This is my 3rd set. These tires balance well. They wear better than other mud tires on the market. I am very impressed with the mileage I am getting out of these. The noise is minimal compared to other mud tires, but lets all be honest.
these are mud tires, they do hum. But they are no where near the noise of a Mickey Thompson, or BF Goodrich. The traction is amazing. Off-road, mud, dirt, snow, wet black-top, all good. No worries. If you are in the market for the best mud tire, the Pro Comp Extreme M/T 2 is it.

Great tires for all your SUV needs. Handles great on pave roads regardless of snow, rain, or dry. Very predictable and sure handling. Very minimal road noise, considering its a A/T tire. And also does well off road and handles all that you throw at it there.
I have it on my 05 Liberty Renegade, upgraded from the stock Goodyear Wranglers, which were horrible tires, and went with a 245/70/16 size upgrade (widest allowed on stock suspension) from a 225/75/16 and the jeep and tires have perform flawlessly.
Recently bought my 2nd set and installed. But found out that Firestone has discontinued this tire and introduced a newer version “The Destination A/T2”. But have also raised the price significantly, which is a turn off for me.
As the price point and performance of the Original Destination A/T tire was just right. For the new Price point that Firestone wants, I’m better off looking at other brands with proven performance/history that are in the same price point.
So they may lose alot of customers, me being one of them in the future.
Of course these all-terrain tires rumble a bit, however I experience several manufacturing defects such as dipping and out of round. At one point balancing a tire required 7 oz. That’s excessive. The Firestone store in Lacey Washington could not road force the tires, which is a better way to test the balance.
I took it back and got the one particularly bad tire replaced. Still there was the wobble. To top things off the manager of the Firestone store told me that I absolutely could not get a refund based on the 90-day ride and try program.
That official Firestone policy says that you can get a replacement or refund “no questions asked”. I verified my initial understanding of the program online and found out he was not telling me the truth.
I actually got him to say I couldn’t get a refund twice. I confronted him about it and he said he didn’t know that. So here I am a customer who knows more about the Firestone policy than the Firestone manager supposedly.
Well I now have approx 3500 miles on the X/Ts these tires are a great all around tire From 6 inches of snow up north to icy roads coming back and muddy work job sites I feel confident With the traction they deliver now for life of the tire I see very little tread wear yet so I believe I will get the 50,000 miles of life the ride so far is good but its a load range E tire so they are going to be hard now as for noise these are not noisey but they are hummers you know there there.
The only thing I dislike about the tires Is that I am the guy that has stones In his tires and they will release in the wheel well or into ?. But I do recommend theses tires.
Goodyear is one of the worlds largest tire companies. It employs about 64,000 people and manufactures its products in 48 facilities in 22 countries around the world. Its two Innovation Centers in Akron, Ohio and Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg strive to develop state-of-the-art products and services that set the technology and performance standard for the industry.

These have been good tires for my multipurpose needs. I need extra grip now and then, for off road and snow and ice. I don’t do a hole lot of highway but I’m always carrying a light load and pulling a trailer these tires hold up well for these purposes.
There are not as loud on the highway as most and I just admire the white letter ties. They look great. I go to many Construction sites and still have not gotten a flat tire. Last set held up till most of the wire was showing.
I can say so far that I would recommend these tires if you have similar needs.
A customer review is a tricky thing. Because for one you are not sure if the person writing the review is, well lets be honest, just not all that skilled of a driver, the mechanical condition of their vehicle, and quite frankly how HONEST that person is.
Anyone can write a review and say anything they want! So, understand this about me: For several years I was a tire technician at a local farmers Co-Op, I am still a mechanic, I grew up farming, I have bought over 20 sets of tires in the last 2 decades, and my vehicles are reasonably well maintained.
I am NOT the best driver out there off road and in the snow, but I always manage to get where I am going and without causing a wreck. NOW, here is the thing about these tires. ……. they are CHEAP to buy! No, they do NOT perform as good, in ANY condition, as a set of BFG AT KO’s.
But they are LESS than HALF the price! I have bought the pre KO BFG AT’s, one set of ATKO’s, a set of General Grabber AT2’s, 2 sets of Patagonia AT’s, and 5 — FIVE — sets of these Goodyear’s. We don’t get much snow here, maybe 2 snows per winter.
When it does it is usually 3″ to 8″ of the wet hardpacked kind. We DO get a LOT of sleet here. And I don’t care what kind of tire you own, anyone who tells you their tires are “great on sleet.
This is the third set of the Goodyear Wranglers I have used, all from Walmart. I have been very pleased with the tires, and dealing with Walmart Tire has been very straightforward. I use these tires on older 4WD vehicles we own (S-15 Jimmy, Mountaineer), and they work very well on these older chassis.
Traction is excellent, ride is good, and durability is great. I actually bought five of the Wranglers when I recently replaced the tires on the Mountaineer, as the underbody spare was fifteen years old, and I did not trust it for even brief use.
At the time I purchase the Wranglers, Walmart had them on a special sale price with free mount / balance, so I was able to purchase all five for a lower cost than four would have been, even at a chain tire shop across the street that agreed to “match prices.
” I could not be happier with the tires, or with the service I received at my local Walmart. I intend to continue using these tires as long as they are available.
For superior traction in harsh terrain, look no further than the PATAGONIA M/T off-road tire. Whether it’s rocks, mud, snow or sand the PATAGONIA M/T is one tough tire and will provide maximum traction in any terrain.
Designed to be at home rock crawling, exploring the desert, mud bogging, playing in the dunes, or a casual drive through mountain trails, the PATAGONIA M/T has all the attributes to overcome any terrain.
The high-void tread design is engineered to provide aggressive biting edges while promoting self-cleaning. Staggered, off-center tread blocks provide increased traction while enhancing on-the-road performance.
The PATAGONIA M/T’s 3-ply sidewall? provides additional protection against impact damage, while stone ejectors combat stone drilling, especially useful for rock crawling and all-terrain exploration. Built to tackle rugged terrain anywhere you may want to explore, the PATAGONIA M/T will allow you to push your vehicle to the limit.
This off-road tire is available in LT and flotation sizes for both import and domestic 2X4, 4X4 and AWD vehicles.
Been running F350s, D2500s, Jeeps, 4x4s etc. for 10 years using every tire under the sun—BF, Goodyear, Cooper, Calvary, Thundertrack, Nitto, Eldorados, etc. THESE TIRES BEAT THEM ALL. They are mud terrains but they ride like luxury street radials.
Very soft tire however the wear life so far has been great. Great looking and performing 295 MT knobby tread but is quieter going down the road than my last set of 265 all terrains. When I got them mounted, the head guy in the shop commented how easy they were to balance out of the box for mud tires.
I currently have them on a 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU with stock rims and a 2” front 1” rear leveling kit. I will never buy another tire again as long as they keep making these. Real guy here with a business that depends on off road service—no BS.
High traction off pavement tire with overall appeal. Have tested in a variety of terrains. Far quieter than swampers or federal couragia tires I have run in past. Aggressive voids work well in sand and mud.
Lighter weight than many similar models (48 pounds each for 31/1050/15 models ). Have done difficult slick rock trails at 15 psi. Will try on extreme difficult with 9 psi once pandemic is over- I dont run hog canyon trail 7 alone.
Might displace Goodyear Wrangler MT as my favorite. These do wear faster than some but with light weight of my Samuarai Im not too concerned. And suspect they will last far longer than a set of Chinese mud tires on the Cherokee that were completely racing slick smooth after just over a year.
Id recommend trying on a daily that sees weekly trail use.
Ordered online, shipped to store and install scheduled online, just FYI, all good. Put these on my Tundra last week. Looks great, super aggressive tread, but on and off road was the real test. On road, very little noise, but smooth riding, surprisingly! Stopping was good, and climbing over rocks was excellent.
Took the tires on a little 20 mile section of Colorado off road, they performed very well, had a few spots the side lugs helped out! Going over cattle guards was the smoothest I have ever experienced with any tire ever.
Super happy, the price was amazing, full set installed on a truck for less than 700$. My truck is a rednecks head turner.

I bought a new ’05 Ram Quad Cab truck with these tires as original equipment. The truck had the 20″ factory mags and was 2WD. It had a 5. 7L Hemi with a 5 speed automatic and the trailer towing package and 3.
92 gears in the posi-rear end. I tried to drive in the snow one time. We had a couple inches on the ground. Forget it! The truck couldn’t get traction and just wanted to spin starting out. After that I left the truck in the garage during the winter and drove a FWD car to work.
I also didn’t want to drive the truck in the winter and get it slopped up with salt. Oh well. The same was true for driving in the rain-you were likely to fish tail if you got on it to pass someone or just starting out at a light.
Another guy at work had the same experience with his 05 Ram and these 20″ tires. He was more gutsy than me and drove in the snow with these tires. He switched to another brand after they wore out. I traded the truck in before these tires wore out, with 36K miles on them.
They were wearing pretty well at that mileage, still had a lot of tread left. I recently bought an 04 Ram with 98K miles on it with the same drive train as the ’05. It also has the same 20″ wheels as the ’05 had.
It has Cooper Discoverers on it and has much better traction in wet weather. They should dojust fine with snow. The tread pattern is much more aggressive than the Wrangler HP. You might be OK with the HPs in dry climate with little snow or rain.
Features and Benefits: All season traction, Mud terrain traction, Improved controllability, Upgraded durability Milestar Patagonia M/T Tires The Milestar Patagonia M/T is a mud terrain, all season tire made to be mounted on SUVs and light trucks.
The tire promotes first-rate mud terrain traction. The tread design features large tread blocks with angled biting edges and a detailed siping pattern to increase the model’s grip on soft and loose terrain surfaces.
The upper sidewall and tread design ensure the tire’s forward motion by firmly gripping onto the road surface. This ensures the model’s traction in deeper mud and on loose dirt, preventing the tire from being stuck on such terrain surfaces.
This tread design also helps maintain a clean footprint by dispersing mud stuck between the tread elements. This ensures the tire’s constant traction and performing ability. The model offers excellent durability.
The reinforced ply structure enhances the load durability and avoids damage to the tire’s casing. The stronger construction increases the tire’s strength and it maintains the ideal tire shape under the load and driving pressure.
The maintained ideal tire shape enables the tire’s heavy load durability and power, while preventing the shape’s deformation. This structure also resists impact damage from harming the tire’s casing, ensuring a secure performance.
The tread’s special stone ejectors avoid stone retention by eliminating rocks stuck between the tread elements. The Milestar Patagonia M/T ensures excellent controllability on various terrain surface conditions.
The center tread block pattern enhances the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In this manner, the steering is faster and more accurate, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the model.
This enables the driver to confidently maneuver the tire on its intended off-road surfaces.
For drivers who demand long-lasting treadlife in adverse conditions, choose the MICHELIN Defender LTX M/S tire. This all-season, safe driving tire delivers strong grip for reduced braking distances on wet roads and better traction on snow when compared to competitors.
Fit an M+S tire designed to keep your truck, crossover or SUV on the move in severe weather conditions. MICHELIN MaxTouch Construction improves fuel efficiency for an eco-friendly performance without compromising safety.
Put on a 2005 Honda Pilot. So far quite happy. Previous 2 replacement sets were Michelin Latitude Tour (unfortunately that product line now discontinued) and did get great tread life/wear (approx 100K km).
As a result wanted Michelin again and this was the one to go with based on specs and reviews. Road noise just ever so slightly more than previous but not surprising since slightly more aggressive tread.
After a couple hundred kms detected vibration at 115+ km/h but they just had to be rebalanced (all 4 checked no charge, 2 needed adjusted weights, solved). Have had that happen on previous set where the tire established its new/true shape after initial “break in” period.
Gave 4 stars because tires were 2 years since manufacture. Knew this before purchasing (as always inquire, and Michelin says they use 3 years for max shelf life). This unfortunate reality is a reflection of the pandemic…not as much driving so not as many tires being purchased, manufacturing sites impacted with outbreaks etc, and, this tire size not as popular anymore with newer vehicles trending to increasing rim sizes, etc.
This does not impact the warranty. And, this was not just a CTC issue as independent tire centers were similar. This size was made in Oklahoma plant where as more popular/larger sizes are made in the Canadian plants (Nova Scotia).
Was hoping to support Made-in-Canada (as were the previous Latitude Tour) but just as happy to support a North American made product for this purchase. Very pleased with the CTC auto center with the before, during and after purchase service and support.
First ever set of Michelin tires. Worth the extra money. These came on the truck when I bought it, 75,000 plus miles ago and were about 80% when I purchased truck. Dodge ram 2500 2wd with Cummins Turbo Diesel.
Ride quiet, 10 Ply Rating makes the ride kinda rough, but that is to be expected, great durability, I never have had a flat in 75,000 plus miles. My only complaint with these. TERRIBLE snow / slick surface traction.
The tread pattern and hard compound these tires are made with combine to make it simply IMPOSSIBLE to drive in the snow. (Note: 2WD configuration) Probably much better with 4WD. I simply refuse to pull this truck out of my driveway if there is ANY ice or snow on the road.
I have gotten it stuck in a 2″ deep mud puddle, due to limited soft surface traction. The tread simply fills up with snow/mud/ice and you are running on a set of slicks. I am now replacing these tires and will purchase another set of Michelin tires, but am probably going to go with the Agilis due to better multi-surface traction.
Simply the best mileage I have ever gotten out of a set of truck tires, I hope the Agilis last as long. I live in a winter snow environment and can’t afford a 4WD diesel. I pull 12,500lbs regularly over 350 miles one way, and need the diesel.
Bottom line, I love these tires, and they have changed my mind about the value of purchasing, “Name Brand” tires. I used to go with the least expensive available, never again.
Just had these Michelin X LT A/S installed today so i won’t be giving a full review now but will later after some miles on the tires. I had always had bad luck with Michelins and said I would never go back to them.
So I’m giving them another try. I usually go with Goodyear or Yokohama tires. They are the best in my opinion. Costco had a sale $150 off, so I researched, looked at reviews etc. Finally decided to go with the Michelins due to wear, gas mileage, quietness, all weather.
So far the ride is quiet, but due that they are brand new I will be updating the tires wear and information as the mileage accrues on the tires at a later date. Hope Michelin has gotten better with customer service, and backing their products, and their tires have gotten better as well.
my last set of Michelin tires 5 years ago, I had issues and never once did Michelin stand by their products, reach out, and their tires didn’t even last the milage they said it would. Thats why I never bought Michelin tires again.
You treat your customer rotten and they will leave. So here’s hopping everything will work out with these new tires!! I am only giving rating of average due that I just got the tire, and will change my review to reflect after more miles put on the tires.
SUV and pickup truck drivers who want comfortable and capable road performance to come along for off-road adventures will love the Pirelli Scorpion STR tire. On pavement, the center tread rib provides a smooth ride and lowers road noise, for increased comfort in rain and even snow.
When the durable tread blocks and biting sipes feel off-road terrain, they dig in for confident grip and safe braking performance. The Scorpion STR excels at both work and play.
Unless you have money to burn, timing is everything when it comes to buying your next set of tires. Tires, like shoes wear out when they wear out. Sure you can keep tabs by checking wear and maintaining tire pressures and making sure your alignment is good to maximize your mileage.
Since 1978, I have bought tires via mail order and have been pleasantly happy overall with my experiences. But when you have to get a set of tires that can be got at dozens of vendors who do you choose? For me there are some check boxes – Price, Availability, and Speed of Delivery.
Tirebuyer emailed all the necessary rebate receipts to make it easy to file online. Tires got to my house in 3 business days and my go to tire guy got them installed after that. So would I buy from Tirebuyer again? Sure but I better check my timing for holiday discounts! So onto the tire review right? Compared to my previous OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE050A these Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 were almost like night/day.
The RE050A gripped well in both dry and wet but being a Summer tire, I had the pleasure of driving in 19F temps and let me tell you, NOT a good feeling. The RE050A were always noisy on the highway and very square in profile.
They gripped well with plenty of warning at the limits. Plus having a 200 wear rating and mostly conservative driving in my 2016 Chevy SS sedan, I got about 22k miles with 3/32″ left and bald front outer edge wear.
So far so good, these Continentals DWS06 immediately quieter than the RE050As – since most of my driving is on the highway, this was a welcomed characteristic of the DWS06. The profile seems to be slightly more rounded as I had a very slight rear fender rub that is gone now.
Initial cornering response seems to be slightly softer but wouldn’t affect daily driving. Braking grip feels comparable. I am expecting for these to last about 35k to 40k miles provided my alignment stays in check.
OVERALL – I recommend this Continental ExtremeContact DWS06.
B9 Audi S4 Prestige 409whp Overall I would say these are the best tires I’ve ever run pertaining to all season. The grip is really intense and comparable even to high performance summer tires but still grab insanely well in the snow and decent in the wet.
If your someone that uses your sports car for it’s intended purpose and live in a seasonal area IMO you cannot get a better tire. Pros: Incredible grip in turns and off the line. Do not seem to lose any grip due to heat or even cold.
( haven’t had under 50 degrees f) No noticeable chunks coming from tire from intense driving like I experienced with pirelli p zero a/s and Yokohama advan sport a/s. Cons: Hard to regain traction when it is lost ( Yokohama advan is much better in this one area).
Unless you live in Florida or a hot southern state, you’d be a fool to buy a summer tire for daily driving. Anything under 65 degrees or during wet weather a summer tire will never out perform a good all season.
Packing 480hp in my 2018 mustang gt these tires don’t let loose at all flooring it from a 40mph roll. They do not fishtail accelerating around turns at all. Right now it is between 20-45 degrees here in north jersey with salt on the roads and these tires are amazing.
Don’t waste your money on summer tires in any state above Virginia. You will have lots of traction issues if you do. Your 300 dollar summer Michelin’s will do nothing for you unless in is 70 degrees out.
I made that mistake for years. I got 275s in the rear and 255s in front.
The Patagonia A/T R from Milestar is an all-terrain tire. Designed for use on light trucks and SUVs, the Patagonia A/T R offers drivers rugged performance on- and off-road, better grip and handling performance in dry, wet, and wintery weather conditions, and enhanced durability for a longer tread life.
Installed a few months ago, so far, so good. But <1000 miles, so far. Time will tell. The stock Wranglers were severely damaged within a few hundred miles. I had more flats than spares on multiple occasions.
Being 50 mi from a tire shop, I was basically stranded, so I just ordered these as a cheap way to avoid failing another attempt to acquire new tires. The reviews seemed mostly positive. However, my optimism wasn’t exceedingly high, considering I was in high school the last time a tire cost me $120.
I mounted them myself, didnt balance or anything, they ride quite smooth. Was so impressed by the quality I decided to leave them on and see what they have.
Decent price for a decent tire. I was going to wait a while to review these tires because I just had them installed a week ago, but here’s why I changed my mind. I was talking to my dad about the tires I bought and he actually bought the same make and model last year.
He has over 40K on them and they look like he’ll get a bit more. The tires are pretty quiet for an AT tire. In fact, to my memory they don’t seem any louder than the regular road tires I changed out for them.
If these last me as well as they have my dad, then they are well worth the entry fee.
So far so good. I had them shipped to my local Walmart and put on the next day 2 days ago. 500 miles in and they’re great. Almost all 500 miles have been highway miles. With no radio on they have a little hum to them but not very noticeable at all but that was expected with the AT tread.
Ride is smooth and they’ve handled well so far. Will update as I put more miles on them. Would recommend and buy again myself.
Designed for SUVs and light-duty pickup trucks, the tires’ optimized 5-rib tread design with lateral grooves can tackle tough off-road terrain, and yet provide superior on-road performance and handling.
They’re designed to reduce stone retention and provide increased traction and superb cornering even on light snow! These radials are available in many sizes, with your choice of blackwall or outline white letters on the sidewall.
Key features and specs of Mastercraft Courser AXT2 tires:Radial tire with optimized tread pattern. Stone armor ribs are located between tread blocks, providing a robust barrier to protect from stone drilling and rock.
Noise barrier walls provide a barrier against air that flows through the tread for a quiet ride. Tooth-like edges are embedded into the tread blocks and lock into snow (the result is improved snow braking and acceleration).
Thick, jagged cleats made of rubber grip onto large rocks, ruts, and muddy soil while protecting the tire from punctures and abrasions. DOT-approved and M+S Rated.
Ive had 2 sets of these tires an didn’t get 20k from them. I had them rotated often an kept proper amount of air checking the pressure couple times a month. Being a retired trucker of 50yrs I know tires an I THOUGHT I MAY HAVE BOUGHT A BAD SET SO I BOUGHT THE 2ND SET AN NOT 20K FROM BOTH SETS PUT TOGETHER.
I JUST BOUGHT AMERICUS 285/75/16 TO REPLACE THEM. 3RD SET OF TIRES IN 20K MILES. NO I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE TIRES.
Patriot R/T – The Patriot R/T is a rugged terrain, all season tire manufactured for light trucks and SUVs. The tread design and durable compound increase the tires soft, loose and uneven terrain performance, while they also help maintain a clean footprint and avoid stone retention.
It also offers a smoother on-road drive. The reinforced construction also boosts damage resistance, by preventing punctures, cuts and abrasions from harming the casing. The stronger compound and optimal tread design extend the usability by preventing uneven wear.
The R/T improves its controllability with the tread designs optimal surface contact. Features Rugged Terrain Tire ” The rugged tread design with the large tread blocks and high void ratio increases the soft, loose and uneven terrain traction.

Self-cleaning Tread ” The staggered tread blocks and high void ratio keep the footprint clean of mud, snow and rocks, offering a safer performance.
I loved this tire! It looks like a tire and is round. It is made of rubber and has air in it. When I brake my car, the car stops. When I push the gas pedal it moves. I like that the tire is black. Even though black colors makes one look thinner, this one looks normal.
I can tell all 4 tires come from the same family tree. They look exactly alike! I would recommend these tires but not the ones I have on my car. I need to keep them. Hope this helps you with your tire shopping.
Pricing for this aggressive tread was really below all competitors and the sidewalls have a thick barrier if protection. Live the aggressive tread fir my hunt camp. But I travel every week back and forth in the highway fir over a couple of hours each way And the tires do very well in street and off road It’s a great tire so far I am cautiously optimistic But a large truck tire fir $167 each Really??? Can’t beat it and the tire kingdom balanced and installed them fir $93 total I had them shipped directly to tire kingdom but bought them from priority tire online I saved about $800 It’s crazy good 2 thumbs up.
I like the tires. They shipped fast only 2 day from ordering to receiving them. I’ve had them on the truck for a few weeks now ride is good and relatively quiet for an aggressive tread. I have the R/T 285 60 R20.
The tires seem to be balanced good as it didn’t take much weight to even out. Would definitely buy another pair when ready. If your thinking about buying these tires do it good quality and price.
Kelly Edge A/t Features AND BENEFITS All weather traction All terrain traction Longer lasting tread life OVERVIEW The Kelly Edge A/T is an all terrain all season tire manufactured for SUVs. The tire promotes great all weather traction.
The special tread pattern design and all season tire compound work together to boost the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The tread elements maintain a firm grip on the road surface, while the compound keeps its flexibility throughout the year.
The wide grooves actively disperse water and slush from below the tire’s footprint, enhancing the wet weather traction and hydroplaning resistance. The combination of the two ensures a safer year round driving experience.
The tread’s specialized elements ensure a secure off-road performance. The staggered tread block, open shoulder design and wide grooves upgrade the soft, loose and uneven terrain traction and promote a safer drive.
These elements find grip on all road and terrain surfaces, making the model more versatile. This tread design also manages to keep the footprint clean. The tread blocks eliminate mud and snow and eject rocks stuck between the tread elements.
The constantly clean footprint further boosts the off-road traction, as the tire is never blocked from its contact with the terrain surface. The Edge A/T offers a long lasting tire life. The stronger tread blocks stabilize the tire’s footprint which actively resists tread flexing.
The stabilized tread elements evenly distribute the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking across the tread area. The equally spread out driving pressure avoids irregular tread wear formations, lengthening the tread life and the tire’s usability.
The tire compound further improves the tire’s durability. It avoids off-road damage from causing harm to the tire’s casing. In this manner, punctures, chipping and cuts are avoided, guaranteeing a safer driving experience.
Vehicle: 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ After two months of driving with the Kellys I am very pleased with them. These tires are a bit more noisy than the all seasons I had before but that does not matter to me.
The ride, handling, grip and look are excellent. They are excellent in the rain and are great for minor off roading. I expect them to be great in the snow as well. The one issue I have is that although Kelly tires are supposed to be manufactured in the USA, these tires are stamped Made in Mexico.
But overall they seem to be excellent tires and are well worth the price.
Very Disappointed !!!! I’ve had these tires for less than a year. Bumps everywhere, very noisy and the vibration is ridiculous my mechanic tells me that there are at least 2 broken bands in each tire.
I don’t drive my SUV much and I’m careful not to hit things like large potholes, the curb, etc. but hell these are All-Terrain tires they should be able to handle more impact. I guess you get what you pay for.
These went on my 97 Jeep Cherokee, and while I was expecting the typically noisy and rough ride you get with All Terrain tires, I was very surprised to find these were neither! They’re very smooth riding for AT’s, but they are a bit noisier than standard street tires.
Bottomline here? These are great tires at a good price. :).
I have hat a full set of these tires for about 3 months, with about 1000 miles on them. At first I was impressed with the ride quality, even though that made a little more noise than the Nittos I had before.
Noticed this weekend, a full chunk of rubber, an entire lug of the tread, has come off. I did not hit anything I am aware of, certainly not anything hard enough to do that kind of damage to a tire. I went with these, taking a chance, as they were a little cheaper than the Nitto/Toyo.
Now for what I will spend on a replacement for this one, I could have had the better quality Nitto. Spend the money, go with the better brand name if you are putting this kind of heavy duty tire on your truck.
Kanati is apparently made in Indonesia, and I suspect that is where the difference in quality happens. And of course, Parrish Tire on ebay, will not honor the damage either. Last time I will use them as well.
Looking for a modern, durable mud tire that’s made in the USA and won’t break the bank? The new all-season Evolution M/T from Cooper is all that and more. Available in sizes from 15″ – 20″ with 6 and 10 ply ratings, that includes a high-strength, 2-ply sidewall, Stone Barriers to help protect against damage from sharp rocks and keeps them out of the tire lugs, and Mud Slinger trenches that dispel thick mud and improve grip.
Earth Diggers tackle the harshest terrain elements with alternating mud scoops to forcefully tear up loose dirt, sand or thick mud. The Trail Grip sidewall design feature “climbers” to help grab onto rocks and sticks for your next off-road adventure.
I run a set of these tires on a roadside assistance rig at a towing company. The truck is used to go off road to retrieve stuck vehicles, and haul around about 500 lbs of tools to various calls throughout the day.
I go off road about once per shift with them. They are typical M/T tires as far as noise goes, but they have worn well, and perform great both on and off the road. Nobody has mentioned snow performance, so I’ll go ahead and discuss that.
We receive snowfall with accumulations up to a foot on a regular occasion. These tires and the Ford half ton they’re installed on perform very well when working in the snow pulling out other vehicles, and going from call to call when there’s nobody else able to drive on the roads.
I would happily recommend these tires as an experienced professional. They work great for our off road recovery rig.
I was looking at all of the standards for 35×12. 5 on Jeeps. The KO2 etc. These tires were listed as true 35″ tires vs the 34″ above. The tire has quite an aggressive tread but has great highway manners.
It is a little noisy compared with street tires but I have had much worse. I have driven on them for just over 1000 miles but so far they have performed exactly as I would want. #JeepWin #sweepstakes.
Cooper Tire has always made great tires. That’s the only tire I run on my 4Runner. I went from the Pros to the Evos. That was the best switch I did. Both are great tires but the Evos are a little quieter compared to the Pros.
They handle so well in sand and on rock if full flare or 15-20 psi. I have not had a issue with them what do ever. They have held tread great and have not lost any chunks out of them. They do very well in the rain and sleet like most of Cooper MTs.
I would hands down recommend these to anyone interested in Coopers.
The Ridge Grappler tires by Nitto are engineered for all-terrain performance. They feature a dynamic hybrid tread design for quiet and comfortable rides on roads thanks to their variable pitch tread pattern.
The lateral Z grooves and shoulder grooves in varying lengths and widths expel mud and slush for better traction and improve grip for better maneuverability. The step block edges and alternating tapered edges add biting edges for better wet and dry traction.
These tires are designed for drivers of two- and four-wheel drive trucks, vans and full-size SUV’s. Engineered to go confidently off-the beaten path and easily handle off-road conditions, the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 truck tires are comfortable navigating wet, dry, muddy, slushy or wintery conditions and perform with durability while still maintaining a smooth handling and comfortable on road experience.
The 37×13. 50R17 10Ply Terra Grappler G2 tread compound features technology such as a multi-faceted symmetric tread pattern that not only provides efficient off-road traction, but also delivers a refined drivability when driven on highways.
This pattern has aggressive independent tread blocks that provide contact with the roads surface at all times. Interlocking blocks both center and shoulder work cohesively to provide a smooth ride quality while extending the treads gripping potential onto the sidewall of the tires.
Additionally, the Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s self-cleaning, dual-traction, lug channels help provide continuous grip in mud, water, and snowy conditions, as they are able to channel the mud and slush away from the treads footprint.
Numerous sipes or biting edges and notches in the shoulder area also enhance on-road and off-road traction by improving the ratio of gripping points within the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 treads surface.
Internally, the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 truck tires are built for all-terrain toughness and durability. The body is made of polyester cord plies reinforced with twin high-tensile strength steel belts able to resist abrasions, cuts and punctures commonly encountered when navigating off-road terrain.
Reinforced plies are added in some heavy-duty applications allowing the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires to meet or exceed towing capacities of ¾ ton and 1 ton vehicles.
The Terra Grappler G2W is still the same proven all-around performer for light trucks and SUVs but it has winter capability. Its coupling joints connect the treads for rigidity and long tread life, and the full depth sipes maximize the tire’s ability to shed water to reduce hydroplaning.
The dual sidewall design provides an aggressive fin design on one side and a more traditional sidewall on the other so you can alter your truck’s look, a nice touch that allows some visual customization.
The high-void tread design is engineered to provide aggressive biting edges while promoting self cleaning. Staggered, off-center tread blocks provide increased traction while enhancing on-the-road performance.
The PATAGONIA M/T’s 3-ply sidewall† provides additional protection against impact damage, while stone ejectors combat stone drilling, especially useful for rock crawling and all-terrain exploration. Built to tackle rugged terrain anywhere you may want to explore, the PATAGONIA M/T will allow you to push your vehicle to the limit.
This is the second set of Milestar Patagonia M/T tires that I have purchased. The winter grip in Northern Minnesota is impressive. Winter drifting shenanigans in my private parking lot take much more effort with these tires then the Firestone A/T’s that where on the truck when I first acquired it.
I have had countless other brands of tires most of which were purchased once and once only for one reason or another. I will continue to buy these for my other other trucks and SUV’s as the road noise is less than that of any other M/T or aggressive A/T ie Goodyear Duratrac that I have owned.
Bought these tires over a year ago. Price was good for the look and quality. Was impressed on the side lugs and the ride. Handled really well for the aggressive tread and wasn’t too loud. Over time the noise got a lot worse and the ride as well.
Couldn’t keep them balanced and rotated enough to enjoy a smooth ride. Started wearing unevenly and it all went down hill from there. Basically got around 23,000 miles before replacement was needed. Started out excellent and just didn’t last the way I thought they should with the tread and ride that thrilled me in the beginning.
Might get better mileage if staying off road all the time. I daily drive my truck on the highway and hit trails on the weekends year around.
This Super Swampers TSL Bogger tubeless Tire is used for mud terrain light truck, SUV and made of nylon bias ply construction with 4 ply black side wall. It fits to 12 inch wide wheels and has a 25 PSI maximum pressure.
Recently purchased 2- 33x14x16 super swamper boggers for some 2wd diesel dirt drag racing. Works well with full tread but may cut smaller lugs out for better paddle style traction with 1430hp. All in all great tires I have ran them before on my jeeps.
Just wish they would offer a similar size paddle style tire to keep up with today’s people needing to “cut boggers”. Will still buy again.
As one who likes to wheel and keep that smaller rim dia. my list of over 37 im limited as tire companies not using the 15″ rim. well at least these were in my top 3 list. pandemic had me searching for tires for 16 months.
i went to all the tires guys probably 20 or more companies. i looked and looked and even paid for tires in stock 3xs that were never in stock. DTC told me(BO) they were not in stock and even waited a month just because (i NEED WHEELING TIRES) the swampers did what they do l get through stuff lol.
i noticed Summit had some new inventory and the boggers not in stock. i rolled the dice paid ordered now the 5th x and summit had them 4 delivery a week early. Thanks again Summit.
They shouldve been rated a 10. 50 wide. It is a joke they barely fit on a 12 inch wheel. You will have to find a very good tire shop that will even be able to get them to hold air and bead up. Then they will look stretched on a 12 inch wheel like a mini truck back in the mini truck days.
Off-Road Maximum Traction light truck tires are for drivers who want a combination of adequate on-road aptitude and aggressive off-road ability from tires offering the best traction when trail and terrain conditions are at their worst.
Off-Road Maximum Traction light truck tires, which are often called mud tires, are branded with the M+S symbol and are used as Original Equipment (O. E. ) on selected light- and medium-duty 4WD pickup and sport utility vehicles.
I have this set installed on a 2010 Jeep JK which is lifted. I used to run Goodyear MTRs but decided to try Toyo which my friend recommended. Now, I will never buy anything BUT Toyo. The tires are so well balanced even for 35s, the ride is very good on highway along with directional stability.
No wondering with these OC MTs. Offroad – traction is great in sand, mud and snow. I rotate my tires (5 wheel rotation) every 6K miles by hand. I do this every time I change oil and the wear is SO even.
If you don’t rotate and you get uneven wear – that’s a you problem. If you don’t get your wheels balanced – that’s also a you problem. Treating these tires properly will make them last a long time. I just got a JT Gladiator and will be putting Toyos on it as well.
My JK needs a new set as well so more money for tires and in this case – Toyo. These tires have been through the Black Rock Desert, Alabama Hills, Coyote Flats, Panoche Hills – BLM land and performed perfectly.
I was looking for a set of aggressive mud tires. After looking around I decided to go with a set 35×12. 5r17s on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Installed these February of 2012 with 100k on the truck. I have had these through 2-3 foot snow drifts, gone through some pretty nasty mud holes and towed way more weight than my truck is rated for and have never had an issue with the tires.
They do everything a mud tire is supposed to do and some things a mud tires shouldn’t do. It has done everything very well. When I bought these tires I was warned that they will only last 30-40k due to the aggressive tread pattern.
With just over 80k miles on them them now I feel like I have got my money’s worth. They are starting to show signs of age with some weather cracks, the front tires are starting to chop a little but not bad.
Mostly due to a lack of tire rotations. I have recommended and bragged about these tires often. I would strongly recommend these to anyone looking for a mud tire. If you are wondering yes they do make some noise, I feel like they are on the lower average of the mud tire world for noise.
Yes I did notice a decrease in fuel economy but I went to a larger tire from the factory size. Yes I did notice a steering difference but only until I figured out what air pressure to run the tires at.
50psi was the sweet spot on my truck lower pressure cause a wondering feel at high way speed higher pressure made the ride feel rough. I never really noticed a braking feel change tho. I hope this helps someone make a decision on these tires.
I bought these tires (37-13. 50-R17) hoping for the best. I knew when the tire shop balanced them they were going to be great. It took very minimal weight to balance them. The guy said they were as round as a Michelin street tire.
They are awesome! I rotate every 3000-3500 miles. I have 25K miles on them and they look great. No doubt I’ll get 60K+ out of them. I use my truck for daily driving, work and off road. They worked flawlessly on the trails at Uwharrie National Forest and others.
There are many factors to consider when choosing the right tires for a truck. The type of truck, the size of the truck, the weight of the truck, and the intended use of the truck all play a role in choosing the right tires.
The most important factor, however, is the safety of the truck and its occupants.
The right tires for a truck can help to prevent accidents and injuries. They can also help to improve the fuel efficiency of the truck and to extend the life of the truck. When choosing the right tires for a truck, it is important to consult with a qualified professional to ensure that the correct tires are selected.
