20 Best Timex Ironman Watch (2022 Updated)

Although referred to in ad descriptions as being “oversized” this Timex Ironman is about the same case diameter as many other Timex Ironman watches I have seen. I use reading glasses; however, the time, etc.

is very easy to read–even without reading glasses! I have included a photo showing how easy this watch is to set and there are lots of YOUTUBE videos on the Internet showing how to set Timex Ironman watches and even how to replace their batteries.

This watch is very lightweight (i. e. , comforable) to wear. Target provided super-fast delivery as well!.

I have had similar Ironman watches before, and I liked this one quite a bit. The band is comfortable, and adjusting it is not a hassle. Compared to other models I’ve tried, the numbers on the watch face are large and easy to read.

I think that it’s nice to have the large clock/stopwatch numbers above the smaller date/time numbers. The buttons, particularly the start/stop button, are large and responsive (but not too sensitive).

I could operate the watch even with mittens on, which is key for cold-weather training. I am also a fan of the functions of this watch. The 100-lap memory is more than enough storage for the serious endurance athlete to use.

The options at the end of the timer and interval timer make this a great watch for different types of workouts: you can choose to end the timer after one interval, repeat the interval, or start the stopwatch after the interval ends.

I look forward to experimenting with these settings during my workouts. I have only two issues with the watch. First: in another model I’ve tried, the alarm at the end of the timer has eight chimes, and the one at the end of the interval timer has just two.

These differences make sense because the timer is normally used for one interval, whereas the interval timer is good for multiple repetitions. In this model, the timer goes off with one beep, while the interval timer has eight chimes.

The alarm length on the interval timer is pretty annoying, especially when doing many intervals (which is the point of that function, right?) and having to hear the chimes go over, and over, and over again.

I also don’t know if I’d catch the single beep at the end of the regular timer. I feel like I’ll have to choose between potentially missing the start or end of my workout and going crazy after hearing hundreds of beeps.

My second complaint is that I couldn’t get the “Flix” setting to work. The Indiglo light is supposed to be activated by flicking the wrist when the nighttime setting is on, but I could not make the light come on no matter how much I flicked my wrist.

Besides these two problems, I strongly recommend this watch. It’s a near-perfect fit for serious athletes who don’t want to have to constantly look down at their wrists to see where they are in a workout.

Bought to replace a g shock I had for quite some type. Like that it is a little smaller profile than my previous watch, but has all the features you’d need (timer, stopwatch, alarm) and easier to read than some as it has large digits.

Maybe not as over built as a g shock: wondering if it will last as long. Maybe a hair overpriced is why I didn’t rate full five stars.

Great Watch: -Super comfortable watch! The most comfy I’ve ever strapped on. -I totally forget its on my wrist. -It doesn’t move around at all on my 6 inch wrist and that’s a first. -The locking tang on the strap’s tongue in genius! -I love the large, easy to read numerals.

This is better than on my G-Shocks for sure. -I really do like the programmable features more than on my G-Shocks. Easier to figure out and setup. -3 alarms are a big plus for me. They are louder than on G-Shocks; the Ironman alarms actually wake me up.

-I think the Occasions function is vet useful. -Make sure to download the instruction pdf from the Timex webpage. For some stupid reason they don’t include instructions in the box with the watch.

This is a pretty great watch. It has one pretty big issue,though. The mode buttons can’t be locked (on any Timex as it turns out). So when hubby is working, his wrist bends and he changes the time and date unintentionally.

If you aren’t a person who works with their hands, it’s a good watch. If you are a person who is a tradesman, etc, probably not, sadly.

Very nice watch, It’s what I was looking for. I Really like the velcro band. It’s easy to adjust and take off. The watch face is a good size. It’s nice and clear not to small or to big. The watch keeps it’s time very well.

The previous watches I have had decreased by a second about every day. Making me have to adjust the time,.

Great running watch. Thin, sleek and fully functional. Does everything I want. I like a simple watch that I can keep track of time with and this is the watch that works best for me. It comes in a variety of different colors.

I really like this gray with orange accents and the blue is stellar as well. Not bulky or cumbersome at all. The watch is designed to be minimal and comfortable while running, which is my primary use for.

Can handle the rain and all weather conditions thrown at it.

I have been wearing Timex Ironman Triathlon watches for about 20 years. That name describes a large number of different styled watches, all with the same functionality, clocks in two different time zones that you can switch between, a stopwatch, a timer and an alarm.

I’m a software engineer, so I set the second time zone to UTC, it comes in handy often. I use the timer for cooking and even the stopwatch comes in handy for timing the duration of drone flights. I have yet to see one of these watches fail, the only problem I have had with any of them was finding replacement bands, the resin bands break after 2-5 years.

For nearly all models you can’t just buy a generic watch band, it fits integrally into the watch case, almost like it’s part of the watch. The band is an extension of the contour and some mesh intricately.

I bought this one because of difficulty obtaining a band for my older one, of course. But I will say that the band replacement section of the Timex web site has greatly improved, I did eventually get a new band for my old watch.

now I have a spare.

Love these watches. I hope they keep making them forever. The battery lasts a couple years. By then its time to just get a new one. Great value. Good watch for the money. Im on my sixth one.

As a loyal Timex customer for decades, I recently purchased a “Full Size” Timex Ironman watch. In years past, I have worn Ironman watches proudly. Recently, I ordered a “Full Size” Ironman from the Timex website.

I was extremely disappointed to find the watch extremely small for my wrist. I thought ordering the “Full Size” watch would reflect a man’s watch to be worn on a man’s wrist. The “Full Size” watch that I received was more appropriate for a woman’s wrist.

So, I returned that watch for a refund. I would love to order an Ironman that reflects a man’s watch. So now, I’m looking at G-Shocks – something I really don’t want to do. Thank you for providing me the opportunity to express my feelings on this subject.

I have owned different versions (just different color combinations) of this Timex Ironman watch (T5K19x) for nearly thirty years, because they hold up extremely well to any use and even abuse I dish out.

I never take it off except for cleaning it or if I need to reach into a tight space, and I do all kinds of activities and labor, from DIY mechanic and carpentry work to handling rocks, firewood and lumber, landscaping, and even scuba diving (though they now claim it’s not meant for that- it’s water “resistant” to 200 meters instead of the old nomenclature water “proof”, but recreational diving is only going to be at a fraction of the stated 200 meter/656 feet max depth, anyway, so it should be fine, in all likelihood.

) These watches function perfectly for 8 or more years on their original battery, although I have found that once the case is opened to install a new battery, either one of the function buttons or the alarm sound are prone to stop functioning properly, so I usually just buy a new one when the battery dies, even though it still works, otherwise.

Even so, when you consider the relatively low price stretched over many years (usually less than $5/year), it’s a pretty good value in a watch you never have to give any thought about at all as far as pampering it.

And by thattime, the watch body is rather beat up and scarred anyway, although the recessed crystal face is well protected and rarely gets scratched. The weak point of these watches (as with most watches) is the plastic bands they often come with, but new bands are readily available.

One of the earlier Ironman watches I bought many years ago had a folding/snap closed metal “Ironman” branded band, and I have been swapping out the plastic or cloth watchbands on each new Ironman watch for that same metal band I’ve had literally for decades, and that combination has so far proven to be indestructible.

Of course, this requires the new watch to be the same classic style as the original Ironman, but I like the old style just fine and they keep making them. I hope Timex keeps making this style for many years to come, ’cause I’ll consider myself lucky to still be around to go through two more of these bad boys! As for ease of use and functionality, learning to use all of the many features is fairly intuitive, and the count-down timer, regular timer (either individual laps, if you need that) and the alarm all come in handy once you get used to having them.

If you’re looking for a watch that can take anything you’re kindly to put it through, this series of the Timex Ironman will serve you well.

After 84 years of life I have accumulated many watches. $200 400 and a $2,900. 00 watch, this IRONMAN TRIATHLON WATCH with the VELCRO STRAP is the ONLY one I ware. There is NOTHING more comfortable than this watch.

After purchasing one 14 years ago, I immediately purchased NINE more. One each for my Children and Grandchildren AND TWO more for me as I never want to be without this watch. Just wish I could get another Velcro watch band as one of mine just broke.

Watch is light-weight and comfortable and ideal for running/triathlon/HIIT training. Very easy to read display. Night-light illumination is clear. Watch is also accurate and keeps excellent time. I like the way the Month:Date can be changed to show Date:Month format.

Great for recording split/lap times for review. The interval timer is also useful when training. 5 alarms that can each be set for a single day, days of the week, weekends or daily. The model I bought doesn’t have ‘Flix’ function (light comes on with turn of the wrist).

This isn’t something I need, but it might be handy to check the model you buy if you need that function. Overall, a good accurate watch with useful functions.

I’ve had this watch 6yrs straight and the only thing that gave in was the strap. I worked as a dishwasher all those years and between the chemicals and hands always being in water, it held up all that time and the indiglo still works.

This is my second buy but only to have a backup for my first which is still strong today. I’d recommend this watch up and down. The alarms, timers, and stopwatch features make it easy to remember, keep track, and time workouts.

It keeps track of the exact second and date of each day which now that I’ve been exposed to those feautures I wont ever want another watch. Its seriously great.

This watch has it all. It is waterproof for swimming OR showers. I time things all of the time to make my life easier to stay on track. This watch has FIVE alarms to also help me remember important things without me having to keep whatever it is forefront in my mind.

It has a chronograph timer. The display is EASY to read in the daylight but also the indiglo feature helps to light things up in the darkness. Price is VERY reasonable. There is probably even more that I did not mention here, but I LOVE this watch!!.

Awesome watch and highly recommended. The Ironman Classic 30 series actually comes in two different case sizes, 38mm and 41mm. If you have larger wrists then I would suggest going with the 41mm. Both 38mm and 41mm versions have slightly different styling as well.

I have model T5E901 (38mm) and the all-black model T5K822 (41mm). Both are great but I wear my 41 size more often. I believe this model with the black/silver/orange lettering is the original color variation, model T5K821.

You can’t go wrong with either case size or any of the colors. Lightweight, low profile, easy to read display, accurate quartz movement, tough/durable, good shock resistance.

The watch looks great and functions work well for all of my workouts. Unfortunately the reversed light/dark face is very hard to read a lot of the time as it is too dark. In pool workouts or with polarized sunglasses it is particularly difficult.

I think they went for a cool look rather than functionality. I had seen this complaint way back on another watch but just didn’t pay attention when I made the purchase. That was my fault so probably just a matter of preference.

Overall, the watch meets the great Ironman functionality and value. My only, which is a big deal at someone approaching 60yo, is difficulty with the the display as it’s the reverse of watches in the past.

Now the actual numbers are lighter amd the background is dark. When there is glare or in the middle of the night, even with illumination, it’s more difficult to see than the opposite display or a light background and light display.

I’ve ordered another with the opposite display.

This is my 3rd or 4th Timex Ironman watch in about the last 30 years. I’ve been very pleased with all of them, including my current one. This is the first one I’ve had that has light colored digits on a black background, instead of black digits on a light background as in the past.

I think I like the dark on light background a little better, but not a big deal. My current Ironman is more stylish than in the past.

This watch is a replacement for my previous watch of the same model, originally purchased in December 2016. Due to Covid-19, my local Walmart store could not replace the battery. In attempting to replace the battery in my previous watch myself, I broke a plastic clip that holds the battery in place, rendering the watch inoperable.

I was delighted to discover that the exact same watch model was still available in April 2020 through Walmart. com. I love the features of this watch, along with its budget price. And it’s PURPLE! I use the stopwatch with lap timer on my daily walks.

I use the countdown timer in the kitchen all the time and I have not gotten a parking ticket for an expired meter since getting this watch. I have the alarm set for each weekday. I was thrilled to keep these same features and not have to learn how to use them.

It’s not the most impressive watch in the world, but it’s a very reliable watch, loaded with features but easy to use, and it’s an incredible value for the price. I highly recommend it.

I am on my 2nd Ironman Triathlon (women’s) watch. As regards the actual watch, I love it. However, the strap is frustrating. My strap on my 1st watch broke where the design narrows just below the clock face.

I came to learn that Timex does not make a replacement strap. Fortunately, MEC replaced the entire watch for me (kudos!). However, my 2nd watch’s strap has also broken in about the same place, plus the loop/free ring to hold the excess strap flat, broke off entirely.

I went to MEC to inquire as to fixing it – they weren’t able to help me, only suggested that I contact Timex. Frustrating as I do not wear this watch all of the time; I only wear it for sports activities and holidays/vacation.

Again, the actual watch is great, I’m disappointed that I can’t wear it because the strap is not so great (and broken). I would recommend this watch to a friend with a caveat that the strap may only last 1-2 years.

This is a brilliant watch for running and swimming, especially if you are doing interval training. You can set an interval time and rest time to repeat so that it counts your number of repetitions too.

I have one and got this one for my son. It’s fully waterproof and makes a good day to day watch as well as being useful for sport. The alarm is also good and can be set for different days and more than one time.

A good all rounder.

This watch is not as rugged looking as the larger Ironman Timex watches but it still of good quality. I use all my Timex watches as timers and this one is a bit more cumbersome to use. It still works as a timer but requires pressing more buttons.

Otherwise I would give it a 5 star if you don’t care about this feature. Can’t beat the price!.

After the band broke on my old one I bought a black one at local store for $40 + tax, decided to order this as a backup. I like the orange band and wear it more often than the other. The workings are exactly the same.

I ordered this watch through Amazon and when it arrived new in the Timex box, I noticed immediately that the Indiglo light did not work. When the button was pressed to turn on the Indiglo light the display went dark.

This was an indicator to me that the new watch was shipped to me with a weak battery. A couple of weeks later the display started going dark when the alarm or timer would turn on. I have been using Timex sport watches for many years.

I have also had other instances when I have purchased Timex sport watches from local department stores and the battery only lasted a short time. The weak battery issue in new Timex watches in now normal or expected.

A weak battery in Timex sport watches was something that never occurred 5+ years ago. Timex: Please advise why this occurred and recommend a solution to resolve.

As a loyal fan of the Ironman series I wanted to try this model and have not been disappointed at all! The face has the outstanding view of the time no matter what type of workout you’re doing. I felt like the operating buttons were actually easier to access than the other Ironman models I have.

The strap seems thinner so I’m hopeful it will hold up well as that’s the limitation I have experienced with some previous models. The overall feel and look of the T200 is great and it has become my go to timepiece for every workout.

I have worn IRONMAN watches for many years. The strap broke on my last watch, which I had owned for 8-10 years and if it weren’t for the fact that the strap was integrated into the body of the watch, and couldn’t be replaced, I would still own it.

That said I replaced it with the T200. Loved the design, the silicone strap, brighter face. My only complaint is that the crystal scratched after wearing it for only a week, and I don’t do heavy work.

The acrylic just doesn’t seem as durable as past models?.

I had the original non-indeglo version of this back in the 80s while in USAF doing a lot of road cycling, and swimming, the was accurate and took a beating I finally give the original to my father-in-law who was looking for a cheap dependable watch.

I was travelling to Africa and wanted to leave the more expensive watches I own at home so thought of the timex and its reliability. I am so happy they kept the original physical design as it is so well thought out and brings back memories.

I love the new upgrades to this version: the indiglo night mode, alarm modes. I originally picked up a G-Shock as a beater but do not like it, heavier than the Ironman, and too bulky. Even though the Ironman is slimmer than the G-Shock the design is still rugged enough for anything I want to do with it including construction work and rock climbing, also being slimmer allows it to slide under the cuff of a dress shirt pretty easily.

The mineral glass face is recessed below the rim so it is extremely unlikely to get scratched, after years of use my original was all scratch up around the rim but the glass was clean. I use the 2nd timezone to track GMT time.

I work as a programmer for an international company and the 2nd timezone feature comes in handy when scheduling deployments. The watch is very light too, and the battery can be self replaced. I have had this one swimming quite a few times and use it as a surf watch.

I still do a good bit of road cycling and MTB riding and use the watch as a backup to other data gathering devices. I have had this new version for 2 years now and it is still going I expect it to last many more years.

In the older days Timex would guarantee accuracy to +-15s/month but watches were usually around 5s/mo that guarantee has been very relaxed over years 🙁 this Ironman seems to be pretty good about +3-5s/mo so far.

I would definitely recommend this watch to someone looking for a cheap rugged reliable watch. I like the styling much better than the flat faced Ironman watches.

before I bought this watch I thought it was bigger but it’s perfect for my small wrist. It’s very light and soft. It has all the features that I like, chronometer , Nightlight, counting laps, overall is very nice.

About price I think it is well worth it, the last Iron Man watch I have last me 10 years without changing battery that it almost impossible but it’s true. I still have a little purple iron watch but I just want to change colors and style.

I do normal Run’s nothing fancy. I do go swimming sometimes and I have used it and works perfectly. I love the color and it’s very presentable when I’m not doing sports so it is very trendy. what would I change about this watch? maybe they gold color around the face of the watch it’s a bit too much could fade with time.

The watch is as expected. The band is very disappointing. It is a slippery/rubbery type material and the watch strap keeper does not stay on. The strap catches on everything. Not a good choice.

Had an older version on this watch that finally just gave out on me. Replacing the battery dod not work either. I really like the softer feel of the wristband on this one.

The ironman watch is everything I want: INDIGLO, date/time, stopwatch, alarm. I also really love this yellow color! However, Timex really needs to change the wrist band material because it’s impossible to clean.

After wearing it daily for a month, the band has taken on a dirty gray yellow color (due to dirt and sweat), and I can’t remove any of that discoloration despite multiple attempts and various cleaning agents.

In contrast, the plastic of the watch face is still the (pictured) bright neon yellow. If you go for the ironman, get the black color. Timex: please update your wrist band materials (somehow those white apple watch bands stay white.

I’ve loved digital watches since I was a kid, and been a big fan of Timex Ironman watches ever since I got my first one around 30 years ago. It had everything I needed, was waterproof, Indiglo to see at night, and my favorite feature has always been being able to see the date and the time easily at a glance, all the time.

This update of a classic was a welcome replacement to my last Ironman that died after many years of faithful use. Pros: flawless reliability, easy to read, improved Indiglo, I like the notch in the tip of the band with holes in it that keeps it under the other band.

Con: only problem I have with this watch is that after about 4 years of using it at the same wrist size, I wore a notch/crack in the resin that eventually broke and made the band unusable. Other than that this was the perfect watch for me.

Have replaced it with another Ironman. ;).

I’ve been wearing a version of this watch for 20+ years. My last one I had for 7-10 years and probably replaced the battery once but the band was still good which was suprising to me. I finally snagged the beat up bezel ring on something and it split in 2.

Without that to hold the start/split button in place I figured it was time for a new one. Was pleasantly surprised that Timex was still making the exact model so I didnt have to figure out all the buttons on a new model.

Will hopefully have this one for another 10 years. Good watch, very tough.

This is my 3rd or 4th ironman timex sport watch but each time it needs a battery change I take it to a reputable jeweller and it no longer is water proof and the battery dies within a few months. so frustrating as the watch.

even my wrist band is in good shape but the watch dies and this has happened each time! I really dislike having to throw away these watches. Why can’t someone recycle them? I own one of the very first wrist watches and it still works! (No it isn’t water proof and have a timer but they sure New how to make things 100years ago!.

nice enough watch, but indiglo light doesn’t light up enough so you can see it. Comfortable strap, but it’s so soft that it easily comes undone. A little disappointed in brand/style that I usually like.

Comfortable good-looking water resistant watch. Perfect for any outdoor activity. Hiking, cycling, gardening—it holds up and you can wear it in the shower when it’s time to clean up. I like having 2 time zones and the alarm feature.

I bought this watch a week ago and have fallen in love. Finally timex has made a watch that is both practical and beautiful. I also love that it is just a regular sports watch for an affordable price because lately there has been a huge disparity in the watch world.

Either you spend $500 for something that does way too much (in my opinion) or $20 for a piece of junk that does not look good. This watch is the perfect inbetween. I will definitely be buying another one.

I also never have to take this watch off when I shower or teach fitness classes in the pool. Now if it can stand the test of time I will be 100% satisfied with my purchase.

This product is only guaranteed for 30 days. I received this watch in late May, in September the band broke off the face. The pieces that hold the band to the face/body are plastic and broke (changing out the band would not have been possible).

I used this watch for daily use, nothing to cause such breakdown so early. Functionally, not the easiest to go between different alarms. Also a little bulky size wise. Taking the watch to the store was not an option, I was directed to contact Walmart.

com. Walmart. com told me to contact overstock. Overstock said since over 30 days, maybe talk to the manufacturer for repair/replace. Luckily I only spent about $40, I see now it’s listed for about $90!!–I do not recommend!.
