not cold. I like a mock neck. Helps keep you warmer, and they look cool too. Even with something over them and the mock neck showing is nice. Champion needs to manufacture some of those.

I have some from different brands and they are my favorites. For the price, this top is worth putting in your arsenal though.

Received as a Christmas gift. Could tell it is very good quality and warm; however, the most awkward fit. For like a crop, and tight in tbt torso; arms were super baggy. For reference, I am 5’ 5”; 100lbs; wear XS.

I have been using the duofold original thermal wear for 50 years. I ;live in Florida but I use the cotton/polyester blend when the temperature dips to 50 degrees. I use the thermals with a wool outer layer when I take a snow vacation ( or when the temperature dips below 40 degrees).

It is the most comfortable and longest lasting product( I have never had to retire a set because of wear) that keeps your body at just the right temperature. For Christmas I gifted my very large family with severl sets and they were all very thankful.

I ordered a large because the size chart on their website said that would best fit me according to my measurements. So I ordered a large. I just got the package today and they sent a medium. They fit me perfectly though.

Don’t use their size chart because it’s obviously wrong. I’m glad that I don’t have to send them back but that’s not the point. It’s not the size I ordered. It turned out well for me but it might not for other people.

This base layer product is very soft inside and out. The items hold up well in the wash, but I’ll be honest and admit that I hang mine to dry so the softness on the inside will last as long as possible.

The fit is true to size (I’m 5’8 and wear a size 2 and therefore an XS in ThermaJane) but I do wish that the tops and bottoms came in Tall sizes. Because they are so stretchy, however, they still work for me.

The Thermajane Girl’s Ultra Soft Thermal Underwear Long Johns Set with Fleece Lining is a wonderful product. My family and I live in the Midwest and it tends to get rather chilly in the winter. With bearing this in mind, it is important that my children have warm clothing.

The long john set that I received is baby pink and fits my 6-year-old like a glove. My daughter is tall and wears between an 8 and 10 in girls. The long johns are lined nicely and have a wonderful fuzzy fleece feeling.

The long johns are made from 92% ultra-soft polyester and 8% spandex. I believe this is why the set feels so cozy. My daughter loves these long johns and has worn them both as pajamas and under her clothing while we have walked to school.

Love the style. Indifferent about the textured thermal material. The neckline hem is wide and clearly visible on lighter colors, so be mindful if that is a negative for you. The short hemline though – many reviewers mentioned it, but I loved the gorgeous nude color enough to overlook it when I bought this months ago.

Now realizing that I’ve often avoided wearing this because I end up with exposed sides and loose material that ends up looking unkempt as result. Not sure what the Free People designer was intending there.

Might get another white Allsaints Rita one-shoulder tee and dying it my perfect nude instead – love the sumptuous material and cleaner, more elegant cut of that similar design far more.

Loooooove this top! Usually free people runs a little large and I get an extra small but for this top I stuck with a small since it’s a little shorter and it’s perfect! I’m 5’4 around 119lbs. Love this top! Nice and light but also a good solid material that isn’t see thru.

Love the thumb holes and I actually love the slightly thermal material. Good to dress up or down. I like that it’s a little shorter because it makes it easy to front tuck the top and not have it be bulky.

Sleeve length is perfect and just enough amount of slouch so that it’s not tight to the body but it’s still slightly fitted so it isn’t falling off. Great top!!.

This is a beautiful color! The knit holds its shape well. The design is sophisticated with the one off the shoulder. The length of the sleeves are perfectly symmetrical for the style. I love wearing this top with over the knee boots and light denim skinnies topped with a white cardigan or leather jacket.

It’s simply beautiful on.

At 27 years old, living in cold-*** Michigan all my life – I decided it was time to retire my old basics from Forever 21 and the like for more quality standard pieces. After searching, I stumbled upon this site without realizing the brand is also sold at Costco too (Love Costco here in the Midwest!).

I couldn’t believe the price, so after reading reviews I thought there’s at least nothing to lose… When the shirts came – I was WOWed! I started off with the ‘cool’ t-shirts and these lightweight long sleeves.

I LOVE the brushed feel of them, the perfect amount of warmth. I also got the pullover Sherpa hoodie – I haven’t worn them together yet but I can imagine these two together would keep you very warm, especially with one of the 32 degrees packable jackets/vests! However, I would highly recommend air drying/hanging your sherpa items.

Mine was dried and while it’s still soft, I could have made the original softness last longer. I bought 3 long sleeves the first round – now I’m back from 4 more between the scoopneck and the crewneck before they are gone for the season!! I’m imagining traveling with all 32 degree items I can get my hands on!.

After wearing a 32 Degrees top purchased from Costco a few years ago and loving how super thin (almost see-thru) but super warm it is, I was anxious to get two more for an upcoming winter trip. I usually wear medium to large, but in this top I needed an XL, so I needed to exchange.

The top is beautiful and comfy, but nothing like the one from Costco. The fabric is much thicker, although they can easily be worn under another top or sweater. However, even though slightly heavier, they aren’t as warm as my original super thin top.

That’s a little disappointing. But with that said, I would recommend buying it. The colors are pretty and it feels very nice quality. You can’t beat it for the price!! I will say that customer service is the BEST and a new top was shipped the day after I sent mine back for exchange.

I wear shirts like this for modesty to extend my wardrobe. So the fabric needs to be not too thick/ not too thin, not hot and needs to have the right stretch and neckline. Also it needs to retain its shape and not pill up after washing.

I guess I’m very specific but I’ve been so disappointed in the past with some expensive shirts and then so satisfied with some cheap ones. One kind I use to buy we’re awesome but are now discontinued and replaced with fleece lining.

So these shirts from 32 degrees are the closest match I’ve been able to find and I’m very satisfied so far. I need a couple more washings to see how they hold up. Also the sale price was great but I am more than willing to pay full price for a great shirt so I do intend to buy again.

I bought the thermal pants a few weeks ago. The thermal base layer bottoms keep my legs warm as temperatures decline to 45 Fahrenheit. The fabric is soft on the skin. – If your measurements are in between those listed in the size chart, pick the next larger size.

These leggings (with the matching top, my favorite under-layer in the winter) are so soft and stretchy. I’d like to have them in several different colors! So silky and smooth you hardly know you have them on! They wash well on delicate, and they don’t shrink or twist.

Very much worth the price.

Fruit of the Loom Beyond Soft Thermals. Well made. Very comfortable. Not too heavy and not too light. A very pretty pink.

Great fit as long as I buy in XL – normally wear a medium in most tops. I love these tops as outer wear in the winter – perfect weight! I had previously purchased several through Costco and they used to offer a great plum/wine color which was then discontinued.

So I was very excited to see the “eggplant” color offered as in the online photo it looked like the plum/wine color that I loved. I was very disappointed when the two shirts arrived to see that it is definitely more of an eggplant than wine and unless you are in full sunlight looks more brown than plum.

Certainly not as flattering a color. I don’t wear these as a base layer – they are my only layer so color is important. I have attached three photos of new shirt (on left) and old shirt (on right) in different light to show the difference.

The final photo is what is shown online. Would also love if they offered some of the colors they have for crew neck in the scoop neck fit. Love the Atlantic Deep and the Majolica Blue.

I received this Thermajane Women’s Ultra Soft Scoop Neck Thermal Shirt and immediately wanted to try it on. It fit great! I love how comfortable it is, and how warm it keeps me, and how stylish it is.

I love to go skiing or hiking even when it’s cold outside and this has been perfect for when I go. It is super soft and very comfortable! I also like the long neckline so you can wear it under your clothes and it won’t show.

It is also very stylish and I love how it looks. I think you can wear it as is if it is warmer outside or just with a jacket on top no problem. It feels snug and it is pretty light, it is perfect for physical exercise in the winter or even spring.

With how comfortable and soft it is I am excited to wear it again and again whether I am going skiing with my husband or just taking my dog on a walk around the neighborhood. Seems like it is a good quality product and will last a while.

I really like this shirt! It’s super soft material and flexible. It’s a nice fit but no skin tight which I love. It also doesn’t have a tag which is great. It’s a nice soft pink color so it pairs really nice with my black vest.

It’s something I can wear underneath a vest or a jean jacket or even just by itself. It has a scoop neck which gives it more of a dressier feel, if you want to wear it paired with something. It’s also nice to have the v neck cause this is a thermal shirt so having the v neck makes it so you can’t see it under anything.

It’s a nice material that’s not itchy and uncomfortable like most thermal shirts. Overall I really like this shirt. Will definitely be buying more.

I was looking for thermal underwear that were sustainable and high quality, but would also not break the bank! After only hearing great things about this brand, I decided to purchase this set and I’m in love with it! I purchased a small though I wished they had extra-small; still fits great though however the pants are a bit too long for me.

Despite the size, I’m very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend this brand. This set is lightweight but makes a huge difference when it’s colder outside which is great since I don’t like wearing too many layers.

I was impressed with the quality of this set at first. It definitely did the job for keeping me extra warm while taking up minimal space beneath my clothes. After only about six wears with gently handwashing these as instructed, though, the tights began to pill.

A lot. If you’re going to buy these, consider buying more than one set to decrease the use on a single set of the thermal wear.

Just what I was looking for! Love the v neckline on to top. And the close-fitting thin fabric fits well under clothing. My only issue is that the waist band of the pants cuts into me a little bit. I don’t have a small waist, so this is a common problem for me, and it’s only slight so it won’t stop me from wearing but I do wish I had a bit more room.

Too tight in the chest and body. Even in size 2XL tall. Seams are so thick you might need to wear this shirt inside out (not a real problem). Sleeve and body length in size 2XL tall is excellent (I am 6’2″).

Fabric is excellent too. Bought 6, returned 5. Found size 3XL tall elsewhere, fits much looser.

Good qualty, but runs small. I started out with my size LT, too tight. Then got XLT, still too tight, felt the same actually. Then just got a XXLT. Tried it on just now, still too tight across chest.

Never had this problem with other brands the size chart on the package is accurate, but it seems like the assemblers just filled the bags with the same size underwear. Three trips to local store and still no size differences!.

Where did awesome old-school pure cotton quilted warm breathable thermal underwear go? Without full disclosure on the fabric content of this product, described only as “cotton-rich,” this 65-percent cotton and 35-percent polyester blend just doesn’t work.

It is very lightweight and very thin. My pure cotton thermal shirt from 30-plus years ago, after tons of wear and countless washings, is still thicker and better than this shirt could ever hope to be.

Super soft lining feels great and the crew also is soft. The crew is 87% polyester and 13% wool, not itchy at all. I washed it then dried it in the dryer with minimal shrinkage. The care instructions are on a little tag also in black and it was very hard to find.

Wash this crew in cold water dry on low do not use any fabric softener or dryer sheets. After following the instructions the crew came out nice and soft no issues. I have worn this crew a few times in the mornings while during my walk with a light jacket on top.

It’s not too tight where you feel stuffed into it, give you room to move it’s not bulky. I was actually comfortable not too hot not too cold I feel toasty warm and I wasn’t all sweaty. I find the fit to be comfortable it could be just a little bit longer but all in all I enjoyed the feeling of soft warmth.

It’s a super dark gray and I mean dark and it has a little specs of a light gray I like the look.

I got the Ozark trail wool blend thermal crew. I was a little unsure about the wool blend because it had been many years since I had tried clothing containing wool. I decided wool was itchy at an early age so I hadn’t really tried a blend.

This is different. The fact that it’s a blend totally changed the feel to me. This fabric is so wonderfully soft. Not itchy at all. I love the seams/stitching down the sleeves and from the shoulder to the neck.

It just gives it a little extra that makes it look cool. It looks really well made, like it should last a long time. I found it to be very comfortable. It will move with you and just feels so good against your skin.

This shirt is made of 87% polyester and 13% wool. It is machine washable and tumble dry. Plus it comes out looking great. All in all this shirt has a lot going for it. I would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.

I had an issue when trying to send a photo. I hate that but trust me this is a good product.

I ordered 2 of these base layers and I am very pleased with them, especially at the price. The material is soft, comfortable and warm. Another good thing is the length of the garment, I am 6′ 2″ tall and sometimes tops are a bit short, not the case in this instance, the length is good and remains tucked into my trousers.

I was expecting to be disappointed but this is very good value and very comfortable to wear. When you put on clothes on a cold morning they’re normally – well, cold. This is warm as soon as you put it on.

Good fit and all round very good. I’m using it for everyday wear, mainly indoor, so I don’t have to wear so many layers. Works well – not sure it would work so well in freezing outdoor temperatures.

Great product, keeps you super warm, but can be worn as skinny top on its own! It doesnt shrink and after 20 washes still looks great. I have 3 of them and are worth investing in!

I ordered these as gifts but found something else for a friend, so I kept them for myself. I’m glad I did. I love these wonderful socks. They are soft, warm and cute. They wash and dry easily. They were worth every penny.

Next year I’ll have to order a set to give as a gift and I can do that knowing how much I love my set. They have silicone dots on the bottom to prevent slipping – something missing in other slipper-style socks I have had over the years.

I suggest ordering a pair for every female in your family. They could become a yearly gift because I suspect that eventually they wear out and need to be replaced. I have one pair set aside in my overnight bag because they pack easier than regular slippers.

I ordered the M purple and it’s so cute. It’s colorful without being too bold or ugly. The fit is great – 5’2, 150, pear shaped. The length is perfect, @ 5’2 some tops can be so long and it’s nice to have a variety.

It falls away from the body without being oversized. I don’t usually care for mocks (prefer turtlenecks), but like this because it has nice neck coverage but isn’t strangling or slouchy. CD has such great fabrics and fleecewear is one of my favs – soooo soft! It can be paired with so many bottoms.

I’ve worn it once with CD black plush leggings and topped with a Logo Nightshade jacket A385380. I was pretty cute ;).

I bought 3 of these in red, gray and blue. I am normally a petite medium in Cuddl duds pajamas. However, these did not come in petite. I checked the actual garment measurements and bought the medium.

I got them today and they are running about 1 size larger than usual. I easily could have worn a small and still had lots of room. Anyway, light weight fabric, i love modal, and the inverted pleat in the back, love it.

It is a cute, comfortable top that i plan to layer under my fleece wear and other warmer tops. Makes a great first layer piece and BTW, I plan on sleeping in them. Thanks Cuddl duds for another great product.

You never disappoint.

Love this soft turtleneck top from Cuddle Duds, but it is really misnamed. I ordered the Purple print and it fits thru the hips like a regular top. That’s fine with me and I love everything about this top.

Long enough without being a tunic, long sleeves that I push up a bit, and the turtleneck is stretchy enough to go over my head without being a big, loose cowl neck, nor is it too tight to feel like it is choking me.

Great vibrant colors without being NEON. It is so lightweight it feels like wearing feathers. Thanks for this soft, comfy fall/winter top.

I retired last winter, so no need for shoes when home. I have wood floors and LOVE these socks with the grippies on bottom. I don’t have to worry about falling. These are the best slipper socks ever ! They keep your feet warm but not to hot.

Yes, eventually they do wear out on the heals but that’s after months of wear. I have about 6 pair in rotation so they last much longer. They are knit so not sure why people are complaining about wearing out on heals.

What do you expect from knit? At this price they’re about $4 a pair. So I think well worth the money. Just ordered a new supply to tuck away when needed. Thanks for a great product !.

I recently received a two pack of Fit for Me by Fruit of the Loom Women’s Plus Thermal Waffle Lounge Bottoms. This is a perfect shade of grey and so very comfortable. The material is soft and the fit is good.

We have two three year old Beagles who love to walk and it does not matter what the weather is like, whether 99 degree heat with high humidity or thirty degrees and blustery winds. These thermal bottoms came in handy with the recent wave of cold weather we have had.

I wear them under my sweatpants and it is just enough layering to keep the cold wind off of my legs while walking. Inside with a long sleeve top these bottoms are just as comfortable and make great sleep pants too.

I have washed them one time and they came out of the dryer with no pilling. The material is thin enough to wear under dress pants as well. I love to purchase Fruit of the Loom Bottom specially in the winter times to sleep in and wear under my clothes to help keep me warm.

But all these years that I have bought the Fruit of the Loom wear the fit is always off. I’m talk and wear a size medium but every time I purchased the Thermal wear it always floods at my ankles. Also, fits tight at my ankles.

But not these Fruit of the Loom Women’s and Women’s Plus Thermal Waffle Lounge Bottom, it fits perfect and I love the white color its not off white its pure white. I will be checking Walmart stores for another white pair and black pair as well.

Fruit of the loom women’s and women’s plus thermal waffle lounge bottom two pack is very warm and soft. It’s perfect for cold days or just when your at home lounging watching tv or reading a book. I try to dress warmer this winter so I can save on my heating bill a little.

I wear them when I go outside and I feel way more cozy. I didn’t wear them the other day and I definitely noticed the difference right when I opened the door. I was thinking it’s really cold out which it was but then I was like wait I didn’t wear my thermal waffle pants under my jeans that’s why I was cold.

I need to buy some more so I always have clean ones ready. That’s why I didn’t have them on cause they were in the washing machine. Overall a good buy. only thing I would change would be a better elastic waist band.

Mine it’s not snug enough I feel. however my belt holds and makes them feel more comfortable. When I wear them at home just lounging I feel like I need to pull them up to much. Not to the point of annoying me but I think I could be improved.

I put a little safety pin in the waist to scrunch up waist and it fits perfect now.

I brought these for my wife expecting really good thermals that are snug fitting & these are not thermals! They are just Lycra, definitely not going to keep you warm & they are way way overpriced for what you get.

They look like they would wear out very easily. You are better of going to buy normal leggings and a long sleeve top, to wear underneath your clothing and you could buy at least double the amount, for the price these cost.

Ordered small thermal long sleeve and leggings and they turned out great! Materiel is so soft , lightweight but also does the job at keeping you warm! Would reccomend.
