20 Best Toddler Learning Dvds (2022 Updated)

Great for kids. Graphics are awesome. Purchased for my granddaughter. She loves it. And the price wasn’t much.

It was a bit hit and miss with my kids. They did retain some of the information they learned from it and it was a bit entertaining but they were not that into the video.

The disc came with two DVDs one for counting and the other one for the letters. The counting DVDs really really good but the one with the alphabet they really liked it much. Reason being is because they really focus too much on the letters to where your child can truly Master it.

I bought these for my 2yr old. He is currently watching the letter factory DVD and absolutely loves it. He’ll watch it 2 and 3 times through in one sitting if I let him. And he’s started telling me what some of the letters say.

He was trying to learn his sounds after completely learning good letters, but it wasn’t clicking. Just days after receiving these, he is already remembering them. I love that he is learning while watching these instead of him just spending time with shows that don’t teach him anything.

We’ve watched the word factory, but it’s a little too advanced at this point for him, but I’m sure once he learns his sounds he’ll pick up on it too. These are great!! I highly recommend them!.

I discovered these 14 years ago. Taught all of my kids their ABC’s and the beginnings of reading. 10 years on loop in my van DVD player and I never got tired of it. Very smartly produced, very high content and entertainment value.

I give them out as gifts to family and friends. Too bad ‘Circus Math‘ is not part of this set.

My granddaughter received this set as a first birthday gift. She anticipates her video time and it has definitely enabled her to recognize letter sounds. I bought another set for a special needs client and look forward to seeing the progress he makes.

I encourage anyone with babies or children to purchase this DVD set. I also believe it could help adults recovering from accidents or strokes to regain their speech.

I love this series! I had originally bought the second series of DVDs for my daughter, without realizing it. They were a little old for her, but the sheer inventiveness and catchy songs helped her right along.

She ended up learning from them even though she was a series behind. Preschool Prep Letters, Numbers, Shapes and Colors is perfect for any kiddo needing to know the basics. My daughter is four, she knows her Letters, numbers, shapes and colors, but she was needing help with recognition! These DVDs know just how to get her attention and keep it fun and interesting enough that she remembers what she is learning!!.

I bought these for my 16 month old and so far he loves them. They keep his attention for a good duration when he has always been one to jump from activity to activity. Because he is still learning to talk I can’t say that he is obtaining the educational parts since I haven’t heard him put it to use.

All I wanted was another source for learning that was entertaining and a change from my own voice and method. I think for his age this is appropriate, there are many other methods that I’ll incorporate later when he’s bigger and stops putting things in his mouth and distruct things.

Many many teachers that myself and family have worked with recommended it as they used on their own children and seen such success. Many just played them on portable DVD players in their vehicle. I don’t know how often though.

I bought the Sight Words program and within one week both my 15 month old and my three-year-old could read site words. So I bought this pack so my 15-month-old could continue learning and he has done amazing with the numbers and letters so far.

Every parent should own these products from preschool prep company. I highly recommend these products.

Great learning DVD. It’s very long. It’s a few hours long which is good. A lot of different learning shows all in one. Not just Dora. Would recommend. Great great.

Great fun learning movie, bought it for my daughter and she likes it. Has other non Dora episodes in it, thought it was all Dora episodes, it isn’t. My daughter doesn’t pay attention when the other shows come on.

That’s why a 4 but good learning video.

Always have been a fan of Nick Jr. The baby loves the colors and noises. Much better then phones or tablets. Gives educational learning and singing.

My 2 year old loves these movies. She typically asks to watch them, and knows all the characters. I can tell she is learning early literacy and math skills by the vocabulary she uses in daily discourse as well as the questions she asks during play and day-to-day activities.

Totally worth it!.

Shipped faster than predicted! My daughter loved leapfrog letter factory, it helped her learn letter sounds! I’m hoping these will be just as useful and hold her attention while learning! This is an early Christmas present from mom:).

Have purchased theys 3 times now. Kids keep destroying them well worth replacing. Scout is under school age tad a little older best dvds especially for the boys. My 3 children could read before they could talk.

I dont teach them dvds work great.

It started off as “check this out”. Eventually, my son was asking for his site word video. He loved looking at the animation related to the word. It was amazing! We would read his bedtime stories and he was reading all the words he recognized from the videos.

I was very impressed by this. So I bought the rest of the videos and read along books for him. Now, he recognizes over 35 words and is reading simple books by himself (4yrs old). I couldn’t be more proud of him.

My wife and I homeschool our four children. The 3 year old and 2 year old both love these videos and request to watch them just for fun. I’ve caught them dancing along with the characters and saying the letter sounds, blends, and digraphs as they watch.

Even the 8 year old and 6 year old like watching them because they are fun, even though they are past that reading level. It has helped the 8 year old, who has a bit of a pronunciation problem, to say his words better.

Highly recommended.

My first thought when we pushed play was, “Oh gosh, she’s going to find this so boring. It’ll be a waste of money, how boring!” BUT THEN she started to talk along with the DVD and paid attention to the whole thing.

She LOVES these DVD’s. We’ve worked through level 1. We’re now on the 2nd DVD and she’s picking up these words even quicker than the first. We ended up buying the books that go along with these DVD’s and she feels so proud of herself.

It’s a huge confidence builder! Oh, and my daughter is only 3 yrs 2 months old!.

This company makes a great product that will make kids enjoy learning. My son improved on his abc and blend letters with our first dvd and now we are using numbers and shapes and he is improving there for his preschool classes.

Colors, shapes & counting has worked for my grandson. He can more readily recognize the offered learning tools offered on this DVD. He is 5 yrs old and if I had to it over I would purchase them when he was much younger.

The music and delivery is a bit elementary.

The greatest part is anybody ages 2+ can count, use colors, and use shapes!!!

i do like leapfrog dvds for my kids, they learn a lot from them,but i think the prices online should be a little cheaper. they are almost the same price in stores like walmart, so, after all is not such a good saving online,it takes the convenince of buying online away.

i still go to stores to buywhat i need so, i can hold the money and buy fromthe stores instead of buying online. in stores i can get the item rightaway, while online i have to wait 3-5 days for them.

so after all is not that conveniente to buy dvds online. this will be my last time buying dvds online. thanks for the attention given to my review.

My son loves this DVD! We started him with The Letter Factory and moved on to this one after a month. At 27 months, he doesn’t understand he is spelling words but he is making the sounds of the letters and trying to string them along like the show.

When watching the Letter Factory, he brought the bath tub foam letters in front of the tv and this has helped him a ton. Now with this show, he grabs the 3 letters Tad or Professor Quigley are referencing and places them together.

He asks to watch “Talking Words” several times a day but we have to limit him to twice. Very cute (not annoying for an adult), very upbeat and catchy!.

My 3 year old son loves to watch this movie at least 4 times a week. Teaches reading and punctuation. 3little pig story and sing along extras and read to me extras on the DVD. Love it.

Didn’t buy from Best Buy but this product is moneys’ worth. Recommended by my son’s preschool teacher when he was 3, started reading few months later, and by age 4, became a fluent reader. He’s currently in 5th grade reading & comprehending on a 10th grade level.

I’ve recommended to every parents that I know, even all the way to Africa. Lol It might not be for every child as my second son didn’t get into it as much, but he definitely took something out of it, if not all.

Result might varies, but it’s definitely a good investment to have. This is my fourth buy for another family; education is the key.

Opened it up today (no wrapping around it in the plastic usps mailer)and the case was cracked, and the dvd has the previous owners name written on it. Not very good condition

As an Early Childhood teacher, this video is an awesome resource for teaching letter sounds, a skills students need in order to read. My son knew all letters and sounds shortly after he turned 3.

It has definitely helped my five year old learn the sounds of the letters. The little song is cute and he loves to sing along. It carries over well into other areas of working so he’s really understanding and not mindlessly reciting the song.

As an adult though, you will get sick of the song! So I recommend limiting how often the child watches it in a day. I do recommend it if you have a child who is an auditory learner as they will love the songs.

The DVD is catchy, but moves through the letters at a very fast pace. I purchased to help my son become more familiar with the letters & their sounds, but it is a short & fast video. I didn’t realize it was only 30 minutes at purchase, so that was my mistake.

However, I think it would be better if more time was spent on the individual letters. Not bad for $5, just wish that it had a longer run-time.

I bought this for my 5 year old son who has autism and i am homeschooling him as well. So i am trying to get him to become familiar and learn his letters in a fun way, because he will not be into anything that doesnt involve music and singing.

This really gets his attention and i love the fun and good songs that the scouts do. I would recommend this but i will be ordering more from the scouts. Im in love with the scouts now lol. Its fun learning for kids learning ABC.

This dvd has a lot of the old school sketches and characters, which for my three year old, did not hold her attention as she is a modern sesame street viewer. They started out the alphabet and associated words fine, but then they rushed the end.

There were more cartoony sketches than there were actual scenes with the muppets and people on sesame street. Lena Horne’s performance brought back memories from when I watched the show. For today’s pre-schooler, this dvd needs to be updated to achieve the purpose of the show, which is to learn about letters.

I would not recommend this dvd; you can get the same effect by watching episodes of current sesame street with your little one.

This is classic Sesame Street. It brings back fond childhood memories. My daughter will be 2 in March and she loves this video. It’s hard to get the disc out of the dvd player after its over. She just keeps asking for “mubie, mubie”.

lol We both sing along with Cookie Monster in that all time classic song “C is for Cookie”. It’s a great dvd.

I love this dvd. This helped my children learn the alphabet and now I use it with my grandchildren. It is simple and to the point. Classic sesame street. Love it.

My 3 year old loves this video. The pirate theme is a plus for him; Pirate Pythagoras the octopus. Leap Frog does a really good job at incorporating counting, number recognition and size (small, medium, large) comparisons in a catchy pirate adventure.

As a kindergarten teacher and a parent to a 1 and 3 year old, I would STRONGLY recommend this video and ALL LEAPFROG DVDs for young children. I did not hear of these DVDs until my oldest daughter was 2 years old and she learned her letters and sounds in 3 days with the Letter factory.

My youngest daughter had them learned by 1 1/2 years with these. I have all the DVDs they make and my daughter of 3 is able to sound out 3 letter words and is SOOOO excited that she can read. My kinders love the DVDs as well.

They meet our state standards for kindergarten. My thanks to the makers of LeapFrog DVDs. they are AMAZING!.

So necessary in this day and age for young minds to learn their numbers and start their math skills as young as possible. Leap frog truly mastered teaching young children without them even realizing how much they are learning.

These are the best videos I have ever seen to show babies. I always have a problem with showing babies anything that moves too fast and they can’t possibly comprehend. These are slow moving and and perfect for babies to be able watch over and over and not confuse them.

For example when they are showing colors, there is a red fuzz ball with eyes, legs etc doing different things and the only word is , “RED. , RED. , RED. ” It is the same way for all of them, Letters, shapes, colors and numbers.

I highly recommend this series to everyone for their babies.

I had my 20 month old son watch the DVD each evening and within 3 weeks he recognized a lot of lowercase and uppercase letters. He has also learned his shapes, colors, and numbers with this series. I started with the colors, then a few weeks later I started showing the numbers.

He mastered his numbers first, then most of his colors. I then started showing him the shapes and letters and to my surprise he is learning from all of them. I thought the letters would be difficult but he is learning it just as quick as the numbers, colors, and shapes.

I figure this is better than some of the cartoons shown on TV. Everyone is so shocked when I show them. My routine is that he watches one of the DVDs in the morning and the letters in the evening. I am loving this.

The Preschool Prep Company series was recommended to me by a former co-worker, whose son is reading on a first grade level at age 3. I love the whole series because it was repetitive enough to have my now 2 year old son, recognizing and reciting (clearly) the alphabet, shapes, colors, sight words etc by age 13 or 14 months.

I didn’t think the videos would work, because we started at about 12 or 13 months so I didn’t know if our son would be interested and also because we didn’t watch often and usually only watched during short trips in our van, but within 2 weeks he was reciting and recognizing letters and numbers! Now that I am a childcare professional, I am trying to get this program along with the Leap Frog series for our babies, so they will be ready for Pre-K.

Now that we are expecting again, I will definitely be using on our next baby.

I used this dvd to help my now 7 year old greatgranddaughter to learn her numbers. It is now being used to help her 3 year old twin brothers to learn their numbers. The music and the Sesame Street characters draw the children in.

I purchased the DVD for my 18 month old grandson. He loves watching it over and over and never takes his eyes off the TV. I ordered the “Dance with Me” DVD a few days ago and hope he loves it as well.

I would recommend “123 Count with Me “to anyone with small children who likes music.

We purchased some of the Sesame Street and Elmo’s World DVD’s for our son’s 2nd b-day since he loves Sesame Street (and Elmo even more). He has a lot of fun with them and is asking for them every morning before day care and every afternoon when he comes home.

We highly recommend all Sesame items out there since our son learned so many things without the slightest effort in no time. He knows them all by heart. And we as his parents enjoy watching them, too.

Our favorite songs (1,2,3 crows and Elmo’s five jive ) make us all dance funny around the house.

This product is very well thought through in how it educates. It has different voices, different characters, and a very captivating way of keeping the attention of the little one watching. Our two year old, say, 34 month old, as she’s almost three, learns very quickly from the dvd’s, colors, shapes and numbers.

She likes the others, but I don’t think she gets it yet, the sight words and phonics, but she is copying our words better these days, so she must be picking up the concept of clear pronunciation. For preschoolers this is the best I’ve seen yet.

For adults it is not bad, I don’t mind it playing, it’s cute.

We purchased some of the Preschool Prep DVDs years ago for our first grandson. He really enjoyed them and watched very frequently. Those were passed on to our second set of grandchildren and they loved them too.

We decided to buy the entire series for our newest granddaughter for Christmas. The videos are very engaging and we found our grandkids excited to repeat the letters, numbers, shapes and colors along with Melissa.

This is a great series! So easy for kiddos to follow and understand. They helped my daughter learn her letters and numbers and now we are working on the phonics portion! I plan on using these with any other kids I have in the future as well! I do wish they were a little more affordable.

I bought my set from Zulily. I wouldn’t have been able to afford it otherwise.

My two and five year old watch it all the time much rather them watch something that they can learn from instead of just regular cartoons. would recommend it

My granddaughter loves the Leapfrog DVD. She is 3 years old and can recognize letters and knows most of her sounds. These DVD will give her the start in reading she needs to be successful. Her brothers learned through Leapfrog DVD.

The oldest brother who is 16 years old could read before his fourth birthday and he is graduating high school next year (one year earlier).

Well, my girls love all their Leap Frog videos so it’s hard for me to give these videos anything less than 5 stars. My 2 year old was having problems learning her numbers and I, surprisingly, had a hard time getting her interest in them.

However, she loves Leap Frog videos so the Numbers Ahoy video helped a lot. She now knows the few numbers she wouldn’t let me teach her, thanks to Leap Frog, and still loves watching all her videos. Even my 4 year old loves watching the videos with her.

They also love singing the song from the Amazing Alphabet video. Leap Frog is definitely a staple in our household.

My first child wanted to watch the Leapfrog Letter Factory over and over again. It was her favorite show! She knew all of her letters and their sounds by the age of two. She is already starting to read and she’s not quite four yet.

This show is amazing at keeping the attention of a child. It teaches the sound of each letter of the alphabet in a fun and memorable way. Each letter has it’s own room where the teacher is teaching the letters to make their own sound.

Very cute. You don’t even realize you are learning when watching it. It’s very entertaining and captivating. My almost four year old still loves to watch this show as well as other Leapfrog shows. My youngest child doesn’t sit for long when the tv is on, but she will sit still for the Letter Factory and that is saying something! They learn by observing and listening and then months later, they start putting it together and saying their letters and sounds.

My 2. 5 year old son learned his letter sounds with this video even before he knew his alphabet letters. It is a fun and unique way to help them learn phonics. Another great Leapfrog product! The video features Tad, Leap, and Lily as siblings who go to their father’s work (the Letter Factory) and help him make a letter sound dictionary.

Tad is particularly curious, as the youngest, and goes from each letter to the next learning the sounds for each letter. Different scenarios are used for each letter. For example, the sound for the letter P is demonstrated by popcorn popping.

The sound for the letter Q is demonstrated by ducks quaking a speech. The sound for the letter H is demonstrated by heat and the letter being hot. Integrated within the sound learning is an actual story (the development of the sound dictionary), so that it doesn’t just seem like a lesson but more like a fun story.

The visual aids the audio and, I believe, together helped my son learn the sounds. Highly recommend!.

I like this page because children have a lot of fun reading and it has a lot of variety of their favorite dolls to choose from.

My son loves Bubble Guppies and Dora and this video has both and more. It teaches him colors while having fun with his favorite characters. My only complaint is that I wish there was at least one more episode.

I have MANY learning numbers videos old and new. This is by far one of the best videos to help your child learn numbers. The video is repetitive yet keeps the childs attention with bright animations.

I enjoy how the video utilizes different learning styles to teach young children how to count and number recognition. I would recommend this to any parent, school, or daycare!.

My son is autistic and likes video’s that many people would consider boring. This video is slow moving but good. It follows a nice rythem so that kids know what is coming. My son is almost non verbal but watched this over and over and can count and recognize teh numbers.

I bought this for my 3 y/o after watching a short part of it on TV. He loves it! He counts everything; at the store, at home, and everywhere we go. Now I’m looking for something where he can learn numbers above 20.

(On this DVD they teach numbers up to 20, so it is only good for younger children. ) The way this DVD is made, children learn from other children, because on the video children count and show the numbers, so it is like playing and learning.

I would recommend this for everyone!.

I purchased our first set of Leap Frog DVD’s in 2006. Our daughter was 2 years old. My mom who is a retired teacher of nearly 45 years in elementary education applauded Letter Factory. She and my dad surprised us with several other Leap Frog products.

By the time she was 3 years old, she was fluently saying all letter sounds, letter recognition, spelling and reading words. She was fluent in number recognition and counting too. We limited the amount of time for tv and technology, unless we were traveling a great distance.

She would get about 15 mins after I did my teachings ( I am a teacher also). She is nearly 16 and still remembers it. We’ve had people to ask suggestions and we immediately say Leap Frog. we gave her set away and wished we kept it.

I am purchasing this for personal (to keep when we have grandchildren) and professional needs. My family and I started giving Leap Frog dvd’s as children gifts and recommending to others. When I see the quality of this, I often wonder why so many children are lacking in areas.

I know it is because of the lack of exposure or learning challenges. Leap frog challenges every style of learning. They keep a child (and adults) attention. It is contagious. In my educational position, I serve students who have special needs and was seeking this product to use as a supplemental resource for my classroom.

I am thankful it is in a bundle such as this. This is amazing and useful. I highly recommended this product.

The reason I gave this product a three star review is because the box set it is better suited for setting like day care where you may have children of varying ages. There are only four lessons that correspond with my daughters age of two going on three.

The up side is she totally loves the lessons and asks to watch them every morning. It’s great to see her learning and enjoying the interaction with me as I prepare her for the riggers of becoming an NCAA Student Athlete someday like her big Sister.

I wish I’d known that the “Letter Factory DVD” wasn’t one of the ten DVD mega pack. Leapfrog’s “Letter Factory” DVD is so amazing that Leapfrog’s other DVD’s can’t begin to measure up. I have bought “Letter Factory” several times, twice on VHS and over eight times on DVD.

As a teacher, I often recommend LeapFrog’s “Letter Factory” to my students’ families and often let them know that they can buy it on Walmart. com. I have also given Leapfrog “Letter Factory” as gifts.

No matter how much I blew up the picture of Leapfrog 10 DVD mega pack, I couldn’t tell what DVD titles were included. I will continue to recommend and purchase “Letter Factory” on DVD.
