20 Best Tires For Grip (2022 Updated)

This is my second set of Thunderer tires that are on my f350 4×4. My first set had over 60k miles. When I had the first set I was in WA state in the snow and mountains. They did amazing and I drove cross country with a 15k trailer twice.

Now Im in Texas and have a 1 mile black clay road leading to my farm. When it rains it gets super muddy so bad you cannot get through with out 4×4 and a good set of MTs. This tires destroy the mud! Leaving beautiful deep ruts and propelling my truck flawlessly! For the price there is simply no competition! I use my truck daily not a pavement princess.

Its a work horse and these tires make it happen! Definitely a great buy!.

I have these 285/75r16 Thunderer Trac grips on a 02 2500hd duramax. I had Coopers and Duratracs prior to these tires. So far traction and handling with the Thunderers is better. The place that mounted and balanced these tires said they balanced very well and they expected them to use more weight than what they needed.

With these being a MT class tire I was surprised at how quiet they are. I dont notice much difference in road noise between these and the Duratracs I had. If these tires wear well and I can get a decent amount of miles out if them then I will continue to buy them.

Ive had these tires for about a month now and have put right at 4500 miles on them on and of road and am very happy with their performance. Great on the highway. Ive had them to 90mph with no problems and they are excellent in the mud and really good in the rain also.

They do howl a little but nothing crazy. But overall Im extremely impressed with them and will definitely buy the same ones again.

If I could give 6 stars I would. 2014 Jeep Jku. I bought the Jeep with these tires (brand new) with 30k on the Jeep. 35×12. 50R17 When I saw the tire I thought. great. These are junk. Gonna have to spend $1500 on better tires.

Welllll. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I currently have 83k on the Jeep and there is about 6/32nds left on them. I’m looking at a new set bc of the slight dry rotting on the tires, but I’ve taken the Jeep off road, on the beach many times, aired up, aired down, in the mountains, and on the highway in the rain and snow.

Man. These are really impressive tires. I think they are great in all weather and temperatures. I do mostly highway driving at about 65-70 mph daily and they’re slightly noisy. not gonna lie, but I get the Jeep aligned once annually and I rotate every other oil change (which I do myself) and I got 50k out of these tires!! Getting another set soon.

This is my second purchase of these tires and I couldnt be happier! My first set was on a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD crew cab short box with the 6. 0 Vortec engine, and I had almost 40k miles on them when I sold the truck with plenty of tread left, they are great off-road with plenty of grip, mildly loud on the street but not annoying at all, and look great! My current set is under my 2008 Dodge Ram crew cab long box with the 6.

7 Cummins diesel. Ive only had them on for a few weeks but have no issues with them so far. They handle the weight of the ram without problem, and the extra torque from the diesel is no problem. Ive used them off road deer hunting and they grip amazingly well.

I highly recommend these tires. You wont find a better value. For under $700 for the set when my local tire shop didnt have anything for less than $1400 that even came close to these, I couldnt be happier.

Will buy again and again.

BB Wheels was very good about letting me know when my tires would ship, and keeping me informed. I appreciate that. The tires themselves are okay, although they required a LOT of weight to balance properly – about 5oz per tire! If you buy these tires do yourself a favor and have them siped.

So you say you honor manufacturers warranties? Well this tire is supposed to be a 50k tire and after 5,000 miles already 75% worn out. Beware they make it so difficult to even consider applying for the “warranty”.

You need alignment paper work which is roughly $140 THEN they only pro-rate the tire. They suggested to me to buy another set and send the original set back and if Goodyear deemed they were defective they would PRO-RATE and issue a refund of how much tire life is left.

They purposely make it impossible to obtain the warranty and I am in the middle of going ahead with a lawsuit which they will be summoned soon. Luckily my father is a lawyer so we are just going through the motions but it will happen.

Whether I win or not doesn’t matter but at least I’ll have some satisfaction in wasting their time and money just like they wasted mine. Nowhere on their website does it state EXACTLY what you need to do to maintain the warranty which is where they are going to lose.

I didn’t even get to the point where I was supposed to rotate the tires and I already did once around 3,000 miles and the alignment needed no adjustments. They suggest rotating at 5,000 miles. Lawsuit has been filed and Tirebuyer should expect it soon.

I have ALL supporting documents and had them installed at a Tire Buyer authorized dealer. Looking forward to seeing you in court Tire Buyer!.

I bought a 2018 Honda Accord Touring new with these tires. I drive pretty tame in Kansas. flat. no curves. I do a lot of gentle engine breaking and with a CVT there isn’t much exciting about 0-60, so these tires live a boring life.

The car lives in a garage too at night. I got about 35,000 on the original set and decided to replace with the same tire. I am at 68,000 and it appears I am about 4-5k miles from a third set. I used to run Goodyear Assurance Comfortred’s and get the advertised mileage (80k) in older Accords when I used to travel highways all the time.

I think 45-50k would be realistic on these tires. 35k just seems low. Also, once you get down to about 4-5mm of tread depth, the noise really picks up.

I have them on my brand new CRV Touring from Honda dealer and @ 20,000 miles the tread is 3/32”. They need to be replaced for safety concerns. Tried to get prorated replacement through the dealer and both Hankok and dealer refused as they indicated its normal wear.

I have never replaced tires on a brand new car @20,000 miles. This is not normal!! I have the right pressure always and the car is garaged. Don’t recommend them. They don’t last and i’m wondering how they advertise that they last for 70,000 miles.

Kinergy GTs came as original equipment on our 2015 VW Passat. They are great tires – excellent wet traction, great dry road handling, quiet, good ride. They transmit road conditions well through the steering wheel – you know if you’re about to hydroplane, or slide in snow and ice.

They were good tires in ice and snow the first winter, but by the second winter, the siping had worn enough that they had lost their edge on ice, so we got winter tires to go with them. Right back to the Kinergy’s once the snow melted, though.

At 50,000 km, they are nearing replacement, so not the longest lived tires – but so good that my wife insists they be replaced with another set of Kinergy GTs.

Ordered this to replace a flat tire I got. Could not be fixed drove over a bolt. This was a replacement for my 2018 Hyundai Tucson tire. Fast. free delivery. Just had to find a place to mount and balance for me.

One of the muffler shops did it for me. The price with free shipping and balance/mounting was still worth it. Will definitely recommend to others and come back again.

The tires themselves seem decent, but installation is a nightmare. I went to my local store on Friday and they were busy, so I scheduled a Monday appointment. On Monday, I show up on time to have the tires installed that were delivered to me.

The rep goes outside to look at my vehicle and the tires purchased from Walmart. He says my inspection is expired and they can’t install. So I said that’s why I am getting new tires, I can’t get an inspection without new tires.

Now if they told me this on Friday when I went to the store to make my appointment and they looked at my truck then, I could have removed the wheels and put them in my van and brought them to separately to be installed.

Because if the wheels aren’t on a vehicle they will install them. So they wasted my time. They use this as an excuse because what you have is a bunch of lazy employees that prefer to hang out and smoke weed rather than work.

They will look for any excuse not to work. As somebody who does all their own mechanical and has also owned a business for 22 years, I know when somebody is making excuses. I went over to STS Mavis Tire and Auto right after leaving Walmart Farmingdale NY and STS Tire.

Mounted on a Chevy Colorado 2WD. I am located in SW Colorado so my needs were snow, sand, and long gravel roads with sharp rocks. The tires have a wide/proud stance. Great side wall protection when aired down.

I really like the shoulder pattern as I feel it will last. They have abundant siping in all directions for winter grip. Just spent the weekend with them in Butler Wash, Utah were we established trust.

No road noise or noticeable fuel milage loss. I feel they are a well built tire. They have an aggressive look as well as getting the job done. *Made in the USA.

Got these babies as recommendation of my Mazda dealer. I cannot compare this to anything else as I haven’t driven on any other winter tires. But they do their job pretty well. Starts on ice as well or better than AWD cars beside me, stops on ice twice faster than cheap all season tires.

On the snow feels like on the asphalt. In general pretty confident ride in very bad conditions. Drove it through mountain passes, snow storms, pure ice, fast highways for 3 years and very happy with how they perform.

There is still about 80% tread left after 50000 – 60000 km on them. One negative thing – compare to mine all season OEM these guys are pretty LAUD. But they are also pretty grippy :D.

When I see people sliding all over the place, I think they’re simply not prepared. If they had a set of these on their car, they wouldn’t be sliding! Braking performance is the biggest gain you will notice with this, but acceleration from a complete stop is much easier on all frozen surfaces as well.

So far since I have installed these on my fwd 2008 cobalt, we have had freezing rain that glazed the road, and several snow storms. Driving on those road with these tires is still something you need to be cautious of, but these will provide much more confidence.

Fantastic tires. My only other winter tire I have ever owned was Hankook winter iPike’s (I have owned many sets on various vehicles) and overall they are superior to these goodyears, but these are much less expensive and are a good compromise.

I recommend them.

Very satisfied with this tire to date: only @ 3000 miles. Special application- summer season only on a 1968 XK-E with significant improvements, including 6” wide Dayton Wire Wheels, Wilwood Ventilated front rotors and Koni Shocks.

Handling is excellent, only dry driving conditions.

Researched a lot of tires and this tire just just meet all my expectations. Very affordable from Dunlop (inventor of tubeless tires). USA company based versus Korea branded tires in the same price bracket.

Michelin are just too over rated for a vehicle that has over 100k and over 10 years old. When I has Walmart install the tires, they did a great job and the tire are Made in Japan, just like my Honda Accord it was installed on.

Tread wear numbers are great and the bi-directional tires, so I can rotate the tires in any position to get the maximum wear. Buy it. you won’t regret it for this price.

I didn’t buy here, but the reviews of these tires are very bad on other sites, and I’ve owned these tires on my Mazda06 for three years, only put on 16,000 miles and they are at 3/32nds, need to be replaced.

The tire is good in dry, mediocre in wet, and poor in even light snow. This tire will hydroplane worse than any tire I’ve ever driven on. Strongly avoid if you have the 19 inch version, as they wear out very fast.

Decent in the 17 inch variety (spoke with the dealer about this).

I replaced Goodyear Z rated tires on my 2002 35th anniversary Camaro with these and I absolutely love these tires. Superior dry or wet weather performance and lower noise. I havent driven it in the snow yet but they are great and the Delivered Price for 4 was $288.

00!! Not apiece, for all 4. They’ll be going on my 2006 Audi Cabriolet & my 2002 Mercedes CLK Convertible next. Ohtsu is owned & manufactured by Falken, you just don’t get the expensive price. Look for the tread rating (compound), load rating and temperature ratings when choosing an appropriate replacement tire for your car-based on 2 things: what came on it from the factory & what you want to achieve.

I drive for a living (sales) so I often encounter Unexpected weather conditions, you need to be prepared for anything. All of my cars are convertibles so low noise is needed & I drive hard & fast. Ohtsu meets all of my needs.

I just can’t get over the price! I’ve paid more for ONE tire on my Mercedes before & this odd size, 245/50/16 is darn near impossible to find. I hope this helps~.

So let me start off by saying these tires are great and have purchased these in the past for my other cars. The reason for my 4 star rating is due to the shipping time. I absolutely hate FedEx and their shipping times.

I’ve always had bad experience with them, even before this whole COVID. It took almost a month. And what made it it worse is that each tire got shipped out at different times and a whole bunch of delays.

But other than that tires are great. Just wish they would change shippers.

Purchased these for my 2009 Ram 1500 in November 2020. Southern NY seasonal roads get slippery, Muddy, and snow covered in the no matinence months of the year. The roads were no match this winter for these tires.

Got me to and from all my favorite hunting spots and pushed threw that big storm this winter with snow going over the hood of my truck. No problems. The Best tires I have ever ran on a truck. Some road noise when on the black top but gotta expect some noise with treads like these.

Its end of March 2021 with 12,000 miles on them with 90percent tread still. Truck and tires hooked to a 4000lb dump trailer with 2 yards of mulch. The thunderers are holding strong! Only tires Ill ever buy again for my trucks.

Cant beat the price ither!.
