20 Best Thermometer For Nurses (2022 Updated)

Very easy to use. I’ve been wanting one and finally got one. Its next to impossible to get my granddaughter to take her temp under her tongue. You can forget using an anal one. Lol She refuses. It’s so easy to take a temperature with this forehead thermometer.

I can actually get a pretty accurate one at that. Every Mother/ Father, Grandma/Grandpa should absolutely have one. I was amazed by how you can take an object temperature. The only issue I had with it is the ear thermometer isnt as accurate.

You have to make sure its pointing directly at the eardrum, which isnt impossible, but a lil tricky. You have to pull up on the ear and pull back to get the temperature. Which I was able to get once.

Haha! It’s not just this product. Even some high priced ones gave me hell too. Is that a good enough reason to not recommend this product or buy this product again? Absolutely not!.

This is a great product based on what turned into two weeks of intensive use. First, I believe it is accurate. I love the speed, sometimes seeming instant to give results, always super fast. Our old brand had to be held in our sons ear for much longer and was much more disruptive.

I also love the mute button for nighttime readings. The only downside is we do more ear measurements. It is very easy to snap off the forehead cover, but often as I pull it off, the battery cover also comes off.

I am hoping a product manager will see this. That said, still love the product.

This thermometer is easy to use, sleek, and fits well in the hand. It takes readings much more quickly than a traditional thermometer, and it would definitely be easier to use on babies/fussy children.

There were a few downsides: the buttons’ functions were not straightforward and the lid covering the ear insert part was hard to remove. I also did not realize that the head swipe would be less accurate than the ear measurement — this led me to not completely trust the readings I took.

For a first pass look at a child’s temperature, this would work well, but for more accurate readings I would go with another product. I would recommend this product to a friend, but with a statement of caution about using the readings as if they were completely accurate.

It is my first time to write a product review that I have purchased from walmart and this is by far the worst. The thermometer is very inaccurate by giving a different readings. I changed its batteries but it is still the same.

inaccurate and not reliable. used it to my kid and to my dismay the readings are all within 101F above where as my kid doesn’t have fever at all. so I purchased brauns instead. tried them both and true enough the product is really defective.

I tried contacting walmart for returns but they have given me a lot of hassle asking me to do a lot of things just to prove to them the reliability and inaccuracy of their product. I provided a lot of information already and even pictures with a time stamp as proof but to no avail they are still giving me a lot of difficulties.

so save yourself from the stress and hassle. dont buy this product. 24$ is not worth of your stess and headache.

Bought on the advice of The Wirecutter. Long story short, it’s fine. Probably a cut above a cheap one from the drug store. Better than the cheap one already in our medicine cabinet, but only just. For starters the fit and finish leaves something to be desired.

The ear probe cover won’t come off and anytime you grip it tight enough to get the probe cover off, the battery cover won’t stay on. Plus, unless great care is taken, holding it tight enough to get the probe cover off almost always pushes one of the buttons putting an extraneous reading into the memory.

Molding a couple of ridges for one’s fingers to find purchase on to the sides of the probe cover instead of making it smooth would make it much easier to get open. Additionally, it has the usual garbage “hold down the button” feature to switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

Meaning that you’ll constantly be accidentally or unintentionally switching the readings to the other scale. I actually only bought this because the Rexall branded one we already had was too easy to accidentally switch the scale and then too hard to switch back.

I switched the scale on this one trying to wrench the probe cover off. This is the kind of equipment that has to work consistently every time, even if it’s been months since you used it. Overloading the buttons is a bad design choice and too many of the home units make that mistake.

Overall it’s fine, but it’s not twice as good as a cheap one from the drug store that’s half the price.

For the price and actually accuracy of this I am so unsure on how I really feel about it. The aesthetic look to this and the digital/lightweight definitely have bumped the rating up but the effectiveness of giving real temps just doesn’t seem truthful? Who knows.

It easily changes if done several times in a row to make sure that the temp is what is being displayed but usually will give a different one each tome; not even by a little bit but sometimes by a whole degree? Somethings not adding up right.

anyways I needed this for work and get a ballpark of what someone’s temp could be and I think if they were actually running a fever it would indicate so but I would not have a 100% accurate reading of what it is.

I just got this in the mail and am super happy with my purchase!! It not only takes the temp temporally but also on the ear. Plus you can switch the mode and measure the heat of off things too! I ran around checking EVERYTHING!! It’s fast too.

Plus came with a carry bag and a set of batterie’s.

Definitely measures the temperature! Has both body and surface settings, which you can switch between by reading and following the instructions. I use the body thermometer function for the standard forehead measurements, and the surface thermometer function to check the soil surface temperature for my seedlings.

🙂 Unfortunately the controls on the thermometer themselves are unintuitive — why does switching between body and surface measurements involve pressing the minus button, while checking the log involves pressing the plus button? Definitely keep the instructions with you for easy reference.

I just put in the batteries. I’m feeling pretty sick but any time I press for a reading I get the same reading. I even tried using it on my boyfriend. But both of us are either 92 degrees or 96 degrees.

It stays the same though no matter what we do. Maybe I just got a defective sensor but if it did work, it would be worth it since the readings are almost instantaneous. Who knows?.

I have a low normal temperature (by 1†, give or take a 1/10 of a degree), so at first I wasn’t sure if it was just me. But we checked everyone’s temperatures after reading and rereading the instructions, and even watching two YouTube videos to be sure we were using it right, but it still just reads people at 96′-97′ at best.

The light on this large screen is so strong that it’s is blinding and it makes it impossible to use unless it’s day or you have a light on. You also can’t see how you position in the ear (apparently you need to be in a certain angle towards the temple) so it’s hard to get an accurate measurement and it varies even when measured seconds apart.

I wish I could return it as it’s really bad! Had the old model with the screen on the bottom and it was amazing. Lasted years and it’s was quick and efficient especially when used on sleeping children.

Bring back the old model please!.

I love this thermometer. You can keep an eye on temperature and temperature change as it keeps a record of the last several readings. It has age precision which is really useful for young children. ive found the ambulance crew locally tend to use the same thermometers which really reassures me.

It is hygienic for all the family as you can change the little ear caps before use. I find them much more accurate than forehead and in mouth thermometers. They are very easy to use. I would recommend to anyone especially thoose with young children.

This was given to me from someone who got two at their baby shower! We have had this thermometer for about 4. 5 years. It has survived through so much of my sons abuse 😂😭 He has taken it apart and lost all of the pieces a ton of times and it has still always worked.

I don’t recommend letting your littles bully you into playing with the expensive thermometer Buuuut these can handle a lot! Worth buying. I’m not sure I will re buy this one but for the price, these are great and work so well.

So. This device is tricky. There’s a lot going on— and I’m sure it’s far more capable of doing more than what I purchased it for. To be honest, I have not read all the instructions, nor have I explored more than just taking a temperature.

But, I enjoy the voice back/playback, advising of the temp. I also like that it is versatile— between the head/ear. The immediate reading, is QUICK. I do not like how long it takes to reset and the amount of beeps it does to indicate a reset— changing formats/methods.

It’s very annoying and unnerving for a child to endear. But it does it’s job—takes a temp. and that’s all we need!.

This product is junk. It worked fine for a few months then started giving inaccurate readings. Took reading and got 97. 7, 97. 5, 96. 8 and so on, did the same in both ears and forehead. Took a reading with old style manual thermometer reading was 99.

7 degrees. Had gone to the doctor on Monday, said I was running a fever. I had checked with this just before I went, it showed 97. 5 degrees. You get what you pay for, this is Made in China.

We purchased several of these thermometers to use in a classroom setting. The students were able to use the thermometers with very little instruction. The infrared sensor works very well, much better than other sensors that actually have to make contact with the skin.

Also very nice that it can be used in the ear and on the forehead (having multiple students sticking the thermometers into their ears becomes a safety and sanitation issue). The thermometers arrived quickly and I have had no issues so far (they have been used by roughly 200 different students so far with no problems).

Works as expected. Temperature readings seem accurate, and it only takes 60 seconds to get a temperature reading. This thermometer takes one small button cell battery, and the battery seems to last a really long time.

This thermometer is really easy to clean/sanitize. I douse the thermometer in 91% rubbing alcohol and let it sit for a minute or two, then rinse it off. Very affordable thermometer, and I feel like these type of thermometers are much more accurate than the no-touch thermometers on the market.

This is my second Veridian thermometer. I gave it only 4 stars because they changed the case. The new version of the case is very cheap and ill fitting.

I have two children and needed a good thermometer. I have bought several others that are supposed to be nice but they were terrible. I work in the medical field and we use these in the hospital. I bought this as refurbished and it looks brand new.

I really am happy to finally have an accurate, quick, easy thermometer.

How the Exergen temporal scanner purchased from the pharmacy can’t work as well as these “Pro-level” units is beyond me. The difference is night & day. from Day1, the pharmacy purchased unit struggled to give two readings that were close to each other.

The refurbished “Pro” unit gives a reliable and repeatable reading which allows me to trust the data. It’s an uneasy feeling when your child is suffering with a fever but you don’t know for sure if the temperature is 102F or 104F.

With this unit, I feel that I can trust the readouts that I am getting.

I absolutely love how easy to use this thermometer is. Even my little brother can take his own temperature. Adorable, cute design and does it job very fast and precisely. My old one fell at the ground and broke and this one fell so many times (kids at home) and nothing happened! I’m grateful, money spent wisely on this.

dangerously low readings. I double checked with another thermometer, because my “Mommy Instincts” told me this reading isn’t right. I checked the Equate Temple thermometer 3 times to give it a chance, it read 98.

1F to 99. 1F while Safety Frist thermometer, also checked 3 times to make sure readings were as accurate as possible, I got 103. 1F and 103. 2F. consider how hot to touch little man feels, I’m going to say Equate Temple is dangerously inaccurate! Second time buying this thermometer, frist time I got a defective device that wouldnt even turn on.

This time I get to see just how bad this product really is. I had high hopes beint that I have 5 kids that all hate having their temperatures taken for some reason, was hoping this would make it easier on everyone.

Ok so I read really good and pretty bad reviews on this thermometer. So I did an accuracy test with myself and my 18 year old I took my temp 3x’s on each temple waiting the right amount of time in between and the highest between sides was 98.

4 the lowest out of each side 98. 0 but the majority of them were 98. 1. I also took my temp 3x’s with a pharmacy brand fast and supposed to be accurate so it was like a 2 way test. Well the 3 were 97.

8, 97. 9, and 98. 2 so both were fairly accurate just a bit off both ways but not enough for bad reviews at all. To me that’s pretty darn accurate especially with 2 different types and totally different store brands being just that tiny bit off.

So before you judge by bad reviews please just spend the little money first and do this experiment. I just had to say something bcuz I get tired of not just doing a little work to see some things for myself.

Oh my 18 year old did just one side 3x’s and his were just as close if not closer. So it’s obviously accurate!! Great price too and great product!.

It seems to be consistently 1 degree too high. I had COVID a couple weeks ago, and this read my temperature at over 101. Seems slightly high, but understandable. Now that COVID is gone, it still reads my temperature at 99.

6. It would also read 0. 5 degrees off just minutes apart on the same spot, so it’s hard to tell if I have a fever at the time or not. Even still. the variance is not too bad, and the offset is consistent, so it’s still useful in determining how bad your fever is.

Three visits to the ER with the third time we had two thermometers with us, one brand new and the second one is two years old with us, both differs between 1-1. 3 degrees Celsius when compared to the ER thermometers.

The many negative reviews also shows that Braun obviously doesn’t take them seriously as the device is still being sold or nothing has been communicated about it. General functionality: Power on does a segment test it says in the manual, flashing all the colors on the display, i guess for us to see if something is wrong with them.

The most annoying thing is that there is no backlight once it’s started so you cant see which age you are choosing if you are taking the temperature during the night in a dim room, but it sure beeps every time i push the button.

No option/button/slider to disable the buzzer that tells you the temperature is read, which should be a bit handy as you often use these with infants, and when they might be sleeping.

Wanted a quick reliable thermometer as our forehead infrared one by a different brand gives varied readings depending on the room temperature! Works quickly as it says. Has 3 modes 0-3m, 3-36m, 36+. Do read instructions as different areas of the body have different baselines for fever readings.

Only downsides are there is no light when trying to select the age mode so in the dark you have to have a light on, and you have to turn it on/off to take another temperature, expected for the price.

It’s a thermometer good size readout and accurate. Age related function great if you have kids, but a bit of pain if you haven’t as it defaults to newborn and you need to cycle up to adult everytime it is turned on! Personally the colour indications are useless as my normal temperature is 1 degree lower than average and therefore when this device indicates 37c it’s green when I have a temperature.

If you are like me just be aware to ignore the colours if necessary.

I really love how high tech this thermometer is, some of the things I really enjoy about this thermometer is how it reads the temperature out loud, I love the display, the flash light and I also really love that this thermometer has the capability of telling my pulse.

I was looking for a new thermometer to use for my kids (age 5 and 8) when I came across this infrared thermometer, the dualscan ultra pulse. I was looking for something accurate, quick, and not oral.

I know oral temperatures are more accurate than the forehead ones, but my kids just don’t sit still and don’t put them under their tongues to use correctly anyway. I love that I can use this one on their ears or forehead, and that it has an instant reading.

Not only that, but it reads the result for you so that you don’t have to take your eyes off your child. One thing that I love more than any of those features though, is the pulse rate monitor. I didn’t think I would use it, but it comes in handy to keep an eye on if they are heading towards getting dehydrated or not (if their pulse is too fast).

The other feature I used more than I thought I would was the flashlight on it. I personally thought, why on earth would I need a flashlight on a thermometer, until said 5 year old said he thought something was stuck up his nose.

I am so extremely pleased with the DualScan Ultra Pulse Thermometer from MOBI. The instructions were simple and set up was a breeze. This thing has so many features! When not in use the thermometer displays the date, time and the current room temperature.

It has talk mode where it will read out the temperature when you take it. I did find the talk mode to be a bit loud, but you have the option to turn that off, which I appreciate. There is also a flashlight button to use to make it easy to take your child’s temp at night without disturbing them.

ets Start out by saying we LOVE Braun in our family! We got this as a voxbox to review and coming into cold season I was excited to test it out. Pros:The thermometer turns on extremely quick and is ready to go much quicker than our older Braun.

Its EXTREMELY easy to use and guides you when needed. So if you are too far away from the forehead to do the no touch it displays a FWD sign until you get close enough. The color screen along with easy to ready numbers are perfect.

Its much like a stop light in the colors. Green means normal/good, yellow is slightly high and red means high. It doesn’t take long to read the temp whether its the no touch or when putting it to forehead so that means for those with young kids its extremely quick and isn’t a hassle.

ConsReally the biggest con for me is I noticed that the no touch part is more inaccurate compared to the touch to the forehead. I did a test with my old Braun in the ear thermometer that I’ve used for years and the forehead touch and my old one were very close in degrees (maybe slightly off by.

02-. 04 degrees). the no touch seemed to sometimes fluctuate in degrees by 1 or 2 degrees compared to the other ways. So that can mean the difference between a high temp or a “need to watch” temp. So its not often I use the no touch part but its nice to have with a quick check.

I would recommend this thermometer no doubt about it to any mom! It really does make the sick days a little less of a hassle on the temperature taking!.

I think this is a great thermometer but getting your child to sit still while using is the problem. I usually try to take the temperature three times to make sure it is correct. I like that it has replaceable ear tips.

Gets the job done quickly. Nice design, comfortable to hold. I would give 5 stars however after reading many reviews that questioned the reliability and consistency of temperature readings I began to question the display when I was taking my daughters temperature a day after her vaccinations, and even though she was feverish and burning up, the thermometer claimed she is at a normal temperature.

I also tried it at a later date when she was back in full health and according to the thermometer she had a fever. I still use it but I don’t don’t know whether I can fully trust it. Other times though, it seems to get it right.

Sometimes I double check using a different one. But that defeats the purpose of forking out £30 for a good reliable thermometer.

I recently bought 2 of these screens. The quality of the screen was very nice however one was 6 inches shorter in width than the other. Therefore they don’t match up equally in height.

You get what you pay for. its not solid black it is see through. the whole point of a “privacy screen” is for privacy. the width and height is great, but these should not be see through, most likely won’t purchase again.

I bought this thermometer because it claim to give the reading in ten seconds. It does indeed give its reading in about 10 seconds, however, the results area all over the place, usually lower than actually value measured by other conventional thermometers, which take longer time to give the results but much more consistent.

Works great. I ordered 2, just in case we need an extra one. Very good price!
