20 Best Toddler Swim Vest (2022 Updated)

I absolutely loved this vest I used it this year for our trip to the beach for my 2 year old that doesn’t know how to swim. I was amazed by Flex Form Deluxe Swim Vest how it was able to hold my toddler up by herself in the ocean and the pool.

You still should always be in arms length of your child but this did so great I did not have to hold her the entire time we were swimming. The design of this vest isn’t bulky it very sleek and comfortable almost like a bathing suit.

I loved how it has a zipper to make sure she stays secure in the vest and a strap with a skin guard to go in between her legs for extra support. My daughter was able to jump in the pool with this on and it would float her right back up.

It keeps your child very balanced and has a extra foam piece that goes infront of the neck for extra support as well. I really am impressed with this vest I will be buying one for my 6 year old as well.

Living in Florida, water activities are a must! We go to a lot of water parks and visit the pool weekly. My main concern was teaching my youngest to swim and for her to be comfortable in the water. My oldest used to have a swim vest so I definitely needed one for my youngest.

This vest is adorable. It feels lightweight and very durable. The colors are eye catching and my daughter loves the design on the vest. Adjusting the strap is very easy as well. I can simply make it as tight or loose as it needs to be.

It’s also very easy to put on and off. With a wiggly toddler, that’s a great bonus. My daughter is able to float nicely in this vest and is starting to get comfortable with it in the water. I love how happy she is and think it’s great having this bit of protection in the water.

This swim school swim trainer vest is worth it’s weight in gold, we live on the beautiful gulf coast of Florida so we spend a lot of our days out at the beach. In the pool, and boating on the river and having nearly drowned.

when I was small child the thought of one of my kids drowning terrifies me. This swim school vest gives me a lot of piece of mind knowing that it not only keeps their heads above the water, it also helps them become more confident in the water while they are learning to swim.

My only complaint is that the strap which goes between their legs can be cause some chafing. We resolved that issue by having my son wear some longer swim trunks when wearing it. Overall this is a great product and we are very happy with it.

We just come back from a in door water park and hotel so this was perfect for our on the smaller size 6 yr old. We haven’t had a chance to get him swimming lessons so this definitely put our minds at ease.

He’s able to zip this up and just take off in the water. It held him up in water very well and we never worried about it not holding him up. He says its very comfortable and definitely better than the brand we used before.

It’s very durable and will not rip or break easily. It will definitely hold the child up very well and keep them above water so they can feel a little more independence while in the water.

I purchase 2 of these (the shark and the crab-super adorable) for my grandson that just turned 2 on 6/30/19. I was a bit apprehensive at first because it stated that it was for children 30-50 pounds and he is 29 pounds.

I’ve purchased other floating devices such as the zippered vests with the chin cushion and they were cumbersome and he just kept flipping over. The Stearns puddle jumper worked perfectly from the second he put it on.

Immediately he was jumping into the pool even in the deep end and swimming totally by himself. My daughter was thrilled that she now doesn’t have to hold him anymore and doesn’t have to worry about him falling into the pool.

I usually don’t write reviews but today I actually went out of my way to get to this page and share because I know how frustrated I was trying to find a perfect flotation device. It’s made very well and it’s soft and cushiony (other similar looking floaties I’ve seen are made of have cheap plastic with rough edges) I’m also happy that I purchased the extra one to keep on hand.

My grandson did not want to take it off when it was time to go inside.

The jacket has adjustable buckle which is really great to allow parents to adjust it to their child wearing around the body for not being tight and being loose and it hold my child`s body securely. My child loves the bright colors and design and the product seems made in a good quality of material.

The paddles fit perfectly and help my child to float and able to swim longer distance back and forth. The life jacket is very light weight and very comfortable to wear as I see my child swimming confidently and not being afraid in the water by all herself.

I am very happy I got an opportunity to try this product for my child. I may purchase another one when we need one. I definitely recommend this product! I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion and my statement here is based upon of my child experience and how the product works.

I bought my 3 year old son this in a different color in store, it was the last one. Came home and when he was about to go into the pool the arm wings one was reaching down to his wrist. It was uneven, maybe some kid tried it on in the store and stretched it out without unbuckling it to take it of.

Obviously I threw out the barcode and I was uncomfortable with him going to the pool with it. I took it back to Walmart with the receipt, no barcode and they never replaced it! Not even a refund. I call cooperate that was no help.

My local Walmart gave me such a hard time. I called puddle jumper no answer, I emailed up to now 6 months I never got a response. For the safety of my child I had to purchase another one and suck with the defective puddle jumper 13 dollars wasted.

Cheap. I returned mine right away. I have owned 5 other types of swim vest and this was the worst quality. The chest and should areas have zero cushion for flotation. The flotation is only around the waist.

The cushion pieces are also not tightly seen in so they will move around while your child swims. Very scary. I would never let my child wear this in fear that one wrong movement would flip them over and get them caught in a dangerous underwater position.

Would definately not recommend this vest.

My 4-year old got stuck upside down in the pool while wearing this. He is a strong swimmer but when we have a lot of people in the pool we require the kids to put on their floaties. My son was trying to flip in the water and got stuck upside down.

Luckily, we saw it immediately and flipped him over. But he was stuck. This flotation device distributes in the center of the body which makes it so that they can get stuck upside down. Find something the puts more of the flotation towards the top of the body.

DO NOT BUY THIS ONE!.

We’ve had this vest for 3 years and still love it. It’s comfortable and helps my kids get comfortable in the water while letting me be able to not worry. It helps them float and doesn’t make them flip, keeping their heads out of the water.

The Aqua life vest makes me little one safe! It keeps her floating about water like it should. It offers adjustable straps to fit to your child’s size. It’s easy to take on and off featuring two buckles.

It is a bright pink and purple color making it easy to keep track of your little one. I’m happy with this life vest it is very effective on keeping my child safe while anywhere on or near the water.

Infant Vest/Got from TryIt Nice, good quality and looks cute as well. It fits her perfectly and she seemed comfortable in it. We really liked the deep V in the front, so it wouldn’t be choking her. When we tested it out in the pool, we let go of her to make sure it would do its job and flip her the right way.

It flipped her onto her back with her head out of the water, like it’s supposed to do! I highly recommend this life jacket for all babies under 30lbs! It’s great for the pool, lake,and on the boat!.

My 3 years old niece is trying to learn swimming and this cool looking vest has given her extra motivation. Very bright in color. Do not goes away with multiple use. Very easy to put on. Buckles are sturdy and easy to lock in.

Very soft. Fits perfectly with help of adjustable multiple straps.

Not going to lie, initially I purchased this vest under the impression that it wouldn’t probably be as good with floating and keeping children above the water like we see happen with the popular floaties that have the arms for smaller children.

I mainly only bought this for a peace of mind while my daughter was still learning how to swim and mainly wanted something to help support her in case she got a little tired from moving her arms and such since for so long she floated more than having to work to stay afloat.

Turns out- my oldest daughter that I intended to use this vest with ended up not even using it because she caught onto swimming QUICK. So I decided to use it with our 6 year old little girl and we have found that we like it WAY MORE than anything we’ve ever used since having to use floaties.

It puts the vest with arms to shame, and in my opinion, it works out even better than the other style does because they’re made for older children whereas the other style isn’t, and because of not having the built in arm floaties like I was convinced was needed to stay afloat the way that they do, has ended up being the solution to ALL of the problems we’ve ran into so many times along the years.

1- NO MORE CHAFFED ARM PITS. I KNOW. It’s a Christmas miracle right?! Lol. 2. Because of the vests being made without the shoulder area attached for the arms, our child has been able to move around so much more easily and freely which has in return helped her stay move above water than the other style.

It’s not weirdly fitted causing her chin to get rubbed/chaffed. It’s literally the best option for children who are seemingly too big for their toddler vests and end up getting a terrible rash from being too tight on their arms, to being actually geared for their specific weight vs knowing that the vest you were using wasn’t intended to be used for their weight unfortunately bc you couldn’t find anything else to switch into before discovering this vest! She feels like she’s bigger/older and one of the bigger kids bc it doesn’t look super baby/toddler like and looks like something meant to be worn by big kids all while actually being able to move around freely without the constant annoyance from the sleeves getting in a bind every time you turn around.

Hope this helps for those of you who are curious about trying this vest out but unsure with how good the quality of actually floating them above water will end up being. It’s great!!! Just have some faith and take the leap.

You can thank me later while resting assured with the fact that I am someone who loves these so much that I’m buying a 2nd one just so my daughter can take it to keep at her moms house and not have to worry with the hassle of needing to remember to bring it back and forth.

Our 4 year old was really comfortable wearing this in the pool. It’s very light weight. He did wear a rash guard shirt under it to prevent chaffing under his arms.

It helps my daughter feel confident in the water and puts her on the path to swimming independently. She can easily move her arms – something puddle jumpers (type of decide most toddler use at or pool) don’t allow.

Dries quickly and never smells moldy. We love it.

We have tried countless floaties this summer and nothing has actually kept him above water. We’ve tried puddle jumpers, life vests etc. My son is so small and this is the only thing that worked!!

This floaty made it easy for my kiddo to hang out in the pool without and an adult holding her. She has been taking swimming lessons, but we are not all the way confident in her skills yet!

We bought this as a “life jacket” for swimming at the beach. Fortunately I was paying attention when my 4 year old who weighs 30-40 lbs stepped into a deep spot, the swimmy floated while the water was up over my sons nose he was trapped and panicking without being able to make a sound.

Swimmys need to have a crotch strap so kids don’t slide down. I was terrified and angry at the same time. DONT TRUST SWIMMYS.

I bought this for my 3 year-old grandson, and it’s very small. It squeezes his little arms, and the belt had to be fully extended. He weighs about 38 lbs, and it’s supposed to fit up to 50 lbs. Otherwise, it would be fine.

The quality feels great, and it definitely works.

Purchased this for our 2-year-old granddaughter to use in the pool. It kept her afloat without her losing her balance. After an hour of having this, she would jump right into the deep end and would come right up and float.

The only issue was have is that the part that goes around her chest rubbed two spots on either side of her underarms. Our 5-year-old granddaughter has the same one and it rubs spots on her arms after about an hour.

Otherwise, it’s a great product.

loved this vest on delivery, really well made and very pretty. It was a little too big for my daughter at the moment so it didn’t give her the support we were hoping. However, as she gets more used to the water and grows a little I am confident it will be perfect.

Love this life vest. Would not recommend this unless you are holding baby as it is not as safe as others. So cute and not so bulky as the others. This ones perfect for when Im holding my 11 month old so shes not so constricted as her other ones.

Just wish it had a crotch strap.

We went on a floating trip at the river and this vest was perfect for my 20 month old. She’s 30 lbs so she barely met the weight requirement and it fit well with some room to grow. Thankfully she never fell out of our tube but i needed to have the piece of min that she would be safe if she did fall out.

Would recommend.

Bought it for my little one and she ended up going forward- the vest put her onto her stomach and she was not a happy camper. Maybe better for an older child. It is sturdy and nice but again not for as young as it says.

Looks smart, keeps the baby afloat without restricting their movement and ability to move. Very good quality product and would recommend. Bought one for my son and his swimming pal. They are both 13 months so bought them 1-2years size which fits great with room for growth.

We just used this yesterday with my 2 year old and she loved it! It kept her afloat and let her play and swim freely but didn’t restrict her the way some swim vests do. So many people commented on how awesome it was! And my girl LOVED saying that she had wings.

I was so worried that my little one would not take to the vest due to the typical Toddler, however this went down so well… in fact my little one won’t even take it off. Quite a while to wait for the product in the U.

Excellent product for our grandchildren. They wear them whenever they enter our swimming pool area. Keeps them afloat and builds confidence. Does not impede learning to swim.

My 6yr old can swim, but has never been in deep pools. He loves to jump into water and so we needed something that wouldn’t obstruct his swimming, looks less like a baby aid and easy for him to put in and off, as well as allow him to do his crazy jumps into the water.

This was perfect. He never took it off, could join in with the older kids and has excellent buoyancy.

My daughter (4) used her swim vest for the first time today and she loved it! She’s learning to swim but still needs that additional buoyancy and this worked perfectly. She had the freedom of movement to be able to practice swimming while the vest gave her a real confidence boost in the water.

So impressed with this product. It was exactly what I was looking for. My 6 year old is very confident in the water but does not have the strength yet to stay above the water. This vest keeps him above water and meant I did not hold onto him every second.

Loved this for my 18 month old on our recent holiday, gave me confidence he was safe in the water. I was torn between this and armbands but so glad we bought this. Easy to get on and off. Supported him in the water, he was able to support himself and tread water.

An absolute must for a toddler who can’t swim yet.

Just as everyone should know as I didn’t quite understand, they sell these as 1000watt an many other options. I knew led’s were different, and I knew companies marked them up for power ratings, 100 leds at 10w a piece nice, so thinking they never run at full power, guessing around 500w.

Was a wrong thought. Turns out at most these are 150w. so finding out 2 months later, hundreds of my leaves were super tiny,”quarter sized” and 12″-12″ bushes, at 25-32″ away, lately this past month, I’ve kept up on it at 10″ away every few days and their all growing great! Just about doubled in size, still veg’ing these a little bit bigger “almost 120days now from seed” , and deffenitely recommend more than one light for flowering.

I bought 2 of these for my kids to help give them confidence in the sea. Both worked great and have brought on my kids swimming. I think only thing I would have bought the 20kg size one for my older daughter rather than the 25kg, as she could have coped with less botany and would have encouraged her to swim more.

I’m not sure why This Has Such Good Reviews. It’s Cute But It Keeps Slipping Down My 3 Year Old. She Has To Hold Her Arms Up To Keep It On. If I Wasn’t In A Rush, I Would Have Gotten The Ones With That Goes Over The Shoulder Area.

My daughter is 32lbs, 37in tall. on the tightest adjustment this life vest fits a little loose, but not enough to make me nervous. Her range of movement in the vest is good, she is able to move her arms to swim.

She is very confident even in deep water. The design is cute. I can’t stand printed character designs, which all brands of puddle jumpers seem to have, I find them obnoxious (why not just a solid color?) but this one is cute and she loves it!.

It took a couple of times going to the pool before my daughter felt comfortable with her floatie. I bought a different brand floatie before I bought this one that was not safe at all so she had a bad experience and this one did not let us down.

It’s been great! I definitely keep an eye on her at all times even though she likes being on her own now. Plus my daughter loves Minnie Mouse so she loves it and wants to go swimming every day.

I got this for my grandson. We’ve used it twice and it’s worked well – each time it was used with close parental supervision as opposed to the child floating off on his own. Two things I like: The flotation padding that crosses his belly helps make sure he will float face up, although it might not turn him over if he came to the surface face down.

Also, the unique coloration and configuration of the PFD means that it won’t get mixed up with my other PFDs and possibly wander off – it’s plainly useful only for a small child (my grandson is 15 months old but taller and larger than some 2 year olds).

One possible drawback is that the PFD is not made to accommodate a large range in size. Thus the chest strap has perhaps 4″ of play that can be adjusted, and the arm holes the child passes his arms through are perhaps 2″ in diameter.

I suspect the manufacturer has sized the PFD so that large childern ( greater than about 50 lbs) cannot use it. I will not be surprised if this PFD cannot fit my grandson comfortably this time next year and I will be amazed to get 3 years use out of it.

I bought this for my 3 year old when I planned a vacation that included a pool at the hotel. He absolutely loved it and couldn’t wait to get it on. This is perfect for introducing kids to the water. The first day in, he was a bit unsure and didn’t want to let go of my hand, but by the second day, he was much more confident, swimming all around the pool by himself.

It wasn’t bulky on him and allowed him to freely move, all while feeling safe and secure. I absolutely recommend this for EVERYONE! If you are looking into getting any of the Puddle Jumper Life Jackets, or are just browsing for options, I highly recommend watching the YouTube videos posted of other people trying them out.

We bought this for my 2. 5 year old because I wanted her to learn to swim this summer, or at least gain some confidence in the water without me having to hold her upright like with a regular life jacket.

This life jacket really is amazing. She learned to swim with it on in one afternoon at the pool. We have used it at the lake, the river, and multiple pools. She jumps into the deep end of our friend’s in-ground pool with no fear and can swim laps in this life jacket.

Great product, definitely recommend to any parent of a toddler. I used this for my son who is just shy of 2 1/2 while in Bali, it mean he could play in the paddling pool without fear of toppling over all the time.

Our little boy (2yo) loves this swimming vest – the squeals of excitement the first time he used it was so cute. He appears to be comfortable wearing it and doesn’t ride up, which was our biggest concern.
