20 Best Tires For S2000 (2022 Updated)

I use to use B. F. Goodrich drag radials and I never had an issue with them. But then B. F. Goodrich stopped making the drag radials. I bought a pair of Mickey Thompson’s under great reviews from everyone I talked to.

I work in a shop so I got to mount the tires myself. the problem arose when i tried to balance the tires. they wanted a lot of weight, so i put the weight on and spun them again. they wanted more weight, so i put the weight on and spun them again.

AND, they still wanted more weight. I broke the bead, moved the tires on the rim and tried it again with the same results. I removed all the weights off the rims and watched the tires as they spun. both tires would noticeably bounce while spinning on the machine.

they were definitely out of round. i even took the tires off and just spun the rims and they were perfect. I never had this problem with the B. F. Goodrich drag radials. I should have contacted Summit right away about this but i didn’t.

3 years later, i tried balancing the tires again with the same results. even after burning some rubber off of them, they didn’t straighten out. I will definitely be trying other drag radials before buying another set of these.

Oh, and i also have a pair of 28×10. 5×15 MT slicks, and no problems with them.

Can’t beat Mickey Thompson Street strip radials. The 79’ TransAm they are going on will be just right for what the car is being built to do. 04’ LQ9 LS truck block, Magnuson 2. 3L whipple supercharger.

4spd. Can’t wait for 700 H. P. at the tires! 275/60R15.

I bought a set of these in 305/35r20 for the rear of my 2016 srt392 charger in an attempt to improve my off the line traction at the track. All i can say is the difference is night and day compared to both the stock all seasons aswell as a set of bridgestone summer tires i had previously had on the car.

I went from running 13. 2s in the quarter to a personal best of 11. 98 in that particular car. Other than the drag radials the car is 100% factory stock and these fot the factory wheels perfectly with zero clearance issues of rubbing.

My season is pretty much over but come spring i will be ordering another set for my hellcat charger.

This is a superb Hybrid Tyre, i ordered the 700c x 38 along with the air stop inner tubes, tyres went on my 29er rims well, they are a directional tyre so make sure they are fitted with the correct rotation.

On first ride coming from my nobbly mountain bike tyres they are very smooth , i can really feel the lesser rolling resistance and made the cycle journeys easier, the tyres have a 67psi max and i use them at 60 and the ride is superb.

Thse are by far the best commuter tyre for the bargain price these are at on Tredz and the free delivery from tredz was also swift and they came via TNT.

I’m on my third set of Road 5s on my Street Triple, and I’ve recently installed a set on my R3 commuter bike. On the Street Triple, I get around 20,000 km of riding out of a set. Funnily enough, the outside of the front tyre is the first thing to wear out.

But that might just be an indication of the roads over here being a bit more twisty than average. I previously got 30,000km out of a Road 3 front on another R3 that I used to own. So, hopefully, the Road 5 will give similar mileage.

The reason that I keep coming back to these tyres is that despite the longevity, it doesn’t seem to sacrifice on grip, wet or dry (at least within the confines of what you can do safely on the street).

In the wet, I’ve not so much had a wiggle out of the bike, even over wet tar snakes and other such hazards. In the dry, there’s more grip than my riding ability can use. I’ve scraped pegs on occasion, when a corner has turned out to be tighter than planned, all with a minimum of hassle or fuss.

In those situations, the grip never felt anywhere close to running out. When comparing my two bikes, my Street Triple has always had a certain level of plantedness and security when cornering that the R3 never had.

I’d always put that down to the wider tyre width and the better suspension on the Street Triple. But, after fitting the Road 5s, I was shocked to find that the R3 now also exhibits this same feeling of security and plantedness when the bike is leaned over.

It never felt that way, even with the brand new OEM GPR-300s fitted.

3rd. time I buy Kenda Klevers! I knew the brand Kenda from my motorcycles and mountain bikes. The first time I bought the original “A/t” design I did not know what to expect. I loved them, my Tahoe was always sure footed and the tires never slipped off road to so when they wore out I bought a second set.

I needed tires again in 2021 and I was a bit hesitant when I saw they had changed the thread design to the new “A/t2”. Now, I actually like it even more than the originals! They work great on all surfaces and look nice and more aggressive without being loud on the road like a mud tire.

Same great traction as the originals on all the surfaces I have encountered in Arizona. I kept the 2 least worn Klevers A/t from my previous set and mounted them on my off road trailer! once or twice I have had nails on the thread but were easily repaired and did not leave me stranded or even require me to change the tires, I could always drive to a shop to have it fixed.

These are rugged tires!.

Tires are doing great so far on my 2014 F150 XLT Supercrew Ecoboost. Considering they’re AT tires and fairly aggressive they’re not loud at all and have a smooth ride even at 90mph. Only have about 500 miles on them so far so not to sure about longevity but they still look brand new.

Also have good grip and handle well on gravel and unimproved roads. I think I should get 40-50k miles on them before they need to be changed. I’ll update this review later on down the road if anything changes but so far so good.

I’ve had Kenda tires on all my dirtbikes (KX250, CRF250, KTM 65, YZ450F) and my 2015 Nissan Altima for the past 5 years and have never had any problems with any of them and they’re always a lot more reasonably priced than all the other name brand tires.

Kenda as a company has definitely come a long way!.

The BFG A/T is the best tire I’ve ever owned in my life. In the 80’s and 90’s they were great in all conditions but had very poor tread life. The KO2’s last 5x longer than the old BFG AT’s did. Of coarse, there are exceptions to any tire you run.

The majority of heavy duty and light truck owners are on paved roads 75% of the time. I live at 10,000 ft elevation in the Rocky Mountains. I drive on paved roads maybe 30% of the time day to day. To and from my house are dirt roads, recycled asphalt, and what most would consider 4 wheel roads.

The KO2’s out perform any tire in extreme conditions I’ve ever owned. Of coarse there is always compromise. The paved roads where I live are very curvy so if you drive like your in a race car every day they will wear down faster.

They are quiet for the first 70% of their life and get louder toward the end of there life. Running a 2500 duramax, 350’s and 550’s for 30 years in the mountains of Colorado, I was used to 20k-30k max on any tire.

I was shocked to get 40-50k out of the KO2’s. Any one who writes a bad review on these tires, doesn’t use them for what they were made for. Cityiots, mainly that have all the lifts, suspension, racks, jacks and gas cans to go to the grocery store in Denver.

This tire cannot be beat for grip or ware in all extreme conditions if you live in the mountains and don’t want to swap out a winter studded tire to a seasonal tire. To any of the haters out there that drive your hummers in the city everyday, I would opt for the cheapest tire you can buy.

For those of you that depend on your tires for day to day life for any condition, this is the tire to buy.

I’m sure the tires will be fine and everything was done on time. Three items on the installation. First, there are multiple scratch marks on all four rims after the installation, all around the edge of the outer each wheel, they were minty before this.

Secondly, I had a brand new license plates (football team) and the front one had been bent back on itself. I bent it back but now has crease across it now. Lastly, I’m not sure what pressure they installed in the truck tires because it blew my gauge apart.

Maximum pressure written on the tire is 80 psi but most shops would likely put only 65 psi. I’m going to run them at 40 and 45 psi as per recommendations from other truck owners for ride quality. I’m not really complaining about this cause this is owners preference but other tire shops I’ve dealt with have asked what I am doing with the truck and fill accordingly.

Pricey, but worth every penny. If you’re driving a small or mid sized car in winter weather then this is the tire for you. I have no complaints – even at this price.

In SW Missouri when the road ices even a truck in 4wd with chains can’t stay on the road. These on my Fiat worked effortlessly driving past trucks. Big sigh of relief now for medical appointments.

I actually have no idea if the tires are any good. I ordered 2,only received one. They are giving me the run around. They say it was delivered. They say they are checking into it. This happened 11/8 it is now 12/3 they said it would take 10 to 15 days to look into what happened to my other tire.

Just not good service.

This is a good tire that gives a good ride, good handling, etc. I have ran various other brands in years past but like this one the best. But none of the other brands are bad–they are all very similar in performance to me.

Like the G709 front tire, this 704 rear tire does not get enough mileage to me. I had to replace the last one at 7000 miles. Overall this is a great tire. My thoughts are you have a lot riding on your tires and you need to spend whatever amount of money to help with safety.

I bought these tires for my 2006 Toyota RAV4 3. 5 V6 4WD. The day I had them installed, it was raining hard. I decided to take a drive on the highway, after installation, and going 70mph – not a hitch.

Tires had excellent grip. Being a division of Hercules Tires, which is also made by Cooper Tires, hey, I said, why not? Excellent price, very good treadwear, and quieter than my previous set of tires, I couldn’t go wrong.

I was right. Then on the 3rd week of December, it snowed hard on a Wednesday, but hey, these tires stuck pretty well. I’m just very impressed, all things considered. These tires live up to the name. Highly recommended.

Normally, I purchase tires with way higher tread life numbers, but I think these will be just fine for the two cars in my fleet that do not travel very far. I made the mistake of purchasing touring tires for my Lancer and Mustang, and then their annual mileage dropped to below 3000 miles each.

The tires were cracking before I could even wear them out. So I was looking for a good value, and found both Tire Buyer and these Ironman GR906(s). They are quiet, and smooth riding, heck even my wife noticed this and she it NOT a car person.

Since they’re working out for her 2009 Lancer, I think I’m going to get them for my 2007 Mustang, which is now just my hobby car. I’ll likely still get a better touring or GT tire for my 2016 Civic, which is daily driven much further.

These GR906(s) are great in the rain, and while I haven’t really pushed them in the windy-twisties, they seem to have a decent grip for my wife’s purposes, and likely my geriatric Mustang’s purposes too! Good tire for the (very little) money! A note on my ratings below: The jury is still out on winter traction, so I gave all these scores a 3.

We haven’t really had any real winter weather yet since I bought them, but their other positive reviews in this regard is why I chose them.

I have had these tires on my 2018 Mercedes-Benz for approximately 4 months now. I’m a car guy, have owned lots of cars, 96 to be exact! That’s no typo yes currently on my 96th car so choosing wheels and tires are extremely important to me.

Tires must have an aggressive look and must have excellent grip. I noticed these tires online, read reviews and took a chance. Wow am impressed! Always knew Lexani for their wheel products, but wasn’t aware of their tire line-up.

These tires ride quiet, smooth, and have amazing grip at half to a third of the price of other brands!!! I drive fast (I do NOT condone speeding) and wanted a tire I could rely on when it came to my driving style.

Almost ZERO road noise. not like the overrated Pirelli’s I had that were noisy, hard and unpredictable in the dry, rain and snow. These Lexani tires are excellent in the rain, car follows where you point it at.

As for snow, that remains to be seen as we haven’t reached that season yet. If you pass on these you will be wishing you didn’t. As for me, I will be purchasing these again when it comes time for replacement!!!.

I have only had these tires for about a week and only driven on dry roads so I can’t speak for how they will be on wet or icy roads. But as far as dry road driving goes i couldn’t be happier. I put them on a 2006 Mini Cooper S switching from the “run-flats” on the car that rode like I was riding on wooden wheels.

The Mini is now a delight to drive. I am so happy with how they ride and handle the road. It is so much more fun to drive it now. I barely feel the bumps in the road. I hope I will be as happy with the rain and snow.

They arrived quickly and Walmart mounted them for me. It was all so easy.

I was hoping to be able to give priority tire a solid review and rating but I have had the worst experience with ordering my tires. I ordered 4 Ohtsu 235/35/19 tires from priority tires on Tuesday 2/22/22 and I scheduled a Discount tire appointment to mount them on March 5th as I was expecting the tires by end of day Monday 2/28/22.

I didn’t receive them Monday, no update from FedEx on Tuesday and finally I got an update that the tires were out for delivery on Wednesday but no specified time was given other than by end of day. I had my wife stay at home all day to wait for the tires when finally I had a FedEx truck show up at 10:30 am.

My wife went outside to get them and the FedEx driver was gone in a hurry. She called me to tell me that we had only received three tires and I didn’t think much of it since I knew that there was two tracking numbers and I figured the 4 tire might be the other tracking number.

I went on the FedEx website and they updated the shipment status as completed for both tracking numbers. I had to prove via my ring cameras that only three tires were delivered. Finally Priority decided to ship me a 4th tire on Friday 3/5/22 I immediately started tracking the shipment.

I live in San Diego and the tire made its way north from North Carolina to Pensilvania (they needed to go west not north) where it stayed with no shipping update. I made another discount tire appointment on Saturday 3/12/22 and I had to cancel it on Friday 3/11/22 because although the FedEx website said the tire would be delivered by end of day Friday 3/11/22 the tire never arrived.

Here we are 03/13/22, 19 days after I ordered my tires and still can not get the wheels and tires mounted on my vehicle. I should’ve gone with my initial plan of getting the tires at discount tires as they also offer a military discount.

I paid a total of $533. 43 for the Ohtsu tires and I would have paid $527 out the door for some Nankangs at discount tire with warranty, mounting and balancing included. Priority did issue me a $40 credit towards the tire but they did a little to late.

The tire is currently in Texas and I don’t see the tire arriving for another 4 days. In the end I had priority cancel my order and request a full refund and I had them stop the shipment of that 4th tire but both requests have not happened yet.

I asked priority to send me shipping labels so that I can send them back and haven’t heard from them and the tire is obviously still en route to San Diego. Buy local if you want to avoid the total cluster [email protected]#k that I had to deal with.

Have only put about 500 miles on these tires so far but they are nice tires! Handling is good, tire noise is pretty minimal. Pretty nice overall budget performance tire. Have a decently aggressive look.

Time will tell how long they last but so far I am very pleased with these tires.

I really like these tires, very good grip and road feel, excellent in the wet, no hydroplane issues, tires are very quiet no road noise issues. I was expecting the ride to be rougher as I went down a size from the factory 40 series ( I had 245 40R 15’s ) surprisingly not a big difference.

Steering is razor sharp, with the low sidewalls these feel great in the curves. After 3000 miles they’re wearing nice and evenly. With hard use I wouldn’t expect these to last too long but compare with the factory Dunlops in longevity.

Driving not too crazy I could see getting 25K – 30K miles out of these. Performance wise these feel better than the Dunlops, way better. No rubbing issues on the fender wells. You can’t beat the price $350 for all 4 delivered.

Add another $80 to get them installed and a $100 Subaru 4 wheel alignment and you’re still under what the big name brands charge for just 3 tires. Are they top of the line? no. Are they killer tires for the price? Yes, I would buy again no hesitation.
