I feel as though I got what I paid for since I needed a 2 hitch receiver for my Sienna. I thought I was getting a Curt brand receiver and it even came in a Curt box and the hitch receiver was U-haul brand.

Personally, I dont care since it was black and fits my van great and gets the job done. But clearly the Curt product was switched for a U-haul, hence the three star review. The U-Haul product does work well and is secure to get the job done.

Got 5his to mount a snowplow on my 2016 JKU(haven’t got the plow yet). The instructions are very basic, but it’s literally 6 bolts. The toughest part is fishing the wires through for the bolts. Getting it on was a pain by myself so you might want a friends hands to help.

I had to pound it on but it’s solid steel so you won’t hurt it. Overall I was happy with the purchase.

I ordered the Curt Class III hitch for my ’02 Sienna. It arrived quickly and was packaged well. Installation instructions were simple and clear. Just dropped the spare tire and released the muffler from its rear hanger, and with four bolts the hitch was installed.

I really like how the hitch tucks up under the rear bumper with only the receiver visible. The hitch is well-made and beefy. I will be using it mainly to mount a 5-bike hitch rack but will likely find other uses too.

I would recommend.

The quality of the hitch itself is very good. Plan on spending time to resize the shims that have to go inside the frame. Mine were too big and it took serious grinding to get them to slide inside the access holes.

Be very careful with the “fish wires”. It takes considerable patients get the bolts and shims in the proper position to pull them through the frame holes. If you lose the shim and bolts inside the frame there is no way to retrieve them.

Even the bolt heads were too large to go through the access holes. Be prepared to spend a few hours to install the hitch.

Hitch was as advertised. Price changed from $145. 00 to 169. 00. Evidently promotion expired. It was still a great deal with free shipping parnell was my phone assistant. He was great he looked for a lower price even other hitches of similar quality.

He changed my delivery address so I could receive my hitch faster. The hitch was complete and was easy to install. You need a 210 flbs torque wrench. On line install video was a great help. I recommend summit and the curt class 4 hitch.

Very well built. Not really worth a negative rating but the instructions are atrocious. Black and white, small photos and horribly blown out. Text is poorly worded. Better upclose photos in color OR computer graphics would be a lot better.

Use Curt’s website instead for instructions. Sorting through all that added quite a bit of time.

This is a great looking hitch that arrived super fast. Auto anything has great shipping. Hitch has thick metal with a quality black paint coating. Curt appears to have thought of almost everything including a post for reattaching the muffler to avoid clearance issues.

Surprised they didn’t include mounting holes for wiring harness bracket for OEM harness. The only problem was that I could not get all the bolt holes to align with the frame. Spent 2 hours and still no dice.

This is a high quality hitch with high quality components (hardware bag) and a very nice powder-coat paint job. [. ]I always expect a little problem solving when starting a job like this, but not like what I encountered.

Bad news is, like the other reviewer thus far, this hitch is apparently not wide enough for it’s intended application (2007 Honda Ridgeline) unless it was bent 3/4″ – 1″ inward during transit. While that may be the case, the box was not damaged and the condition/gage of the steel suggests it was pristine.

The stamped mounting holes didn’t come close to lining up and I had nothing big enough to bend out the hitch arms, so I attempted to install it with the best stuff I had. Installed one side, then used a large C-clamp (a pry bar would not have worked because there’s really nothing to wedge it against) to draw the hitch to closer alignment on the frame and after about 2 hours was able to “coax” it into place.

But not before stripping one of the M12 hex bolts, which caused the hidden weld nut inside the truck’s frame tube to break loose. The vertical bumper beam plate bolt slots are off lateral center by a good 3/16″-1/4″ and there’s now no way to get it centered without droping it and sledging out the sides or trying to widen the holes with a cutter, grinder or extremely large drill bit.

So now, I’m headed to a welder to finish the job. This is a nice hitch but unless you have a strong helper, better than average “forcing” tools, and a lot of patience, expect more than 30 minutes of installation time (no, the truck’s never been hit).

Don’t force the bolts or expect them to “pull” the hitch into position. You may end up breaking off the weld nuts inside the frame and heading out to your favorite welder. I’m a repeat Curt customer – have been very happy with their products in the past.

Once it’s mounted properly I’m sure it will do its job. Bottom line – This one’s too close for comfort.

Went on like a champ, 40 minutes. Watched YouTube videos for hitch and wiring harness and that really helped. Practicing on the wiring kit plugs also helped with disconnection of original equipment. I ended up buying a 2-inch longer rubber exhaust system hanger (O’Reillys) to allow reconnection of muffler to original point on the truck and lower the muffler enough to avoid rattling on new hitch.

20 mm socket required to torque the frame bolts. Watching YouTube & wiring took another hour.

Overall easy install with all hardware needed. Take care to torque bolts per instructions as the beveled round washers need to flatten out prior to achieving the recommended torque. What seems tight enough by hand is not sufficient.

Only down side is that you lose the attachment point for the emergency row strap mount. I wish that was incorporated into the hitch frame. Curt Hitchens are top notch in my current and prior appkications.

Got the hitch to use with my hr 14000z 4 bike rack, performs well. The bike weighs about 80 lbs. I am automotive technician and had access to a hoist, so made the installation easier, it took me about 35 minutes to install it.

I did have to cut out a small portion of bottom cover on left side of the hitch because it was hitting.

Great hitch (from what I see) have not used yet. But why not make it PERFECT? Install a bracket for the wiring plug, anything is better than nothing! And in the case of the BMW X-5, the tow hooks are gone!!?? Tell us at least, what are we supposed to do if you needed to be rear lifted? Just use the chain loops? Are they strong enough? You see.

A tow operator and the owner, might be in for quite a surprise when the tow operator asks. ” Ok. what am I missing here?” “where are the tow?.

Ordered on a Sunday, said would be here in 5 to 7 days. it came in 2 days! super easy installation! had an issue with my 2004 saturn vue. the welded nuts inside the fame were to rusted to accept the supplied bolts.

had to take the rear bumper off and cut the welded nuts off the frame and added nuts from the hardware store. hitch fits perfectly and looks great!.

I’m 66 yrs. old and by far this was the easiest and fastest trailer hitch install I have ever done by my self. Well designed for super easy install of this quality built class 3 hitch. Highly recommend this Curt hitch and I give it a five star rating.

I was very surprised to find that I had to bend the side bars in order to get the hitch to fit. When I sent an e mail to the manufacturer they said this is common and go ahead and bend it to fit. It was not easy to bend especially as a do it your selfer I have bought several of these type hitches from Hidden Hitch and and never have had to bend anything to make it fit.

This was not an easy job at all. The exhaust system had 3 connections points that had to be taken off to drop the muffler to have access to mounting the hitch. Drilling the hole was okay and feeding the lugs, washers and nuts was okay.

The heat shield was a real problem as I cut it as shown in Utube videos but it was not enough and the shield was blocking one of the attachment bolts, so snip, snip and I got it in place. The rubber straps to reattach the exhaust system (3) were totally difficult to do especially the two on the muffler.

The tail pipe was okay. I had to lube the rubber fasteners and stretch the hell out of them to reattach. Finally got it. Looks great, works great. Oh year I was NOT on a life but on the ground.

I love this hitch. I was lucky that all the holes on my frame were pre-drilled and made the job very easy. The instructions were really faded so I couldn’t really use them, but I printed out my own from their website and everything went really smoothly.

Only took about an hour and could have done it quicker if I had an impact wrench to take out the old rusted bolts. I was also really lucky that my full size tire still fits up under the bed of the truck.

Just a note, I only had to take one bolt off the frame so the bumper stayed in place for me. The side bumper braces I had to take off so I could get to the bolts, but it was no problem putting them back on.

Arrived in a box – nice! Hitch had one pretty good scratch on it – no worries, touched it up right away with some Rustoleum. Install kit was intact – that’s the main problem I’ve seen with these. Watched a video on YouTube for installing a U-haul hitch (looks exactly like the Draw Tite) on my 2017 Honda CR-V, and was spot on.

Took the gal in the video about 15 mins, took me 2 hrs, but hey, I’m an amateur, don’t have a lift, used jack stands, and was operating upside down under the back of the vehicle the whole time. There’s like 6 steps involved in the install, and each has its “Challenges”.

Overall, a pretty easy install and now we’re set to haul bicycles around!.

The Acura MDX and Honda Pilot take the same hitch. There’s a spare tire/wheel underthe back cargo deck that the hitch has to fit around. The exact hitch is required to fit perfectly. This hitch was installed at a Firestone shop in about thirty minutes.

Perfect fit. Downloaded instructions showed complete details including the lowering of spare wheel/tire for ease of install. This Drawtite hitch is installed with all correct torque values needed. I do recommend a pro install but cost was very minimal.

Perfect fit for a 2019 Honda Pilot. The holes line up as they should and it fits in place without having to lower the spare tire. Yes, the OEM has better fit and form, this one looks great and works as a receiver should.

Fits perfect and look great. Lift up and slip into the rear bumper before bolting.

I had bought a hitch at Wal-Mart for about 50 dollars less than the Curt hitch; but when I opened the box it was about 6 pieces that needed to be bolted together and I also needed to drill holes in the Van’s chassis.

I ordered the Curt and returned the one from Wal-mart although a bit apprehensive about the shipping. Well, much to my surprize it arrived in 3 days and I installed it in 20 minutes with no problems and no drilling.

Great product, Great service, I would recommend this hitch to anyone even if you are not mechanically inclined. P. S. the local shop was charging me $380. 00 to install a hitch with a rated capacity 1/2 of the one I got from you guys.

Purchased 12/14/15 it arrived on 12/16, installed in about an hour on a 2015 Silverado 2500 HD. I have installed about a dozen hitches on various vehicles. This was the easiest to install. It is heavy, you will need a helper for a few minutes to loose fit the frame bolts.

Lower the spare as suggested and you will have no problems.

I purchase the Curt Receiver Hitch for 95 chevy express 3500. Fits perfect, comes everything for installation. no need to make holes or any additional works needed. I installed myself alone and took me about half hour.

it would be easier if someone help me out cause it was heavy.

Love this product! I would advise on the installation to remove the rear bumper as this will stop the need to drill a hole in your plastic bumper (I wasn’t going to do this to my new 2021 Gladiator) The bumper is easy to remove only 6 bolts and 2 wiring harnesses, this leaves you with a much cleaner look!! Love how simple the setup is only 2 bolts and nuts with the 1 main screw.

Definitely use lock tight to really feel secure. Overall it’s early days but save yourself some $$$ and get this product install yourself only takes 1 hour or so and your all done and ready for towing, water sports and all trailer/hitch needs.

The item came on time packaged very well. When I purchased my new Jeep Gladiator it didn’t come with a trailer hitch but was already wired fir a trailer. So instead of buying a Jeep brand I went with this one which was cheaper.

I will say I did not like drilling through my plastics in the bumper to install, but I did purchase a rubber tread plate to stick over the top of it. Installation wasnt bad at all and once installed and torqued to spec.

It looked good and I was very happy with the product!.

Fit perfect and works great. It wasn’t hard to I stall at all I looked online but was scared I would order wrong one and it wouldn’t fit. But ordered from a friend that works with extreme entertain and she knew exactly what would work.

I just installed the hitch on my Nissan Xterra. The instructions were clear and straightforward. The hitch seems very well constructed. I had a little trouble getting the bolts one side to line up, but I’m pretty sure that has to do with my 18 year old car being a bit banged up, rather than a defect with the product.

A slight “adjustment” to the rear bumper did the trick.

Very nice great quality hitch and accessories. The installation time is roughly 2 hours under good circumstances, I took me 3 hours because I had trouble with removing the spare tire and exhaust bracket.

But overall, it’s nice to have. You will have to lower the spare tire and loosen the exhaust bracket.

Auto anything is great they had it in stock and it shipped right away(and on the weekend of the fourth of July), other places that I shopped around at had it back ordered for two months! Installation was simple with two people, I didn’t even have to even detach the exhaust pipe, just dropped the spare my dad set up the passenger side then I linded up the driver side dropped the bolts and it went up one two three.

The only thing I did was put a spacer for the rear exhaust pipe clamp so that it didn’t touch the hitch and you wouldn’t hear any clanging. Also the hitch is going to touch the rear spare tire(like most hitches) and when pressure is applied to the hitch it totally clears the rear tension bar in front of where the spare tire sits.

Would buy the product again and again and would also buy from auto anything in a heart beat. BTW thanks for the free fusion mount!!!.

My wife wanted a nice bike rack for the back of our X3. I found a 2-bike Thule on Craigslist, slightly used. So now to find a hitch. Many options exist, but I’d rather spend a little more for a lot better.

For the most part, I don’t trust reviews very much, unless there are MANY, MANY that consistently say the same thing. Also, I asked a couple reputable independent BMW shops. Their first choice was BMW, but the dealer’s quote was 5 times more expensive.

Yeah, I’ll spend a more, but this is only holding bikes, not towing a boat. The shops both said Curt was a solid aftermarket hitch that they installed on X3s and X5s, and that they would recommend it.

I shopped on Amazon and found SuspensionConnection, their price was reasonable, so I ordered it. It came via UPS 3 days later. No problems, no damage. There are a few videos on line regarding installation.

If you are a DYI’er like me, watch ALL the videos you can at least twice, become familiar with their tutorials, because each as a little more than the others. Unfortunately, the videos are lacking in some information, specifically, how to put things back together.

There is the wheel flap that is partially unbuttoned with sheet metal screws, then the bumper cover screws in the wheel well corners. A few more screws and the bumper cover is unfastened, but removing it is a bit of a challenge.

The bumper cover is PLASTIC and is painted to match the car color. There are plastic retaining clasps that hold onto the existing body, in my case I have the proximity sensors, so I had to disconnect 4 electrical connections.

You have to carefully muscle I this off. Difficulty for me was about 5 of 10; not easy, not really hard. Make sure you protect the painted surface to not scratch the paint job. With the cover off, removing the stock bumper structure and installing the Curt hitch was simple and easy.

One video mentions that they used the old BMW hardware nuts to fasten the hitch. As a mechanical engineer, I disagree; the nuts have already been stressed and should be discarded. Use the new nuts provided in the Curt package.

Torque to the proper amount using a torque wrench. The COOL way to do the torque is in 1/3 increments, meaning if the final torque is 75 Lb-Ft, then torque to 25, then 50 and finally 75 in a cross-pattern.

Do this dry, without lube or lock-tite. If you insist on using thread locking fluid, be advised, you need to reduce the torque to compensate the the reduced friction or risk stripping the threads. Usually the torque is reduced by 40% if using grease, and 30% for lock-tite.

(REALlY!!). Next was cutting a notch to clear the hitch receiver. I used some masking tape, off-white, and a large Sharpie marker with the dimensions according to the instruction sheet. I intentionally went a bit smaller knowing I could always remove more later, but of you cut too much out you’re stuck with the mistake.

Afterward, I did remove a little more. My cutting tool was a long hole saw for rough cutting. Final trimming was a pocket knife of the jagged sawed edges. Now the HARD part — getting everything back together.

Yeah, the part that the VIDEOs fail to instruct you on. Some web sites list the difficulty on this job as 10 of 10, or very difficult to the point that they recommend a professional mechanic perform this task.

Reinstalling the bumper cover is the hard part of this job. HINT: I used Dawn dishwashing detergent (the BLUE stuff that comes in a bottle). A few ounces with water in a spray bottle. This was the re-assembly lubricant.

I sprayed the joints liberally and went to work reinstalling it. The first side got aligned and just SNAPPED into place. The opposite side was more of a challenge. It took me 20-30 minutes to properly align, check that everything was right and tried to push and hopefully snap this side in as easily as the first.

I finally hit the cover with an open hand like a hard slap. 4-5 slaps and it went in. Final screws where ever they needed to be, and the job is DONE. It fits properly, looks like it’s stock from the factory and holds the bike rack perfectly.

The Curt receiver hitch for a BMW x3 is an excellent exceptionally solid hitch, Class 3,that bolts into the frame where the BMW’s bumper (underneath the plastic cover) bolts. It is a perfect fit, no drilling, no adjustments needed.

Just cut edge of bumper. The Class 3 hitch is over-kill, but it is a better hitch than a Class 2 hitch, costs the same, and is much better quality than the Valley, Hidden Hitch, etc. Also better than the hitch that the dealership will install — for $1500.

However, to install the hitch, you have to remove the entire plastic bumper. That is not something you really want to do yourself, given the number of clips that you can break in the process. For a professional, this installation takes abou 4 hours.

For an amateur, the 3 hour estimate provided by Curt is a joke. Buy it yourself, to save $150, and have a pro install it. A “pro” means a professional hitch place that only installs hitches, not U-Haul.

Finally, if you do install this hitch, the BMW steel rear bumper beam inside the plastic bumper needs to be removed. No big deal — the hitch cross-piece bolts in place of it, and is thicker steel, and much stronger than the BMW interior steel bumper.

But if you are leasing the vehice, they will charge you if you do not replace it, and may also charge you for the plastic rear bumper, which will have a hole cut in it.

It would be wise to read the instructions before you start. Silicone spray helped to get the muffler’s rubber isolator off. I used masking tape to outline the under body panel hole location, then cut the hole with a utility knife.

I suggest cutting the hole a little small initially, then trim for a good fit. The hitch fit perfectly, all the holes lined up. The hardware is complete and good quality. Without any help, this installation took me a couple of hours.

This hitch is strong and looks great!.

As everyone does, I waited till 2 days before long weekend to figure out I needed a trailer hitch on my new Jeep. After calling and getting shot done left and right I stumbled upon AutoAnything. They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly well priced.

They offered me to get it overnighted and it was effortlessly flawless from start to finish. I didnt nor did my family rides our bikes so much as even once, but, they were with us cause of your companys professional staff.

Has a few chips in its paint that I’m sure will cause rust issues down the line. For the price and amount of time I had for needing to use this hitch I didn’t have a choice but to keep it. The box wasn’t damaged so it’s from the warehouse while boxed.

Over all it’s a solid hitch and very easy to install. Torque wrench is a must to make sure you secure nuts properly. I use it mostly for a bike rack to haul 4 mountain bikes. Beats having the dealer install a hitch for $800.

Suspension Connection makes a tremendous product. Fit like a glove. Easy to install and looks perfect (factory fit). Highly recommend them! Took me 20 minutes to install alone with minimal tools. 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

My friend has a hitch made by curt for his Honda CRV, and I liked how it looked on his vehicle. I did some research, read several of the online reviews and decided to go for it. I mounted the hitch in about 15minures using hand tools.

The rear howls in the hitch are cleverly designed so that the hitch can be mounted with ease, it will basically center the hitch on the vehicle automatically. After its mounted there is barely any exposure, so you cannot hit your knees on it while your loading.

When I received this trailer hitch I was very pleased with the quality and finish. When I went to install it, the brackets did not line up. I ordered the correct one for my vehicle, I double-checked.

Two of the four bolts were about 2 centimeters from lining up with the holes. I used a grinder and made it work rather than sending it back but was still not pleased about this.

I purchased a hitch from a national trailer/truck rental 2 1/2 years ago. After some rough paved roads, the hitch bent downward about 20 degrees. The company refused to warranty it even though the trailer was 1500 pounds and the hitch was rated 4000.

I will not rent the orange trucks in the future. J C Whitney had a good price, 10% discount and free shipping and lifetime warranty, so I purchased a Curt 13552 the Thursday before Thanksgiving hoping it would arrive before the holiday in case we went camping.

It was on my doorstep Saturday morning. 36 hours for a 50 pound oversize package. I later found out the Curt warehouse was 5 miles away, but very quick none the less. Upon opening it, I cut my hand the first time I grabbed it.

It had a gouge in it and also the paint was worn off of the ends. The ends had no protection, just loose in the box. A little bubble wrap would help. I filed smooth the gouge and found some black spray paint to touch up the ends.

It took 30 minutes to remove the old hitch and mount the new one using the old hardware. I fastened one side loosely, then used a floor jack to raise the hitch and mount the other side. I used a block of wood and a rubber mallet to tap it into position so the holes lined up.

The instructions say to lower the exhaust, but you really only need to remove the rubber hanger on the muffler and the hitch will slide up over it. With two people it would have been a breeze, but I was able to do it myself since I had done it once before.

Looks good, almost hidden when not in use. I would have given it 5 stars but for the lack of protection in packaging.

Received it, and was surprised that it was actually less cumbersome than I expected. Was equally surprised that the box was still in one piece. Looked inside to see the hitch wrapped in bubble wrap and all parts included, including spares.

Unpackaged, set it under my truck. Lifted each side up on an apple crate, so it was 8″ off the floor and ~4″ from the frame of the truck. Lined up the bolts and installed it myself, no helper, in less than ten minutes.

Four bolts, all of them fit perfectly with the pre-drilled holes in the frame. Took me longer to drag the box to the garage than to install the hitch. Would buy again.

I got this for my son for his birthday, he absolutely loved it. Said it took maybe 10/15 minutes to install. And fit his van perfect. He is very impressed. Thanks so much he will be using it a lot this year to tow his boat in the summer and his snow mobile in the winter.

The hitch was easy to install. It looks great on the van. The only negative comment I would make and I may have missed this is that you need a torque wrench to make sure it is properly tightened. I have one so it was not an issue.

As I was installing, I saw in the instructions that it needed to be tightened to I believe 110 ft lbs. The hitch arrived when they said it would and was as easy to install as others had stated.

The hitch arrived within a couple of days of my order. It is well built and allows access to the spare tire. The installation couldn’t have been easier. It was installed within 25 minutes despite my lacking the correct deep well socket.

I had to use a shallow socket which cost me 5-10 minutes of work. Bottom line. Solid hitch and simple install. I recommend it.

Purchased this hitch receiver for my 2021 Ram 1500 Bighorn with the Class III Bumper Hitch. I didn’t realize you needed a separate hitch receiver to make it functional. It was definitely a cost savings instead of purchasing the full trailer hitch unit.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have a 1/2” hex driver to start the install, so I had to visit a local auto parts store. Installation was easy, took about 30 minutes, torqued the bottom bolts to the recommended ft lbs, but the top bolt (350 ft lbs) exceeded my torque wrench capability, so I cranked it as hard as I could with the leverage I had.

Overall, I’m really happy with the product.

I work at sheet metal fab shop, so all the components and the construction of the part are solid especially for the price, it looks really good on the truck it is nice and tucked up to the bumber, but the install is my only gripe on the install some of the holes didn’t line up and it made it difficult to get the bolts to tighten down.

The holes that didn’t line up were the ones that are located on the frame, where they supply the hardware to bolt to the frame not so much where the existing hardware is located on the frame. It also could of possibly that mine just pulled a little extra when they were in the welding proccess making it a pain for me to install, overall I am happy with it, just letting people know its not impossible but might be difficult.

This is the 3rd Curt trailer hitch I have purchased. And it is a very high quality hitch like the first two. Installation was as easy as can be expected. It is well designed for the intended purpose.

The only issue I have is that the cross bar is visible from behind the Sedona. It’s the same with other manufacturers but I’m slightly disappointed because the crossbar on the Curt hitch on my Chrysler Town & Country is hidden behind the bumper for a cleaner look.

Otherwise very pleased.

The item is a real piece of art. Fit very well my Kia Sedona 2016. Not too much effort. I was under the impression it was going to be smaller. Is big and weights about 50 pounds. But looks very good and there is no effect other than the extra weight on the vehicle.

Is going to be another 40 bucks yearly in gas to have it there. But I am very happy with it. Good construction, good appearance It does the job perfectly ok. Looks like factory install.

Even for me at age 77, it was simple to install The hitch without jacking up the van. The 6 attachment points aligned perfectly with the Sedona factory bolt holes. It only took about 1/2 hour to complete the installation.

The instructions were easy to follow but I don’t know why they said to discard the plastic dust cover on the driver’s side. I used a pair of scissors to cut a slit in it to fit around the hitch bracket and reinstalled it.

No complaints. Fits perfectly on 2010 Honda CR-V. No drilling required. Used WD-40 in frame mount points to clear rust and debris (Florida car). Did have to lower muffler by slipping two rubber hangers off of top mount points.

No big deal after spraying with WD-40. Note that the hitch is expectedly heavy. I used a helper (wife) and an 8-foot 2X4 to lever the hitch into place.

Trailer hitch went on very easy. No modifications to car or hitch (Use one guy to hold while you bolt it in place. ) Electrical harness plugged in right where the instructions said it would. I have been using this system for over three years now with no complaints at all! JCG.

For starters, after FedEx delivered, there were large holes in the box and one of the hitch mounting areas was sticking out of the box. I am glad that CURT tapes the hardware to the hitch, or it probably would have been gone.

I installed this on a 7 year old CRV. The instruction stated that the threaded nuts in the frame might be rusty and it would take some effort to get them ready to accept the bolts. That was an understatement.

it took about an hour to get all the hole able to thread the bolts into. If I had a large metric tap, it would have taken much less time. When trying to get the hitch in place, the holes would not line up.

I finally got one side started, then needed to use a pry bar to stretch the hitch to reach the other holes. I think it may have been damaged in shipping, but I am not sure. After I got the bolts all started it finally went in fine and works well.

It did take me about 3 hours in total to get it in.

Great hitch. I used to haul a 3k pound trailer across 600 miles without any problems. I bought a hitch specific to a Subaru Outback, and it required some slight modifications of a heat shield and drilling four holes in the frame rail.

Not bad, but just a tad bit more work than just a regular bolt-on. If you are not experienced drilling metal, working underneath a car, using a torque wrench, it’s best to leave this job to a mechanic.

Hi guys, the youtube video is great and it was easier than I thought. I did it by myself without anyone assisting. TIPs: 1) For having the hitch at the right height while fishing the bolts, place the hitch over a toolbox over a 5 gal.

plastic bucket. That’s almost the exact height to get the bolts and nuts in proper place through the hitch. Once you tighten the first one a little, the second bolt is easier to install. 2) Paint the holes you drilled to avoid rust.

This saved me literally thousands. My Jeep TJ broke down a few hundreds of miles from home. Had it towed via wrecker to a local mechanic whom the tow truck driver recommended. He tried to seek me an entirely new engine($6500).

I politely declined. I got my Jeep towed back home to a trusted mechanic with this tow bar. For under $700 my mechanic had the ol TJ running good as new. The tow home was going to be over a grand. This tow bar and a couple of tanks of gas was a lot cheaper.

Pulled smoothly and hitched up nicely once the brackets were put on. I look forward to taking the jeep along with us on vacations in the future, in tow.

I used this tow bar to pull a F150 with a Chev 1500 from St Louis to Houston. It worked well. I had to remove the bumper from the F150 and drill some holes on the plates to place the connectors, also, I disconnected the driveshaft from the rear differential, but it pulled the f150 very well and held up like a charm at 60-70 mph for about 800+ miles.

Now the only issue is to replace the bumper and remove the connectors, yes I replaced the driveshaft on the rear differential. I highly recommend this item over a tow dolly or trailer. If you have all the tools and chains, etc then it is a great option over the tow dolly and trailer for a quarter of the cost.
