12 Best Tire Plug Gun (2022 Updated)

This product works great for removing and installing the valve stem from an inflatable tire. It also has a point on one end to let air out of a tire if you overfilled it. The Valve Stem Tool works great! It is well made and should last a really long time.

does what it is supposed to do. Solidly constructed, should last a lifetime.

Just the ticket to keep on the bike and in the shed. Easily remove a valve stem to do rapid drain on the tire or tube.

This sounded too good to be true, but a buddy said he’d used one of these, so I went for it. Watched a couple of videos, and it seemed pretty straightforward. I’ll point out 2 things about my experience.

1) the nail in my tire was pretty thin. This made ramming the tool and plug through the hole more difficult than average I think. 2) You will need to inflate the tire after the repair so plan ahead as to how you’re going to accomplish that when you can’t drive the car.

A good way to deal with a flat, especially if you don’t carry a spare like on a motorcycle. After following the procedure the plug still leaked air. A friend attempted a similar plug. Ultimately the tire needed to be dismounted and patched.

I cant tell you how many tires I have plugged with this kit. I’ve even used in on car tires. A bit of lubrication on the top of the plug makes it so much easier. I carry a little bit of lithium grease in an old Carmex container.

A few minutes later after adding air, I’m back on the road. Once you have air in the tire pull on the plug to get a a good seal. Wait to trim it until after the tire is pumped back up.

I’ve had to use this on two tire punctures now. The first time, it worked like a charm and I was able to ride long enough to get home and get the tire replaced. The second time, the plug kept working its way out and I ended up buying the rope style plug just to limp home.

The kit is compact and easy enough to use, but I am going back to rope style plugs.

I followed the instructions and it fixed the tire. The first plug didn’t have enough lubricant in the tool to come out properly. The second plug worked exactly the way it was supposed to. The only catch is that you have to read the instructions and follow them step by step.

I first used this tire plugger on my motorcycle when a friend let me borrow his. It worked great. Now I got one to fix my dad’s leaky tire on his car after two glue plugs did not work. It has held pressure after two weeks so far on the first try.

Have a friend ,who has one and he has used it several times over last 5 years to save more than one ride day from being a big problem. So it’s a must have ,for the touring rider.

Do not buy this, you will end up stranded somewhere and this won’t help. I had to use this last night, what a nightmare! The plug is very difficult to install, the hole you have to make in your tire is way too big and.

it will leak! That, if you manage to pump the tire with the supplied CO2 cartridge, because the hose that comes with the kit snapped after 2 seconds, therefore I could not inflate my tire. Wow. and they’re selling this for half the price of a brand new tire!!!.

Got a flat on my DL650 and while having both the Plugger Kit and air compressor with me, I ended up trailering my bike home. I never managed to push the rubber plug through nozzle into the tire. After fixing the tire the “old fashioned” way at home, I played with the plugger to make it work.

Here are my comments, recommendations: 1) While the enclosed rubber plugs have some kind of lubricant coating, I had to lubricate additionally the nozzle from inside and the head of the plug. I used Q-tip and silicone grease.

2) Even with the additional lubrication, pushing the plug through nozzle into the tire is very hard. You will need good pliers to hold the plugger body while turning the hex wrench and using lots of torque.

3) I suggest to make a mark on the hex wrench indicating the full in position, otherwise you will not know for sure if you pushed the plug all the way through. 4) In any case, learn how to use this kit in your garage and sacrifice one plug for a “test run”.

You do not have to do it on a tire, just try to push the plug through the nozzle so that you know what to expect on the road. All other steps when working on a tire are straight forward and simple.

This plug kit is very intricate and looks nice but the pluggs fail. I plugged three tires with this kit, two failed the next day and the other always leaked. A friend cold never get his to not leak.

This is a very good tire repair. If your tire has a nail or screw in it and the puncture is not over about 1/4 inch, you can actually repair it without even taking it off the car. Just roll the vehicle so you can see the nail (or whatever) and follow the directions, add air and you are ready to go.

Some kits come with air cylinders for filling the tire. Once I tried it and fixed three different tires that all worked, I bought two additional kits and keep then in the different vehicles.

Nice kit w/everything needed to plug several tires. It is a bit heavy, a consideration if packing for a trip. You could always remove some items. I haven’t actually plugged a tire, so I cannot comment on how effective the plugs are or the ease of use.

This is a good kit containing most of what you need to fix a puncture. You will need to add a small pair of pliers and additional c02 cartridges (or a mini bicycle pump). Fits nicely under the seat. Repair looks a bit complicated so a test run on an old tire is probably a good idea.

This tiny little capsule will repair most road side tubeless punctures and get you home. It really is small and light. One point, particularly for thin tyres, it is a heck of a lot easier getting the repair dart in if the tyre still has SOME air in it in order to have something to push against.

And it is also easier if you can ream the puncture first is they are pretty tight. I find them generally easier than “worms” to install.

I really struggle to get my tubeless tyres onto my rims and rode in fear of having do so at the side of the road after using a tube to repair a puncture the sealant could not handle. This piece of kit have restored my confidence in riding tubeless tyres.

My only qualms are why there is a metal plugging device included rather than another insertion tube and why the thicker worm, for larger holes, available with the Racer does not fit into the micro’s case.

Very small and light but has everything you need for tubeless repairs. I highly rate the Dynaplug cores – very easy to insert and they do a great job. I’ve used other soft rubber plugs that you push in but find they can break.

Can’t happen with the plugs.

I can’t tell you enough how much I prefer tubeless tyres. The benefits are numerous, if you do get a puncture that the sealent wont fix then with this little gadget will fix it without removing the tyre.

The plugs are like a worm of a gum rubber that simply push into the hole bond with the tyre and seal. So you can continue with your ride in minutes, would not leave home without it.

The Dynaplug Racer is a well built tool. Hopefully I’d never have to use on my tubeless tyres. But is small enough so there’s more chance you’ll carry it with you in case you need it. Only downside is the price, it’s a bit high.

Reviews show the sticky stuff is better than those bacon strips.

Not had to use it yet. Great idea, nice and compact. Fits into the smallest of spaces.

I had a screw in the tread of my front tyre, I was going to blow it up and take it to the local garage but spotted this kit on Website. The cost was similar to a single fix so I thought Id give it a try.

I removed the wheel to give better access and I think it would have been a real struggle doing this on the car. The hardest part was the removal of the screw which was embedded in the rubber, I found that the included pliers were not adequate and I had to get a pair of mole grips (locking pliers) to get a good grip and allow me to pull the screw out.

Reaming the hole was very easy, I then tried threading the rubber strip through the appropriate tool, I was wearing thin gloves and they kept sticking to the rubber glue making it quite difficult. Eventually I got it centred and pushed it in to the hole in the tyre.

One quick pull and the handle came off the tool, luckily a hex key was provided so I was able to put it back on and get it tight. Another good pull and the tool came out leaving the plug embedded in the tyre with a bit protruding.

I waited a few minutes, whilst I packed away the kit and then cut off the excess. I did test it with some soapy water to ensure it wasnt leaking and all was good. I know that this is supposed to be a temporary fix but I bought this set in July and the tyre is still inflated at the end of Sept so Im just going to leave it as it is.

Overall this is an excellent kit but if you buy it, you should upgrade the T-handle tool that actual pushes in the plugs. My tool broke the first time I used it (see photo). The cast T-handle is poorly designed and fractured where the shank meets the handle.

That said, I completed the repair and the tire has run hundreds of miles. Ive now purchased a solid steel T-handle from Sherco-Auto (search Website for “sherco-auto”). Happily, the Sherco-Auto T-handle accepts the “needles” from the Boulder Tools kit, giving me a total of 3 “needles”.

A little know how can save your day. The Boulder Tools tire repair kit has everything you need to get that tire back in action (at half the cost of the bigger named suppliers). The ream and plug set are all aluminum and extremely sturdy.

The kit is very well supplied with everything you need to plug a (or many) punctured tire(s) (recommend an air pump), everything is contained in a sturdy plastic carrying case. I have likely plugged other peoples tires much than my own, but on road or offI would always have one.

Plugged up my new 4runner tire that only had 5 thousand miles. 5 thousand miles not a single tinie mini kiki spit of air. THEY HOLD AIR !!! Supposed to be temp fix, but I am leaving the plug in if no leaks.

I also carry these on my trail atv rides.

I have used these plugs a couple of times to repair a major hole or sidewall cut. You stuff as many as will fit in the hole and on a low pressure atv tire there is a good chance they will hold air for about 15 minutes, enough to limp you back to your pick up.

I have also used they to fill nail holes and they work great and in most cases last the life of the tire. -m-2016 POLARIS RANGER RZR 900 TRAIL–.

I bought these to carry in my Polaris RZR and have used them on my Wife’s Trail Blazer, my Yukon and everything under the sun, but my RZR. I have used nearly 10 plugs and not 1 has every failed to seal.

In fact, they are all still holding today. Buy these for great piece of mind.

Wasn’t sure where to install the batteries but figured it ot, the supplied brief instruction sheet said you remove some bumper cover. this was referring to the rubber thing that covers the top. If u lift it up, you can see it is removable and exposez where u put the batteries, which is housed under the red bit with the brand name.

I then tried it on my tyre as per instructions, but all it seems to do is read my tyre pressure when attached. The when I try to inflate as per instructions, it deflates the tyre. it says if u pull the lever halfway it will deflate but I don’t know how I grab/hold the lever the full way when it starts touching the back if the tool.

I guess I’m using it wrong or chuck is not fully on? Thus my problems. I will go to my local bp that’s just 1km down the road when tires are cold, so they shouldn’t warm up that much. then see if I can get this too to inflate and have the bp tyre inflator on hand for backup so I don’t end up with a flat tyre abd undrinkable car.

I should of got the more expensive e tool as I guess you can set a psi to inflate to so it will work better for dunces like me. this tool isn’t really idiot proof or for beginners!!.

I purchased this primarily for motorcycles which often have difficult to reach valves, and after trying various solutions (elbows etc). I was pleased to find it can be used as is, attaching securely to the valve stem and providing a a great inflation action.

Very pleased as I can do away with the other two inflators I have a various adaptors. For accuracy it compared to within 0. 5 psi with a stand-alone tester, so I won’t be bothering to use that either!.

I’ve been messing around with tyre inflators for a while but hadn’t found one with the accuracy I wanted. This inflator fixes that. With the compensation figures from the calibration I can be confident I am inflating my tyres to the exact pressure I want.

This is important for high performance road motorcycles.
