I was very impressed with how many systems I could scan with the 5410 tool and mostly how easy it was to get connected and get details. The live metrics feature is also extremely helpful to monitor critical systems on a test drive to confirm repairs are working as expected.

Clearing codes is also extremely easy. The bluetooth connection allows a full report to be generated on a phone or tablet, perfect for looking through outside of the car to further diagnose any issues or identify service recommendations.

Only drawbacks are what a few other reviewers have noted – the unit can lag at times with the buttons not being immediately responsive but it clears up after a few seconds. Also, the app is good but not yet great and hopefully will continue to be updated as there’s a lot of potential for it! Note: I received this unit for free as part of a product testing program.

Whether you’re a professional, work in a garage, or just a DIY mechanic, this tool is a seriously valuable one to have. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to take a hands on approach to vehicle care.

If you think in anyway that you could benefit from the Innova OBD2, then by all means, I encourage you to get one. Firstly, almost anyone can work the thing. It’s almost as simple as plug and play. Was able to correct a few aggravating dashboard lights on both of my vehicles, and since I’ve had the Innova OBD2 I’ve been able to stay ontop of everything.

I am somebody who likes to be hands-on and be able to do stuff on my own and this follows me as it relates to taking care of my care. I have seen this kind of scanner be used by specialists to diagnose problems related to the vehicle.

I got this because cars can products are the ones that are widely used in the industry by DIYers and specialists and mechanics. I was very pleasantly surprised as it was really easy to setup and connect to my car and was able to get started real quickly as opposed to wasting time setting this up.

The app also helps a lot with tracking as well as diagnosing issues and getting in front of them. It is somewhat of an investment but for example, for me, I was able to find a problem that I needed to take care of right away as opposed to waiting for a disaster to happen.

Product has very little instructions on use. Everything is on-line. The product was locked up at the st ore so I could not take time to review all the models. This low cost model was not of any use to me as I am in Northern Ontario with little or no wifi connection.

This is a “code reader device” only. ( PS: I did not see any French instructions ) Returned the item for full refund; just a wasted trip to Canadian Tire.

First scanner that I’ve used, worked as advertised on a 1998 Mercedes. Clear instructions, very legible display. A colour display is not needed, but size, clarity and design are valuable, so the extra cost over minimum was worth it.

Remember this will only identify a code, not tell you what to do about it. It could be a general class – “Evap” in my case – that is then up to you to explore. I got lucky, identified the issue and fixed it.

This Innova #3030g Scanner checks the trouble codes that are stored in your car’s on board computer. It is very easy to use. You plug it in to the diagnostic port on your car’s dash, which is typically right near your knees.

The unit will automatically start to communicate with the car’s on board computer. Put your key in the ignition and turn it forward, but don’t start the car. Wait for about 20-30 seconds, and the unit will start to show the trouble codes if any are present.

If all is good with the vehicle, it will tell you that too. It will also tell location of some problems, like ‘left front’, or ‘right front speed sensor’ for example. It is then able to turn off your orange check engine light after you have made the repairs.

There are no batteries to replace in the unit, because it is powered by the vehicle when it is plugged in. You can plug it into your home computer via USB port to go on line and get more information about repairs and such, but this is not mandatory.

There are a minimum of operating buttons which makes it simple to use, it has a large, brightly lit screen that is easy to read, and the unit is small and compact so it won’t take up a lot of room in your tool box.

It is compatible with most/all vehicles that used the OBD2 system, which is all North American vehicles since about 1996, and most Asian cars. This is a great addition to your tool box to help you fix, or understand your vehicle.

This product has been great. It syncs up to the onboard computer. I used it on a few cars, mostly American and Japanese cars. No issues in determining the error and clearing any codes. Reads the computer spot on and able to see the status of all the different sensors.

The screen is nice and big and bright so when working in the car can get dark under the dash and in a garage. So having a bright screen and seeing everything is great. Would recommend this to all my mechanic friends if they don’t just borrow mine.

Great for all sorts of vehicles. If you are fixing a lot of vehicles like me. It’s well worth the extra money. Need one that’s versatile and tough for daily use.

I’ve had different code readers and scanners over there years. This one is very feature pack for the price. It was easy to setup and connect to my vehicle. I was able to use it to service brakes on my vehicle and I was able to look at information that I was only able to see with very expensive scanners I’ve used in the past when I was a mechanic.

I love the fact that you have access to the phone app that you can use along with the scanner to look up common fixes for your issue and you can even shop for parts right from the app. I would highly recommend this for the do-it-yourselfer.

It’s also easily updated over wifi. It is a great unit. It gives all you need to do it yourself.

I purchased this item, thinking. hoping, that if I watched enough you tube videos and enough comments and reviews here, that I could use my engineering education to make it work. It is assembled well, the poles are straight and without warp.

The dies of each size are cast well and fit into their respective rubber bands. BUT. Turns out, it ruined two sets of Sealed Power 1404M cam bearings for my Mark IV BBC. After damaging the first bearing, I used the second package of cam bearings to start over.

No matter what, the die segments spread out and make an imprint that damages the face of the bearing whether I installed it tight, or loose onto the die. I went for broke, kept trying to at least install a few for the experience.

We were able to get in 3 out of the 10 bearings that were a usable success. I don’t know if I can return the tool. But now I know to tell others to maybe choose another.

The previous reviews are 1 star because they tried it for one vehicle that didn’t work. If you have TRADITIONAL calipers with brackets that separate from the caliper AND the piston is press-in, this tool is great.

Not all brakes are created equally – just like every other vehicle. There’s a correct tool for the correct job. Any professional will have 3 variations of this tool and DIY’ers should figure out what will work for you 1 single vehicle.

Remember, oil changes aren’t the same on every vehicle and neither is brakes. (Yes, oil changes really require different procedures, tools, and parts on different makes and models, if you were questioning that).

I have been having nothing but problems since I bought my car October, 2020. By the way it has acted, has determined what my male family members have thought was wrong with it, and parts were purchased accordingly.

It’s a great inexpensive way to troubleshoot your car and/or reset the Maintenence light if necessary. Small enough for the glove box for whenever you need it.

got the privilege of trying this awesome unit, and for free at that can you imagine ?! I’ve been playing with this for a couple of days now, and the good outweighs the bad (or disappointing). I’ll give it four stars for now; most of the disappointing things can be easily fixed.

First the negative: 1) I really wanted to read fuel rail pressure in real time on my Dodge 2004 Ram 2500 and when I called tech support before I bought the unit I was told it would read this; unfortunately this reader WILL NOT read fuel rail pressure on that truck.

This is the second one that wouldn’t read FRP (Blue Driver won’t read it either). 2) Nice reports – they are sent to my cell phone but there is no way to print them. Should be an easy fix; I spoke with Tech Support and they said they’ll add it as a feature request.

3) Live data can be viewed as numbers or a graph, but it will only show two graphs at a time. i suggested they either enable Bluetooth direct to something like Torque or make their own app. It’d be nice to be able to show live data in gauge format.

Now the positive: 1) It cleared faults AND logged preliminary faults, meaning everything. None of the Bluetooth/app scanners do this as far as I can determine, meaning they don’t do it for my Dodge diesel.

2) Decodes OBD2 fault codes. Yeah I know I can look them up but seeing it in real time is easier. 3) The reports are nice; I can always read them on my cell phone. 4) Tech support is knowledgeable and except for one glitch about fuel rail pressure they have responded to my calls.

5) Unlike the 2004 Dodge it reads all sensors from my 2009 Dodge 1500 Hemi. Lotta useful information from these. I recommend this reader as a good entry level OBD2 reader. It should be adequate for the needs of most home mechanics.

I decided to try the Fix Assist to see if it could diagnose the same issues similar, more expensive devices do. Not a bulky unit, fitting nicely in my hand, and it provided all the information I needed.

The Bluetooth connected without issue, and the longer cord is great for moving about while hooked up. I was impressed not just with the detailed information given, but also how easy it was to read on the screen – clear and a decent size! Very user friendly, and I had no issues connecting to a number of vehicles.

Free updates are a huge bonus as well for keeping this device current. Plan to recommend to friends, but not let them borrow mine! Turned out to be more useful than I expected!.

WoW! Was stranded in a remote area for weeks , truck didn’t enough power to go up hill in my drive way. Roads were glare ice couldn’t get a tow truck in. The VSC light & engine light were on causing throttle to be restricted.

My wife picked up the reader and ten minutes later found the problem( burnt fuse ) and drove out like there was never a problem. I am guessing it almost paid for it self first time around. Bravo !.

I purchased this tool to help me diagnose both of my vehicles when the check engine light turned on. The tool itself is fantastic and is very intuitive to use. However the associated app for the iPhone/Android is as good as useless, slow, clunky has no real use case and attempts to make recommendations of what will fail in the future for your vehicle.

Another thing to take into account when purchasing this product is the updates on the internet – this tool has a USB on the bottom that can be connected to a windows computer and using Innova’s desktop application can be updated anytime to get the latest vehicle support software.

This is leaps and bounds ahead of other similar products. Outside of the App related issues, this tool is absolutely my go-to.

Looked for OBD2 tester online at CTC site web. Found 3100RS on sale. I read all reviews. They stated nicely connected to Android phone. Went to store. Asked clerk about unit since it showed 3100J on pacjage and same store product code.

Kid says same as advertised since store product codes matched. Tried unit out. Would not pickup my car’s Vin number (Lexus 2003) as well would not connect with phone. Called help desk in Cali. Guy tells me the J model will not connect to phone as is not the RS model.

I tell him CTC sold it to me as RS model. He says I know your not the first! Brought back the unit told CTC about false ad and got my refund.

Updating the firmware borked the catalog. So I returned and got another one. Same thing happened. All within the span of about an hour. I called Innova support and they were completely flummoxed. I did my part, I reported the issue.

I ended up just getting a very cheapo generic wireless ELM327 OBD II reader from the biggest online retailer in the world. With that, your choice of cheap iOS app to drive it and guess what? No more issues and much better software.

This is an antiquated product. do your research. It works, but there’s better.

So, long and short of it, this connector plugs into the OBDII port of most modern vehicles from the late 90’s forward in order to access trouble codes, freeze-frame data, Mode6 data, Smog Check readiness data, etc.

In order to access the info, you need to install a free app on your iOS or Android phone or tablet (with Bluetooth support/hardware). From there you can sync up the connector with your phone / tablet, and pull data out of your car’s computer / engine.

the amount of live data you can pull out depends a bit on your car’s model and year, and whether or not they have implemented full support for your particular model/year (some brands / models are harder to get OBDII model-specific data/specs on from manufacturers, apparently).

But they seem to have pretty good support across many brands / models / years and are constantly adding more / better support as they get more info from manufacturers, etc. Their tech support (phone & e-mail) seems quite responsive.

they seem happy to assist as far as they can in helping with initial setup, and even with helping try to diagnose issues or at least sometimes look up the OBDII codes or look for technical bulletins relating to some specific problem or trouble code [/ combination of codes].

It’s pretty cool that the app will look up”common problems” related to specific codes. While not definitive, they can be useful in narrowing down the list of possible issues or give a direction in which to look (which systems are implicated, possible things that could contribute, etc.

). It the tool perfect? Perhaps not. But they continue to improve it, are quite open/receptive to customer feedback / suggestions, feature requests, etc. While things may not get fixed or implemented immediately, they certainly seem to want to please their customers and help with any issues they encounter.

Overall, I’ve found it reasonably useful as a code scanner and informational device, as a novice. It’s perhaps not “professional grade. ” But, for the price, it certainly seems relatively capable and serves its role.

I really love this reader. Ive been able to log data and chart it to see patterns and better still was what it showed me today. Id taken my Tacoma to the dealership on Sep 8 to check on an engine light (I didnt have this yet) and they thought it was an issue with the transmission but said the light went off.

The truck also ended up getting a brand new frame because of a recall but I got it back 2 days ago 11/7 with no lights that day or all day yesterday. Thought they were hinting that the transmission may need to be replaced.

Great! This afternoon the light came on again. Id been logging some info so turned on the BlueDriver app to check it. The code thats being thrown is P0705 most likely a TCR sensor or Park/Neutral Switch that needs cleaning.

If I hadnt had this I may have ended up being duped into replacing the entire transmission which still probably wouldnt have fixed the problem. So although Im speculating and doing what-ifs. Im happy at the thought that this $99 device probably saved me over $3000! Excellent products and great app!.

In fact it’s a great product. It’s fast to configure, fast to connect, fast and reliable to give back the life data, it records data from the session, I believe that would give much more only if I had a US car.

The software is fantastic and needs your device (android or iOS) to be connected online. Firmware upgrades for the scanner work very well. Like many bad reviews here, it’s not the best tool for the european cars.

It will give you the same results as an 8 times cheaper Scanner. Why did I buy it? Because I have only Toyota cars and it was one of the brands this scanner mentions as having extended integration. Secretly I was hopping that it would give me a bit more like AirBag code reading from my Yaris (not happening).

It recognizes the Yaris VIN but not the AVENSIS D4D 2010. Nevertheless I couldn’t get the ABS compatibility sign nor anything related to AirBag. Again I say this is a very good product but it shouldn’t be sold in Europe, not at the full price at least.

Hoping this good team of car engineers would consider to start adding European (and other) cars’ support on this fantastic product.

It didn’t give you easy to read description codes for a non-mechanical person to read. It took a long time to connect once it was connected to the different ports. If you wanted it to work it was truly hard to understand.

So we took it go back to the store to get help to understanding the buttons and how to use them. It was over price even on the sale price. The hired mechanical person who works on our vehicles told us it might a defected one.

He had tried several times to get it connected. So we returned to the store with much disappointment. Again it’s all about knowledge and who has been trained to work on this item. It should be much easier for regular folks and even with someone who has over 25 years of experience of fixing vehicles could tell something was wrong with this scanner.

We thought it would help us normal people, so we could save on money and tell their hired mechanic what their codes were. Then maybe purchased the parts from AutoZone at a military discount price for ourselves to save on money but only get charged for the labor hours to fix our vehicles for the family.

The Auto Zone workers at this local was very helpful.

Just a code reader? No way! Live data, calibration ID, and mode6 data are some of the pleasantly unexpected features. It is perfect for quickly pulling codes, then looking at some preliminary live data to give you a diagnostic direction.

Fixed the car? Plug it in and run the monitors to verify your repair! Small enough to fit in my backpack pocket for quick diagnostic decisions. Bright lit screen means I can easily read it in some of those poorly lit shops.

A lot of value in this tool!.

Im impressed. Great code scanner. I can not believe how simple this is to use. Especially considering all the data you can retrieve. DTC and Live. Autel has most definitely engineered this code scanner with the diy mechanic in mind.

I have used several other readers including the bluetooth scanners and this by far is the easiest to use and that is important when you are already stressed out about the check engine light being on you dont need another headache using your scanner.

I truly love this tool. Easy as connecting the scanner FIRST then turning on your ignition SECOND. If you dont turn on the car (not starting it yet) you will get a Link error other then that it is plug and play.

If you have used a blue tooth scanner and spent 20 minutes trying to connect you will appreciate this tool as much as i do. with the ignition on you can read your codes with a push of a button. starting your car will give you a crazy amount of live data.

mass air flow, rpms, coolant temp, spark advance short and long FT % on and on. To top it off a simple press of the I?M button gets you ready for state emissions testing with red/green and yellow symbols showing issues.

This is the only scanner I own that works 100% with my 2005 BMW z4. Honestly I am blown away with this scanner. You could spend hundreds more and not do any better then this. Highly recommended!.

Great product. Engine light came on 2016 Beetle TDI. Showed error code. Reset it so light went out, took car for good high rev’d spin and light has remained out/off. Would have cost 50 just for a garage to plug it in to see what codes came up.

Saved a fortune. Just needed a good spin to clear everything following a period of small distances being travelled and engine never getting up to temp etc. All good now wife has changed jobs and travels 15miles each way to work.

Bought this because the engine warning light came on in my wife’s car and knowing it could be anything from emissions to a failure of a part so knowing what garages can be like for charging for these sorts of things so I got this to hopefully find out the cause and hopefully sort it.

It was so easy to use just plug into the socket in the car and it powers up, a simple menu appears from which I selected scan vehicle which it did and came up with an emissions problem it then asked if I wanted to clear the fault which I did to see if it would reoccur when I restarted the car which it did not and has not up to now so problem solved in a matter of minutes.

So pleased as a garage could have charged anything from 40 to a 100 pounds or more for a simple fix. So definitely satisfied with this purchase and its simplistic ease of use.

Small and light but sturdy. VERY easy to connect and use. Worked perfectly and helped save me a bundle on car repairs! The only issue is the protective cover over the plug falls off easily but other than that this unit is great.

This code reader is a very entry level code reader but for many of the codes that your computer will put out it is adequate most of the time. I read once that somebody said the scan codes are not a magic genie in a bottle and I wholeheartedly agree with that comment.

I have the same scanner in each of my cars because you never know when the computer will put out a flukey code and you can at least see what the code is on the road and maybe even reset it because sometimes just resetting a code will make it never to return.

I highly recommend it for beginners who have interest in the OBD2 scan codes. The OBD2 scan codes are almost 100% universal from around the year 2000. With this product, you need not fear the check engine light coming on on your dashboard, and having to go and spend sometimes $100 or more on getting a diagnostic.

If you’re resourceful on the internet or perhaps have subscribed to a FaceBook forum that is based around the model car that you have using this tool along with the internet and along with YouTube will get you very far in diagnosing a problem if you have the time, the patience, and the interest in doing so.

This product has no batteries, it powers itself from your car’s 12 volt system when you plug it into the OBD2 connector. To me, it is a great item to have for basic OBD2 scan codes.

At first try, this device did not work at all on my 2014 charger. I followed instructions to the letter, but it kept telling me to it had a “problem with the link”. So I tried it on my 2012 GMC pickup and it worked as advertised.

Here is the difference. The instructions say to put the vehicle ignition in the Accessories mode. On the pickup, you turn the key to Accessories. On the Charger, you have to press the start button twice (without pressing the brake) so that the ignition goes into the Run position.

Then the device connects immediately. My mechanic verify the problem code on his own machine and was able to fix it that same day.

The foxwell works just as good as the snap on scanner I used as a mechanic. of course it doesn’t have as many features being the base model but it still scans and reads the codes well and does it accurately.

It clears codes and reads live data, was able to read my vehicle information like VIN number (car had to be turned off with ignition on for it to read VIN). It does everything i wanted it to do. I am surprised how good it works and highly recommend this product.

The higher models that have more features would give the snap on and the other ridiculously over priced scanners a run for their money. I had a camshaft sensor issue with my 2007 BMW 320i and without this scanner, i wouldn’t have been able to fix the problem so effortlessly.

Cost me $40 for 2 camshaft sensors, as my car has 2 and it fixed the problem, no more engine light anymore and no more worries. would have cost me around $300-$400 to get it fixed at a mechanic shop.

If you can work on your car yourself then definitely get this scan tool, you won’t be disappointed.

Wanted to check battery state, but discovered that this isn’t a standard obd2 diagnostic. Obd2 was invented to monitor emissions and so it concentrates on engine efficiency, not peripheral stuff like batteries.

This unit is solid and has its own display (not relying on a linked phone like some). It did read a fault code that led me to change glow plugs that I didn’t know were failing. The instructions talk about different protocols but only the standard one worked on my Renault Megane.

I bought this to carry in the car for remote area travel – to identify faults so that I could pass on information to mechanics without them having to come to me. And to clear transient fault detections that might otherwise leave me stranded.

I have only used it once to scan the system as a trial but it was quick and simple to use, It was a bit disconcerting that it did not come with an instruction manual but it was very simple and intuitive to use for this purpose.

Perhaps some of the other functions could benefit from more information on how to use them. It appears to be well built. It would have been nice if it had come with a storage pouch but overall I think it was very good value.

The very first OBD2 Scan Tool I used was back in 2002 (Snap-On Red Brick), and it cost $5,000 USD. It’s amazing to me how basic Scanners can cost as low as $25. For that price, it might be a good idea to carry one in the glovebox of every car you own, kinda like how we use to carry a “Rand McNally” in there.

The scanner arrived in a very timely fashion and was well packaged to avoid the damage that occurs sometimes during shipping. I put it to good use right away, which I may add was very easy!! I am not experienced in using OBD Scanners, but this one made me feel as though I was.

The box is low profile and the unit goes back into it with ease as well. It stores in the glove box very easily and mine will come in handy again and again. I definitely recommend getting one for yourself, and it would also make an excellent xmas gift.

great product, I was left scratching my head, then this turned up, problems solved. It took all the guess work out of the equation in less than 10 minutes. It saved me changing parts just for the sake of it and needless to say saved money.

Best fifty pounds ever spent. It does cover a plethora of cars and is easy to use. A mechanic I am defiantly not, It did give me the confidence to have a go and saved a small fortune in garage bills.

Would recommend, it is compact and pretty rugged and is easily stored in the glove box. No batteries needed just plug and play.

I bought this scan tool two weeks ago to help work out what needed fixing on my car. It was extremely easy to use and has already helped identify what work needs doing on my car and on my dads! Foxwell NT301 Plus read the ENGINE MANAGEMENT light on my Land Rover 2010, find the loose cord, after I plug back the cord, it erase the fault code, and turn off the MIL. It also read the Battery status.

Excellent home mechanic OBD scanner, impressed with ease of operation and useful data recovery. The free accompanying app is also an excellent reference guide. I purchased it specifically for the OBD1 function.

Install the 3 AA batteries, not included , for the OBD1 scanning function as some vintage vehicles do not have power to to the port. It will scan most OBD2 vehicles without the batteries installed. Scanned my 1995 Impala SS, 5.

7 L which the manual and tech help said it is not compatible with. If you select the GM vehicle as a 1992 and NOT 1995 and Vin letter P it will link and give you accurate code retrieval. I used the OBD2 function on several vehicles and code retrieval was accurate when compared to the dealer scans.

Pleased with the scanner and a good purchase when on sale.

I received this product as part of a free sample program. It didn’t take long before it came in handy. My brother’s truck was having issues so we hooked up the scanner and found out the code issue. A quick google search said it could either be a huge costly issue or a simple sensor replacement.

He replaced the sensor and everything was fine. Even if you aren’t handy enough to make the repairs yourself, by determining the codes yourself you can relay that information to your mechanic to avoid having them charge you for unnecessary diagnostics or repair work.

We will be using this to pinpoint issues on our entire family’s vehicles and saving us a lot of time and unnecessary mechanic’s bills!.

unit works, I was able to connect to my 1997 Saturn SC1, read the DTC codes ok. It wasn’t unable to identify the car by VIN number. It’s a very basic unit. If all you need is to read codes, it’ll do the job.

If you want to do advanced diagnostics, this unit does not have the capabilities. Update: 1-22-2019, I was able to diagnose a 2009 Nissan Rogue, codes pointed to a fault in MAP sensor, troubleshooting determined air filter was bad.

units like this one, retail for $39. 99 on Walmart. com, units are on clearance now. so, you can buy one from them, without having to wait over a week or so to get it from China.

Quick review my first scanner, do not take my review serious but if you are a first time scanner user as well. this scanner will suit your needs. pros: easy to use, tells you what you need to know + additional info, handy and lightweight cons: small screen, will only tell you what you need compared to other expensive product’s, wired, navigating menu.

It’s amazing what this little thing can do for the price and size. Two button interface is surprisingly easy to navigate and it works great. Comes with a detailed manual but found myself tossing it aside since the device was immediately intuitive, and I was pleasantly surprised that it actually displays instructional messages on-screen where needed like much more expensive OBDII interfacing devices I’ve played with.

Only less than incredible thing is that build quality is merely decent–to be expected for this price range, it’s cheap plastic and super light, almost feels like a child’s toy–but I didn’t encounter any problems on the hardware or software end, and I tried it on varying vehicles to make sure it played nice with them all (it did).

I’d highly recommend this product to get the most bang for your buck.

Told me which O2 sensor system was causing the problem. Checked a the wiring, replaced the sensor, cleared the code and all is well. No guess work

simple reader, if you need codes (esp while on a road trip some place) this thing will do the trick, but you need to translate the codes which is easily done for the most part via the good ol internet.

I only paid 50 bucks for this thing which is worth the money. As I just got one code fixed (transmission sensor) and before that catalytic converter sensor both which cost me 75bucks to get diagnosed.

This time, I’m using the reader then repairing what I need. I’m not paying 75 bucks just to get a code read. That’s ridiculous.

I made the mistake of spraying an upper engine cleaner spray into my intake manifold and ended up setting multiple trouble codes and having the MIL light (check engine light) permanently turned on along with 3 other dash lights.

The electric power steering light, the low tire pressure light and the traction control light! All on and wouldn’t go off. Yikes! I got this nifty scan tool on sale. Reading some comparison charts etc I knew this would turn off the MIL light but I wasn’t sure if it was advanced enough to turn off the rest of the lights.

It turns out it did turn them all off. After driving my vehicle on the highway and burning up all that engine cleaner my engine began to run normally and the lights never came back on. Problem solved.

The code reader certainly works as intended, but boy, it is not user friendly. You pretty much have to have the detailed user manual handy if you want to make any sense out of all the codes it spits out.

It’s ALL code and no English. Sadly, most non-tech people who buy this gadget will be frustrated and will simply cancel the codes without looking up what they mean. It would be helpful if there was at least a decipherable English language clue as to which part of the system was sending the code.

The item arrived quickly and was packaged well with plenty of bubble wrap. The package includes a manual with simple usage instructions as well as a handy list of trouble code definitions. This ODB2 scanner device worked great for diagnosing the cause of a check engine light that was on my 2000 Corolla.

I have now cleared the nagging check engine light and have ordered a couple of parts that I’ll need for fixing the cause. Saved me a trip to the mechanic and it couldn’t have been easier to use! The device fits comfortably in your hand and it features super simple 2-button operation.

The display is very clear and easy to read and even has backlighting so you can read it in at night, in the shade, as well as in broad daylight. Also, this scanner needs no batteries as it is powered directly from the ODB2 connection on you car.

More than paid for itself the first time I used it! Inexpensive, easy to use and Good documentation. 2011 Caravan check engine light came on and this scanner showed “Coolant temp too low” then allowed me to reset the code.

Coolant level was good so maybe the thermostat stuck? I remembered that I was driving from warm air into cool air when the light came on. That must have been it since I haven’t had any trouble since.

So much better than taking to a mechanic and getting ripped off for parts that I didn’t need.

Only had to use it once. Plugged it in, got the code, replaced the part, turned off the “check engine” light, and the truck has been running fine since. I spoke with someone who said the local garage charges $20 just to hook up the diagnostic machine.

I spent $15 for this reader & $6 for a new part, so this was definitely worth it to me. It did exactly what I wanted it to do. The only (minor) problem I had was the cord got stiff & the readout took a couple of seconds when the scanner was cold (sat in the garage overnight in sub-zero temperatures).
