20 Best Throttle Control Module (2022 Updated)

I was looking for more HP when pulling my RV. I got just that and a pleasant surprise as well. After unhooking my Rv I needed to go after some other thing that I could not haul at the same time. I turned the dial all the way down.

Was a flat terrain. I went from 14 and 15 miles to a gallon to 18 to 20 miles to a gallon. It Was only 50 miles but I was speechless. Now when I got to hills it did alter a little but all in all this was a perfect addition to my ram 1500.

If you live in a hilly area this is probably not for you on gas mileage but it will amp up your ride on those hills. Night and day pulling the Rv. Excellent item. Definitely recommend. I do not have pictures as it was an under the dash mount but it took about 30 minutes start to finish.

Easy plug and play. Just have to find somewhere to mount.

It does exactly what it says it does. Makes a big difference in acceleration. Can go from mild to wild. Only thing I will suggest is if you have the 2. 7 turbo. DO NOT turn up all the way. Just go 3/4 if you turn knob all the way it will go into limp mode! If it does turn Ingnition off and restart and your fine.

Check engine light will be on. But I have the software to reset. Just go 3/4 and you’ll be fine. Love it!.

I just installed this unit, a Roush Cold air intake and AirRaid spacer on my 2018 5. 0L F-150. Let me say I usually never write reviews, but she went from being a fast truck, to acting like a hot rod, worth every penny and so easy to install.

couldnt be happier. I can feel all 400 horses all through out her power band now, its the way Ford should have built it. This little device woke her up.

installed in my truck. super easy install just make sure the tabs are lifted or the connector will not connect. initially it worked exactly as advertised i loved the almost instant throttle response and found driving much better at its max.

on the third day of usage i had a major failure in the truck. I was attempting a quick start off the line but when i put my foot in it so to speak my dash lit up like a christmas tree and the truck went into low power mode (limp mode).

i needed to pop the negative cable off the battery and uninstall the throttle module to get the codes to clear. just as easy to take out as putting in I can’t recommend installing this product in a 2020 G.

M. 5. 3L summit was great to deal with.

Pretty simple install. Definitely saw a difference right away and it’s only about half way turned up. Shifts very smooth and even though it doesn’t add any horses it forsure feels like it does.

This small but easy device made a night and day difference in how my truck responds during daily driving. Banks has really thought of many driver friendly features in this such as the reverse feature that shuts off the module to the many levels of adjustment in the modes.

I drive around in the Sport mode on level 5 or 6. This gives me the ability to pass easily on the highway and retain neighborhood smoothness. Very easy to install and I use my phone to adjust the settings if I want to.

But once the setting are adjusted the phone is not needed to have the system work. I have a device that electronically makes my truck run in V8 mode plugged into my OBD port so I had to use a splitter to run these two items together.

I have had zero issues with these items. I would highly recommend this for the driver that is wanting to add throttle response with having to modify your factory computer or do engine modifications. Fuel economy so far has been the same when I am driving.

I will see as time goes on with overall fuel economy.

I bought Pedal Monster #64321 to supplement the Derringer/IDash combination on my son’s 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. Less than 30 minutes for installation. Using the SIM card to update the iDash took less time than installation.

As you have seen on YouTube and BanksPower, just the Derringer makes the L5P really come alive. But when you add the Pedal Monster to the Derringer mix it is simply astounding how the performance improves.

You just shake your head every time you accelerate your almost 6,000# sport truck away from a stop sign or traffic light. No smoke, no drama, just unbelievable acceleration from 3 tons of vehicle. Still no smoke with the accelerator pedal on the floor.

Still emissions legal. The first sensation of speed you have is when the ECM pulls power to keep you below the limit speed for the OEM tires. Then you look down to see almost 100 mph on the speedometer.

Colorful unprintable words fly out of your mouth as you begin to laugh and shake your head. It is interesting to view Youtube videos where individuals have spent thousands of dollars gutting their new trucks to make them faster.

Then they encounter a truck equipped with a Derringer or Pedal Monster or both. They just see the tail lights of the Banks equipped truck getting farther in front of them, over and over and over. Another superlative product from Banks.

Gale Banks has some smart car and truck geeks locked in their labs in Azusa. They really make good stuff. All made in the USA. The Derringer or Pedal Monster is the most cost effective performance item you can add to your truck.

They are that good!.

I am a bit disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, this is a well built product, nicely packaged and the app works well. But it didn’t solve the issue I hoped it would – my 2018 GMC Duramax lugs around 1200-1250 RPM.

I was hoping that PedalMonster would remove this annoyance but it doesn’t. Regardless of the mode I select, the engine still lugs at that RPM range. Yes, there’s more throttle response, but it still lugs if you are driving around 1200 RPM.

I also noticed a drop in fuel economy and it also prevents GMC from getting the car diagnostic info via OnStar (the message from GMC indicates that the inability to retrieve the diagnostic data may be from an ‘aftermarket device plugged into the OBD port’).

For these reasons I am removing PedalMonster from my vehicle.

I literally cannot tell a difference in response. It was easy to install but to much of a pain in the rear for literally nothing at way to high of a price. I highly DO NOT recommend this product even if it says KandN.

Not worth the money or the wait. Im very bummed about it.

I did some online comparisons of the different products available that claim to be able to do what the Pedal Commander advertises it can do. All these products had different prices, guarantee periods and program modes.

I settled on the Pedal Commander as I felt that it was the product most suited for my vehicle and it seemed that a lot of very reputable companies were using and by doing so were actually endorsing the product.

I had the Pedal Commander installed in no time at all, as advertised the connectors are just like OEM connectors, nice tight connections with an audible click when they were properly seated. A couple of supplied zip ties completed the installation.

The length of cable from the accelerator connections to the control unit that is provided with the unit allows multiple choices of positioning the control unit for easy access to allow changes from one type of driving mode to the next.

As far as what the Pedal commander does, it does it very well. You aren’t going to pickup any speed but it sure feels like you do! I was very impressed when I first drove my truck after the unit was installed, it felt like I was back to driving a cable linkage as opposed to an electric, cable free setup.

All the delay and sloppiness was gone, when when you pressed the accelerator pedal things happened right away. It was very impressive in how my truck reacted with the Pedal Commander installed. I have always been skeptical to a certain degree with products that boasted of significant and noticeable changes, easy simple installation and easy to use claims.

Well, Pedal Commander delivered and backed up everything that they claimed right out of the box with one exception, I would like to see the ‘ten minute installation time’ changed to five minutes as that’s all it takes! I would recommend the Pedal Commander to anyone.

If you’re still undecided or wavering about buying one, purchase and install one and then try to understand why you didn’t do it sooner!.

As the son of an auto mechanic, I have been modifying cars for 30 years. From 60’s Corvette’s, to jacked up Wranglers, to my latest passion. all things Porsche, I have never had a car that I can enjoy without tinkering with something.

My most recent add to the fleet was a barely used 2017 Porsche Macan GTS. With ~365HP from a twin turbo V6 and the PDK transmission, I thought it was nearly perfect as-is. But I did struggle with some lag on initial throttle input and assumed this was just something I’d have to live with.

Until one day I read on a Macan forum that EVERYONE was putting in a Pedal Commander. After installing (which took me about 30 minutes from start to finish with nearly all of the time spent removing/reinstalling the gas pedal assembly bolt) I can honestly say, it is the BEST $300 I have EVER spent on a mod/part.

It has completely transformed the car and taken it to the next level. The ability to completely dial in the throttle input perfectly is a game changer. Finding the right combination of the car’s native modes (Sport, Sport+, etc.

) in concert with the Pedal Commander’s modes is addictive and upon finding the sweet spot, exhilarating. In ~ 3 hours of seat time, I’ve determined that the best combination for every day driving (for me) is car in Sport Mode and Pedal Commander in City with the +2 adder.

This seems to keep the revs in the right range and the pedal response in the optimum mode for around town mostly spirited driving. Of course, when I get out to the open rural roads, I’ll dial it up to full on Sport +, Sport + which takes the car to a whole other level.

(The app works great BTW. I keep the Pedal Commander itself tucked up under the dash for a clean install and adjust everything via the app as my phone is always nearby). Trust me, if you’re considering buying this for a Macan S/GTS you cannot go wrong.

For other cars, if the experience is similar you won’t be disappointed. I typically never right reviews, but this is one of the best mods I’ve ever done and for such little money, the value is unquestionable.

First and foremost, I believe Toyota is right in making the default response and acceleration input for modern 4Runners require so much travel in the pedal in order to gain acceleration. From my point of view, this is because this is what you would want if going off road.

, which this vehicle’s main mission is for. You need to be very precise in throttle management in those conditions. , and having a jumpy gas pedal could put you into a tree or rock That being said, most 4Runners spend most of their time on civilian roads, this delayed input is not optimal for standard road driving.

I read and watched many reviews around the pedal commander product. all said the same thing, “This is what the 4runner should have been like from the factory”. I was very skeptical of this actually doing anything, but I was wrong.

Installation, couldn’t be simpler. No tools required. Anyone could install this. Takes less than 5 minutes to get ‘connected’. The pedal box has 2 wires coming out of it, one is female and one is male connector types.

You can’t install this incorrectly. Downloading the app is simple and very straightforward in setup. Using the app is also very straightforward. Come to a stop, select the level of drive that you want and fine tune as needed (using the + and – buttons) then give it some gas.

The experience is in fact a day and night comparison against stock. Personally, I find the City Level 2 and 3 to be the sweet spot for this specific vehicle. While sport and plus mode are definitely much much more responsive, I feel the City Lv.

2 and 3 fits the vehicle’s driving dynamics the best. Using the gas off of a complete stop is even more effortless and just as smooth. There are no issues observed with the transmission losing any of its smoothness during normal gas acceleration either.

potentially (when just cruising) the shifts are seeming to be more optimized and even smoother. Downshifts are quick and responsive where you would want them, but not jolty. Driving down the highway is even easier than stock when getting up to speed, maintaining speed, and when needing to gain speed for passing someone without having to over-exert the acceleration.

Important note – I have not encountered any error lights when installing or using this product to date. This is fantastic news for any aftermarket product being placed onto a vehicle that interacts with the electronics and signals that the onboard ECM uses.

Overall, this is completely 100% worth the money. If you have a 4Runner and don’t get this product. you’re missing out on experiencing a side of your vehicle that makes you enjoy it even more. This product, in my view, helps to showcase some of the 4Runners best qualities by enabling it to be a better city / highway vehicle through refining the acceleration process.

When I go off road, I simply turn it off from my phone and throttle is where it is meant to be for those situations too. This product purchase should be a no brainer decision for anyone even remotely thinking of how to make their 4Runner drive better.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata LX with the 3. 3 V6. It has 56,000 miles on it and is factory stock except for Michelin Pilot Sport all season tires, computer chip, Jet mass air flow sensor and Weapon R air intake system.

These additions vastly increased performance but I needed just a little extra. Was hoping for but not expecting a big increase with the pedal commander due to when you have previous upgrades usually additional upgrading does not give full results that an otherwise stock unadulterated set up will.

Took five to ten minutes to install and route wiring in inconspicuous place, Really simple and easy. Set it on top mode at top adjustment. Even for me it was too herkie jerkie, with massive unstable power.

So went with sport mode and middle adjustment. Very slight difference on take off but when you hit upper low to mid range watch out. I had a 70 lb. Dometic ice box, wife and groceries for an added weight of about 500 pds.

Went to pass three cars catching them at about 45 mph. Was going 100 mph in the short distance to pass. This unit just makes the car scream at about 2000 RPM to Redline. It is a confidence builder when judging if you have enough to pass safely as power just comes on like a power band in a dirt bike for all of those who know that feeling.

I also have racing brakes which is good because I get much more out of the pedal and have to depress it much less. Even at a roll off idle car has more speed. Do not know of lighter adjustments or Eco mode as I will never change the setting due to my style of driving.

What is impressive is that in the top setting at the highest adjustment even I would only use that in a track setting not on public roads. To say that this device even gives more than I would utilize is the strongest endorsement I could make when endorsing any power adder.

To wake up your car and give you everything it is capable of in real time this is it. Anyone can benefit from this addition. Note: watch your RPM gauge because power comes on so quick you redline twice as fast.

This thing is sweet. Even better because I got a awesome open box deal! Took me 7 minutes to install & program! It does not add horse power like a tune can but makes acceleration 1000 times better. The eco mode is great too! I just recommend being up to highway speeds before turning on Eco as it restricts how much your throttle body opens.

2014 Challenger SXT 3. 6 I will update this review in a few weeks when I have had more time to play with this. Day 1: UPS dropped off my Injen right at lunch time. Instructions were not bad, but you would have to figure out what the instructions meant for your car.

It looked like about 45-60 minutes to install. Then I watched the VIDEO on the website. Do your self a favor and just watch the video. It took me 7 minutes and I was done. Granted there are 2 wires I didn’t hook up for reverse and brakes, but I can do that later or never.

You don’t have to connect those. (video explains that) So, the short review is, the throttle on the car is perfect now. The throttle lag is completey gone. I haven’t tested the 0-60 yet but I’m sure it’s a LITTLE better.

But the normal driving is like night and day. The engine responds better, the acceleration is way smoother and much more comfortable. I’m only using sport mode 5 and it’s great. I tried 9 and the rear tires will light up since the lag is gone.

Best $180 I could have spent. Now, I’m thinking of getting the 73mm Throttle Body. The V6 is actually fun again. I have the Sport Mode for my trans and in sport mode, the trans responds faster because the throttle is now correct.

Night and Day difference.

Bro. Let me tell you how awesome and how much of a game changer this is. I installed this on my Jeep and I can actually feel the output change. Quicker acceleration. No soft sponge pedal feel. Quick install and black design makes this thing an easy purchase for me.

A must have in any car you can find it compatible. My brother got one for his charger. Was mind blown.

This is my first experience with a throttle response controller. I have had it installed for about a month. I think my issue may lie with the vehicle itself. I still have a lag from point of peddle acceleration to actual engine acceleration, even in track mode.

This is troublesome especially when in traffic and wish to merge, and can’t quite predict what your engine rate of acceleration will be. The controller definitely helps, but did not eliminate this annoying delay of acceleration.

I would like to try its competitors version to see if its the truck or the controller. If I do, I will update this review.

I was very impressed with this system at first. It completely brought my truck to life. I have a 19 Classic Ram 1500 5. 7 V8. It Only has 5k miles on it and it threw a throttle response code last week with the SEC10 response controller on which happened when I was pulling out on the Highway and put my truck into a temporary Limp mode.

Took it and had codes reset and it did it again today. Gonna have to just unplug it and quit using it or its gonna cause a wreck. Bummer cause when it’s working its Awesome.

Finally pulled trigger and ordered item. Super easy install, can tell the difference in responsiveness in performance, doesn’t differ much in track mode. Tones down in valet and economy mode. Product will stay on after cutting engine off.

Make sure you turn off. May keep, May sell. First day having it. 3. 6L ram 1500 2wd with kandn intake and 5. 7 oem exhaust set up.

I got this brand because I read pedal commander has had some negative reports including co-worker had it and removed it after CEL. This one had one issue within minutes but manufacturer quickly sent out a replacement after I called them.

The replacement has had no hiccups so far and does an outstanding job of removing lag. Drive mode is all I need and is still little too sensitive, but when I turn on tow mode on the truck the two setups work great together and feel like my mustang gt manual with transmission.

What I would like is the manufacturer to upload some videos with details on setting up your own custom curves or allow buyers to have a way to share their custom curves they have created with the amp’d community.

Or let you see the preset curves and let you tweak them and save them as custom curves.

Beats pedal commander hands down. My 2019 lifted 6. 2 L F250 4×4 long bed ,,,, no more throttle lag better milage in eco mode and reacts like a mustang gt in extreme mode. On the custom modes its just insane the amount of response you can tune in yourself.

Install took less than 30 minutes wireless connectivity on phone/ dash mounted controller no wires at all and shift on the fly I’m really loving that. Nice to see a product that does what it’s advertised to do and them some.

The install took about 30 minutes to install. The set up was easy. I can tell a big difference in the RPM when you rev the engine with each increase of the settings, and the test drive results were great.

When I had it set to 200% the truck jumped once I stepped on the gas pedal.

I put the Amp’d 2. 0 switch on my 2022 GMC AT 4 along with the Diablo Sport module and I can’t emphasize enough how it truly brings the beast out in the 6. 2 L motor. It’s so over the top and until you actually drive without it you can definitely get an A+++++++++ for this one @diablosportisabeastforthebuck!!!!!.

Bought for wife’s 2021 Yukon Denali, quick 15 min install and setup. Gives the impression of better power because of the quick throttle response and no more lag on turns, accelerating from a stop, etc.

Doing a PCM unlock and tuner just isn’t what we want to do on a new car, so the Amp’d is a perfect compromise for better performance and no warranty worries.

After purchasing my 2016 JK, I started having second thoughts about the purchase because of the ridiculously unresponsive throttle pedal and the gutless feeling of the Jeep. 285 horsepower should feel like 285 horsepower.

With crossed fingers, I purchased the X-Pedal Pro, installed it, and instantly my JK came to life like it should have been from the factory. I am using Sport Mode – Level 4, and that setting works amazing.

I felt that Level 5 was a bit too aggressive for everyday driving, so I have been running for for a few days now with Level 4 and I am more than pleased with the throttle response. If you think that these throttle controllers are a gimmick, think again.

The difference the X-Pedal will make in the way your JK 3. 6L will accelerate is astonishing to be honest. So far, this is the best money I’ve spent on my JK!.

Super simple to install and you def can tell the difference when using the Sport modes. My reasoning for the purchase was to “smooth” out the acceleration curve and not only is the throttle more responsive and the acceleration smooth, I have recaptured gas mileage as well to the tune of about a.

5 MPG’s. I would buy this again and recommend it to others for sure!.

Install was kinda scary looking at it from afar but after popping open the box and giving the instructions a good read it really only took roughly 10 mins from unplugging the battery to being all hooked up ready to rock.

It’s cool being able to adjust your peddle responsiveness with the touch of a button and it makes the jeep look alil nit more “sporty” with the module mounted upon the dash as well. You can feel a difference in throttle response with the sport mode it’s really nice, and the eco mode takes some getting used too since your throttle gets less responsive the higher you set it.

Over all I think it was a solid buy!.

Took a little longer then 5 minutes to install it was more like 15-20 minutes. But no unscrewing really besides a little plastic nail stub I had to remove off the bottom dash in order to reach the petal.

Instructions weren’t so great on manual had to look up a YouTube video on how to properly sync it to the car. Besides that it was amazing, instant throttle response. I always keep it on 9 going back down feels to slow of a response for me now.

Even though it doesn’t really Improve horsepower or torque, def improved me 0-60 time.
