20 Best Tires For Miata (2022 Updated)

These tires are great! From dry and wet performance to great handling characteristics provide excellent steering response and car feels planted to the ground at all times. First time using Continental and I’m glad I chose these tires based on many other positive reviews.

Previously running Toyo HP II and these are more quiet, grip much better in dry and no hydroplaning and provide a sportier ride. I have these on my modified 13′ Accord with Tein coilovers and 18″ aftermarket wheels with factory tire size 235/45/18 and it handles so good now! Lastly, I really like the wear indicators – there are 3 blocks on 3 different areas on the outer tread blocks so you can monitor tire wear which is a great way to keep track of alignment or other suspension issues.

For the price I think these are great tires and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for solid performing summer tires.

I came to these tires from the goodyear eagle sport. Mainly to get a quiter more comfortable sport tire. It is quieter and more comfortable. Grip is just crazy in the dry. I rarely set off traction control with these.

Wet performance was also superior to my previous tire. So you would think based on that it would be 5 stars. Well heres the thing at 20k miles in im at 3/32 wear. So i got half the warrantied life. My eagle sports gave me every mile of that 50k warrantied life.

Its a good tire and if you dont drive much maybe 10k a year it’ll be good for you. That said if i did it all over again i would have went Michelin because they’re obsessive about tire wear life.

255/35/20 > I expected with a short sidewall that they would be precise and agile. Unfortunately they’re more like driving around on gummy bears. Even with them over factory pressure, there’s substantially more body roll and a decrease in steering precision on high speed lane changes.

Despite: This is a fantastic rubber compound and tire construction. Perfectly balanced (so far) full range to high speed. VERY good traction and despite their floaty nature, they’re predictable and trustworthy to drive hard on.

I love these tires. They’re really quiet, light, and they bite the road. It feels like my driving on air. My car feels significantly different compared to my last set of tires. Plus side to these tires, they have a nice flat side wall that’s flush on my 1st gen xB sides.

Looks sharp having that full boxy look. Got me loving driving again. Definitely recommend and will buy again next time.

This is a summer ultra high performance tire with great traction on dry or rain covered roads. Not intended for use in winter where snow occurs. Rated for speeds up to 168mph with a 400 tread wear rating.

Quiet while driving at highway speeds and around town. Quicker steering response and takes bumps well. What more can you ask for?.

These tires are not really the width I expected. I expected 235 to be the tread with or close to it. But apparently this is the total width (section width) including the sidewall. Even then, that width would depend on what rims they were put on.

The sidewalls bulge a fair bit and the tread width from memory was less than 215mm. They seem to grip well. Reasonably priced but they would want to be given they are a fair bit narrower than other brands with the same specs.

Only had these a short while so I don’t have enough experience yet to give a 5 star rating, but looks like they are great tires so far. If nothing changes, I’d give them the maximum rating as general all season tires.

The steering feels noticeably lighter and turn in is quicker on my Honda Accord. Overall, traction is very good in the dry and rain – no snow experience yet so I can’t comment on that. There is a little tire “whine” at 60 -70 mph, but some other reviews have said this noise gets less with more miles.

I already have noticed it has decreased in just a few hundred miles. In any case, that noise isn’t worse than the original factory tires. I also need to replace tires on another of my vehicles soon and like these well enough that I plan to buy another set of these tires for that car.

I liked the tread design and the overall appearance of the tire. 65,000 mile warranty is also very attractive. Funny thing about me is that I don’t want what everybody else wants I want something unique high quality for a brand name that can be trusted hence Yokohama was my choice.

I would highly recommend them. I did a lot of research before I chose this tire and I haven’t found anything xmatch all the benefits that come with only a set of four.

I have been using michelins int he past, for my BMW M2 and they are great, BUT – very expensive and they wear like crazy. Not good. I came across there INDY 500 for my new Tesla 2 years ago and absolutely loved them all the way! For reference I am using 265/35/19 for My Tesla Model 3 and they do fit and work GREAT! Tesla has so much weight and torque that it absolutely known to eat through tires, however indy 500s stood super strong against daily electric abuse! Performance is indistinguishable from Michelins PS or PS 4S etc.

Same but cheaper and WAY better wear.

I purchased these 3 yrs ago before they hit Canadian Tire shelves and the summer performance is the best bang for the buck I’ve found in years. And now that Canadian Tire has them it’s even a better buck for the bang! Highly recommend these tires for summer! They allow me to drive my FWD sport sedan to its limits with stability and confidence and in those moments I pushed it over the limits and break lateral traction they still allow for superb recovery control and retraction grips back quick and solid! Again highly recommended.

Having these 2 front tires on a GTI will get you about 14,000 miles/ 14 months when driven properly. Even when low on tread they stick in the rain better then tires the VW dealership had on. Michelin tires that cost nearly 3x more are squishy upon exiting turns, they hydroplane at a earlier life and only last 11,850 miles.

It’s a no Brainer if you love getting good launches off the line in the summer days or on the cold rainy nights.

Far as tire it’s great, mounted and balanced easily. Price and shipping combined was alot lower then going to the local tire shop to get them. Shipping was fast got them within a few days of my order.

This is my 2nd order from them, different vehicle though.

We bought a used Hyundai, I told the dealer until you put new tires on the car, no deal. They put these shoes on it. No real complaints. They grip well in the rain, no kidding much better than Yokohama and continental tires I’ve had.

When you shipped these, you did not specify a broker at Canada Customs- product sat there for 2 weeks, missed the last drag race of the season. ETA on the website was WAY shorter than the actual delivery.

Look and feel great going down the strip. The small size helped tighten up the turning radius on my s-10 with fenderwell headers. Requested roll out measurement to be the same and was within 1/8″ once mounted at Max psi.

I bought these tires to replace my old set of ET fronts. Et drag tires hold my Duster during the burnout and staging without slipping. The tires track straight and stop great at the finish line.

Overall, probably one of the best all season tires available for 195/50/15, where there really arent many options. I drive in the mountains through all weather conditions with a modified 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage.

When new, they do exhibit an odd lag between steering input and the car actually turning. However, the grip definitely is there. They havent complained at all with spirited mountain driving. If you want immediate steering response, stick with a summer tire.

Wet cornering traction is quite good. I can confidently keep up a brisk pace in the rain, but I still get occasional wheelspin leaving stop signs, but they’re solid in the corners. They hold up very well through various temperature ranges, even the cold rains in the spring and fall.

Light snow traction is good, but I have a set of dedicated winter tires for the heavy stuff. The Hankook Ventus V2 Concept2 set I ran before were downright sketchy in the rain, but somehow had an AA traction rating, but had better steering response.

Downside is they wear quite a bit faster than I’d expect, but I do run them hard. If you need confident traction in all conditions, including in those transition periods where it’s too cold for summer tires but too warm for winters, this will get the job done.

So far, these have been the best performing tires I’ve had on our Honda Fit Sport. This year’s winter has been one of the snowiest and coldest on record. and these tires have exceeded what I ever expected.

Very nice riding and grippy. The car doesn’t seem to slip on the ice as much. Last year’s trip to Duluth went off without a hitch, as these tires handled the twists and turns of the North Shore just fine.

Great in rain too. We’re really good at regularly maintaining our car, so I’ll keep an eye on what the other reviewers we’re saying about sidewall bulge. I have faith in these and would DEFINITELY recommend them otherwise.

These tires are a great fit for my 03 grand am. We have only put a few thousand miles on them so far and they have held up well. They do well in the rain and are excellent in dry conditions. I am a aggressive driver and like to test the limits of the tires to know where my limitations are.

I dont have many concerns with these tires on sharp corners as they grip and hold tight and dont let go. I love the value for what you get. There is a little more tire noise than I would prefer but its livable.

I purchased a set of “new” tires, knowing that they were from a 2012/2013 production cycle, so “new old stock”. When I received the tires, there was evidence that the tires had been spun, as some point prior to delivery to me.

Tread had lateral scratches across tread, none of the “knobs” were left on the contact patch surface and there was tire/rubber “dust” in between the treads. Trying to reach anyone for support via the phone is a joke.

Tried multiple times, on different days, without ever getting in contact with anyone. Email response time was much better. Expressed my concerns and sent pictures of the tires, still bound, as I had received them.

Priority Tire swore that they are “new” tires, despite all of the points I mentioned above, clearly visible in the pictures I sent. The only saving grace is that they offered free return shipping labels and a full refund of my purchase price.

I would recommend asking the obvious questions before purchasing, assuming you can get hold of someone.

The best tires on the market for cars with 400+ horsepower. I have a Camaro 1le SS and my car is stuck to the road no matter the pavement or weather. Tons of grip. Easy to spin tires when lots of horsepower at the wheels but not with these tires.

Chevy cars deserve these tires if you love your car and your everyday car experience. I’ll always buy them for my Camaro life.

first set of these. i will say im really impressed, dry traction is excellent ! normal driving and spirited cornering is better than i expected. for the price i cant say anything negative about these tires.

i got the 225/40/18 and road noise is very minimal for a 40 profile tire they are comfortable. handled like a champ in the rain. i really like these tires. i will buy again no doubt !.

Great tire and size for the use case tire was purchased. Tire was purchased for a lowered VW Pickup with 15inch Corrado Steelers. Perfect match for a lower vehicle of this type. Minimal gap between outer diameter of tire and outer wheel well flare.

Gives the vehicle a great look as well as decent ride for a lowered vehicle of this type.

We purchased some new rims for our 1997 Jetta GT and needed some new tires. After doing some research and calculations, we found that we needed 205/50R15 which is an odd size. We called around to a few local places and even some larger tire stores and all of them didn’t carry that size in any tire that had a decent brand molded on the side.

For the low price of $219, all four tires were shipped to our door in three days. These have a “V” speed rating allowing them to sustain speeds of 149mph and thus making them handle very well at lower speeds.

We did some hard braking when it was raining last night and they gripped the road very well IMO. Miles will show how well the deep tread pattern wears. We had an alignment done by Big O Tires prior to mounting the new Federals.

You will have to pay to have the tires mounted on your rims but this should only be about $15/tire if you look around your area.

The Toyo R1R is a well rounded tire. Works great in dry AND wet! In the wet, this tire outperforms many others within this treadwear range. Wet traction is important to me and one large reason I seek this tire.

The R1R communicates well without snap breakaway. Limits of adhesion are met with a smooth transition. Experiences on and off the track have provided confidence in the robust construction of this tire.

Whether is be road potholes, curb hopping at the track, drifting, or sideways dirt adventures, these tires have held up. Currently on my third set of these R1R’s with combined road/track/dirt use and I’ll keep coming back.

If a connected feel is important you, this is a strong contender!.

If you having an issue skipping between gears, this wont happen any longer. I used to spin 1st through 3rd. Now its pure grip and pulling power. Went from Proxy 4s to R1R. Very Pleased with the grip and performance.

These tires lasted and handled equally to the Hankook RS3 and Rival S that I’d used previously on my RX8. I had to stop using them when the SCCA and most clubs moved to a 200utqg wear tire standard. I’m now trying out the Toyo T1 Sport with 240 utqg rating.

They appear initially to be at least equal to the Michelin Pilot SS which costs a great deal more. I have high hopes for the T1’s from my previous excellent experience with the R1R’s doing extensive autocrossing.

If I get 3000 miles out of a set of tires and 150 autocross laps I am happy with that as it’s one normal yearly season here in FL. These tires wore very evenly right down to the wear bars and I only had to rotate them once.

When new they got a slight curling on the leading outside tread block but that soon wore away. Assume it’s from heating in 90F on hot concrete. Might be wise to shave for track use?.
