20 Best Toaster 4 Slice (2022 Updated)

This toaster has a few minor annoyances that our 20 year old toaster did not. First, the slots are not quite long enough to fit some breads. I didn’t think to measure the width of our multigrain loaf before purchasing this toaster.

It turns out the bread is the same length as the slots and will sometimes get hung up. You would think an engineer designing a toaster would have thoroughly investigated the width of various loafs out there.

Nowhere on Cuisinart’s website can you find the length or width of the slots. Take my word for it, they are 5½” long. Breville, KitchenAid and Black+Decker all have 6″ long slots and state so in their specs.

Another annoyance are the knobs. They offer no resistance to turning. So they can very easily get bumped off their setting. You don’t find out until you have burned your toast. Again, this seems like something that an engineer would figure out if their job was to design toasters.

Finally, it looks like it belongs in a kitchen from the 1950’s. Of course, I knew what it was going to look like when I bought it. Looks mean much less to me than functionality and durability. I just wish it was a little more modern looking.

Our old $20 toaster lasted twenty years. I have my doubts this $70 toaster will live up to that, but time will tell.

Very nice looking, however ours came with a dent on the right top side. Doesn’t affect the workings so we decided to just keep it as opposed to going through the hassle of returning it. We find the regulation of the proper temperature difficult to regulate, we do think we will get accustomed to this.

I don’t like that the crumb tray is at the back, the toaster doesn’t slide easily over the counter, so I find it annoying for cleaning the tray. All this being said we aren’t completely disappointed…just find it a bit user unfriendly at this time.

We are slowly getting accustomed to this new toaster but do wish our old one hadn’t given out after more than 20 years. Hopefully we will be able to give a better rating before too long. Our old toaster was a cuisinart and we liked it just fine.

I purchased my Cuisinart CPT-180 Metal Classic 4-Slice Toaster just last month. I am in love with this small appliance! I usually buy a new toaster yearly since they don’t last and it’s cheaper to get a new one.

I won’t have that issue with my Cuisinart. I immediately noticed better functionality, better designed slots and quicker turn around time. I did not have to continually adjust the dial to find an appropriate setting.

It cooks right EVERY time and I am using it daily! It wipes clean and despite being a 4 slot, it does not take up excess room. I know I will get years of enjoyment from my Cuisinart 4 slot Toaster and I highly recommend this product.

Only one complaint with this toaster and it’s the fact that even though it has many settings for ‘doneness’ the number 1 setting which would normally be lightly toasted is not. I like to have that option as a cheap $15 toaster will do it I feel like this one should do.

And it don’t toast completely evenly like you would expect since it was a very expensive toaster imo. Otherwise I do love it and use it often. I love the 4 toast slots, that are big enough for big bagels and the pull up levers as to not burn your hands.

Frozen things like toaster strudel are the only things that require a higher setting than 1 for me unfortunately. It looks really nice on the counter!!.

This toaster clearly is an improvement over our old one. It holds a thicker piece of bread and is deeper so that even the top of the bread is toasted. Because I make most of our bread, height is a consideration.

The bread is nicely toasted and not dried out in the center. The toaster does have a larger footprint but is well worth the small amount of extra counter space. Purchasing it from Sam’s makes it an even better value.

We’re most pleased with this purchase.

This is a great toaster. I have had other toasters that allowed dialing in the toast level but unlike those this actually made a difference in how it tastes not just in the toast color. I like how it comes out crispy not burnt crispy.

This toaster was about $10 cheaper from this seller (when I bought it) than the other online giant granted It was not going to be delivered the next day but I was not in a hurry. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

I needed a new toaster, after all my years of having a regular 2 slice toaster, different brands, I said “Thats it” I want something different! Well I needed a new one and this is NEW! It has long slots, and a Piece that goes across the top to warm up or keep warm toast or whatever.

I just used it to, well warm up a Bagel, it was hot and crunchie on the bottom where it sits on the rack, I then said let me toast it, I REALLY never knew a Bagel could be so nice and toasty, Number 2 setting, light and warm, It was delicious! I, so far, am satisfied with MY new Toaster!.

This basic toaster replaced an older basic toaster, also made by GE. The toaster is good overall, but it does have some quirks. First, the appearance of the toaster is very simple and modern, with a stainless steel finish and let lights surrounding the buttons.

The LED lights are very crisp and illuminate nicely. I also liked that the cord was long enough to wrap around the bottom of the toaster in the case the outlet is on the opposite side of the toaster from where the cord comes out.

For toast made with regular bread, I found that settings less than 3 can be a bit unpredictable in the darkness of the toast. Most times, setting 1 will just warm the bread with no browning. Setting 2 will yield a very light brown, a bit uneven, with no browning at the top of the bread.

Setting 2. 5 was has the most variation, with medium brown on one side and only light brown on the other. Setting 3 provided light brown on both sides and took two minutes. Setting 4 added about 15 seconds to the toasting time and yielded a nice medium brown on both sides.

Once at setting 5, at least one side of the bread yields a medium to dark brown. For bagels, there is a separate setting. However, you need to refer to the book in order to know which direction to put the bagel halves in.

On my last GE toaster, there was a picture on the front of the toaster that reminded me. I found the setting at 1. 5 provided an excellent result, with good warmth and no color. Higher settings result in graduated browning.

I found the bagel setting to be very consistent and predictable. I did not try anything on the frozen setting yet.

While I don’t normally assess the looks of kitchen appliances, I think it is an attractive toaster with its use of a stainless-steel housing, buttons, and levers. There are two sets of controls on front of the toaster, each controlling two toasting slots on either side.

The bread slots are normal sized – meaning that you can place a slice of bread or a bagel in each one, but nothing too thick or too long. There are three buttons for each toaster pair, as well as one turn knob for controlling how well done the slices will be when finished.

The three buttons are: Bagel, Frozen, and Cancel. When you put a slice or two in the toaster and push down the lever, the Cancel button illuminates by default. Pressing Cancel stops the cooking process and raises the lever allowing you to easily eject whatever you’re toasting.

If you are toasting a bagel, push down the lever, and then press the Bagel button. In doing so, both the Cancel button and the Bagel button will be illuminated. If the item you are toasting is frozen, push down the lever and press Frozen.

As with the Bagel option, the Frozen button and Cancel button will illuminate. Okay, so how does it toast? Well, I’ve toasted a number of slices of bread to find out. A thick slice of Rye bread required setting the doneness knob to the number 5.

By comparison, that same thick sliced Rye bread would be done on a 2 ½ setting on my old toaster. On this toaster, I initially had it on 4 but it wasn’t toasted to my liking. So, I had to increase the doneness to 5 to get it how I liked it.

A regular slice of bread was perfectly done at 4. I am merely pointing out that you’ll have to play with the toaster to find which doneness levels work best for you. I haven’t run into any problems with overcooking or undercooking on one side versus the other.

And both sides of this 4-slice unit worked equally as well. We toasted the thick sliced Rye bread I mentioned, a normal slice of white bread at room temperature, and a slice of frozen white bread. All came out to our liking.

The frozen slice, of course, required us to press the Frozen button at the outset. We don’t normally keep bagels at home, so we haven’t tried those as yet. But we’ve always had to smash the bagels thinner to get them to fit our toasters.

I’m curious to see if the same is required with this toaster. All in all, this toaster does exactly what we expected it to do: toast our bread quickly and uniformly. Plus, it is attractive whether it is being used for toasting or simply sitting there looking pretty.

The GE 4-Slice Toaster certainly does the job if you like toasted bread, bagels, etc. However, it also has some features that make it stand out from the basic toaster. Following are the pros: – Easy to read Operating Instructions with illustrations.

– It has separate crumb trays on each side that are easy to remove for cleaning. – It has a nice-looking stainless steel finish that doesn’t show fingerprints and is easy to clean with just warm, soapy water.

– I have toasted bread on several different level settings (what they call the Shade) and found it to toast evenly on both sides of the bread and true to what I expected, based on the Shade it was set for.

– There is a Frozen setting. I tested some frozen bread and it worked great on that setting. Both sides were equally toasted and also true to the Shade level. – Time needed to toast was what I would expect based on the Shade setting.

– It also has a Bagel setting that can be used for Bagels or even for English Muffins or frozen waffles. This works well and gave me a nicely toasted Bagel. The slots are plenty big, even for a thick bagel.

– There is a Cancel button, which is a nice feature I have not seen before on a toaster. Just in case you ever want to end a toast cycle early, you can use the Cancel button instead of trying to force up the toaster lever.

I didn’t find any cons to report, as everything works well for me. If you are in need of a new toaster and if you also like to toast frozen bagels, english muffins or waffles, I would recommend this toaster.

I just love this toaster. I can finally toast two bagels at one time. Even if they are frozen, you can defrost and toast all at the same time. This toaster also toasts up to 4 slices of bread. Depending on how small the bread you may be able to toast more.

The bread comes out very nicely toasted. You need to watch your toast or whatever you’re toasting the first time. The setting run a little hotter than most toasters I’ve had.

Very happy with the Elite Cuisine 4 Slice Long Slot Cool Touch Toaster. Finally a toaster that allows you to fit four pieces of sliced bread and saves countertop space. This toaster has 4 slots that are extra wide which allows you to accommodate up to 4 slices of bread, even bagels.

The removable crumb tray works amazing, just slide it out and you are done. The dial allows you to turn to give you up to 6 shade settings, and while toasting, the Elite Cuisine 4 Slice Long Slot Cool Touch Toaster stays cool to the touch, not like other toasters where the inside and outside are hot.

Very easy to use and clean, and if you are concerned about space, this toaster got you covered. The toaster is longer than other toasters, yet narrower which saves you on countertop space. Good quality materials and priced at a great value.

Overall, the toaster is full of features that are not found in other toasters, like a reheat setting, cancel button and defrost settings. Is this amazing or what? Get one, your whole household will thank you.

I thought buying a better, more expensive brand and model would pay off. It did not. The item was packed very well but still the plastic casing was cracked and broken. And the worst part is that even on the lowest setting of 1, it still over cooks the toast.

I have to press the reheat button to cook toast, and defrost to cook a bagel, just to keep from burning them. I bought a warranty but they don’t permit returning it, only replacement.

We like the size and look of this toaster, it complements our kitchen well! It has all of the functions we like and use often. The slots are wide enough for a bagel or thicker bread. You can easily lift the knob to raise the toast for easy removal.

We especially like that the cord can be kept short and out of sight, no more winding it behind the toaster to hide. We have been using this toaster for over a month and have had no problems. We can toast the bread to our preference but did take away a star because it is not always on the first try and have wasted a few pieces of bread.

Once we determine what setting each type of bread should be toasted at it comes out great! We were not sure we would like the plastic exterior but it does clean up better than the stainless exterior on our previous toaster.

I have had this toaster now for over 5 years. I only use the right side since there is only two of us in the house. The benefit of having 4 slots is that if you get lazy, instead of cleaning the side you use, flip to the other side.

I have done that. I had a piece of toast break off and I forgot to get it out, so the next morning, I used the left side. This is a large toaster since there are 4 slots, so if you do not have a lot of counter space, keep that in mind.

I like this toaster because it is stainless steel and looks very modern. I like the bagel setting so that it will really give the bagel a nice toasting. I like a good crust on my toast and I need to put my setting almost to the darkest setting minus two notches to get a good toasting on my bread.

You will have to play around with the setting to get the right crust, it takes some adjusting. I like the big slots so you can do big thick slices of bread. I have cooked sausage patties in this, but it can get messy.

Despite good reviews on saveur, this toaster’s performance did NOT match the results that they reported. We have an older toaster that works, but toasts one side of the bread slices darkly and the other side of each is very light.

After reading reviews, I thought it might be worth a try to get a toaster that toasted evenly on both sides of the bread slice. That was my goal with this purchase. Instead, this toaster did even worse than the one I have now in that regard.

We were very disappointed, so we have returned the toaster for refund. Sorry, Cuisinart, but you didn’t get it right.

We have had the toaster for about a month and have found it to be excellent, great controls and toasts very well. I would have given 5 stars except for the following which I consider to be deceptive advertising: I was disappointed because the package said it had a ‘single slice toaster’, a slot that was identified as the single slot to use and a button to push to provide the toasted single piece of bread.

That was considered really important in the purchase because we often have only a single slice and I believed that only that slot was ‘activated’, being energy conscious. When I tried it, It turns out that the two slots on the right of the 4-slicer toaster both heated up as in normal toasting but, of course, one was empty.

At first I thought it was defective, It was only when I read the instruction manual, only available after purchase when you open the package, that the ‘single slice toaster’ meant that it would provide even toasting on both sides of the single piece of bread.

I had to read several times to fully understand the statement. I was totally underwhelmed and a little angry. I would have returned the toaster but that was more trouble than it was worth and it is a good 4- and 2-slice toaster and as far as I could tell, all sides of the toast were adequately toasted.

I haven’t been satisfied with this toaster since I first got it. I use it rarely. It does not toast evenly at all. Bagels, English muffins, toaster, nothing comes out nicely browned. One side is uncooked and the other is unevenly brown.

I usually flip it over and redo with far from perfect results. And yes, as others have mentioned, the handle to pull the toast down takes a few tries unless you’re heavy handed. I’m going to donate it because it’s not broken.

The weird thing is this toaster has higher ratings than any of the others I’m now shopping for as replacement. I guess I can at least get one that matches the rest of most of my small appliances (Breville).

I do have a Vitamix blender – love it, perfect and a KitchenAid stand mixer (love it too). My microwave(excellent), toaster oven/air fryer (perfect), tea gizmo, and bread machine are Breville. I see the ratings for the Breville toasters are filled with people who say they are faulty.

I think I’ll risk it though because I’ve had good luck for all their other products.

I wanted a “wide-slot” toaster to toast hamburger buns instead of using the oven broiler, for two people. My wife found the Cuisinart toaster while we were at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and its polished metal finish matched the Cuisinart coffee maker we had purchased about a year earlier.

The deep depressible slots and the selection of breads the toaster can manage and accommodate are definitely plus-rated features. And thus far, it works as advertised. Seems to be a well designed and manufactured product.

Toasting is a challenge. What seems to be an easy task isn’t so easy, and it seems like toaster politics to me! I think that some toaster ovens take a longer time to toast so I wanted try this model after a few failures last week with some online exclusive small brands.

I had owned a wonderful Breville Convection Oven toast w/o the air fryer that I gave away as a gift after buying another oven but my wife wanted a simpler way to toast given that the oven took up so much space for everyday use and wasn’t easy to haul back and forth and use.

So I researched and bought a toaster. I loved the timer but It didn’t fit my favorite Panera Bread so I started researching long toasters. Bought one and was displeased with the toasting capability and that the timer was sufficient in extending enough toasting time to produce the results I neeeded.

The long toasters like this model and many others have had many critical reviews. People complaining about the toasting quality and machine durability. This model has been out for many years and I’m sure improvements were made.

Regardless long toasters have received a bad rap, regardless of brand. After reading all this for days, I found that only a certain percentage of people were happy with long toaster performance in general.

It didn’t matter the brand, because to people toasting is truly a matter of personal taste, like cooking, clothing, fragrance, design, etc! So I got this model and one thing that struck me was the higher wattage.

The Panera Bread tomato basil bread had lots of toasting performance problems in my previous purchases and returns but here with the Bit More model, I finally landed on 3 on the slider, rather than the higher numbers of other models where the toasting wasn’t sufficient regardless of number! There is a big restaurant quality difference in toasting quality and performance here.

I am very pleased and if the toaster fails, I’ll get the same model or the upgrade. The performance is worthy of investment. The bottom line is a full American breakfast with Vegan eggs and Vegan Cheese is important to me.

The toast is everything and toasting performance cannot be compromised. The experience is enhanced with the bit more function which offers insurance that I will get the toasting right the first time w/o starting a fresh cycle.

This investment grade toaster fills the bill!.

I bought this toaster 4 months ago and finally just took it out of the box 3 weeks ago once I moved into my new place. I am starting from scratch and was looking for high-quality small appliances that classed up my kitchen.

My mother owns numerous Breville products that instilled a sense of jealousy in me every time I entered her kitchen. She owns the model up from this toaster that automatically raises and lowers the toast.

Clicking the “a bit more” button was a luxury experience. It gave me the perfect toast every time. I never ruined the fancy bread I splurged on. It felt like I was truly living in the future and all is good in the world.

I love to host and provide my guests with amazing coffee and toast in the morning. It’s something that genuinely matters to me. I am known for my attention to detail and this toaster seemed like the perfect addition.

My income is less than my mother’s, so I had to save up for this toaster. Taking this toaster out of its box was an experience that I can only describe as unadulterated bliss. Sure I didn’t have the luxury of having a button to lower and raise the toast, but I had a new long slot toaster that would prevent me from over toasting bread (due to the “lift and look” and “a bit more” features.

) Imagine my disappointment when I noticed that every piece of long toast that I placed in the toaster was left uncooked on one side since there are no heating elements in the middle of the toaster. In the quest for an evenly toasted piece of bread, I am again relegated to flipping my toast halfway through its cycle and hoping for the best.

This effort is often futile and I burn or undercook certain sections of the bread. I have tried many different strategies here. This toaster makes creating a piece of toast an art, rather than a seamless endeavour.

To further my suffering, I opened the toaster after its warranty period ended so I can’t return it. Its stainless steel build leads me to believe that it won’t break down anytime soon. This factor combined with the fact that it was a significant investment, means I will not be able to justify getting a new toaster.

This means that my guests and I will be eating uneven toast from this visually beautiful toaster for the foreseeable future. I do feel let down by this one Breville. I don’t want to live with poorly cooked toast for a significant portion of my life.

I bought this from Crate and Barrel a few months ago and only used it a few times. This particular model the long slot toaster is so noisy when it pops up, then you can’t get the toast out without lifting the handle and then it isn’t even high enough to get it out without burning your fingers.

Sometimes you have to unplug it and use a knife to get it out, and lastly you put it on a setting and the first set of toast comes out fin but subsequent pieces burn on same setting. Now this same model in the shorter version works fine as we were just staying with friends who have it, although they did say this is their second one as the heating elements burned out.

Customer service was awful first Crate and Barrel would not let me return it in the specified amount of time as they said it was used, and secondly Breville wants me to make a video which since I am not computer savvy enough to know how to download a video or know how to send it is unacceptable.

This toaster was 100. 00$ my cheap 20$ worked better. So now I’m out !00$ not a great feeling.

Replaced my 30-year-old, off white 2 slice Sunbeam toaster with a lovely black, Black and Decker 4 slice toaster. I especially like that you can lift up the lever which lowers the bread, so you have access to the bread without having to use toast tongs or fork if bread is lower than the top of the toaster.

The old one works but had trouble getting consistent toasting. – too light or burnt. We’ve used the new one twice, happy thus far. It does take up a bit more counter space, but the two control knobs it appears it is looking at us.

This is a toaster what more can I say. The look and design is nice, sleek. I am a bit concerned about how the toast/bagel pops up. You have to push it down hard and make it sort of click for the toast to pop up when its done, otherwise if you push it down lightly it won’t pop up.

Don’t ask me why I have tried it over and over quite a few times and you have to make an effort to push the lever or what ever you want to call it down hard for the toast/bagel to pop up. And like any other toaster you got to play with the buttons to get the right desire of doneness.

Other wise its nice, I am okay with it. If I was out looking again for toasters after trying this one out I think I would want to try others more before I bought this one again. But on the plus size the slots are differently big enough for bagels.

I have not tried anything frozen in them yet so can not comment on that.

Had an older model for about 20 yrs and I loved it. Bought this newer model hoping that it will last just as long. It is made a bit cheaper , which does make it a bit lighter which is not a bad thing now that I am older.

I have made bagels and it noticed that the slots are a bit wider than the older model, a great improvement! Works great so far ! Have used it many times so far and I am very happy !.

I tried to return this “toaster” but it was outside the return window. I honestly don’t understand how people like this toaster. It feels both flimsy and clunky. It has no consistency in the toasting.

Not really any rhyme or reason to the options. I spent plenty of time reading up on it. Nothing of substance. It feels so random what I’m going to get. I don’t think it’s a defective one either. It’s not that the same position toasts the differently, it’s that there’s no way to know where it’s actually going to wind up on the toast cycle.

It’s also such a dumb interface set up. The interface is an insane combination of buttons and dials and levers that don’t even really seem like they should be on the same device. Some parts are cheap and plastic-y.

It takes a long time to toast. If it undertoasts then you can’t just click it down or have a quick setting. Nope. Readjust. Ah, not enough. Now it’s burnt. Go back to where it was set. Oh you don’t know? The level of toastedness is inexplicably long so it really just is a joke in terms of its precision.

Honestly give me a $5 toaster from the thrift store. Bummed I waited too long to return it and now I own a stupid counter appliance that does nothing.

I had the Cuisinart 4 slice toaster for YEARS, and it finally went kaput. Since it’s now just my husband and myself, I thought I’d just buy the two slice Cuisinart toaster. OMG this toaster only toasts one side of the bread.

I’ll freeze half a loaf of bread because it’ll expire before we’d fiiish the loaf. So I’d put one frozen slice in the toaster, hit the defrost, then set it to the usual temp that I like my toast to be.

Well, it never comes out the same. One day it’s too dark, and the next day far too light. I’m going to donate this lemon and try a different brand. This product was suppose to make our lives easier, but all it does is frustrate me and wastes our money.

Great functionality! Easy to use with common sense settings that you can actually use to time your toasting process. There is even a cancel function. Never burn your toast again! Great looking brushed stainless steel finish that matches our other appliances.

This is a really nice toaster with nice features at a low cost. Much nicer than comparably priced ‘name brand’ toasters. Especially like the digital closk showing time remaining to finish. Nice feature.

This is a great toaster. I got so tired of having to double my toast because the old toaster (Oster) did not toast one side. This toaster does it perfectly. Highly recommend!

This Toaster is pretty good at the beginning. However, this is the 3rd one I had to buy because one side of the toaster stops working after 7 months. We have to hold it in with our own hands for that side of the toaster to work which is pretty annoying.

At first, I kept buying it because I thought it was maybe just overworked. However, this is NOT the case. We have one toaster that works alot and one that we barely used and both of them had the same issue which makes me believe that it is a manufacturing issue.

This tends to happen just after 6 months and their warranty states they will not repair or replace if it has been “overworked” which is why I have not used their warranty because they can easily say that it was just overworked and that you need to buy a new one.

At this point I rather just buy an expensive 500 dollar toaster that will guarantee to work at least over a year.

I bought this toaster with the expectation that a Waring Commercial toaster would be high quality but it is NOT. Toast cam out nice and brown on one side and barely blonde on the other. This was true of all four bread slots.

The material feels cheap. not what you expect from a $200 toaster. This was promptly returned.

Pluses: Generous sized slots, user friendly controls, generous wattage, solidly built, toasts evenly on both sides of bread or bread product, easy to clean. Negative: The interior components of the unit is heavily lubricated with machine oil.

Be forewarned that you will you should NOT operate this inside your home or building until you burn off all the machine oil – otherwise you room will be filled with acrid, lung irritating fumes. What I did to burn of the machine oil was to operate the toaster OUTSIDE the building around 20 toasting cycles per side of the toaster.

And after that I left the toaster outside in the hot sun all day long and into the night to ventilate it. Was this an exaggeration on my part? No it was not, it was necessary. Read the Amazon reviews for same reaction.

However, be assured that you can burn off all the machine oil with some patience. I am now satisfied with the toaster after having with burned of the machine oil – there are no fumes now. A.

It does the job. Toast is usually uniformly toasted although not always. The slots are somewhat smaller than I had hoped. The bread we consistently use is 4″x5″x3/4″ and we have to manually push it down in the toaster – they will not drop when the toaster is activated.

So, all in all, it does its job and works well for an inexpensive toaster.

I’ve had this toaster 4 months and had no issues until I heard a loud pop noise and then smoke started coming out of the toaster. I could smell that it was electrical components in the toaster burning and not my bread.

Thankfully I was standing right there and was able to quickly pop the post up the toast and unplug it.

it is nice and simple. The slots are wide and it toast good. very slick looking. Light weight nice. As it turns out I guess we are a Procter Silex family cause the one that we are replacing is a Procter Silex one.

This is a great toaster. I love it for the fact that it can accommodate 4 slices. However, for the price point that I’m paying for this particular appliance I feel like it should toast a little bit more evenly.

I do like the feature that it beeps when your toast is ready. I also appreciate the fact that toast from frozen and different types of thickness of bread such as bagels. If you’re looking for is for a splurge item this is definitely a bit however I’m not sure if it’s worth the cost that we paid for it.

I am very disappointed in this toaster. It toasts very unevenly so the bread comes out brown on one part and white on others. It is extremely slow and thin small pieces fall in between the wire holders in the slots.

There is no lift up when toast is done. This is worse than much less expensive appliances. I am sorry I bought it. I thought I was getting the best and got the worst.

This is a wonderful toaster. The keep warm button after toasting works great. Top notch. This will last a life time. I recommend this toaster. If I could I would give 7 stars.

I purchased many items from smeg. This toaster, the teapot, the mixer, the espresso machine the frother. All expensive junk – not sure why Williams Sonoma is carrying this. To be fair, I always had a feeling that the sales folks at the store in Williams Sonoma were saying it is great while sending a subliminal message to stay away from it.

So this toaster just shorted. Apparently the wires (the heating lines) tore and one spiked into the sliding system which caused a short. I saw that a few of the lines there are coming out and getting ready to tear.

This is for that this toaster. Not cheap but is not backed by quality. The mixer i thought was ok not great but then I recently purchased an Ankarsrum (not sure why Williams Sonoma is not carrying this one) and realized how useless my Smeg mixer really is (Kitchen Aid is another disaster btw).

On the Smeg mixer, the mincing is crap – try making chilli with that, kneading dough is a joke. The espresso machine and frother. I don’t use it anymore – disappointing results. I can tell you, everyday I wake up thinking when I will finally decide to throw these ones in the garbage and buy something new.

We bought the Smeg larger 4-slice toaster which fits those monster size pieces of sourdough bread quite lovely. Now, for such a simplified appliance my opinion is that it’s way too expensive for what it is- although its weight feels pretty heavy duty.

I was very concerned about the bad reviews but I love the color red and was drawn to this toaster. Upon arrival, we actually READ THE INSTRUCTIONS and found the appliance to work seamlessly and as expected.

There are very specific instructions about the settings and the numerical dial. I think the folks having trouble with these units have not read the instructions, rather just “plug & played” which is going to yield you some frustrating questions.

So long as it provides us with years of service, I would probably purchase again as their color options, designs, and style makes this a terrific piece for any kitchen.

I purchased the 2-slice Matte White Toaster and I absolutely love it. Aesthetically, it is an amazing addition to my boho/Scandinavian/mid-century modern-styled kitchen. The matte white color looks great next to my matte white Keurig coffee maker.

The 2-slice toaster doesn’t take up as much counter space and is perfect for my personal needs. As far as functionality goes, the toast always comes out perfectly toasted every single time. I am now looking into buying some of the accessories that Smeg offers, like the bun warmer and sandwich racks.

If you are considering it, just make the plunge and buy the Smeg Toaster!.

This toaster is great for any kitchen that is loaded with useful features! The exterior design is sleek, sophisticated and modern. This is a nice upgrade to any kitchen! The control knows are very easy to use and I can easily adjust them to my liking for a variety of my favorite foods, like toast, bagels, waffles and pastries.

The defrost function works very well and I have tried this with frozen bread and bagels. The removable crumb tray is a life-saver and makes toaster maintenance a breeze. I really like the browning control know as well, which makes the perfect toast every time with the right timing! The overall construction of this toaster is awesome and was built to last.

I recommend this product based on quality and value.

OK. As toasters go, it cooks evenly, has wide slots for an assortment of breads and baked items, and the dials are simple and uncluttered. The same can be said about numerous toasters out there without the hefty price tag.

But come on? In a kitchen where bench realestate is precious, this baby is gorgeous. More copper colour than rose gold but in a good way. It does show some finger marks, but wipes clean as it has a coated finish.
