20 Best Thing At Sonic (2022 Updated)

I’ve seen this remaster get a lot of unnecessary criticism, it’s a perfectly fine remaster. However, there is one major problem: it’s Sonic Colors. Of all the games to remaster, they choose one of the most mediocre in the series.

Even it’s DS counterpart (which is completely absent from this supposed “ultimate” version) is a far better game than it. I understand that the point is to give an easy entrance to the series for newcomers, but a clunky, mediocre game that barely plays like the series it’s meant to be a part of like colors would’ve never made me a Sonic fan the way games like Sonic Generations, Unleashed, Adventure, or numerous others would.

Not to mention how redundant it is, considering that the equally mediocre “Sonic Forces” has been available on these same platforms for 4 years. Don’t pick this one up, instead, get Sonic Mania, or the upcoming “Sonic Origins” collection that includes several of the classic Sonic games, or hold out for the next big Sonic game releasing late next year.

but whatever you do, don’t buy Sonic Colors.

Great game. nothing is technically misleading. the keychain and bigger box were launch day exclusives. there’s not a special edition anyone is missing out on. a simple google search would tell you that, as well as reading the description where it never mentions a bigger box or a key chain.

it two extra seconds, people. it’s not the game’s fault for that. yell at walmart. don’t tank a game’s ratings for walmart’s error. anyone who did get it following launch day got leftover stock. sorry guys.

it’s not that deep. it’s a 10¢ keychain that your kid will not miss unless they’re a diehard sonic fan and, if they were, you’d find one of the hundreds of ones for sale on ebay for them.

I bought this for my 7 year old who recently discovered the sonic movies. It seems to be full of glitches and she cannot get past level 2, the game has “tips” that help you learn different moves but what the tips advise doesn’t always work (like the double jump spot in Act 2).

A google search revealed many other people complaining about the same thing dating back at least a year. Really disappointing that these issues have not been patched and the game is still being sold.

The kids are not going to enjoy this game if glitches make it near impossible to complete level 2.

Sonic Mania is the culmination of a huge amount of work, from people peerlessly passionate about Sonic’s 2D games. Sega took a risk allowing outsiders to take the reins of their defining characteristics and it’s resulted in the best Sonic game in decades.

It’s not perfect – there are occasional glitches, some people might find the crushing deaths and general difficulty of later levels a little off-putting – but as after being disappointed with many of Sega’s past attempts at following up Sonic’s early success, Mania did what I had almost given up hope on being possible.

Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games have proven they absolutely understand what made Sonic great in the Mega Drive days and have modernised this essence for a modern audience with a follow-up worthy of standing with the best in the series.

This is the best Sonic game in years. I haven’t had this much fun playing Sonic The Hedgehog since the Dreamcast days. And it’s easily the best 2D so nice since Sonic CD. Brilliant level design. Super fast.

Great music. Everything about this is old-school Sonic quality. It’s truly a blast (no pun intended). Welcome back , Sonic and Tails… We’ve missed you. Highly recommended.

This game is true sonic nostalgia. From the unforgettable “Saaaay-Gaaaah” intro and all the familiar sound effects, just audio alone brings me back to being a teenager firing up my Genesis console for the first time.

This is exactly like playing a 16 bit Sonic game. Everything i remember about that era of gaming is here. Even the special stages are here. If you’ve ever wanted to step back in time this is the game for you.

Sonic Lost World (3DS) Sonic Lost World had always intrigued me. The idea of playing an awesome, 3D Sonic game of the 3DS was a new concept at the time, and as it stands it’s the only 3D Sonic game on the 3DS.

And once I got the spare money, I was going to purchase it immediately, which I did. I really, really, and I mean REALLY wanted to like Sonic Lost World, but the game is flawed in many ways. First, there is absolutely no way to tell where you’re supposed to go.

I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve gotten lost in this game, let alone do I want to. The levels give you absolutely no clues on where to go next, or what you’re supposed to do. Second, the game is just really generic.

Like, New Super Mario Bros. level of generic. The game is spread out into multiple worlds, and it follows almost the exact same format at the NSMB Series. Grass, Desert, Water, Ice, and so on. It all just feels so lazily slapped together, almost as if the devs didn’t care about it.

I must say though, if there is one this game nails, it’s the controls. For the first time in forever, Sonic has a run button. Shocking, I know. You press the R button to run, and it’s a really good way to control your speed, especially in slower platforming sections.

You also have easy access to the spin-dash which is surprisingly powerful. Sonic comes equipped with some new moves as well. Sonic can now run on walls, and it is a little underwhelming. It mostly just used as a gimmick in levels, and it makes them surprisingly easy to just skip big sections, eliminating all sense of difficulty.

But the music in this game. Oh boy, the music. This game keeps up the tradition of, “If the game is bad, the soundtrack is probably amazing. ” Overall I was definitely disappointed with Sonic Lost World, but it is still possible to have a sliver of fun.

Sonic Lost World might just be the most unusual Sonic game I’ve ever played. To get started: this game is MILES better than Sonic ’06 or Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (those games are just. ugh. ) Also, I haven’t beaten this game yet.

When I do, I will update this review, if possible. Anyway, the thing that kind of upsets me about this game is just how dull the Deadly Six are; they’re like your typical stereotyped villains. Plus, they’re not very interesting.

Furthermore, the story is rather mundane; for example, Eggman has a conch that controls the Deadly Six; it’s NEVER explained how Eggman got it, or how he knew about the Deadly Six at all. The story could have been written a bit better to more easily explain how certain events happened.

Another thing that bothers me is that this story is supposed to be canon; it happens after Sonic Generations. Yet, they’re a few nuances that aren’t explained such as Eggman’s escape from the allegedly inescapable White World (spoilers) Gameplay wise, it’s okay for the most part.

However, Sonic feels like a snail. Wasn’t Sonic’s whole gimmick about speed? I find it a bit dumb to be constantly holding the ZR button to keep Sonic running and even then, he still feels a bit sluggish.

I DO like the emphasis on better control, however. But I still think that Sonic Team didn’t have to neuter his speed; Sonic was no doubt at his fastest in Sonic Unleashed. (the HD version anyway. ) Next are the Wisps.

Being a fan of Sonic Colors, I was excited to see Wisps return. However, some were implemented poorly. The control for the Eagle Wisp is just garbage and the Bomb Wisp makes no sense. Otherwise, the rest are okay to me.

In terms of graphics, the game looks great! Very vibrant, colors pop and it’s just eye candy. The soundtrack is also pretty sweet too, although the Deadly Six boss music can get a bit monotonous. All in all, the game is simply okay so far.

In terms of Sonic games on the Wii U, this is the best main series game to get. It’s worth checking out. Not the 3DS version though, in my opinion.

Sonic the Hedgehog goes Super Mario Galaxy and he does it good. I mean really, there is nothing wrong with copying a great game as long as it haves its own elements and and that it all works togheter and that is what Sonic Lost World is doing.

Deadly Six Edition is also a very fine value with extra DLC already on the disc and I’m very glad I could get a copy of this verison of the game. I was just out for a copy of the game but when I could get the limited edition for just a few bucks extra I said “sure I take it!” The Wii U recieves sadly little love overall and even if it is Nintendo’s less sold home console ever it still don’t mean it is a bad console because it is not.

The Wii U is a great console IMO and I will stick to that. Ir haves enought good to great games to makle it worth having for any person.

Got these for my little cousins birthday because he is all about sonic. Very, very, very pleased with them. They are just the right size of toy he likes to play with, they looked fantastic just like the characters, not cheap knockoffs at all like I had seen in others.

Love that the figures are bendable and seem sturdy for a kid to just play with, but they look like they would make great collectables. Also I did not know this when I bought them but the jerseys can be taken off! That was the only thing I was iffy on b/c I wasn’t sure if he would like them with the jerseys but turns out they are removable so that wasn’t even an issue.

And they were only like $10 you can’t beat that for the quality I found in these. I purchased a sonic, tails, shadow, and a knuckles. Jersey, ball, and all. Very great find for any kid or enthusiast that loves sonic.

Definitely recommend.

This bad review is no reflection on Smyths Toys whatsoever. Tails’ tail come straight off when removing out of the packaging. The tail is too big and heavy to be attached by just a thin piece of plastic.

In fairness to Smyths they took the item on a postal return and refunded the cost.

The only complaint about the figure itself is compared to the original Metal Sonic fig from Jazwares is the paint not being as metalic looking, but asides from that it has some decent movable limbs and such.

A nice alternative!.

This is a fun live action family movie. I enjoyed this movie better than the first one and Jim Carrey is even better in this compared to the first. Overall, for a video game themed movie, it has natural images and the landscapes are gorgeous.

Dolby Vision makes this a very nice transfer. The Dolby Atmos audio mix also makes this a wonderful listening experience. For picture quality, I’ll give this an A. Audio mix scores an A as well.

The Sonic movies are very well done and worth the purchase in my opinion. My family loves them and we have watched them multiple times. I am kind of old school so I like to have hard copies of things.

Getting the Digital to go with the disc was a nice bonus.

This proved to have so much fun and heart. I payed the video games since I was kid and I truly believe this was a special treat. Plus seeing Sonic and Tails together makes this as one of my favorites.

The product that scanned was different than the product that I’m reviewing. I’m doing a review on Sonic Ocean Water zero sugar drink mix. It doesn’t taste the same as what you get at Sonic but these are zero calories.

You can taste the artificial sweetener. I will get used to it but it’s a little harsh in the beginning. They also come in cherry limeade and strawberry lemonade.

Was alittle scared to try this as you never know how something will actually taste in a water flavor versus the real thing. Ocean water is one of my favorite things to drink when I go to sonic. I tried this and I absolutely loved it.

Even though the lime is alittle strong in it, it really does taste like the real thing and it’s good! I recommend this.

When I get an Ocean Water from Sonic, It’s Blue Raspberry Coconut Sprite. This packet is not the worst water flavor packet I’ve ever tried, but it does NOT taste like Ocean Water. It tastes like a Limeade (HEAVY on the lime flavor).

They need to reformulate this because they could definitely have something good with this!! But as of now, won’t buy again.

Time for an uncomfortable conversation/semi-rant. Ive been on a Sonic kick recently. In the last six months, Ive played Sonic Riders (briefly), Sonic heroes, Sonic and the Secret Rings (quite unpleasant), Sonic Generations, Sonic Colors and Sonic Adventure 1 & 2.

They all have their charm and a good deal of what I refer to as Sonic jank, but I knew, deep in my heart, that one day I would have to face it. The Sonic game that everyone maligns as unplayably bad and the worst of all time: Sonic the Hedgehog for 360, aka Sonic 06.

Well, Im watching credits roll on the final chapter/true ending, and this game was great. Its huge, its beautiful, it has 9 fun, functional, playable characters and really only Sonic suffers from noticeable bugginess here and there (and even then it was no worse than usual).

The story was great, levels were (mostly) great, music was great (as always). So what Im saying is, forget City Escape or Live and Learn, forget Final Chaos and Open Your Heart. When you take these games on their merit alone (here it comes), Sonic 06 is the best Sonic Adventure game of them all.

Idk how this game got so much hate, but its great, and if youre a Sonic fan and youve never played it, you are missing out.

Sonic The Hedgehog is often mocked today for a recent streak of low quality titles. However there was once a time when Sonic was on top of the video game market, acting as the mascot for SEGA, who was soon to overturn Nintendo’s monopoly on the market.

This game is the beginning of Sonic as a series and the beginning of the rise of SEGA. The Genesis, if you will. History lessons aside, Sonic 1 is an overall good game for its time. Unfortunately it does have some glaring flaws when looking back on the game today.

A lot of the levels in Sonic 1 were designed more with a Super Mario type of mindset, if that makes sense. It kicks off with Green Hill Zone. A long wide area for you to really get a grasp on and witness the full capabilities of Sonic’s entire schtick.

Momentum. Green Hill Zone is the perfect showcase of exactly what a Sonic level should be. Achieving speed through quick reactions, and some quick platforming. Unfortunately jmmediately after Green Hill Zone, the game stops following that core design.

The game’s second set of levels is a lot more methodical. Lots of precision platforming, but done with a character that doesn’t mesh well with that design. It’s the Super Mario approach I mentioned earlier.

Where Mario’s movement is a lot more precise, Sonic’s slow start and whole momentum thing makes him feel almost slippery in precision platforming situations. Unfortunately, this sentiment doesn’t exist only for Marble Zone.

The 3rd 4th and final level all have more methodical platforming as well. Spring Yard Zone, the third level, does have some speed sections thanks to the many springs in the level, as the name would imply, however there’s also an abundance of spike hazards meaning you’d likely not want to go so fast and stay careful.

The unfortunate part of this is that the unique(for the time) momentum mechanic and the level design are almost always at odds with each other. It really does show that this was the first Sonic game.

It’s successors would figure out a better balance between platforming and quick reactions, but as of now, Sonic 1 serves as more of a time capsule of sorts. A window into 1991 and a way to experience the first of a long line of games.

While I myself, being the collector I am, would recommend you play on original hardware, I’d say the easiest to digest experience is the Christian Whitehead mobile phone port. It adds in the spindash, a move from the game’s sequel and subsequent titles making for a much nicer experience and is also in widescreen meaning it’s easier to see what’s coming before it’s right up on you, eliminating a lot of the trial and error elements.

It also includes some bug fixes and retains the removal of the infamous spike behavior from the Sonic Jam version on the Sega Saturn.

What can I say about this game without beating a dead horse? This was suppose to be Sonics big comeback game after some recent struggles, instead it only made him fall deeper into video game purgatory.

The loading times are absurd, all the characters except maybe Sonic flat out suck, it’s glitched up the you know what, the hub world is boring, the graphics that aren’t full-CGI cutscenes aren’t very good even for 2006 standards, story is laughably awful, and it’s because of “that scene” and the events leading up to it, is what almost made me give-up on Sonic for good.

Overall the game is a broken mess, it could’ve been good had they pushed the release date back in order to fix the problems, and hopefully scrap the story entirely. ok that last part might’ve been wishful thinking.

However in its defense for how bad this game is, it still isn’t the worst game ever,or worst sonic game for that matter. Definitely better than Bubsy 3D and Superman 64, but thats still not saying much.

The only few positives I can think for this game is it’s awesome soundtrack and there’s still some enjoyment that can be squeezed out of Sonics levels,although he runs much slower than in previous installments that isn’t ‘Sonic Labyrinth’ , and the speed sections at the end of some of his levels are as broken as the rest of the game, still there are much better options out there if you’re looking for a good 3D Sonic experience.

Do not buy this game unless you’re either a huge Sonic fan and need it to complete your personal collection, or you’re extremely curious and want to get a good laugh at how much of a mess the game truly is.

Yuuuuum. These are so freaking yummy! You just mix one in a bottle or glass of water. Then you have some great tasting water and are getting some hydration! These are awesome for people like me who struggles to drink water!.

Odds are, if you’re looking at an auction for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, you already know what a spectacular game it is. The masterminds of the Genesis era at Sega truly outdid themselves with the inner workings of this game.

The third of four classic installments, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 brings back all the fun of its predecessors while offering a new save feature for those players who can’t sit in front of their television to play this in one go.

The game itself takes that lovable hedgehog Sonic through some very elaborate and well-designed stages that incorporate more of a 3D feel in a 2D game. Doctor Robotnik is up to his old tricks again, and it’s up to Sonic to save the day once more.

The best thing about this game and the Sega Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog series [Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles) in general would have to be the replay value it holds; very few games retain such timeless quality.

What’s even better: the final installment interacts with both 2 and 3 to create even more replay value in the form of two “bonus” games! I decided to buy this game to replace the original which was stolen away from me long ago.

Nostalgia played a large part in my purchase, but I know I won’t be disappointed!.

Between being a part of Sonic’s 2D glory days and being compatible with Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3 is a retro blast that screams quality. For the first time ever, play independently as Tails! More power-ups than ever before! If you love classic Sonic games, 3 is a must.

It was the by far the best Sonic game I’ve ever played! It takes everything good from Sonic and not only builds on that but also emphasizes all the good things about it! It is an absolute must have for any Sonic fan!.

Ahhhh the smell of nostalgia!!! Plays even better than the original. Cheap price. But no hard copy. Download was a breeze.

This review is belated because Covid kept my son away. it’s what he grew up with and I wanted to surprise him. Finally got it hooked up this weekend, and It worked perfectly. I expected the original Sega Genesis, and that is what I got.

Very happy with it.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a terrific example of what a video game sequel should be. Sonic 2 takes a successful formula executed so well in 1991’s original “Sonic the Hedgehog” for the Sega Genesis, and expands on the concept with improved gameplay, dazzling graphics, superb music and bigger, better levels that raised the bar for future platformer games in the 1990’s.

While 1994’s “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” again took the franchise to a whole new level, there are very few faults in Sonic 2. The game does lack a save system and gamers may encounter an occasional glitch, but this was the norm for most cartridge games released at the time.

But even then, the positives overwhelmingly outweigh the negatives and there aren’t any glaring problems that would discourage gamers. Sonic 2 also enjoys substantially improved replay value over the original 1991 game with the introduction of Sonic’s sidekick Tails, as well as Sonic’s quest for the chaos emeralds now offering gamers the chance to play as “Super Sonic.

” Sonic 2 also boasts a split-screen two player mode where gamers can race through levels against their friends Overall, this is one of the best games ever released on the Sega Genesis and one of my favorite video games of all time.

Old-school Sega gamers, and even ardent Nintendo fans still holding out after the console wars, owe it to themselves to give this one a try.

I bought this for my younger son because he kept stealing the one his older brother got for his birthday. The first one I bought in store and it has legit Sonic the hedgehog tags attached to it. This one does not.

It is not the genuine article. It looks pretty similar, but not similar enough. The boys know the difference and they still fight over the original. Oh, and it came wrapped extremely tightly in plastic and stunk like chemicals when opened.

This Item is quite misleading since the photo for it is a Jakks Pacific Classic Knuckles Plush, The plush i got is made from different materials like in the shoes, gloves and nose. And does not have the sonic the hedgehog tag, It has a bigger head than the original but looks quite similar.

I don’t hate the plush i received but i just feel i little mislead.

This Super Sonic is perfect for the little Sonic the Hedgehog fan. Looks cute, small. Material feels like polyester. We’ve had it for over a week, my grandson plays with it everyday and it’s still holding on great.

I would recommend this. I grabbed for an awesome price. Worth every penny.

This game is amazing. The last time I fully enjoyed a Sonic game, and it felt like a AAA title, was 2000s Sonic Adventure 2. This games soundtrack, graphics, detail, replayablity, story, everything is top notch.

The most important part of the game: The gameplay, is fantastic. High speed frantic action as sonic in the day and Beat em up exploration as the Werehog at night. Even with the newer Sonic games out this is still the fastest most fluid and open boost Sonic game to date.

(The speed can be a bit jarring at first) Most importantly, it does not hold your hand like the newer games. Instead of just holding boost to win, you must quick jump, wall jump, slide, quick step, drift (which handled to my surprise, very realistically.

Similar to a car. ) kick, ground pound, explore, grind, platform in 3D, do a three to five button quick time event. You are always doing something. The Werehog has exploration and satisfying / fluid combat with overwhelming amounts of enemies on screen with an RPG leveling system and 40+ different combos to unlock.

Almost forgot to mention the beautiful hub worlds. Hub worlds are these small areas for you to free roam in based on different parts of the planet. (Spain, Greece, China, Alaska, America, Arabia, etc) You can also talk to different kinds of people, discover side missions (and acts 2 and 3 for Sonic / Survival and timed modes for Werehog) even go shopping for collectables and foods (that grant you XP) My only complaint is the final level and Boss.

They are not as fluid, polished or fun as the rest of the game. The pre-final boss: EggDragoon is infinitely more impressive and “epic” than the load fest they call, Dark Gaia. Do not listen to “professional” critics or the Internet, try this game for yourself if interested.

Anyone, not just fans of the series, can play this and have a great time. this isn’t your typical 2 hour long modern Sonic game, try 20 hours.

Sonic Unleashed is looked upon as one of the lesser titles in its franchise. When this game was released, it didn’t necessarily receive that much positive remark from both critics and fans (at least the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions).

For some strange reason, the Wii and PS2 versions of this game are looked upon as superior than the former versions. Why? The levels are a bit bland in the low-res versions, there are many more Werehog stages than Hedgehog stages, and you have to play the same levels over and over with new objectives just to complete the story.

Thankfully, none of this is present in the hi-def versions of the game. High-speed action is what Sonic does best, and there’s tons of that here in his Day stages. Levels such as Empire City and Cool Edge are perfect examples of just what a Sonic game can bring with fantastic level design, alternate pathways, shortcuts, and just pure spectacle and magic all around that Sonic is known for.

And then comes what makes this game sort of a black sheep, the Werehog. I will say this right now, IT IS NOT BAD. THE WEREHOG IS NOT. BAD. I legitimately like the Werehog as it provides a change of pace from the crazy high speeds of Sonic and not to mention some sweet jazzy tunes~.

There’s some pretty good level design for a slow-paced platformer and tons of goodies and secrets to find now that you can take your time with these levels. The only gripe I have with them is the battle music playing over and over, but as I take my time and explore these levels for hidden secrets, they never really bothered me all that much as I was having too much fun! All and all, Sonic Unleashed is a pretty solid experience and extremely underrated and overlooked by its future brethren.

It provides a nice amount of challenge that a lot of Sonic games lack in comparison. If you like running at blistering speeds and/or a beat-em-up puzzle-solving type of gameplay, then Sonic Unleashed is definitely what you’re looking for.

I highly recommend picking this game up if you come across it, especially so with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

This sonic game was your typical 3D sonic experience, but the developers later decided the game was too short, so they decided to add were-hog stages. Ag the beginning robotnik converts sonic into a werehog.

After that, you play as normal sonic during the day and as a were-hog in the night. The day stages are your typical run-to-the end stages, where you run all around. This is where the game shines. In the night, however, the game becomes a slow 3D beat-em’-up similar to god of war, but not as epic.

These stages make the majority of the game and slow it down by a lot. Still, this is among the good sonic games, and worth checking out!.

Sonic 2 is a worthy sequel to its masterpiece first game. Both are actually very good and are must have for sega owners. This game is faced paced, has excellent side scrolling gameplay and music. The graphics are superb and is basically the mario of sega.

This game added tails to the game to be sonics sidekick in the game which allows for two people to play.

Although it’s been rereleased several times, it’s hard to beat the Genesis experience, especially given the original cartridge is still cheap and affordable.

For kart racing fans who have played Mario Kart 8’s courses to death and need something new and fresh, Team Sonic Racing comes along to satisfy your pallette. Before you think it unfair to compare TSR to MK8, the makers of this game make little effort to hide that Mario Kart is exactly what they are aiming for.

Just look at the items in this game (called wisps). 80% of them are borrowed from MK. Missiles that bounce off walls (green shells), crimson eagle that chases opponents (red shell), boost (mushroom), cube (fake item box/banana), rhythm (blooper), drill (bullet bill), bomb (bob omb), ghost & lightning.

Quake is like blue shell but way better since you actually have a chance of dodging the pillars. A lot of the courses look like combinations of MK levels. There is a haunted house/sand level and a volcano level with a molten monster that looks suspiciously like the one in Bowser’s castle.

The good news is the courses look gorgeous and are a blast to play. The controls are silky smooth and there is even a second control option for MK veterans (x on PS4 to accelerate, r2 to drift, l2 to use items).

They really nailed the feel of the drifting! This is probably the first non-MK racer that got the drifting perfect. It’s better than the last Sonic Racing Game. I watched footage of the upcoming Crash Team Racing remake and it looks jerky af.

This is smooth turning around all the corners. The bad news is the roster dropped all those cool and random characters from the last game and the tracks are a bit less fun and creative than those in Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, where they had the whole SEGA catalog to pull ideas from.

While Nintendo expanded MK8 to include Zelda, F-Zero, Splatoon, Animal Crossing and others, Team Sonic goes the opposite direction and just focused Sonic franchise characters, half of which are obscure even to fans (Zavok anyone?).

I’d give this a 3 and a half star if it was an option. I’m a huge fan of Sega racing games, always have been, always will be. The Sonic Racing series that really took flight with Sonic and All-Star Racing Transformed is still one of the very best kart racing games I’ve ever played.

I mean it when I say it can easily be seated against any Mario Kart game or even Crash Team Racing, it’s that good. So my hopes were pretty high for this. Unfortunately they went with this gimmick of you having a trio of characters to racing around with, think Sonic Heroes in cars.

It’s weird to get used to at first since the place of each person on your team will tally your total score at the end of the race. Naturally you all work together but this would have been far better as a mode of play rather than the entire experience as a whole.

I don’t mind trying new things with any genre to mix it up and push the envelope but it took away from the basic aspects of what made the previous two entries so special. There was also a lack of other Sega properties since this was solely a Sonic racing game this time around which naturally bummed me out but what can you do? Hopefully down the road we get a sequel to Transformed.

Team Sonic Racing is one of those rare Mario Kart clones that is exiting enough in its own right to be fun, addictive and worth playing. The game consists of 15 racers, 21 tracks, an Adventure Mode and classic modes like Grand Prix, Time Trial and Exhibition.

Some levels are returning from previous Sonic racers, but most are new and fresh. The main draw here is with its exclusive 3-person team system, which forces you to work together with AI teammates to share items, gain boosts and bounce off each other to gain the upper hand in a race.

By performing enough of these coop moves, your team will eventually earn a significant speed boost, which could drastically change the outcome of a race if used at the right times. The main mode, ‘Adventure’, places you in a bit-sized map with a Mario-style level structure, where each stage represents a new race.

Each level gives players the opportunity to earn up to 3 stars (bronze, silver and gold), which should give the game some replay value in the long run. Each track is designed with upmost care, boasting an enormous amount of color and vibrant texture work that gives you that feeling of quality, with tight controls and a good sense of speed.

The game isn’t without its fair share of problems, though. First of all, many stages are locked behind Adventure mode progress, so don’t expect to fire up the game and choose whatever stage and character you want right away, because you can’t.

The next issue worth mentioning is in regards to the tone of the game. For years, Sonic games have been catering to little kids, and the series never matured enough to remove the utter cringe from its voice acting and soundtrack, and this game is no different.

Luckily, most of the music is well orchestrated and catchy, but the voice acting and a couple songs that contain lyrics can be pretty awful, so expect to be tempted to skip the ‘cut-scenes’ that occur between Adventure levels and plug your ears when necessary.

Overall, I would recommend Team Sonic Racing as a worthy Mario Kart alternative. The power-ups aren’t too exciting and the voice acting is pretty bad, but the gameplay, level design and fun factor are all high enough quality to warrant a purchase.

I got this figure a day ago and I really like it since it was the last one in stock. It has some pretty good articulation and the joints aren’t as tight as the super shadow figure, overall good figure to get because it’s nice to have it on a shelf.

It legit tastes like the Ocean Water from Sonic… without the carbonation. Energy keeps you good for a while without the nasty crashes a few hours later. Can’t wait to try the Cherry Limeade one.

As for as Best buy service, ordered this game online, it came 2 days earlier than promised, so kudos to bestbuy. com service and all involved in that. For the game itself, very solid cartoony racing game.

I would say this gameplay is a mix of Mario Kart and F-zero for the gamecube. , a great alternative to mario kart. Single player isn’t to focused where they give you missions and you complete mission for each track.

The characters do get dialogue which is a nice tough, sonic sure likes to talk trash in this game. They added a team mode, with teams of 3. , the whole team who finishes, on average, a higher placing rank, wins.

It can get pretty interesting and fun if you can find multiple people to play with, because you can share items and boosts with teammates. But if not, you’ll get the AI. As far as online play, I wish it was better.

Finding servers takes a while and lobbies are rarely full. The max of players I found in a match was 4, lobbies can go up to 12, iirc. I wish online mode is improved can I can see the fun with stable servers and will give the game lasting ability.

Still a good quality game maybe get it on sale i would recommend on ps4 or xbox, switch has Mario Kart already which is superior still and runs on lower framerate. more people need to get online.

Once again Nintendo ventures boldly out into the world of Olympics,this time their take is on the 2008 Winter games held in Vancouver. A slickly made game play and enhanced graphics make this a joy to behold, for young or old,it’s streets ahead of the earlier offering with a finely honed simplistic play, but still a total blast! The controls have been tightened up,tweaked and refined nicely.

to almost near perfection, utilizing the full motion detection playability of the Wii’s system Gone the somewhat occasional frustrating mechanics and replaced by a smoother more fluid feeling, add this to the experience and it makes this one of the best Olympic based games on any platform.

Far less punishing and very much more forgiving than the previous instalment, it is indeed a joy to play through; a thankfully more sympathetic approach to the trail and error mechanic of its older sibling.

Sound design is dynamic and done exceptionally well and character models all look particularly sharp and clean for the most part , given limits the systems graphical processor can handle. A few textures look a little rough and jagged but this is acceptable enough for the Wii.

The colour palate is vibrant and bright giving that rich high contrasted arcade appeal, it’s pleasing to see,enthralling eye candy; weather for nostalgic casual gamers or modern more harder core platform players.

If you have a Wii and some friends around, you really owe it to yourself to give this one a definite spin on the system. In my opinion, from experience, a must to get is a composite cable and junk the standard boxed component one.

not true High Definition, but for the Wii’s capabilities its rendered at an enhanced 720 dpi and will give you the best visual and audio presentation from what this game has to offer. Verdict. Nintendo really nails the Olympic experience in its own glorious lush way;with colourful characters and great physics and a well produced audio design to boot.

If you want a family game that’s hugely enjoyable for just about anyone. this is a sure fire resounding hit. And always remember it’s full of all of SEGA’s best loved icons like Mario,Shadow and my favourite, Sonic ,that just seals the deal ! Overall,a fantastic looking and super enjoyable game that’s just bags of fun.

I bought this when it was first released in 2010! We loved it so much and it got scratched over the years so badly it was no longer able to be read in my machine and now with isolation everyone seems to be in bidding wars to buy it.

I only need the disc and so I had the bright idea to just buy one. No bidding just buy now and I have it. Already played it and it is as good as I remember! Free postage and it was delivered on the day it was said.
