20 Best Tiller For Roots (2022 Updated)

As stated above, this saw is awesome when it works. I’ve owned this saw since August 2021 and at first I thought this was the true replacement to corded saws until about 3 months ago the trigger just gave out after sitting on the horse for 20 minutes, not even in the middle of a cut.

I took the saw apart and the contacts in the trigger seem fine and clean, all the springs are in place on the safety thumb lever so I put everything back together and it worked perfectly. Then a few days later the same problem happened, being the only saw on my truck, the day was halted until I went home to get my corded saw.

Now I keep both saws in my truck, this one to cut until it decides to take a nap and my plug in to finish the day. no its not a battery problem, I use all Milwaukee batteries xc 5ah 6ah 9ah. its not a binding problem, im not building canoes and I dont push the saw through material, especially if im missing a tooth or two on the blade.

seems like its some thermal overload feature or something that saves the motor or possibly a faulty switch/trigger. Don’t get me wrong I love my m18 framing gun and impact wrenches/drivers, this isn’t a Milwaukee bash.

Just seems like a steep price for a saw that hasn’t even worked flawlessly for a whole year while my corded saw is a hand-me-down from my dad and has a good 25+ years of framing in the rain/snow, demo jobs, ect.

Milwaukee’s M18 FUEL 6 1/2″ circular saw brings a lot of power to the table allowing you to make fast cuts and more cuts per charge. The guard and shoe on the saw are made of cast magnesium which makes the saw durable and light in weight.

Also the circular saw has an on board LED light to help you see your cuts and also a rafter hook for easy storage on the job site. The saw also has the ability to make bevel cuts up to 50 degrees. I’m writing this review coming from using the M18 brushed version of the 6 1/2″ circular saw.

That saw has served me well for over 5 years and I have zero complaints with that saw, but when compared to the FUEL version, they are not comparable. Right out the gate the FUEL version is lighter at only 6.

8 lbs compared to the older version which is 9. 0 lbs. The amount of power this saw generates is perfect for cutting 2x4s. The tool is well balanced and comfortable for one handed use. Having a rafter hook is such a huge convenience and helps to keep your work area cleaner.

I typically run this saw with a XC5. 0 battery but if I’m doing a lot of framing then I’ll run it with an 8. 0 high output battery and it pretty much lasts the whole day. Overall very happy with the performance of this saw!!.

I had to add this to my tool arsenal, as I own the m12 circular saw and it just kept bogging down while cutting old subfloor up from our house. Overall this M18 Fuel version is a very solid product and I am extremely happy with it.

It is very well built, well balanced considering it’s size and has enough power to cut through anything from 3/4″ plywood, to OSB, to 1/2″ oak boards nonstop. I’ve even hit quite a few nails with it while cutting subfloor up and it went through them like butter and the blade withstood no damage! Like to Haves: – I was hoping there would be a laser or at least a light to work in conjunction with this.

– If the blade alignment marking on the shoe was a bight color (red) to help it stand out and cut with better results staying on the line without a guide. – The dust shoot could use another attachment that allows the dust to be redirected based on where I would want it to point.

Using this in a house/in a room cutting up old subfloor the saw dust. – I tend to remove the joist/rafter hooks off my products, so if there was a cap that was able to cover this empty area that would be a nice detail.

This is the Fuel version of this tool. I I have the non fuel version as well and they have both served me well. This is definitely an upgrade and the tool less switch makes blade changes easier. A very versatile tool which performs well and being cordless makes it easy to take with you on ladders and in areas where you would need to run a long extension cords.

I I have cut nails, wood, and screws when cutting top plate of doors and on fences.

I use this tool on a daily basis as a carpenter. This version has made serious improvements on the alternative 12v tool and as now on par with the 18v oscillating tool. It has lower vibrations than the 12v version and more efficient battery performance due to the brushless motor.

It feels as strong as the 18v version in a slightly more compact body and the advantage of being able to stand the tool upright on the battery which the 18v version lacks due to the battery mount being positioned at an angle.

I love using this tool and highly recommend it!.

I don’t write a lot of reviews but I really feel the cultivator has earned one. Ego really knocked it out of the park with this attachment. My wife and I wanted to put in a small vegetable garden in an area that has had grass for the past 25+ years.

I didn’t want to buy a large rototiller to break up the ground so I figured we could use this cultivator and slowly break it up over the course of the next couple months and then it would be ready for planting next year.

Boy, was I wrong. This thing tore through the sod like it was nothing. Many years ago I owned a gas powered Mantis tiller that I thought was really powerful and the Ego cultivator put it to shame. The tines easily bit into the ground with minimal bouncing and absolutely no “bogging down”.

The torque this thing has is amazing. My wife and I are both 58 years old with health issues so we would take turns in 10-15 shifts. It ended up taking us a couple days to get the patch ready for planting, but a younger, stronger person could have easily completed the project in an hour or so.

Needless to say, the battery lasted longer than we did! I can’t recommend this cultivator enough. It is well built and extremely powerful. A couple of notes: It feels pretty heavy when you are carrying it, but once the head is in the dirt, it’s easy to hold up and control.

We do use the shoulder strap though. As I said before, a younger, stronger person might not need that, but for us it helped us last longer.

Weeds in my garden! I enlarged a garden parameter and killed the mix of grasses and weeds using Glyphosate. I then lined the parameter with Giant Liriope with the intention of mulching after removal and repositioning of other plants.

This took longer than anticipated and the grasses and weeds grew back in between the Giant Liriope. Rather than back breaking weed pulling or risky Glyphosate application near the new plants I tried using the Cultivator Attachment to go in between the plants.

I removed the outer blades to narrow the footprint and add a safety margin to the new plants. This worked out great! The power of the EGO Cultivator is impressive. There was a little bouncing going through the St.

Augustine but that may have been due to removing the outer blades. I have since used the cultivator with all the blades in Bermuda grass with no bouncing. But the power, no bogging down and the battery (5 amp) lasted for nearly 2 hours.

Since the plants were newly planted I was able to get fairly close, go deep, and not damage roots. I was however able to destroy the roots of the grasses and weeds. The weight distribution seemed about right and even though it was work, I was not fatigued.

It was easy to pull, push and go side to side. Side to side is the easiest but I mostly pulled in this job. The Cultivator is still new to me, but my intention will be to lightly cultivate between the Giant Liriope and the grass line regularly in order to deter weed growth.

Along with the edger I hope to eliminate using glyphosate in this area.

The power this attachment has with its portability is almost comical. It should not be possible. It would take a week to prep my beds and gardens by hand. This cultivator allows me to complete the same chore in an hour.

The unit in operational configuration is heavy, a fact that assists it during operation. I frequently use it single handed. In my soil it acts more like a vaccume cleaner. The ease of use lets me maintain the beds as weed control.

Lets you have that fresh turned manicured look. And the increased aeration. If you are ammending soil this is your new best friend. One tip i do offer about this attachment is to use a blower over the area to be worked.

This will rid the area of frogs and other critters that that do not fall within intended purpose of the cultivator.

Quite simply, this cobrahead weeder helped me clear out the weed patch that was my backyard. After a year of home remodeling, I was finally able to access my backyard to start cleaning up the weeds. With my Gempler’s cobra had weeder in hand, I was able to finally remove nearly all of the tenacious weeds by the roots.

I still have a small patch to work on, but I know it’s possible given the right tools. I was so impressed by the weeder that I bought three more to give as gifts to my friends who are gardeners. Thank you Gempler’s for providing the right tool at the right time.

The first 30 seconds I used this I got a large rock stuck in between the shield and the tines and thought I broke my new machine in 30 seconds! I tried pulling, pushing and finally used a hammer and banged it out.

The machine started like it never happened. All the good reviews on here are true – powerful yet so easy to use. I’m using it to dig up my yard at my time and leisure and it’s working amazingly well.

Tip for grass/sod removal – short grass of course – leave the wheels down and dig up the top couple inches and let die off then repeat. Then go deeper with the wheels up. I’ve made a 20x almost 50 foot garden this way and can continue to work as/when I’m able or want to and am already looking forward to digging in my leaves at fall.

Get the 14 gauge extension cord if you are working 100 feet from power supply as this is a strong machine. I’ve dug up small rebar, tent stakes, giant old heavy pieces of glass, drawer glides (yes that was in my yard) nails, screws and found many bricks and the machine keeps on going.

As to the reviews that says it bounces – it’s supposed to do that and so will the giant heavy gas ones depending on what the tines hit – just do you part of the job and remove the non dirt items after the machine finds it for you.

I’m very happy with my purchase and with all the work that I’m getting accomplished at my pace and schedule instead of a rental companies. Super smart purchase for anyone with a yard:).

This machine worked exactly as i hoped. It was fairly simple to assemble (1 screwdriver needed). the speed is just right making it easy to control and maneuver. because of it’s light weight, if you needed to sink deeper into the dirt for penetration, all you had to do was hold it in place for a few extra seconds and it would dig itself in.

it had plenty of power and torque to dig itself into the ground, and enough weight so that you didn’t have to force it down, and light enough to carry around to areas of a small yard. the only problem i did note was that while i was tilling near an existing shrub.

the tiller grabbed the root and it wrapped around the blade spindle. i unplugged the machine (safety first) and began to unwind the root. this was tough because there is no way to reverse the blade spindle to unwind the root.

i had to literally cut the root off the spindle. so be careful when using this equipment near existing plants with root systems. it will tangle in the blades and might be a tough removal situation. i would say this is perfect for small gardens and tiller jobs.

i already have a friend that wants to barrow it.

Been using mini tillers for years, specifically a Mantis Tiller. Well, it finally gave it up after many years of service. I decided I would just get another one as it worked so well for so long. (I’ve had it going on 14 years.

) After looking around and realizing the new mantis tillers had honda engines on them, my wife suggested I just look at Honda tillers. Did some research and found this little fg110 speced out nearly the same as the matis, but had wheels and a drag bar.

Checked around and lowes had the best price on them. (Which was nearly $50. 00 cheaper then mantis price) bought one and tilled the little garden with it. Wow, it does so much better then the Mantis ever did.

I feel like I was living under a rock for years. Quite, very fuel efficient, much more powerful, and tills so much faster. The dirt even looks Luke’s its been fluffed up better. Didn’t have any issues tilling up some hard packed areas either! Typically it took about 2 hours with the mantis and (my wife trimmed me) I was finished with the Honda in an hour and fifteen minutes.

This little thing is just amazing. Can’t say how much better I like it then the old mantis I’ve had for years. Hopefully it will last just as long, but I don’t expect to have issues with it.

I’ve wanted to purchase this tiller for years but since we already owned a Honda tiller I couldn’t justify another one. My wife used the older tiller and was sore for days so that was justification to make the purchase.

I ordered it just in time for her garden season and she loves it. Lightweight and rugged. She tilled her whole garden without any aches and pains. Easy to use and easy to store! Our other tiller is 30+ years old and always starts con the first pull, just like the new one! We’ll use this in all our gardens.

We love it and highly recommend it!.

This is our first tiller purchase. I think Honda in general is expensive. After using our mini-tiller I had no buyer’s remorse. It worked well beyond my expectations. It is indeed small but has a BIG BITE! Very powerful for it’s small size.

Convenient to transport anywhere. Set up was quick from the box. The oil chamber inlet is interesting that you basically have to flip over the tiller to fill the oil and check it in the future. That is different.

OVERALL we are very satisfied with this little BEAST of a tiller and are thankful it is worth it’s price.

I gave this rating four stars for the warranty and I hope that I just got a bad motor off the shelf. To be fair for the first three months it worked like a dream. I always laid it on the back seat of my crew cab so it was never damaged in transit.

After less than three months thought, the forward drive just up and quit with no warning. Not what I would expect from Minn Kota. I took it back to Canadian Tire and they gave me a brand new one off the shelf with no questions asked.

While I am pleased I will say that if the second one fails prematurely I will definitely not buy one again regardless of the warranty. For what it is worth I am of the opinion that I just happened to get the bad one off the shelf as Minn Kota seems to have a good reputation and when the motor worked, it was outstanding.

I have to restated that they stand behind their products and that means a lot to me.

Upon installation it was apparent that the motor must have been dropped during shipping. The first two speeds would not work, and any higher speeds would make a terrible grinding noise. I called MinnKota and they gave me the option to return it to the store for an exchange, or bring it to a repair facility 45 minutes from my house.

I opted to return it, as it should work as expected from the factory. I brought it back to my local bass pro shops, and they refused to return it without the original box, despite MinnKota telling me to return it to the store.

When I called bass pro, they gave me an option to ship it back to them, at my own expense of finding a box big enough.

Unable to dig much anymore due to arthritis, I decided it was time to invest in in a rototiller. I looked for the lightest weight one with the best reviews for ease in handling. I am ecological and prefer electric but avoid batteries as much as possible.

This little wonder-machine has been perfect. And it’s not noisy, which my urban neighbors appreciate, I am sure.

I’ve used my Sunjoe Tiller twice. I’m a 57 year old lady who loves to garden. I had top soil delivered and had it leveled. The dirt became hard and packed and was difficult to manually use a hoe and rake on it.

I saw the good reviews on this tiller and price was reasonable. I am VERY pleased with this tiller. I would definitely recommend it.

I own two of these tillers and have put quite a few hours on them. Why two? After a couple of months, the trigger handle broke on the first one. I was not able to obtain the part, and reports from other owners indicated that it might be a long time before I got it back from service.

I wanted a second battery anyway, so I bought another tiller and figured I would have the previous one for parts or fix it down the line. Well, the trigger handle broke on the second one after three days.

Bummer. I could have sent it off for repair, but I had no confidence that, after the expense and time involved, I would not just end up with another broken plastic handle before long. Instead, I removed the switch assembly and just connected up a standard wall switch.

It is a pretty wack fix, but it works fine, and I actually prefer using it this way to the original safety switch. Other than the trigger, this is a great tiller that I really enjoy using. It has a lot of power, but it light and easy to handle.

The battery lasts about as long as I want to operate the thing in one stretch. If they can just replace the trigger with a stronger material, this machine would be a real winner.

I bought an extra battery because I figured I would need it, but it does quite a bit with just one battery. It tills pretty well. But it doesn’t pull forward as well as the gas-powered one. The wheels are helpful but sort of a hindrance also.

I end up having to push it to make it go forward. I don’t like the v in the handle at all. It is much harder to use one hand to till or pull it backward as I walk. I usually pull things with wheels behind me as I walk forward, but this just turns over because of the v in the handle.

I don’t like the lever that you pull to start it with. Very awkward trying to turn the on button and pull the lever. The lever is plastic, and the lever and button just don’t work together well. I have to use 2 hands to turn it on.

I am not strong enough and can’t get the wheels to budge at all because the spring is so tight, so I just leave them down to till. It is a good first try at a battery-powered tiller but needs some improvements.

I love the fact that it is easy to release the handle if I need to pause and then can start it right back up again. All in all, I am glad I bought it and won’t buy another gas-powered tiller.

We have used a full-sized Troy-Bilt tiller for decades, and it just became too much to fight with as we age. We bought the Mantis tiller and we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome! It achieved the same results as the big tiller but without the struggle of the big unit.

It’s powerful, quiet and easily maneuvered. I highly recommend this unit. The battery lasts a long time, but we did have to stop and recharge before we were done. My one complaint is that a second battery is cost-prohibitive.

Having one on the charger and one working would have been perfect. The price needs to be lowered on batteries.

I simply adore my Stihl 171!! I am learning at the age of 45 & have been taught thru my life to fear chainsaws. I started out with an older used McCullouch so to me this Stihl is like a Cadillac. It starts like a champ and I can start it without putting it on the ground which is really saying something for this old lady! Nice and light so easy to pack in to the places we go.

Translucent gas tank is a nice touch. Simply cannot beat the price and I am able to keep up with my husband and his 455 Husqvarna for the most part. I leave the 36″-48″ stumps to him. Simply a joy of a machine.

The young sales associate at Ace hooked me up with the upgraded warranty (4 years) with the purchase of bar oil that was needed anyways. He even gased it and test started it before we left the store.

Nice touch!.

I like the saw. Once it warms up for a minute or two, it idles really well. No movement of the chain and no stalling. Cuts fine, could use a bit more power if you’re using it to cut large, hard trees (16 inch Ash trunk) but it’s ok if you slow down.

To be fair it’s not meant to cut anything that big really. Light – similar to an older Husqvrana I own but idles way better.

This tore through weeds in my raised beds like a hot knife through butter. It is heavy enough to do the job but doesn’t cause unnecessary fatigue. This tool is well made and nicely designed. Although expensive, it is worth every penny.

As a bonus, I could use this to defend myself if confronted by an intruder–it’s that sharp! Wish I had not waited so long to get this as it has made my gardening life MUCH easier this year.

I use this for cultivating, weeding, soil amending, and breaking up dirt in raised beds, as well as at arm’s length when I’m kneeling. I’ve been fixing up the yard of a friend who has terminal cancer, so I need to work quickly to finish so she can enjoy it with the time she has left.

This tool has really kicked my pace into high gear. I don’t have to waste time standing up to get the regular sized hoe or switch tools. I can just keep flipping this sturdy tool around as I need to and keep working.

The handle is long enough to sit safely on a chair or bench and reach weeds in the bed and not worry about falling into it!. Both attachments work beautifully together.They are now gifts for others.

Used this little monster to break up an 11′ diameter circle of very healthy lawn as the Vice-President of Life ordered a flower bed to be emplaced. This little tool (and it’s so small, it’s bordering “cute”) worked very well – but there are limitations.

The advantage of this being a very small, very light tiller is a disadvantage when breaking well-grown grass and/or areas with thicker roots. When doing the breaking, it bounces all over the place and really isn’t all that effective if you let it move it’s natural forward direction.

What I found however, is that if you hold it in spot for a bit to do some digging/initial breaking, then PULL BACKWARDS AGAINST THE ROTATION, it will cut up against the sod and it works pretty well. It’s still pretty light though and any substantial roots will have it bouncing.

Just east it off and come at it again. If the root is getting to the 1/2″ size, stop and take it out with an axe or spade instead. With it bouncing around like that, it’s hard to keep the trigger all the way depressed – but that’s a safety feature I wouldn’t remove, just would have preferred a palm switch over a trigger finger one to make it easier.

After “backing up” over the whole area (and yes, there’s a heck of a bicep workout there) and the core sod broken (and raked clear), I set it a incrementally deeper and let it go forward – holding back in areas that needed more attention.

The unit is so light that it’ll happily “walk over” areas of strong resistance (and more roots. ) When encountering those, I just pulled back over top of them (just like “vacuuming the bed”) and the reverse-cutting motion did the job.

If I had a full-size, gas-powered rototiller, the job would have been quicker and with less arm work. Having said that, I don’t want or need that kind of beast and now that this areas is broken up, I can use it at leisure next spring.

The thing is zero-maintenance and so light it’s quite easy to store. Just needs a little manual effort to convince it (really hold it back) in the tough areas. I haven’t looked at seeing if I can selectively take tines out for ultra-thin tilling – maybe next year.

It’s only 16″ as it is though, so likely not necessary. Having to manage the electrical cord was a bit of a minor pain – but still far less than gas, oil, and seasonal maintenance. Definitely a recommended buy for smaller gardens, flower beds and places where you just can’t justify getting the heavy duty equipment.

If you do gardening or you need to till your soil or get rid of a weeds in a larger area that you don’t feel like using a hoe or pitchfork, you need this product immediately! I’ve been avoiding getting any kind of electric machinery for the purposes of gardening for years, but using this tiller saved me weeks worth of work.

I have two vegetable gardens about 25 ft by 15 ft each. I used this tiller to clear out the weeds and till the soil and it probably only took an hour. It saves you so much time and effort! another thing that surprising about this tiller is that the blades are pretty strong against rocks.

I have a few rocks that are the size of a lime or lemon, and this machine just works through them effortlessly. the machine will start vibrating violently if you hit a rock or very hard clay soil. I merely stop the machine, clear the rock away and continue.

I got a large Rock about the size of a brick Lodged in the machine but I banged the brick away with a hammer and then continued using the machine. The machine holds up fantastically. I’ve probably only logged about 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours with this tiller but I would highly recommend this product.

the machine has a wide handle ( like a lawn mower) so it takes a lot of upper arm strength to move the machine. you might find your shoulders a little sore the first time you use it. I hope this machine lasts at least 3 years and I’ll call it a superb value.

My 35-year-old daughter had difficulty with her gasoline-powered tiller, mainly getting it started, even though she had rebuilt the engine. My 77-year-old rotator cuffed shoulder has the same problem.

She recommended an Earthwise, but hers is corded. I ordered the cordless model because our garden is more than 150 feet from the house. I have now tilled two extensive patches: one was not previously tilled, the other was, and has had mulch worked in for twenty years.

In both cases, the tiller worked delightfully. With the gasoline-powered tiller, my hands would “tingle” after ten minutes of use. There’s no tingle with this one. In addition, of course, the noise level is very low.

The power is all one could wish for!.

I bought this because I wasnt interested in having another gas motor-powered tool to maintain. I started off in what I already knew was going to be the most difficult part of my new garden, established grass underneath a massive maple tree, and it did a better job than I expected.

I really only needed it to go down deep enough to kill the grass so I could level it off and layout weed mat, and it did that fairly well. It powered through most of the grass eventually, but this tiller absolutely does not like or handle tree roots well.

Every root it hit sent the tiller vertical a few inches and more or less made the experience like trying to wrangle a large animal that does not want to be wrangled. I dont have to go to the gym after that little section because that was a hell of an arm workout keeping that tiller from flying away from me.

It tends to bind grass up pretty bad despite the fact I mowed the grass to the shortest length my mower goes to, and I would not advise using this tiller on anything other than bone dry dirt. I thought the ground was dry enough, and in the spots, it was bone dry it excelled, but the slightest bit of dampness exacerbates the binding.

Im not trying to make this review seem like this tiller isnt worth buying, because it is, and I would absolutely buy it again, but you should use this tiller more in clear areas free of roots or raised beds, which is what I actually bought it for ultimately.

I just needed it to get a much tougher job than it was intended for first in order to place my raised beds. All in all, Id say this is a good product. It needs a reverse function though. At one point, it lodged a huge piece of rotten tree root into the blade and shroud and it took a while to get it out.

If I couldve reversed the blades it wouldve freed up immediately.

Our vegetable space is mostly in 12 large raised beds–4x4x8 feet each–so turning the soil for planting from a waist-high position has been a real job. With the Mantis, the tilling takes just a couple of minutes per bed, not the 25 arduous minutes from before the Mantis.

Genuine pleasure and mixing the new compost into each bed goes much better. Also, this year we decided to create a 200-square-foot ground-level bed for squash plants and vines, so we used the Mantis to break up the soil, which was heavy, dried-out clay, and mix in the gypsum and composted mulch we used to aerate it.

The little guy just chewed through like a champ–we are delighted! With a good base created, we’ve added a good thick layer of composted cow manure, and the squash bed is all set for planting–in just a week (including the days it took to lay the free-stone wall around it)! Our Mantis may not be as powerful as a regular tiller, but it certainly has made working our little garden much, much easier.

A great tool addition for gardening. Makes getting rid of weeds with their roots a much easier job. And as for getting into brambles it’s a doddle. I just stick the business end into the bramble and wind until the bramble rips of, then bag it from the tool with some clippers without having to touch any of it.

No thorn damage to hands and arms. Great invention, great help. As a disabled person with damaged arms and back, this tool is a god send. I can only recommend this tool.

Although a good principle, in reality it’s not better than a spade. Yes there’s less bending involved, but it just doesn’t work on compacted or clay soil. Plus if you have any weakness or arthritis in your hands and wrists, all the twisting involved just makes your hands and wrists quickly sore.

Brilliant product! Easy to use. Really effective; makes light work of breaking up a baked flower bed. Have been using it for months now. Superb value for money!

This is an excellent Dethatcher! Surprisingly very effective for its size. I was going back and forth about buying or renting a unit but renting one has it’s Pros and Cons and finally decided to make the investment into buying one and I’m so glad I did.

It’s so easy to put together. All you need is a screw driver to tighten the lower handle bar and everything else is hand tightened. This unit comes with an extra set of tines should one or more ever need to be replaced and the instruction booklet shows step by step how that’s done.

Now I’ve lived at my home for 30 years and never dethatched my lawn. This year I had an infestation of grubs that the eliminator I put down for them every season did not penetrate through to keep them at bay and ravaged my lawn badly.

This was the motivating factor for me to finally take the plunge and purchase this unit. It does the job with such power and ease and leaves a thick trail of thatch behind with every pass. NEVER pull it backwards!!! Always go with the forward motion so you don’t damage the unit or your lawn.

Make sure you clear any twigs, branches, rocks, and cut your lawn before you start the process to get best results. ALWAYS USE THE CORRECT EXTENSION CORD FOR OUTDOOR USE!! Took me about 30 minutes to dethatch, collect the thatch and clean up my front lawn.

I still have my back yard to do but the weather hasn’t been cooperating and will have to wait until the Spring to do it WHICH is fine by me knowing I have this unit and able to pull it out and use it when the time is right.

The handle on this can be folded down for easy storage. I kept the box it came in and will be storing it away that way. Keep it clean and neat. This is such a great quality unit that it’s worth the investment.

Watch out for your neighbors who want to take turns borrowing it!!!!.

This little tool is amazing. Prior to purchasing this I rented a scarifier from a hardware store because my lawn (almost an acre) was more thatch and moss than lawn. It did okay, but it was incredibly heavy and loud! I was able to purchase the dethatcher for the price of that rental and it was so much easier to use and removed the same (if not more) than the professional gas powered one.

I hesitate to use the word “fun” but seeing how much thatch this was able to remove from my lawn while being 10% of the weight and 5X the maneuverability was fun. My only issue is that I have not figured out a way to effectively use a cord as long as I need (100′) without getting bunched up, but that has nothing to do with the machine itself.

I highly recommend it, and if you have a smaller yard this will be the only tool you need to dethatch and you’ll be amazed at how much you are able to remove.

Never dethatched my lawn before and it definitely needed it. I could see all the dried dead grass blocking the soil. Raking by hand never seemed to get it up. This dethatcher was the answer. Started at the lowest setting and quickly realized I needed to go the lowest depth.

Made a couple passes while raking a pile of dead grass in between each one. Had a few piles each time. Grass looked much cleaner right after. I fertilized right after and a couple weeks later, lawn looks much better.

The extension cord is kind of a pain to deal with but manageable. Took a while to rake the yard after each pass. Next time, I may just use my lawnmower with the bag on the pick up the thatch. Overall, this is a great buy.

Handy cultivator for numerous uses. I took the two outer tines off, bought spacers at a hardware store and used it as a narrow cultivator to clean up a French drain trench for preparation for seeding.

The soil the contractor used was not great, so mixed in some good topsoil. This also leveled the trench. This was the best tool I could find.
