I used Black Flag and they were very effective. With this product I didn’t get one moth. .I would never use tis product again. A total waste of money.

I bought this for my chickens to provide some enrichment in their run. They loved it! I put some seeds and mealworms in the small openings in the toy, hung it in the run, and they pecked them out. It is meant to be ripped up, so it only lasted a few days before it was down to its frame.

Then I put leafy green in it and let them pull them out. It was fun to watch them use this toy and lasted a long while for the price!.

My Golden Conure loves these pineapples. We bought size Medium. He is a mid-sized parrot with a big beak and can wreck things pretty quickly, I am actually surprised that our first pineapple has lasted over a month so far.

They are well made and I REALLY LIKE that they do not have plastic or metal parts. He pulls it apart and hangs on it regularly, it’s been a lot of fun. He gives it 5 stars.

I have a 22 year old umbrella cockatoo and she thinks it is the BEST TOY EVER. It is her favorite toy!!! She loves the whole line of piñyata products but the pineapple is her absolute favorite!!!!! FOR THE RECORD MY BIRD IS NOT SCARED OF IT.

We even have a little cockatiel that is scared of EVERYTHING and she isn’t scared of it. I definitely recommend this product.

I can never have enough of these- my budgies and my cockatiel love these and love chewing the seagrass, napping and preening, swinging and climbing on it. Theyre pricey but I know that the birds will enjoy it, so the price is somewhat worth it.

I think that it breaks really easy, but that’s because the birds love chewing it. The corners where the chains attatch should be more strongly reinforced, maybe with a double or even triple layer of seagrass.

Once a bird destroys one corner it all comes apart.

At first I was skeptical about this product because it was a bit bigger than I was expecting it to be. However, it fit nicely in my bird’s cage. My bird showed no interest in it for the first couple of days, but after that he hasn’t left it alone! He loves to sit on it and swing while pecking at the little toys on the chains.

He hasn’t created any visible wear on it yet despite tons of use, so the quality seems to be quite good. I definitely recommend this product for any playful parakeet.

My lovebird was a little too interested in destroying the soft plastic balls, so I removed them in case he bit off a piece and ingested it. With toys like this it’s important to know your bird and what materials they can be trusted with.

Other than that, this is a fun toy and a nice addition to his play gym.

Best Bird Toy To Give Any Bird. Found a parakeet in the street and I adopted her, after no owners came forward. She didn’t take to too many toys I gave her at first, but heard that these kabobs keep them busy throughtout the day shredding the materials.

It’s a good stimulation for them, and she shreds it almost every day. She’s still on her first one after a few weeks. The kabob is bigger than her but she really has made each kabob considerably smaller.

Bought 4 more on a sale to have as extras on hand.

Great toy! My birds have always love Wesco’s Bird Kabob toys. The yucca wood is nice and soft enough for me to push in safflower seeds, to make into a foraging toy. My two conures, which I recently adopted went crazy for it.

The best part is that it doesn’t last too long, which means they really like it. Perfect for the quote, “Parrots are long-lived but their toys shouldn’t be”. Definitely agree!.

I bought this for a friend’s pair of budgies and they shredded the toy pretty well. Just make sure to remove the toy once the majority of it is shredded, otherwise your bird will start to go after the string/rope that holds it up.

They’ll fray it and make the threads loose and might get a strand caught around their necks, as is what happened with the budgies. I was there when it happened, so I cut it and took the toy out. You can avoid the possibility of that all together by removing the rope from the start and place the individual pieces all over the cage for your bird to find.

the blocks are great but the ropes used are easily torn apart resulting in possible injestion/binding internally, vet recommended not to use on parrots. I bought natural vegetable tanned leather to put this toy together with; Malcolm loves the blocks.

Great toy for the money. Right now I have one of them in my African Gray’s cage. The other I’ll try out in my Macaw’s cage. They are both lazy birds when it comes to chewing, that’s why this toy is a great buy for them.

This is an excellent value but I can not get my African Grey, Hanna to accept a new toy. She is fearful of them. I have left it laying around so she would get use to it. Hasn’t worked thus far. I’d appreciate any suggestions.

I have used Hol-ee Rollers for dogs with great results. They are practically impossible for dogs to destroy. However, I got this for my Blue & Gold, with not great results. The first day I stuffed it with paper for her to shred.

I noticed that all the paper was out within 10 minutes. Turns out, she just bit the rubber in two in several places, making it easy to pull everything out. She loves grabbing it now and playing with the bell, hence the nearly great rating.

My sun conure, Padme, was obsessed with this toy when I first got her. It broke and I could never find a replacement, until now! She loves ringing the bell and chewing on it. It definitely outlasts all her other toys, but I could see it being destroyed in seconds by larger parrots.

It is much bigger than I thought it would be, but that’s alright. My other sun conure doesn’t really care for it.

This is so ideal for my destructive ringneck parrots. They love to play with this it keeps my hen occupied for ages both sides are reflective and the Bell is large enough for the to play with easy to clean and very robust.

I have been looking for some time for this particular mirror. My cockatoo had one for many years and wore off the finish. He couldnt see himself any more. This mirror was at my house in three days! He hasn’t let anyone touch it yet! Thank you!.

Great for Budgies that like mirrors. My Budgie loves it as he can see his whole body in the mirror not just his face! The length can be adjusted and my Budgie loves playing with the chain the mirror is attached to.

The product called Wesco “Especial” Bird Kabob is really a one-strand of chewable colored “wooden ” pieces. It is NOT 3 strands of rope with colored “wooden pieces” on the 3 pieces of “twine. ” I had an old one still unused with the tag on it & it’s named:”Chiquito” Kabob.

I think they have the wrong items in the bins at the wholesaler in SanDiego, CA.

My black cap conure loves this toy so much! It lasts a while compared to some toys we get him so it’s definitely worth the price! Will be repurchasing once the bird destroys it. Would recommend to other conure / medium small parrot owners.

My Timneh African Grey absolutely loved this toy and would love to chew the wood apart. For some reason she liked playing with it more when it wasn’t hanging. Just be aware that you will have pieces of wood being thrown around where ever they are playing with the toy.

A cheap alternative to this toy would be to give them popsicle sticks.

This is an awesome toy. My African Grey Parrot has played with it daily for weeks now and loves it. It does get destroyed, as expected, but still keeps him happy. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that when a piece of wood falls into his water dish, it leaks colors badly.

I would imagine these are safe colorings used, but they could tone them down a bit. The red in the water is a little frightening at first. I’ve seen my parrot pull off a piece of wood and scratch his own head with it !! I use the wooden balls that he drops to create other toys for him and there are a lot.

I bought an additional one of these for inside his cage and one is on top. Great, durable, long lasting – even while in pieces, no longer looking anything like the sales picture, it is still there and played with.

I would recommend this toy.

I have 3 parakeets – two male and one female. The female really likes to chew wood and will destroy the popsicle stick type toys in a day or two. I was looking for something that was pretty substantial, so I ordered this.

The wood slats are about the length of a parakeet, not counting the tail, so this toy is very big for a parakeet and I wasn’t sure how they would take to it. They all really like it though, and the female is busy turning it into a pile of sawdust but I think it will take her a good long time to completely ruin it.

She also loves to climb around and hang upside down on things, and this toy is really fun for that because the top is a little see-saw-ish and the bottom has those fun rope ends hanging off. The two males are enjoying it too, with a lot less destruction involved!.

After putting this new bird toy in our Parrot Sydney’s cage she took an instant liking to it. There have been some toys I had put in her cage that she was scared of and I had to take them out. Not this one.

She started chewing on it with in an hour after it was in with her. She went for the long colorful sticks and shredded them all but it took her about 2 weeks to do that. Just a heads up that when Sydney shredded the sticks they were everywhere in and out of her cage but easy to sweep up off the floor.

She hasn’t figured out what to do with the remaining colorful beads yet. She may be done with this toy but I’ll give it a few more days and see if she figures out something to get the beads off. She has never destroyed a toy before in fun.

It was fun watching her have so much fun with this toy. I’ll be looking for a new toy for her soon I have a feeling. Kat.

The rope holding the whole thing together is soft cotton and without intermediate knots. Once it breaks the whole thing falls apart. All of it was on the floor of the cage in pieces by the end of the day, wood largely unchewed.

This toy is super cute and my Conure loved it instantly. The shoe is heavy duty and quite substantial, so it should hold up for some time. Very happy with the toy, but the color is apparently random.

I was actually hoping for the purple as shown but I received a green shoe. It doesn’t really matter to me, but I’ve heard of some birds having preference or disliking certain toy colors.

My girl seems to like her little red converse. She is chewing around the rubber/plastic bottom of the shoe. She hasn’t bothered with the colorful rings yet. She has a bunch of toys hanging together and for now this is her “go to” toy.

However she isn’t obsessed with it because it would have been totally destroyed by now.

My Green cheeks perked up as soon as I pulled it out of the box. They were curious,. They have pulled one bead off the laces and put it in their water bowl. Lots of life left!

This looks like a great little toy. Bigger than expected. Seems pretty sturdy; well-constructed, decent materials. IDK yet if my picky pet parakeet will love it or not, but at least it will look good sitting in her cage! Her human big bro plays guitar (she sings) and am hoping they might play together.

First the positive: Toy is robust enough to keep even the big birds busy for many hours. I have a Blue & Gold and Greenwing macaw. This toy has held up much longer than toys that were much more expensive.

Opportunity for improvement: Quick link clip is way undersized. Both my macaws have the ability to unscrew it with their beak. My Greenwing actually fell because she unscrewed it, and it fell on her.

Fortunately she did not get hurt. Because the Gage diameter on the link is small, it cannot be torqued too much with pliers or you risk the chance of stripping the threads. Overall I am happy with this product, but if you have a large Bird, be prepared to rig up a more permanent attachment.

Very well built sturdy and BIG. Better have ample room for this one. In fact so big it intimidates our Macaw. Had to remove from his cage, and leave in a chair, so he could acclimate to this big creature that was sure to get him.

It’s the shape of it, looks like two arm’s with a head. About a week and he’s fine with it now.

We LOVE this toy at Wings of Love Parrot Rescue Center of the Bluegrass! It is durable and lasts for months, even with our large macaws and Moluccan cockatoos! It’s worth it’s weight in gold, but is sold at a very nice price.

Because of its affordability and durability, this is our go-to toy for our most powerful beaks!.

I have a 1 1/2 year old triton cockatoo named Sophie. I have purchased 4 Monkey Heads with foot toys because my Cockatoo absolutely loves this toy. My too will practically jump into her cage just to play with this fabulous toy.

She loves pulling all the foot toys out, sometimes I will put an almond or other treat in with the toys, and she goes right to it to start pulling toys out. She has other toys in her large cage but this one gets the most use.

She love pulling the fibers off of it and can spend hours messing around with this coconut head. So, I have spares because if I am going to be gone for a whole day, I will put a new coconut head in her cage and she will be entertained for hours and I don’t have to worry about her getting bored and lonely while I’m gone.

I LOVE THIS TOY!!!!! BTW, Fosters & Smith has the best price, believe me, I’ve checked.

I have to rate this in the top three toys I have ever purchased. For the last 23 years, I have shared my life with three large macaws and one Moluccan Cockatoo. All four love this Monkey head. I use it as a foraging toy for nuts and treats when the foot toys it comes with are gone.

My Hyacinth macaw, Blue and Gold macaw and Moluccan sill have their first one, minus the ears, eyes and some hair, but this Monkey Head is my Greenwings favorite and he loves to destroy it. It takes him some time to do so and I just bought him his third.

I would highly recommend it.

Our parrots were initially very wary of the giant head in their space. By the next day, they had plucked his eyes out and begun to remove items from the massive mouth. Be prepared to return all goodies back into the mouth often.

The items are varied and there are even a couple of lava-like rocks that are good sized that I found had also sailed to the bottom of the cage, too. A great and sturdy toy (except the eyes).

i bought this α couple weeks ago and straight out of the box, i saw mold all over it this would never be safe to give α bird, the mini shredder i ordered was fine but i didn’t even feel safe giving that to them either.

the quality is awful and should be actually checked before being shipped out.

My three parakeets love the Kabob Toys. I have it on the top of the cage so when they are out they shred the Kabob and not my window trim and picture frames! The shredded wood falls into the cage so the mess is contained.

I try to always have a Kabob on standby to replace a used one.

The front part easily unclips from the part that is attached to the cage. My CAG is a baby and still learning and yet managed to quite easily get it off while just playing with it. Once it fell in front of me.

I thought it was because she had access to the top and was able to pull it off. So I put the top against the ceiling so that access was blocked. Today, my mother found her under the fallen box, trapped and trying to get out.

Our CAG could have been seriously injured. Thankfully she is ok and unhurt. But it could have been bad. It is sad because the toy itself is very well made in terms of material quality but sadly not as per safety.

The only way to safely use it now is to put it on the floor.

Birds like it, but it comes off the cage too easily. The plastic knob to screw it on will snap off when a bird starts to play with it vigorously. Both my pionus and african grey enjoy it. Works better on cages with wide bar spacing.

I got this for my African gray parrot and she loves it. It is very well made, strong plastic. Comes filled with wood blocks, wicker balls and everything you see in the picture, and the nice thing is it can very easily be refilled by the back piece that easily comes off.

Only down side I had was when I received it, it didn’t have the universal mounting bracket as said in the description, but,, when I contacted them they shipped it out free to me very quickly.

My birds are super destroyers and this toy has held up for a long time. They leave most toys as little wood splinters in a weeks time but this has been hanging in their cage for months. Yes it’s got plenty of beak marks but it’s still held their attention and held up to their attentions.

Great toy. It’s quite heavy so make sure the cage can take the weight.

My African Grey loves this toy. He chews on it all day long. I guess I’ve purchased 5 so far since I’ve found them. I do however remove any empty chains and condense them so that he doesn’t get tangled in the chains once they are emptied.

I also keep the chains so I can add pieces back on when they start getting too sparse or add new blocks creating a new toy. Whatever keeps my baby happy and entertained when I’m busy.

*I have 3 large macaws and all of them absolutely love this toy!!!* My Scarlet (7yrs)- will destroy it the fastest, however once he gets all the wooden beads/blocks off he will then spend a few days twirling the chain running under it like its rain and then slowly he starts to bust up the chains themselves squeeling with every link he turns into a foot toy.

My Military (18yrs) is much more gentle with her toys however once she gets into it – she demolishes it with great delight. If I can catch it in time, I will restring the chain with more blocks to extend the chewing fun.

She does not destroy the chain like my Scarlet. My Hybrid (6mos) takes much more time with this toy but I suspect it is because he is still a youngster and its a matter of time. This toy however is his favorite of all the toys offered up – and he has many to choose from.

There really is no con on this one at all, if it were more durable it would not be the same. The beauty in this toy is it is soft wood and they can destroy it in good fun. There is however the reality that once you hang it up, its on borrowed time! You can get clever with restringing to extend the use if your bird does not break up the chain – it dosent have to be just with wood blocks, Children’s toy parts are great from the bargain bins at good will.

You can also tie things into the chain -leather, fabric (old tee shirts) etc. I also try to buy this toy in bulk when on sale as every dollar saved can go to something else for the ‘fids’. For lasting durability – I highly recommend the pendulum toy for large macaws – its a must have staple in our home with the beakasaurus more of a ‘treat’ toy.

Well, she didn’t actually, our Goffins haven’t talked for years. (Maybe annually for old-time’s sake. ) One Goffin is a feather-picker, the other has started, although I think it is hormonal. But I read that more toys would distract her, so I bought two, and foraging food, too.

This bird, Brandy, is very clever, and likes to play games, and the younger bird, Bubo (means owl) likes to follow suite or compete. Brandy was intrigued with this toy right away, but being a Goffin, shied away.

Bubo decided to check it out, and the next time I saw it, part of the toys inside were on the floor! Some of the wooden sticks were shredded. YAY! Both of them dismantled it in the next 3 days, and I put it back together, and then replaced the basket when they destroyed it, with a little box with slots for the toys, and they are playing again! They have a lot of toys, but the toys are old and not destroy-able.

Birds NEED that! I just put this on auto-ship so we’ll have a new one once a month!.

My sun conure loves this toy. There’s a fun assortment of destroy-able things in here to keep him from destroying my stuff when he’s out of his cage. Birb approved.

Our conure, Clint, loves this toy. He plays with it everyday and is always amused by it. Every morning I have to put his toys back in his little basket so he can play with it throughout the day. Out of all of his toys to play with, this one is his favorite.

It comes with many different little “toys” or “obstacles” for him to choose from to pick out to play with. Never a dull moment. It is also well made.

Boscoe, double yellow head amazon, who just turned 22 yrs old is hard to keep busy; but he LOVES these sneaker bird toy shoes. One shoe will last him around three weeks. They are so cute and durable.

If Boscoe is happy the whole house is happy LOL.

The birds I have like to untie the shoes but they don’t really try to get the food in it. I might be putting food that is hard to get from the shoes. I would have to figure out what kind is good to use.

My bird gets hours of concentrated play time with these sneakers. In the Spring during mating season these have been especially helpful! Instead of screaming all day long, I give him various things to destroy and these sneakers are helpful.

I can’t get photo’s of him using one because whenever I try to take photo’s of him eating or playing he drops what he’s holding to see what I’m doing! LOL He’s a Senegal.

Great For The Cage – I love solid foraging toys that I can vary in the cage, this has been added to rotation. Resets quickly if Im in a rush and scout loves it, she dangles from it whilst unlocking it.

You can start off without it in locking position then turn it further as the parrot understands the challenge. Happily fits a sugar snap pea, carrot button, few seeds, small grape. Our of my favs.

A Great Introduction To Foraging – I bought this for my African Grey to help him understand how to forage. When it arrived I took it off the chain and held it in my hand and showed him how to play with it and then showed him a nutriberry I was about to hide.

Jasper was keen to get the nutriberry and took to the Barrel Of Fun in no time. I always introduce Jasper to new toys out of his cage before putting them inside to see how he reacts to them. Jasper now loves to play with this and although he finds it easy to get the treats out of, it is something he enjoys to do.

I now hide treats in this on different days, at different times, etc so he never knows when he will find something. Jasper also enjoys playing with this even after retrieving his treat – shouting, screaming at it and banging it against the cage.

Also to make it harder, wedge paper inside it so it’s harder to open.

So Tough – How are lovebirds using this?! Mine is so tough that sometimes it gets stuck when even I try opening it. My bird has no chance.
