20 Best Toys For Parakeets (2022 Updated)

I have been a repeat customer of planet pleasures products for several years. While they are made for parrots, my rats love their toys. This pineapple foraging toy was very sturdy, and took several days for them to fully destroy.

My rats enjoyed all the grooves and tabs on the outside they could pull off, and it was light enough where they could easily drag and shake it around.

My caique absolutely loves shredding it and it keeps her beak nicely trimmed as well, as it tends to overgrow otherwise. A bit expensive considering how often I need to replace it but well worth the money keeping my bird happy and healthy!.

Amazing Value For Money – I buy these for my budgies and even though it looked a bit daunting at first when I placed in their aviary it was not too long before they began to investigate it! Once the fear disappeared they were at it constantly and it obviously is popular toy now for my budgies as every time I buy one they go bananas over it.

Amazing toy that lasts more than a week and provides amazing fun for my budgies. A 10 out of 10 toy.

Parcel was securely packed and delivered fast. This toy is our CAG’s favourite! Took to it quite fast and it’s been shredding it methodically. I had to reattach the lower part as it got separated from the top bit that had the rope, but all in all it took Leia a month to shred it to bits.

My Timneh African Grey loves this toy. I don’t keep them in his cage so he won’t get tired of them. He has other toys and I use this when I am going out of town. I also leave the TV playing for him, but he was sometimes picking some feathers out before I got home.

With this mini or original kabob for entertainment, feather picking is no longer an issue. I know he does not like me leaving, but I think it was mainly boredom. I also have a friend who feeds him and spends some time with him daily when I am gone.

I think he would agree this is our favorite toy.

Within 2 minutes of hanging this ‘chew-log’ in the cage my female parakeet was on it chewing away. The next time I looked, the bottom of the case was littered with wood shavings and she was making headway on enlarging the opening into the log! both my parakeets LOVE THIS ITEM!! They have worked away at enlarging the tunnel into the wood every day since.

I have ordered 2 more so we don’t run out of them for a long time 🙂 I am so happy that my birds have something to do and enjoy doing! my best advice to anyone who has parakeets is – get one!! I guarantee you will soon be back for more ;).

My younger female parakeet tends to bully my senior rescue male parakeet. Once this was in the cage and she quit being afraid of it, she immediately started spending most of her time chewing on it and turning it into her “girl cave”.

After awhile she started laying eggs and spending most of her time in it. Once she chewed thru the ends and she was bored with the eggs I put in a new one and she’s at it again.

My parakeets absolutely love these to tear apart! The only downfall is they throw the wood pieces out of the cage, and onto the floor. So maybe attaching it to the center of the cage is a good idea. Petco is the cheapest I’ve found them.

My bird, Coco, a blue-fronted amazon, LOVES these Bird Kabob toys. And I love that they come in different shapes and sizes for variety, and that they are made of a natural material. You have to buy a few different shapes at first to figure out which one(s) your bird is interested in and plays with without destroying too quickly, cause they’re not inexpensive.

Occasionally I”ll buy a different chew toy for Coco, but I always come back to these. They’re the BEST BIRD TOY!!.

My Birds love this toy. They are on their 2nd one. I had the first one for 5+ years and they slowly chipped the mirror edge away spinning the mirror. I replaced it to keep them from breaking the glass in the mirror.

It took a couple weeks to find this new one and the birds went nuts when I put the new one in. They played with it for 2 days straight stopping only to eat and sleep. Highly recommend it for the birds entertainment !!!.

Was not sure when I bought this if Darwin, our African Grey, would like it. It arrived, 4 Agave round chunks on the sisal rope, which I immediately cut up so the chunks were separated. It was rather big and bulky for Darwin’s Cage.

Not complaining though as I now had four toys for the price of one. Yay!!!!I threaded a single chunk onto a leather strip, bought from the toy making section, and then hung it in Darwin’s Cage. The Chunk consist of a hard almost wood type outer shell, and the inside is like really hard sponge, or maybe loofah.

Darwin really enjoyed chewing his way through, totally removing all the inside in a few days. It took him about a day then to chew his way through the harder outer shell. He loved it, and he had three more to play with yet.

Wonderful.

Took her three days to shred it to pieces. I have a Meyers that loves every moment of destruction- like a good parrot. Definitely buy again.

These twisted rope colorful perches are very difficult to find in a pet store but my 3 Amazon & 1 Blue-headed Pionus parrots absolutely love them* They enjoy sitting on the rope perch (which is comfortable on their claws) & preening or playing with the loose, frayed end.

The rope should be more stable to support the bird’s weight & not make them afraid that they may fall off if the rope bends downward. I’ll keep buying them since I can’t find them anywhere else!.

How much is a beautiful creatures beautiful colours with different kind of feathers it doesn’t need improving because it is important to zoo zoo record for the parrot because it’s a real parrot you can’t recommend it because it’s from the zoo.

My lovebird enjoys using these perches and pulling them apart, they have become rather fuzzy. I bought 3 more for when these have eventually had it, although they may last about 7 or 8 months I think, and I will buy more again after that if possible.

Very nice for the small price, my only wish is that they didn’t droop downwards after he sits on them several times. Every time I clean the cage, I reverse them and bend them up the other way.

I have a Military Macaw and she had absolutely no interest in it. I stuffed it with nuts and food plus paper shredding’s and still a dud. To me its just not interesting being made huge and exactly the same all over.

They need to balance it with different materials to keep the birds attention. I did like that they provided a eye ring at the bottom so I could attach another foraging toy to the bottom. That was all that got played with though.

I have bought my 2 double yelllow head amazons MANY toys through the years. These are not only one of their all time Favorites but mine too. These 2 monsters can go through a lesser quality toy in an hour but these things last them days.

When they chew off the wicker balls i take them and tie them together carefully and they are instantly a new toy! the wood discs are a favorite because they chip and the birds can hold one and go to work making wood chips.

I would recommend these for any amazon, african grey or medium bird. If i had a Macaw i would bet they would love it. Yepp, a keeper and the price isnt bad considering all.

This is clearly meant for a larger macaw. I got this for my eclectus, knowing it was a larger size. It turned out to be a smart move. there’s a lot for my ekkie go work on. This will keep him busy for months.

You can hide little bits of dry food to add foraging activity on top of shredding. Strongly recommend for birds who like to shred, but take their time doing so.

Good and works, trapped 20 moths in 5 minutes

Our African Grey parrot is happy about getting this toy. She is real cautious about what enters her cage. She doesn’t like anything too large. This was perfect. She likes the hard plastic pieces. Although she likes to tear some things up.

These are things that can’t really be torn up. So that’s a plus and will remain around for a while.

I have two Parakeets, and one is a chewing and destruction machine. She loves things that swing. She also loves anything with paper, string, and bright colors. This was a whim purchase gone right, and I’m glad I decided to give it a shot.

My other bird just pecks at it a bit, looking at it and walking away. (He’s a touch aloof about most things that aren’t food, water, or music. ) My sweetie pie Vega, however, only took about 48 hours to realize “this is something to play with”, and her curiosity pretty much demolished the banana, and she’s already at the little candy piece at the bottom.

Terrible quality. This thing needs repaired daily. Pretty soon there won’t be anything to repair. Won’t last a week. I wish it were durable because they absolutely love it.

This has to be one of the best toys I have bought for my two cockatiels. They love chewing on it and it keeps them mentally stimulated and busy. Probably will repurchase once they destroy it completely.

I wish the leather was thicker as he chews it apart. I tie the pieces back if possible & have other thicker strips to use.

These little hanging sneakers are my budgie’s FAVORITE thing to interact with. He sings to it, hangs on it, chews on it, kisses it, etcetera. The size of the shoe is good for a smaller bird. Not overwhelming or intimidating for small birds and EVERY part of the sneaker is safe for birds to chew & destroy as they choose.

I have a small parrot, and this is his favorite toy. This is the second one I’ve purchased for him. The first lasted many months. A large parrot would probably tear it apart quickly, but a small to medium one would be fine.

My budgie loves beads and toys that spin so thought this would be great fun for him. Its quite a large toy so would suit larger budgies and smaller parrot type birds maybe. My budgie is on the small side so had to remove the bells as it was too heavy for him to spin! Loves it now but do find the beads get stuck in one place so have to wiggle it to free them up as its the movement of the beads that interest him.

Overall its a good toy and would recommend it.

My mom bought one of these for me many years ago when I first got my cockatiels, which I just threw out the beginning of this year so it was very long lasting. My birds love this toy so now that I have 3 tall cages of birds, it made sense to get more of these.

I bought two blue/green quad pod toys in April. My birds still love this toy. It’s colorful, entertaining for the birds (especially my boys), and the bells are nice to listen to. I actually like that this product comes in another set of other colors and I wouldn’t mind if I had gotten one of those.

Would definitely buy again in the future.

Excellent product. Our budgie adores it. He spins the wheel with his foot and rings the bells with his foot and tongue! The new attachment to the cage part is also better. Easy communication with the seller.

I loved the price and it really was a very nice toy. but it only lasted for 5 minutes before my macaw ripped it apart. I think it should be marked for a smaller bird, as it doesn’t hold up to a Amazon/Macaw as listed on your web site.

Again I was very happy with both pricing and what product looked like, but not worth the money for only 5 minutes of play before it was totally destroyed.

bird was scared of it at first and with the natural browns she did not seem very interested in it at first. Now with her powerful beak, she has already begun breaking the bamboo apart! I love the fact it has lasted longer than any other toy for my Macaw.

Most only last a few days.

Despite being made of plastic, this toy is surprisingly sturdily built. It wouldn’t be appropriate for medium-to-large birds, but for budgies and cockatiel-sized birds, it’s great. I bought this for my green cheek because he likes to pick his food bowl up and drop it.

I figured he would enjoy playing with this. He took to it immediately and was very interested in the mirror. He hasn’t started playing with the barbell yet, but I don’t doubt that he will soon.

My husband and I enjoy working out throughout the week, so when we saw this, we couldn’t resist buying it even if our parrotlet ignores it. I don’t typically condone mirrors – they can cause birds that bond strongly, like parrotlets, to become more aggressive, so we will probably find a way to remove ours.

I will probably also replace the bells with smaller ones because they do add a little weight to the barbells. The toy itself is definitely made for birds on the smaller side of the scale, even the smaller of the medium sized ones- the barbell’s bar bends slightly, and doesn’t seem strong enough to withstand too strong a beak, when it comes to a rougher grab.

Still, adorable.

I got this for my Quaker and she likes the dumbell! I ended up taking the mirror off so she wouldn’t bond with her reflection though.

Ansonsten sitzen die Vögel gerne darauf und schaukeln oder klettern daran herum.
