15 Best Tiger Rice Cooker (2022 Updated)

I love my Tiger Rice Cooker. We are asian. We always have rice cookers in our home. This one is perfect size for our family. We like to have rice for a few days kept warm. This one said 12 hours so I was a little apprehensive about it.

But it was cute and a great price so we tried it anyways. It lasts about 3 days. It stays fresh until that third day. This is perfect.

Best rice cooker. Hands down. Always perfect. Recommend for sure! My family is big on rice. It’s part of our culture. Most of our dishes must be served with rice. It’s not the cheapest Rice cooker. But worth it and lasts a long time.

I have been using this rice cooker since 2005, it has (rather obviously) held up amazingly. You really can’t beat Tiger brand rice cookers, so while they are expensive, they are absolutely worth it. It cooks the rice quickly and is exact in the quality it puts out.

I love the keep warm setting that never burns the rice and keeps it just as delicious as when it was first made.

Needless to say. I had this Tiger brand rice cooker for 30 yrs. without of the problem. I did replace a new brand. it was Zojirushi. Man, I can tell you. they are both good brands. Just like comparing Mercedes cars and BMW.

I chose Tiger because Zojishuri manufactory had expanded in Shanghai China so the price could be cheaper. but copy right from China and a different name. So please, any buyer needs to be careful when u decided to buy.

And make sure the product is print in the front of the unit. (Made in Japan) from Osaka Japan It is a good product and famous in the decade. And also look at the flower design from the outside of the unit to make sure it is the same print and from Japan.

The one made from China had a different design flower. Searcing on google to see who can carry them at a good price. Do research for yourself and good luck. Strongly recommended. I just bought 4 more units yesterday.

Meanwhile, I did purchase 4 Units in 2017 for all my family members as a Christmas gift. The price increased every year, because of the economy and taxes. So if you love what u want to have. I would buy 2 units for future references.

We have this exact model which we previously purchased at an Asian store and it works wonderfully. No bells and whistles, just makes awesome rice, which is all I want it to do. We wanted to purchase a second one for a second home and Nordstrom Rack offered the best price but unfortunately, sent a defective product.

Immediately I noticed that the rice cooker doesn’t sit flat on my counter. It wobbles. If you look closely on the bottom rim, they are not equal on each side of the area where you press to cook. And that area is not flush with the rice cooker.

This high-quality and simple-to-use electric rice cooker is definitely recommended if rice is one of the staple foods in your household. This Japanese-made product will surely last several years (with proper maintenance and usage of course) and has a nice floral design with a clean white finish.

This is a great product and I may be buy one for someone else in the near future!.

It doesn’t cook rice properly. Ive tried cooking rice a few times already and it’s either burnt at the bottom of the rice or really soggy. The middle of the rice is not cooked and it the pot is extremely hot at the bottom.

I have been using the old version of the Tiger rice cooker for over 10 years and never had a problem. To make things worse, it comes with a repair warranty, not a refund or exchange warranty. I’m so unhappy with this rice cooker, I’ve wasted my money and I’m stuck with this rubbish.

I have been using a multi-purpose cooker to cook rice, but not really happy about the cooked rice quality. The Tiger cooks rice perfectly fluffy. Very happy with the result. The measuring cup provided and the levels of water marked in the pot makes it so easy to add the water to the rice.

Extremely satisfied with the Tiger.

Although expensive, I understand with rice cookers you general get what you pay for. I was also told to get Asian build. Ths one is build in Japan, they should know how to cook rice properly by now! Give restaurant quality plain rice, but I have’t tried the other features.

Better than any rice I have ever been able to cook by any other method, Thoroughly recommended.

This is a great rice cooker and the perfect size for 2-4 adults. The rice gets cooked evenly and it’s pretty much cook and you don’t have to think about it again. The only reason I took off one star off is because it has trouble keeping rice warm.

In fact, it’s TOO warm so any rice sitting longer in the pot for more than two two days start getting crisper around the edges to the point of being inedible. My family and I can normally finish before it gets there but we don’t eat rice everyday so it’s a bit tricky planning how much we need each time.

Because sometimes people can want more than one serving.

Doing my research, I found this is one of the best rice cookers in Japan. The Japanese manufacturer is highly rated. I followed the directions and it produced the best quality of rice I have ever made.

This product is worth the money. I highly recommend a Tiger rice cooker.

Love Tiger rice cooker! We recently upsizing our family, thus a new and larger rice cooker is needed. We read a lot of reviews about the new induction heating rice cooker, and wanted to get one to experience higher quality of rice cooking.

We was impressed because this price cooking is way better than the Tiger mi-com rice cooker that we had. It’s japan-made quality is undeniable, and rice tasted much better and all-well evenly cooked.

Cooks good rice but I was really disappointed with the craftsmanship. The water catch near the hinge broke first, then the lid stopped latching. Now, the handle of the lid is starting to split apart.

All of these are now affecting the cook of the rice because the lid cannot tightly seal anymore. Would not recommend purchasing this for such a high price. Suggest to purchase a Japanese one instead of the Chinese Tiger rice cooker that Wal Mart sells.

The first few times I found the rice was undercooked or had a stiff “skin” layer at the bottom. This was after following the limited instructions exactly. I found that adding extra water at the start helped to resolve both issues.

It takes some trial and error to figure out how much water works best. Once that is figured out, it works great.

Absolutely love this rice maker/steamer. Have had a couple of others that were fine, but this one is exceptional! Rice comes out fluffier. Easy to clean. Nice to look at. Highly recommend this one over any others.

Haven’t tried steamer feature yet, but I am sure it will be equally superior.

Think twice before you buy. Most rice cooker can last approximately 3 years with good care. The non-stick coating in this inner pan was peeling off. No utensils scraping; only use it during lunch and supper time; always clean with soft towels and dry it after wash.

Need to replace a new one as sometime the coating mixed in rice! This rice cooker have one year warranty but this rice cooker only lasted 1 year and 7 month for me.

Looks very nice. However, the button to open the rice cooker broke after a few months due to the spring popping out of place. The rice also takes a long time to cook :/. other than that, the rice cooks well and it keeps it warm.

I’ll probably consider a different rice cooker if/when this one gives out.

Looking at the quality of material, you can see where your money went to. Inner pot is thick and sturdy. The steaming tray is great. The lid has heating in it which makes heat distribution even in the pot.

I can leave my rice in there for a day or two and it is fine (does get dryer the longer you leave it). If you are a rice eater and cook rice all the time, this is the cooker for you. It will last you a long time.

I have mine for over a year now and it still looks like when I bought it. Works great as a slow cooker too. I used it to make beef curry and cabbage stew. I doesn’t need long to make your food soft.

I bought this product hoping I would eat great quality of rice. However it is very hard to adjust water level and if you get it wrong rice doesn’t come out nice and I have trouble understanding why they made it so hard to consumers to control that and I truly believe it’s not worth the price and they should feel shame about the product.

I also used steamer function and it didn’t function properly at all and food can’t be cooked well. I am really really disappointed in this product and I should never have paid this much money for rice cooker.

Total disappointment and I don’t recommend this product at all.

I bought this rice cooker over 3 years ago and it’s still working perfectly fine. I use it almost every day!!! It makes fluffy Japanese rice that is perfect for sushi or as a side dish but I also use it for brown rice, sweet rice and even mixed rice dishes like takikomi gohan.

Cooking the rice takes a while on ultra mode but I can prepare other dishes while the rice is cooking and it always turn out perfect, never brunt or raw. I can’t imagine life without this rice cooker!!!.

I love the Zojirushi 3-Cup Rice Cooker. All I needed was a basic cooker, and this cooks my rice perfectly. Cleanup is a breeze – no more soaking a stainless steel sauce pot, and then scraping with a plastic scraper to clean the bottom.

And no more boiling over the edge! The “click” of the cooker returning to “off” is loud enough to alert me so I can begin timing the last 15 minutes of the cooking cycle. I cook rice just for myself – usually one, but at the most two cups at a time.

Excited to get a new rice cooker. Our trusty rice cooker was looking tired. Ordered direct from Zojirushi. This one makes a giant mess, sprays and drools all over our kitchen counter. Disappointed to learn – after the fact – that Zojirushi will not accept a return if you open the box.

Very bad customer service. We pulled our old rice cooker out of the donation bag and will use it instead.

I was given a Zojirushi rice cooker 28 years ago at my wedding shower. I was bummed when it finally crapped out and tried a different brand as a replacement and it was terrible. I found the exact same style of Zojirushi but with a modern facelift and it is perfect.

All I need is the little click if that button and I know my rice is going to be perfect. I look forward to another 28+ years with this one. It’s a simple, sturdy and reliable design that is so hard to come by in kitchen appliances, and I am glad this type of cooker is still available today.

It is cute and perfect for my mom. Shes an elderly, wheelchair bound lady and this 3 cup rice cooker was the cutest best fit for my mom. This brand is the best brand and the only brand my parents buy.

Easy cooking for the kids and grandpa when I go to work while grandma watch the kids. My son can cook rice with out having to remember to push a lot of button to get it start.

This cooker was recalled in 2016 because it short-circuited causing shocks and fires. It was pulled from the market because the seller (Sherwood Marketing) claimed it could not afford to repair them.

Neither did it reimburse buyers. They are currently being sold as a Black Friday special for $19. 99 though it is supposedly illegal to sell them. If you use one, avoid touching any metal part while it is plugged in.

I was disappointed with this product. I thought I was getting a great deal, but it is cheaply made. Very light lightweight. It works great for yogurt which is what I got them for. Only thing is that it doesn’t give enough options.

I make 24hr yogurt and the highest option on this is 12. I wish you could just make the yogurt and choose 24 hrs if you wish. But if you try to do it the second time for the 24 hrs you can’t just add time.

It will heat up and cool down which you don’t want in the middle of your yogurt making.

I purchased this as a truck driver so I can cook will going down the road with out having to worry about it spilling over or tipping over. However I used it once, that’s right one time to sauteed some meat went to add my veggies and the thing died.

Called customer service and all they wanted what to do was sell me a free $100 Walmart card for $4. 95. after I got off the phone I smashed the pot and threw it in the trash.

Leider hat sich aber herausgestellt, dass die Entlüftung – welche jeder richtige Reiskocher hat – nicht, oder sgane wir besser nur mangelhaft funktionert.

Der Reis sieht augenscheinlich gut aus und schmeckt, der verwendeten reissorte entsprechend auch gut. Leider bedingt die falsche Kontroktion der Entfüftung aber, dass der Reis am Boden des Reiskochers anklebt und verbrennt.

Dies ist bisher noch bei keinem meiner Reiskocher passiert und ich verwende solche Geräte bereits seit über 25 jahren. Schade.

This rice cooker is tiny, true, but if you are looking for a small cooker for one to two people then this will work perfectly. I’ve had many rice cookers/steamers over my lifetime, and still have a large one for lots of rice with features for white and brown rice cooking as well as steaming – it works great.

However, this one, the Black and Decker 3-cup unit I actually USE much more than my large one. It is small enough that its left out on the counter as we have been using it all the time! Simple to use, simple to clean, fast to cook the rice.

One of the best parts is, (compared to larger units holding more rice) this cooker cooks the rice quickly and it is done in no time. I use good jasmine rice and this unit cooks it perfectly, the texture is spot on which is important.

Now, since it is small, you can not leave the warm feature on for a long time as it will dry the rice out. Makes perfect rice and a perfect amount for two people. If I want more rice with the leftovers the next day (like with chicken curry) I just made another batch at that time.

I got this a while back but never got around to actually making rice so I didn’t use it for a few months. I definitely regret that decision, this machine is awesome it takes like 15 minutes to make rice that comes out great every time.

Easy to clean, use, and small for storage. Great for 1 or 2 people. If you’re looking for i rice cooker strongly recommend this one.

I love this rice cooker. I’m alone and only needed a small amount of rice at one time. The Black and Decker is so easy to use, and stores well. Just one thing- I added a tiny bit more water so the rice is creamier and not hard in the center, but that’s a personal preference! They give you a rice measuring cup and a spoon.

No complaints about this product! I appreciate that it comes with a plastic special spoon tool to help get the rice out of the cooker, without scratching the bowl. It cooks the right amount of rice and quinoa for the week.

Perfect crock pot for all food types. I love putting pork in here and leaving it all day. The pork becomes super soft and delicious by the end of the day. This crock pot gets the job done. I would definitely recommend.

This is really only a 2 cup rice cooker with a pot a little larger than 7 cups. The dishonest manufacturer (and brandsmart) apparently gets away with claiming this is a 12 cup rice cooker by supplying it with a plastic “measuring cup”.

But that plastic cup only holds 5. 7 oz; that’s 29% less than 8 US fluid ounces (an actual measured cup). I knew this when I bought it but I cannot let their lies be left uncovered. From actual use the cooker is full with 7 measured cups of water.

I just cooked 2 cups (uncooked jasmine rice) with 3 cups water and when done the rice was within 1/2″ of the lid so I’d say that’s the max. I’ve cooked 1-1/2 cups of brown rice w/ 1-1/2 cups of water and that fits fine so you may be able to cook 2 cups of brown rice.
