14 Best Tiki Torch Fuel (2022 Updated)

This has been the best torch fuel for my family and I to use over this past summer! It did a great job at keeping all those pesky bugs and gnats away, far away from our outdoor space. It has a light scent that’s not to overpowering but great enough to aggravate the pests! That for me sold me instantly! It’s bottle is a great size that lasted my family and I all summer long and we used it in multiple containers! In the summer sitting outside nobody hates more than gnats swarming around their face if that sounds like you then I’d highly recommend you invest in this product! It’s a great high quality brand and their products are so great!.

Last year all the local big-box type lawn and garden stores ran out of this, here in very buggy, semi-tropical rainforest, deep-East Texas. So this year I got smart and got it on a bi-weekly, delivered to my door auto-shipment, directly from Tiki brand.

It works. And it has no smoke as promised, and very little oder. Last summer when I ran out, I had to resort to the smokey kind. Which is okay out on the lawn with a torch, but under the porch canopy it covers the ceiling in soot.

This is effective with NO noticeable or visible smoke.

We received this Clean Burn Bitefighter Torch Fuel along with a set of 2 tall torches plus 3 table torches as a housewarming gift. We have tried all kinds of citronella products but none have worked like this Bitefighter Fuel to keep the mosquitoes away from our picnic table when we have cookouts.

There is no strong chemical smell & this really is a clean burning fuel. I don’t feel like I need a shower when we come back indoor after using this product. We are really happy with this gift & will definitely buy more of this fuel for our torches.

I tested this fuel in a pineapple paradise glass table torch for the first time. Actually, I have never dealt with torch fuel before, I’ve worked with lamp oil and others, but not this one. At first I was kind of scared.

But my husband lit the wick and the fire was quite high, though it didn’t seem to be going all over the place only straight up vertically. We had it on for about half an hour. It worked really great and after seeing it for a while, I wasn’t too scared.

The instructions say to be very careful and to not place it under a covered area even after use. My husband liked the fact that the flame was huge, I did like it too. The best part is, after you blow it off to stop the flame, the wick cools down very quickly.

I like the cute pineapple shape too. It was easy to work with this torch. The torch is small but the flame is powerful that puts off all the mosquitoes away. The fuel is effective and thankfully not too strong.

I accidentally touched some with my bare hands but thankfully it didn’t harm my skin. But I would suggest try not to touch it. It’s easy to hold as well. So long as you keep it tightened after usage, it’s safe.

It’s easy to take it wherever you need to take it, such as for picnic. I would highly recommend it to everyone. Received it free, opinions are my own.

For years I was skeptical of how well this would repel mosquitoes because friends had torches that as soon as they were lit we were immediately covered in oily soot. Plus we were still bothered by mosquitoes.

But I finally decided I had to try something so we could enjoy the backyard. Bought some torches and tabletops and Bitefighter. Well son of a gun it REALLY works no more mosquitoes. And no oily spot at all, which I had forgotten about until yesterday when my friend lit his torches.

Turns out he has always used a different product – I thought they were all the same. I convinced him to try Bitefighter for the cleaner burn and the mosquito repellent. Hopefully he will listen, and if he doesn’t he will see the difference when he comes to our place.

We moved to this house last year and discovered that the mosquitoes here are far worse than at our last home. I wanted us to be prepared with effective repellents before they become a problem this year.

Since it is early spring, we haven’t yet seen mosquitoes, but I will share my thoughts so far. The bottle is made of a sturdy plastic that can take a few knocks around the garage, and it features a nice ribbed handgrip on the back.

What really impresses me is the innovative opening inside the neck of the bottle. It has an insert with holes that control the flow and make pouring much less messy when filling torches or lamps. The fragrance isn’t overwhelmingly petroleum nor overwhelmingly citronella.

I believe that using this fuel in our torches and lamps will greatly improve our ability to enjoy our porch and yard this summer.

Bug repellent is NOT a suitable substitution for weed killer. This is product ignorance. I got a text notification and when I click it, it tells me the window to decline the substitution is closed. Now I have to go to the store to return/exchange.

Definitely defeats the purpose of grocery delivery.

This eucalyptus oil is fabulous for keeping units and mosquitos away. We live in the south on the gulf coast in a wooded area where these bugs are relentless in the Spring and early Fall. We light these about 20 minutes before going outside and the bugs stay away.

We use wine bottle torches and keep them on the ground so the smoke will rise. If you elevate the torches, we found that the gnats and mosquitos will fly under the smoke area. The smoke is very minimal – you will not notice it or smell it – like a candle.

Smoke is less than with citronella oil and burns longer. Also more effective than citronella. We have compared it to the citronella oil and is so much better so we have switched. Very little scent – a light eucalyptus scent.

When it comes to mosquitoes, I am the draw in my family! We love our outdoor spaces but when I sit outside, I’ll expect to walk in the house with, at least, 10 bites (which is a lot in Northern Cal).

We started to add this Torch Fuel and it has made my life so much better! We line our patio with torches and this fuel really does help keep the mosquitoes at bay. I was really surprised about that. Personally, I liked that the fuel doesn’t smoke when it burns.

so, it burns a little more clean than other brands. but the added bonus of repelling mosquitoes has been a very, very pleasant surprise! I really recommend this fuel for your torches! On a side note, we have a neighbor who bought cheaper torches and another brand of fuel.

they always smoke and, once, they almost burned their porch when the torch went up in flames. We had them over for dinner and they were amazed that we had a very nice flame. no black smoke. The only thing is that the bottle is humongous and I spilled a little when I was pouring.

so, you definitely have to buy the funnel; personally, I think a funnel should be included with the purchase of a torch.

We received this to give an honest opinion/review of. We have used several Tiki products in the past and this one does not disappoint. There is very little smoke, but if that bothers you, they do offer a smokeless fuel version.

The bottle is designed nicely to make it easy to pour into any torch. And the smell of the fuel itself is a pleasant one so it’s not a deterrent for those with issues of strong smelling substances. We are very satisfied with this and will continue to use it in the future.

I have used Tiki brand citronella fuel for years. I live on a small lake in northern MI and the mosquitoes can get pretty bad in the summer. I light a couple big torches around my tables on the deck.

Sometimes 3 torches if using the hot tub. I wasn’t sure at first if they really made that big of a difference in the flesh eaters. After running out of fuel last year and basically being ran back inside because nobody could stand the mosquitoes I will never be without it again.

When I received the items. But one was damaged. When I opened it up it exploded in my face and chest. Some got in my eye and I flushed it. I think the package should have been packed better. And a fragile sticker on it.

We had two of these that we took camping a week ago. Camped in a small clearing surrounded by woods and right next to the Rock River in Illinois. It was hot and muggy, and the mosquitoes were absolutely trying to eat us alive.

We had a ton of bug spray on while getting camp set up. when we unpacked the little stuff I opened and lit both torches and placed one by the tents and one by our ring of chairs near the firepit. Seriously in 15 minutes the mosquitoes were gone! It was crazy.

We normally use 6 refillable torches, which I also had packed, but I didn’t ever feel the need to get them out. We were staying two nights, and used up both torches the first night, so I left and headed to Menards and bought 6 more.

Two for that night and 4 that I plan on using outdoors at home on occasion. These are just awesome and I cannot believe how well they worked. I will definitely also be trying some of their other similar items as well.

I received the torch fuel just in time for a party. Usually I have to fill the canisters with fuel which always makes a mess plus my hands get dirty with the black residue. Not with the ready to light torch fuel.

The hardest part was pulling up the sick which I did very carefully with a pair of scissors (pliers were not handy). Took me all of 20 seconds to do both canisters. I set them in the tiki holders, lit them up and whala- DONE.

Easy as that. They burned all night and kept us from getting bitten up in the area I had them. I would definitely purchase them again!.

We purchased 4 of these and had a fuel leak in the shopping bag before we even got home. Thinking it was because they were on their side, I put them in zipper storage bags and stored them upright. Not sure why, but they are still leaking.

I won’t buy these canisters again, but I would buy the fuel to burn in another safe container. The fuel seemed to work great for us.

I have two kinds of Tiki Torches around out pool and patio. I am happy to sat that this replacement fuel canister fit right into both of them. It took about 15 minutes for the citronella torch oil that I prefer, to wick it’s way to the top of the fiberglass wick.

Probably my fault since I only poured about an inch of fluid into the canister to try it out. It have been very windy for the past few days due to the Tropical Storm that is out in the Gulf. The torch had a nice thick flame that the wind was not able to blow out.

The next test came a few minutes later with a fairly heavy rain. I wanted to see how well the replacement torch canister would do, and amazingly while the flame sputtered a few times, the rain could not put it out.

GREAT REPLACEMENT for a rusted steel canister.

I have 4 beautiful stainless steel Tiki brand torches. The metal inserts rusted out on 2 of them. The replacement cannisters are too tall to fit, because the outer torch shell tapers at the bottom. So disappointing, and I can’t find replacement inserts.

Please make shorter cannisters.

There are two things I do when I shop, buy locally and/or buy from the manufacturer. I also shop price. I needed replacements. Not available locally, I went to Amazon only to find an $11 price per can, and eBay to find one for $8.

50. REALLY?! I was pleased to find TIKI sells directly to consumers at $11+ FOR 4 CANS. The shopping was easy, the delivery prompt, the quality, the best. I also found other products to my liking. What a great find, and they found a new customer.

Received my 4 pack really fast and at a great low price compared to local stores. I alos like the new wide mouth canisters which make filling it much easier to see what you’re doing and to prevent spills.

Now I need to complete my diy table top canisters made from used large candle tins. I may end up purchasing more canisters since I have a lot of candle tins.

I found these canisters to be super easy to use. You just drop them in one of the attractive table torches, unscrew the cap and light. Then, when you are finished, the cap is used extinguishes the flame.

I also found the scent to be quite pleasant and it did seem to repel the bugs.

Paraffin lamp oil. Is part of my “back up” system, in the event of an emergency. Haven’t used it yet, but the packaging is superb. Double boxed, and the lid taped up to the bottle to minimise any leaks.

And a very strong tape. If all companies too the time to pack their products this well, There would be far few problems with online ordering! I want to thank the company for their care.

This is odorless, unlike some lamp oils that can smell like kerosene. Buying by the gallon is a much better value for me than buying lamp oil locally in smaller bottles. My only problem with this is that even using a funnel I can’t pour it without it dripping.

Lamp oil is apparently tasty to dogs, and mine will lick this off the floor if they get a chance, so I fill my lamps in a sink and keep this oil away from my pets.

On par with other premium lamp oils as far as burn time is concerned. What I noticed is that It burned much cleaner( no smell, no headache) and much brighter than previous lamp oil I have used

We use these when the power goes out. We bought some very rare oil lamps & they are displayed on my dining room table. The red sets them off with the centerpiece onyx bowl. Love it!

Great bright color (we use it in our hurricane lamps) for looks in accepting lamps,We haven’t used it for lighting in the lamps as yet. I would say that the price is fair not good but fair and I’ll probably purchase more in different colors.

I bought this product to clean my motorcycle engine, wheels, etc. And it works well.

Used for four days in electricity blackout. Oil was slow burning and had just a slight odor. Still was excellent oil. Just purchased more oil in case of another outage.

Haven’t used it yet, as I got it to use for emergencies with my old fashioned oil lamp, but it came quickly, packaged well, and as described. It was by far the best price I found.

The Firefly candle oil is superb. I have been looking for this item for our 4 pottery candles and this product is perfect. The fiber wicks sit in clay balls and they burn clean, smokeless and odorless.

GreAt product. I bought another bottle too as watching the candles glow on winter evenings is very calming.

Not odorless but it is “odor” “less”. I can not live with kerosene in a lamp in my home or any area closed, I am very sensitive to hydrocarbons and suffer allergic type symptoms and headaches, when exposed.

this was much better than kerosene, but NOT odorless, but in my opinion was 50% to 80% more tolerable in the same environments. I have used up to four lamps at the same time in my office and not suffered my typical headache, but could very much notice my sinus conditions worsen.

So I would say it is the best I have found to date, but not as good as the ad sounded, and will try it again.

I needed this for my oil lanterns that I keep on hand during the winter – not only do they light up the darkness, they also warm things up. The lamp oil has to be smokeless for indoors and the petroleum odor needs to be kept at a minimum.
