20 Best Thick Carpet Vacuum (2022 Updated)

Hands down this is the BEST and ONLY Vacuum Cleaner you will ever need to buy. It is the lightest weight of any Vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. It 9s an absolute must to purchase for people who have had neck and back surgeries or any type of Orthopedic issues.

An absolute must for independent elderly people who take pride in their homes and enjoy vacuuming daily. I could literally work this Vacuum with using two fingers and it is a breeze to Vacuum stairs.

My British Shorthair cat Teddy Bear weighs more than this Vacuum cleaner. The suction is amazing and it picks up Persian Type Cat hair with one simple pass. It comes with hospital grade HEPA filtration and a light air freshener pods.

My only complaint is that we don’t have several air freshener choices. I have been spoiled with the wonderful Febreeze air freshener Vacuum accessories and would love for Soniclean to allow Febreeze to create one for the SFC-7000.

This Vacuum cleaner is worth every penny and I promise you won’t be disappointed. If you like barely there scents you may enjoy the air freshener that comes with the Vacuum but personally I couldn’t really smell it because it was way too light for me.

I enjoy the stronger scent of Febreeze, but make no mistake, that was my one and only complaint. Do yourself a favor and by this Vacuum and you will be vacuuming your house in half the time and with the greatest of ease.

I haven’t owned this vacuum very long, and will update my review if my first impressions change. I purchased Mohawk Smart Strand carpet for my whole house because I was impressed with the warranty and tech specs.

The carpet store I purchased through didn’t really talk about vacuuming except to say that my old vacuum cleaner may not roll across this softer carpet. Well my Panasonic did seem to work just fine. However, when I went to Mohawk’s website to get all the specifics of their 25 year warranty, I discovered some surprises regarding how to care for this style of carpet fiber.

They want you to have the carpet cleaned by a certain type of cleaning company (certified) and save all your receipts! Plus after reading their specifics about vacuuming, I questioned whether using my Panasonic was a good idea – the bristles on the rotating brush are very stiff, almost as stiff as a grout cleaning brush I use.

So I called Mohawk customer service to discuss. They were helpful and sent me a list of approved vacuums for Smart Strand carpet fiber. At first I felt miffed at the thought of spending more money when I have a perfectly good vacuum, but then I thought about the investment I have made in purchasing this carpet (over $12,000).

So spending $379 to protect this investment seems like the smart thing to do. I do prefer a bag over the bagless vacuums (which I have found to be filthy), so this Soniclean is a plus. It is very light (I believe 10 pounds vs my 35 pound Panasonic).

Very few features and No attachments is a negative. So, I use the Soniclean only on the Mohawk carpet, and my old vacuum for everything else. The Soniclean is LOUD. I wear ear plugs and that solves the problem.

It rolls nicely over the carpet and adjusting the vents is not an issue. I have the vents on the middle opening for plush carpet, and adjust to wide open to vacuum the “shag” carpet. It works. The cord is long.

I have not experienced any negative issues with the operation of the Soniclean.

We moved into a new home with luxury plush carpet and an extra thick pad underneath. My Shark vacuum that I love would hardly move on it, regardless of the setting. This vacuum moves easily even on the deep clean mode, and cleans very well.

It’s been weeks and still the bag seems pretty empty so I think it will last a while. There are no attachments, so that would be an improvement. But I only use this for our carpeted bedrooms and use the Shark for all other tasks, like wool runner on the stairs and hardwood floors.

100% would buy this again. But they can’t seem to figure out how to ship me the replacement bags.

This vacuum is extremely heavy. It took both my hands to swivel right to left. I can only vacuum for ten minutes at a time because of how heavy this vacuum is and it took all my force to swivel right to left.

A vacuum should not be this hard to use. I’m only 33 years old and am exhausted after only ten minutes of using it. They need lighter vacuums, and bigger dust cups. My old shark swiveled way easier to, so they need to go back to the old parts for easier swiveling.

Plus I’m right handed, which is another big issue. The cord is on the right side of the vacuum and I’m right handed. I use my right hand and right leg to move the vacuum back and fourth, so the cord is constantly under my feet tripping me.

They need more vacuums with the cord on the “left side” for us right handed people. Also why are they using really shiny plastic on the vacuum and hand tools. Everything looks horrible after a couple uses, its all scratched up badly.

They use to use a better, stronger plastic that was not shiny! I wish they would let me build them a perfect vacuum lol! I don’t know who’s all designing them, but they’re doing a bad job. A vacuum should be built good and easy to use.

The last four I purchased, I had to return. Either the shiny plastic came out of the box all scratched up and looking cheap. Or the cords on the right side, which was the majority of them. Or the dust cup is so small, I would’ve had to dump it every 10 minutes.

Or the vacuum is so heavy, I could barely push it and the swiveling is very hard to use. And one of them wouldn’t suck up dirt in reverse. One more thing to add, the hose should be on the right side, for us right handed people, not the left side.

I’m really hoping this post,so other people can find the right vacuum and not go through everything I went through.

This vacuum is really powerful, yet manages not to pull the rugs out of place and up the hose. I have several cats and a real hair and litter mess constantly. I can see litter in the path and it pulls ALL of it into the canister.

No bits pop across the floor and away like with other vacuums. This is a huge improvement over past engineering. It’s easy to maneuver. Some state it’s heavy, but I don’t have any problem with the weight.

With a vacuum this powerful, I don’t know how you’re going to have a light weight motor, so just think about this a minute. It’s about 17 lbs. I think it will be important to clean filters often so the motor doesn’t burn out.

This is what happened with my Shark Rocket, but it was completely my fault. I’m upgrading from an expensive well -known other brand and expect to be a Shark vac customer for life. I love the lift away feature too.

I *really like* this vacuum a LOT and would have given it 4. 5 stars if possible! It maneuvers nicely and has great suction in both the floor and carpet modes and it does not bind up, as promised. The cleaning wand with power head option is super! It’s is just a bit heavier than I would like and all the attachments don’t have a “place” on the unit.

I do empty out the canister often as I’ve got a furry one. A retractable cord would also be a helpful feature. Overall, a really great Shark product and a nice upgrade from the other one I own elsewhere.

Price, on sale from Best Buy, was right, too!!.

I wanted to like this vacuum so badly but unfortunately it was just poorly designed. If you want a vacuum that has a functional detachment and can be used on carpet without pulling muscles, this is not it.

First off, It does do a great job cleaning the carpet which is probably how it garnered such good reviews. However, that positive aspect is rendered moot when you can’t even use the vacuum. For example, the auto adjustment for carpet to hard floor that it boasts, hardly works.

Since you can’t adjust the height settings on your own, it sticks way too far down on most carpet and thus is impossible to push around. It did not move with ease on any carpet and needed to be pushed with two arms just to keep it moving.

Furthermore, the hose that detaches for detail cleaning is impossible to use. It has two feet of hard plastic connected to the hose so it doesn’t bend and is rendered unusable unless you want to get corners on a 6 foot ceiling.

Sure, you can use it to vacuum little spaces, if you’re willing to stand three feet away from them and have no mobility or dexterity with the vacuum. I hate to be negative but I don’t want others to get swooned by the design or positive reviews like I did.

Ive used Dyson for the past 20 years. Theyre sturdy, reliable and will keep going for years. I was so pleased to be able to find this model as Dyson seem to be moving away from making cylinders and upright plug in vacuums.

This upright model is really powerful and is perfect for our busy house and constantly malting collie. We have carpets throughout our home which keep our draft old Victorian town house cosy and warm underfoot.

So our Dyson vacuum is in constant use. This model is light and easy to use, especially on flights of stairs. The ball makes it effortless manoeuvring around furniture. It empties easily and cleanly.

There are plenty of attachments including two spinning brush heads, one slightly smaller than the large one on the main part of the vacuum, and a small one which is great for the carpeted stairs. The attachments clip on and off easily and all but the larger brush head can be stored on vacuum ready and at hand to use while your cleaning around the house.

The only downside is the extendable hose and metal tube which are great for reaching difficult areas but are also awkward to use in others. The hose keeps tightening up (I think due to the powerful suction) so its difficult to vacuum away from the main body of the machine.

(My previous Dyson was a cylinder type so I was used to working with it differently. ) All in all, Im very pleased with my new Dyson and I know Ill get used to using an upright again. I love how powerful it is and its always pleasing to feel and see all the muck being pulled out of the carpet so easily.

This is my 5th Dyson machine so I am loyal to the brand. However, this vacuum is horrible… if you want to use it on CARPET. I have a low cut pile in all bedrooms, not a shag, just a normal carpeting.

This machine is so very hard to push, but the most frustrating thing is how the roller just stops randomly, sometimes within seconds, sometimes within minutes. To get it going again, you have to turn the machine off completely, then back on.

And then the process starts all over again. I hate this thing! I can’t speak to all the attachments because I haven’t used any of them since I am definitely sending this machine back. Good suction is terrific, but an upright vacuum should work properly on carpeting since primarily a vacuum is for carpet; this machine obviously has too much suction since it sticks to the floor, won’t move, and shuts down.

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. The self-adjusting cleaner head, all floors, and whole-home advertising is deceiving. This model is a good choice ONLY if you have NO CARPETING in your home.

I should have read the bad reviews more carefully before purchasing, but I trusted Dyson, and didn’t. Evidently this is a real common problem, because I’m not the only one reporting it. Dyson evidently knows, because seems like they are sending out the same generic reply that it doesn’t work on all carpet when it’s brought up in reviews.

They know, but 1) not fixing the issue and 2) not making that point clear in their “Learn more” details. If you want to vacuum carpet, rethink purchasing this machine.

Omg, I didn’t think it was possible but I am in LOVE with this vacuum cleaner. I’m the type of person who painstakingly researches all of my purchases before going through with them, and this vacuum was no exception.

The reviews were great but this vacuum surpassed my expectations. It is light enough to be able to vacuum comfortably but it packs some serious sucking power. I used to have an inexpensive handheld before I got my American Eskimo Dog, and it showed to be no match for his extreme shedding.

I was stressing out because a lot of models, even specifically pet ones, had many negative reviews about the hair getting caught and having to stop and remove it several times each vacuuming session.

This product has been amazing and I’ve never had a problem with anything, especially hair getting caught. I also have long hair (to approximately my mid-back) that winds up everywhere. Sometimes I wonder how I have any left on my head.

This vacuum picks everything up like a champ. I clean the roller after every session just to ensure there aren’t any problems but it really isn’t even necessary. I have a 650 square foot apartment with tile (kitchen and bathroom), laminate flooring everywhere else, and several area rugs (two of them are thick, shaggy ones that my dog loves to lounge on).

The True Pet motorized attachment cleans them like brand new in a matter of minutes. You’ll be amazed (and maybe horrified) at what it picks up from carpet/rugs. I empty the canister twice per session when I vacuum the whole apartment, which is great considering how much it picks up.

I can’t even begin to tell you how pleasant it is to do everything with this vacuum. Moving it, swapping out attachments, and even detaching the handheld top portion to use by itself is a dream. Everything glides in and out so smoothly.

I had to struggle with my previous vacuum to attach the various pieces which was really frustrating and led to chipped nails and an annoying experience. It also overheated several times during each session and would shut itself off, so I couldn’t clean the whole apartment with it at once.

This model never overheats or loses power. You don’t realize how much little things like that matter until you have something better.

First of all, I liked the Shark corded electric broom, its stability. It can be placed in an upright position, without it slipping or falling. I appreciated the double brush that manages to reach even the edges of the baseboard and the narrowest corners.

And I also liked the rubber edge of the brush so it doesn’t damage items if it accidentally bumps into it. The LED lights placed on the brush of the broom are also very useful to make the most microscopic dirt visible.

Convenient the system empties the dust container, without dirtying or having to shake the container to let the dust out. The noise level of the decibels is normal. But here’s what I would improve: certainly its weight and also the possibility of having a more compact and small floor brush to reach small spaces.

Even the plastic wheels, if they were replaced with rubber wheels to make less noise on the floor, would be the top. And finally, I would improve the suction force. In conclusion, I found so many good points about this vacuum cleaner that mine doesn’t have.

In fact, I use it in addition to mine, because this one from Shark is able to clean more where mine does not reach. It is equipped with an electric cable, guarantees an unlimited autonomy of the appliance.

In conclusion, it is a product that I really liked and still give 5 stars, because it is competitively priced on the market and really useful for removing animal hair effectively. I recommend this product if you are looking for a corded electric broom that cleans well and without too many pretensions.

Shark Rocket Pro Corded Stick Vacuum is light weight & really easy to remove the canister from the stick stick. Glides nicely over our entire house which has mostly wood floors and tile, but did well on multiple rugs with different pile heights.

It even comes with attachments to clean the stairs, furniture or our SUV & truck. We had a different cordless one but needed a vacuum we didn’t have to worry about running out of battery 1/2 way through our home.

The cord is super long so that helps us from having to re-plug every few feet. The dust compartment is simple to empty and clean out with a press of a button. We have 2 dogs and 4 kids so we’re constantly vacuuming, the power is awesome and it’s convenient to easily unload the debris.

It’s lightweight too, so it’s easy for me to move around the house without it being a hassle. There is a little downside to it, which is that it doesn’t stand on its own, so you’ll have to either prop it on something or fold it (which is easy) in order to do something else if needed while vacuuming.

So I’m taking it down a star for that since I do have to stop and pick up toys etc having kids & pets constantly playing.

I have this vacuum cleaner since 2019. Works well, the light still works, it’s light weight enough, but it could be a lot less fragile. The handle broke off November 2020 and was replaced at Oreck Vacuums near me at my expense.

The handle lasted almost a year until it broke again in August 2021. I have all tile floor, 3 runners and 1 rug. Both times it broke when I was vacuuming a runner. My local store didn’t have the part and didn’t know when they would have it.

I tried epoxy glue plus Duck tape but it didn’t hold for long. I called customer service and they gave me the part number so I could order online. I finally got the part today (03/14/2022) and it’s half a handle.

Would I recommend this vacuum cleaner? NO. If you already have it, I recommend putting some Duck tape around the bottom of the handle to give it support BEFORE it brakes.

We’ve been through four different vacuums in the last year for the new, longer/thicker carpeting we had installed and have struggled: A Dirt Devil. SO LOUD we returned it. A Shark that one could not push through the room no matter what and boy was that a LOUD machine, though highly rated.

A cordless, expensive Bissell, that was light and easy, but did not deep clean carpeting. Now we use that just on the hardwood floor. Finally we bought this because my inlaws have an old Oreck. This Oreck is clearly louder than theirs, has only one speed, works well enough, but still a bit hard to push through the thick carpet.

Has a good light on it. We’re satisfied enough to keep it.

Sigh. This is the third review that I have written to pan my current Oreck vacuum purchase. Apparently there was TMI in my previous posts. So, Oreck, in their intrepid task to be as transparent but protective of my PI as humanly possible, has not published those reviews and requested I revise.

Here you go: this vacuum is heavier than any of the other Orecks I have owned in recent years. It is not as efficient as other Orecks I have owned. It requires ALL NEW vacuum cleaner bags that will not fit my older Orecks.

Planned obsolescence? (Look it up). Perhaps. But, to reiterate: it’s not the solution to climate change, it’s just a vacuum cleaner.

Could not be happier with this vacuum – it provides an incredible amount of suction, it has a high quality construction, and there’s many intelligent features built in that make it a joy to use. This is actually my second Dyson ball vacuum – sadly, my ex-wife took my original 😉 That vacuum was amazing and am super happy to have this newer version.

The construction is top-notch. Everything is tight, solid, and durable. For reference, the original I had was over 3 years old and it performed just like new after many years of using it to clean up after 2 dogs and a couple cats.

This newer version actually feels a little more robust so I am sure this will last just as long if not longer. In terms of cleaning power, this could be the main reason Dyson is so popular. It provides quite of bit of suction for everything from floors to furniture.

The main head on the bottom of the vacuum has 3 different modes from hard surfaces like tile and hardwood to light carpet to thicker carpet and it does a great job at picking up pet hair even with the deepest of carpets.

This version of the Ball Animal 3 comes with a combination tool (nozzle and soft brush) as well as a stair tool. The stair tool has these little velour strips that helps pick up hair from carpets and that works well.

If your pet (or other humans – no judgement) shed a lot hair, you may want to consider the Ball Animal 3 Extra which runs $100 more but that comes with the Pet Groom Tool as well as the Tangle-free turbine tool.

I had the tangle-free turbine tool on my last Dyson and found that to be a fantastic tool for cleaning cat hair from furniture. The other thing about Dyson products are the smart features that make it super convenient and also eco-friendly.

The canister for storing debris easily pops off with a single button and then a secondary button releases the bottom of the canister for emptying easily into a trash can. The hose is built right into the handle of the vacuum so there’s none of that additional hose that you have to loop around the vacuum or anything like that.

It’s all integrated. In addition, there’s also eco-friendly features such as a washable filter as well as even how Dyson products are packaged. 99% of the packaging is completely recyclable. There’s a reason Dyson products are so popular and I’m super happy to add this to my other Dyson products.

So I’ve owned a Ball Animal 2 for about 3 yrs and have had a love/hate relationship with it. And having owned the Ball Animal 3 for almost a month now, I can honestly say I still have a love/hate relationship with this brand.

I purchased the Animal 3 because I was glad to finally see that Dyson opted to change the Cleaning Head to what the UK variant has had for awhile now, which is having a carpet height selector. Now I really have to say that the Animal 3 has so much better suction with having the carpet height selector, but that also has a negative that I’ve found.

I find it very difficult to turn now compared to the Animal 2 which turned on a dime. I will for sure keep it as I don’t want to jump through the hoops of returning it, but I don’t believe I will be making any future Dyson vacuum purchases in the future after this experience.

The cost of these vacuums is very much on the high side and with that you would expect that they would do their own inhouse study/testing and they seem to have failed at this. In the end it basically comes down to the fact that the negatives outweigh the positives when compared to what you expect when making such an expensive purchase.

Yes the suction is probably the best you’ll ever have with any vacuum on the market BUT with negative costs. Being a “BALL” vacuum and unlike the Animal 2 that could turn easily, this thing is a major struggle to turn.

NOT GOOD! The Animal 3 also has the same issues like the Animal 2 in that trying to use the hose is a chore on it’s own. The suction is just so strong that you basically need to have the vacuum right next you or end up having to do things like.

prop the vacuum around the corner of a wall and then stretch out the hose while also having some decent arm and upper body strength to do so with even minimal comfort. The “Cyclone” portion of the vacuum is a very poor design.

Due to a common static charge while vacuuming, it allows for dust to build up in massive clumps within the Cyclone piece. You need to constantly bang the heck out of this piece while over a trash can in order to keep it even somewhat clean.

And they don’t make it so the Cyclone can be easily disassembled for cleaning which is a huge disappointment and failure within it’s design. I also find it upsetting that even though Dyson offers a TON of accessories for these upright models.

they don’t offer one of the most common of accessories. a basic dusting brush! Yes it comes with a combo tool for crevice and dusting. They even offer a wide variety of other dusting attachments. ones that can twist for angled dusting, one that can bend etc etc.

but then not your basic common everyday short dusting brush that’s found on 99. 9% of vacuums since they were invented. Really boggles my mind. No lie. since I still have the Animal 2, I took the combo tool from that one and ended up cutting off basically 80% of the crevice tool portion to make my own “basic short dusting brush!”.

Dyson if your listening: You should have listened to your customer base and address the issue with the hose being difficult to use. I’m sure there has to be a solution. maybe a hose that’s not as stiff? Look into my “home modification” of the basic short dusting brush and release a factory version.

And please look into the problem of the Animal 3 being so much harder to turn compared to the Animal 2.

GOOD – Long cord – Good suction – End-user serviceable design – Fairly compact BAD – Doesn’t steer as easily as other swivel heads – Fixed extension wand can get in the way – Cleaning on hard floors could be better – Runs hot DETAILS Dyson vacuums are well known for their performance and reliability.

My experience with this rendition of their Ball design bears that out, and I’ve been largely pleased with it. The Animal version of the Ball is marketed specifically at people with pets, to clean up the hair from carpets and furniture.

I find it’s also handy if you or the people you live with have long hair. In general, it cleans quite well. It has very powerful suction and the power bar base has three settings for deep pile carpet, normal carpet, and hard floors.

The power bar itself can also be toggled on and off. I found it cleaned my carpets quite well, though cleaning my hardwood left a little to be desired ( the instruction manual recommends turning the power bar off for this, I’m not sure why ).

It also has a very generous cord length. And though Dyson created the Ball design specifically to make it easier to steer the vacuum around corners and obstacles, I find it much stiffer to turn than other current swivel head vacuums.

I appreciate Dyson’s design in the vacuum. It’s fairly modular, making it relatively easy to service and maintain yourself, provided you can get a replacement part. The filters are washable so you can reuse them instead of constantly buying new replacements.

It also keeps things slim and trim so the vacuum is a little more compact than other full-size uprights. This particular model also comes with two extra attachment tools. One is an upholstery brush/cleaner, the other is a pet grooming tool that’s supposed to suck up the shedded hair as you brush.

How well your pet will handle being brushed near a vacuum remains to be seen. But sometimes I think it tries to be too clever. It uses a friction snap instead of a pedal to release the vertical lock.

It’s usually fine, but it also means you can accidentally release the upright lock when you don’t want to, like if you want to tilt the vacuum back and roll it somewhere or even if you pick it up and then set it down.

The extension wand is stored inside the hose in the main column. This is nice for reducing the exterior dimensions, but it also means you have to unwind the entire cord and slide out the entire wand when you want to do some quick spot cleaning.

You can detach the wand from the hose if you don’t need or want the reach, like in a small corner or nook, but in those moments where you just want to quickly clean up some cookie crumbs or dust bunnies, it’s more involved than you might be used to.

The main handle is also reversed to accommodate the extension wand, putting the main column below your hand instead of above it when you’re using the vacuum. This means the vacuum tilts back farther than others when using it.

For myself, I found my legs and knees bumped into main unit a lot since it was now leaning more toward me. Most of these complaints are small quirks, admittedly. They may or may not matter to you. All in all, it’s a well built vacuum, it cleans well, and it stores easily.

It does have a few quirks and the “exhaust” air is quite hot, but these are minor complaints on an otherwise great vacuum.

This vacuum was on my radar for 2-3 months before I pulled the trigger. Historically, I’d never considered purchasing a Shark product that was somewhat comparable in price to a Dyson. It sounds silly, but does it really? Dyson seems to have the “market” convinced that they’re the king of suction.

I currently own 2 Dyson vacuums (handheld and upright) and they a do a great job on hard wood and tile floors, but stairs and car interiors were a huge hassle to clean regularly. In addition to those 2, I own and use an additional 6 handheld or upright vacuums in combination against German Shepherd glitter.

The Shark ® Vertex ™ Bagless Corded Canister Vacuum in Black/Copper has blown all of them all away! I’m not particularly strong, so the overall weight of the canister and the attachment is significantly important to me.

It’s so versatile and powerful out of the box and I think this is due to the actual power cord vs cordless vacuums. In my opinion, corded power is significantly stronger. I’ve been able to clean all areas with ease using the vacuum head, power handle, and attachments.

Hard to reach areas behind the toilets, the dust on baseboards, windowsills, light fixtures, inside drawers, behind/between car seats, lint catch in the dryer, my dog’s bed (twice a day), and so many other things that I hated doing because the other vacuums are so much heavier or cumbersome.

The brush roll attachment is not too wide and not too narrow, as it covers a great amount of space but it able to navigate tighter spaces that my uprights cannot. I was so impressed with it’s performance that I purchased additional attachments on the Shark website.

The Self Cleaning Pet Power brush is phenomenal! They should really sell a version that includes this brush for pet parents, because the brush is insanely good. I spent an additional $160 for 4 attachments plus tax/shipping, but only the power pet brush was really necessary.

Overall, I wish I would have purchased this much sooner! I purchased it when Costco had it priced much lower than BBB, but with a sale and a BBB Beyond + membership, it was still cheaper and only a few bucks more than the non-duo clean version.

The only con, is that the dust cup does get dusty when it’s emptied- but like someone else said, that’s normal with any vacuum. German Shedder (Shepherd) mom approved!.

My Shark canister vacuum was a Christmas gift. We have a Shark lift away upright; which I love but I wanted a canister vacuum to be able to clean everything from one room to the next. Unfortunately, thus one just doesn’t do the task for me.

I cannot go very far with this vacuum as it tips over while trying to get to the attachments or if you are trying to vacuum from the floor the hose isn’t very bling or an addition metal hide attachment is needed.

I like to vacuum my drapes, window shades and window seals and furniture. If I try to reach my curtains the entire canister lifts up which makes it difficult for me to get my chores done. I also do not like the attachments being attached on the outside as they get In the way and fall off.

The canister unit needs to have a self storing compartment under the lid for additional attachments. The beater bar unit needs to be able to stand up by itself without falling over. I must definitely would love Shark to have a model canister that I can use from one room to the next with just a switch of attachments.

Including a separate floor attachment for hard floors along with the crevice and small wand for furniture would be awesome. An additional metal wand that would extend so I could reach my ceiling fans and drapes would be amazing.

Having a detachable beater bar unit along with the separate hard floor attachment would ever so helpful and will save on the beater bar unit getting dirty from kitchen and bathroom floors. If you could take these added features with the awesome cleaning power of the Shark; you would have a winning machine.

I hope these suggestions will be welcomed by your designing department. Thank you for allowing my review of this product. In do love the cleaning power of your uprights; I just really like the all in one canister vacuum.

This is an amazing vacuum. The Shark Navigator light upright vacuum is the best budget Shark vacuum for small to mid-sized rooms. It has the same suction power as the advanced units and cleans well for both carpet and hardwood floorings.

The only negative about this product is that it does not contain a HEPA filter. Other than that, the vacuum performs admirably and it definitely feels light enough to transport to different areas of the home.

I believe that this product is built durably and will last for many years to come. Cleanup is a breeze using this product and I definitely enjoy the large container for trapping dirt and other particles.

The blue color scheme is masculine and has a sleek styling. I love this vacuum cleaner because it does the job well and it definitely is my cup of tea. I love Shark and want to sincerely thank the manufacturers for making such an excellent product!.

I would have given this 5 stars, but there are some design flaws. #1 The onboard tools are constantly falling coming off. #2 the hose design is frustrating, if you don’t twist the handle just so, the entire vacuum falls over.

#3 they could have added 3-5 extra ft on the power cord. All this would have been a huge negative but this vacuums sucking power saved it. This thing SUCKS & never clogs. Hard floors, carpet CHECK! It is lightweight and easy to use.

Also easy to empty the canister. Yes I’d recommend for a lightweight.

I would like to have seen additional views of the product other than the provided front and slightly side-angled view, particularly a clear view from behind the vacuum. Opening the top of the box you will find e instructions sheet tucked under a nicely printed Thank You note from Hoover.

The product is well packaged for protection but is not difficult to remove from the box. The attachments are tucked into side areas with the vacuum in the center. The cardboard pieces separating the packaging sections lifts out easily without stuggle and the vacuum unit is then free to be easily lifted from the box.

Assembly was a breeze. The handle simple slips into place with a push-pin style locking mechanism. There is a place for each attachment on the vacuum body for easy storage and access to the attachments.

My only complaint with my initial visual inspection is that the hose from the vacuum to the dirt canister appears longer than it needs to be and gets in the way a little when winding the cord onto the unit.

After using in my main living area, where we have carpet and a large area rug that the dog and cat hair clings to, the Hoover High Performance Swivel XL Pet Vaccuum did an extremely good job in picking up the pet hair from the rug if I used the Low Carpet setting.

The medium setting was picking it up but was requiem good several passes over the same area. In comparison, our past two vacuum cleaners have been much higher retail priced Dyson brand vacuums and those require several passes on the rug to pick up the hair.

This has been my number one complaint when vacuuming over the past couple of years but this Hoover seems to grab the hair much easier. The pet hair attachment is similar in nature to other pet hair removers we have in our Home, but with the added benefit of being a vacuum attachment.

It’s rubber “blades” helps scrape the pet hair for easy removal. This attachment worked wonderful on our couch, which tends to show pet hair pretty easily. The other attachment has brush like fibers all the way around it and has a swivel design making it perfect to clean dust from ceiling fan blades.

Finally, the long, narrowing tipped crevice tool makes cleaning between the couch cushions and the small area between the bottom of the couch and floor a breeze. I can’t wait to use that attachment when detailing the car! Overall, I would definitely recommend the Hoover High Performance Swivel XL Pet Vaccuum to anyone with pets.

I can not speak to its longevity or how well it’s suction over time, but I am impressed with its out of the box performance with pet hair that I’ve experienced trouble cleaning with my much more expensive (albeit much older) vacuums.

I received this vacuum for review. For about ten years we have had Shark vacuums so that is mostly what I have to compare it to. Here is what I love about it; It has great suction, I feel like it does a great job of pulling pet hair up from the carpet and leaves pleasing vacuum lines, I say better than the Shark we have.

The power cable is longer than the Shark, with the Hoover I can actually reach the extra bit that I need without having to re-plug into another outlet like I have to do with the Shark. The Hoover comes with several attachments that are useful, I love the soft bristle brush that I don’t have to worry about it damaging furniture/blinds and I love that there are two sizes for the long attachment.

We also have loved that the debris container is quite large and easy to take off and empty. I feel like the ergonomics of pushing the brush part down and pulling the handle back, then turning the power on with your foot is just a smooth easy flow.

Now some areas of improvement. The base where the main brush is is fairly tall compared to what we are use to. It doesn’t fit under furniture quite as well as I would like. Also the selector knob to select the height of carpet or bare floors is down on the base just behind the main brush.

First world problems, I know, but I feel like if it were higher up along the handle or somewhere on the back towards the top of the vacuum it would make it so much easier than stopping and having to go to the side of the vacuum and bend over to the lowest part.

My wife says that the swivel is too. stiff? It doesn’t swivel back and forth as easily as the Shark. I notice the difference but don’t necessarily find it to be an issue. Overall we are quite pleased with the Hoover Power Drive Swivel XL Pet.

With two dogs in the house we are no strangers to hair, the Hoover has been living up to its claim to be a pet vacuum.

I have been using the same Miele Canister for over 19 years. It is a good vacuum cleaner. It does reach hard to get places like under a couch. That’s if there is space under your couch. It does suck up what you have on the carpet very well.

I do have two complaints first the cost is high so you pay a lot at first. If you have it a long time it doesn’t amount to much each year. Second pulling it around can be a bit much. Oh it does come with good attachments.

I love the variable suction settings and its cleaning ability is unmatched. However, I think any vacuum that can’t roll over it’s own cord without getting stuck is inexcusable. I also find the “comfort handle” as they call it, a clunky pain when working in close quarters and using the attachments, especially the dusting brush and soft upholstery tool.

It’s much easier to just grasp the hose connection and ignore the handle. While maneuvering the power head, the handle moves the center of torque in FRONT of the wand and requires much more wrist torque to control the power head, which has a tendency to wander side to side while vacuuming.

The power head is also VERY heavy and too tall to easily slide under furniture. It only offers only 5, rather than infinite height settings, none of which work on one of my area rugs. It’s either too high and does nothing, and the next setting down chokes the brush roll.

For that one I drag out my old Eureka with it’s self-adjusting head. It is very quiet, even at the highest suction setting. You can’t really hear it running, just the whoosh of air into the hose.

I hd a Miele canister vacuum a few years ago that I regrettably left when I moved across the country. I currently have a big ol’ Hoover Wind Tunnel upright that is so heavy and takes up so much space in my apartment.

It doesn’t even clean as well as my old Miele did — and I recently learned I had picked the wrong one–mine was only for hard floors, not carpeting — which worked just great on my hardwood floors covered with rugs.

I’m going back to Miele.

Im so excited that I purchased another Carpet Pro. I had one for over 15 yrs, prior to this purchase, and I loved using. I was very disappointed when it stopped working. Anyone who has pets and/or kids or both, you should really purchase this Carpet Pro you will not be disappointed.

We love these vacuums for commercial use in the offices we clean every day because they are easy to push, and they are tough. Not so much plastic, as in so many others. This version is better than others they have, as the handle is all metal too.

Hardly any maintenance, bags aren’t too expensive, and just really reliable. Love the longer cord, could even be longer, but 40 instead of 30 is always good!.

This is actually a Panasonic vacuum private labeled. I have been using them for 25 years. They work incredibly well. In my opinion they are as good as vacuums that are 3 x the price. The only difference it that you need to purchase bags, though they are very inexpensive.

I have owned other leading brands in the past and let me tell you! Ever since I had purchase my 1st shark 5 years ago which it did last for that long until my tubing ripped and couldn’t find replacement parts for it.

The shark company provides wonderful products that really have a high performance. They’re efficient, lighted for better visibility, have great maneuverability when rotating. So when my husband found me this as a replacement I knew I just had to try it.

It came with 3 attachments and has a lift away function where I can leave the floor part and walk with the bucket basically and vacuum in hard to reach places and stairs. It’s not too heavy and very easy to use! I love how powerful the vacuum is.

It picks up any mess my littles leave me. I use this 3x a day and it’s not an imposition to unravel the cord plug it in an unplug and ravel the cord back up. It’s super quick and easy and honestly, I find vacuuming enjoyable and now have a machine that not only happens to be my favorite color, but my favorite brand as well! So happy to have found this! Oh and did I mention how easy it is to clean and there’s a compartment for when/if definitely when something gets Caught in the hose and clogs it, there’s a compartment you can open on the side to get it out.

How neat no more burning up motors and having to completely disassemble to resolve an issue. Shark Also has made it super easy to clean and empty. There’s a separate compartment in the bucket with a mesh bucket so that it stays in there and filters out the debris and keeps the hair and/ bigger things trapped up too.

Love love it!.

Got this today, was a breeze to assemble and get going. Picks up a lot of dirt and hair quickly, I like the no tangle bush as we have a longer hair dog, and my wife and daughter both have long hair which used to have to be cut from the beater bar of our old vac on a regular basis.

This one has 3 filters so good for allergies, and the dual brushes which did very well on carpet and hardwood, getting a lot of the dust on the wood floor the old one couldnt get. Only a few things to note, the bin is a bit small and had to be dumped a lot because of pet hair, 3 times on our main living room.

It is not the lightest vacuum but about the same as our old one. I wish it came with a cleaning brush head separate order. and had room on board for all the attachments instead of just 2. The head is low profile and fits places our old one would not, and it turns very well.

Will see how well it holds up as the Dyson 07 it is replacing lasted us for 20 years and did a good job consistently. Just didnt want to pay top dollar for a Dyson again. 3 months later and the vacuum is still doing a great job.

We have not had any problems with hair wrap on the brush bar with our golden retrievers fur. Still have to dump the bin a lot with pet fur. Still miss that there was no standard brush attachment, but came with basically two upholstery brushes one powered, one not.

About to order the standard long bristle cleaning brush so I can clean the air return and vents, be nice if the sizes were standard so I could just use the old ones from other vacuums. Another quick update, trying to find accessories like the dusting brush has been difficult.

Shark does not carry one on their website, even though the owners manual says they do, and cant or wont tell you the dimensions needed. Ordering one from Home Deliveries USA, let you know if it fits in a later update.

Well, it does vacuum well. And there is the HEPA filter. For reference, I am used to my old upright Eureka Boss Smart Vac (which lived a long life but recently died), and this Shark is harder use use in many ways.

For starters, a filter bag is so much easier to deal with than the canister, which has to be emptied after every vacuum, and doesn’t even empty completely on it’s own (i. e. you have to reach in to dislodge hair, etc).

I also failed to realize that with the swivel steering, the upright unit is just more unstable and a little harder to push overall as a result. The real kicker though is the almost complete uselessness of the attachments.

Because you have to take the upright handle off, the unit that is left is so short you then have to carry it around. In addition, the attachment tubing is so short that you have to bend over to use the attachments.

So you therefore are all bent over, trying to carry around the unit in order to use the attachments, which is very back breaking. So. It does vacuum; it does good on bare floors and area rugs of various pile depths.

If you never use attachments and don’t mind skin and nose contact with your floor detritus, then this vacuum could be fine for you.

I replaced my Advac14XP after 20+ years of use at my home. From my research and Internet reviews I selected the ProTeam ProForce 1500XP Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner with HEPA Media Filtration. It was difficult to assemble.

The handle/switch metal tube would not go in into the receptacle (Instructions Step #3) at the bottom of the housing channel. I had to insert/take out many times because the screw hole on the handle tube did not align with the threaded nut in the housing.

I had to hammer down the handle with my hand many many times to finally get the tube connector to go into the base receptacle. Once this was achieved, the screw secured the handle into position and the switch on the handle turned on the unit.

I like the wider 14″ path of commercial units over the narrower residential ones because I vacuum my house better, in less time and still fits between the furniture legs. This vacuum has more suction power (CFM) than my previous one.

The HEPA filters reduce the airborne particles from the exhaust. The softer/larger wheels roll smoother and more quietly. The HEPA filters protrude about one inch on the top and about one inch on the bottom of the filter housing.

This limits the reach of the vacuum under cabinets, beds, etc. Wish they had located the HEPA exhausts on the sides of the filter housing. It does a good job of vacuuming on wood, ceramic and carpeted floors.

Hope it lasts half as long as my old one!.

We have dogs. This Vac was highly recommended by the company that cleans my rugs. Excellent choice for households with dogs. The extra long cord is a plus, also. It lies flat to get under the bed and the ‘long’ arm on the side gets up close to the baseboard.

Perfect for our household.

The vaccum is basic, powerful and has the onboard tools so necessary for spring cleaning as well as a very long, heavy duty bright yellow cord. The vacuum is a bit heavy.

This commercial vacuum is GREAT. This heavy duty old school design is a Godsend. we’ve been through SO MANY cheap, poorly made vacuums that promise all these extra amenities but DON’T clean well and break easily.

we needed a GOOD, OLD SCHOOL VACUUM that sucks up dirt, period. We found it here. Easy to assemble. easy to empty, and being commercial grade, with our ‘residential level’ usage, it’ll last for YEARS.

I own a cleaning company and we only use Sanitaire vacuum cleaners. I have 5 of these exact vacuums and 4 of the canister vacs. They pick up great as long as you adjust the vacuum height for the carpet height.

The shake out bag can be kind of messy but we empty them outside and it’s definitely worth it since I don’t have to constantly buy bags. We also learned that it doesn’t always feel full when it needs emptied so if it stops picking up that’s usually the problem.

There are also no tools needed to replace the belt. One of the best parts about this vacuum!.

Have paid much more in the past for this same vacuum. Several years ago I noticed while traveling that many of the hotels I stayed at used this vacuum(brand) in their housekeeping departments. I figured if it’s good enough for their rigorous schedules it should be good enough for my home.

I have not been disappointed. This vacuum works great on both long carpet and rugs to hardwood flooring. Highly recommend. The only draw back is emptying the bag can be messy so make sure you’re outside when emptying.

I do not have a pet, I purchased this a couple of months ago because it claimed to have excellent suction. I learned the suction is really no better than any other vaccum I have owned. I also not impressed with the tools that came with it.

The wand extends to twice its length, which is a great idea, but it is hard to lock it in place and it collapses while using it. The brush that came with it is a pivoting dusting tool, bascially a two piece dusting brush that has a joint, its not a thick brush, as the brush is only on the outside rim of the tool which easily comes apart from the nozzle itself, and is really not good for anything other than high usage such as a ceing fan.

It also includes a crevice tool, and a pet turbo tool. As I said, I do not have a pet. When I first expressed my opinion about the tools I was offered a free dust brush and an upholstery brush. It took over a month to receive the free brushes, the upholstery brush was odd, with a hard detachable part, and felt around the edge of the tool itself.

It went in the trash. The dusting tool was exactly like one I had pruchased on line, for a few dollars. the brush part is very thin, again the brush only goes around the edge of the tool. The dusting brush also not a vry good tool.

When I looked on line to see the cost of the tools, I could not find upholstery brush. I guess the tools don’t sell very well so they used them as giveaways to make me feel better about the purchase.

Overall the vacuum itself works well, has good suction and does what it was designed to do. Does it work well for pet hair, I don’t know, but I don’t see why not. MY suggestion is for Hoover to go back to the drawing board, and make brushes that will actually do a good job, and don’t give away something that is not salable.

I recommed the vaccum, but find another source for the brushes.

Purchased this vacuum because my girlfriend and I shed as much an animal and it leaves space for pet hair in the future; and it was in sale, plus decision fatigue from all those “top vacuums of 2022” websites.

I’ve used it for about a month now It is exactly what I was looking for after weeks of looking at different comparisons and website. It has powerful suction, great for hair (and pet hair) hose and attachments for hard to reach places, can turn the dial and go from hardwood to carpet easily.

If you’re sensitive to noise, it is loud; but it’s a powerful vacuum so that is to be expected. It’s sturdy and does not feel cheap. The extended wand for hard to reach places is hidden on the additional arm attachment so don’t worry.

The instruction are great for telling you how to clean it and there is even a suction pressure dial that indicates when you should clean the filters so that’s handy. For the style of vacuum it can reach pretty far using the main suction (meaning it can be lowered pretty close to the floor while still maintaining suction) but don’t expect miracles.

It manoeuvres like you’d expect from a vacuum if this type but really easy to push around. The suction is so strong that when you use the wand attachment the hose “shrinks” under the pressure so you have to fight that and keep the vacuum in place or it will roll towards you.

Zero complaints about it. I love it and it’s serving me well so far.

Somehow it slipped my mind when I ordered this. If you intend to use the attachments or vacuum hard floors with this vacuum then purchase something else. Why? when using the attachments or vacuuming hard floors you can not turn off the carpet roller brush.

Completely unacceptable and this is not unique to Hoover, you need to be careful when purchasing any upright vacuums though more expensive ones most likely will have the feature and even some less expensive ones will too.

I was being careful as Hoover does make a model that I am going to buy someplace else just like this one in the same price range with a carpet roller brush turn off lever. Im really disappointed in Hoover, they have a great product, nice long hose (really important to me) ok attachments at this price, even rubber coated wheels instead of hard plastic but I guess the competition to keep price low compared to the other manufacturers are having them leave off this needed brush turn off.

Its really silly trying to use the all thoughtful attachments with nice long hose only to have the carpet brush roll spinning like crazy in one place on your hardwood floors ( I was cringing when this was happening) and if not on the hardwood try using the attachments on carpet and the vacuum will start walking on its own while you use the attachments.

Product = Fail.

I’ve never bought a Kenmore brand vacuum before, only HooverBissellShark. I usually have to buy a new vacuum every year (big dogs who shed and a son who brings home all the dirt from the ball field with him every day), so I’ve owned quite a few to compare to.

So far, this vacuum out cleans them all. It’s a bit heavier than I am use to, but this vacuum is self propelled and I barely have to push it along, even on thick carpets. It does a really good job keeping dust and dirt sealed within the system.

There was a definite noticeable difference in air quality and my allergies weren’t as bad after using this vacuum. (Compared to previous Hoover and bissell vacuums).

With only limited use so far: I love this vacuum. It is self propelled when the brush is on, very powerful suction and great dust containment. The roller tends to wad up my throw rugs on the back pull, but will continue to look for a way to address that.

I would change: NEEDS more and better on board attachment holders. I have the crevice tool in the holder and it tends to fall off. Plus no way to carry/store the other great attachments. Love the long cord!.

This vacuum is really great. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. Maneuverability The Oreck is very easy to move around. It is easy to vacuum under the bed and dresser. Ease of Maintenance its very simple and user friendly.

Its very easy to change the bag with no mess. Suction Performance Very high power. I have dogs and the Oreck vacuum does a very good job of removing hair. Versatility There are no complaints in this area.

The vacuum comes with the most commonly used tools. Design Unless your one that needs fancy features. The Oreck vacuum is simple, very lightweight and does what its supposed to do very well. Durability I have always recommended and stuck with Oreck.

I purchased this vacuum when i gave my previous Oreck vacuum to my daughter. I believe Oreck vacuums last longer because of their simple design.

It’s an excellent sweeper that takes a beating. Maneuverability The handle goes all the way down, allowing you to sweep under tables and furniture. Ease of Maintenance Other than belt changes, I have no maintenance issues.

Suction Performance Keeps up with two dogs. Versatility It does lack the ability to use attachments, which would be a nice feature to have. Design The only improvement I would make wuld be to change the bumpers.

They leave white streaks on furniture, and black streaks on white baseboards. The wide path is excellent. Durability I have to admit that I’m rather hard on sweepers, but it withstands lots of abuse and never skips a beat.

It’s even taken a tumble down a set of stairs, and started right up.

***The Oreck XLPRO14T Bagged Upright Vacuum is the best vaccum that I have ever owned! My Mother purchased it and all she ever talked about is how well it cleaned and it was the best vaccum she had ever used.

Since she was so scrupulous with her housekeeping, I realized that it must work fairly well or she would not have used it. She was a lifetime fan of Electrolux so I was somewhat surprised when she would only use the Oreck even though she still had 2 Electroluxs’ in her house.

Sadly she passed away from cancer and my sister told me Mom wanted me to have her Oreck. I had an old Shark vaccum that was heavy but I thought worked ok until I tried the Orck XLPRO14T. I could not believe how much debris it picked up (it is almost embarrassing how much my old vacuum didn’t clean as well!), my Mom was so right this is the best vacuum ever! I have arthritis like she did and it being so light-weight it doesn’t hurt when I use it.

Cleaning is a pleasure and my house looks great, I can thank my Mom for giving me her love and the best vacuum ever!***.

There are three sections the dirt goes in and I have to clean all three out each week, not just the one section it’s supposed to go into. The cat hair stays at the top, so I have to remove the middle section with the dirt then stick my hand up to take out the top cylinder and get it out to clean, dumping dust and other things all over the place in the process.

makes a terrible noise the whole time. Other vacuums we have had we had to wash out the filters every few months – this one it’s once a week. And that is all just for our home use, where we vacuum no more than twice a week and usually less than that!.

This is not what I would consider a commercial vacuam. Light cabinet, does not pick up well. Considering returning.

Does not work for thick carpet. Very dusty, dirty, messy emptying the 3 Dust cups and filters. Major messy task to clean out the 3 Dust cups and filters. I was covered in dust and the entire vacuum was covered in dust!.

I was looking for a vacuum since our was on its way out after 5+ years and couldn’t afford to spend alot right now. After comparing multiple products (on various websites) I found this one, read the reviews, checked store stock and picked it up.

Putting it together took seconds (no manual needed really), very lightweight, great suction and the handheld is perfect to get around the radiators, corners/baseboards. It takes minimal storage space in our aparment thanks to the slim design, shove it in a corner and your good to go.

We can now get a floor steamer/cleaner with the money we saved by buying this instead of a more expensive vacuum (and possibly being disappointed). If you are looking for a vacuum that is easy to use, under $100 bucks and actually WORKS then this is the one for you!! Thanks to Eureka!!.

I love this little vacuum! It’s lightweight and easy to use. I have laminate flooring and a furry dog. Therefore, I use it everyday to pick up the fur, bits of treats, and everything that we track in from outside.

It is easy to empty. The filter is easy to rinse out in the sink with a little dish detergent, and air dried. The cord is very long; sometimes I add an extension cord and do the whole apartment at once.

This little vac takes up a tiny bit of storage space.

I bought this vacuum a couple of days ago and out of the box, I am really impressed with it. I live in an apartment with hard floors. I think this vacuum has great suction. The swivel head attachment is fantastic and it makes the vacuum very easy to maneuver around and under furniture.

The crevice tool is great for corners and on base boards and I used it successfully on the sofa without any accessories. The canister very easy to empty after use. It’s very lightweight and takes up very little room to store.

The cord is a generous length although I do recommend using with an extension cord. I put some extra filter sponge into the filter cone to give it extra dust filter capability but the dust filter it comes with seems very effective on its own.

I dare say it is a better than any other non-central vacuum I’ve ever used. As a handheld, I can imagine it being great for cleaning a vehicle as well. This was $35 well spent. Although it seems to do a fairly good job on my entrance rug, I would not use this on an area rug.

This is a well-made, well-designed vacuum. It auto adjusts to different carpet heights and to hardwood floors. Very easy to use with excellent pick-up of debris. Although not self-propelled it feels as though it is.

Extra-long, heavy-duty, grounded power cord. It is lighter in weight than our previous Sharp and Eureka vacs. Below the power cord holder is a nice hand hold that makes it easier to carry up stairs. Sizable bag capacity.

Accepts Riccar 2000 and 4000 series bags such as the EcoPpure which is an ultrafiltration (HEPA) bag. Ours is the CPU-2T which includes a few tools. My only complaint is that the brush and crevice tools do not fit the hard plastic hose extension, thus tool reach is minimal.

I will probably purchase the longer hose as a solution.

Incredible bargain for a commercial upright! Powerful suction with solid construction for a no frills machine. Metal parts where you need them. Onboard tools are nice but could use a longer hose. An optional hose kit is available online for about $30.

Not too heavy and pushes and pulls very nice. We have two dogs so it gets used frequently. Really does a nice job picking up the hair and making the carpet look fresh. Only time will tell on how it will hold up but based on the construction, I’m sure it will last much longer than the $300 – $500 residential vacumns we have owned in the past.
