20 Best Thermometer For Newborn (2022 Updated)

The battery in this thermometer dies after just a few uses. We bought a new thermometer when our second child was born (new booty new thermometer) and I really loved it at first. It reads super quick, seems comfortably in her booty, and has a very short flexible tip so it’s virtually fool proof.

Well my daughter has had a cold the last few days so we had been taking her temp and to tonight when we took it the screen was glitching and was reading 95. 9, 96. 1, 97. 5, 96. 8. All of these temps are low.

She is 6 months old so she is better a regulating her body temp by now and she was dressed appropriately so I thought maybe she isn’t breathing well and getting enough O2. I called the pediatrician, drove at 1:00 am to buy a new rectal thermometer to verify before bringing her to the ER and her temp was just fine.

The battery was dying. Before tonight we prob used the thermometer 3 times since owning it. This is unacceptable. Also the battery it requires is not one you typically have around. Very disappointed.

I recommend this thermometer! I’m a pharmacist and usually pretty comfortable with this kind of stuff. But the one thing I was worried about, was going in “too deep” or not deep enough for a rectal temperature.

Love this easy to use, touchless thermometer. Batteries went in easily. Was prompted to set time initially. Had to readjust. Instructions were easy to understand. I like the color background provided after getting a temperature, green for good, yellow for suspect, and red for high temperature.

I impulse purchased this a week or two ago on prime day and am so glad I did! My infant got his first real fever that I was trying to track with all my other crappy, inaccurate thermometers (I have 3…) underarm wasn’t working.

The infrared head ones gave varying readings. Didn’t attempt the rectal because baby will alligator roll right out of that and I didn’t want to perforate his bowel. Then I remembered I bought this and got it out.

I was scared to sleep and wasn’t sure how to dress baby (first time mom here obviously, currently single parenting it). I was also worried the tape would irritate baby or that he’d pull it off. The monitor didn’t bother him at all and the adhesive is sticky, but not the awful kind like ripping off certain bandaids.

The system beeped when his temp climbed another degree and I was able to adjust his clothing and does Tylenol throughout the night, as needed. I initially wanted to go to the ER, but with this thermometer we survived our first real illness and he’s feeling much better today.

I agree with one review. This thermometer was tricky and laborious to use. I installed a brand new battery straight away, which was exhausted very quickly. I would like to return this thermometer, am very disappointed.

An excellent, easy to use accurate thermometer was needed, hence this thermometer was purchased after reading such very good reviews from other Asda customers.

I already have a non touch thermometer but was after something more reliable. I have a 4 month old but haven’t found this to be ideal for use with him. You have to hold under their tongue for several minutes (which is impossible with a moving baby!), or under their armpit.

Went for this option and is much easier and managed to keep him still. Will continue to use but would recommend is probably better for use with an older child rather than a baby. Other than that though, it is straight forward with one button to turn on and off, and remembers the last taken temperature which is handy.

It’s small and compact with a plastic cover over the probe which makes storage very easy, it just needs wiping clean beteeen each use.

This was a great thermometer for a few months but the on/off button has recently started to become temperamental. It also seems to have changed from Celsius to Fahrenheit somehow – it must be something I’ve pressed – but I can’t get it back onto Celsius, even having followed the instructions on the Tommee-Tippee website.

Received my thermometer on the date specified. It would not turn on. Contacted customer support and received a response in less than 2 hours. I was told to try removing the battery for 30 seconds. I must go to town to find a small enough Phillip’s head screwdriver for the job.

I was so relieved to finally see a thermometer in stock! My husband just returned back to work on Monday and part of the new requirements are he needs to check his temp every morning before leaving for work.

attended my baby. One of the nurses told me that all those scanning thermometers are really not so accurate. She actually recommended this thermometer. When I received it I really liked that it is very flexible and lightweight.

Takes too long for reading. How long do they expect a fussy sick baby to keep a strange pacifier in for that long?

I tried this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion We tried the Braun No touch + forehead thermometer with age precision. When receiving the item it looks modern and has an appealing packaging with all the information needed on how to handle the themometer and get the full benefit of it.

It includes 2 AAA batteries necessary to function and has an automatic turn off function when the thermometer is not in use (approx. 35 seconds). It is quick and easy to use: first turn on the thermometer with a press of the power button, then choose the appropriate age categorie and at the press of the reading button you know easily if someone is in a normal to high range temperature with the age-adjustable fever colour-coded display : the screen will turn green, yellow or red depending on the range of temperature read.

The Braun No touch + forehead thermometer can be used for multiple purposes, it can measure food and bath temperatures as well. We used it so far mostly for bath water and food temperature checks to make sure everything is safe and ready to use.

By sliding down the button on the left side of the device you can turn off the beeping sound function indicator or change from Farenheit to Celsius readings – you can find this option inside the battery compartement between the two batteries.

We definetly prefer the sound indicator ON but its pratical if you need to take the temperature of a child when they’re sleeping. The thermometer offer a simple process easy to follow with step by step guidance to get a proper reading.

The Braun thermometer is really simple to use. I love the no touch method as sometimes germs come in to play and sometimes we can forget to do a simple step as clean and sanitize. This helps in that.

This thermometer goes for ages 0-3 months to Adults which is awesome that is a save in that end. Then it can also measure food and bath temperatures. Simply power on choose age group and point in center of eyebrows on forehead and press the temp button, make sure to continue to keep your finger on the temp button till it registers the temp.

For Food and water turn on, press water drop button then focus and press temp button, again keep finger on button till it registers temp. I love the fact that it has all these things in 1 product. When our babies are young its important to be able to take there temperatures as they can’t simply tell us.

So this does great and does good as we need to have a good temperature for there bath as there skin are sensitive as babies and even toddler’s maybe even in adults we are still sensitive in things. This does all for getting it just right and knowing what’s going on.

The thermometer is simple to use and has all you need to get started and very good clear instructions. You have a detail book and a quick get started paper inside. I found it very useful and good reminders inside to get the best out of the product and the best results.

My children even know how to use it. My only issue was actually opening the area to insert the batteries. I could not get it open for the longest time it wasn’t easy and then when i finally got it open it wouldn’t close.

It actually is broken in that area I believe because it wont fully close and so that can maybe just be this one default in mine. But overall everything else works great and just find. This is the fastest thermometer I’ve ever used! It only takes a few seconds for the first reading vs. about 20-30 seconds for any other thermometer. I have only used this in my infant daughter’s armpit and it works great.

It doesn’t take much time to get her temperature while she’s squirming. For the second reading to confirm temperature, I’ve been getting a number in only 4-5 seconds. This “fast reading” feature is excellent for a fidgeting baby.

The only downside is that it takes 60 seconds to cool down for a second reading. This isn’t a long amount of time, but it feels a bit long compared to the very short time the thermometer takes to give a reading.

My daughter has not had a fever that resulted in the amber light glowing, but I am glad the thermometer has that feature so I will know when she is getting too hot.

This thermometer is actually TOO FAST and isn’t accurate. When it’s clear my son is feeling warm, I take his temperature. With this thermometer it takes 3-4 reads to actually show his true temperature (fever.

) It’ll register something low, like 97. x then the next read it’ll increase to 98. x then the next read 99. x until finally the last read will show closer to his true temperature. Fortunately I know to trust my own sense of temperature to know when he’s warm, and I take his temp a few times.

Otherwise I’d be sending him to play dates and daycare thinking he wasn’t running a fever at all!.

Bought this on cyber Monday. From Amazon. I am overly excited about this item. The value was great. In the product works extremely well. With a baby I need to get a good reading and fast. This is lightning fast for results.

Great as non contact for taking temperature so ideal for checking families temperature. Great as part of the deal with the coffee machine and came with 60 masks also! Beeper sound on thermometer could be a bit louder though.
