20 Best Toddler Step Stool (2022 Updated)

Very sturdy for a child. (Not meant for an adult. ) Taller to help with bathroom counters that are higher than the style in older homes. Has a flat front to meet up against bathroom/kitchen cabinets so there is minimal gap so your child’s foot won’t slip through.

Round edges to minimize bumps and bruises. Easy to move/shift around. Easy to assemble.

This stool is exactly what I was looking for for my two year old boy. It is sturdy and pretty good quality. I can even stand on it being 5’10. It did not take me very long to put together. It arrived much faster than estimated, and nothing was damaged.

I wish the top opened for storage, but not necessary. It allows my kid to be the perfect height to brush his teeth, wash his hands, use the potty, and help me in the kitchen. Melissa and Doug items haven’t failed me yet.

Arrived damaged (finish chipped off a corner). Also the finish is super smooth/slippery, without traction treads. Looks nice but disappointing quality/function. A plastic stool would do a better job and cheaper too.

Ugh!!!! I wish I read the reviews thoroughly before I purchased this stool. It comes unassembled. The screws are cheap and so soft they strip easily and some of the screws had such thick lacquer in them I couldn’t even use them! This cannot be used on wood floor or tile! It has no nonskid pads!!! Slides all over the place! And the back isn’t straight! It’s angled so I can’t sit it flush against the vanity for my 2 yo to brush his teeth! His feet fall through the gap and he falls off! I am so disappointed that I spent the money for this! It would be perfect for some one who needs a stool fit carpet but that was not it intended purpose!.

The stool is great after it assembled. The problem is the dowls need to be glued in as they were smaller than the holes drilled. The brace in the back the holes were two small and had to be drilled out.

A few area’s had a sticky stuff on them and had to be cleaned with a solvent to remove. A few edges the finish was chipped off. Sturdy stool when put together.

There were mistakes which prevented us from being able to assemble this item. Holes not drilled for the dowels. One plastic insert missing where the screw should go. We have to return it. Too bad because it is nice looking.

This is a fun concept for young children to help participate in the kitchen but it is dangerous. I was standing next to my daughter the entire time we were using this, as instructed, and she slipped in her socks and fell down almost through the entire opening and hit her head on the kitchen counter.

Thank God she is okay. I have to add a traction pad of some sort. It should come with one.

We have a 2 ½ year-old granddaughter that loves to help us cook and basically wants to be in the middle of everything. She’s the best helper with stirring and handing us items. We just got this Toddler Tower and she loves it! She can climb into it all by herself.

Then, if she wants to get down, she can also do that without us having to stop and have to clean our hands of whatever we’re cooking to put her down. It’s also been great for hand washing. Better than a stool because it’s higher so she can reach the faucet but it has “rails” all around so she can’t fall from the higher platform.

I ordered this early so it would be here for my grand daughters birthday tomorrow. I am just getting around to assembling it. What a beast to put together and one of bolts/screws on the handle will not stay screwed in.

I think it is not securing to the plastic correctly. I am so disappointed and do not have time to do a return on it. The closed Walmart is over 70 miles away. I may have to put it aside and give up on assembly and return it the next time I travel to the town with the Walmart but no idea when that may happen.

Extreme disappointment with this item.

I bought this step stool for my 2. 5 year old son to use at the sink to brush his teeth. The colors are great and match any decor, the stool is very sturdy, made of thick plastic with anti-slip strips on the bottom.

My son loves it! However, I do wish that the smaller of the two stuck further out so that my son’s foot actually fit on the first step. He wears a size 7 shoe, and even barefoot his foot doesn’t fit.

He skips the first step making the smaller of the 2 somewhat useless. I also wish the larger stool was taller. There’s only about a 3 inch difference in height between the two, and it’s not quite tall enough for my son (36″ tall) to be able to comfortably reach a standard height sink.

This set should last a very long time, they are sturdy and tough. I really like the simple clean look and gender neutral colors. The two stools interlock easily and stay n place safely until you unlock them , that’s a feature I really appreciate when it comes to my kids.

Can also be used separately. My little one love the 2 step set up it make him feel like he’s climbing stairs. Great sense of independence. The with of the stool is just wide enough for little kids although the weight allowance is much higher.

Just what I needed!! My toddler needed something to help them reach the sink and these are perfect. They lock into each other to provide steps. Are strong enough to support myself as well. The height is perfect for toddlers to be able reach the bathroom sink for hand washing or brushing teeth.

The plastic wipes clean quickly. They are lightweight and easy to store away. The smaller stool fits perfectly under the tall one perfect for storage.

We absolutely love this learning tower. We have used others in the past but this one exceeds the others in terms of quality and thoughtful design. I love how it is adjustable AND still folds up. Many other towers would only offer one of the other, so it was great to find one that did both.

The nonslip map is comfortable and easy to clean (which, again, other towers we’ve used the mats were uncomfortable and hard to clean). The finishing is smooth and well crafted. I love that they provide a safety net for both sides (which, again, other brands we’ve used only offered one).

The tower is spacious and easy to clean and our little one absolutely loves it. We are so glad we went with this one and would highly recommend it. Also, glad we went with this specific design because our little one has tried to climb out of it but can’t get a good footing because of the design.

First, it was very easy to put together. We could tell as we were building the quality is great. Next, the color we ordered (gray) and look & feel isn’t a major sore thumb in our kitchen unlike majority of baby products.

We push ours next to bar stools and it doesn’t look out of place. Finally, the tower itself is very safe. The nonslip map /mat is an added safety feature plus the mesh sides make us feel comfortable leaving our daughter in there while we clean up.

She enjoys standing in the tower and playing with items on the counter.

This is a really good deal on a good product. Your toddler is surrounded on all four sides because it comes with two mesh covers for the open sides. When they get older you can take off one of the mesh covers so they can climb in and out.

Feet prevent tipping in all directions. It folds up fairly easily for storage. Guide Craft has a few different versions of this learning tower, and this is the best one because the others have cut-out shapes one the sides that give a foothold to an aspiring climber.

My daughter is a climber so I think about these things. She even tries to lift her leg over the side of this model, but it doesn’t reach, not even close :D.

This is the perfect little stool for toddlers! It is exactly what my daughter needs for getting on the toilet, to the sink, or anywhere else she pleases, while still being sturdy and a safe height. It is light enough for her to carry around independently-and she does so-to reach lightswitches, toys, or other items just out of height so beware, but we have loved how it has fostered her self-sufficiency and independence.

I brought an isofix base, opened the box it was the incorrect one I needed. I emailed in and returned the next day. Now they are breaking the law and my consumer rights by not refunding me. I am taking them to court.

£199. They have conned me. I returmed this item exactly in the condition i received it & followed their terms and policy. They emailed to say I would be refunded then a few days later They tried to say there was a scratch.

I received the item with a scratch!! I am fuming. AVOID.

Super secure and looks neat in our newly done bathroom. Ticks away nicely and the white colour means it’s not an eyesore. Top is nicely grippy, which means it gathers dirt a little bit it’s worth it for the extra security with an active, wriggly toddler! Not the tallest but certainly feels great quality and safe on a slippy bathroom floor.

Worth the ‘investment’ for a decent step.

Overall I like this learning tower. I looked around a lot before purchasing and ended up going with this one because I got it on sale. It had a lot of pieces to put together to assemble so it took me a while but I expected that.

A couple things I found issues with: -some of the pieces feel slightly off in either size or the placement of screw holes. I had to push on pieces to be able to get them to where I can screw in the bolts.

If you look closely you can see the inconsistencies in the built product. – the little traction feet that are supposed to be applied to the steps are way too small and rough in my opinion. I didn’t apply those and will be finding an alternative.

I’d like more of a strip that doesn’t just cover the center in the step. Overall it is a great product but the few issues I found I would not expect for the price of this product. My daughter loves it and that is truly what matters.

It is sturdy and I feel like she is safe while using it.

My daughter loves climbing on to this tower to get to the counter. She is only one but she is a pro at climbing on, hasn’t figured out how to climb off yet. I build it in about 45 minutes, lots of pieces.

In the end, it was a bit wobbly and the stick on grippers fell off after a day of use. It came with sand paper shaped like feet to stick on so babies won’t slip. We didn’t use them, our daughter is barefoot at home and didn’t want sandpaper scraping her feet.

We will be getting a silicone mat for this. Overall I recommend the product, I’ll have to figure something out for the wobbliness, I think it’s just a bit uneven. It seems safe and the wood is of decent quality.

Baby loves it and it gives me time to food prep next to her while she plays next to me in the kitchen.

The product is as described. Only issue I should have gotten was be with two steps. My daughter is only 2 and still not taller enough with the steps for the sink or toilet. So please if your child is short or younger like mine get the two step stool and spend the extra couple dollars.

The rubber padding at the bottom is covers the entire side making it sturdy on any surface, it is not the case with other brands. I would have preferred the other color instead of grey, which is dull.

It is very similar to Ikea’s step stool, except it is smaller and a bit expensive comparatively.

Report product for your little kids that are named to wash their hands brush their teeth and you don’t have to hold them over the sink to do so. It’s easy to clean then wipe down it’s priced great and it’s sturdy and non-sliding.

If you have small children I definitely recommend this for the bathroom.

This is a clever design but does take up some space. There are feet on the bottom, too, so you can flip it over and the stool becomes one height. I purchased this after I watched my grandsons (ages 2 and 3 ½) brush their teeth at the same time, balancing on one stool.

It would also be nice when kids want to join in when you are cooking. It could function as a seat as well, maybe outside or in a playroom setting. It’s a very useful item and worthwhile purchase.

Awesome! Higher then any other stool I found and it even holds my weight well at 154lbs. Daughter loves that she can now reach the sink to wash hands without me picking her up more then the stool and so do I!! Fits perfect in front off a one sink cabinet and extremely light so easy to move.

Only thing I wish was different is that it had some space underneath so that feet could feet under while standing on ground behind it.

This stool was the perfect solution for my two sons at teeth brushing time. They used to push each other off the stool, but now that have their own spot. It is also acting as a cabinet blocker so my youngest doesn’t explore under the sink.

This is a fine deal. Small enough to utilize within the shower, when grate unkle visits and strong enough with big big sister needs a step stool in the work room. It is easy to unfold and store in the kitchen, when nephew needs to reach the top cupboards.

Small enough to fold flat for saving space in meeting auto-camping multi stool applications. I wonder if I might have purchased more; one for each task?.

This step is not made for 250 lb. people. If you step on it any other way but perpendicular to the hinge, the step will collapse on you. It happened to me several times. I was lucky and did not get hurt when the step has literally blown apart when I stepped down onto it.

I think this step might be OK for a sub 200 lb. person, but it was downright dangerous for me.

Clever ergonomic design. Folds flat and stays out of the way. Quick to fold out into working configuration. Solid and secure to stand on.

I ordered this tower so thay my toddler could be near me when I’m working in the kitchen. She often wants to be held and that gets difficult to do when cooking so I though this would be perfect to keep her near and give her her own little jobs.

The height is adjustable to fit a variety of children. There is also a place to add accessories like a magnetic whiteboard and chalkboard (purchased separately) to use as your babe gets older and even accessories to turn it into a playhouse or lemonade stand.

It is very well made and high quality. My only complaint is that is is VERY heavy and not so easy to move around especially if you are trying to avoid scratching wood floors. The addition of locking caster wheels would have been great, but I do still recommend this even though it is quite pricey.

I bought this for my grandson’s 1st birthday. He loves to watch his Mom and Dad while they’re cooking. He loves the tower. He can’t wait to stand in it and always has the biggest smile on his little face when he’s watching them in the kitchen.

Give him a plastic bowl and spoon and he loves to “cook” right along side of his parents. I see him using this for many many years. So much safer than using a chair too!!!.

We got this for our 18 month old so she can be with us at the counters while we cook meals and so she can reach the sink to wash her hands. At the highest platform level it is perfect for these purposes.

Assembly was pretty easy, took me about 30 mins by myself. Feels very sturdy and should last a long time. Only drawback is the overall footprint of this product. It does take up an awful lot of room in the kitchen.

You’ve got to have a lot of room to store it out of the way when it’s not in use.

I got this step stool for my 3 yr old. I couldn’t get it to stay together right out of the box. I followed the directions but with metal screws in soft wood there was no holding the last piece in place.

It’s just going to have to be a simple step stool now since the football won’t stay attached to the arms. It says it holds up to 100lbs but I don’t think I’ll let him use it that long. It doesn’t feel sturdy enough to hold him if he wiggles too much.

It also took almost a month to be delivered.

I am so very unhappy with this item. Bought for my granddaughter for Christmas so my Justus putting together and it has all the pieces labeled except we have 2 G’s which will not work!!! So I call to get replacement, to do so I have to now pack up and ship it and wait for another one to come – not the one I ordered either!!! I have to settle for another one or I could get refund – still have to pack up and send it back!! So my husband thank goodness is going to try to fix it the best he can which unfortunately will make it not look as cute but oh well this is a better workaround then going through all the trouble of sending it back or waiting weeks for another one!!! Very very disappointed.

The first step stool/chair we received was missing some of its hardware. LTD customer service was pleasant to work with and sent us another chair. The second chair had the exact same hardware missing.

Hopefully we can find the hardware at a local store to assemble the chair because I do not feel like going through the hassle of calling LTD customer service again for the same product. Hopefully my husband is able to find what we need to assemble it.

It is cute & a gift for our Grand.

As a mommy to lots of little ones, I value any help I can get for simple tasks. This step stool is the perfect helper for bathroom breaks. Two of my little ones are potty trained, but were still using the potty seat because they were unable to get on the adult potty unless someone lifted them up.

Needless-to-say, cleaning a potty seat is NOT my favorite task around the house, so I decided I needed a step stool to help them onto the toilet even when myself and/or my husband were unable to lift them onto the potty.

This is a dream come true (I’m a mommy to 5 little ones what do you expect my dreams to be made of) I no longer (for the time being. until the next in line starts using the little potty seat for training) have to clean that darn potty seat! The little ones can climb up onto the toilet using this handy dandy step stool and can get down as well.

The construction is great, nice and sturdy and very well made.

I am particularly fond of the gripper dots on the top of the stool that aid in stability so you don’t slip if your shoes happen to be wet (little kids are messy) and the singer holes on the side make lifting it to move it very easy and quick.

I bought this to use with our toddler, so he can reach the sink. We wanted to start teaching him to wash his hands on his own, He thinks he’s a big boy now that he’s doing this 🙂 This is a simple step stool that seems to work for us.

at least for now. The reason I took 1 star off was because of the weight. it’s light, which makes it easy to move around, but not heavy enough to prevent tipping over. Right now, we help my toddler step up & down the stool because he has not mastered the stairs just yet, so it’s not a worry for us.

at least not yet. We might have to invest in a more sturdy stool, that won’t tip over, down the road. But now, it works for us.

This step stool does the job. Have been using for some time with my grandson at the bathroom sink. One caution–it is a bit light weight and if he decides to wobble around on the step a bit he has fallen.

Now we know to keep him focused and less fooling around. I decided to stick with 5 stars because being light weight is a plus for easy use.

I bought 2 of these for Christmas gifts. They are very cute and I got a great price because they were on clearance. I agree with other buyers the screw that attach braces to bottom of seat are too long.

Had to order a replacement for one due to holes being in the wrong place, but it was shipped faster than the initial chairs! I had read reviews and was willing to take a chance for the low price. Overall, I am happy with the item and customer service.

I really like the stepstool. It was easy to put together and feels stable. It’s strong enough that I can use it to get into the high cupboard and my two year old can reach the counter to cook with mom.

I do wish the bottom step was a bit wider but it’s a great item and very attractive. Highly recommend.

Ready pleased with this kitchen helper. It is quite big so maybe not suitable for everyone but we manage to work around it in the kitchen and our little one loves it, and loves being involved in everything.

It’s really stable and I love that it has different heights to accommodate as my little one grows.

Very sturdy and easy to put together. I would have given five stars but it’s not white, the colour I ordered. I sent a note to customer service who told me that white is actually grayish. Not sure why I paid extra for white.

Highly recommend if you don’t mind that it’s not white.

Bought this for my wife to help her get into a more comfortable position when feeding our newborn. Absolutely perfect. Wife decided she wanted a second one for upstairs rather than having to keep moving this one and bought a similar one from a supermarket for a fraction less so bad I took it back as I thought it’d break in seconds.

Makes you really appreciate the quality of product Ikea sells and the price. I could stand on this to grab bits from the top of the cupboard and I know this will be used for years to come as the baby grows up it’ll have multiple uses around the house from brushing teeth in the bathroom to the kitchen sink.

This one is for kids but I use it as an adult. The product is strong enough to step on for adults to reach little high places. I have been using for long time. I just replaced the first one so this is my second one.

I had a Tommy Tippie step for many years. Was using it for my baby – Maltese puppy to get from the patio into the family room. My dtr. – in – law stepped on it and broke it some time ago. I’ve searched high and low for a replacement.

I’d really given up looking for a replacement. When I found this – not even looking for it – I was over-the-top excited. It is PERFECT and MUCH MORE STURDY than the Tommy Tippee was. Leave it to IKEA to have exactly what I need!.

This little step set is usually used for a child’s toilet training, however I saw it as a potential step as an entry to our work cabin. No being a carpenter thought this was a nice step than could easily fold up and go inside when not being used.

My husband was really pleased with this and it has surpassed my expectations. So thanks you very much – the height when fully open was exact to the cm’s and the space available, anything permanent would have been impossible as a manhole cover prevents a permanent built on step.

Love this step stool! We have had multiple kitchen helper type step stools, many of them are very expensive, they’re either very heavy, or they’re not sturdy enough, there’s a limited number of these type of stools that will fold up to keep out of the way when not in use, and the ones that do are very very expensive.

This one is awesome, it has a nice big platform, since it folds up so small I can keep one for each kid so they don’t fight over them, but it’s also sturdy and heavy enough that I’m not worried about them tipping, and I can even use it as a step stool.

I will say, my children are two years old and up, and they have good balance, but if they were younger and still a little wobbly, the bar that goes across the back to hold them that is optional to use, it breaks away and Pops open with heavy pressure, so if your kids are still a little wobbly on balance, you might have to rig up a way to reinforce that.

All in all, a perfect solution to something I’ve been looking for years for!.

This step stool is surprisingly great! It’s sturdy and a great height. My toddler maneuvers it well. The safety bar works well unlike other reviews state. It might be dangerous if the weight restriction is ignored.

that would be my only guess as to why it would seem flimsy. Now, the reason I subtracted a star. it looks like it might have been used. I see deep scratches on some plastic parts. It also appears to be dirty.

I know this isn’t a major issue. I inspected the feet and they look untouched so I’m assuming the scratches happened during assembly at the factory. The stool is great otherwise. It doesn’t slide on my wood flooring but it might on a smoother surface.

It’s a bit heavy for moving to a different location, but the weight just shows how sturdy it is. All in all, worth the price! I will update after extended use.

I love this helper stool! I really disliked the idea of the big wooden ones staying in the kitchen at all times for me to stub my toe on or give my child access to the counters at all times. This one folds up so nicely and I store it next to my fridge and it’s completely out of the way! My child loves it and has helped me with many meals.

I even use it myself to reach the high spots of my cabinets!.

The step (specifically top) does not have enough depth to safely support a toddlers foot size. My son is 2. 5 and only wears a size 5 shoe and even his foot is too large, which makes the stool slip. The lack of depth also make it pull up too closely to the toilet, not leaving enough room to safely step up.

It is very lightweight which also leads to slipping around. There were globs/drips of polyethylene down the back too. Very sloppy. I don’t normally leave reviews, but I want to warn others that this stool is absolutely not worth the price tag.

Not as advertised! This is unfinished MDF! There is not any wood grain as pictured. There are also instructions that come with to paint or stain the item to insure it is not damaged. Construction and size ok, so if you are looking for a project, this is your step!.

Love our classic step stool! We stained it to prevent water marks and it came out so beautiful. My toddler loves using it to wash his hands and it’s light enough for him to pick it up and carry it from room to room.
