20 Best Time Blocking Planner (2022 Updated)

I have used this calendar for more than 15 years. I love it because of its size, the squares in the month are the perfect size also. I love it because it is basic: no tabs, no lines in the margins, no business expense reports pages, just basic.

It’s lightweight, the spiral is covered, the cover is super sturdy. What do I hate about it? The color. Or should I say the lack of color choices. Black, Blue, Red. I alternate the colors each year and my frustration with color choice is ever constant.

How about Magenta or Grass Green or Purple or Orange or Sky Blue or Yellow? Something besides “dude colors”. Seriously.

I have been using this exact calendar for what will become 43 years. Absolutely love it. I have adequate daily space as well as open monthly space to make notations. Also appreciate the back pages: can make notations for the next year by month (advance planning section); the holiday schedule for the year, ‘days to remember’ section, and the 3 consecutive year condensed calendars.

The designer cover allows me to insert paper items inside both of the front and back covers. I’m constantly using this calendar, and it holds up well.

I am a planner junkie, and have tried so many different planners, just to find the experience too complicated, not detailed enough, the planner is too big, the planner is too small. so many reasons to move on the the next one! I am so excited that I have finally found MY PLANNER MATCH! The Panda Planner, specifically the VIA Panda Planner is literally my everything, and I will not use anything else.

It has the exact right combination of planning space, blank space and guided direction and reflection space – I am literally a better person every day after using my Panda Planner! Specifically with the VIA edition, there is space to record what strengths in your personality, based on the VIA assessment, each particular task is using and optimizing.

I previously used and found benefit in the Classic Panda Planner. As an adult with ADD and considerable responsibilities in a large, complex healthcare organization, it was one important tool in assisting me in staying on track with priorities, both long term and day to day at work and at home.

Now having recently retired, I have begun using the new ViaPlanner from Panda Planner. I found the Via Strengths assessment to be congruent with other instruments that I previousy used over my years of working as a Hospital Chaplain, Counselor, and Healthcare Executive, as well as congruent with my self-perceptions.

I believe having such a structure that is closely integrated into monthly, weekly and daily planning is a valuable tool for those of us who wish to always have a Strengths and Values base for holistic reflection on our lives.

However work is defined at different points in life, as well as in our important relationships with self and others, I am finding it extremely valuable for myself and highly recommend it to others. I find reflecting upon how I can be intentional in reaching toward my lesser used Strengths at times to live more congruently with my aspirational Values.

Overall, I believe this product ticks the boxes for a great planner – especially what it is designed for. My biggest issues are the overall setup of the journal. I prefer journals that work chronologically and from month down to weeks to days.

Ideally I would have given this journal a 5 star review if the journal worked by rearranging the month/week/days sections. Flipping from section to section can get a little out of hand as the days and weeks progress.

And as someone who works outside of the typical 9-5 schedule the pre-typed hour schedule makes it difficult for me to set up all my appointments. When the remainder of the schedule makes it easy to insert the necessary dates and times, why not cut that little bit and let each individual insert their preferred method of hour to hour scheduling But as the journal has done what I wanted out of it, these issues come down to aesthetics that personally don’t work the best for me.

As for the effects, combining mindfulness into a planner, as well as the VIA insights, I find my days more productive and my goals more manageable. So for anyone who needs more insights into themselves, mindfulness to their days, and accessibility into better problem solving for goals, this planner is an excellent tool to have at your disposal.

I’ve used this appointment book for several years. The size is convenient for carrying in my briefcase. It provides enough space for jotting brief notes with an appointment, and includes weekends to note work or leisure activities.

It’s durable. It provides reference pages for holidays and for current/previous/next years, and has a comprehensive page for personal information. Walmart’s price is the best I have been able to find.

Brendon Burchard’s High Performance Planner, is exactly that! I’m three weeks into using it and I’ve already made huge positive change in my personal life and take steps towards big projects. The prompts you answer each day, really help you focus on what is important, and at the end of the day taking 10 minutes to answer and reflect on your day, makes all the difference.

I’d highly recommend watching Brendon’s YouTube video on his review on his planner, he shows you how he uses it and provides some explanation about why its effective.

I gave this planner five stars because it is as described, so I got what was expected, and for $9. Yippee!!! However, there are some features I wish it had that would make it perfect for me: 1) Thicker paper.

This paper bleeds through with some of the pens I like to use. 2) A pocket. From time to time, you have things you need to keep with your planner. Sadly, no pocket here. 3) Notes. There’s only one page for notes.

Over the course of a year, I need more than one page for notes. Overall, this is a good planner, especially for the price. I would buy it again.

There aren’t many July – June planners that are ALSO monthly-daily format. I needed a planner where I could see each month and have a full page for each individual day. In this planner, Sat /Sun is one page, but that’s fine.

The fact that the months are tabbed is ideal and the pockets are a nice bonus. It’s a large size, with substantial covers that won’t crease or tear, and a nice, heavy coil binding. If you need a planner with two-page monthly spreads and lots of scheduling space for each day, this is the one.

The price is also good!.

I was sad when my regular planner was not available this year. This one is even better! It is a great size to keep out on my desk and on the weekly portion, I have the space to keep business needs on one side of the day and personal tasks on the other side of the day.

This will be my new go to planner. I have already purchased one for another co-worker.

Feb 2020 impacted me in two ways that took my purpose away. I work in Health care and before Covid was labeled Covid we were (feeling) the ramp up. At the same moment I received the news that my father’s cancer had returned and even though we knew it was just a matter of time it didn’t hurt any less.

While I was standing side by side with the others fighting to help those infected with Covid I was also holding my head up trying to just keep moving. Jump forward Covid kept coming in bigger waves and Dad’s illness hit him fast and furious! He was rushed to another hospital and even though understood the visitor restrictions because we were under the same restrictions it was heart wrenching.

I kept moving forward not for me but for my work family and my family because that is what my father would of wanted. We finally got him released to come home and with in a few days he had past. I was there when he took his last breath at 2am and I still wake up at that hour and feel those emotions even today.

I’m sure it is obvious by this little snap shot that I have been lacking peace and purpose since that day. So in a desperate attempt to find myself again I ordered the planner. It was going to take a while to receive so during the waiting time I set a goal to listen to 100 focus on this pod casts before the planner arrived.

I not only achieved that goal but I continue to listen to that pod cast and the Lead to win pod casts. This has completely reset my mindset and has helped me find my purpose and the planner has helped my team because I have leveraged it to support my team.

So I know this isn’t a typical review but I wanted you to know how it has changed my life! Thank you.

I have used pretty much every paper planning system out there (Half-letter disc bound with inserts from Cloth & Paper and Etsy shops, Filofax 6-ring in every size, 7×9 coil planners from Erin Condren and MakseLife, all of the Hobonichi planners, travelers notebooks, bullet journal, etc.

). I purchased this Full Focus Bold Coil planner to use as my M-F work planner. My 3 basic requirements for a work planner: 1) must not take up too much room on my desk or in my bag 2) must have a daily schedule in 30-minute increments 3) must have a place to capture daily notes and tasks.

In addition to this planner meeting those requirements, here are my other pros, then some cons: PROS – White paper – Integrated goal system with habit trackers – Monday start weeks and months – Undated – Project list – Rituals view – Rolling quarters view – Day on two pages (really like having the daily notes page) – Narrow rule – Weekly preview pages – concept great, but see the Cons – Blank notes pages at the end – Back pocket CONS – Too much extraneous text.

For example, I wish it just said “Daily Big 3” instead of “Daily Big 3 – List your three most important tasks. ” – Weekly Preview missing from the first week (this makes no sense and was disappointing) – Weekly Preview missing notes section – I need a blank space to note some reminders that I may add in advance – Week overview page has days of the week centered – ugh – I want them left justified for aesthetics and so I can draw a line in the middle and create two sections in each day – Design of the Daily Big 3 – wish it was simply a set of lines – not the circles and lines.

– Colored blocks on monthly layout where the date is supposed to go – really not a fan of the way this looks and it gets in my way when I want to use transparent colored dots over the dates to signify certain things.

Also, they seem huge. – Choice of brown accent color. maybe it is supposed to be gold, but it looks more brownish or sepia. This accent color plus the colored date blocks in the month layout is an unfortunate combination and the month pages are my least favorite in the book.

– Monday-Sunday instead of Monday-Friday. I wish the Saturday pages were removed (would make the book thinner and easier to write in), the Sunday pages were blank dot grid or lined notes pages, and the monthly layout was M-F, leaving more space for each day.

I have found that there are no planners targeting a M-F work week exclusively and this is a huge gap in the marketplace and planner community, in my opinion. The good thing about the Full Focus planner is that the week overview splits Saturday and Sunday so more space is available for M-F.

I really like this planner! It provides a great, guided way to keep on track for my goals (work and personal). My biggest complaints with it come down to the actual physical planner itself rather than its contents.

I got the coil version and while the coil is nice, it does get in the way when writing too close to the center of the planner. This can make using parts of the planner a little frustrating. Additionally, I like using colored pens to color-code my days.

Ballpoints work just fine, but I have a preference for the Uniball vision gel pens and they definitely bleed. The paper feels nice, and it holds up to ballpoint pens fine, but gel pens are out. I’m only frustrated by that because I moved to this planner from a cheap one I picked up at a discount store, and the paper quality in my former cheap planner was much nicer than in this planner (that cost 4x the price).

Overall, the contents of the planner do make up for the physical flaws and I really enjoy it. I will likely continue to use it. I do hope to see some quality improvements in the future, though.

Love these Blue Sky Planners, have bought them for several years, however I gave this style a 4 star rating as it’s missing the 2 pocket file in the front (for loose papers). Not sure why this one doesn’t have, yet all others have in the past? This is really important to me so real bummer I won’t have for the year! I choose a different decor (design) each year and this was only difference.

It was just what I was looking for. It’s bright colored front makes it easier to stand out against my desk. Transferring events/projects from my old planner into this one was very easy. I liked it better than my planner from last year as it gives you a space in the daily area to write down any tasks that need to be completed which my old planner did not.

It allows me to be more organized than I was before.

I actually really love this planner! it has nice goal pages in the front, and several notes pages in the back. I also like that it has a monthly AND weekly calendar in it. and it’s sooooo pretty!!

This calendar is a little different from my 2020 Blue Sky calendar, but still excellent. The back cover is made of thick pink plastic, and the front features a heavy duty plastic clear pocket that would allow me to insert a photo in front of the floral print, if so desired.

It seems as durable as my old one with its frosted cover. It has faint lines across the monthly squares (same as my 2020 calendar,) but they are very faint and not a problem for me. One reviewer mentioned a problem with the dates for April 2021, but my calendar does not have that misprint, and I have not noticed any errors.

I always get a lot of use out of the overview near the front that shows an annual calendar for this year and next. Since I just bought it, the bonus extra months for June – December 2020 are not useful to me (plus I had a 2020 calendar already,) and I wish that instead it had a bonus month of January 2022 for preplanning, but overall I’m very happy with this calendar.

I have used F-C planners for about 25 years to plan, manage, execute and record activities in multiple roles in my life. I have tried at least 7 different planner styles over the years. Each one has strengths and (some) weaknesses.

For me, a progressive/multiple role system is the best to juggle the various roles and expectations in life, and I used the “7 Habits” planner for several years. However, I found that planner too cluttered, with wasted space (excessive color bars and photos) that seriously reduced writing space.

To compensate for the wasted space, ridiculously small micro-type was used that is almost illegible (even with good eyesight) all of which limited the usefulness of that system. The current system, “Carrara,” is much clearer with sensible type size and style and ample space to write and record important info.

It also features 3 months at a glance on the planning pages, as well as a space to record spending and other important info. , both very useful features. However, it lacks two great features of the “7 Habits” system: (1) the progressive/roles task list, and (2) use of contrasting colors.

The Carrara is blandly monochromatic, using faint grey ink (esp. hard to see on the monthly tabs). If F-C could combine the best features of Carrara with “7 Habits,” they would have a world-class winner! In summary, Carrara is a very useful, adaptable planner and a good value for the money, but one that could still be improved.

I have ADHD, so I get easily overwhelmed with tasks that neurotypical people find easy. And like many people living with ADHD, I’ve tried every product and service known to humankind to try to manage both my business and personal lives; most of which not only didn’t help, but they ended up making me feel even more overwhelmed.

Then I remembered the Franklin Planner that I’d used for my very first business in the 90s and how much it helped me to keep track of everything without stress, so I got another one and I am SO glad that I did! No more constant anxiety that I’m not going to be able to get projects done; no more feeling like there are so many tasks that they just slip by me; no more feeling like a failure for not remembering important due dates and client calls.

And what’s been most important for me is the fact that it’s not digital, so it’s right in front of me and there’s no digital overwhelm (and no temptation to hop on social media “just for a few minutes.

” I use the large Monarch size because I’m nearsighted and I want to be able to see and write things without straining my eyes. The larger size makes it easy to write a lot of notes for myself (when I’m talking with clients or when I get ideas) and it has space for both business and personal task items and notes.

I also like the large size because it can be laid open so that I can constantly see it, which makes me feel more confident throughout the day, like I’m not getting lost down some rabbit hole (anyone with ADHD knows exactly what I’m talking about!).

Everyone with ADHD is different, but if you haven’t tried these planners yet, I would strongly recommend that you give them a try for a couple of months. They have been a life changer for me!.

I have used various versions and sizes of the Franklin Planner since 1992. I’ve used other brands as well. I love the seasonal design and decided to go with the weekly format because I can see my whole schedule with one glance on two pages.

The first page before the week is a page for weekly tasks. I separate them under two headings; Tasks/errands and “office work” (which includes handling papers, emails, work done at a desk. ) On the weekly calendar I outline my appointments in red and my 2-hour working blocks in blue.

The 4th page is for weekly notes and this was the game changer for me. I saw a lot of wasted space in other daily formats, but now I jot down all my weekly notes on one or two pages and they are all together at one glance.

This weekly planner in the ring bound classic size is perfect for me with no wasted space and plenty of room to write with extra seasonal blank pages to supplement my notes. I am very pleased that I finally found my perfect planner.

I really love, love, love this calendar!! And am ordering it for the third year straight! It’s the perfect size, layout, and color for me!! I have used smaller calendars in the past but have found they they were easy to misplace or lose altogether.

This full size is easily found wherever I place it in my office! in addition, the page size makes it easy to write without cramping my hand or having to scale down the size of my writing. The layout is perfect because I can easily review my week at a glance, revise it, or make brief notes in the ample spacing.

There is also a terrific note section in back. And without a doubt, I love, love, love the lacy borders on the cover and on EVERY SINGLE PAGE! WHAT A PLEASURE AND A TREAT FOR THE EYES!!! Thank you AT-A-GLANCE! You make my year!.

I always get my best friend her appt book as one of her gifts. One that has hourly appts for days of the week and a sturdy front and back is difficult to find. This one did and had a touch of delicate flowers but still gave off a professional look.

It also had a clear pock folder in the front. Perfect for hair stylist receipts. She loved it.

I like the monthly and the daily view, together. The soft cover and pages are wonderful to use as something to write on or just to look at. I buy this product again and again, just usually with a different cover! :-).

I have been using this style calendar for decades and it fits perfectly with a busy lifestyle, personal and business. It lays flat on the countertop and you can see the whole week at a glance, with early morning activities through late at night in 15 minute increments.

I like the maroon colored leather-look cover. There is plenty of space to write notes each day. I would be lost without it, I have been looking every year for what is new and this is still my best option.

Also helpful is the last page which gives several years of holiday dates upcoming. Highly recommend!.

I can’t return this item because I need the organizer. So I will have to incur an additional expense and buy a separate little address book. If you look at my history of orders I always buy at a glance with the alphabetical phone numbers in the back.

This product is essentially perfect for me. I have it beside me every day for reference. I like the 8. 5 x 11 size, the 15-minute intervals for each day, and the nice sturdy cover. The calendars for the month preceding and month following at the top of each page, and the calendar for the next year in the front are also helpful.

The only minor suggestion would be to add some time for Sunday by deleting some time from Saturday. I compensate for that by putting some Sunday activities on the Saturday page. I have bought 2 copies per year for more than 10 years — one for me and one as a gift for a friend.

I have been using day runners for years. My last one is really wearing out and this one looked the same online. The binder rings are larger so it is larger in my hand. But the thing I am most disappointed about is that it is so stiff! I tried opening it up and putting heavy objects on it but that didn’t help much.

I am going to put it aside for now.

Needed to replace my old planner, so I went ahead and got another one. My old planner lasted me a long time to where the zipper messed up. So it needed to be replaced and pricing them was unreal. So I went on Walmart.

com, where I saw one identical to my older one. Went ahead and purchased it, hoping this one lasts as long. And any one wo knows me knows that I have my planner with me at all times, and would recommend this product to any one who needs to remember their appointments, love one’s appointments or friends.

Does have business card holders for someone who needs to keep there references.

I didn’t want an organizer that was going to be too big but I didn’t want one too small. The size of this organizer is perfect. I only use the calendar and directory so I make my own refills on excel.

The outside was a little stiff at first but I opened it up and made it lay flat and it worked out. The leather is nice also. It’s not as soft as I wanted but it adds a classy look. I purchased this organizer to use for church because I am the secretary but I like it so much that I use it for work and family also.

got a 2 year one last year, pleased this was available before Sept when they typically come out. Love it’s recycled. Did not read well to see it was a small size but ultimately glad it is. Usually get times already in each day which this does not have, again works out just as well.

Will look for one next year.

I love my HOD 29602 calendar and use it to keep track of all my business and personal appointments, birthdays and other important dates to remember. I am visual so still can’t get rid of my paper calendar and this one keeps everything at my fingertips from monthly pages as well as weekly pages with plenty of room for notes.

It has everything I need. HOD makes a fantastic product and all are 100% recycled with soy inks plus they are made in the US at their facility in Illinois. Thanks for making a great product HOD and for keeping jobs here!.

This is my second or third one page per day Day Designer. Good points are whole year in one planner, as opposed to only 6 months, hard cover, decent paper quality, and acceptable cover design graphics, though I wish there were more options.

( I could name a competitor) Inside pages designed very well. Spiral binding functions smoothly and is of good quality. Size is perfect. Things I wish would be changed: the month tabs are gold with white print, making them virtually impossible to read in many types of light.

The Day Designer logo is set smack in the middle of the cover, and quite large. I know where I got mine and inside, or delicately in the lower middle of the back cover would be quite sufficient. Others are not looking at the cover and racing to your website to buy.

; they ask me where I got it. The large logo is more than a bit ostentatious. Fix these things and I’d give you 5 out of 5 stars. If you let customers put their own initials on the cover and be able to add a few customized pages (such as fold out full year and following year calendar, or other small options that would still fit into the spiral I’d give you 6 stars if I could.

I originally put three stars, but felt generous and changed to four.

I just purchased the 2023 planner however I haven’t received it yet. But I have 3 DD’s from previous years and I love them. I keep my work schedule updated, all my appointments, and what I love most are the self assessment and goal setting pages.

3rd quarter is when I start reassessing my yearly progress. (Its also nearing open enrollment, end of summer, vacation planning & holiday planning season. ) Then i look to finishing my 4th quarter strong, and looking forward to next year’s goals.

This planner keeps me on target! And beautifully on target! In the pages before the assessment and goal setting, I create a vision board(sheets) so that I can see what my goals are when I open my planner and ensure daily I am staying on target.

Some days when goal setting is hard, i use the space as a journal entry instead. It’s nice to look back and see my progress over the year and any areas I need to improve. I get maaaad compliments on my planner.

My boss even went and bought one like mine. This planner is excellent. I love everything about it. I just wish that there were more design color options, more notes pages every quarter and perhaps a place to insert a pen.

The stickers, cover and coil look and material is excellent. The goal sheets are great. What this planner is missing are note pages, whether they are lined, blank, or graph, it needs note pages. While the beginning of each month has a monthly layout with a narrow note section, it could use a Month Summary page.

I was disappointed to see that there are no pages or accessories for this planner to even have the option to add that. In addition, because of the coil type I have had no success finding a third-party product that I could add in to meet that need which I do not believe is something only I would use or need.

It would be a game changer if a monthly summary page for notes, goals, focus could be added and at the very least be an option to add in.

There is something about this absolutely gorgeous planner that makes me so happy. The cover is a perfect cream color and the dividers are clean lines with the perfect amount of black, white and blush.

There are some small differences between these pages and the regular happy planner pages that makes it look very sophisticated. There is subtle foiling that is beautiful- even for those who do not love foiling.

I cannot wait to start using this planner.

I’m a college student who spent a veryyyyy long time choosing a planner because I wanted it to be minimalist but also have plenty of room on pages for customization, and I feel like this planner is absolutely perfect! There’s space on the pages to add stickers, fill the boxes with printouts, and add lotsss of lists.

It’s compact but not flimsy, AND it’s not super empty or too filled. Absolutely love this planner and would recommend it to anyone!.

I’ve been using my Work + Life planner for 2 months and it’s changed my entire world! I’m faculty at a college, so the minimalist design is perfect for work, but I can still be creative with my spreads.
