20 Best Toddler Kitchen Stool (2022 Updated)

I purchased Learning Tower so my grandson & I could cook together. This is the best safety item I have purchased for him. He easily climbs in & out all by himself and at the same time he is safe. Easy for my husband to assemble.

Happy with the quality of the product also.

My 23 month old has been using the tower a few months now, and while he loves it, I don’t necessarily. It is very sturdy but of course bulky and so heavy to move around so he likes to help cook then wash dishes and portability is not something this tower has.

The feet are important to make sure it doesn’t tip over but it’s also a great place to stub your toe. He can’t crawl in and out because of age mostly but will still try to climb in himself. So we had to put cardboard around the inside to close the openings.

I almost wish there was a piece or option to close off the gaps from the outside so there was no place for them to try to climb in until they were old enough. Also without the cardboard there I feel he could accidentally step out and injure himself.

It’s a cool idea and really sturdy but really expensive and not necessarily as convenient for a parent as you might hope. This will likely change some as my little guy gets older.

I love this stool. I chose this one specifically because it can hold both my toddlers at once. It folds down which is awesome. My husband thinks that is the best part of it. It is easy to clean and they have fun with it just getting in and out.

I’m comfortable with both (2 and 4) getting in and out on their own. It’s fastened securely where they cannot reach it. I’m satisfied with this stool in every way.

Overall, we really like this kitchen helper. It is sturdy and obviously well built, the folding function is simple and works extremely well, it stands independently even when folded, and it cleans easily with a wet sponge.

That said, since we have a small kitchen we do keep it folded most of the time, and it’s a little awkward to move that way because it lacks a handle and/or some kind of brace or hood to keep it from opening up.

(It’s also a little illogical that the floor folds toward the closed side, it would be easier to get crumbs and whatnot out if it was opposite. But we can change that ourselves with an allen wrench. ).

We bought this to use with our grandchildren. Upon opening the package, I was instantly impressed with the quality of the tower. How wonderful to not have to put it together; it was ready to go after adding the feet.

The fold-up design makes sense in our kitchen. I highly recommend this product.

I am particular about training my children to take small responsibilities and this chair has proved ideal to encourage my toddler to join me at the kitchen counter. He gets his little tasks to help me clean veggies and help with dishes and we have a great time as he learns new tricks.

These steps have a very good grip and he safely climbs using the firm grip of the handles. The frame is well-designed and this stool balances well and remains sturdy when my little man occasionally tries unexpected maneuvers on his stool.

I can easily clean and maintain it and I am pleased.

She says she loves to help mommy and I am glad to have her join me at the counter and easily reach around thanks to this step-up stool. It is sturdy and the grip is great for her to safely climb on or off and stand on this stool.

It is water-proof and it has been easy to clean off stains when she spilled her watercolors on it. Very conveniently designed and light, due to which I can easily carry this around.

The finish is like formica, not wood, and the edges are painted in an effort to make them match the yellowish natural finish. There were chips here and there, which had to be filled and touched up. All in all, it’s not very good quality.

This step stool needs to be assembled, not too complicated with power tools. However, this is the second time that we bought KidKraft brand from Zulily, and both times the product was somehow defected in assembly.

One single screw will not go on for this stool. I tried to switch out different screws, changed the direction of the white plastic insert back and forth 180 degrees 90 degrees, nothing worked. that one spot the screw will not go on.

Anyway the stool is currently functional without one screw.

I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. My husband assembled it and found the directions font to be very small. It took awhile to study the directions but once he sorted the parts and understood the process it was easy enough to assemble.

We found the screw that secures the platform to be useless. If you install it, the unit cannot be folded…which is the reason I bought this model. A latch would be a better option but we just left the screw off and the step is still very stable.

My daughter loves the stool because it folds compactly and my granddaughter (15 months) loves standing at the counter. I was also pleasantly surprised that one of the side bars has a latch to retract the bar so she can climb up on it when she is a little older.

Great purchase! Very sturdy and not hard to assemble. Love that it can fold (for a cheaper price then the ones that don’t). My two yr old loves it and has a safe way to participate in baking/cooking etc.

To fold up you need to remove one screw on the platform. My friend lost that screw and she said it doesn’t impact her daughter using it at all. Our son uses it daily so we never store it.

Great stand for my 1 year old. She loves to watch what I’m doing In the kitchen. Meal prep just became significantly easier. Came in great condition, easy to put together, folding together is a plus to save room.

I would definitely recommend this product. But always use supervised.

Cheap feeling and flimsy. Anti slip texturing is a mere suggestion and undone by any amount of water on the plastic- which is inherently a slippery surface. You cannot stack the smaller stool on top of the base either, which would improve the design and utility.

Returning.

The stool was easy to build because it came with all the tools needed. I like that there are 2 steps to help my (almost) 2 year old climb up. However, I knocked one star off because the original product details said it was 11 inches in height (now it says 10.

9). Our current stool is 10 inches and I thought that extra inch would have been perfect because it’s just what our toddler needs to reach the faucet. But the height is actually 10 inches and the extra.

9 is just the little bumps at the top. So basically it’s the same thing as I already owned but with the extra step.

This stool is very cute and simple. It is what it says-a simple step stool. After initial assembly, my three year old daughter tried it and didn’t like it because it wobbles when she moved from the first to the second step.

The holes are pre-drilled, so I would think it should have gone in fine. , but I guess not. I loosened all the screws and attempted to twist the configuration so there would be less/no wobble. I ended up sitting on the stool to keep it in position while my husband tightened the screws.

This did take away 95% of the wobble, or enough to appease my daughter. It would be nice if this could fold up to put away, but oh well.

Got this for my 2 year old for Christmas and she loved it. The height is tall enough for her to reach the sink to brush teeth and short enough if she falls no serious injury would occur. I also love the detailing on the steps that make it slip resistant.

The detail is intricate engraved designs. It’s sold wood and very easy to assemble. The kit came with the assembly tool and very heavy duty screws. I was very impressed with the quality and feel it will last a long time.

I’ve bought one before for my niece and nephews, so maybe it’s because the one I have now is painted versus the natural wood, but the quality wasn’t great. There were nicks, imperfections that made certain parts rough where they scratch you if you run against it and there were pieces that were dirty when I unpacked it.

I had to clean it before I put it together and just wasn’t happy that it came out of the box this way for this price. That aside, my son loves the ease of climbing into it and being able to help in the kitchen.

We have many items from the guide craft, the Montessori learning tower have been used for at least 3 years and now we are using a double because my 10 months old is a confident walker and willing to help like his big brother.

We’ve never had an issue with their kitchen helper or with any other toys or furniture. The quality is spectacular.

When my husband tried to lower it the hardware fell apart and the screws got stripped, it’s brand new shouldn’t happen. The mat is terrible to take on and off and gets really dirty so it’s a huge pain and time consuming.

The clip for the net is very tight and also not easy to use All and all I wish we didn’t get it.

I was a little weary getting this one since it had no reviews, but it was the design I wanted and was within my tight budget, so I took a chance, and so glad I did! It looks great, and is very sturdy.

My two year old loves it! It’s the perfect height for our countertops so my toddler can see what we’re doing and get involved. After showing her to duck under the bar, she has no problem climbing up and down herself.

The platform also has a couple of grip strips so her little feet have traction up there, making it even safer! My husband had no issue assembling it. Apparently it separates into another tower/stool as well but we haven’t tried that feature yet.

Other toddler towers are much more pricey but this is exactly what I wanted. Very happy.

This product is amazing. I was able to assemble in less than 15 minutes. We have had it in our house less than 24 hours and my 4 year old twins have had the best time with it. It has more uses than even described.

My twins used it to help me make dinner last night, then used it as a desk, a chair, turned it into a train car and this morning used the chalkboard side as an easel and cooperatively created some art pieces this morning.

I can not say enough great things about this product!.

Main issue is the item arrived with the blackboard split where the screw holes had been pre-drilled see photos. Attempting to utilize in this condition. Only option is to return entire item? It would be excellent if we could replace just the blackboard piece.

Ordering a new one and returning this one. The excitement of our toddler to help in the kitchen means we will order another and return this one upon receipt.

Grandma and Grandpa got our daughter this for an early birthday gift and its everything we ever wanted and more! The quality is great and we love that it can be used several ways! Our daughter will be 2 in December and climbs this thing like a champ! We did add some anti slip strips on the step and the edge of the climber so we dont have to worry about her slipping in her footie pjs! Overall great product!.

We use these in our kitchen and bathrooms for our kids to have independence whether its using the washroom or washing there hands. the grips on the bottom help on hardwood and tile to keep them safe even when out of sight.

I got this mobile helper with the thought that my 1. 5 year old would be the primary user, but my 4 year old is actually enjoying it so much! Putting together the mobile helper was super easy. It was the first time my husband drilled into plastic so initially he was a little confused but once he did it and it was sturdy, he was fine.

Assembly was really quick and easy. The colors are great, nice and neutral. My 4 year old will help me cook or have a snack and talk with me at the island while I cook, which is nice for both of us. Really nice product!.

The Mobile Helper is the perfect step stool for a toddler who loves to be in the kitchen. Our little one loves to help stir and “cook” and this allows him to do it safely. We love how he can climb up the steps and have his very own space.

He loves that he has 2 holders for his cup and snacks. The design fits well in our kitchen and it’s super easy to move and wipe clean. We had been looking at a few wooden step stools online but I’m glad Step 2 came out with this one! They always have the best stuff!.

First off, I don’t write much reviews. I mostly just read them and decide whether to get the item or not. This time around, I feel obliged to join the bandwagon because Kitchen Buddy is that good! Aside from all the bells and whistles that everyone’s been gloating about, the price and what we get out of this is what prompted me to buy it.

When I compare this to others out there, it’s no brainer this is it. And boy am I glad to have gotten it. My boy is 15 months old right now, and he’s developing an attachment complex lately. My boy’s been asking to be cuddled more, that means I had to take him in my arms on demand.

Well when I’m having to make his formula and needs both my hands at once, I had to let him down; and he would throw such a tantrum. That’s where this Kitchen Buddy comes in and saves the day. Somehow, when I have to be doing dishes, making his formula, or just cooking up some of his gu-like food, I’d pull up this Kitchen Buddy beside my work area, and setting him there, he throws no tantrum anymore; he’s willingly situated on this magical piece of furniture with out a fuss.

I see it that he’s just wanting to be part of what I’m doing at the time. And with this Kitchen Buddy around, he’s on the right height, and he gets to touch and fiddle with what I give him. What a life saver.

Now I’m a home dad, but I’m also an engineer. I must let everyone know that the safety rails on the elevated platform makes me feel safe with my boy on the step stool. I’d be washing some dishes, having my hands wet and lathered with soap, and in the back of my mind, I was thinking, if I use a furniture that doesn’t have that back rail, if he were to fall, what a mess it’d be if I have to throw down the dishes and go catch this guy.

So that’s a big plus that this piece of furniture is so safe. Anyways, what great 40 bucks spent at WalMart this year; even at 50 or 60, it’s still well worth the extra shelling while other sell for over 90 bucks, some of those are missing the safety rails that this one has.

Hope this review helps others make their right decisions. I think if you have an up and coming toddler, this will go a long way in helping you with your chores while keeping the baby involved and happy.

It seems very unsafe! Assembled it tried it, returned it! The first step up is way too tall, and our kids are tall. The top platform isn’t adjustable in height like some others models, and it’s a big step up too.

The platform being so high makes it a bit wobbly since kids center of gravity is high. We already have a wooden “little partners learning tower” and it is much better in every way. That one is expensive, I found it on sale, and you can find them used.

Worth looking for, and I DO NOT recommend this Kitchen Buddy. If I could have just removed the top platform, or placed it where the bottom step was, I would have kept it for the older child (3 yrs). But there aren’t any options for adjusting this.

Our tall 2 yr old nearly fell stepping backwards down off the first step because it’s so far to the floor from the step. Maybe fine for adults as a step stool, but not for kids.

I am a single mom to a very helpful 2 year old. I saw a stool like this one that a friend had for her son. I was excited to find one at walmart for a super reasonable price. I love it because I can move it right next to the counter or island so my son can help stir, cut, and cook.

I can have him right next to me so I can help him and make sure he is safe. The stool has something on all 4 sides so he cant fall off backwards, or anyway for that matter. He can get up on it himself, by ducking under the bar when climbing up the “steps” of the stool.

The max weight for the stool is 100 pounds I believe which is great because he can use it for a long time. While standing to eat probably isn’t the best way to teach manners, but it works really nicely because he is always so busy, and high chairs have always been an issue for him, because he prefers to move around.

With this stool, I put it up against the island and he is able to eat and move around enough that hes okay with staying at the table. It has 3 flaws that are kind of a big deal in my opinion. First, it doesn’t fold up for easy (and out of the way) storage.

Although that isn’t that big of a deal for me because he uses it constantly. Second, it is light weight enough for my son to move it around and give him access to things he isn’t supposed to touch or use.

Lastly, and probably most importantly for me, the inside of all the plastic places (which is on the inside of the stool, where he is standing) has hundreds of 1 inch circles that are hollow. They are constantly dirty and collecting things.

It is impossible to just run a rag and soapy water over it like you can on the outside of the plastic pieces. They have to be individually cleaned out. I am guessing all those holes are what make it light enough for him to move.

Which I also dont like. at all.

We had the original kitchen helper for our 3 year old, but she kept hitting her head getting in and out, so we decided to look for one without a back. This was exactly what I was looking for. She loves being counter height so she can help me cook etc and this stool also can be used as a regular step stool for adults.

It is pretty large, so not ideal for really tiny kitchens.

My 29M son love it! He not only use it as kitchen helper but also a chair in the living room! Very sturdy and no any sharp edge. Money well-spent! Will certainly recommend to my friends and family.

We bought 2. One for my 1. 5 year old and another for my 4 year old. They both love to sit on them to eat snacks while we make dinner. They also use them to look out the back window with a better view.

Last they use them to help with crafts and cooking activities. I love that I can get more use out of these than special cookie baking days.

The paint in the kitchen helper we received kept falling off while we were assembling the foot. The hinge was bent and was unable to lock the tower secure. This makes us concerned about the product safety when a toddler is using it.

We returned the product for these 2 reasons. Return was hassle free.

I bought this for my 14 month old that loves watching me cook! She is on the larger size for her age so it is perfect. I absolutely love that this came assembled! The only pieces I had to put on were the feet.

It’s quick and easy to use and I love how slim it is folded – very easy to store! Glad I spent the money and went with the Guidecraft kitchen helper!.

Very disappointed putting together our helper stool – the Hardware box was completely empty (see photo). It looked like it had been retapped over old tape. Now I’m thinking this was a returned item. Also, after doing a closer look at the helper stool, I’m seeing a lot of damaging marks/dents (see photo).

This stool is fantastic! It’s perfect for my son’s montessori room. The quality is great. My son likes it. I suppose the chair’s sides him feel secure. My only complaint is the packaging, there isn’t much protecting the heavy pieces through the shipping process.

I adore this chair!! Excellent quality and appearance. I thought this would be ideal because we could use it for our next child, but now I’m thinking I’ll get another one because these chairs are so nice and will be ideal for each child as they grow into their own.

It will be interesting to have them in different colors.
