20 Best Toy For Newborn (2022 Updated)

This sweet toy is the perfect lovey for a baby to learn to self-soothe with. Our oldest loved to stare at it as a baby. It became his favorite toy and he couldn’t sleep without it. Now he’s 7 and still sleeps with it! We are on our 3rd baby Whoozit and our next 3 kids have loved theirs as well.

Our oldest has had some anxiety issues since day one and was a very colicky baby; when he had his Whoozit, affectionately dubbed his “friend,” he was happy and felt secure. We recommend it to everyone and we have for over 7 years.

Bang on for a five month old. Can see this still being a cherished object in a year’s time, perhaps later. Lots of fun, also soft and comforting. Little noises, nothing to distress a tired parent. Reassuringly ‘educational’.

If that’s your intention. Cry your eyes out, Fisher Price.

Pillow was too small for my son and not enough cushioning. It didn’t help him sit up or with tummy time. He was 16 lbs when we got it and it was still too little. The toys fall off really easy, and now he plays with them.

Took him a while to get okay with the singing toy, probably because that woman’s voice is probably the worst we’ve ever heard. and we heard a lot of kids toys.

I’ve had this for a couple of months now. My boy didn’t really like using it at the start, as he hated tummy time. Then started to love listening to the music and see it light up. I believe this toy helped my boy so much with his head control.

And now that he doesn’t need it, I have detached the giraffe from the toys. My boy still loves pressing the buttons and listening to the music as we sing the songs. And seeing himself in the hipo mirror.

Overall, highly recommend.

This is a great toy for tummy time for any infant and continues to grow with them with detachable toys. My 2 month old granddaughter has started tummy time and it grabs her attention immediately. I also got one for my 4 yo grandson when he was a baby.

He also enjoyed it immensely.

My son loves this toy, we got it when he was about 11 weeks old and it’s the first toy he actually wanted to interact and play with. We’ve had it about a month now and he still loves it. It’s great value for the money, I love that it makes noise when he touches it but it isn’t super annoying or loud.

Would make a great gift.

My 4 month old soon loves this toy! It has a teething leaf he can bite on and he loves the rattle and rings. It’s long enough that he can reach the attachments. A lot of the other activity toys are too short for him to reach when attached to the car seat or don’t have as many toys.

The Sticky Spinner toy really is a great way to have your baby work on their hand eye coordination through play. It’s soft & squishy making it great for teething. The bright colors and light rattling noise when spinning keeps your baby entertained.

My 12 month old absolutely loves this. It dances and moves along the hard floor. It’s so much better than I expected.

And all I got was this stupid piece of plastic. It is uber dumb and uber boring. My grandson loves spinning things and he barely acknowledges this thing. Pumping the top is about like pushing a button, in fact they ought to just stick a button on this to push like every other brainless boring flashing-lights-and-noise toy out there.

They used to make a pump top that was large enough and appropriate for toddlers who couldn’t balance a regular top – this thing isn’t even close. The thing about tops is THEY SPIN – this does not spin.

Junk inside it spins. So what?.

The music part broke on ours like others that have posted reviews but DON’T GIVE UP ON THIS TOY its worth it even w/o the music! I know how frustrating it can be when you buy a toy and soon after the music and/or lights no longer work but I need to tell you this toy has so much more love left to give long after the music fades.

There is something about that big sunny smile that babies love. I kept ours even though the music doesn’t work; have it face down at the top of the activity gym. We’ve used it in the car as well. When the baby looks up and sees that smiling sun the joy you see is so pure and warm.

This was a gift to neighbours for the entertainment of their baby. Their report is that he is fascinated by it, reaches out to it frequently whether in the cot or the pram, and clutches it against himself when going to sleep.

No wonder! Flashing lights AND music. Who could ask for more?.

This toy is one of our prize possessions. Whenever my daughter is upset or fussy, we pull this toy out and she instantly stops crying and is happy again. I can hang it on her car seat (she hates getting into her car seat) or it can be held.

This toy is so entertaining for my 8 month old baby! He’s had this toy for a few months now and I think he actually likes being in his car seat because of this toy. He gets so excited when we get into the truck and goes straight for his toy before I can even buckle him up completely! The light is cute, not too bright.

Music is audible but not annoyingly loud. The sounds and the entertainment this toy gives baby is surprising but wonderful. I highly recommend this product!!.

To be honest, this was a last minute purchase that I hadn’t researched first or planned on making. We were at the store and baby was starting to have a melt down so I showed him this toy just to buy myself a few more minutes.

He seemed to really like it. The price wasn’t bad, so I ended up buying it. One of the best purchases ever! He liked it so much I had it attached to the handle of his car seat before we left the store.

Car rides with just the two of us can go either way (fussy and crying or passed out), but having this to keep him entertained made a huge difference! Also, putting him in the car seat used to be a challenge because he used to try to wiggle his way back out.

Now he gets distracted by this and instantly starts playing with it as soon as I pull the handle over. Makes buckling him up soo much easier! Since it’s always attached to his car seat, it goes with him everywhere- car rides, shopping, dining out, etc.

We’ve had this for almost 3 months now, and I’m surprised he hasn’t grown bored with it yet. I love how much he loves this thing. I tell my husband all the time how glad I am that I bought this! The only thing is.

We bought it to entertain our baby on car rides but it’s unsafe. It’s a velcro strap to attach it to car seat and if it’s too short for your car seat it will unsnap on it’s own. It unsnapped twice. Luckily it didn’t hit my baby.

I immediately removed. So I would not recommend purchasing this item.

I am reviewing an older product. My children are grown and I bought my first one in 1993. I had four children who enjoyed it. I had a part from another mobile, it was the wind up music box with hooks.

I put it on this product and the mobile was in motion. I always wondered if it was bad or made my kids dizzy, but after reading other reviews, it probably saved the day! I’m now here shopping for my first grandchild.

I see it’s mostly the same except the attachment of the pictures. Looks like it might be an improvement as the former style had holes punched through the middle of the discs. I tell everyone about Wimmer-Ferguson.

Mobiles need to be re-designed for babies, not adults! I’ve seen mobiles for decades, and they all look so cute. EXCEPT THIS ONE! It so boring, and plain, and anti-climatic! BUT, I’ve NEVER SEEN AN actual baby stair at ANY mobile! Its great in the catalogues, with all those pretty giraffes, and cute colorful characters.

BUT THEY DONT SEEM TO WORK! My wife suggested getting this, and like a newborn-crazy dad, I got this immediately! This TOTALLY BLEW MY MIND! at 4 weeks he was staring at it, and smiling (first smiles we ever got from our serious boy).

at 5 weeks I got the rotating spinner, and he follows a specific one in circles, for like, 30 minutes! (usually the straight lines, or the bulls-eyes. ) He looks at this Wimmer-Ferguson mobile so much, that: 1.

When we get in the way, he gets disturbed, and moves his head so he can see it again. (maybe thats just our son). 2. when we put him down to change, he usually cries. But when he stairs at the Wimmer, he’s as distracted as if he were nursing with my wife.

3. WHEN HE GETS SLEEPY, get keeps closing his eyes, and then cries and opens them, and them smiles when he sees the Wimmer. then gets angry because he doesnt want to stop looking at it. Its like a Siren of Mobiles, or the Pied Pipper of Wimmer.

4. Each one has tiny label that tells you what age that picture is designed for. 5. We took one of these and put it over his Stroller-play-table. He ignores all the other toys, and stares at the Wimmer, or off into space (not sure how thats related).

I think many toys for infants for designed for adults, because infants simply cant speak English. So parents think, “OH, that’s cute, so my baby will like it”. -BY THE WAY. It seems to be the same with music! —-My wife likes water,a nd mozart.

Our son just keeps waking up after 10-30 minutes. —-I like Lullaby’s, and the harp. but our son could care less. and keeps crying. —-WHEN MY WIFE DRIES HER HAIR, HE STOPS WAILING, AND SLEEPS. —-WHEN I VACUUM THE FLOOR, HE STOPS WAILING, AND SLEEPS.

BOTTOM LINE: Wimmer-Ferguson type mobiles work great for my son!.

The phenomenal experience started with a call to Manhattan Toy to check on delivery. I received great customer service as I investigated ways to ensure delivery before my two month old grandson came for a visit to Mum Mum’s house.

But, the best part is when your grandson adores it! The age appropriate black and white images capture his attention and keeps him engaged. It is such a fun and educational developmental toy that will grow with him.

I was so happy that it arrived in time.

My son is our rainbow baby, so I always get excited when there are gender neutral rainbow designs. This rainbow danglely toy can easily be for a boy or girl. I love that it’s very easy to clip on and off of things.

We usually use it on his car seat but its so simple we switch it around on his stroller and highchair too. The length of the dangle is nice, not too long where it could hit him, but just long enough to swing nicely and for him to play with it.

It lights up, spins and dangles, and plays music and sounds! With all those fun features my son is very entertained by it. I personally LOVE that it has an on and off switch, and its also very easy to wipe down and clean.

I received the Sun Shaker Shake & Glow Activity Toy to test. I thought this toy was a great size for a growing little baby’s hand to grip. The toy was very bright and colorful when you shake it. The sun spins and has two faces that you see as it spins.

When you shake it, it also play music. This would be prefect to add to the stroller or car seat to entertain the baby. The only thing I wish it would have would be a lower volume button. I thought it was kind of loud.

Overall, a great toy to give to a newborn to play with as they grow.

We purchased this for our great grandson. Soft, and he can sit up in it and play while Mommy does chores. It’s not too tall, it’s padded nicely, plays music,and even has a horse. Good size. We found it at one of your high end stores for more money.

The items were a lot smaller then I expected. I know it was 3 mths but was hoping they would be bigger since my 20mths old loves working out with her dad. But it will work for her baby sister when she gets here.

It’s a Xmas present so we haven’t taken. It out of the box yet, so can’t comment on the quality.

Our little boy loves certain aspects of this toy – particularly the kettle bell rattle and teether – regularly selecting this over teethers we have. He is seven months and the size is perfect for him.

He also enjoys the clacking of the dumbbell and this will entertain him for more than the average toy / distraction. The headband is good fun and he has no issue wearing it (albeit we would not take him out in it!!) – the only thing which he does not generally go for is the faux drink bottle shaker.

This has not had enough about it to capture him. In terms of quality we think it is well put together, the plastic if anything is a little too robust and a little hard, but this is no real issue All in all, a good thing!.

There are no soft parts on the ball, the entire construction is of firm and wipable, uniform plastic.

The little one can’t use it as a teether, even though it has a set of protruding hard ears. This is merely an aid to encourage and entice the little one to take the initial plunge (not literally!), into becoming independently mobile.

It gives the knowledge of shapes , colors and numbers at there early ages. Lovely toy.

I think this tumbling toy is very cute with the tiger face/features & orange color. I like that it comes in 3 different languages that can be changed by pushing the button to the language, there’s English, Spanish, and French.

It’s great for older kids to learn different languages and for kids around the world who actually speak one of the other languages. You can even set the volume to low, high or turn it completely off.

I think it’s cool how it lights up, plays sounds, says shapes & colors, & plays music. While it’s doing that, it shakes/moves around which would be great for kids to crawl along to and be entertained by.

My son is 8 months old almost 9 months and unfortunately he didn’t like the toy & got scared by it when it started to shake & move around but I think it’s only because he’s not use to a toy like that yet.

I think eventually he will get use to it and at some point like it. He enjoys playing with it while it’s off. It’s a durable, great quality toy that I think most kids would love to play with.

It rolls, wobbles, lights up, so easy to clean, lightweight and I can see this going into my toddlers toy box instead of the babas room.

We bought this to introduce our 4 month old to new sounds and textures, he loves it!
