Love the top, keeps my bald head from burning. Install directions aren’t great. Strap A is the strap to the rear. Also get your back straps attached with a little tension so you can actually get the front tab to stay in place.

So, first things first! The lights are amazingly bright and, IMHO, well worth the $$$. However, there were no instructions included, which is fine since FOR THE MOST PART THESE ARE A SIMPLE SWAP with the existing harness.

However, the heated versions I received had an additional red wire that does not plug into the harness. What should I do with it? Is it required for the heated portion in winter? Red usually indicates a powered wire, but how do I know for certain? Should it be a switched power source? Should it be wired with an inline fuse? Should it be wired with a relay? Ultimately, I received an answer from JWSpeaker, “You can ignore the red wire unless you want DRLs.

” Still not enough info. suppose I DO want DRLs, some guidance is pertinent given that these things cost a small fortune that I wish I’d put into a new bumper or lift! All in all, excellent lights but poor customer communication.

Much time was wasted searching their website to only fail to find any information. The Truck Lites might be a better deal since they cost less money for similar output. Now I have to figure out how to wire up DRLs and I get to repeat the process.

Watch the online video first and it looked simple and perfect fitting. I did not notice the door surrounds as an integral part of the perfect fit. I don’t have door surrounds so needless to say, I don’t have water shed to the outside of my doors.

Light rain comes straight in to the inside of my doors. Having said that, after looking at the picture on the outside of my package, my install is similar to the picture, however I ordered it expecting a fit as shown in the installation video.

Outside of that my only complaint is that the Velcro straps keep pulling apart as they are too short to wrap around the roll bars. I would recommend a little bit longer Velcro strap with a wider grip area.

I wanted a cheap sunshade so that I could ditch my hardtop for the summer without being murdered by the sun. I’ve had it on for a couple of months now and it has absolutely met or exceeded all expectations.

It has stayed tight for extended highway trips. It doesn’t make a lot of noise as long as you get the excess straps tucked away. I haven’t been rained on yet, but it’s held up well against dust and brutal sun.

I’d like if it was a little simpler to install/remove, but that’s really more of a fantasy than a practical desire. It took me a little more than an hour to set it up the first time because I’m a dummy, but it can easily be set up in less than that once you’ve seen how it works.

No regrets!.

Love it! I was looking for something that was easy to install and take down. This was it! This didn’t need the door surrounds either, which I was very happy about. Fits great and doesn’t flop in the wind.

2007 Unlimited Saraha – Just got the top. It appears to be pretty good quality, and the header attached to the top easily. Installation isn’t difficult, but they sent the wrong directions in the packaging, so it took a while to understand why there weren’t enough straps, etc.

This was frustrating. Also, in hind-sight, it would have been better for me to choose a summer top that reflects the sun. The next part isn’t criticism, just FYI in case you’re wondering: The material is waterproof, but it doesn’t utilize the door surround channels, so rain will run-off to the inside of the doors.

The top attaches and only covers the roll-cage.

I love it! I switched from my hard top. It’s a lot more convenient to remove and store when going topless. Obviously, a little louder due to wind sheer but my jeep is not my daily driver. I like the look of the angled back instead of the boxy LJ look, but it does make it more difficult to get in the rear storage.

I also like the additional storage above the driver and passenger seats. Overall, i am completely satisfied with the sturdiness and ease of installation.

Great product, excellent quality, superb fit, looks killer and very functional. However, if you are new to jeeps as I was, be aware that this kit only works if you already have a soft top! If you have a hardtop you will need to purchase a windshield rail, a tailgate bar and door surrounds in order to instal it.

These items together are just as expensive as this kit (if you buy them new), so be prepared to spend double. (All of this is mentioned in the description, but its not obvious) If you are not in a rush I suggest trying to find some used parts to make it work.

I found door surrounds locally for $50.

Very well made and i really like it. The issue is that the rear window simply will not fit. It is a good 4 inches from zipping up. I know, I know, let it set out in the sun and it will stretch. The top fits extremely tight, i mean really tight.

The sides are also very tight, this thing is never coming off unless you cut it off. I live in Phoenix Arizona; I let it set in the 105 degree sun for over 6 hours, it isn’t going to stretch enough for the back window to ever zip.

My plan is to go to one of the local upholstery shops and see if they can make a double edged zipper that is about 5 to 6 inches in width, this way i can zip it to the side and then zip it to the window.

I give it 3 stars because it is very good quality, just poorly measured and cut at the China factory.

This was a purchase i was nervous to make because of fitment and cost. After having it for about a month I can say I am more than a 100% pleased with this product. Once ordered it got here much sooner than expected with good packaging.

After initial opening of the box the whole installation took about an hour and a half. The back window was a little hard to get on because the fitting was a little tight but I was told by a lot of jeep owners that by the first summer it’ll stretch a bit.

But the quality of the material is great and it looks amazing with my black Jeep. The tops already been through a few rain storms and is great. Really no leaks and keeps my stuff dry. Like I said in the beginning I am more than a 100% pleased with this product and If your looking at getting one I definitely recommend it!.

My 2005 TJ needed a replacement for the original soft top but the Bestop seemed pricey. I gave Smittybilt Bowless soft top a chance and I love it. It looks great. Less equipment to mess with. The one issue is the top does not fit the OEM windshield header.

If you have an original soft top on your TJ, you’ll need to get a new windshield header for soft tops.

I didn’t want to spend the money on the “fold back” type of top, so I ordered this one. I was NOT disappointed!! It fits great, LOVE the storage pockets in the front, wasn’t too hard to put on. I put it on mostly by myself in 100 degree temperatures.

Had to have a bit of “muscle” help from the boyfriend to get the windows zipped up, but I think, had it not been so hot, I could have gotten them on myself. The storage for the windows is so convenient! Looks great on my Jeep!!!.

I guess everyone is entitled to a bad day. I purchased this top thinking it would be a little better quality over OEM and at first glance it seems to be just that. Thick material, very durable looking and black interior.

Once installing things went down hill. Laid the top out in the sun on the driveway for about an hour before I started, new it would need some stretching help. Got the old top off the factory frame, laid out the new one and got the front bar all screwed down after carefully lining up like the instructions noted (poor instructions btw).

Connected the springs back and and began the process of pulling down the corners of the top so that I could install the windows and get everything put together. First I tried with the front support locked down, but could not get the corners pulled down at all.

Im 6’2″, 220 and have always been able to put my factory top together even in the coldest weather, it was all I could do to get one corner pulled down. So had to unclamp and partially fold back the front, I pulled the corners down and then took every bit of strength I could muster to pull the front down to get one side to latch.

Once I did I was able to get the other side to latch. At this point I am still thinking it will stretch out. I pulled the Jeep out of the garage and parked in the sun. 82 degree bright sunny day. It sat for over an hour while I ate lunch and recovered from the previous wrestling match I had just barely won.

After lunch I proceeded to zip in the windows. Started with the drivers side rear and with some effort finally got it in and pressed into the door surround channels. The passenger side would not even line up.

It was off by 1. 5 inches and was at a really extreme angle. Upon further inspection I noticed there was at least 1/2″ to 3/4″ gap along the door surrounds front to back and with just some light touch you could see the metal frame work of the factory frame.

At this point I gave up and completely removed the entire assembly and put the hard top back on. Very disappointed and was really shocked. It’s like the entire top was made too small and the fit and finish was terrible.

Extreme Terrain was fantastic for the RMA process and Rugged Ridge was very apologetic. I think this particular top that I got was passed over by Quality Control.

The sail cloth is high quality and twice the weight of my old vinyl top. The fit is amazing, it is perfectly cut for my 2011 2dr JK and the install was straightforward. I’m 65 with worn out shoulders.

My wife and I installed this new top in about 3 hours one evening. The instructions were so so. Ended up using your YouTube instructional video as a guide and made the install pretty easy. First time installing a soft top and it turned out great.

Love the tinted windows. Keeps the UV rays to a bare minimum inside the Jeep.

Original soft top needed to go and this was a great replacement option. Easy to install and high quality. The rear window was a tight zip at first but an hour in the sun did the trick. After it was installed for a day, removing/adding the rear window was easy.

Ensure you have masking tape, painters tape, or some form of fabric tape to complete the install.

Installed this yesterday in 50 degree temps and it went on way easier than I expected. I still had the factory top on my 2005 TJ and it had ripped in several places as well as had holes in the roof from falling icicles.

I watched the YouTube installation video several times as we went, and my husband and I installed it in a little less than an hour. The windshield channel screw openings were not quite matched up with the actual holes on the bow frame, so that took a lot of pulling and swearing to get close, but other than that everything lined up really well.

We’ve driven it around on highways and local roads for a few hours since installation and it’s tight as a drum with much less road noise old top. It looks way better than I expected it to. As I think with all tops, the rear window and side windows were tough, but these zippers were much easier to handle than the original top.

I’m sure if it was warmer out it would have been a lot easier. I didn’t need the half door skins since I had full doors, it might have been nice to have the option to buy the top without the door skins for a slightly reduced price.

I really like the pockets in the roof over the driver and passenger seats! I think this will work out really well.

The initial out of the box reaction was great. After that it was down hill. I initially noticed the fit was loose, I could live with that if that was the only problem. Then the back window wouldn’t zip in.

It seems like something in the corner wasn’t lined up right. I tried different things, couldn’t get it to zip in. Then things REALLY went down hill. Extreme Terrain couldn’t do an exchange or refund.

I contacted Smittybilt. Their customer service does just enough to call themselves customer service, not fast, don’t really seem to care if you’re riding around with an open Jeep. The second top came.

I installed it, everything initially worked, I chalked it up to “I guess this is gonna be good enough”. I kept the top down for the next month, because I could. The first time I put the top back up it started coming apart.

Two zipper pulls came off just moving the zipper pull up to zip in the windows. One of the tabs on the back to pull the sail panel over ripped out the first time I touched it. Their response, send another top.

I’m just assuming at this point that I’ll be replacing this thing every month or so all winter long. I have no intention of EVER buying another Smittybilt product. Also if the in top storage has you excited, it’s neat but almost useless.

I thought I could figure out something that I could use it for, I can’t. They just look cool being up there.

I was advised that the material for this top was thinner than others and that there were potential issues with zippers or snaps. I found the fit and finish to be as described. The top was easy to install and is snug/watertight.

It is much quieter than the framed top at speed. Since it is offered only in black, I was concerned that I would cook under the Virginia sun but not so. The velcro additions are a nice touch and stowage is a thoughtful feature.

I enjoy the relatively rapid convertibility. Field of view is good and the tuckrails hold on tight- with the exception of the inside of the rear windo borders. I think the overall value is there. The profile this top offers is very visually appealing (to me) and leads me to believe that my aerodynamic cinder block slips through the ether just a little bit easier.

I recommend it for what it was designed to be- a secondary top.

Airaid makes some good products but this one couldve been thought out better: 1) include a snorkel with the kit or redesign it to allow a simple bolt on of the stock unit rather than permanently modifying your stock box, 2) shave a bit of width and height off the air box so you are able to open your fuse box without having to remove the fuse box cover lid (or removing the airbox itself to be able to open the fuse box lid) and so you dont get contact with the hood which will scratch the paint or eventually wear a hole through the hood pad and 3) a clear plastic cover over the filter box would save some time in checking the filter without having to pull the lid.

Functions nicely when on but be sure to use lots of silicone to waterproof the snorkel / air box joint if you are going to use a snorkel as there are gaps. When mounted almost stock quiet with the aluminium lid in place – you will hear it a bit when you get on it but the wife probably wont notice.

With the lid off you it will be noticeable in the cab when you get on it. Got a great deal on mine but not sure I will keep it on due to the fuse box issue. Product is nicely made.

After I’ve had this top on my 91 YJ for a year, I’m a little less than satisfied. It went on great, and looked great! First issue was the supports that are supposed to keep rain from collecting on the top.

They made so much noise when going down the road, it was hard to hear. It only took a few miles before i got rid of them. Second, the first time i took off the top portion, two snaps broke. When i took it off in the fall to put it into storage for the winter, another snap broke.

This spring, on a very sunny and nice day, i took it off and a fourth snap broke! I also noticed the stitching comming apart on the rear window. The door pillars/frames never would stay in place or seal very well on the rubber grommet on the rail.

Lastly, the velcro for the inside netting came off the first time I gave it a tug. Overall, I love the top in general, but the quality is lacking. Especially those damn snaps!.

Installed this for spring. I got it as a gift and installed it myself. The YouTube video was much easier to work with than the instructions. I love the freedom of popping the top. The one thing that drives me crazy is the loose fabric when I pop the top blows out like a balloon.

It doesn’t stay nice and tucked.

Great top, instructions were ok, although some part were pre-installed which was confusing with the parts list and steps within the instructions. Only had a few complaints the tailgate bar doesn’t fit the brackets to well, the screws provided for the tailgate bracket don’t fit and zipper pulls would be a nice inclusion to the kit.

If not, I suggest getting some zipper pulls.

other than installing the driver and passenger brackets this was pretty easy install. so nice and convenient to convert to almost no roof while on the road. a little noisy compared to hardtop but thats expected.

love this thing, will use it all summer and fall until the temp drops and the snow falls.

This top replaced the stock diamond cloth top on my JK. The installation video provided by Extreme Terrain was extremely helpful. I took my time on the install and watched some parts of the video multiple times to be sure I installed the top correctly.

Overall, it took me just a bit over 2 hours without help. Having an extra set of hands probably would have made it easier. Aligning the screw holes on the top fabric to the center support bar was a bit challenging but with a little patience it turned out great.

The hardest part of the install was the side windows, just because the fabric is pretty tight. It helps to follow the instructions exactly – start with zipping the window 1-2″, then roll the plastic into the channel on the door surround.

After that, zip up the window and finally press the plastic along the bottom of the window into the channel. I tried to put secure the front of the windows into the channel in the door surround last and it made it extremely difficult.

Much easier in the correct order. (The video also shows it in the correct order as well). Like others have mentioned, the quality of the fabric is impressive. I deducted a star for bang for your buck because this top is expensive.

Tinted windows are nice and help cut down on bright headlights from behind. It might be a bit quieter at highway speeds, but I didn’t notice a massive difference. I’m really happy with the top. Highly recommended!.

I have owned 3 Jeep TJs and this top is the BEST fitting after market top I have had. Worth paying the extra price. Zippers work with no extra tugging. Installation was easy. I did have to drill 4 holes.

Two were new holes and two were to line up with the previous holes. All other holes were properly pre-drilled. It is not too tight as to cause difficulty in putting it on the jeep or taking it off. My old top required two people to put it back on.

Windows are nicely tinted and sufficiently pliable. There is nothing I do not like about this top.

The install was about as hard as to be expected. The video provided on Extreme Terrain will be your best friend. I have limited tool and do not normally work on my vehicles and I had no problem with the install (minus getting that darn spring out of the carrier, not the tops fault).

I do have to say the fit is EXTREMELY tight and when I was attempting to zip up the rear window the pull string on the zipper broke (not the zipper itself). Now it did install this top in 40 degree weather so I think the warmer it gets the more the top will stretch so I am not to worried about it.

This is the first new top I bought for my jeep. Installation was easy and quick. Looks fantastic, very easy to raise and lower. High quality material. One con was that not all the holes were drilled to attach it to the front bar.

Easily taken care of, but worth mentioning.

After reading so many horror stories about poor quality and poor fitment I was scared to buy a replacement top! I called bestop and found out pavement ends is there sister company. And I also found out bestop has five year warranty and pavement ends has one year warranty I went with pavement ends! And quality couldnt have asked for better top! Just received and installed it so I have owned it for literally an hour.

But so far I am extremely happy!.

This top is great! The installation was very simple once we figured out how to install the bolts – the installation guide could have provided more detail here. Also, an installation video would be helpful.

In order to get the bolts to thread into the Jeep, you need to use a ratchet – we could not get the bolts to “bite” by simply trying to tighten them by hand. If you use a ratchet to get both bolts started, you can then check to make sure everything is lined up properly and tighten them completely.

The remainder of the installation was straightforward. This top is well-made and looks great. It definitely gives you the best of both worlds – the open air feel with no hardtop and no doors but you are shaded from the hot sun and you get some break from the wind.

I doubt I will reinstall my hardtop until October!!.

NOTE: This top DOES NOT require a separate windshield header. I bought the separate header at the recommendation of the ExtremeTerrain team, but I had to return it because it wasn’t needed. This is very well-made, with high-quality materials and good fit.

I have only two small issues: 1) The top is snapped to the header first, and then the header is screwed to the Jeep using bolts through the existing holes for the hardtop. This means that if you’re not using the top, you need to store the whole thing (including the header) in the Jeep, and putting it on requires putting in the bolts with a wrench.

So if you get caught in a sudden storm, it could take a little while to get it on. 2) The instructions are not particularly clear, so it’s hard to tell which way the header attaches to the top.

We got this primarily for parking outside overnight and to fight off bird poop. It has come in handy with light showers or when the sun is brutal. Two bolts are pretty easy to tighten. Takes about 5 minutes to install the top and same to take it off.

If you are out and about and can stick this in the back then it comes in handy if a super pops up. It does let in water in the back and also the sides. But it protects the front seat passengers and does keep the majority of water out.

It also cuts down on wind at high speeds. I really recommend this to anyone who wants something that can go on quick and give you some decent protection from elements and birds.

It arrived within three days of ordering. The box was undamaged and everything appeared to be in good shape. All of the necessary parts were included. All of the new mechanical pieces were easy to install.

However, if you think you will be able to install the cloth top in four hours, think again. I am very mechanical and have every tool known to mankind. It took me four days and several calls and photographs to the Bestop representatives to finally get it on.

Thank God for their help. I did it by myself in a very warm, heated garage. It doesn’t simply zip together like the video says. At the end of the day, it fits like a glove with no extra room to spare.

Over the four days, I probably worked on it for six or seven hours. When I got around to installing the rear window, there were two places where the window showed some abrasion damage from transportation.

It was slight and only plainly visible from the outside, so It’s not worth making a claim on it, especially if I have to remove the entire top. That’s not happening. My biggest complaint is that they recently changed the size of the pan-head screws used to attach the top to the middle and rear support bars.

They switched to a smaller Philips head, causing the head to strip out before the screw could cut its way into the metal. I eventually had to use the ones on the original top. All said and done, I really like it.

It fits like a glove, without a wrinkle in sight an is much quieter. I would recommend it and would purchase it again.

Overall quality of the material was good, but the following improvements should be implemented for the design to be more robust and assembly capable. 1. Improve fastening method of Top to retracting bars.

Either a two piece bar system and slide it into “loops” in the Cover. An easier but less robust solution would be to replace the attachment fasteners from a Phillips head to an external Hex head. This would allow for improved torque capability to reduce the chance of stripping the fastener head.

2. Instructions would be clearer if a picture or identification always showed the vehicle orientation. It was not clear installing the main rail system to the front latch attachment.

First off, I was nervous about buying a soft top for my Jeep because I knew nothing about the soft top installation and what all was needed to install a complete soft top. I originally had a hard top for my Jeep (so I had no original hardware whatsoever for a soft top), but since it was summer and we often went to the beach, I figured I needed to switch it up for the season.

After doing my research and looking through the reviews and Q&A, I finally decided to order the Bestop Supertop NX and I was very impressed! I ordered the top on a Sunday and it was delivered to me by Wednesday that same week.

I was very happy about the speed of shipping (although that may have something to do with where I am located). The installation took time. I believe that it can be done alone, but it helps to have a second hand.

It took two of us to install it and it took about two and a half hours from start to finish. The instructions, in my opinion, were very thorough and easy to follow. Overall the installation process went smoothly.

However, I will say a few things: 1) They did not provide extra screws, so be careful not to lose them!! We used every single screw and washer and there were no spares. 2) The parts are labeled by numbers.

Some numbers are on the plastic that is storing the part and some numbers are engraved or stickered on the part itself. For those of you that are wondering about hardware, this part includes EVERYTHING you need to install the soft top.

You do not need to worry about buying separate parts or pieces!! The fabric is great. It is high quality. We tested it out after installation and I didn’t hear any flapping. We got on the interstate and went about 75 MPH and the noise was just the usual wind noise you normally hear with a Jeep.

I will say though, since the soft top is a thinner material than the hard top, you’ll be able to hear your surroundings a lot more clearly. I also went through some steady rain and I had no problem with leaks.

The sun rider was a little difficult to figure out at first since it doesn’t tell you how to do it properly in the manual. I had to search for multiple videos on YouTube to figure out how to do it properly.

When you go to fold back the top, make sure to pull the fabric back out of the way. There should be a total of two folds. Then, you take the straps with Velcro (its use wasn’t specified in the manual either) and wrap it around the bar to secure it in place.

We tried the sun rider feature in speeds of 60 MPH and it did just fine! Overall, I am highly satisfied this product and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a soft top for their Jeep!.

It is definitely thinner material than the stock soft top, but the fit is very tight. We had to use a foam wedge on top of the sound bar with the stock top because of noise, we have not had to use it with this top and it’s quieter by far.

We installed it in the winter (don’t recommend) and expected it to stretch when the weather warmed up, but we’ve had several weeks in the 90s now and no issues. Very happy!.

My son started the install by himself and got about half way. We finished it together and I think connecting the back portion first and then the middle ensures the top is pulled tight enough and will not result in any sagging.

The top replaced the original MOPAR on our 2010 2-door Jeep Wrangler Islander. It seems to be a bit quieter and the tinted windows do look good. Will add pictures later.

Bought this top summer of 2021, ignore a lot of the negative reviews you see. Most people having issues probably installed it wrong. Pay attention to each detail when installing, any small inaccuracy can cause a space in the top to let water in when it rains (I learned that the hard way).

When installed right, top is very easy to take apart and put back together and secure when it rains. After a few times to get the hang of it, takes me 10-15 minutes tops, and that includes me having to bring the pieces down to my condo basement.

Within a garage, would take no more than 5 minutes. Lot of tops cost close to $2k. This one is all you need to quickly strip her down and enjoy the summer! I do recommend 2-3 people to help with install and those with natural critical thinking when it comes to putting things together.

BUT one time long install since you keep the brackets on permanently. I replaced the soft top with hard top for winter and it was much easier the second time to just reattach the soft top.

This top took definitely took the 4hrs to install. Make sure you have the right tools and a helper. I’ve already had a piece on the tailgate window piece that has broken or just doesn’t seem to fit properly.

I have only taken the back window off a handful of times, so I’m disappointed by that. Also, when the top is completely down, the arms rattle and are a bit noisy with the wind. Maybe this is normal, as I’ve never had a soft top.

I haven’t figured out how to eliminate the rattle, so that probably isn’t the top’s fault. All in all, I’m happy I purchased it. I haven’t put my hard top back on in over a year, so I have no idea about that process yet.

but I’ve enjoyed the overall flexibility.

Wanted a soft top for summer to be able to go topless easy. The paper instructions are garbage in my opinion. The video for the installation as well isn’t very detailed as there were many issues we came upon.

As the video just shows do this. with out really showing you 100% how to do it. The video also shows it 1000x easier compared to actually putting it on. I suggest anyone doing this for the first time watch REAL customers in detail how to do this.

We let it sit in the sun for about 2 days. Got out there late after noon to start it and it deff took about 5 hours with 2 people. A few issues were the front fold bars we put on the wrong side due to pictures weren’t very well descriptive for a 1st time installer.

Trying to get the side windows locked in was a nightmare (the instructions didn’t help and video just showed him quick popping them in with zero instructions it Tok us a few times to figure out how/where it hooked up to).

The back flap lmao that was a NIGHTMARE! as you get one side in, trying to get the other side in. the opposite side pops. So you will have to have someone holding one side while using your body weight to pull and latch it in.

We attempted to put the last piece in that locks the back into place. After 20min trying to get it we gave up. So it just kind of ‘hangs’ there. After setting it up a few hours later it rained. My Driver side floor had a puddle due to a leak.

Never had a leak with the hard top so unsure if it leaked cause it was new and hasn’t ‘stretched’ out or if this is going to continue. This week it’s going to be raining the entire time and if it keeps leaking everyday I will be returning this product.

Overall expect to spend half the day doing this. Watch multiple videos Take breaks Expect to mess up about 3x lol Eat or have snacks to take off the ease of the nightmare.

When I put the new soft top on my jeep, it was beautiful. The quality of the material is great! I love how it has the storage compartments inside on the roof. BUT, it does leak on the sides over the window.

Because this top fits so tightly, there is space over the front and rear doors that is not fully covered. I thought it wouldn’t be an issue and eventually it would stretch itself out to resolve this issue.

I ended up returning it because I was too nervous it would not stretch out enough to prevent the leaking. (Returns from be processed within 30 days).

The top looks, and fits great. Noise level was significantly reduced. All the little extras are a nice touch. I’m really happy with this choice. ?

Only 4 stars because they originally had sent me a used or returned top that had missing parts and stripped screws. If I’m paying $800 for a new top I want new not a used one. They did make it right and swapped it out right away though in less than a week.

The install wasn’t that bad just like some other people had mentioned the threaded handles could be about a quarter inch longer at the least and had a hard time with the driver side for some reason like other people mentioned also.

I found out if you put the clip on and screw it in place that’s like 2 steps later it will match up and thread a lot easier. It looks good and fit well it just needs time to stretch out a bit more because right now it is hard to close back up.

Over all I’m happy with the look and ease of opening it up.

Yes, it is a little pricey but I have no regrets. So much better than dealing with removing and stashing the freedom panels. The only drawback would be that the wind is a bit worse with this down than simply with the panels out.

But I get so much more use out of this. It’s a positive trade off. Installtion was pretty easy doing it alone. I only had one bit of difficulty where I thought the bolts were going to be too short until I realized the rails were not seated fully.

So that part was tricky getting them fuly seated but once I realized the issue I sailed through it. Once I got them seated good it was a breeze to finish and it fit like a glove. Had I been outside with better light I’d probably not have had that trouble.

But it was a rainy cold day so I put them on inside my garage with less than great light. Getting the z-clips in was not super easy nor was it that hard either though it took a try or two. With it closed I see very little noise difference.

I have had it on a bit over 2 months and went on a 3 week business trip right after installing it and it was outside in a lot of heavy rain and not a drop got through. And I have since driven in rain quite a bit and it has remained dry.

So it has been leak tested really well and came through with flying colors.

Great product but installation for a novice like me was tough. The 1 hour installation time was 1/2 a day with an assist from my mechanic. All the parts were included, everything protected well for shipping.

I had difficulty getting the holes to line up and cutting a slit in the roll bar cover was not enough. I had to remove a good square of material. Once I had it all together except the big screws that go into the freedom panels I tried to close it and I couldn’t.

My mechanic was in and he helped out for a total of 10 minutes and had it all in place. Pays to know what you are doing. I’ve had it retracted then back in place numerous times now. Absolutely love it.

I was going for a bestop then changed to a replacement version and this was the cheapest I could find, so I went for it. It’s my first ragtop swap, and overall wasn’t too bad. My son helped and it still took a couple of hours.

My vehicle’s check straps were dry rotted or sunbaked meaning they were coming apart. So I used some thin tiedown straps to connect the mid and rear hoops, which might have an impact on the fit as I do not know the correct distance for the hoops to be from each other.

The top is thinner than the factory, and flaps a bit more than my (possibly) original 2008 ragtop, but it may be my installation. It fits good as far as I can tell, the zippers work quite a bit better than my old top, but the back window is still a pain in the a$$ to remove and more of a pain to install.

Again, my install might be causing some issues. With all three windows out, and tube doors installed, the front edges of the rear pillars do a fair amount of flapping at road speeds. Each time we’ve been configured that way, I expect the lower lip to come loose at any moment and the pillars to begin flailing away, but hasn’t happened yet.

For 286 bucks, you’ll have a hard time beating it.

You have many different choices when it comes to soft tops. I chose this top because of all the great reviews and to be honest, the price was right. Don’t get me wrong I was skeptical about the quality because of the price.

No doubt there are better soft tops out there you can buy, but for the money this top is a steal!!!!!! The top was installed outside in 34 degree weather, and there was no issues with the fit because of the cold.

We are currently in winter and there are no issues with leaking what so ever,0, I Couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend.

After laying the top and windows out in the sun for a couple of hours, the install was pretty easy. Good instructions, seemed easy to follow. Was going to spend the money for the expensive twill top but this Jeep sees some off-road time, low tree limbs and lots of brush while hunting.

I figured it might not be the best idea to spend so much on a top that most likely will get beat up. I’ll see how it holds up but so far the top has been up and down with windows in and out at least 30 times and it looks just like new.

Everything goes right back into place like it should, very good quality so far, I’m impressed.

We have a 2007 2 door JK that only came with a factory hardtop. We just added the Supertop NX in Premium Twill using the full factory metal doors. It comes with everything needed to add a soft top option.

The Premium Twill top is an extremely high quality, thick, triple layer fabric just like the premium factory option that came in later years. I can see why it comes with a lifetime warranty. The top fits extremely snug and doesn’t have any flapping while driving down the highway.

And the tinted windows are extremely thick and help keep things quiet and dry due to the heat sealing. At highway speeds, there is only as much wind noise as my 10+ year old factory hardtop has. I think only the tire noise seems just a little louder inside versus the hardtop and that is probably because of my oversize mud terrain tires.

I especially like that there are adjustment holes in the mounting to keep it tight as the top stretches over time. Removing the top at the end of the season is quick and painless with the levers and quick release knuckles.

It was quickly Wife-Approved with no complaints about my choice of top. I highly, highly recommend watching a few online videos about the installation before starting. The Bestop and ExtremeTerrain videos watched together were very thorough and complete.

Some reviews said the instructions were hard to follow, but watching the videos before-hand made understanding the paper instructions a breeze. I could see where someone could get confused, but after having seen it in on video, it was simple.

I didn’t have a table in the garage so I did the front bar install first then the top on the Jeep like in the ExtremeTerrain video. Make sure to pay attention to the fine details in the written instructions as to when something should point inside or outside, forward or backward, up or down.

I installed the frame and top myself in about 3 hours at a relaxed pace. It was cold in the fall, so I then lightly attached the windows with the velcro and left it in a warm garage with an extra space heater to soften the windows before trying to zip them in tightly.

That made it pretty easy to then zip them in a day later. Hint: If zipping in the back window is easy but the sides seem impossible or vice versa, you probably don’t have the vertical corner pieces centered properly.

Have someone pull down on the top rear corners of the frame while you slide the corners along the tub rail closer to the window that is acting tough to install. When brand new, the windows should all be very snug to zip in, but not too easy.

And I highly recommend getting their Hoss Window Storage Duffle to store the windows in when you take them off. That way when you get to the trail, you can quickly remove the windows and roll them up, each between protective fabric, while you head out into the dust.

And we love the different options: Full top, Sunrider, safari top, or just flipping the whole top down against the tailgate. If a rain shower comes along, it is fast and easy to quickly flip back up and latch into place.

It is a much cheaper option than ordering the premium factory OEM replacement but with the same quality. And it is obviously better quality than the cheaper ones I’ve seen, some of which were probably from the factory.

Definitely worth the money for the premium top.

Installed mine on my Rubicon yesterday, finally after getting it for Christmas five months ago. Great quality and super fit. Apparently I am slower than the others commenting with my install time. Took me 5 hours to remove hardtop with the lift (had to readjust the lift due to being sized for our TJ) and put the soft top on.

Did it all as a one-man job, which could be why it took so long. Only downside of this product is that the directions are horrible. Knowing which part is which for the frame, and what side is which can be challenging.

Also which goes towards the front and to the back was very hard to figure out. Installed the front hinges bow backwards and had to redo it with the canvas over it. That added 20 mins to the install. Putting complete top up by yourself definitely has a learning curve.

Getting the whole frame up to the horizontal position by yourself took me 8 or nine tries. Think I have figured it out but would love tricks and tips in the instructions.

I purchased and installed the Supertop NX in Black twill on my 2007 2 Door. Me and my youngest son completed the install in about 3 1/2hours, taking our time. Instructions were complete and fairly easy to use.

Don’t skip any steps and you’ll be fine. It also helps to watch a few videos online before the install. Again follow the instructions while installing the top because the videos I seen do leave a few steps out.

We opened the box and layed all the the fabrics out in the sun to heat while we were removing the old stock top and installing the new frame. This top is so nice! I didn’t realize just how bad my stock top had become.

My original top did not have the Sunrider feature, it was faded and noisy. The black twill is obviously a step up in quality over my stock soft top. The black twill color looks great and the wind noise is very low.

With my old top it was hard to have a conversation because of the wind noise. Not a problem now. I was hesitant at first to spend this much money on a top. But the great reviews I have read and the Limited Life Time warranty and what help me decide to spend the extra on an updated top.

So glad I did. IMO the extra was worth it.

Did a lot of research and landed on the Bestop Trektop NX as a “frameless” soft top. Was very impressed with the thickness of the window plastic and black denim material. Installation was a bit of a hassle, one of the door frames had to be tapped with a rubber mallet to get the bolt holes to line up.

Added about 15 minutes to my time getting that right. The header piece had some metal components ( latches that hook onto windshield frame) and I was surprised to find a little rust on their corners inside the header.

I hit them up with some lanolin, that’ll do it. Again- high quality, beefy components and fitment was great for the most part. I feel like I got my money’s worth, especially since a traditional factory style soft top with frame costs at least 400 dollars more than this.

I love the top! It looks great and it’s serious quality. There are a few confusing parts the booklet. The you have to attach the fabric top to the back upper support bar, you’ll use 6 of the small screws.

I was confused at first because there are no hole indications on the fabric, no pre drilled holes…. yes there is. It took me a minute to recognize that they existed. They are tiny tiny little spots where the manufacturing machine basically poked a pin through the fabric.

You really have to look for them. The video says 2 hour install. The book says 4. It took us just over 4. But we also ended up working into the night. Ie in the dark but with lights. I highly recommend letting the fabric sit in the hot sun before install.

Toward the end our install, that’s what took so much time. I didn’t let it sit in the sun and loosen up. That B is tight! All said and done however, looks awesome and I love it.

I had the OEM Fastback soft top, which I believe Bestop made for Jeep, but not sure. The only fastback top I could not open the tailgate without removing the rear window, which is really unfun. Since my 17 JK is mostly for 4-Wheeling I simply removed the rear window the last 2 years and never went into inclement weather.

But after moving to 40s and Dana 60s, I want to do more snow wheeling. Last weekend was the first ever in 41 years of wheeling, I went on the Rubicon with doors and a full sealed top. It was in the 30’s, and with the heater on, it was quite comfortable.

Install wasn’t horrible, but 2 people make it much easier. Driving on the freeway, no unnecessary flapping or wind noise. I’m quite pleased and do not miss having a hard top anymore. Win.
