Michelin CrossClimate 2 CUV Tire 235/60R18
Rigid central tread blocks resist braking and acceleration force, promoting improved wear.
Shoulder tread blocks improve handling while cornering.
The CrossClimate? is Michelin’s Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, station wagons, crossovers and SUVs looking for daily driving comfort combined with confident performance in dry, wet and light snow conditions.
The CrossClimate? meets industry severe snow service requirements and is designed to be a one-tire solution for drivers in environments that experience all four seasons, but don’t receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.
An excellent all-season or winter changeup tire for almost any application where rain, ice, and moderate snow are factors (a legitimate ‘snowflake’, 3PMSF) while maintaining confidence at high speeds, and enhancing certain performance characteristics such as cornering and braking.
I just ordered the CrossClimate2 to replace a pair of CrossClimate+ on my [FWD] Mazda, not needing to consider another tire, as I recently chose a set of CrossClimate2 on my [AWD] Lexus IS for the new winter set and I could not be happier with them.
You do need to be attentive and work them in properly during the break-in period, as they can be a little loose during that break-in. If you do break them in properly you will have a better chance of being a satisfied Customer, this is true with just about ANY tire.
I suspect some of the complaints around these either do not understand that break-in approach and/or received poor advice – or no advice at all, from their Installers. As far as gas mileage and road noise comments go I would disregard those as the performance and safety of these tires far exceed any inconvenience in those areas, I’ve had dozens of different tires on similar vehicles and these are neither loud nor inefficient gas-wise, long-term.
I gained back my MPG and then some with these compared to multiple other brands. My only complaint of sorts would be the tire/tread life, where I have just over 20k on a pair of CrossClimate+ after approximately 2 years.
That is very low mileage-wise, however,, they have been great through everything nature has thrown at them and even though they have 3-4/32nd left out of the 9/32nds when new, I’m replacing them early for safety concerns instead of trying to squeeze another season or three out of them, which I probably could, but better safe than sorry.
My family drives these cars daily and I’m more comfortable with them having more tread. I am expecting more life out of the CrossClimate2 with 10/32nds new. I will likely post a separate performance-centric review for the CrossClimate2 experience on the Lexus, as I only have a few hundred miles on that vehicle, but so far the results exceed expectations, providing a very stable and consistent ride, better than any of the other tires I’ve ever had on that Lexus.
If anything the tires amplify the driving experience on my vehicles and sometimes that means revealing suspension issues and other inconsistencies in their feedback, the type of precise feedback that less dynamic and responsive tires do not provide.
This is another likely limitation of understanding on the part of some CrossClimate Owners.
I bought a set of these for my 2017 Toyota Highlander as the winter tires I run every winter from mid to late October to mid to late April were down to 5/32s and the Original All Seasons were also worn to 4/32s.
I am hoping to run these until Fall 2023 when I will buy new winter tires again and then run these as “all season Summer tires”. These are listed on here as All Season tires but they have a mountain snowflake symbol so they are “acceptable” for winter use.
Before these arrived at the Canadian Tire store ( had to be ordered in) I read all the reviews on here and became a little worried as I value comfort ( low road noise ) and good fuel consumption characteristics.
My originals tires and the winters I bout 4 winters ago are also Michelin products and I was always happy with them. The winters were quiet and didn’t negatively affect fuel mileage. From new these CrossClimate 2s ( apparently there was a Cross Climate 1??? that might have had some of the issues some reviewers mentioned?????).
were quiet considering the aggressive tread design and my fuel consumption was not affected at all in fact the first couple tank fulls after purchase it seemed very slightly better. The road noise was no more than the almost worn out X Ices that I had one before these and they were quiet tires.
That first review was after about 1500 kms driving on them. Fuel mileage is the same as it always has been, I have noticed with paving season just. over that there is a very slight “whirring” noise of freshly paved smooth pavement which could be the tire or I’m hearing more of the rear “axles” ???? The only other issue is that these tires pick up every rock from a grain of rock salt to a lima bean size.
Most are “flung out” at highway speeds but I am constantly picking them out of the treads as I am one of those people who removes rocks from the treads before tire changeovers every season. That accumulation of small rocks may cause some unwanted road noise but I can’t confirm that it does as I haven’t noticed it.
I hope winter goes easy on us but I may have another review next April or so after using them for winter. The Michelin winters I had stuck well on icy roads but I am expecting to have to use more caution with these.
People seem to be getting confused about a couple points: 1. Wandering / Poor tracking: this tends to happen with untrained staff mounting all four tires on the wheels one direction, which makes directional tread patterns like these backwards on one side of the car, which results in poor tracking and wandering.
I have had tire shops do this, and it feels exactly how some “disappointed” reviewers are describing their performance. 2. Poor MPG: Michelin has replied here to a bunch of people that fresh tire compounds result in lower mpg at first.
That’s not untrue necessarily, but so far people have ignored that new tires are physically larger than worn tires, even at the same nominal size. The worn tires are giving artificially high MPG figures (they aren’t going as far as the odometer says), and the new ones are often giving artificially low figures (going farther than the odometer says, since they are often set for an average tire age), so jumping from worn to new makes it falsely appear that there is a significant MPG difference.
So, don’t get it twisted! These are great tires, especially in wet environments. Even at double the price of standard “used car grade” tires, I bought two more sets of these, so every car would be as safe and comfortable.
I only wish they came in a light truck load rating so I could feel better taking them on forest roads.
Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 Tires feature their CV-2 compound that improves wet traction without compromising treadwear through the use of micro-silica. The flat and wide profile evenly distributes weight to prolong tread life.
Geolandar CV G058 Tires feature wide circumferential, pass-through groves to evacuate more water in wet conditions to prevent hydroplaning. In addition to that, 2D/3D combination sipes create powerful biting edges for superior winter traction.
These tires also feature serrated outer grooves that provide more bite without compromising wet performance. The Geolandar CV G058 Tires are the perfect all weather tires for your truck, CUV or SUV. They are backed by Yokohama’s five year (60 month) limited protection program.
They come in numerous sizes and are sold individually, so make sure to order a complete set today.
Tires have a little bit softer sidewalls then the Pure UHP Summer tires I swapped out for my 2005 Cayenne Turbo. Otherwise great first drive. installed on Friday then went on a 350 mile road trip the next day.
Curvy mountain roads at 37 degrees and dry pavement. Trip also included long straight sections at highway speeds(65 to 80MPH) and even some slow gravel road. Smooth and quiet tires.
I ordered Yokohama Geolandar G055 225/55R18 98H (DC) AS A/S, but received the 98V. I went a head and used it because I needed a tire immediately. It would have been a hassle trying to exchange it. I do however think that you are providing a great service.
Hopefully if I ever order from you again, I will get what I ordered,.
Get a good deal on a great tire for your vehicle with the Starfire Solarus AS All-Season 235/55R18 100V Tire. The advanced all-season tread design provides all-season traction in wet, dry and winter conditions while giving you plenty of miles.
The tread is computer-designed to reduce noise to provide a quiet-running tire at highway speeds. The tire deep, lateral shoulder slots help ensure excellent traction throughout the life of the tire.
Spiral nylon overwrap in the tire helps improve the tires contact footprint with the road.
The Nitto Neo Gen features a striking asymmetric tread with large outer tread blocks for improved turn-in and a continuous inner shoulder to improve wear on vehicles with negative camber. Three dimensional sipes maintain tread block rigidity while improving wet traction.
Deep circumferential grooves and slanted tread blocks help to further improve wet traction and reduce hydroplaning. M&S rated all season performance. The Nitto Neo Gen is available in 15 through 22 inch wheel sizes.
Available in V or W speed rating. UTQG : 280 AA A.
The Nitto Trail Grappler M/T is a hybrid design that blends the off-road capability of a mud tire with the on-road civility of an all-terrain tire. A z-shaped center groove provides lateral stability and excellent mud traction Balanced tread void ratio and integrated stone ejectors help to clear mud and debris from the tread.
Deep, lateral center sipes help to improve wet traction by allowing for water drainage. Reinforced shoulder grooves and 3D tapered grooves add additional biting edges for improved off-road/all-season traction without compromising block stiffness.
Random tread block size and pitch variation provides a quiet ride. Integrated sidewall tread lugs help to provide additional off-road traction and enhanced shoulder protection Extra-thick, high turn-up, 3-ply sidewall construction improves on-road steering response as well as off-road durability and puncture resistance.
Two wide steel belts improve durability and increase tread strength. Jointless bead wire and spiral-wound cap ply ensure optimal tire uniformity and quality. The Nitto Trail Grappler M/T features two distinct sidewall designs, so you can choose the one that you want to face outward.
Crugen HP71 provides a luxurious feel and quiet ride. The level of safety, performance, and longevity makes the Crugen HP71 an ideal match for today’s CUVs and SUVs. Thanks to Kumho’s state of the art technology, you will feel confident on the road no matter the weather.
Has full-depth sipes and lateral voids to prevent slush build up under the tire and create lasting winter traction.
The ride is quiet in my Ram 2500 diesel. I have put 41k miles on these tires, and towed a 12k pound 5th Wheel with no trouble whatsoever. They were excellent in rain, but light snow in Colorado was a challenge.
I drove on many dirt and gravel roads with no blowouts or flats. They are starting to get loud now that they are almost to the wear bars. I will buy another set of these LT tires for my Ram. I have researched many other tires, but AT tires are too loud after the first few thousand miles, and affordable HT tires are hard to come by for light trucks.
I think this one has filled the niche for me. I didn’t give them 5 stars because of the fair snow performance.
These tires ride nicely and have very good traction for our 2018 Toyota Sienna. W-M Yucca Valley did a great job mounting them. My only beef is how quickly they wear (minus 2 stars). We have only 20K miles on the set, and the wear bars are almost to the tread.
Had hoped for 35K miles, on what is advertised as a 70K mile tire. For what it’s worth, Siennas are known for rapid tire wear. I will ask for warranty reimbursement, but don’t expect much help. Walmart previously has told me any warranty claims were between me and the manufacturer, although Kumho requires dealer involvement.
After many reviews on the Kumho’s I decided to purchase these for my truck considering for $150. 00 a tire and they had the same tread pattern as the Michelins I bought them but looks are deceiving. After they were installed I took them for a ride down the highway there were problems right off the bat.
A very stiff ride, out of balance and road noise. After four balances Sam’s couldn’t get them true, the tires would ride ok for a while but would go right out of balance after a couple of miles. Not good.
Didn’t get the ride that I was expecting from these tires, you get what you pay for. Sam’s were nice enough to refund my money towards a pair of Michelins. Tried to save some money but in the long end these tires were just poor quality.

Last year we bought a C300 4Matic and got the Continental Conti Winter Contact. Much much better tire than the Pirelli Sottozero. After 1 winter driving, no understeer, no spin, and quieter. I will have to see how they wear.
The Pirelli Sottozero winter tires are the worst tires I have ever had on a car and this is a REAL review with 3 Quebec winters on a 2011 A4 Quattro. I am glad to get rid of them. Very close tread pattern prone to spin with ROUND EDGES prone to understeer in any depth of snow.
You will be taking any snowy corner at walking speed. Noisy and wear out like butter (saw the tread bars in less than 20KM). Ice grip is no better than our all season summer tires (I tried both on the same day).
Michelin Cross Climate SUV Tire Refined comfort and confident performance in wet and dry. Michelin’s CrossClimate SUV Tire is designed to be a one-tire solution for drivers that experience all four seasons but don’t get large amounts of snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.
The CrossClimate SUV tires extreme silica tread compound maintains flexibility over a broader temperature range resulting in exceptional grip during the summer and winter. Created with V-shaped tread pattern, 3-D full depth sipes, and emerging grooves, the CrossClimate provides long lasting traction along with mobility on snow throughout the life of the tire.
The tread blocks are designed with bevel-edges to enhanced grip and braking on dry roads.
I bought the set in October 2021, though I did have a set of Michelin winter tires already on rims. The Cross Climate in my estimation, exceeded my expectation in snow and icy conditions. I do live in Ontario, Canada.
What surprised me is the lack of aquaplaning going through water and the excellent stability, handling, smooth ride and quietness of these tires. In all honesty, when this set needs replacing, I will definitely stick with the Cross Climate.
I also found the grip to be excellent, winter or summer and no slipping when starting off in the snow or wet conditions. I have always been a Michelin owner but these are the best yet.
I put a set of four of these tires on my 2020 Honda Ridgeline in May of last year, and they have been absolutely phenomenal in wet weather. They are without a doubt the very best wet weather tire I have ever had, and that is my single most important criteria for selecting tires.
I was very pleased with their performance in light snow this past winter- a capability that isn’t needed EVERY winter around here, but sure does give peace of mind. BUT I can definitely verify what another reviewer said about longevity- I just purchased another pair, because both of my front tires were worn nearly bald in less than 20,000 miles (The rears look like they will last as long as the new front tires.
I am a fanatic about maintaining proper air pressure, and did not rotate specifically because the wear was so evenly distributed across each pair of tires that buying a new front pair when necessary worked just as well).
Another 20,000 miles from now, I will be looking into a set of CrossClimate 2 tires and hoping for substantially better tread life, but even if I don’t find it I am not sure I can go back to driving on other tires that don’t have this kind of grip in the rain.
My main concern with getting this tire was noise. I drive a Tesla Model X and were pleased with other reviews regarding handling in inclement weather, but I was concerned about noise because my OEM tirew were Continental CrossContact Sport with ContiSilent foam technology.
I can now tell you that the noise level from these tire are at best marginally worese than the continentals. In fact, the difference would barely be audible to most people. Most of the road noise I hear are from other vehicles, and no amount of foam in my tires will change that.
These tires are better in every respect than the Continentals, and I will never go back. I have long been a fan of Michelin products, and have been waiting for over a year for Michelin to produce tires that would fit my vehicle.
(I have 20″ rims). In conclusion I wanted to add that I purchased these tires at Costco, which I also highly recommend. The CrossClimate tires also carry a superior warranty over the OEM tires. Thank you Michelin!.
Maxxis Bravo tires are top-quality in both design and construction. They ride well and have excellent traction. They have a good speed and load rating (95V on the ones I have). Maxxis has a full-line of very well designed, and well-built, high performance, sport, and specialty tires.
A DOT Competition tire, the high-performance Proxes R888R delivers even faster lap times and better dry handling than its race-winning predecessor, the R888. Thanks to a new tread design and improved contact patch that ensure more rubber on the track, racers will appreciate the consistent handling and control.
Built with a high grip race compound, the R888R quickly reaches optimal operating temperature for improved grip, excellent cornering, and reliable performance. Large tread blocks maximize lateral grip and a water evacuation channel improves wet traction.
Moving to a wider tire (315) and wheel (18×11) for road racing, and still having one set of narrower 18×10 wheels, I needed the widest “practice” tire I could find for my Apex wheels (295/30ZR18). Toyo is a NASA sponsor (I’m with NASA Utah) and a few of my buddies are running the Toyo RR’s.
I wanted something with even longer life than the RR, so my Discount Tire manager hooked me up with the R888R and I have loved them! Perhaps the best thing about the R888R is how well they have lasted.
I’ve driven them all season without pancaking them! When I first purchased them, I noticed they were heavy – that was due to the large amount of rubber on the shoulders. Anyone that knows me at the track can tell you I don’t go easy on my tires.
I’m very good with tire management – rotating often and pancaking before cording, so I know how to maximize tire life. Fridays I give lots of ride-alongs and these tires are the best! They give audible feedback so I know exactly how hard I’m pushing them which keeps us safe (we’re not supposed to spin-out with guests).
My riders think we’re going WAY faster than we really are going and that we are for sure about to spin and fly off the track because of all the tire noise they hear – but we don’t because of the great grip the R888R has.
DOT r-compound and full race slicks don’t really give audible feedback – you drive by what you feel. I’ve loved having the audible feedback for Friday practice runs because I can push the tires – push them a bit harder – back off, etc.
and really hone in on particular corners knowing better what the car wants to do naturally which helps with car setup and my driving line. I highly recommend the R888R!!!.
Incredible straight-line acceleration. They spin under 800 Ft lbs of TQ but they really never let go. Incredibly safe tire for high horsepower. Exceptional handling and looks. If this tire doesn’t work for you then probably don’t have the vehicle that can take these tires to their limit.
Ive bought 4 sets for high horsepower Pro Touring cars I’ve built. I wont try anything else. Ive had many fast cars with many different tires.
So would these fit under one of the fiberglass bodies of a old VW Dune Buggys ?? I bought on in Great Shape and a Great Running Air Cool Motor. But the very nice looking Tires on her are really bad of being weather checked.
A friend that will not be riding in mine ha has a sand rail. But he said just place some tubes in mine. And Cruz the interstate with tubes in weather check tires !! Nope Does Not Sound Cool at All. So what do you think these on the back and his skinny look alike on the Front for summer flying down the concrete lanes then onto the sandy dunes here in Northwestern Michigan of the Lower Part of this nice looking state !! Thank ~You for letting me know your answer and thanks for your time to read & to answer my Question Great Outside Friend.

I am a car guy. I love putting wheels on all my cars since my high school days. I have used and spent a lot of money on toyo tires in the past with no issues. Currently running 295/30/24 toyo proxes on my new 2018 Dodge Durango RT.
Unfortunately I had a large stress crack on the side wall of 1 tire. With 2 small boys ages 2 & 7 I take no chances. Took the wheels and tires back to the place of purchase which is a certified dealer.
Had the tires about a year and only issue was a slight vibration that balancing could never correct but once your mount the tires there yours. The tire was sent in and after about a month any warranty on the tire was declined.
The reason was driving on low tire pressure. Not the case I had the sensors swapped. Beware if you have any warranty issues this could happen.
I’ve been running Toyo Tires on all my past sport cars where they’ve been pushed to the limit through canyons and street driving. When the time came to find tires for my new SUV I knew exactly who to contact.
I purchased the ProxesST3 in 285/50/20 to compliment my new aftermarket Rays Engineering wheels. The tread design is both aggressive and classy at the same time. It was the exact look that I was looking for.
The tires are quiet on the street at low speeds and on the highway at speeds of <80mph. I am true fan of this tire and brand. Don’t hesitate on purchasing a set. You won’t regret it!.
I love this tires, price, quality, and performance. Have a set of this on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, equip with aftermarket Velgen wheels, i have drove the car since new with this tires, and just now im having to change them for a brand new set, the lasted close to 30K miles and 3 years of driving.

great tires! 7 ply tread (unheard of) quiet and a lot of grip! fresh install so this is an initial quality review. I didn’t know much about maxxis, but after researching a little bit. I went for it and bought them! they’re mostly known for their off road and recreational vehicle tires.
they are now trying to branch out into the passenger car/SUV segment. I’d say they’re succeeding in growing a customer base as I can already tell they’re better quality than some Goodyear/Firestone fires I’ve purchased.
amazing quality for the price I paid! good luck finding a better deal for 18″ v rated high performance tires. aggressive looking tread, and they look nice on the car (07 Touareg V8) overall I’m amazed with this purchase so far.
I’ll update this after I drive on them a few months. but so far I’m very happy.
I usually don’t do reviews but y’all keep sending me emails to do one constantly so here. There was some weird excuse they gave me about the tires wouldn’t pass some inspection. Ordered from tire rack instead.
If you’re on the freeway one day and off the beaten path the next, the Nitto Terra Grappler is an ideal choice for your truck or SUV. The RX350 is a great car and it rides smoothly. The tires are great for this car and they perform well. The only downside is that they are a bit expensive. Overall, the RX350 is a great car and the tires are a good investment.
