20 Best Tower Air Conditioner (2022 Updated)

Bought this a month ago after our old through the wall ac gave up. This new ac was the same size but way more features, higher btus, energy saver feature, and has heat. It came with complete accs such as foam strips, back protective grills, etc.

Btw, for installation, i hired an electrician which im glad i did. The manufacturers of these brand was so concerned about the customers safety that the had a built-in breaker w/ led light on the 240v 20amp plug (different plug from 240v 15amp).

So he had to re-route our outlet from hidden inside the wall to the frontside (and upgrading our outlet at the same time). So if the power fluctuates, the built in breaker will trip to protect the sc unit and your home, all i have to do is press the button on the plug to reset without having to remove the whole ac to access the plug.

But if your ac outlet is located on the front, then you have nothing to change. Great product, bang for the buck.

Did not cool small room at all. The cool air stayed on for 90 seconds then shut off to the fan over night. Room was so hot my son asthma started to bother him. The heat from the room had us both sweating to the point out shirts were wet.

the A/C unit arrived on the day that was posted in good condition. This Air conditioner is a very good product. Installation is easy and the directions easy to understand. Once installed, it is very quiet and with the fan mode on and temperature set to your comfort level, it runs like a top! It quickly cools my living room (12 X 10 ) and kitchen ( 12 X 14).

It has a remote control unit, which I like too. Over all, this is a very good buy for the money and I can recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a sturdy and dependable A/C unit.

I purchased 2 units along with the installation sleeves. The Koldfront sleeves are important as these units need the proper intake air direction and seal to work properly. The sleeves are well made and make for a very clean and EASY installation.

They have been in now for 5 months down here in SW Florida on the Gulf Coast and it has been hot and humid. The DRY setting which works as a de-humidifier works very well and keeps the rooms free of humidity which is very important here.

The noise level is acceptable. They look nice and perform well. For the price this was an excellent purchase. Installation & clear instructions are a 5. Performance is a 4+. Noise level I ‘d rate at a 4.

This unit generated a lot of cold air. Unfortunately it was defective as the shaft for the fan was bent. The unit began blowing cold air and shortly afterwards it began making a loud clanking sound as it banged against the body of the unit.

I spent 2 hours adapting the vent to attach it to the window. The unit was out of stock and so I had to get a different portable unit. I wound up getting a less powerful Frigidaire. I am happy with the Frigidaire and believe the exhaust hose will be easier to replace/repair when necessary.

The Midea had a unique hose that will be expensive to replace. The Frigidaire has a standard 4″ flexible exhaust hose that will be much easier and less costly to replace. It may not be as powerful but the unit cools the rooms it is used in.

First off this unit is a bit pricier than other units but it shows. This unit surprisingly keeps my 1200sq single floor house under 70f and before getting it temps were hitting 80f+. The unit is super quiet and could definitely be in the same room as it while running and the dual house means it keeps the pressure equal in your house and not sucking in hot air from the creases and gaps in your house.

The only complaint I have is the hose is fairly short, I was only able to stretch the hose out to one window in my house and it definitely doesn’t like to be bent side to side.

1100 sqft home, big lovingroom window facing west. HOT all afternoon. We got this in combination with blackout blinds because it’s cheaper than a whole AC install. I dropped it off at home and needed to head out to work.

My wife installed it within a few hours. Got the house down from 29 degrees to 22 in about 2 hours. Very good unit even for keeping a full upstairs cooler.

Tripp-Lite is probably one of a handful of companies left in this world that stand behind their product. They backed their product with a 2 year warranty. When the original purchased Portable AC was having issues, Tripp-Lite’s Support Center moved very quickly in making certain that we were back up and running.

Within a couple of days, they had sent us a new unit, with excellent instructions, for returning the old unit to them. These units are the defense of any Server Room or Closet. We have purchased several AC Units for multiple server rooms in the construction industry for hospitals, retail, and multi-story commercial builds.

Tripp-Lite’s product is superior, and their staff is on top of their game!.

It’s a great little AC, I have it working on a small 5’x7′ server room and it’s got more than enough capacity for what i need. Being self-evaporative is awesome because I didn’t have any good way to push water out of my server room.

It is a little noisy even when not on a full blast cooling cycle because the fans appear to always run at all times, but then again this is made for server rooms where noise is not a factor. The flexibility of the exhaust and cool air pipes allow for some interesting setups.

But proper heat exhaust is a must because this little AC will produce a lot of it while running a full cooling cycle. All in all it appears to be a great unit so far. I’m only afraid of longevity because there are multiple accounts on the internet of it breaking early in its lifespan.

If the standard warranty was longer than 1 year it would probably put peoples minds more at ease. I know it would to me.

I bought this product to cool our old server room. It does have an option for a window unit or a split air. Went for this and it keeps our system running 24×7 for over 5 years. Recently bought a couple more as a back up unit.

I prefer this product that has a water outlet its more efficient and sturdier.

We researched at length to decide on this model. This ac installed just fine in a sliding window where a typical window unit doesn’t fit. Sized properly for the room, it cools well. The air intake can be adjusted to recirculate indoor air or to draw outdoor air in—if you’re not cooling it can serve as a fan.

This ac is quiet enough for the bedroom, and the remote has a number of features in addition to being handy. For example, you can set the ac to monitor the temperature at the remote, which makes it possible to achieve cooling where it matters most.

Then it can run based on that thermostat, which is more efficient (and easier) than repeatedly adjusting the temperature by feel.

I did a fairly in depth search for a new air conditioner when our old one started sounding like a jet air plane taking off. After calling the distributor he gave me advice on the size of A/C unit that I would need for my house.

This was important because I was able to get the correct one (I was going to order a bigger one) and it does a great job! I live in western Oregon where it can get humid at times. So far its been working great and is much quieter than the previous one in it’s prime.

I am very pleased with it and I also got a veteran discount which was a great. The customer service people were great and didn’t try to up sell me “just because” while making sure I got the right one for the job.

It was nice to get a vertical A/C unit that fit my type of windows as well. The directions were easy to follow with all the necessary parts included. I will definitely order from them again.

So far it cools very nicely. A couple quick notes and the reason It’s not getting five stars. First, I had to drill a drain hole as the unit was filling up with water. The manual says to make sure the drain plug is removed but I couldn’t find any drain plug.

Second, the install instructions are absolutely awful. They’re very vague and seem to have confusing names for all the parts. Be prepared to figure it out yourself.

Loud knocking noise when fan is still or in motion. Also, water shoots out like a geyser, ruined my carpet. Ended up returning! Awaiting refund!

Bought Chill Premier to replace 20 year old Friedrich 10k BTU window unit. I’ve bought 2 Chill Premiers, 18k BTU and 24k BTU, which work well for the large area they service. This 12k BTU is used in a bedroom with high ceilings.

I looked forward to cooling comfort and quiet operation. This delivered on the cooling, but air blowing noise proved intolerable. On the lowest fan setting, air blew through vents with a volume perhaps too great for the small vent openings.

Whether automated or manual setting, the rapid air movement creates a lot of noise. This is the Bernoulli Principle. Larger vents would allow same volume of air without the strong rush. I have been brand loyal, bought 5 Friedrichs recently.

This one is the most disappointing because of the noise. I thought other reviewers were exaggerating, but they weren’t. I replaced the 12k BTU with a highly rated competitor’s model which can run at high fan speed as well as very low and get cooling and comfort as I expected.

Can now see if the competitor’s brand lasts 20 years without a problem as did the Friedrich. I only buy models that have a removable outer case. It’s much easier to mount in a window without risk of dropping the unit.

Both Friedrich and the competitor offer this feature.

Purchased this new unit to replace older Friedrich wall/sleeve unit. Be sure to buy new Friedrich uni fit sleeve which does not come with new a/c as in the past. The new uni fit sleeve will fit the old sleeve rough opening dimensions but I had to add a 1/2 inch piece of cut plywood to the upper frame to fill in the slightly smaller height of the new sleeve.

The new sleeve and new ac comes with multiple foam strip options and the instructions are not helpful whatso ever and are very confusing. I called Friedrich techs twice for guidance and it is not easy to get through to them.

Bottom line is that the new uni fit sleeve can hold three different sizes of Friedrich ac and the largest BTU unit fits snug while the smaller BTU units must be centered inside sleeve with the seals placed around the new unit and inside the sleeve.

There is an architectural frame that comes with new ac and covers the gap between the sleeve and new ac however the inside moldings around the ac sleeve will have to be removed and new ones cut, installed and painted to allow the sleeve cover to be mounted flush.

The power cord CANNOT be routed to either side of new unit and exits from lower left side of unit. The original unit I purchased in 2007, (which still works!), required dedicated line, circuit breaker upgrade and heavy duty outlet.

The new unit can be used on existing line however you will need to install standard wall outlet and different size circuit breaker in main panel, requiring an electrician. Total cost was just under $1,000.

The new Friedrich Chill units are half the price of the uni-fit and come with new sleeve, however you will have to modify entire rough opening, removing siding on outside, adding sheathing, and adding sheetrock/ new paint on inside, so I chose the uni fit option to avoid that.

The new ac is 30% more efficient then what I replaced and is quiet and works extremely well. I have another Friedrich wall sleeve unit and will probably upgrade that as well with the uni fit system now that I am confident with the first installation of the one I purchased.

You can put a uni-fit in an older sleeve but I would advise against it as the new unit has to be sealed in a particular way that would be very complicated as opposed to the new sleeve I purchased, which is why the new unit comes with so many foam sealing options that are not ultimately needed.

Bottom line is that nothing is easy with this install so don’t plan on having it done in a hour or so which is what I thought it might take when I purchased this. You can purchase the KUHL model for several hundred dollars more than the uni-fit and that comes with new sleeve that fits exactly into old sleeve dimensions.

Overall, I’m satisfied with uni fit option I chose.

I was looking for a unit to cool our bedroom, approx. 400 sq. ft. Our old Friedrich lasted 27 yrs. which led me to favor a Friedrich. Also my wall opening was for a 10,000 BTU unit which fit the unit I purchased, the Kuhl 10,000 BTU size.

I purchased the Kuhl due to it’s more robust construction, and the ease of replacement. The unit does a super job of cooling before we go to bed. One half hour before our sleep time I turn it on High and it cools the room from 76 degrees to 68 degrees.

I then run it on Low and it maintains temp between 68 and 67. 5 degrees through out the night. With the low speed the noise level is slight and does not disturb our sleep. I have tried Medium speed, and it is nosier but not enough to bother us.

I found the run cycle is about 20 minutes every hour with low speed. The external temperature in Ct. is in the high seventies, at night. During daytime with temperatures in the mid 90’s the room stays cool at 70 degrees at medium speed.

Currently I am pleased with the performance, and hope for another 27 years. The only negative, I was told it is a sealed unit and if a leak occurs then discard the unit, there is no recharge capability, so I bought the extended warranty.

PC Richards did the delivery and installation and did a great job in a timely manner.

It seems to be the best of the “newer” models since the original GE was installed in 1993. It far exceeds the LG in quietness and power. Outside of central air, it seems to be working fine. We’ll know about the force of heat/expense when we receive the PSEG bill.

Bought one of these units and within 18 months it stopped cooling. Under warranty but dealing with the manufacture is a nightmare. They won’t ship out a new unit now. If you buy one, you’ve been warned!!.

We purchased the Fredrich PTAC after reading the reviews and considering the uses for the specific unit we needed. We currently have a wood stove as our primary heating source. The amount of work associated with this type of heating (carrying wood, cleaning the house constantly, the amount of dust produced and the air quality inside while burning wood,.

etc. )has become rather difficult and tedious for my wife (age 67) and me (age 60). We are hoping that the PTAC will suffice for us in the winter (North Central Kentucky) and the wood stove will become a back up on extremely cold days.

The AC has shown to be more than sufficient for our home (24 x 60 double wide). We have been able to shut down the 18,000 BTU window unit that we normally cool with. As the title said, So far So Good.

The only thing we don’t like is that the fan motor runs all the time.

We bought the Friedrich Premier AC Unit. My husband bought this AC unit last year. It barely worked for a couple months, filled with water and uncontrollably beeped and did its own thing. We’d turn it off and it would turn itself back on to keep turning on and off and uncontrollably beep.

and at times it wouldn’t let us turn it off. We were under warranty so had to take it to an inconvenient location where they took forever and gave it back with the same problems. and repeat. Fast forward to this summer because its supposedly fixed now.

We’ve used it maybe 10 times so far and only at night. It started doing the turn on and off and beeping again at 3am. The company states this AC unit will work for 10-20 years. which is just a pathetic joke.

I am currently 8 months pregnant and really don’t need our air conditioner, of maybe a years total use, to quit working. Again, we only use it mainly at night for a small room and it constantly wakes us up with beeping and turning off and on.

on its own. We aren’t using the money saver feature, which might stop the AC when it gets to a certain temp. I really wish we could have our money back. I highly recommend this company stop selling this piece of s**t as if it were an AC unit and I highly recommend not buying this.

PROS: • Good price. • Very light weight. Easy to carry to upper floors. • Simple assembly and installed in window in under 10 minutes. • Quiet as compared to the GE AHP06LZ I purchased 2 yrs ago for about the same price.

(I can sleep with it on low. ) CONS: (Just one) • The idea of the “Follow Me” function is nice, but in this remote it’s poorly implemented. It works as long as the remote can “see” the AC unit and is pointed at it.

An RF based remote, instead of this IR type wouldn’t have such limitations. Overall I’m very pleased with this purchased and would recommend it.

For the price, it’s been great. It came with everything to install it and the directions were pretty good. However it does feel cheap. The plastics are not high quality, don’t for together easily and the only difference between the energy star model and the non energy star model is 2 clips to hold the bottom more securely to the window frame and a piece of foam on the bottom to insulate better.

I was kind of disappointed. That being said, it has worked well. It keeps the room nice and cool and the energy save mode has been helpful. For the price, I am happy with it, but I had to stop at 4 stars because of the plastic issues.

I mean it’s quiet, Powerful, many features. Build quality seems top notch. Cools very well for 5000 unit. So good in fact I purchased the 8000btu model , (Sorry Best Buy but it came from Home Depot ) and I was even more impressed.

These are extremely well built, quiet , functional and powerful units. Not sold on the “follow me “remote setting though. It doesn’t really seem to work accurately. More of a gimmick I would say. But it’s not really needed on units this small.

I mean seriously. Maybe in a room that’s huge and for that you’re probably gonna want something more advanced.

We purchased this last Summer and were genuinely pleasantly surprised with this AC. It was used in a ~200 sq. ft. bedroom and vented out a sliding glass door. (The fact that this window kit fits a door is fantastic! Most others do not.

) We ran it mostly on Low/Medium Cool and the noise level was very acceptable. The compressor itself isn’t very loud. Very nice! It had no problem cooling the bedroom and might even handle a slightly larger space.

FWIW, we also run an overhead fan which definitely helps circulate air. We had never heard of this brand, but took a chance. Glad we did!.

I just got mine installed today. So far I’m happy, with one exception. The window kit was a BEAR to install. I chose this model because I have very tall windows, but the window kit was still about 5″ too long.

The instruction booklet says to cut it and shows an image with scissors. It took me scissors, box cutters, and a saw – and the scissors BROKE. The durable plastic is NOT easy to cut. So overall this is a great unit! But the window kit is a pain.

Someone with access to better tools and a workshop would probably have no issues.

This product came in handy this summer. All the ac were sold out at every store google searched this popped right on up. I was very scared to order but very happy i did shipping was amazingly fast came in three days.

My 160 sq ft home office is in the SW corner of our home and gets hotter than the rest of the house. I didn’t want to invest in a 2 system AC upgrade or split system. I just needed a small, quiet, unit that wouldn’t ruin the view out the office window (58″ high/47″ wide).

So far, the Soleus model WS3-06E-201 (6000 BTU) has fit the bill. Walmart delivered promptly, in just two days. Everything was in the box including a step-by-step installation guide. (Installation is not complicated but the guide is worth reading to get it right.

) The unit is heavy (about 65lbs) and balky – this is a 2-person installation. I wanted the unit just 4. 5″ from the left side of the window and 22. 5″ from the right side, which the flexible, plastic sliders accommodated.

(However, I will ultimately replace the sliders with more substantial wood spacers cut to size. ). Because the unit is “U” shaped, we didn’t feel like we were going to drop it while adjusting the support knobs that lean the unit against the outside wall.

Once installed, the unit takes away only 5 inches of our window space. No problem opening the window! (I will probably get a new bug screen made to accommodate the new unit. ) I have read other reviews where users complained of excess water dripping inside the room or the base pan quickly collecting water.

I have not had that problem at all but I know it is important to ensure that the unit is tilted down on the outside. I’m not sure if that is why I haven’t had the same problem or if it’s because we live in CA with minimal humidity and/or because I don’t need to run it in “Dry” (i.

e. dehumidifier) mode. I’d guestimate that this unit is 30% quieter than a standard window AC. To sum up, what I like most about this unit is 1) it’s comparatively quiet (especially in “Quiet” mode) and 2) it takes up very little of the window view.

It’s a great AC (with a couple notable exceptions) and the design of it is terrific. It makes the AC disappear, and you can still see out the window. I love that feature. It’s very quiet, it works, and I’m happy.

The negative is that the hardware that holds it in place is cheap and broke the first time I installed it. And also the plastic vent is cheap and broke the first time I tried to adjust it. I know those two issues sound huge, but I still am using it and the quietness and design makes this a winner.

I am going to buy a second unit for another room.

Just installed a few days ago, and its awesome! Super simple install, includes all mounting hardware and lots of foam to help seal up any openings between your window and the AC. Main reason for my purchase is because normal sized AC units dont fit into my window since my windows are short and wide.

I tried a portable AC unit, but that was very inefficient and noisy. This new one is perfect, slides easily on my window frame, is super quiet with the noisy part outside, and its great to still have most of my window to see out of! For an AC unit this thing is seriously quiet, on max settings it is comparable to the amount of noise a box fan makes on low!.

The AC is very noisy!!! I have earplugs on now so I will not go deaf. Even though 12000 btu and my rooms 505 total square feet it did not adequately cool the whole space. The fans runs all day. Maybe I got a bad one, but I will be returning it and trying another brand.

I was formerly employed in the HVAC industry, knowing more about central air. This product seems to be better than our original unit made by the brand “Sharp,” which utilizes an ionic cooling feature but doesn’t get cool enough for our preference.

The portable “Whynter” unit makes a big difference in the temperature of our home, at least for the rooms closest to it while in use. Great in conjunction with our other unit from another brand. Decent size.

Easy to assemble. Doesn’t really leak liquid or air through the unit’s connections. Easy to use remotely, though the remote isn’t always the most responsive. Love the oscillator (“swing option”). Definitely worth trying out with the current temps outside.

In the middle of the night, the breaker often flips, shutting down all our nighttime machines. We’ve hired an electrician to rewire the room with a 20 amp breaker with new wiring that can handle the extra load, but had I purchases a machine that pulls less amperage, that too would have fix the situation.

This is why I gave it 4 stars. If you have the power, the machine works extremely well.

I did purchase one a few years back from Costco, but that unit was so loud that we didn’t even use it and returned it as soon as it was delivered.

In any event, each year that we experience a heat wave of sorts, I always regret not getting an AC unit. With the recent fires which negatively impacted our air quality and the heat waves this year , I decided to take a plunge and researched thoroughly and decided on Whynter.

The set up seemed easy enough. While it doesn’t cool my entire house, it does keep a room cool. I’m so glad that I purchased it because we experienced a weltering heat wave on Labor Day weekend and I turned on the AC.

I never left my room, in fact, I had my daughter staying in the room since that was the coolest place to escape the hot temperatures in the house. I did catch it on sale so definitely worth the money! I would absolutely recommend this unit.

However, keep in mind that I just used it about 3 times and so far so good. The only negative thing is the fact that the remote that came with the unit didn’t work. So, I sent Whynter an email and they will be shipping me a new one.

That’s relatively minor in my mind. I just hope that we will be able to use it for years to come. Fingers crossed!.

I have a medium size bedroom. This product cools the space very well and is not noisy during the run. BUT, when the set temperature is reached, the device stops cooling, and it is very loud. This noise is disturbing and woke me up several times that I ended up returning the product.

I also did not like that when the temperature is reached, the device still keeps working and dehumidifying the air. This is bad for energy consumption and not desired for cities with dry weather. I also did not like that there is no digital display on the front face but at the top.

I have positioned the AC on top of a table so top display was not helping.

All the good things everyone posted in the reviews are true. Once everything was ready for setup it was a breeze! The unit is being used in a upstairs room the exceeds the suggested size room, and in just under 10 minutes the unit cooled down the room great.

As you know heat rises, and my thermostat downstairs was 84 and the unit displayed 88 when I first started to operate it. I would highly recommend this Honeywell portable ac unit, it is phenomenal!.

i was worried about constantly having to empty the water but have not had to once in 3 months. while it is not as good as the 10k window unit i used, our park has listed window units as not acceptable.

This unit is much more quite than the window unit was too. i will be buying another one next year as they let us use our window units one more year and i did in the back of our mobile home. love the quality : ).

This portable combination fan and cooler is a great addition to our home. For those that live in drier climates, the optional evaporative cooling feature allows you to direct cool air directly into an area without having to cool the entire home.

The unit is attractive and a nice size. It can be set to 3 different speeds, with and without evaporative cooling. The water reservoir is large enough that it doesn’t run out too quickly. There are different modes, including speed changes, timer, and “swing”, which blows the air in a random pattern.

It’s pretty quiet, too. Why didn’t we give it a 5? While minor, there were a few things that we think could be improved. Learning the different settings is a bit of a challenge, and isn’t entirely intuitive.

Fortunately, there is a guide that you can work through to understand what the different settings do. Secondly, to add water to the reservoir, there isn’t a door that you can flip open and pour water in.

You need to pull the drawer partially open, and pour water in that way. This is minor, but it would be better with the access door. Also, you need to be careful with a full reservoir when rolling the unit around as it can slosh water.

Overall, we think it’s a good value and allows you to spot cool and area, and the timer feature is handy (it can be set in 1/2 hour increments up to 7. 5 hours) for bedtime until the room cools down at night.

The unit is serviceable and looks like it will serve us well! We’ll come back and do another review in a year to let you know if our initial impressions hold up.

This proprietary invention is incredible! It creates a wind chill effect that feels even cooler on your skin than still air does. The enhanced oscillation and adjustable fan speeds cool any room quickly by pushing cool air from the pads to the farthest corner of your living area.

I usually keep it in my bedroom and love that it helps when the air feel stagnant. The results are great! Since it’s on wheels, it’s also easy to move to other parts of our home as needed. In summary, this product has been great! I just wish that I would have known about it sooner!.

Okay I will give a full review of this product. First, it is a wonderful fan. It blows in 3 speeds and is modern and stylish. Second, there is the feature to fill a compartment with cold water and frozen blocks.

The blocks that come with the unit are not adequate to chill down the air. I have larger reusable ice blocks that I used along with cold refrigerated water. If your ambient air temperature is not very hot then this fan and water cooled air could work for you.

If you are in a heat wave area like California the last 10 days then this does not work. The air is minimally cool and the water runs out quickly and the unit makes a very loud and annoying sucking sound.

I would have bought an actual air conditioner for just a bit more money as this unit is pricey for what it does. There was not a clear review like this about how it won’t work in hot temperatures. I would have sent this product back on day 2 and requested an exchange for another product on this website, but I threw the box away upon receiving it.

In the final review, it is a wonderful fan, and wonderful cooler if you just need to take the edge off of some warm temps. If you are in a hot area this is not the product to get, as it blows the hot air around even with ice water in the unit in temperatures in the high 80’s and above.

The unit fits my 48″ x 48″ slider window easily. I wish the blocking panel it comes with was taller; I have about 4 more inches I had to figure out a solution for in order to fully block the empty space above the unit.

The temperature is 3 degrees off (too high), but otherwise it cools fine, is quieter than my portable unit, and shuts off completely when the temperature is reached. The instructions for installation are very poor – gives no indication of how to use most of the assorted screws in the bag of hardware or even which ones for which step.

My window frame has a higher set of ledges on the outside than they were expecting, so I didn’t use the included mounting bracket. I instead built a wood frame for it to sit on (properly sloped). It was much harder and took longer to set up than your average window unit.

A few other concerns – the row of slots in the side of the unit for air intake (outside) are big, like a half inch wide. I am expecting to get a ton of wasp nests getting built in there, but I’m afraid to put a screen and potentially block the air intake.

It doesn’t drain well – I see no actual way for condensation water to exit the unit outside. It pools up about a half inch deep inside the back half of the unit. As a result, the water gets into the channel where the exhaust fan runs, and the fan throws water all over the inside (and some back on my window outside the building).

The drag of going through the water also makes the fan make a little bit more noise than when it’s dry. I hope this doesn’t shorten the life of the unit.

Bought this AC as it was reasonably priced option for my sliding window. I wish I did not do that and opted for something else. With in couple of minutes of starting the AC I have heard a noise and saw a floating piece inside.

Quickly turned it off only to find our that the flimsy foam/plastic covering the outlet vent is broken and I can see the power supply on top of it coming out. I am not why its designed like this aka to a heavy power supply on top of such light material.

Anyways called Home depot customer care and opened a ticket. Not sure what is going to be the outcome but for sure I wont recommend this to anyone.

Works as described and fairly easy to install but highly recommend 2 people for installation. I have used portable air conditioners and generally speaking it is quieter than those but still louder than expected.

Although it is louder than I was hoping for, when it switches from air conditioner to fan to maintain the temperature, it is a lot quieter than a portable air conditioner. I am easily able to sleep with this in the room compared to the portable counterpart.

I bought an 8000 btu window conditioner around the same time and that one is a different brand and much quieter than this model but I don’t know if that is due to less btu’s. Overall better than a portable, cools way better but it could be quieter.
